FMAB / AoT Comparisons and Contrasts
I was holding off on making this post because I didnât have enough evidence to compare EVERY aspect from both franchises, but I feel like I have enough evidence to at least explore the similarities between a majority of the main characters and a couple locations. That said, I reserve the right to make a second part to this post if I feel like it.
OKAY! SO!
Because I am an avid, hardcore fan of both Attack on Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist, I began to look compare and contrast characters from both series and oh my goodness the similarities are uncanny- like, yâall, Iâm so convinced Isayama took inspiration from FMA, Iâd be shocked if he didnât.
Before I get into anything, I should point out that someone has made a couple of these observations already in a Reddit post, but Iâm just adding onto these findings. Link to the OG post is below.
SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY AHEAD FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT FINISHED EITHER SHOW!!
Alright, so to start off in terms of characters, weâve got Edward Elric and Eren Jaeger.
Theyâre both hot-tempered kids who lose their moms and see her suffer in horrific ways.
Their dads also technically walked out on them early on in their lives.
They also lose body parts but get them back at some point.
The deaths of their mothers trigger their character arcs, starting with how? Enlisting in the military.
Then thereâs Winry Rockbell and Mikasa Ackerman:
Childhood friends/love interests whose parents died at a young age.
They care deeply about the protagonists.
Theyâre also terrifying when angry.
Alphonse Elric and Armin Arlert:
The blonde, smart, sensible characters who are almost always by the protagonistsâ side.
Got an absolute GLOW-UP as they got older.
Trisha Elric and Carla Jaeger:
Mothers to the protagonists who have the signature âdead anime momâ hairstyle.
Died while the protagonists were young.
Their deaths prompted their sonsâ character arcs. (If not the entirety of both series.)
Unaware of their husbandsâ past.
Van Hohenheim and Grisha Jaeger:
Fathers to the protagonists who walk out on their families at an early age.
Both wear glasses and have somewhat? long hair.
Both were either directly or indirectly responsible for murder at some point.
Under the heel of a higher power too. (Grisha with Marley and Hohenheim with Xerxes.)
Jean Havoc and Jean Kirstein:
These are literally the same characters, just different shows.
Same first name, same haircut, same mannerisms, SAME ENGLISH VA-
Also kinda got a glow up as they got older.
Once again, if I had a nickel for every time Mike McFarland voiced a character named Jean with an undercut and playboy tendencies, Iâd have two nickels. Which isnât a lot, but itâs weird that it happened twice, right??
Roy Mustang and Levi Ackerman:
The cool, collected and unbelievably badass heartthrobs with black hair and high military ranks.
Also terrifying when pissed off.
Riza Hawkeye and Hange Zoe:
The second in command thatâs usually by their superiorâs side.
Also unbelievably badass.
People may or may not ship them with their superior.
Erwin Smith and King Bradley:
I honestly could not find much similarities between these two except for the fact that theyâre both leaders of their military division?
And they both die in the end I guess.
Maes Hughes and Marco Bodt:
The kind, gentle hearted ally of the protagonists who find out the truth about their enemies before anyone else and dies because of it.
Lust and Annie Leonhart:
Female antagonists that get dealt with early on in their series.
Capable of regeneration of their body.
Brings harm to the protagonistâs ally at one point. (Lust with Hughes and Annie with Marco.)
Gluttony and Bertholdt Hoover:
Male antagonists who are usually around or involved with their female partner one way or another (Bertholdt with Annie / Gluttony with Lust).
Care for their female partner a lot.
Both are killed by being eaten by someone (Bertholdt is eaten by Armin / Gluttony is eaten by Pride), but not before desperately crying out for their female partner (Bertholdt cries out for Annie / Gluttony cries out for Lust).
Scar and Reiner Braun:
Scorned men and enemies of the protagonist who eventually come after them to get revenge for their homeland(?).
Turn around and become good(?) in the end, fighting alongside the protagonistsâ allies against a common but VERY different enemy (Reiner with Eren / Scar with Father).
Truth and Ymir Fritz:
Beings from another realm that interact with the protagonist one way or another.
Aid the protagonist realize their full potential, for better (Edward) and for worse (Eren).
Homunculi and Titan Shifters:
Mysterious beings with regenerative properties and unique powers.
Their powers can be transferred to new users if the previous users dies(?) (Ex. Greed with Ling / Eating a Titan Shifter as a pure Titan).
I swear I am not crazy, I just have an unhealthy obsession with both of these shows. Making a part two shortly.

So, im not saying we should break content creators boundaries, far from it. But I also feel like fandom in genral would do well to seperate fanfiction from the creators, and creators should respect fan fiction as a natual boundary of fandom. Like, i dont want ANY content creators for the fandoms im in to read my fan fic. Period. End of story. I dont want matt fraction to read my hawkeye fic, i dont want sebastian stan to read my bucky fic, i dont want dream or phil ir wilbur or ANY of the dsmp to read my dsmp fan fic. (Which is a big reason why i dont want to post it honestly, despite none of it being boundary breaking afaik)
I remember gerard way once saying that reading fanfic about himself felt like he was peering into the window of someones house. And that while he wasn't especially offended by it, he recognized it wasnt FOR him so he stopped. Which is honestly how I feel it should be. I cant stop creators from searching out fanfic of their creations or themselves, but that doesnt mean I'm especially comfortable with the idea of it. But then you have people that send other peoples fanfics to said creators. Or, even more frustrating, creators that seem to think they get a say in what fic writers can write about in purely fictional fandoms (obviously this is different when it comes to more semi fiction and real person fandoms). Or even creators that think they get to say if fan fic writer can write about their stories at all. (Looking at you Anne Rice, fuck you.)
Like I'm sorry, I just want content creators to stay as far the fuck away from any of my fan fics as possible. I dont care if its just about dream and sapnap eating chips and watching football or if its the most hardcore winterhawk smut ive ever written. I do not want the people who have developed or designed or inspired the canon characters or fictions i am writing about to even know my fan fic exists. I vastly preferred life when that wasnt something i ever even needed to worry about. Especially when im constantly worrying if anything I write will end up making the creator uncomfortable even if it isnt a stated boundary.

Okay.
So I know this isnât going to get as much attention as the original post (https://this-is-moonfairy.tumblr.com/post/185356628071/male-gaze-strong-military-woman-female-gaze). It was a post I had made at two in the morning right about to go to sleep with a very very small idea in my head since I had watched the lastest episode of fruits basket and realized something about certain characters. Mainly that Dark Haruâs advances were more crazy to me now. Fruits basket, Inuyasha and Fairy Tail were some of my first anime experiences. In fact, Furuba was honestly the first time Iâd really been anything close to a hardcore fan, to the point where I begged my parents to take me to the store so I could buy the last volume....and then promptly finished it there and then.
Thing is, I am a fan of most of the examples I used, except for Dragon Ball and Ore no Imouto(but thatâs only because Iâm not a big fan of those genres). I never mentioned that these properties were good or bad, in fact all have had an impact on the collective culture for a reason. The only thing I was trying to point out was the fact that a man and woman sometimes write situations differently because well, the saying write what you know is very true.
