one thing i don’t get is people who forget to cancel subscriptions. not in like an oh i’m better than you way because i Never forget i just have i think a minor complex about checking my credit card statements and making sure i don’t get weird charges so the idea that you’re being charged for something and you don’t know what it is every month ad infinitum is so foreign to me.

Where to start~

Now first off, I'd just like to say that these may not apply to everyone. Each person is unique and has their own intentions. These are all relating to what has assisted me the most thus far.

As for what I'll be covering:

Savings, budgeting, extra cash

looking for vehicles

balancing work and school while planning

mapping out your trip

your time/priorities

showering, refueling, camp sites, etc.

steps you can take to learn about van travel

what to do with your things and what to take with you

rules to set for the road

pit stops, attractions, hidden gems

why you're doing it

First up, money managing:

If you're expecting a relatively non stressful/comfortable trip- you'll need to pay attention to your spending habits. A good start is budgeting. Looking over all of your weekly, monthly, and yearly spending. I went all the way down to the specific foods I eat regularly and how much I spend on food each week. Try to be as thorough as possible- noting subscriptions you forgot about, free trials you haven't cancelled yet, bad spending habits to break, how expensive a certain brand of something is. Anything you don't deem essential I would recommend trying to get rid of. Going so far as looking up how cheap certain things are based on where you buy them or if a subscription has any discount codes online, if you think you'll continue using something then get that yearly subscription so you don't have to worry about extra expenses while away AND save a bit of money. Cut as many corners as you can. Even if that means *forgetting* to tell a certain someone that you still have access to their shudder account. Once you've cut down to as little monthly expenses as possible, It's time to look at what you can put away each month. I'll give you an example~ I made a very messy rough sketch of my expenses as I jotted everything down when I first started budgeting just a little over a month ago.

I'm a bit frugal when it comes to my spending. I also live with a family so it's likely I would spend more money on food once I'm on the road as I'll be providing for my own food entirely then. So because of that, I rounded up, to say I'd likely spend- $100 a month on groceries. And since I'll be with a friend, we agreed $200 a month total. But we don't have to get into his expenses because I'm sure a lot of you are budgeting for yourself only. Now onto subscriptions~ *I use Rocket Money(formerly Truebill) for keeping track of my subscriptions.* I jack my mom's netflix and prime and my friend's hulu and shudder... so I don't really have much for subscriptions lol. But, in reality, I'd likely only pay for one of those if I had to. The ones I do pay for though- I have Spotify with the student discount: $4.99m And my little sister's roblox: $4.99m Annual plan with maps.roadtrippers.com: $24.99y Yearly planet fitness black card: $49.99y And lastly, the yearly duolingo membership: $79.99y I got rid of a decent amount of subscriptions to help cut down on expenses for myself. So that makes $110 I can expect to spend on the road and $80 I'm spending at the moment every month. Now gas~ For this, all I used was google maps and an mpg calculator. If you don't already know your vehicles mpg(miles per gallon) It's no big deal at all- Just look up your make and model(ex. "Jeep Patriot 2012 mpg") though mine's got a few issues so she only gets about 16-20mpg. With your expected gas mileage, it's good to round down on how far it gets. You want to anticipate the worst. Now I head over to google maps and I'll put in the trips I take daily(home to school, school to the store, home to friends house) and I'll make sure I account for the ride home. Then just times it by how many times you make those trips every week. So lets say I drive to school twice a week, work three times a week, grocery store once. Work: 49mi x 3 School: 45mi x 2 Store: 11mi These are all round trip fyi. That's roughly 250 miles a week and 1,000 a month. If you couldn't tell, I kinds live out in the middle of nowhere. Not to mention my job isn't always in the same place. Sometimes it's an hour out. But, I have a pretty good setup! I live with many many people that all head into town regularly. In exchange for house labor I get free hitches most days and end up only filling up our gas tank a few times a month. But let's calculate anyways. If you live in a big city and don't get to get up in speed when driving, aim for the lower amount on your mpg. If you drive a long ways, especially on the highway, aim for higher on your mpg. I'll say 18mpg for myself. (don't forget to look up local gas prices on google maps! here, the cheapest is about $3.35 atm)

