I am experiencing a Workplace Mystery
Someone in my workplace is leaving these tiny figures around the computer stations and break rooms:
They aren't particularly well made, I believe they're from some kind of mini model kit as they are too small to be toys. However, I can't find anything online that looks quite like them
A few weeks ago there were just a couple appearing, but they've been increasing. This week we've been finding at least 2 per day. No one will admit to knowing anything, though several people suspect our DON is responsible as he works late when no one else here during the day would see
I've been collecting them and holding them hostage (taping them to our message board) until the responsible party is revealed
As of now I have 21 of these little buggers
#story time i guess#my work#i am a victim of workplace pranks#work has been very stressful lately so having an Mystery is kinda helping tbh#but i am Determined to find the person doing this#it wouldn't be fun if i made it too easy for them to get away with it

As soon as the rumored ‘Ice King’ of Sapporo was returning from his trip to England, he was now greeting with the weirdly light atmosphere at his workplace instead of the tense one he used to receive back before he went to visit his family overseas.
What just happened to my company when I’m not around?
—That was the thought that the oldest heir of Kuraokami had in his head when he finally reached his usual spot in his room.
Not much later, he was then informed by his assistant that there was some mysterious package sent to the company with his name addressed on it. The assistant told him that at first it was normally destined to be rejected but because of a certain someone who vouched for the sender wasn’t really just someone to overlook
—That’s why the thing ended up in front of him right now.
Confirmed by his assistant that it was neither some prank nor kind of harm to him, the oldest heir of Kuraokami then cautiously opened it up as he didn’t know what’s inside of this colorful box submitted by the anonymous.
And what he just found inside the overly colorful box was…
A gorgeous wool scarf in the shape of a red dragon!
There was also a cute note in pink color put inside the box;
“To Yuki Kuraokami-san of Sapporo
Hello, greetings, and merry Christmas! The weather has turned kinda cold lately and some warm scarf would be the great choice to give during this winter, wouldn’t it?
Hehe~ I knitted this with the inspiration from the Red Dragon of Wales in mind, hoping that the great King Arthur would enjoy the company of this little guy during the harsh time of infinite coldness.
Have a wonderful holiday!
—Your Secret Santa from Nara Division
P.S. Gotta apologize for some kind of my arbitrary act under your name. The fact was I did intend to send you some Yule logs I made but the staff told me that you went to England around the time I arrived. So, I just tell your staffs that you had ordered the cakes for them as some thanks for their hard work all throughout this year instead. They looked kinda happy though.”
❖ Somehow at the Ajisai Residence in Nara ❖
“Are you sure that Hi-chan won’t be scared by Kuraokami-san’s aura? I think he isn’t that good with strangers?”
“Hah, don’t you dare underestimate your buddy you damn brat! Asahi-kun was surely something else.”
“…What makes you so sure about it? I recalled that many people said they wanted to stay away from Kuraokami-san just because of his piercing and icy-cold stare.”
“Hmm? You don’t seem to be scared of him though.”
“…Of course, but other people still do! And one of those reasons I am not afraid of Kuraokami-san is because I know another ‘winter’ who was way a lot meaner than him.”
“Hey, watch your mouth. Do you think you were insulting who? … And do you really think that just being ‘somebody’ can literally have a nerve to put this thing on me?”
Aside from the weird-looking but comfy cat scarf wrapping around the red-haired boy’s neck and the bright yellow scarf over the old attendant named Chishio’s shoulder, there was one more weird scarf snuggling around the ex-tycoon’s neck
—It was a rainbow unicorn scarf obviously knitted by hand. No wonder that the all high and mighty Saigo of the prestigious Fuyugami family was currently added to the victim(?) list of a certain wagashi artist’s weird scarf edition.
“To be honest, it is instead that kid who scares me the most…”
“Pfft… This serves you right, old man. That’s your penalty for not telling him what is your favorite color.”
Right now it seems like the said Secret Santa was still at his family store, busying himself with the unstoppable influx of customers in the festive mood of Christmas ;)
When he saw the scarf, as always he kept his stern face which he couldn’t express himself right infront of the assistant as if he doesn’t know what to feel but what he can say atleast is he’s delighted to receive such nice gifts and genuinely likes to wear dragon scarf right now to feel like King Arthur received a reward from slaying a dragon.
“So…What do you think?” He asked the assistant with curiosity
“it looks good on you, sir”
“This handmade scarf has a nice and soft scaly touch to my skin as if there’s a baby dragon wrapping around my neck. Say, assistant. Wouldn’t be great idea if dragons were existed and use it to be as our mascot?”
“S-sir forgive my rudeness but…if that happens, the dragon would’ve done more trouble like setting it on fire in our business”
“I guess you’re right…but I could able to tamed it though”
“Hahaha……oh by the way, Mr. Kuraokami. I wanted to to say thank you so much for the cakes. All of us were very happy with your kind gesture. Everyone here is going to do their best for the company!”
“Huh? o-oh yes. My pleasure, it’s indeed Christmas after all. You of all people deserve a reward after all the hard work you’ve done and I do must apologize for my uptight attitude towards you”
“N-no no! we’re just glad we worked here, you were just doing your job as our boss. At least some of us, including myself knows, sir. You are our great boss”
“I see……well carry on with your work then”
“Understood” they bow and left Yuki’s office
“and Merry Christmas…” he whispered softly
“Did you say something sir?”
“Nothing, off you go”
The assistant walk hurriedly away to do what their boss says while thinking back, they could’ve sworn they heard “merry christmas” right from Yuki’s mouth. Either it’s their imagination or he’s embarrassing to say it out loud. While on Yuki’s side, it reminds him that the next time he meets up with his secret Santa in person from Nara, he wanted to give thanks to the real sender for the cake and probably also tell them not to use his name next time. This is the rare time that he feels bad about himself LOL
— thanks for the gift and Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️

Nadia Ben Yamin headcanons part 2:
1 - Nadia's handwriting is cursive. It's almost impossible to read her handwriting sometimes.
2 - she holds little tea parties at her place for the police squad and have them all come over to chat
3 - She has a set of earphones on her to listen to random podcasts or music.
4 - she listens to true crime podcasts all the time.
She always feels bad for the victims though.
5 - good relationship with her parents, but closer to her father. Her father spent more time with her when growing up, but she still loves both her parents equally.
6 - when buying clothes, she usually looks for anything that's really really pretty. But she also looks out for comfort. If something is pretty but uncomfortable, she's going to reluctantly put it back down and look for something else.
7 - her favourite subject while growing up was science class. She just loved it for no reason (yeah totally no reason- but her favourite topics were on the human body and organs and stuff)
8 - Chocolate is one of her favourite things and dark chocolate is her go to.
9 - She can run surprisingly fast in her high heels. The police squad witnessed her chasing after somehow in heels and were all scared of her now.
10 - she’s an absolute menace on April Fools Day. Expect to be pranked by her. For example: Enzo walked into his lab, saw a present box, opened it and a glitter bomb exploded, covering him and hus workplace in pink glitter. Émile went to his tech lab, and ending up finding the entire place wrapped with wrapping paper. And everything was rearranged so it took time for him to get everything back into place. Those are just some examplesz
11 - Nadia absolutely loves stingrays. She doesn’t know why, but she just loves them.
12 - Nadia canonly has a cat. That cat is a British shorthair, and it’s stupid. It found it’s way into the catnip once and was high for a good amount of time.
13 - Nadia tried pottery once. She proceeded to make several cups and vases, before giving away some as gifts.
14 - Nadia likes hearts. She has a white ribbon (can be worn like a tie, used as a hair accessory etc) that has several little black hearts on it and she loves it.
15 - She has handcream on her all the time. Her hands gets dry as hell some times- so she uses it.
16 - some of Nadia’s favourite colours include grey, black, and red. She mainly likes monochrome colours cause she finds them easier to style, but it doesn’t stop her from having some bright or pastel colours im the mix.
17 - doesn’t get cold easily. She rarely gets cold, and most of the time if she wears a jacket it’s more likely used as decoration and not cause she’s actually cold.
18 - when she gives people gifts, she has a wide variety. She either gives you some kind of self care product (hand cream and lip balm stuff) or make up. She has also given people small portraits before, or pieces of clothing. When Carrie had first joined the police force, Nadia gave her a nice little ribbon to wear with her outfit.
19 - Nadia came to work in a suit one day. Everyone asked her why and she said: I was feeling classy so here I am.
20 - Nadia is really protective of her coworkers. She saw one of them getting harassed by a suspect, and she proceeded to run over and tried to fight the suspect. They had to stop her from body slamming the person while she was yelling them curses in French-
Forgot something-
This is all for now. Possibly will be a part 3 but I’m not sure. It’s 12:27am where I am at now so I’ll be sleeping. I won’t post anymore until I wake up/have free time. If you have any requests drop me a message or write it in the comments!