A lot of people mentioned the fact that I called out Erza, a very amazing character. Thing is, as much as a fan I am of her, she does have problems that Hawkeye also has, but quickly gets over. And to those saying âBut Erza isnât a military typeâ think for a second. While yes, a guild isnât the same as a state military, Erza does have a similar position as Hawkeye. She obviously outranks the main duo, acts as a soft mentor, has experienced trauma and is respected enough to where sheâs basically the leader of the group as a whole. Iâm also talking about Hawkeye. Difference? Well as someone with long hair, Iâve had experiences getting it stuck in car windows, zippers, glasses. There is a reason long hair needs to be pulled back in many jobs, including the military and food service. And while, yes, her skirt and uncomfortable boob armor is an issue, its more because if she lived in reality, I donât see Erza looking or acting like she does in the manga or anime. Sheâd probably keep her hair short or pull it back while on missions. Plus, sheâd probably not want to use armor that would be uncomfortable or dangerous to wear. Donât believe me? Well, check this expert:
youtube
Also, as much as I love a good skirt, I would probably want to protect my vaginal area if I were doing half of what Erza does. Especially when Iâm having period cramps. Oh and the knee thing? Her most used armor doesnât even have padding there? One shot and someone could literally cripple her.
Oh not to mention the romance is more believable. Hawkeye? Yeah, she got her man. Dumped him like a sack of potatoes in the end, but she made sure he didnât accidentally kill himself. Multiple times. Also, she has an actual personal life. Well, itâs her dog, but that girl adopted that thing as soon as she saw it.
As for the other thing. The boob thing. Yes, the female gaze example is more revealing but I kinda did that on purpose. So many times Iâve seen people think feminine gaze means weâre buttoned up like puritans. Yeah, no. Itâs kinda obvious that whoever drew this:
has never had boobs. Believe me, if it were accurate, those boobs wouldnât be such perfect little round perky dumplings. And sheâd be all #freethenipple in those triangles. Real boobs are teardrops, they move more and they need support. Like this:
That shirt is giving her coverage. Yes, itâs technically more revealing but this girl? Sheâs not her boobs. The focus is more on the sweep of her sword, the danger of her strength. This girl means business but she isnât above making bold fashion choices? Also? This is a very early on villain. Thereâs characters with a lot bigger boobs than her on the show. But there is an ownership of their bodies.
Also the tsundere thing. I probably should have said little sister trope instead but most of the time they kinda go hand in hand, so you can kinda see the confusion. But hereâs the difference:
Heâs not the only one she gives affection to. She has a life outside of him. Her whole life is not centered on him. Not to mention:
They acknowledge this problem. And they oddly accept it like family does (probably because theyâre all kind of abusive to each other). Oh and their relationship? Sheâs at least his third cousin. No Sweet home Alabama playing here. Only a viable option because she doesnât turn him into this:
Plus, I donât want to ruin it for any Fruits Basket fans who havenât read the whole manga like I have, although, the new anime is kind of hinting at who he ends up with so Iâm just gonna sit here and wait for the reaction.

off the rack #1242
Monday, December 24, 2018
I was hit by a spasm of back pain on Saturday like the ghost of Christmas Past. That'll teach me for being such a Scrooge this time of year. I try not to be naughty but being nice is such a pain in the pants. I am slowly recovering under the gentle ministrations of Santa's Helper. Being around family and friends is better medicine than any pain pills I could take. My brother and sister-in-law hosted a brunch yesterday and seeing everyone together laughing and happy soothed me greatly. Just holding baby Oliver and making him smile eased my back pain.
I saw the Ottawa premiere of Aquaman thanks to my Jee-Riz partner Chris, who won passes from the comic book store Myths, Legends and Heroes. I can sum up how I felt about the movie in one word; wigs. I wish they had spent some of the Atlantis special effects budget on better wigs for the actors. Arthur's dad's toupee was glaringly obvious. I've seen better hair on Cosplayers than Nicole Kidman's wigs. It looked like Amber Heard/Mera was wearing a wig at times but even when it looked like her real hair the colour red they chose was too unnatural looking. The movie's saving grace for me was Jason Momoa. He makes a great Arthur/Aquaman. I'm glad I didn't pay to see this one.
Ugh. Stan Lee tribute covers. Terrible marketing idea.
Dead Man Logan #2 - Ed Brisson (writer) Mike Henderson (art) Nolan Woodard (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). A couple of things really annoyed me this issue. Sin, the Red Skull's daughter, acted like a spoiled brat. It's not a stretch to foresee the villains losing at the end of this 12-issue story. Then we have Forge repairing a machine that can get Old Man Logan back home. They actually go there and he doesn't stay. I'm for super heroics as much as the next nerd and maybe I'm selfish, but that irked me to no end. Old Man Logan has been whining about getting home ever since he showed up in this timeline and now he wants to stay to prevent all the super heroes from being killed by all the super villains. There isn't even a guarantee that is what happens in the future. And why don't they use the machine to fix things? Man I hate time travel. I really like Mike Henderson's art but this looks like another travelling super heroes versus super villains battle every issue, and that's not very interesting to me.
Defenders: The Best Defense #1 - Al Ewing (writer) Joe Bennett (pencils) Belardino Brabo (inks) Dono Sanchez Almara (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). It's the big Defenders reunion to save Earth. Old Man Dr. Strange, Hulk, Namor and the Silver Surfer have to sidetrack The Train in order for Earth to survive. It's a bit complicated and I'm surprised that you didn't really need to read all the one-shots to get what's going on. I mean all those scenes where the stabby killer in the bed sheet is killing aliens isn't even mentioned in this story. So what was up with that?
Marvel Knights #4 - Vita Ayala & Donny Cates (writers) Joshua Cassara (art) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Here's where they explain why all the super heroes have forgotten who they are. T'Challa/Black Panther is featured in this issue that ends with him discovering the lair of villains. I'm wondering how the bad guys retained their memories.
Old Man Hawkeye #12 - Ethan Sacks (writer) Francesco Mobili (art) Andres Mossa (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). That was a very satisfying ending. What a great prequel to the Old Man Logan story where Clint and Logan go on a road trip. This is where Clint loses his sight for good. I loved the last page epilogue showing Clint tracking down someone who will help him to continue to fight the bad guys despite his blindness.
Runaways #16 - Rainbow Rowell (writer) Kris Anka (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Reading this Christmas special is better than getting a lump of coal. Having Doombot as a dinner guest made this a treat. I wish he was a regular member of the team.
West Coast Avengers #6 - Kelly Thompson (writer) Daniele Di Nicuolo (art) Triona Farrell (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The good guys have been captured by the bad guys: Satana Hellstrom, M.O.D.O.K., The Eel and Madame Masque. Kate is still free however and she's not going to abandon her team mates. Too bad she gets waylaid on her way to rescue them. Her captor is a complete surprise, which will make the next issue a hoot.
Thor #8 - Jason Aaron (writer) Mike del Mundo (art) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). This is an awesome issue with Thor fighting the Angelus. It ends with an ex-Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. being paid a visit by the Black Panther. I like how this book is being tied into The Avengers.
Season's Beatings #1 - Jason Latour (writer) Greg Hinkle, Chris Brunner, Veronica Fish & Mario Del Pennino (art) Rico Renzi, Jim Campbell & Veronica Fish (colours) VC's Travis Lanham (letters). I should have realized from the cover that this was a Deadpool Christmas Special. If I had known, I would have bought a pair of socks from the Dollar Store with the $4.99 US that this comic book costs. Unless of course, you're a big Deadpool fan or West Coast Avengers fan or even an X-Force fan. They're all in here too. Plus Squirrel Girl and Doctor Doom. Come to think of it, this is an everything but the kitchen sink gift for a Marvel Comics fan who will get a few chuckles out of it.