So that would be my monthly expense otherwise. But since I only pay a few times a month, we'll say $50 instead. (I recommend using this same mpg calculator method for calculating your trip!) Now onto my rent, It's $900 total. Though again, same with the gas, I do projects for my landlord to lower it. At the moment, I'm removing his cabinet doors, sanding all the shelves and doors, fixing hinges, caulking and painting them all, so this month my rent is $500. I try to bring it down to that every month with some kind of project or two. We've figured out what I spend every month on my essentials: $630 Let's go to what is earned every month~ I can only work three(3) shifts each week because of school right now. Each shift is between 8-10 hours so we can average it out and say I work 27 hours a week(9hrs daily). Typically on a 9 hour shift, I'll make $150 a day. $150x3, $450x4=$1,800 My current goal is being able to set aside $1,000 a month into savings. $1,000 to savings $630 to bills $170 left over for takeout, trip to the movies, fast food, and whatever else for the whole month. This may not seem like a lot for some but I was definitely not anticipating this good of a number when I told myself to figure out a way to put away a thousand dollars a month. This number will very likely be different for everyone. People have different expenses and goals than me. Many people have dependents like kids or pets. Others have higher or cheaper rent, car payments, lesser or higher paying jobs. It all depends. That's why it's good to figure out where all your moneys going and budget down to what's important to you. It doesn't matter if that means its a must for you to get a cheap coffee everyday or if you can't get rid of a good handful of subscriptions. That's why I recommend budgeting sites and trying to find discount codes. Just looking up a code for something can bring you to one. And don't forget to plan for those annual subscriptions! (Calendar!!)

Now, a good way to make some extra cash~

A few options: selling your things, fundraising, starting a side hustle. For the "side hustle", I'm working on this! I'm trying to create a sort of business online. I want to help people and give them easy solutions to the problems and questions they have while also inspiring them to stay motivated. I'm also looking into copywriting as my mom did that for a bit. I'll try to make a separate post about this one more in depth. Fundraising; an easy way to allow people to offer their support. This by no means requires you to beg for money from people. Simply creating a GoFundMe and adding the link to your socials is opening the door for people in a good place to just throw a few bucks your way. I too was a bit hesitant at first. Then I thought "there's a lot of abundant people out there that would be happy to forward someone's dream". Just do it! You're not begging for money just by applying for scholarships and broke people don't have a trust fund to fall back on so we may as well accept some help if it's offered. Sell your shit! I know how hard it can be to get rid of cool shit sometimes. Especially if you're only doing it for money. But if it's not sentimental or being used greatly- you should consider it's importance. I just listed a bunch of old trading/playing cards, albums, posters and others on facebook marketplace because I haven't even touched them in months. Some not in years! Why did I still have them?? I was even sad as I started taking the pictures. Because it felt like I was throwing out my old self. But really, I'll always be every part of me. I'm always gonna be 20, 17, 6, 15 and every other age I've been. Just cause I don't have some dusty old cards anymore doesn't mean that old me is gone. She's just doing even cooler things now.

Long story short, I have come across the rent house story at jib 2017? I don't understand how it's about cockles when Jensen said that Jared and Misha were sharing a room and he was away in another room.

So, that story was told at JIB 8 at the end of the j2 panel when Misha came on stage to start his panel.

The panel has been analyzed by some amazing people here and here.

Please read those posts they have been analyzed so extensively I don't believe there's anything more I can add.

But since you asked why I think it was about Cockles and not Mishalecki. I had to rewatch the whole video all over again and it gave me second hand embarrassment.

So here's why I think it was about Cockles and not Mishalecki:

Misha asks whether j2 held each other and cried at the season 12 finale when Cas died and Jared says he was sick the entire time they were filming so he doesn't remember much then Jensen intersects and stalkers through a weird attempt at a joke that didn't land. He tries too hard to make his and Misha dude bro moments and it doesn't work. Jared doesn't have to try, it effortless because there's nothing to hide. (1.20)

The second thing I noticed is after Jensen's awful joke, he pulls Misha a seat, offers him [Misha] a drink, Misha declines that one and Jensen drinks it then pours him a drink from the same glass he drank from. (Yeah friends do that, sometimes) (2.20). I'm establishing a baseline here, trying to explain why I think it's cockles and not Mishalecki, bear with me.