The Roseville Murders (Chapter 2)
Hi, just wanted to say I adjusted the plot slightly and will go into more detail with the story next chapter! This was a bit experimental and I wanted to write the growing relationship / rivalry between Y/N and Danny. I also wanted to write Y/N as a girlboss and to be just as witty as Danny!
Anyways, please comment any ideas or suggestions you may wanna see in future chapters! I have this planned out but would love any ideas or stuff I can add into the story! Tysm for reading!
It rained softly outside as you took a seat at your workplace. The desk was a bit cluttered with your art, notes, junk, and your papers regarding your current investigation.
One of the drawings on your desk was a sketch of Ghostface’s mask, attached to it was a few notes regarding the origin of the mask. Did Ghostface care for the history of it, anyways? You already theorized he was a narcissist who took pride in his work. Perhaps, he admired Edward Munch and his infamous “The Scream” artwork? Or maybe he based his persona off of it? You weren’t too sure but you did research the distribution and the company that made the masks. It wasn’t a particular popular company but it only distributed to the USA, Canada, and Brazil.
Ghostface didn’t seem too caring when it came to where he stabbed victims. As long as there was a lot of blood and something only he could perceive as art. And maybe you too. You felt excited, you already had a three year timeline. Maybe, you could get ahold of other states and ask if there’s been similar killings. Maybe even Brazil and Canada? You had to pinpoint a location and see if you could find just one name, any name.
Three years. Three countries. A part of you doubted he was Brazilian. Maybe Canadian? You weren’t so sure, you were pretty sure he was American. Y/N would probably have to go to the library tommorow to do research and use the slowly growing internet. Your research was suddenly halted when you knocked your sketchbook over.
Our slid a page. You kneeled down to pick it up, holding it as you examined the dark sketch. On the paper was a sketch of claws? No, they also looked like tentacles. Ever since the incident, you had dreams of these tentacle claws grabbing you and pulling you away from life as you know it. It must’ve been a sign of trauma or maybe it represented what happened through the nightmares? You slid it back into your sketchbook, deciding not to dwell on it. It would only make your room feel more depressing.
Beside your sketchbook was your leather journal. Y/N wrote everything in there, for mental health reasons. You included the incident and what Jonathan did for you. Your previous therapist said journaling your thoughts helped the healing process. It worked but journaling about how you killed your abuser was hell.
Your thoughts were suddenly interrupted when your phone rang. It was a chunky, black mobile phone you got about a week ago? Y/N reached for it and answered.
“Hello?” You answered, using your other hand to organize your desk.
“Hello?” A voice answered, it was a male by the sound of it.
“Hi, who’s this?” Y/N asked, paying no mind to the phone call as she started to put some of her stuff away. Art supplies.
“Who’s this?” He replied.
“Y/N L/N, am I who you’re trying to reach?” You asked, sitting back down.
“Ah, you’re no fun, detective.” He chuckled as you stopped, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion. Who was this?
“My apologies but, this is my personal phone. Can I ask who gave you this number?” You questioned him.
“Why does it matter, gorgeous? I know it’s you now.” He responded.
“Please don’t call me that. And yes, I am indeed a detective but I’d feel more comfortable discussing anything with you on my work phone.” Y/N said sternly.
“Oh, yeah… Detective L/N, huh? Think you’re some sort of hotshot because you’re new? Where did you come from? Washington? Gonna take more than the feds to catch me.” He said to you.
You listened intently and stopped for a moment. Catch him? Must be a stupid prank. Although, not a funny one since he had your personal phone number. An eyebrow raised as you looked at your notes on Ghostface.
“You still haven’t told me your name. Let’s not be rude, yeah?” You responded, being a little more cocky since you were off-duty.
“Awe, don’t tell me you forgot my name. I’ll give you a hint… I’ve been quite famous lately. In fact, I think you’ve taken quite the interest in me, Y/N.” The man teased. It was 100% Danny.
“I asked for a name, not an alias.” You said.
“Maybe after dinner, hotshot.” Danny said to you as you furrowed your eyebrows.
“I’m not in Roseville to play games. Either verify you are who you claim to be or quit wasting my time.” Y/N spoke with a stern tone.
“My last victim had three stab wounds to the throat. It was going to be two but their scream wasn’t as satisfying as I thought it would be. And they had a tattoo on their upper thigh. Bella Smith.” He said as you froze for a moment.
It was true. The latest murder victim was a middle-aged woman named Bella Smith who worked at a convenience store. She had multiple stab wounds but it was pretty much impossible to see she had three wounds on her throat just looking at photos of the crime scene.
“Okay and how did you get my number? I imagine the infamous Ghostface doesn’t have access to these types of things. How do I know this isn’t some sort of elaborate prank orchestrated by my coworkers?” You questioned.
“Honey, I am Roseville. Also sounds like you have experience with these kinds of things. You ever get humiliated like that?” Danny asked, grinning widely.
“No, it’s just a very logical conclusion. And why would you be talking to me anyways?” You asked him.
While you spoke to him, you quickly wrote down what he said and what he sounded like. You quickly speculated what his age may be, maybe 25?
“I keep tabs on the cops who are investigating my work and to be honest? They’re all stupid, it’s pathetic. Although, I noticed something about you. You come from one of the big cities, don’t you? You’re actually smart compared to those other pigs.” He said.
“Those pigs you speak of have tried their best in pursuing you. They have families too.” You responded.
“Really, huh? You’ve only been here three weeks? I think you should just trust me on this one because those other officers really don’t know what they’re doing. If you actually find out who I am, are they gonna give you credit? The newbie? A woman?” He asked.
“I don’t understand why gender is an issue. And why would they try to steal credit?” You questioned.
“They’re stuck in this shit hole city and I bet they could just really use a promotion right now. They want so badly to be the hero that arrests me… but first, they’ll let the freshly graduated detective do the work. It’s so easy to overshadow women in this world.” Danny said.
“Well, I don’t care. As long as you’re put behind bars.” Y/N responded.
“The bars at this station? I must say, your desk is quite cute. A bit plain but I like your style… interesting files too.” He mused.
“Huh?” You responded, furrowing your eyebrows.
“Your lil’ office at the station, I like it. This place has always been easy to break into. You noticed it too, didn’t you? Their security sucks and their morgue is just too damn small.” Danny said as you frantically looked around, shoving your shoes on.
“I’m going to call them right now and tell them you’re there. That was a stupid move on your part.” You said, practically yelling.
“So young and naive. I’ll be long gone.” He responded, chuckling as you hung up.
“Fuck, shit!” You said, quickly dialling the number to the police station.
You practically flung your door open, sprinting down the hallway and out through the front doors of the apartment complex after three flights of stairs. Your heart rate increased as you continued running down the sidewalk, feeling more frantic when there was no answer.
“Answer…!” You yelled, calling the emergency number.
“911, how can I help you?” A staticky voice answered as you continued running.
“I’m Detective Y/N L/N! Please inform the police station that there’s an intruder! He might be armed and dangerous! Do not touch anything since there may be forensic evidence!” You instructed.
“Oh—yes, right away, ma’am!” The dispatcher answered as you hung up, continuing to focus on your running towards the station.
Back at your apartment complex, there stood Danny with his own mobile phone. It couldn’t be traced back to him since it was stolen and he didn’t leave any DNA on it. If anything, it had the previous owners. Bella Smith. Your apartment complex had fire escape stairs outside your window. Easy enough, he thought. His outfit was black and had some stuff hanging off it. Strings? Ribbons? Danny was quite quick and extremely quiet when it came to climbing the set of stairs.
He reached your window, pulling it open gently and hoisting himself through, landing gently whilst kneeled down. For precaution, he had his knife gripped in one hand. This was purely for investigation and to see what you truly had on him. His head tilted curiously as he noticed your desk. Your art and notebook. His gloved hand reached out to your sketch of him.
Danny was truly impressed at how detailed and good it was. He read through your sticky notes and theories. Other than the fact he was blown away, he knew you were a threat since you successfully guessed his age range and height. Wait, his height? You did a careful examination of the footage he was in, looking at objects around him and his boots to correctly guess a height.
“What the fuck…?” Danny muttered as he looked at your notes.
The Scream by Edward Munch and a costume company? He skimmed over your notes and the psychological profile you built on him. He felt somewhat panicked since you were indeed no joke. His gaze averted towards your leather notebook. Eagerly, he grabbed it and opened it. Most of it was your thoughts and causes of your stress and anxiety. He stopped flipping through when he saw a darker page. It was dark because of the writing and how crumpled it seemed.