Freedom Fighters #1 - Robert Venditti (writer) Eddy Barrows (pencils) Eber Ferreira (inks) Adriano Lucas (colours) Deron Bennett (letters). This is some heavy duty patriotic poop right here. We start this 12-issue story in 1963 America that is ruled by Adolf Hitler and his "ratzi" party. The original Freedom Fighters meet to plot a resistance attack on a war robot factory. Things don't go well for the good guys. Jump forward to 2018 and the surprise appearance of the New Freedom Fighters; Black Condor, Doll Woman, the Human Bomb and Phantom Lady. All we need is Uncle Sam. Robert Venditti holds nothing back showing the Germans as ruthless racists. The art is really well done so I will give these Golden Age heroes a chance to see how they fare in modern times.
Middlewest #2 - Skottie Young (writer) Jorge Corona (art) Jean Francois Beaulieu (colours) Nate Piekos (letters). A new character named Jeb is introduced who helps Abel get out of a bind. Jeb reminds me of the first time we meet Gandalf. Abel's quest continues and we find out a bit more about the symbol on his chest. I predict he'll meet his mother down the road but unlike the talking fox, I won't be travelling down it with him.
Cover #4 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) David Mack (art) Michael Avon Oeming (Owen art) Zu Orzu (colours) Carlos Mangual (letters). This issue is a great example of how a comic book can tell a story with words and pictures. I felt like I was watching a TV show or a short film. Brian, David and Michael work together seamlessly
Hardcore 1 - Robert Kirkman & Andy Diggle (writers) Alessandro Vitti (art) Adriano Lucas (colours) Thomas Mauer (letters). Yeah man, it is. Agent Drake is a drone pilot but what he controls are other human beings. A new nanotechnology allows him to take over and move a remote body for 72 hours so he can complete wetwork missions. It's really cool. The big problem arises when the guy who invented the tech comes back to reclaim it from the government. That guy is not asking nicely. I like this concept and the predicament that Agent Drake finds himself in at the end of this issue. Therefore, this goes on to my "must read" list.
Klaus and the Crying Snowman #1 - Grant Morrison (writer) Dan Mora (art) Ed Dukeshire (letters). This $7.99 US one-shot tells the tale of how Sam the snowman helps Klaus save the Earth from murderous aliens. I loved how they wove in Norse mythology. You'd think a crying snowman would be doomed in the end and you'd be right, but fear not, 'tis a happy ending.
Betty & Veronica #1 - Jamie Lee Rotante (writer) Sandra Lanz (art) Kelly Fitzpatrick (colours) Jack Morelli (letters). The BFFs are back with a 5-issue mini that starts off their senior year of high school. I know that these slightly more mature Archie Comics want to draw in a new audience but Betty dating Reggie? Sacrilege. A few other things bothered me storywise that turned me off even more. Betty drinking a spiked punch without noticing? C'mon. Then there's the art. I didn't like the interiors compared to the nice cover that Sandra drew. I expected my girl Betty to be treated better than this.
Catwoman #6 - Joelle Jones (story & art) Laura Allred (colours) Josh Reed (letters). The finale of "Copycats" is a quick read so I read it twice. The first time was to see how Catwoman deals with the evil Mrs. Creel and her pumped up on drugs son. The second time was to see Catwoman in action and to savour the beautiful art and layouts. I wish Joelle Jones would do a Betty & Veronica mini.
Extermination #5 - Ed Brisson (writer) Pepe Larraz (art) Marte Gracia (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). I tolerated this time travel tale because of the amazing art. I wish Pepe Larraz would do a Betty & Veronica mini. If you thought that the mutants being exterminated was a real threat then you haven't been reading X-Men comic books for very long. This story puts the young X-Men back in their own time and all is well again. The big surprise comes on the last page and I'm thinking "oh geez, here we go again".
Domino #9 - Gail Simone (writer) David Baldeon & Michael Shelfer (art) Roberto Poggi (ink assist) Guru-eFX (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Soldier of Fortune part 3. The ladies are asked to kill Longshot. Haven't seen him in a while. Might not see him for long though, since he's supposed to bring about the end of the world. This is interesting because both Domino and Longshot have the same super power. Who's luck is going to run out first?
Firefly #2 - Greg Pak (writer) Dan McDaid (art) Marcelo Costa (colours) Jim Campbell (letters). Mal and Zoe are being hunted by a gang of thieves and the Alliance. Darn tootin' there's going to be shootin'. I have been watching Nathan Fillion's new cop show The Rookie and I quite like it.
Batman #61 - Tom King (writer) Travis Moore (art) Tamra Bonvillain (colours) Clayton Cowles (letters). Knightmares part 1. The "what the!?" appearance on the last page of #60 is explained here as a new story starts. I knew something was hinky when I saw the string of pearls around the dead body of Martha Wayne in the alley. I thought we were in an alternate universe and we sort of are but it came as a complete shock when what was going on was explained. Arkham Asylum is getting a new inmate. At least he's new to me unless I want to go back and read Batman #38.

THE MUN WATCHES. HAWKEYE. Ep2. -Ep4.
So I know I completely forgot they brought Ronin out in the MCU. I mostly ignore the last few years of MCU due to stupid ass decisions about many characters. See image below.
^ It me.
But anyways. Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I am so excited to get more of Clint Barton and see Kate Bishop. You guys have no idea how long I have been waiting for thisssss. ( Probably not as long as many of you hardcore comic fans. Iâm a mix of comics and mcu so Iâm working on it but I have always loved her. I remember when she first appeared. Iâve jumped around a lot of storylines and series lol )
Why does Kate give me like a bby Sharon in life had been different vibe.Â
Clint is such a dad in this and I kind of love it. Itâs sweet. I like seeing this human side to him.
fdsfdsfdojrqiuwjknfs, We get ASL knowing Clint Barton. FUCK YES
I really want Kate to become like a kid sister to Sharon. Like Hawkeye calls up Sharon and is like âyo. can you keep an eye on this new pain in the ass not-daughter I have?â
THERE IS FUCKIN LARPING IN THIS THING THIS IS THE FUCKING BEST THING
I am crying from laughter at the LARPing
Ep. 3.
Cool fight sequences. Mildly not paying attention due to fighting with carrd. And remembering really sad things that have happened to Sharon.
Yay for more ASL popping up and wow this episode is fun. :)
I just really adore Kate and want to adopt her.
âAnd when I tried to stab him in the face to prove he was wrong, he parried.â
âyou tried to stab your momâs fiancee in the face?â
All the Christmas music in these episodes make me cackle. I love it
Ep. 4.
Ruh roh. Sword to the throat. Donât like. Leave Clint alone. Heâs #tired.
Kate trying to be the Christmas Fairy. If Sharon wasnât so dark and twisty now I feel like that would be a thing sheâd do with really close people. She misses being cheerful.
YAS. WE GOT THE MENTION. BOOMERANG ARROWS. LMFAO
I am loving this familial bonding.Â
The LARPers are back.Â
YELENAAAAAAAAAAA
My dad wandered in and says he actually really likes Clint and that he can act. He says he is fairly impressed with some MCU work. ( He doesnât do comics/mainstream film)

Here it is, My Top 5 game logos of E3
There were a lot of surprising showings this year it was almost too much to parse. All of the hype-inducing trailers and teasers were full of little Easter eggs meant for gamers to slowly piece together clues as to what game they were watching. But there was always a moment at the end of each clip where the screen faded to black and a bright and shiny logo appeared. Confirming your suspicion that, yes, they are bringing back Battletoads. These are my favorite logos from the conference.