Jared pulls away his chair from Jensen like he's excluding himself from the pair (couple) intentionally. Says a lot. (2.20)

Once Jared starts talking the story and Jensen goes to sit down after handing Misha his drink, he whispers something to Misha and they both smile. Jared is oblivious and tells the very strange story that no one had been able to decipher because it's too complex and we know they are lying about something.

The way Misha's voice pitched when he was imitating Jensen asking, "how many rooms did you say this place had?" And how he says Jensen had woken up early to go play golf. So if he wasn't in the house and he came with Jared, how did he get up early from the house that they visited at night after filming? Make it make sense.

Jensen saying he was in a whole different room while Misha was in the his other room that he slept in while Jared was on the floor. I mean, why couldn't Jensen sleep on the floor and let Jared take the bed in the other room since he was sick. Or why couldn't Misha and Jared share a bed? It's rather cruel to let a sock person who has work in the morning sleep on the floor. Something is not adding up here.

After Jensen says that, Misha counters with, "you had been resting after what we had been through." And Jensen chuckles, shakes his head in disbelief, nods and says, "I needed it" Please note Jared whispering something to Jensen at that moment and watch Misha's expression and how he fudgets with the microphone.

Now what gets me is more what is not said than what is said. They said so much without saying anything at all.

Misha and Jared say they'll edit the story as they go and then Jared says Daniela is telling them time's up (go away Daniela, she's like the Bob Singer of Cons) but Misha continues anyway, Jensen looks like he's internally screaming "unbelievable" and he even rolls his eyes. But Jared ays "fuck it" and goes with it and joins Misha in telling the story

Jensen tries really hard not to laugh when Jared says, "we go back to Misha's place" I wonder what's so funny about it. Misha and Jared are stoic but Jensen seems uneasy and like he knows they are lying but they have to keep the secret.

Jared says how they drank and went to bed but Jensen intersects to say how since there were very few places to sleep.so they decided to stay up. But Jared contradicts him, and you can tell he's being genuine here, and says they stayed yo then went to bed. I love hmwhen a pretty little liar is caught in a lie. Oh the smell of deceit is in the air, why all the cover ups Jensen? What are you hiding? I think Jared knows he fucked up because he gets this "oh shit" look. He's not a very good liar is he?

Jensen talks about being in the other room And Jared asks "Is this the day of or the night of" so what I got from this is, Jensen slept in two different rooms during the day and at night remember when he said "Misha was in the his other room that he slept in"? Yeah this is so confusing but there are so many lies here.

Jensen doesn't let either Misha nd Jared talk as he makes annoying snoring noises and called Mishalecki animals. My question is Jensen, 1) how do you know Misha slept through the snoring if you were in the other room down the hall if Misha's bedroom door was locked? Did you try to wake him, or were you laying next yo him and you woke up when you heard snoring from Jared who was sleeping o the floor next to you two in bed together? The way he insists he was down the hall in a closed door bedroom then Jared and Misha look at him like "sure, Jan."

Now what I don't get is when Jared says he had been put to the test the night before and Jensen says he can sleep through anything. Sir, how do you know that he can sleep through anything? Also what did Misha wake up for Jared? We need to know. 😀 also why did Jensen look so happy about that as he leans his body towards Misha who is sitting awkwardly far away from him at this point?

What's true and what's not. I wanna believe. Me too Jared. I wan a believe.

What makes me think this story might be rehearsed is when Jared refers to himself in the third person.

Now this next part is my favourite. Jensen us way too far removed from the whole thing.

I think Jensen and Misha got a place for when they were filming and when Jared got sick and couldn't make it back home because it was late, they invited him over. That's why Jensen got up early to play golf. Then there's Jared asking "the day of or the night of".

The other thing is Jensen stating that stayed up so as not to address the sleeping arrangements but Jared forgetting what they rehearsed said they went to bed. So Jensen jumps on that gun and says Misha and Jared shared Misja's other room that he slept in but Jensen was in another room? The room they didn't talk about much...sure Jan.

This got way too long. I honestly believe that Jensen shared the bed with Misha and Jared slept beside them on the floor and that's why Jensen knew Misha was sleeping in a locked room and he heard Jared snoring to the point of him waking up and wondering how Misha was sleeping amidst all that snoring.