December 23rd, 1992
I was walking down an alleyway two weeks ago. It was cold so I had a jacket over my uniform. I suppose that’s why the man didn’t know I was an officer.
At first, I thought that he was going to try and rob me. It took me a while to realize that my money and belongings wasn’t what he was after. I suppose it would be appropriate to say that I was in shock for a moment. He never finished what he started. Despite being in shock, I was able to feel everything and the adrenaline only helped my rage.
Why? Why did this have to happen to me? After getting him off, I pulled my gun out and he stopped. I still remember the look on his face after I shot him. He was scared and pathetic, as he was in life. I don’t regret killing him. I never will. I just feel utterly violated. Never once have I been touched like that so violently. Is this what this fucked up world has come to? What if I didn’t have my gun and training?
He definitely did this to other women… he deserved to die. And I would do it all over again to him and to other men just like him. Of course, I had to call the police. They were going to charge me with manslaughter but they said that they would push this all under the rug, just as long as I never tell anybody. Did I contribute to corruption in the police force? This getting out would ruin everything. I don’t know but I do know that this was my gift.
Freedom was my gift for killing that man. It felt oddly exhilarating. I hope nobody remembers him, I hope his family know what kind of monster he was. Anyways, I’m being reassigned somewhere. They said they’ll give me my first investigation. In a smaller city.
Danny’s fingers trailed over the page. He felt angry and sad for you. That this happened to you. But, something arose in him when he kept re-reading that paragraph. You… enjoyed it? Behind the mask, he had a soft expression on his face. He imagined your beautiful face full of blood with you and your gun. He smiled gently as he kept the notebook.
He did indeed feel bad for you but he wasn’t satisfied with his limited knowledge of you. Danny decided to use this notebook of incriminating evidence to hold some leverage over you. Not only that but he figured he’d get to know you better if they had something interesting to talk to you about. Danny couldn’t help but grin when he thought about your journal entry and the sketches you made of him. So smart yet so naive.
Danny quickly took a look around your apartment to see all points of entry. He took a peak into your bedroom, it was neat and tidy. He seemed somewhat paranoid so quickly went back to your living room window, making his swift little escape. Not without taking some of your notes on him and your sketchbook.
About two hours later, you rubbed your eyes in frustration as another officer came to talk to you. There was a forensic team still investigating your little office space. Apparently, there was nobody here and your office seemed untouched. For about thirty minutes, you inspected any points of entry and tried to look for out of place shoe marks since it rained outside.
“Detective, are you certain it was the killer who called? We get prank calls a lot.” He said as you nodded.
“Yes, I’m certain. It was him, he knows I’m going to catch him soon.” You said as he nodded a bit.
“Okay, well, we’ll take it from here. Come early tommorow.” He said as you sighed.
“I will but please, don’t miss anything. I’m starting to think he was lying. It was him though.” You said as you turned, walking down the hallway towards the exit.
It seemed to be evening at this point and the rain stopped pouring. It was slightly humid but the city looked oddly beautiful when it was wet? You couldn’t stop thinking about your phone call with Ghostface earlier. Y/N already had some tech professionals try to track the number he called from and all of the information regarding the phone company. You’d have to wait two days at the latest for the results to come back.
As you walked through light puddles, you felt more and more tired. All the running and frantically searching for him was enough to just make you exhausted. It was all last-minute too. Y/N stopped dead in her tracks when she felt her mobile phone ring. You pulled it out of your pocket and answered it.
“Hello?” You asked, tired.
“Hey, gorgeous. Just wanted to apologize for my little deception trick earlier.” He responded as your eyes widened.
“Ghostface…” You responded, shocked that he had the courage to call you again.
“God, hearing that from you…” He said with a slight husk as you took a deep breath quietly to calm yourself.
“You know I’m close, don’t you?” You questioned him as he chuckled.
“Of course, I do… only these hands of mine can do wonders for you.” Danny said to you as you scoffed.
“You’re disgusting.” You say to him.
“Don’t lose your temper now, detective. There’s… things we should discuss.” He cooed.
“Things? Seriously?” You asked him, already tired of his bullshit.
“Yeah! Like, this lil’ notebook of yours! Really deep stuff… Victor Houston, was it? The serial rapist? Must’ve felt real good to put him down, didn’t it? Did it feel as good as you said it did in this thing?” He asked as you froze.
You probably let out a small whimper of shock as your hands trembled. Your heart pumped hard and fast. It was all you can hear as you felt your face heat out of pure embarrassment and shock. He… read your journal? This wasn’t good, this wasn’t good.
“W-What…?” You asked as he cackled.
“God, you’re so hot when you sound scared. Don’t be offended though, babe. You still sound real sexy in your cop tone.” He said as he continued.
“Yeah, I read all about the guy you killed. And how it was all covered up to accommodate you. Are you a star student or something? It’s hard covering up murders… or has it always been easy for you?” He asked.
“I-I, um… how did you get that…?” You asked him, trembling.
“You see, Y/N… we’re the same. You and I are too smart for Roseville. It’s just that I got the upper hand this time. While you rushed to the police station, I took a quick trip into your apartment.” He said as you let out a light gasp.
“Yeah, that’s right! I know where you live, I know where you’re from, and your number. I know who you truly are, Detective Y/N L/N.” Danny said mockingly.
“And what are you going to do with it?” You asked him.
“Always so straight to the point. I might give that annoying little journalist Jed Olsen. You’re trying to work with him, aren’t you? You mentioned in one of these notes… you also think he’s handsome.” He said as you covered your eyes.
You fought tears.
“Why? Why would you do this?” You ask.
“I should be asking you that. I’m a bit jealous you find someone like Olsen… attractive. He’s so boring, so normal, so… ugh, I hate talking about him. Still though, nice to know I have another fan besides him.” He said to you.
“Where are you going with this?!” You snapped as he chuckled darkly.
“I won’t tell anybody. Just as long as you halt your investigation for a while. I still want to have fun in Roseville here and well… get to know you.” He said.
“Go to hell.” You muttered.
“How original… so what’ll it be? I kinda need to know now since I’m also on a bit of a time crunch.” Danny asked you.
“W-What the fuck do you want me to do? Sit back and watch as you kill more innocent people?! I won’t let you.” You said with a venomous tone.
“What are you gonna do? Stop me behind bars?” He asked mockingly.
“Fuck you.” You said.
“I’m sure we will. But first, I just want you to sit back and not do anything stupid. We’ll see each other eventually. I’ll call you from another phone soon.” He said, hanging up.
You held your phone in disbelief and quickly made sure you had your gun. How the hell could you have been so dumb?! It was genius, leading you away from you apartment and finding such leverage against you purely out of luck. Your breath trembled as you walked back to your apartment, having your gun ready in your pocket as you did so.

Anon wrote: Merry christmas Mbti-notes. I hope you have a great time. I have a question. In many places in the world it's holiday related, but in our semi-small-ish town, it could be a weekly or daily experience. Please delete some family-related parts for privacy.
My entire family is very dysfunctional and weird. Everyone has communication issues and most people never talk to eachother (at all), only behind eachother's back. Instead, if they want something to happen, they indirecty yell, insult or say rude things or make gestures. These people I'm talking about are adults in their 40s or more!
We always read in the books that family is the only safety source. But mine is pretty dysfunctional. Other people say that you can find your real family elsewhere. But I honesty can't believe that. Otherwise, things like abusive workplaces, rivalry, pranks or hazing, bad friends or roommates, cheating or divorce wouldn't exist or would happen a lot less to people.
I seriously can't even think about finding my true family elsewhere and have lost hope. Especially that due to my dysfunctional family, I have probabaly learnt the wrong communication styles and coping patterns, and due to being socially limited and restricted by them since childhood, I can't be a warm and lovable person to gain friends or comrades, I can't set boundries or assert myself, and I can't discern the wrong or malicious people or exploiters to protect myself against them. I now think that the best and safest state for me is loneiness, but my own intrusive toughts (mosty from past), won't leave me alone when I'm alone.
What should I do now ? Should I still visit my grandparents? Should I stop visiting them? Also, I'm an adult. Can a person my age, coming from a dysfunctional family and lackig social skills, still survive and improve or find good friends?
Another question, how can I become less sensitive and more thick-skinned? How can I learn to not let what others say or think about me, or how they treat me bother me or ruin my day(s)? How can I learn to put my focus elsewhere and on things, and not on people? How can I cry less and control my emotions?
By the way, I am probably an INFJ, but please feel free to question my type. Thank a lot.