5. Tunic
Tunic is an adorable isometric rogue-like style game, developed by Andrew Shouldice, in which you play as a small warrior fox and fight your way through droves of enemies while solving puzzles and traversing the worldâs box-like terrain. Throughout the trailer shown at E3 there were messages written in strange language foreign to the viewers like the writing shown around the logo above. This seems to be in line with the trend in these games where the main character speaks a language that no one knows, further driving home the idea that we have traveled to a mysterious world far away. The gameâs art style is beautiful yet simple and to me everything about this logo really embodies that.
Release date: TBD Xbox One, PC
4. Tetris EffectÂ
This one was a surprise to me. Not that there is a new Tetris game coming out but more of the overall beauty of it. Tetris is a game we all know, and a game Iâm sure weâve all played or experienced. The Tetris Effect, as stated in the actual E3 trailer, is a reference to the psychological phenomenon of the same name in which people who played tetris for hours on end found themselves thinking of ways to get objects in their daily lives to fit perfectly together and even reported hallucinating blocks falling down from the sky. In other words the game blended with their reality. Pretty cool concept to base your VR game off of, Sony. The logo pulls from these themes by blending real world imagery into the blocks shown in the trailer...or wait...am I just imagining that? Have I been playing too much Tetris?!?!?!
Release date: Fall 2018 PS4, PSVR
3. Devil May Cry
Iâve always wanted to wear a duster coat. But Iâm short, kinda chubby and itâs like Summer. Devil May Cry has always had a very campy aesthetic that I think is welcomed by the gameâs hardcore fans but a lot of gamers in the west seem to be into a more serious tone. That being said I FUCKING LOVE DMC. Itâs over the top in all the ways it needs to be and when this was revealed I jumped up on my couch like Tom Cruise in an outdated reference. The game picks up where the 4th installment left off, following the plucky protagonist Nero who apparently has set up his own âdemon hunting agencyâ with an equally plucky Southern woman who claims to have built Neroâs new arm. The wing artwork on Neroâs back could maybe have served as a Roman Numeral V instead of the 5 maybe but hey, Iâm not a graphic designer. I do like blue and red as a nod to Neroâs arm in DMC4.Â
Release date: Early 2019 PC, Xbox One, PS4,Â
2. Sable
Did you guys watch the PC Gaming show? There were some real gems in that conference. Sable is one of them. Sable looks to be an open world exploration game set in an alien desert landscape. The trailer captures this gorgeous world as a girl, presumably Sable, as she rides her hover-bike looking vehicle through her world. The art style is akin to that of the cell shading of the Borderlands series and reminds me of Matt Fraction and David Ajaâs 2012 run of Hawkeye for Marvel Comics randomly. The mysterious symbol centered behind the title coupled with the beautiful desert sunset is giving me some mystical Mad Max vibes and I am digging it. backdrop I am a huge mark for exploration based games so I am very excited about this one.Â
Release date: 2019 Xbox One, Microsoft Windows
1. Cyberpunk 2077
Been a long time coming but last month we finally got to see CD Projekt Redâs latest with the trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. Iâm not even sure what to say about this game and its logo etc. other than the fact that it looks fucking rad. I have been a huge fan of the Cyberpunk genre even though it never really got the same kind of resurgence that Steampunk has. Films like Akira and Ghost in the Shell are prime examples of Cyberpunk done right and of course Western films like The Fifth Element and Blade Runner have similar influences as well. Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in the same world as the tabletop RPG Cyberpunk 2020 which has a similar logo as shown below.
The absence of any sort of people in the logo for Cyberpunk 2077 is an important choice I feel because the developers have stated that the main character is completely customizable and the game takes place entirely in first person. Unlike the Witcher Series which was a 3rd person RPG following the story of Geralt of Rivia. I look forward to exploring all of Night City and playing as a buff cyborg man with a large laser gun.Â
Release date: TBD (hopefully soon)
THESE LOGOS ARE ALL COOL

I heard you're a FMAB fan, aren't you? Well, what about some character ask meme for 1) Edward, 2)Alphonce, 3) Roy, 4)Riza.. Go on! ;)
Character ask meme
EEEEEEEE THANK YOU for asking me about FMAB!!!!!!!! Iâve just finished (yet another) FMAB rewatch, am rereading the manga, and am in such a Fullmetal Alchemist mood is it unbelievable! So here we go...
Edward Elric: #1. Obsessed Over
When I first entered the wonderful world of Fullmetal Alchemist, Ed quickly became my fave. Peeping back at how I talked about him two years ago, especially, itâs quite obvious how much this temperamental chibi dork stole my gaze. I cosplayed him, had quite a few images of him as my desktop background, yada yada. Iâd say easily for my first read-through of the manga and first two watches of FMAB, Edâs been my top favorite. He is a great character - someone with extraordinary desires to help others, but also someone with a dramatically fiery temper. Heâs great.
Edâs no longer my number one favorite, though. I think about someone else far more often now...
Roy Mustang #1. Obsessed Over
Iâm in Roy Mustang brain overload right now. Wayyyyyyy overload. For the last month heâs someone Iâm thinking about like, CONSTANTLY. When I was younger, Ed and I had more commonalities. But now I connect far more to Mustang.
Roy is an amazing character. Heâs hot in more ways than one and Despite being an unpopular figure in the manga world itself, heâs got an unusual, gravitating, charming, impressive charisma and presence toward him. When Roy is dorky, heâs hilarious. When Royâs cool and collected, heâs a badass. When Royâs in the middle of a fight, heâs knock-of-your-feet hardcore. When Royâs angry, heâs legitimately terrifying. When Royâs ambitious, heâs inspiring. Thereâs so much I could say about Roy, how amazing his character is, and on and on and on and on in ten thousand analyses of ten thousand words each. But Iâll try to stop here and just say... AF:NE:OGIN:FOQING:OEIN MUSTAAAAANNNNNGGG!!!
In short: if you ask me anything about Roy right now, Iâll jump into a stream of excited analyses and thoughts without hesitation and with a lot of screaming. Royai headcanons, good Roy scenes, anything. Iâm in love with this guy.
Alphonse Elric: #2. Fan Over
Iâve definitely done some Alphonse rants recently to friends about how important of a character and amazing of a personality Al is. One of the things that especially strikes me about Al is his good-naturedness. Al has been through hell, just like Ed. Ed demonstrates some sullenness and bitterness because of his trials, and frankly, thatâs how Iâd be, too. But Al, despite going through so much fucked up stuff... stays very positive in his heart and approach. Al remains a very genuine, sweet personality. Al easily could have been grouchy about not being able to eat food, but instead he turns this into a positive outlook by writing a list of things heâll enjoy once he gets his body back. Isnât that inspirational or what?
What Al has gone through would screw over so many people psychologically. Heâs lost his body and the ability to feel anything physically - humanity relies a lot on touch, so can you imagine living in a world completely void of that for three years? Heâs had someone die inside of him. Heâs been kidnapped several times. Heâs had a homonculus take over and control him. Thereâs so much that Al has gone through that would make people snap. Al is resilient. Of course we see him struggle emotionally, as anyone would in these circumstances, but we have to give him huge applause for making it through so much so well. Heâs extraordinarily mature and resilient for his age. Heâs impressive. And... as Iâve said before... inspirational.