I also find it weird that they let their sick friend sleep on the floor. Doesn't add up. It would've made more sense if Misha or Jensen gave Jared the bed and they slept on the floor or sofa or shared a bed if they are so straight, right? But no they apparently had different rooms but they were not enough rooms. What's the truth Jensen?

The thing that I don't get is the "He can sleep through anything. He had been put to the test the night before." "He woke up for..." "when you nudged him..."

The other thing I find suspiscious is how Jensen is removed from the story in the morning. Misha and Jared were fighting over the phone and laptop. So where was Jensen? He inserted himself to say that he was having coffee looking at them but I don't know, sounds vague.

Now the most suspiscious thing is the porn thing. Jared says Misha was in the shower. Jared was upstairs watching t.v. If he was with Jensen, he would've said so. The most peculiar thing is that he happened to land on a porn site that had a "boys in the shower scene" at the exact time Misha was in the shower? What are the odds. He then says it was "boys and their butts" I find this whole thing strange. Then the way Misha says it was very very very very graphic bathroom sex. I mean what was so graphic about the sex that it needed all those superlatives? Unless he was actually experiencing it. Also, Jensen's reaction here seems like he is remembering somerhing he shouldn't and he is not happy that his friends are talking about it. Also his "that peeked your interest?" When Jared mentions Boys in the shower is weird. Jensen doesn't mention where he was when Misha was showering or Jared was watching the porn.

To reiterate my point, when Jared says he subscribed because there was an offer or something, Misha said it was a monthly subscription, Jared agrees but Jensen insists it was an annual subscription. I mean he wasn't there unless he was. I think that the very graphic bathroom sex was Jensen and Misha, Jared heard them and decided to exert revenge. So he made a gay porn subscription under Misha's name.

Big Troupe Announcements! Big Troupe Summer!

Hello, everyone! Lord Atos Sunhart here! For those of you who aren’t aware, Fehl had stepped down last year from Troupe related duties due to her own life becoming much more demanding, and so I returned to the director’s seat once again. I’ve been back for about a year, but we’ve kind of laid a little low since my return due to a lot of restructuring and our desire to try a few new ideas out that are coming along slowly but surely!

We have some awesome projects in the works, some of which won’t be ready for some time, and some that we’re excited to bring you much sooner! But we can’t QUITE open the curtains for a peek just yet. Before anything, I’d like to make a series of announcements about some of our projects this Summer, starting with the most important one of all:

The Troupe Is Casting! 

Looking at some of the last posts made on this ye olde tumblr I guess it’s not a surprise that the troupe is indeed casting once more. In the past, it was due to not really having enough active people to pull off a large show with, but now, times have changed a bit, and we’re looking for people to make our shows even better and more frequent than ever!

What we’re looking for;

* Any race/gender/faction! Yes, we hire Alliance as well! In the era of Discord and cross faction RP, there’s no reason we have not to. Though, we are overloaded on elves at the moment and would kinda love a tauren or any Alliance character

* Obviously the character should be a good fit for the group! We’re not really looking for a serial murderer warlock who tries to sacrifice our members to the great Murloc Gods at the first chance they get. We’re not too picky here, but there are some characters that just don’t work terribly well with our concept.

* Available to take part in events during most of our performing days, which tend to be weekends, starting around 6:00 PM server. We base all our event times on server time.

* Someone who, behind the character, is friendly, patient, and above all else, mature. The clear rule of “don’t be an asshole” applies in this guild (and I’ll explain what that means below), and we have a zero drama tolerance policy. We are all adults who pay a monthly subscription to a greedy corporation to play with their toys, I think the last thing we want is to relive middle school in our 20s and 30s.

* Someone with a desire to help make memorable, exciting events for others to enjoy. While we play the part of celebrities, and being in the spotlight is a lot of fun, ultimately we want someone who, behind the character at least, does it for the enjoyment of others and not for personal gain or clout. We’re not clout chasers. We are proud of how long we’ve been performing and how hard we work, but ultimately we do this for our audience’s enjoyment.