-------------------------
It sounds like many people in your family are the victim of one bully. All of the bullied members have only done what they felt was necessary to reduce hurt and pain - can you really fault them for that? The bully is solely responsible for the damage they inflict. It's not everyone else's responsibility to stop the bully. Even if it were, they obviously do not have the ability to, in the same way that you were unable to. If you know that you can't beat the bully, purposely provoking them is indeed the worst choice, because it only puts you in more danger. You are justifiably angry about being bullied and watching people get bullied, but don't project that anger in a way that blames the victims and adds yet more pain and suffering to them and yourself.
Additionally, it's very likely that you don't know all of the history between these members of the family because you are of a younger generation. Your judgment might be too black and white because you don't know the bigger picture and all of the reasons why the family turned out this way. Unless the bully is also a certifiable psychopath, it's quite possible that they were not always so nasty, and perhaps your family cannot let go of the idea of redeeming them. Whether you want to participate in that dynamic is entirely your choice, but you don't have the right to dictate other people's choices.
One unfortunate side effect of growing up in a very dysfunctional family is that you don't know any better. It's hard to imagine a different way of relating with people. Even if you can imagine it, perhaps it seems too difficult to achieve. People can only do what they know, so if all you've ever known is this dysfunction, how can you succeed in your relationships?
To "change" is to learn to do things differently - this is the only way to break a cycle (of violence). Age doesn't matter, as long as there is a WILL to change. To be successful in overcoming any challenge, a person must learn new information, change their perspective, brainstorm alternative methods, and make well-informed decisions. Choosing to hide away in "safety" amounts to a refusal to learn and change - you won't get anywhere in life. Yes, learning and changing can be a painful process. But hiding in loneliness is also extremely painful. Only one of these paths eventually leads to something positive, so choose your pain wisely.
At this point in time, you don't have the knowledge and skills to change your family. Family dynamics are extremely complicated and deeply entrenched, which is why family therapists spend years in school studying how to unravel them. You can't expect yourself to have that level of expertise. However, as an adult, it is within your power to work on yourself and improve your skills so that you understand how to conduct relationships differently than what you were taught at home. This should be an ongoing project for you because healthy and meaningful relationships are such an essential part of thriving as INFJ.
Do you understand what it really means when you ask me how to "be less sensitive"? It means that you want to become more like the bully, so that you can fit in with your family and better "succeed" in that environment. A twisted environment creates a twisted desire. Is that what you really want, to be in your 40s and still emotionally incompetent, just like them? A different way of relating is possible, but you have to learn and practice it with other people who are also committed to having healthy relationships. Seek out like-minded friends. Work on your emotional intelligence and communication skills with them (see the related tags, as I've covered these topics at length). Take some educational classes/workshops, go to therapy to address your trauma, and/or read the related books I've recommended on the resources page.
I understand wanting to spend time with your grandparents but you shouldn't be relying on them to assuage your loneliness. You should have friends of your own age. I can't tell you what to decide with regard to your grandparents. What I can say is that most problems have multiple solutions, as long as you are open to possibility. For example, now that you are an adult, you should have more power to make arrangements and choose a safer location or method of seeing them. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Favorite Christmas presents:
D'Aulaires’ Book of Trolls by Ingri and Edgar Parin D’Aulaire
Prank Killer pins from ClayGrahamArt (Ghostface is slasher bae.)
Heathers DVD
Labyrinth DVD
Weird Michigan by Linda S. Godfrey
Weird N.J. by Mark Sceurman and Mark Moran
Uh, I haven’t posted one of these in a while. Since the beginning of January I’ve been super busy. Next week I have a final.
Listing every movie I saw last year would be too much. But I wanted to list all the 2019 movies I saw from fave to least fave. Not including things I didn’t finish, like The Addams Family. At first I liked it for keeping them unconventional looking, but the plot wasn’t that interesting.
Us: February 2019 was a good month for movies. This wasn’t actually my favorite from last year. But it’s one of the few horror flicks I’ve seen that genuinely unnerved me. JORDAN PEELE MADE HAND HOLDING SCARY. The special features were the best part, though.
Alita: Battle Angel: Is this a female power fantasy? She’s scrawny but still kicks *ss.
Spider-Man: Far from Home: Jake Gyllenhaal is sexy to me now.
Happy Death Day 2U
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: It probably should have been both animated and an anthology, but still enjoyable.
How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: Am I still bitter that Dragon Slayers’ Academy never got expanded into a huge franchise? Yes. But Hiccup became a bearded dad.
Midsommar
Velvet Buzzsaw: I was expecting it to be better, but at least Gyllenhaal nakey.
Brittany Runs a Marathon
Pet Sematary: Needed more Victor and I wasn’t a huge fan of the new ending.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu
Kim Possible
THE BOYS
Disclaimer: I have not read the comic. I didn’t write down as many notes as I could have because it was hard to take my eyes off the screen.
The Name of the Game
Robin’s demise was horrific and shocking, but at least the show set its tone in the first episode. Hopefully we learn a lot more about her in season two. Because I kept expecting lots of flashbacks from Hughie. Robin deserves more scenes, darn it.
It’s great this series tackles not just workplace harassment, but assault. More on that under “The Self-Preservation Society.”
Uhhh, Translucent. Fight with Hughie and Billy was awesome. Hughie would probably be a better SO but there’s something about that invisible p3rv… Now Homelander I didn’t find that interesting until the end. Legally he’s a hero. That’s how Homelander presents himself to the world. But he’s basically a bastardized Superman-Captain America hybrid. Which is weirdly hot. Damn it, why is corruption sexy? Why?
Cherry
What if they blinded Translucent? Then they wouldn’t have had to kill him. :( Unless there’s a Supe with healing powers?
Get Some
Poor Starlight. If I was in her place, I would have told them to eff off and started my own super team. Where we all wear sexy but practical armor.
Okay, my notes say “Yandere Homelander?” I think this was the episode where he was spying on Stillwell’s br3ast pump. He is a lactophile.
Are there any normal s3x scenes in this show? Poor Popclaw. Poor Aleksy.
The Female of the Species
Gosh, this show is dark.
Good for the Soul
Popclaw, nooo. D:
Mother’s Milk, I’m Episcopal, too! I should make a list of Episcopal/Anglican characters. My favorite’s probably Geraldine Granger from The Vicar of Dibley. :D Anyway, I’m glad this episode calls out religious hypocrisy without making it seem like all worshippers are reactionaries.
Other things I liked about this episode:
“You played my b/u/t/t like jazz.” Hughie blackmails.
Laser baby.
“You’re my good boy.”
The Innocents
“They’re flexible, they take a pounding…” Puss/y poweh.
The Self-Preservation Society
The Deep getting assaulted is not something I expected at all. Gill pene/tration* would be disturbing even if it was consensual. Hopefully he’ll be able to empathize with Annie and his other victims. But he has to feel genuine remorse first.
*I say this as a fan of mermen. Gills are nice. Gently stroking gills is nice. Anything beyond that is horrifying.
You Found Me
Gosh, Homelander is evil. Get your boots off the couch! “You are dark, and I kind of like it.” I ship him and Billy now.
Next personal post I’ll review more movies or the second reason of Supernatural.

Dealing with a Restraining order? Here’s What You Need to Know
If you have anyone around you who is making you uncomfortable or if someone is bothering you to the extent that you feel threatened by their presence, then this blog is just the thing that you need to read. The first and the most important thing that you need to know is that your personal space is important and valuable. Therefore, if you feel that your personal space is being violated, then you have to make sure that you speak up against it and take legal actions.
On the other hand, if someone wrongfully files restraining orders against you, even then, you have a lot of legal options to prove your stance. However, in both these cases, you’ll need a good Restraining Order Lawyer, or else you won’t be able to get any positive results that favor your circumstances.
More often than not, people don’t understand the law, and therefore they endorse the abuse because they think they don’t have any option. If you are one of those people, then you don’t have to tolerate anything that makes you feel violated. This blog is going to help you in understanding everything about the restraining order.
So, without any further ado, here’s everything that you need to know:
What are the Basics of a Restraining Order?
More often than not, everything people know about restraining order is wrong at some level. But, you don’t have to worry about having the wrong information because I am going to cover you with all the facts that you need to know about it.
Basically, a restraining order is to protect you from any kind of abuse, threat, harassment, stalking, or assault from any particular person. A restraining order can forbid a person to enter your property or from the scene of violence. It could be any place like your home, apartment, or even your workplace.
Put simply, if you have filed a restraining order against someone, then the court will legally bound them to not be in close vicinity to you. The court can forbid a person to go to some particular places based on the nature of your restraining order.