Do not overlook the younger Elric brother! This kid has extraordinary alchemy talents! Amazing heart! So much resilience! So much goodness!!!
Riza Hawkeye #2. Fan Over
Riza is a VERY high two. Itâs hard to pick favorites in Fullmetal Alchemist (Iâve even listed âeveryoneâ as a favorite when someone asked me before, for good reason). But... I will say... Rizaâs definitely at the top of my list of FMAB faves.
Thereâs something genuinely interesting about her demeanor. Riza is calm, quiet, steady. I love her amazing sharpshooter abilities. I love her badass ways of kicking butt in various scenes. I love her loyalty to Mustang and the team. I love so many things about her. Riza is good stuff, VERY good stuff.

I am genuinely concerned that comic book youtubers are going to create a GamerGate situation where there are extremists who poison the mass perception of people who criticise comic books or certain decisions in general.
Like I have genuine problems with Amadeus Cho and Jane Foster being Hulk and Thor and I think Riri Williams and Miles Morales are bad characters (the latter being especially saddening because, unlike Riri, he had a strong initial concept powering him). I think Sam as Captain America was creatively problematic and that Marvel have been pulling the replacement hero thing for social/political reasons (and probably not sincere ones at that) as opposed to genuine creative ones. Similarly I think the America book is a lame super hero comic book and Gabby Rivera isnât a strong super hero comic book writer. Similarly I think Marvelâs modern editors and assistant editors really do tend to suck at their jobs right now.
But my rationales for all of those things honestly donât have much crossover with certain Youtube comic book commentators (Iâm sure youâve all seen the kind) and I actually disagree and believe in a lot of other types of characters and directions cut from the same kinds of cloths as those above examples.
I think Ice Man being gay made a certain amount of sense with his history and if you did have to pick a classical character to reveal as in the closet he was one of the best choices for it. We are in a position where Bobby could legitimately be given a strong romantic storyline and an iconic (for him, not necessarily within Marvel as a whole) love interest. I mean before Bendis had Jean out Bobby who honestly knew or cared who Bobbyâs (comic book, not movie) love interests were? Hardly anybody aside from hardcore X-Men fans and most of them would argue Polaris was really the big one for Bobby. But at the same time most of them shipped Polaris with Havok anyway so what did that matter?
Iâve said numerous times before Kamala Khan is the best new superhero character to come out of Marvel in the last 20 years. My problems with her series stem from the decompression alongside the fact that I donât think her villain pool has been managed as well as it needs to be to enable her to last long term.
Carol becoming Captain Marvel is something I find profoundly organic and logical, a brilliant stroke of character development that makes use of an iconic title by giving it to an iconic character who truly has claim to it. Look to me Carolâs outfit is always going to be the Ms Marvel outfit she wore for decades but at the same time to me Carolâs codename will always be Warbird, not Ms Marvel or Captain Marvel. Iâm just from that generation.
I think the general idea of temporarily having a black person become Captain America is interesting and understand the logic of making it Sam but at the same time I think the book never fulfilled itâs potential and ultimately Issiah Bradely or even Patriot wouldâve been a much more interesting choice. But at the end of the day I cannot accept the creative bankruptcy of replacing Steve for the THIRD time and doing it the SECOND time in less than 10 years.
I like Jane Fosterâs Thor outfit, there are moments and aspects to her stories I find interesting but the way the series went about it overly denigrated the real Thor (and yes I will call him the real Thor, it is literally his name and he is supposed to be the actual figure from Norse mythology). I mean he was literally called out as âunworthyâ and the reason for his unworthiness made no sense at all. He realizes the Gods are assholes so he loses his worthiness. That isnât how the hammer works, itâs just a binary âyou are worthy or you are notâ. Conviction in your personal beliefs doesnât matter or else countless bad guys would be able to lift the hammer too. Additionally there were times where he narrative divulged into cheap, shallow in-universe attempts to âcommentâ on the backlash against the concept. The Absorbing Man was at least somewhat exaggerating the complaints over a female Thor and at least dabbling in strawman arguments whilst Titaniaâs solidarity with Foster because she was stepping into the role of a man was utter out of character nonsense considering Titaniaâs arch nemesis is SHE Hulk. Jane consequently knocking out someone whoâd surrendered was also ill considered. And I also cannot get over how weâve been here before. Beta Ray Bill and Thunderstrike are testament to that. Once again creative bankruptcy.
Iâve spoken countless times before how I think Miles had a good concept and still has potential but heâs been mismanaged and currently sucks shit as a character and how Marvel and certain fans and certain media outlets building him up as the best thing since sliced bread (or at least as great as Peter Parker) is profoundly unearned.
I think the quality of editing at Marvel has clearly gone down hill but unless there really is some weird ass super Secret Empire conspiracy wherein Marvel went hardcore into hiring people because of their gender regardless of their qualifications, I donât think the reason for that decline in quality is due to some (but far from all) of the editors and assistant editors being women. Frankly Steve Wacker is/was a major editorial player for awhile and his only legitimate qualification for being a Spider-Man editor was he could get the product on the shelves on time. The editing present in that product and their overall quality was shit 99% of the time. The guy lacked sufficient knowledge, passion or understanding of the character to really edit Spider-Man properly. This is a guy who was an amateur stand up comedian before entering comic books and has to my knowledge zero writing experience so why the fuck he was qualified to edit anything is beyond me. Maybe the new slew of editors and assistant editors are the same bunch of unqualified morons but I donât think thatâs got much to do with their sex or gender. After all Ann Nocenti was a solid X-Men editor and Molly Lazer edited Spider-Girl which was obviously a brilliant book. And shit Jeanette Kahn was President and EIC of DC comics for over 20 years and MOST of the stuff under her tenure was baller as shit. John Byrne Superman. Frank Miller Batman. Perez Wonder Woman. Wolfman Titans. DeMatteis/Giffin JLI. Kyle Rayner Green Lantern. Vertigo. Milestone. Watchmen. Frankly she oversaw what was maybe the single best EIC tenure for DC EVER in terms of quality.
I gave up reading Coatesâ BP run because I found it dull but I think TâChalla SHOULD have a book along with Blade, Luke Cage, Shang Chi and Jessica Jones.
I think the America Chaves series was problematic as a superhero story but the times where it does focus on the normal life stuff are generally good.
I was very impressed by Spider-Gwen when she debuted and looked forward to her ongoing, even defended her debut issue until I realized the critics were ont he money and it sucked and continues to suck to this day. Itâs a profoundly shallow book but it could have been great and I supported it initially hoping it would be great.