* Communication is important! We aren’t a hardcore raiding guild, and thus we won’t be upset if you tell us you have to miss a rehearsal night or have a family emergency.. But if you know ahead of time, we really want someone who will let us know they can’t make it to an event so we can plan around it.

Furthermore, it should be said that while we normally do not require a person leave their guild to join us, this time around we’re looking for more to wear the guild tag above their heads, at least for this recruitment effort. Above all of these, the most important key point is the ‘don’t be an asshole’ policy. In the past I didn’t think it needed to be explained, but things we’ve been through in recent months compels me to explain what I mean by this; no homophobic behavior, racist behavior, transphobic behavior, harassment, pedophilia and other such illegal and morally vile behavior will be tolerated in our guild, period. But I’m sure you’re asking, what’s in it for me? Well, the benefits of working with the Tirisfal Theatre Troupe are, but not limited to;

* Being part of a near decade-old (8 years this October) guild that through thick and thin has stood the test of time!

* Working alongside some extremely talented, fun, humorous, and creative minds!

* Getting to make people smile and be a positive part of the community! 

* Taco Tuesdays. This is a lie, don’t believe me.

* Helping an already fun concept become even better as we grow and adapt to the ever changing nature of this game and its community!

* Adding “Actor/Actress” to your long series of titles in your TRP Profile. Maybe somewhere between “Lord of the Dance” and “Wrecker of your Shit”! Don’t be bashful, we know you have it in there somewhere.

Anniversary Bash 2021 Officially Planned! With a Twist

Those of you who have followed us for some time are likely aware of our annual celebration we hold on the anniversary of our first major public performance! This has traditionally been held on the third Friday of every October, so that it lines up perfectly with Hallow’s End starting. While we have had on-off years, and even said in the past we would never do it again (Insert I was crazy that time meme here), it’s pretty clear that at least every other year we seem to take to it again with new ideas. Honestly, we LOVE these yearly parties, despite how much stress they put us under, and we’re going to announce it earlier this year just so people know; yes, yes there WILL be a bash this year!

Things are going to be a little different this year, though. This October will actually have 5 Fridays in it due to...well...the calendar! It conspires against us, dammit! Because the third Friday falls in place before the Hallow’s End events are set to start, we will instead be bumping it up one week to the 22nd. So, there you have it! Our Big Bash will be on the 22nd of October! We’ll be making a full announcement about it later this Summer, and honestly, I think folks are going to really like the fun we have planned for it. So if this is something you’re looking forward to early, or you just like making sure your calendar events are always filled out, please make a mark for

Hellsqueal Squeals Again, Plus Winter’s Veil In July?

This Summer we’ll be getting back to our roots and bringing Hellsqueal back for another round. The Trilogy will rise again, and you won’t want to miss it! This time we’ll be performing it for our audiences on both sides of the factional fence and making some revisions to the script, but long time fans needn’t worry! Hellscream is still the same boisterous buffoon he’s always been.

Also, we’re bringing you an interesting new concept no one has EVER thought of before! ...well, okay, that’s a lie, but Greatfather Winter needn’t send me a lump of coal in my in-game mailbox for that one! The TTT will be hosting a Winter’s Veil themed party IN JULY! Don your gaudy sweaters, get ready to meet Greatfather Winter, take part in a sled race, and get ready to watch a completely out of season showing of It’s A Wonderful Unlife! Some lucky attendees may even receive a gift! The date for this and for Hellsqueal’s trilogy are yet to be announced, but they will be unveiled very soon!

Even though we never left, it feels good to be back at full strength again and pushing hard to give everyone the quality entertainment we pride ourselves on! Price: The annual fee is pretty similar. Typically you always pay a bit more when you first register and then your annual fee will be around 4,000 to 5,000 yen which is really not a lot if you think about it. Hikaru's fan club is currently the most expensive but you do have the option to sign up for a monthly subscription which is very beneficial if you do not want to comit to a fan club for an entire year.