One of the most important clarifications is that a restraining order does not give the abuser a criminal record. It just means that that the person will have to follow the orders given to them by the court, and that is it. It is not going to show up in the criminal profile of the abuser as long as they don’t violate the order of the court given to them in the restraining order.
How Can You Obtain a Restraining Order?
Although there are many conditions in which the victim can file for the restraining order. But, mostly restraining orders are taken by the victims of domestic abuse. There is no age limit for you to obtain a restraining order. If you are subjected to domestic violence by any of your parents, sibling, friend, fiancé, or even by your boyfriend, you can get a restraining order against the abuser without any trouble. All you have to do is to get legal help if you don’t want anything to go wrong that can put your safety at risk or make your case look weak.
Apart from domestic abuse, there are many other conditions in which you can get a restraining order. The following list is not all-inclusive, and there are reasons other than the following in which you can get a restraining order against someone.
Physical Assault
If someone assaults you physically and tries to harm you by attacking you physically, then you should not wait and waste even a minute more. File for a restraining order against the person who tried to physically harm you because if you don’t stop them, it’ll encourage them to attack you once again, and this time they may not miss, and you may end up losing your life.
Criminal Mischief
If someone is trying to disturb you by pulling pranks that can constitute as borderline crimes, then you should immediately file a restraining order against. If you keep ignoring their stupidity, then they may not stop and may end up hurting you or your property. For example, if someone threw a rock at your window and, as a result, broke the window mirror, then you can get a restraining order against them under this category.
Criminal Sexual Contact
If you have encountered a criminal sexual contact from anyone and you are afraid that they will not stop even if you warn them, then you should get a restraining order against the sicko before it’s too late. You may think that it is too much effort, so you may decide to leave it at the chance; it is exactly where you are wrong. Don’t put yourself at risk like that, and make sure that you get a restraining order against the abuser as soon as possible.
Harassment of any sort
Harassment of any sort is also one of the most common categories in which restraining orders are applied. It means that if you are feeling harassed by anyone, in particular, you can just go to the court and get a restraining against them before they cause any more harm to you.
Any Kind of Stalking
If you’ve got any stalker, then don’t live in fear of being attacked by them anywhere, anytime. More often than not, it’s someone you know who is stalking you. So, get a restraining order against them and get rid of them once in for all.
Sexual Assault
You can get a restraining order against your sexual abuser, even if your case is in the court. If you feel that they can harm you again during the investigation, you can simply get a restraining order and feel safe.
Criminal Trespass
It is against the law to enter someone’s property against their will. If someone is purposely trespassing your property, then you can put them back in their place by getting a restraining order against them.
How does A Restraining Order work?
Different restraining orders have different restrictions. However, if you are a victim of domestic abuse, then the judge signs an order of protection. This kind of protection order is very specific and clearly states what the abuser can and can’t do.
However, the conditions of the restraining order depend highly on the merits of the case. Therefore, it is extremely important that you talk to your attorney about your concerns clearly so that they can make a case that ensures your complete security.
What is the Expiry Date of a Restraining Order?
In most states of the USA, the restraining order lasts for ten days on average. After the period of the ten days is passed, both the victim and the abuser are summoned in the court for the hearing. In those ten days, a copy of the restraining order is given to the abuser and provided in the police stations of the town. You can give a copy of the order in the nearby police station’s sheriffs if you think they can bother you there. You must keep a copy of the restraining order with you all the time in the period of those ten days.
What Will Happen After the Court?
After the first hearing, the court requires you to meet the judge in the absence of the abuser and explain your current situation. If you are still bothered by the abuser, then the court may extend the temporary restraining order. However, if the abuser doesn’t show up in the court, then probably the TRO will be extended. If the police confirm that a notice has been served to the abuser and they still don’t show up, then the court will take further actions against them.
But, What if Someone Violates the Restraining Order?
If the abuser violates the restraining order, then you must immediately call the police. For example, if the abuser comes to see you at your place, then you must inform the police. However, if they violate the restraining order by committing a crime like harassing, stalking, trespassing, or assaulting you, then the police will file an official complaint against them, and they may be charged with the contempt of court.
Next Comes the Filling of Criminal Charges
Lastly, you must know that filling a restraining order is not just enough. It is just a temporary solution to protect yourself from the abuser. Meanwhile, you should not forget that if the person has abused you in any way that constitutes a crime, then it makes them a criminal. Not filling the charges will mean that you are leaving a criminal out in the open to commit the crime again and again. So, make sure your abuser faces the consequences of their actions so that they can’t make someone else their victim and make their life difficult as they made yours.

Schrodinger’s queer Dan-ah, really? I’m on ep 6 now and I have literally NO IDEA what is going on there, dunno if that’s just bad netflix subtitling or what.
Under the cut for ranting/ rambling
Idk if I’m meant to understand that she is actually a lesbian who came out to her family, had her sexual orientation dismissed/ ignored and in retaliation now uses it -specifically the being “outed” part- as a weapon or she’s actually lying just to keep an unwanted marriage at bay? If it’s the latter, BOY, I wish show hadn’t gone down that road, not just because wow, SUCKS, but also you know that closeted and sometimes “out” queer people in ultra conservative societies are FORCED into marriages to “cure” them or to “preserve family honour” or they accept it because they feel they have no other options etc. I mean, idk what the situation is in S.Korea, one hopes that’s NOT the case, but ouchhh. It hits a little tooo close to home, in a way that’s not as, idk, ‘comic’ as the show seems to play it as. AND of course, we have the whole Yeong-hwa thing being built up-- look, sure, Dan-ah could be bi, not lesbian, sexuality is fluid and all that, but, oh boy, unless you very specifically address that in a way that’s respectful, given everything so far, I’m going to be like....very mad.
Anyways, May is ace, as per ep 6 subtitling, woot, props for best character in series being ace? (Though again, NOT SURE if this is being translated accurately)
Oh, and I’m now 100% convinced that Ye-jun has a crush on classmate Yeong-hwa and is sadly PINING beneath all the face painting pranks. Like WHAT is the point of the Adonis/Aphrodite story playing over the scene as the camera lovingly pans over Yeong-hwa and then when the face paint prank doesn’t seem to make him less attractive to women, Ye-jun is like grrrr and then AGAIN when he discovers that Yeong-hwa was probably creepily stalking Dan-ah at the cafe, he’s SAD and like Yeong-hwa, why have you suddenly become very straight because i swear the first ep when Ye-jun came and collapsed on your couch you were totally doing the FOND BOYFRIEND thing ok and oh, Ye-jun must have thought that the face painting thing was A THING between you two and OH NO I AM EVEN MORE SAD NOW.
Anyways, I feel like I’m putting this show on notice now for several things, summarized as:
- Schrodinger’s queer? in 2021? NO.
-An entire bullying subplot that seems to be all about the “hero”/rescuer character and a prop for the romance to move forward than about the actual victim
-The workplace harassment theme in Oh Min-joo’s life which has so far been handled either as some kind of comedy or again some Drama for the romance plot. I’m not saying I’m expecting some Bold Feminist Moment where Oh Min-joo wins over her skeevy villain prof or senior Ki, but, hmm, I just don’t like the way they’ve muted the awfulness of what happens.
Look, show might get better on all three counts as we move forward, but like, man, it’s 2021 and I feel like I’m out of patience even more than I was last year.
I'm only on ep 2 of Run On, but what I'm getting is Seo Dan-a/ Lee Young-hwa wlw/mlm solidarity y/y?

Folly Five AU - The Scaley Trickster and The Dancing Demon
This is a starter fanfiction story of a toon alternate universe idea me and @the-vampire-inside-me have been brainstorming together and it’s going to get bigger. :)
It basically has toon characters from Disney, Bendy, Cuphead, and various other cartoons, games, and studios many people are familiar with or recognize. Few of the characters in our AU are OCs owned by me and vampire.
Anyway, enjoy! ;3

Folly Five AU - The Scaley Trickster and The Dancing Demon
The Tooniverse. A world between the real world and the world-between. Cartoon characters that were ever created go here to call home. It was during the olden days of black-and-white when cartoon characters would gather in the growing settlement of Toontown. When they aren’t doing their jobs in playing their cartoons, toon characters would come to Toontown to relax, rest, spend time with friends and family, and most of all have fun. Main cartoon stars and their co-stars would leave the studios of their workplace to retire for a hard day’s work until they are called back. Most characters play roles that are identical to when they are off the set, while others have opposite personalities. Toontown is reminiscent to the real world, such as the presence of toon crime, violence, and other things. But it was otherwise a nice establishment, where toons come and work together as a team. Everyday was the usual for the toons. Except for one little fella.