I felt the Chelsea Cain Mockingbird series had moments of poor research, mischaracterisation and disingenuousness. I am specifically talking about how in issue #3 (I think) Cain uses Bobbi as a mouthpiece to criticise the lack of female representation within superhero comics. Okay cool. But she did it by essentially pretending that there never were any in the Marvel universe, that they got no respect in-universe and that Bobbi herself was at most a teenager growing up inspired by those male heroes whom she could never be like because she was male. Except there were female heroes, they did get in-universe respect (maybe not as much as was deserved but it wasnât like people forgot they existed) and Bobbi is clearly too old to have grown up with any of the heroes other than the WWII guys like the Invaders.Â
Similarly her retconning of the Phantom Rider thing in her final issue fixed one problem but did so utterly illogically whilst opening up multiple other problems. Look Iâd also retcon the Hell out of Phantom Rider gaslighting and raping Mockingbird if given the chance I hate that plotline. But Cain retconned it by just having Mockingbird say that the stuff we have clear on the page evidence of didnât actually happen. She was saying the colour blue is the colour red and always had been but it wasnât. And Cainïżœïżœïżœs new spin on that Phantom Rider thing essentially threw Hawkeye under the bus by making him profoundly insecure and an asshole, because heâd rather believe his wife was raped rather than she cheated on him. Not to mention if Cainâs story is to be believed Mockingbird let the man she was sleeping with die for exactly no reason. There were other times during Cainâs run where I felt she was mischaracterizing some people or else was being too on the nose about stuff.Â
But there were other times I thought the series was really funny, really action packed, i generally loved the pacing and I felt when it did cut more realistic (like the first issue when Bobbi is having a health check up) or in issue #3 when it was discussing the psychology of a sixth grade girl (even though said girlâs story had insufficient resolution, like did she go to jail or what?) it was incredibly refreshing. Truth be told a lot of the stuff in that series writing wise becomes easier to understand when you realize itâs partially a zany comedy and not really taking itself too seriously nor is it asking you to do the same, which is starkly different to say Spider-Gwenâs approach wherein it is playing stuff seriously but there is arbitrarily zany shit thrown in for the sake of it.
I think Laura becoming Loganâs successor makes sense but it doesnât mean itâs okay to just axe off Logan because heâs broken. FIX him and then down the line replace him. Lauraâs book as is frankly just...an okay X-23 book with a new costume. I never cared for Laura outside of X-Men Evolution or the Logan movie (where she was more endearing) anyway.
I didnât agree with the female exclusive screenings of the Wonder Woman film but I also felt Zeusâs involvement in her origin was an unacceptable compromising of the specific feminist ideas and messages Wonder Woman was supposed to represent. I felt the same way about Azzarelloâs run on the character which is where the Zeus origin came from and was happy Greg Rucka tried to fix that in his 2016 run.
Iâve said before a poc actor playing Peter Parker is fine and dandy in my book and I was very open to Zendaya possibly playing Mary Jane (until I saw the movie...ugh...). My only concerns were in a significant way having the characters change to reflect the realities of them now being poc.
Iâve suggested some basic ideas on how to maybe get more representation in Marvel and DC, including for queer, Trans and mentally ill characters and as Iâve seen it Iâve called shit out I found to be racist, sexist, homophobic, etc, e.g. I was disgusted by Civil War II killing off Rhodey and called out the way Cindy Moon was initially handled by Slott. And my frequent lambasting of MJâs depiction under Slott (especially in Superior #2) should I hope by this point go without saying.
So yeah my views donât line up with those of Diversity and Comics but nor do they line up with those of ComicsAlliance and their hordes either. But because of people like the former people like the latter are going to broadbrush label and demonize people like me. People who might SEEM like we agree with guys like D&C but actually weâre coming at it from a very different angle and we donât actually agree with their rationales 99% of the time.
But in the times we live in right now nuance is apparently as dead as Batmanâs parents.
Frankly as I get older I guess I see myself socially/politically speaking being more of a moderate when it comes to comic books...and right now that feels like a profoundly lonely place to be.

10 MCU Tattoos That Make You Feel Like A Superhero | ScreenRant
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has amassed a pretty massive fanbase during their decade-long existence. One of the best things about the superfans is their creative ability to show their love for the material they support. Cosplay is the most popular form of fan appreciation, but some go all out with something more permanent than a costume.
RELATED: Every Confirmed Upcoming MCU Project, Ranked By Fans' Excitement
Tattoos have been around for centuries. Nevertheless, they still continue to be used as a form of symbolic body art. For some hardcore Marvel fans, tattoos are a way of showing their love for the MCU in incredibly creative ways. So without further ado, here are 10 MCU tattoos that make you feel like a superhero.
10 The Winter Soldier
The death of Steve Rogers' best friend in Captain America: The First Avenger was an unexpected, heartbreaking scene. Fortunately, fans were thrilled to see him return as the truly terrifying Winter Soldier. Since that time, Bucky returned to his normal self, was brainwashed back into an assassin, finally got rid of the Winter Soldier, started living in Wakanda as the White Wolf, died, and then came back to life.
However, throughout all that confusing mess, he never let go of his deadly cybernetic arm (not even at Rocket's request). Therefore what better way to honor the poor soldier than to tattoo his own arm on to your own? This is exactly what Tumblr's @zayacv did, with an impressive attention to detail that makes it seem as if a large chunk of metal really did replace her upper arm.
9 Marvel-ous
What simpler way to show your appreciation for a brand than sticking its logo on your back. This man definitely thought that was the best option, and, honestly, the end product does look incredible. Instead of simply recreating the minimalistic red and white logo, he went for a more creative route, similar to what we get at the start of every Marvel movie. A familiar hero's face, in gorgeous detail, fills the inside of each letter.
RELATED: Marvel May Not Release An X-Men Movie Until Phase 6
Now, it is true that this isn't exactly an MCU tattoo per se, seeing as it features two X-Men (Deadpool and Wolverine, to be exact). However, the colorful logo sprawled across this human back, created by Italian artist Daniele Maiorano, is too awesome to ignore. Also, we probably only have to wait until Phase 5 for the Fox characters to join our beloved Avengers anyway.
8 A worthy tattoo
At a certain point during Endgame, Thor tells the team that lightning is what courses through his veins. Apparently, there is someone else who suffers from a similar condition and this gentleman right here has the tattoo to prove it. The drawing itself is far from incredible. A simple depiction of Thor's mighty hammer. It's the technique behind it that grants it a place in this list.
Using a special ultraviolet ink, Long House Tattoo in Denver created what is referred to as a black-light tattoo. These are basically tattoos that are invisible to the eye unless exposed to a black-light. In this case, the black-light transforms a boring-looking hammer on a regular arm, into a lightning-fueled limb, powered by Mjolnir itself.
7 Hail Hydra
While most Hydra agents tend to infiltrate silently as spies and undercover agents, this woman seems willing to show the world exactly where her allegiances lie. This impressive depiction of the infamous symbol that led Steve Rogers to frozen waters, Bucky Barnes to becoming the Winter Soldier, and the corruption of SHIELD stands out from what could have been a bland drawing.
Instead of a simple circular design with a flat image of a squid inside, the artist, Sean Kotnik, created a truly vivid tattoo. The colors and the purposefully blotted image gives it a very three-dimensional look. It's almost as if the symbol was stamped on to the arm with red blood and black ink.
6 Excelsior!
This tattoo by Anson Eastin is unlike the previous ones. That is, it's neither 3D, glow-in-the-dark, or sprawled over someones' back. Actually, it is a very typical leg tattoo. That's not to say that it isn't impressive, seeing as the entire limb is covered in hammers, shields, arc reactors, lightning, and... Avengers in general.

However, the one crucial detail that separates itself from the others is a simple handwritten addition to the image. A signature by no other than Stan "The Man" Lee. For a Marvel fan, especially one who enjoys showing his appreciation through his own skin, there is no greater honor than forever carrying an authentic signature by the creator himself. Even more so now that he is gone...
5 I am Iron Man
He had to come up at some point. How could one forget the MCU's central character, the one that gave birth to it all? Up until Iron Man 3, Tony Stark wasn't just bound by his suits, but he was also chained to a piece of technology that prevented the shrapnel (from the bombing in Iron Man) from entering his heart.