A baby, black and white dragon scurried through the streets in a playful prance. A cute mischievous smirk was plastered on his small muzzle and only one baby tooth poked out of his mouth. A pair of small wings stood from its back and a ridge of small spines ran along its back. As he walked, he was leaking drops of black ink from his stubby body, leaving behind trails of black spots on the sidewalk. The little toon is a newcomer, having been created and drawn on the storyboards three hours ago. And already, he managed to escape his human creators and entered through the world between and into the Tooniverse. You could say today was his birthday.
This mischievous baby dragon would later be named ‘Whizbang’. Of course, during his first run through Toontown, he had no name. He was pretty much nameless. POP POP POP! A loud popping sound made itself known followed by a yell of surprise. A nearby dog toon howled loudly and jumped out of his chair after being startled by a firecracker that placed under his seat. Whizbang grinned happily. He had just pulled a firecracker prank on the unsuspecting toon and was quite proud with himself. What a little scamp.
Soon he did the same trick on a large fat cat called Pete, a rabbit named Oswald, a horse called Horace, and many other toons around Toontown. After each firecracker pop, Whizbang would make a quick getaway before his victims could catch him in retaliation. Nearby toons would sometimes laugh at the prank or act surprised. Regardless, the reactions of bystanders and his victims made Whizbang laugh. At this pace, he would be the best beginning prankster, and this got him cocky. Maybe too cocky. Whizbang then decided to play his next firecracker prank on a trio of teenage toons at once: a cat, a dog, and a human toon. A small feat for a beginner. The baby dragon snickered cutely at the idea before making his move. A perfectly placed firecracker was dropped at the center of the trio of teens, before it went ‘POP POP POP POP!’. There was a yelp, a yowl and a yell from each respective toon teenager, causing Whizbang to drop on his back and release a series of cute laughs. However like the other toons, these three kids didn’t take firecrackers prank very well and they shot aggravated and menacing glares at Whizbang. This made the little dragon stop laughing when he notice their expressions and he only smirked at the teens with a toothy grin feigning innocence. And when they began to approach him aggressively, Whizbang quickly scurried away with the angry teens in hot pursuit. As he ran, loose ink ran down his body and dripped on the ground behind him, leaving a trail of dots. This would accidentally lead the bullies to where the dragon would hide: an alleyway. Surprised by this change of events, Whizbang found himself cornered as the teenagers approached him with smirks and laughs, eager for revenge. With nowhere else to run, the dragon has no choice but to try and defend himself. He tried to breathe fire, but all that came out was a small harmless ember. Seeing Whizbang’s attack attempt, the bullies laughed cruelly at him and the leader roughly pinned the baby down with a hand while his two companions gathered around, snickering. Whizbang squirmed and wiggled against the bully’s grip, but wasn’t strong enough to get himself free! He then felt a hand grabbing hold of his left wing and the baby spiraled into a world of pain when the bully started getting yanking on Whizbang’s developing wing. The lead bully was intentionally pulling on the dragon’s wing, causing Whizbang to cry out in agony. At this rate his wing will be ripped off!
The baby dragon whined. He just wanted to play a few tricks that’s all, they were harmless! But apparently these three bullies intend on hurting him for playing pranks on them. Turning his head, Whizbang managed to sink his teeth into the bully’s arm holding him. The toon released the baby briefly in pain but he became enraged and pinned Whizbang’s head to the ground heavily to keep him from biting. As this was taking place, a devil shaped figure with a floating head approached the entrance to the alleyway. This mysterious person had followed the trail of ink spots on the ground and they led him to the commotion coming from within. Hearing the voices from the alleyway was a black, devil-like toon wearing equally black shoes, a white bowtie, and having the standard white gloves. A devil’s tail swayed from behind the toon and a pair of horns stood atop his head. This little devil’s name was Bendy, also known as The Dancing Demon, another new toon character who arrived in Toontown a while ago. When he quietly stepped closer towards the alleyway, Bendy widened his eyes when he saw what the bullies were doing to Whizbang. From the looks of the ink he followed, the little dragon was a newcomer like him, fresh out of the drawing board and new to the Tooniverse. The baby may also be that little prankster dragon Bendy heard about around town. “Keep him still!” “I am, I am!” “This little lizard’s gonna get it!” While the bullies were too preoccupied with harassing Whizbang, they failed to notice Bendy standing behind them. The ink demon felt furious and curled his hands into fists, angered by the bullies hurting a baby toon like Whizbang. Ink began oozing down over the devil’s left eye and then over his mouth. Strangely, he didn’t seem fazed by this. Instead Bendy’s features melted even further into big drops, and then he started growing bigger and larger with ink pooling out from him… With Whizbang fully pinned, the lead bully smirked almost evilly, grabbing hold of the little dragon’s left wing once again, “Heh! Now let’s see if this wing pulls off like paper, boys!” He began pulling on the wing once again, and Whizbang released a pitiful squeaky screech of agony, squirming wildly in vain. It was no use. He was held down, no matter how hard he struggled, he just didn’t have the strength to fight. The poor baby dragon closed his eyes, preparing for the incoming pain of his wing getting forcefully ripped from his body. Boom… boom… boom… The ground suddenly began to shake, stopping the bullies in further tormenting Whizbang. The toon cat, dog, and human looked down at their feet, feeling the vibrations and seeing the nearby rocks and empty cans rock and topple over with each tremor. Whizbang, in spite of his aching wing, came to notice the ground shaking as well and looked around briefly in confusion. But then it started to dawn on the teens and the baby. These tremors felt like footsteps. Something big was coming. A dark shadow soon eclipsed them all, blocking the sun. The intensity of the shadow was enough to send deep chills down the spines of the toons caught within. Whizbang and the bullies involved all froze up in growing terror, their eyes spread wide to the brink. Slowly, their heads tilted upwards until they gazed upon a black, massive ink demon! Six curved horns stood atop the beast’s head and its body was constantly oozing with ink; the only things that stood out was the left portion of its white face, its wide grin that contained sharp fangs, and a white bowtie which strangely wasn’t stained by the ink. Long arms stretched out from its shoulders, each ending with clawed hands that could slice through steel and flesh. A pair of solid black eyes, deeper than the ink that coated its body, stared down at the small toons from the monster’s head with bone-chilling, white pupils focused on them. Its elognated, oozing legs were creating a pool of ink around it, but they allowed the monster to tower over the toon bullies and Whizbang. A devil’s tail swished back and worth from behind the demon, also dribbling with ink. The teenage toons and Whizbang gawked at the large inky monster that loomed over them menacingly. None of them uttered a gasp as they were locked in terror. As if to break the silence, the ink monster spoke to the teenagers in a demonic and slightly garbled voice, "Oh don’t mind me! Go on! I’ll just have fun to DRAW YOU TO HEEEELL!!“ A guttural growl then leaked out from the monster’s grinning jaws and it leaned down slightly towards the cornered toons. “AAAAAAHHHH!!!” The toon bullies let loose a chorus of comical screams of horror, their ears popping out of their sockets and their eyes bulging out comically. In a panic-induced rush, they released Whizbang and desperately ran around the ink monster, stepping in the pool of ink as they did. They fled the alleyway, crying for their lives, and for their mommies. The ink monster’s haunting glance followed the teens until they were out of sight. It looked amused at the result, its grin stretched slightly further as a mischievous glint appeared briefly in its eyes. As soon as the bullies dropped him, Whizbang had climbed to his feet, panting softly from the pain erupting from his pulled wing. He looked in time to see the bullies running away, and now only he and the ink demon remained in the alley. The little dragon now has to escape too; who knows what this monster is planning, or thinking, right now. But then Whizbang saw the massive ink demon turn its haunting, penetrating gaze back to him. Those bone-chilling, white pupils and that toothy grin tore through the little dragon’s little soul like daggers. And that was when the monster grinned wider at him. Whizbang’s eyes widened and his ears dropped down in terror, “!!” The inky monster took a big heavy step towards Whizbang, and that was enough to send the poor baby in a state of panic. Whizbang took a few steps back to keep his distance away from the approaching fiend. Overcome with fear, he tried running to the side of the monster; the same opening the bullies took to escape. A huge inky hand belonging to the monster suddenly plopped down in front of the baby, blocking the little toon’s escape route.