As is repeatedly mentioned in Far From Home, Tony Stark's death begun the search for a new Iron Man. This man looks ready to take on the job. This incredible piece of art by Chad Mcdonald looks so real, it's scary. The pulsing blue light in the center of his chest, plus the added infected veins that surround it gives it a truly vivid look. All he needs is a suit to make use of its power.
4 Comedy bugs
This tattoo (or should I say tattoos) created at Sweety Creepy Tattooatelier are, like the movie itself, funny and small in size. Unlike the serious ultra-realism of the previous entries, this one is based solely on comedy. The image itself is obviously nothing special. All it is is literally two dots, two arrows, and the title of a movie written on two arms. The concept behind it is what makes it so cool.
Not only is it a hilarious poke at the hero's sizes, but each arm actually belongs to different people. These are two friends/lovers (could be either one really) who used their combined upper limbs to create one sole MCU tattoo. Scott and Hope would love to see this.
3 Earth's Mightiest Heroes
"Hello, can I help you?". "Yes. Do you think... Would it be possible to transform my entire back into the Avengers: Age of Ultron poster?" Turns out, it is. Instead of going for a simple arm tattoo of his favorite Marvel hero, this man took off his shirt to replace his caucasian back with a mix of blues, reds, greens, and golds.

Iron Man front and center, Captain America above him holding his iconic shield, Thor and Hulk below them, and Black Widow and Hawkeye in the background. In addition to this, the otherwise empty spaces are covered in clouds and lightning, and the subject's shoulder showcases a group of alien Leviathan arriving from a portal in the sky. No doubt this is a superfan.

Looks like we're back to ultra-realism again with this unusual, yet awesome tattoo. The Infinity Gauntlet was teased ever since they first mentioned Infinity Stones in the MCU. It wasn't until a post-credits scene in Age of Ultron that we finally got a quick glimpse of Thanos' glove, but we still had to wait until Infinity War to see it filled with all six colored gems.
In honor of the Mad Titan, Revelation Tattoo created its very own Infinity Gauntlet, with colored Stones and everything. The supposedly metal screws really do resemble metal screws that are popping out of the skin. The Infinity Stones (especially the Mind Stone right in the middle) bulges off the hand. It's not a complete Gauntlet, but it looks real enough to wipe out half the universe.
1 Avengers... assemble
This is the simplest, most boring tattoo on the list. Actually, there is no reason why it should even be included. Even a drawing of Groot on someone's foot is more interesting than this. However, unlike all the other entries, this one is defined, not by the drawing itself, but by its history. Around the time Infinity War was released, the original six Avengers cast each decided to get themselves inked.
All of them (except Mark Ruffalo) got the same symbol tattoed on their body by artist Joshua Lorde. The number "6" is clearly shown, as are the various symbols that represent each Avenger (although, those are a bit harder to identify). Robert Downey Jr is done, Chris Evans is unlikely to return, and the rest will soon follow. Yet, this symbol will remain with them for the rest of their lives, forever making them... The Avengers.

thatâs a party platter it serves 12 people
avengers done been assembled spoilers below the cut ramble ramble garble garble hyperbole and capslockÂ
Caveats(?) as it were? My reactions are my own and not a judgment of anyone elseâs feelings, thoughts, or reactions. There are like, many paths to the rainbow, dude. It ainât that deep here for the most part. In this movie especially, there were a lot of moments where my feelings can be summed up with:
Also, Steve and Natasha are my babies my faves I love them most and best.Â
Overall, liked MUCH MUCH better than IW. IW focused way the hell too much on people IDGAF about. This one was about the OGs and people I care about so I am here. for. that.Â
Has me thinking reallllllly how much of all of this is about getting that Moment On Screen. The âavengers assembleâ or steve with the hammer or w/e. Things as âfansâ we all have these images of in our imaginations or have seen on page and grown to see as iconic. And really, so very much of all of the Avengers movies mostly seem to be plots strung along to get to those moments? Which, I mean is it what it is. Thatâs what comic book team up Event Books are about. Weâre getting an 18 months crossover event stuffed into a couple of hours BASICALLY. This movie, even more than the others, felt most like a comic book.Â
I yelled âfuck youâ at least twice at the screen to Tony in the first 20 minutes. The entire thing between him and Steve after Tony gets back was so very not a good look.Â
I mean Tony was worse and then better and god as a character he is just so much better in HIS OWN MOVIES. JESUS GOD. Let me stop at IM3 and sing Adele at that. I mean, heâs dead now which works for his arc within the avengers movies. Iâm glad he got to form a baby? Ugh. I still find the Iron Man --> Spidey thing odd in the MCU since Spidey is the og really here, yâall. IDK MAN.Â
âHEY QUEENSâ MY HEART IT HURTS.
All of Steve and Natashaâs interactions made me clap with JOY. It made me want so much MORE of team Capâs initial time on the run and then afterward with the two of them. UGH. The fact that Natasha is what Steve is crying about in that crying scene from the trailer? JUST LEAVE ME IN THE ROAD TO DIE OKAY.
Which gets to, I am super very glad I both waited and was spoiled. There were a lot of things I would have been less down with if it had been a LE TWIST! if I didnât know. Such as the failed mission to kill thanos. Also, if Natashaâs death had been unspoiled for me I probably would have gotten the fuck up and walked out the theater yelling OH FUCK ALL YâALL.
SAME BUT DIFFERENT FOR LEBOWSKI THOR. EVEN KNOWING IT WAS COMING I WAS STILL BASICALLY THE THIRSTIEST FUCKING BITCH IN THE UNIVERSE WHEN HE WAS REVEALED AND EVERY FUCKING MOMENT AFTER THAT ESPECIALLY WHEN HE SUITED THE FUCK UP. Had I not been prepared I probably would have thrown my bra at the screen. I mean yâall my fucking husband for life is jack black i gots a type. my eyes are just rolling back in my head w/e w/e w/e Iâll get to Thor more later I just gotta thirst all over this god damn page because UGHa;ldafdaadf9df;/ ; I KNOW WHAT IâM ABOUT, SON.