“!!” Whizbang was quick to stop in his tracks and run for the other side of the monster. But another clawed hand dropped down before him, cutting the dragon off again. That same hand moved toward Whizbang before he could run and carefully wrapped its oozing claws around his small form. The monster’s grasp on the little dragon was enough to secure Whizbang from escaping, but not agitate his already injured wing. The next thing he knew, Whizbang was lifted off the ground and pulled close to the monster’s demented face. Captured again, Whizbang was forced to stare into the eyes of the inky beast holding him; those little, glowing white pupils observed him closely. The baby dragon was trembling like a leaf, fearing the worst. Worst scenarios played through his little head like a projector. Was he going to be eaten alive by this ink monster? No, ripped to shreds? Or both?? Eaten alive and ripped to shreds?! Oh, the worst possible ways to go! Never to see his mother or father creators, or see the light of day again! Whizbang closed his eyes and whimpered, ready to accept his premature demise. When suddenly, the ink monster released his grasp on Whizbang and gently held the baby in the palm of its hand. A large finger, no longer clawed, from the demon’s other hand reached over and softly prodded on the dragon’s head as if it was petting him. Whizbang was startled, inching back slightly at this sudden guesture, becoming confused as his eyes went wide, “??” The finger then moved to Whizbang’s stomach and began rubbing against it, causing Whizbang to start laughing cutely, “Hahahahaha!” The baby pawed and kicked at the monster’s inky finger in an attempt to stop the demon from tickling him. This earned him a deep chuckle from the large ink demon, who became amused by Whizbang’s show of innocence and cuteness. The monster moved its finger away to further inspect its object of attention, leaving the little dragon covered in blotches of ink. Catching his breath, Whizbang took the chance to shake the messy ink off his small body and looked back towards the face of the monster. He was surprised when he noticed a sudden change in the demon’s features. It no longer has claws and the fangs the monster once had were replaced with just a regular friendly grin stretching from ear to ear. The white pupils in its eyes had grown bigger and rounder, giving the expression that this ink 'monstrosity’ was curious and docile, but a bit on the messy side with the ink. In spite of this change, Whizbang still felt uneasy about this ink demon. Why did it save him? And what was it planning to do next? Plus that cute face it was making was creeping Whizbang out. There was a sudden shift that rocked both the demon and Whizbang, causing the monster to blink its eyes and shift his face to a look of confusion. When the large ink demon looked down, Whizbang followed its gaze and saw that the demon’s body was dissolving into a puddle of ink, causing it to shrink. This decrease in ink mass caused the monster to rapidly shrink down, accidentally leaving Whizbang to stand on open air. The baby dragon flailed frantically to stay afloat, even flapped his tiny wings, but he began to plummet towards the ground below with a cry of distress. The shrinking ink demon caught sight of the baby dropping towards the concrete like a rock and frantically lunged forward with its arms outstretched to try and catch Whizbang- SPLOOOSH! There was a big splash of ink that surged and splattered on the walls and the corners of the alleyway. After a few moments, the ink started to move and was being pulled back into its source. Recovering from the fall, Whizbang groaned softly and opened his eyes slowly. He gasped softly when he found himself in the arms of the toon devil Bendy in his regular small form, laying flat on the ground. Bendy was currently absorbing the loose ink around them into himself. Once all of the ink was drained, only large black stains were left behind on the ground, walls and surrounding objects. Bendy opened one black eye, then the other. He saw Whizbang unharmed and gave out a sigh of relief. The little devil then rose to his feet, using his right arm to support himself while holding the baby with the other. “That was close! Almost dropped ya.” Bendy smiled, bearing his trademark grin innocently at Whizbang, “Can’t hold on to my other self fer long, still learnin’.” Whizbang stared at Bendy for a moment, but his face turned into a frown. The baby dragon suddenly jumped forward with his small jaws open and bit down on the space between Bendy’s eyes with his baby teeth. CHOMP! “AAHH!!” Bendy yelled in pain, quickly grabbing hold of Whizbang by the tail and started trying to yank him off. Finally, the ink demon managed to pop Whizbang off his face leaving behind three bite marks. He held the baby by the tail, glaring at Whizbang in the eye in a cute manner, “Hey! Is that any way ta treat yer hero?!” Whizbang only barked at Bendy, furious that the demon had scared him, “Rawrh rawrh hissss!” The baby dragon still got chills from the scare, but that didn’t stop him from yelling his anger out at Bendy. Unfortunately for Whizbang, Bendy couldn’t understand his baby talk and thought Whizbang was being playful. “Heh, fiesty little scamp huh?” The ink demon chuckled, his small scowl curling back into his signature grin. He held Whizbang with both hands at eye level, as if he was admiring the baby. The ink demon soon came to notice Whizbang wincing in pain, and then saw the baby’s limp left wing.
”Aw those bullies were pulling on yer little wing?“ Bendy cooed, then smiled reassuringly, "Don’t worry, they’re gone now. You don’t need to worry about them, at least for a while. Let’s say we take ya back to yer studio, before you get into more trouble,” He began walking out of the alley, carrying baby Whizbang in his arms. As soon as they walked back onto the sidewalk… POP POP! “AH!” Bendy yelped with surprise, jumping up with his devil tail sticking up comically but kept his hold on Whizbang. He quickly turned his floating head, seeing the singed remains of a firecracker that was dropped on the sidewalk behind him. Bendy turned back to Whizbang, seeing the baby snickering at the look on Bendy’s face. “Hehehe!” The dragon couldn’t help but play another prank to get another laugh; at least a bit of payback for Bendy scaring the daylights out of him. But then Whizbang tensed and stopped his laughter. There was a chance Bendy didn’t like the firecracker scare and may seek retribution. And the baby already has an injured wing. Who knows what Bendy might do to him now.
“H-Heheheh… Hahahahaha!”
There was a snort, followed by a hearty laugh afterwards coming from Bendy. This surprised Whizbang. The inky devil found… the prank funny? And Bendy was the victim of said prank. None of the other toons who got pranked laughed. But Bendy… After a moment, a small smile appeared on the baby’s little muzzle. Finally a toon that can take a joke without getting angry!
“Heh, quite the prankster aren’t ya? I like that!” Bendy chuckled, as he continued walking down the street with Whizbang in his arms, “I dun know why those other toons get so angry at you. They dun have much of a big sense of humor!”

INAPPROPRIATE
Weinstein, Al Franken, Louis CK, Tom Cole, Blake Farenthold, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, Donald Trump. The list goes on and on. I wonder where this road lead is leading. But first a disclaimer:
Predatory sexual behavior is not okay. Sexual assault is not okay. Sexual harassment is not okay. Abuse of power and aggression towards women is definitely not okay. In no way am I demeaning these very serious things. And in no way am I excusing these behaviors. Or mitigating the actions of the perpetrators.
I humbly make this disclaimer as a plea for conversation. To say that we should never be above a worthy discussion or deem a subject below our effort. I only ask for a discussion free from the dogmatic judgment and reactionary anger that clouds the conversations in our society.
Too often, at the first chance we get, we label any person or idea as either friend or foe, no matter how premature or inaccurate these labels may be. Some of you may even be doing this as you read these words, even before I've said much of anything. I simply wish, as much as is possible, to make observations about these 'hot button' issues without stirring the self righteous rage or reactionary indignation that drowns out voices and blinds our vision.
This is just a plea, to put down our preconceived notions and emotional baggage, so that we can talk about the issues that we face as a society. Because we must come to some understanding.
This disclaimer might be misleading and it's unfortunate that it is even necessary. It might lead you to assume that I will have an offensive position or controversial stance. Something that will stir the preverbal pot, but this isn't the case, or at least it isn't intended to be. I sincerely pose these questions with humility and compassion, intended, only to spark conversation. I have no real agenda or preference for the out come or the answers put forth.
I've come to see that our need to view issues as either 'completely black or white' is more of an illusion than a reality. So once again it is our responsibility to hash out the causes, the repercussions, and the solutions to the problems we face.
We all know that this type of sexual behavior is a problem, or at least we should, but almost everyone I hear seems to be content with just claiming a superficial outrage. This is the safest and easiest stance but it does little in the way of a pragmatic analysis of the root causes and possible solutions to these harmful actions. Unfortunately this is all too common these days: Safe and easy, over, difficult but necessary.
Regardless of our preferences, there must be a line drawn when it comes to the issue of indecent sexual behavior. Especially in the work place. This piece is me, simply wondering out loud, where the line is to be drawn and what the consequences should be for crossing it. My attempt at a conversation that I can't have in here.
With that being said I want to make a prediction: That the nearly constant revelations of celebrities accused of sexual harassment will not stop anytime soon. At some point I think we will find that, in many instances, if we dig deep enough and reach back, far enough into someones past, that most people have had at least one moment worthy of shame, disgust, and embarrassment, depending on where our ever changing level of acceptable behavior currently settles. Especially when it comes to something as complex as human interaction.
Because most men, at some point in their lives, are flawed, confused, flailing idiots, stumbling through life trying to figure out how to deal with other complex people within social conventions. All while trying to figure out how to orchestrate the awkward, nuanced, and often ridiculous dance of courtship and sexuality. And like most bumbling idiots, many people get it wrong.