if you arenât here for wanting ten million pages of lebowski thor and bearded cap fucking then idekÂ
Speaking of the porn. The following are things I want: Five year gap Steve/Natasha, Natasha/Carol, STEVE/NATASHA/CAROL, Thor/Valkyrie, Carol/Valkyrie, Carol/Thor/Valkyrie (GOD BLESS YOU, TESSA AND BRIE)
CAROL DANVERâS SHEER DEEP POWERFUL LESBIAN POWER AND ENERGY MADE ME SWOON EVERY TIME SHE WAS ON SCREEN. I loved her interactions with everyone of course. Her eye roll at Rhodey at the start was grate. Enjoyed what interactions we had of her and Steve A LOT. I clapped when he radioed to Danvers during the big scene.Â
SCOTT LANG BEST AVENGER OR MOST BEST AVENGER Y/MFY/CAPâS ASS IS THE BEST ASS SIR ROGERS CAPTAIN SIR???!!!Â
Really, Scott is and was the best and I just loved him so much. Definately one of the characters that can keep me engaged with the MCU going forward (see also: Carol and TâChalla)
I have so many frustrated and angry feelings about Natashaâs death. I get what people are saying about her and full circle etc. But I think thatâs all bullshit really. It is a narrative choice to make that her arc? Like, her entire thing was she had things to make up and redeem herself for. Tonyâs entire thing was that he was a selfish dick that learned to be unselfish. Natasha didnât have a self-sacrifice problem. SHE WAS RAISED TO BE A GOD DAMN WEAPON. SHEâS A SURVIVOR because thatâs what a weapon does and there is a huge difference in that. I get they needed to rid themselves of several of the OG Avengers so Dead Tony, Time Jump Steve, and Natasha being dead? I just. Iâm too tired to get into hardcore, but I am mad. I will be mad and I will stay mad. Like, I get why they did it, but the writers MADE THAT CHOICE and so I am perma fucking pressed about it.Â
I honestly dgaf about the GotG and anything related to them and any moment with any of those characters, other than the Rabbit and Thor together, was basically dead airspace. I just DONâT FUCKING CARE. So every minute with them was wasted except for Thor. Oh THOR. Honestly, talk about a dude that started at the bottom for me and now we at the top. (THATâS WHAT YOU FUCKING GET, TONY STARK FOR BEINGdl;af). Ahem. I feel like Thorâs arc made sense to me? Like he gets to go be the sort of person heâs always wanted to be who he is inside which is PROBABLY a well meaning and heroic semi-frat boy who wants to play with his Rabbit friend and have adventures and drink beer? His entire thing has been about how much he was or wasnât able to be a good person v. a good king etc and idk IT WORKED FOR ME and he had one of the better OG endings imo. Also, like THOR HAS SEEN SOME SHIT? SOME REAL ASS SHIT THAT HE GETS TO HAVE SOME FUCKING FEELINGS ABOUT? AND REAL ASS SHIT THAT HIS LIFE UP UNTIL SHIT GOT REAL DID NOT PREPARE HIM FOR AT ALL? Like, I made a C on a paper in grad school and drank an entire bottle of champagne and fell off a chair. I GET IT. (I get a lot of this in the meta context comes from Hemsworth being fucking miserable with what they were doing with Thor because it SUCKED and people realizing that heâs fucking HILARIOUS and rolling with that). Also, a lot of the upset people seem to be really attached to Loki and liek w/e, but who hurt you?Â
Speaking of OGs. The entire Bruce/Hulk thing was weird. I get they were real into what they could do special effects wise but... idk man. I wasnât here for it?
No one cares about Hawkeye. I mean I know there are people that say that but like. Him?
ON YOUR LEFT, CAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU DONâT LOVE SAM WILSON AND SHIP HIM AND STEVE IDK WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WHAT YOUR PRIORITIES ARE?Â
SAM WILSON CAPTAIN AMERICA IS ALL I HAVE WANTED AND NEEDED OTHER THAN THE OTHER THINGS I HAVE ALSO WANTED AND NEEDED.
Which gets us to the last two and biggest two things: Steve and MCUâs entire time travel theory? They even SAY the BttF time travel theory and hint at the multiverse/DC theory of time travel. They seem to be hitting to something closer to the Umbrella Academy where what is going to happen is going to happen except?????????? HOW IT DOESNâT but it also can split into other realities but only because of the stones or? (This is also where the entire event book crossover Big Bad is always annoying because a) everything bad ends up being about that and b) there is way the hell too much bg mythology to care about. Hydra - Nazis MAKES SENSE! Evil Grimace abuses his daughters for fun and profit and wants to make the universe great again but thinks LotR didnât go far enough with the jewelry thing???) AHEM. I mean, I got to a point where I was like, âthis is the most 2019 movie because evil is inevitable because Hope is a Lie and Evil Always wins UNLESS YOU CAN BEND TIME TO YOUR WILL except nope not even that HA HAâ So, I canât really lockdown the internal logic completely on the MCU theory of time travel. It is sort of making sense until we get to Steveâs ending?Â
SO.Â
I have no dislike of this. It is cute. It is fine. It is what Steve deserved. Hell, it is what Peggy deserved. There are other ways it could have went and I would have been down with that too? Iâve been prepared for Steve to die for like 4 years now so you know, this is fine. It removes Cap from the action equation so CEvans like ScarJo and RDJ can be free. I think, if youâre inclined that way there are a ton of character questions you can ask there? Things to pick at and find interesting. I enjoyed Steveâs entire thing this movie immensely (his interactions with 2012 self were great. Him using Bucky against himself I thought was amazing). But here is where I start questioning the time logic which can be summarized with:
WHAT ABOUT POPSICLE STEVE?
Is there a Steve floating out in the ocean still to be found in 2011? There would need to be a Cap from 2011-2019 to put other people in place. You donât have Sam and Bucky (for example) where they are at UNLESS THERE IS CAP AT THAT POINT??????? Which makes sense because there has to be a Steve to go back to Peggy (AWWW MY HEART IT HURTS), SO does it reform the mobius strip of the timeline to where Steve was ALWAYS in the past with Peggy (but on the downlow???????? WAS HE JUST TOTES NOT STEVE CARTER HUSBAND OF PEGGY CARTER and IDK taught P.E. in Brooklyn???) and so it basically reforms itself to where what was happened always happened but it MEANS that popsicle Steve and Steve from the future that is now in the past exist at the same time and THEN STEVE HAS TO NOT MAKE OUT IN HIS UNDERWEAR WITH HIS OWN MOM????? Or? Like, Hulk even says that when you mess with time, time messes back what are the consequences? Are there? At some point wouldnât THAT cause some sort of weird paradox? I realize Iâm asking SRS questions about fictional time travel so really who is the broken weirdo here me or Marvel (MARVEL OBVIOUSLY?). Iâve read a lot of theories on this and explanations, but none of which really satisfy me.Â
and REALLY isnât that the most comic book thing of it all? The points donât count and the rules donât matter. I mean that in the best way possible, really. Fine, it was a yellow bug in Hal Jordanâs brain all along. Oh okay, Barry Allenâs grandson from the future? SURE WHATEVER. I eagerly look forward to ten years from now some fucking fetus getting cast as a new Captain America and being able to yell at whippersnappers how the only REAL CAPTAIN AMERICA IS CHRIS EVANS I HAVE BEEN THIRSTING CORRECTLY SINCE 2009 YOU PUNK ASS LITTLE BITCHES.Â

 wanderingthroughwickford ...
Yeah, Iâm like your friends - âhardcore Marvel fan with little to no interest in DCâ - but against all prior expectations I really loved Wonder Woman. I liked GotG and Dr Strange a lot too, but my favourite MCU movies are probably the Avengers and Captain America ones. Itâs a very wide universe, with big shifts in tone and setting, so thereâs something for everyone, I think.
Youâd get along with ElÄ«na and KatrÄ«na perfectly. ElÄ«na loves the Avengers. Her favourite though is Hawkeye (so much so she wants to get a tattoo to remind of him).
Iâll admit, Iâm pretty biased in favour of GotG and Strange. GotG 2 was the first Marvel movie I watched with my uni squad, and Dr Strange brought me wonder, hope and fun during a period when I was feeling...really uncheery, so Iâm really defensive of these films (not to the point of attacking people who disagree, of course, but still - I really adore it this much). In my defence though - Strange is another problematic fave I have, it looks great, itâs both funny, emotional and action-packed, and it really inspired me. Thatâs a lot of reasons to get attached to it.
I feel like Iâve rambled about them for long enough, so... As for other characters, I am very fond of Thor and Iron Man. Again, Iron Man movies bring a lot of good memories, plus, Tony Stark is a fantastic character. In terms of superpowers, though, Thor is my favourite (although heâs a great character too, of course, but controlling thunder and wielding Mjolnir is pretty awesome). Also, heâs based on a deity thatâs important to me as a Pagan person, so, suprise surprise, bias.