It's obvious that, 'getting it wrong' or making mistakes is entirely different, than a habitual pattern of sexually aggressive or abusive behavior. I'm just wondering how low the bar will be set for an 'indecency' worthy of severe repercussions. If set low enough, we will find, few who are able to clear it.
OK, as I'm writing this, with my TV on in the background, more details involving the Matt Lauer accusations are being revealed and I can no longer continue this piece in the same direction without addressing these overt behaviors. I still have the same questions but his actions are ridiculous, seemingly ongoing, and overtly irresponsible. This asshole distracted me from my whole point.
So with that being said I guess I'm going to have to be completely specific with my references as not to be confused with these types of acts. Dropping your pants and expecting someone in the workplace to give you a blow job or giving a sex toy as a secret Santa gift with a detailed and explicit note of suggested use is pretty indefensible.
But I guess that brings me to my first question: Are all acts of sexual harassment/inappropriateness equal? I'd assume not. First of all we must make clear that sexual assault is different than sexual harassment, which is different than sexual indecency, right? One is criminal in nature another other is 'wrong' and out of place in nature, and the last is 'creepy asshole' in nature. No doubt they are all wrong in varying degrees.
When it comes to, say Al Franken pretending to honk a pair of boobs over a flack jacket vest while smiling for a photo, compared with Matt Lauer having a secret button installed on the desk in his office, allowing him to lock the door without getting up, so he could drop trow without worry of a coworker escaping before getting a regrettable eyeful of 'unwanted Lauer', Are they equal? And if they're not equal, should the punishment or repercussions be the same across the board?
The next question is: where do we draw the line? Sexual assault, is clearly not okay. Sexual harassment? Not okay. Sexual 'indecency'? This is where we need to figure out where to draw the line of what is unacceptable. And once we deem something unacceptable is it also unforgivable?
This is where things can get blurry. Indecency, is relative. Right? What one person views as acceptable behavior, another may deem as offensive or indecent. And if a vague 'indecency' is where the line in the sand is drawn, we will continue to see men of every position, in every industry, of every age and of every class outed as predators and ousted from their place of employment. Because, by definition, nearly every man, at some point in his life, has probably done something that could be considered sexually indecent. Depending on where you set the bar.
A major part of the problem that we face is that people want to have sex. It's a fact of life. It is THE fact of life. And as long as people have this desire, the initiator of an unreciprocated advance will wind up as the asshole in the situation. Which is fine, I guess, but should the consequences, no matter how far in the past or regardless of the severity, be: public shaming and the taking of livelihood?
I'm honestly asking because I'm not sure that we are all on the same page.
Should Lauer lose his job? If the allegations are true, which they seem to be. Absolutely. Should Franken lose his job, for an 'indecent' though obviously non malicious, prank photo? I'm not so sure. If he was asleep and a female comedian, like Amy Schumer, posed for a picture pretending to grab his ass, or crotch, should she lose her job? Is there a double standard? Should there be?
Another aspect that makes this subject less clearly defined is the 'wanted' versus 'unwanted' advances.
Can a phrase or act be defined as appropriate or inappropriate depending on the reaction of the recipient? If that's the case, it can be a roll of the dice whether or not an advance is looked on as innocent flirting or an unwanted act of sexual indecency. And, in those questionable situations, where it is unknown whether or not an advance would be reciprocated, what should one do? Is the appropriate response to never risk it? This seems to be the intelligent and responsible way to behave in a professional setting, and that is fine. Why risk it?
If we do draw a clearly defined line between appropriate and inappropriate sexual behavior, is the line retroactive? Can someone, who committed an act of insensitivity or made a tasteless advance twenty years before the line was drawn, be held responsible for a line that he or she didn't know existed at the time?
I ask these things with honest curiosity. Because these are the questions that we need to answer as a society if we are to move forward. I worry that without some honest and pragmatic discussion, free from overwhelming emotion, we will get caught up in a reactionary lynch mob mentality, in which we will blindly equate all acts of indecency, sexual harassment and sexual assault. In our understandable fervor and outrage, will we lump together any person who has made a crude joke, an insensitive comment, or idiotically misread a situation at some point in the past, with those guilty of sexual assault or rape?
I want to make a few things clear: When it comes to sexual harassment and indecency, the bar must be moved to reflect the equality that we like to consider ourselves worthy of. No one should have to deal with such avoidable bullshit in the workplace. Assault of any kind, and specifically sexual assault, is unacceptable and we, as men, must listen and be empathetic to the experiences of women, both in and out of the work place. We as human beings must listen to each other, no matter our differences of; race, age, sexual orientation, or gender. For, without the ability to view the perspectives of others, we will continue to be brothers and sisters divided. Don't ever think that this need for a glimpse into someone else's perspective doesn't apply to you. It does. Victim or perpetrator, hero or villain, male or female, black or white, none of us are above our responsibility for empathy. And I pray that none of us are above the desire for more understanding.
What does it mean, that sexual indecency, sexual harassment, and sexual assault is unacceptable in the entertainment industry but is acceptable when it comes to our politicians? Where are we as a country when we ask more from our celebrities than from our elected officials?
The fact that numerous accounts of alleged sexual assault isn't enough to disqualify someone from the highest office in our county, disheartens me to the chances of reaching an agreement of what is acceptable and unacceptable sexual behavior. When pedophilia can't be agreed upon as a disqualifier when running for senate, as the nominee of a major political party, then what are our chances for agreement?
This is yet another symptom of refusing to look objectively at issues. We have become so tribal and so unwilling to do anything against those we view as our 'team mates' or 'tribal members', that we have placed tribe loyalty over our own morals, decency, virtue and justice.
So without the leaders worthy of leading or, more importantly, without the citizens capable of viewing issues objectively enough to intelligently elect the officials, worthy of the positions they seek, it is left to us.
The responsibility is on those of us capable of putting our egos, our emotions, and our tribalism to the side to discuss the issues we face. As difficult as it maybe, as uncomfortable as it may feel, we must do the work of engaging in honest discussions of any and all subjects. We mustn't use shame or spite as weapons. We must remove the vitriol and emotion in order to pragmatically discuss, and, or debate, in order to agree upon a direction to move in.
So where is this road headed? There is no doubt that a reckoning is taking place. A reckoning that stems from a righteous cause.. But I wonder, is there anyone at the helm? Is it being steered or guided by anything other than raw emotion and vengeance? And if not, haven't we learned anything from the past?
When a movement is left to be driven by emotion, vitriol, self righteous indignation, and the fervor of a mob like mentality, no matter how genuinely positive its roots are, it always loses its purity and becomes ugly in it's results. Such a powerful and unguided motor inevitably pulls unintended and undeserving victims into its gears, crushing them under the justification of a righteous cause.
The true righteous and lasting endeavors of history were compassionate to all involved. Oppressed and oppressor, victim and perpetrator. Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and Jesus, all let the righteousness speak for itself to enact the lasting change that was necessary. Their missions were never tainted by the smog of emotion, because they realized the tendencies of human nature, to become defensive and to relinquish control to such strong emotions.
As transparency grows, seemingly exponentially, with the information and accessibility of the internet, I suspect that we may eventually be brought together by our common bond, of our flawed nature. As time passes, our weakest moments and our, once secret, indiscretions will become exposed. And as terrifying as this may sound, I believe it can be a good thing. Hopefully this vulnerability will shower us with some much needed humility. With such raw exposure maybe we'll have less places to hold our critiques and less right to pass judgements.
Here in this present moment, in the midst of this reckoning, we must be willing to learn and also willing to teach. We have to come together to understand the affect that our words and actions have on our sisters and brothers. We have to discuss the parameters, with reasonable expectations, for defining unacceptable behavior.
Or better yet we should teach and practice empathy, so that there isn't a need for a universal, all encompassing rule to guide our every circumstance with every person. This way we can treat each other as fellow human beings and discover where each persons individual boundaries lie. Where we can get to know and understand each other. Maybe we can stop seeing each other as objects or villains and we can listen to each other.
Hopefully we can also release our expectation to go through life without being offended. Bad things happen to everybody and though this fact shouldn't stop us from doing what we can to curb these experiences, and hold people accountable, but it should prevent us from being irrevocably damaged and defined by those negative experiences. There is a huge difference in perspective between a survivor mentality and a victim mentality.
This life is a chaotic, messy, and often painful ride. We all are a part of this experience, where none are veterans and all are rookies. The best we can do is to lean on each other (please, no groping!) using compassion, empathy, brutal honesty, and love to learn from our mistakes, fix what we have broken, and to become better brothers and sisters to one another.
This is just my plea. A plea for conversation...