Platform: Wakana's fan club is hosted on the same platform/website (SKIYAKI) as Kalafina's "Harmony" (discontinued) and Yuki Kajiura's "FictionJunction Station". The connection with Bitfan is very convenient to watch live streams. Overall, the site is very pretty and offers a lot of options. To sign up you do need a Japanese address and a credit card. Keiko's fan club is just a very basic website provided by her agency Tristone. I don't particularly like it because there is no "My Page" with all of your member info. Once again, you will need a Japanese address and a credit card to register. They are using Lawson Ticket for payments which is a bit confusing. Hikaru's fan club is only available as smartphone app (C-Rayon) so it takes some getting used to but in this day and age an app is actually the best tool to connect with your fans.

Content: Videos, posts, fan club magazines, exclusive merch, exclusive events, ticket lottery priority, etc. It's pretty much the same for all fan clubs. Please note that most of Hikaru's content is digital. In my opinion Wakana's fan club currently offers the best content as far as quality and variety is concerned but Hikaru and Keiko are slowly catching up.

Online Store: Wakana's Space Craft Store is available to everyone and you can buy stuff there pretty easily (using a proxy like TENSO and a credit card). As I mentioned earlier, you can purchase Wakana's fan club exclusive merch by using your Botanical Land ID to log into the Space Craft Store. Hikaru's Official Online Store is also available to everyone. While you will need a proxy, you do have the option to choose between credit card and PAYPAL which is a huge advantage. Keiko's online store shall not be discussed here. Suffice it to say, it sucks.

Gluten Free Monthly Favorites: Healthy Rice Crispy Treats, PF Chang's and More

New blog post! Besides being Celiac Awareness Month, May was also the first month I was back in Colorado, so you could say that I was doubly excited for May to arrive. It already feels like forever since I was teaching English 101 in Mankato, Minnesota, but I'm sure the new school year will be starting before I know it.

So why not make the summer feel a bit longer than usual by focusing on all the epic eats, activities and plans I have mapped out for summer 2018? You know the deal...keep reading to find out the brand of healthy rice crispy treats that legit tastes like childhood, when I’ll be flying out to the first annual Gluten Free Teen Summit in Orlando, Florida, why I've been quiet on the blog lately (hello computer issues) and more!

What I’m Eating:

All the Whole Foods hot bar feasts. Because Mankato is such a small town, there isn’t a Whole Foods Market nearby (unless you drive almost two hours to the Twin Cities), so I arrived in Colorado Springs pretty dang hungry for some Whole Foods goodness. I may or may not have spent $17 on the hot bar last week...and eaten those Whole Foods goodies with some added veggies and avocado for four nights straight. What can I say besides that I'm addicted? Some super creamy and dreamy gluten free and vegan hummus made in nearby Boulder! I won a variety of Blue Moose hummus on Instagram a few weeks ago, and have been diggin’ their hummus ever since. Right now, I’m making my way through their beet hummus. Slightly sweet, bright pink and very delicious! (I also might have been just as excited about the adorable shirt they sent as their hummus).

PF Chang's gluten free menu. I'd eaten at PF Chang's a few times before, but I had always gone with the GF street noodles (which are pretty dang tasty). This last time, I split the GF Ginger Chicken with Broccoli and GF Chang's Spicy Chicken with my mom and OMG. The spicy chicken transported me back to my pre-celiac Chinese food days, and I ate the leftovers for two days straight afterward. Addicted? I think so! Healthy rice crispy treats. I don’t know how they do it, but I was transported back to elementary school lunches as soon as I bit into Made Good’s vanilla crispy square (that I received for free from Mambo Sprouts and in my monthly gluten free Love with Food subscription box —> GLUTEN-FREE MONTH-TO-MONTH PLAN *affiliate link FYI*). The crispy square smells like the sweetest sugar cookie you’ve ever baked, and the texture is perfectly light and crunchy. The coolest part? Besides being free of the top 8 allergens, Made Good’s crispy squares also contain one serving of vegetables...and no one would even be able to tell!

What I’m Doing/Loving:

Road trippin’ from Mankato, Minnesota to Colorado Springs, CO with my daddy as copilot! Since this was my first long drive, my dad flew down to keep me company and do part (correction: a lot) of the driving. I wouldn’t call it the most relaxing or enjoyable road trip ever, but I made it home safe for the summer and that’s all that matters. My new, shorter hair! I got around eight inches of hair cut as soon as I rolled into Colorado, and I'm loving how much lighter my whole head feels. Nothing like a low-maintenance makeover to kick off the summer.

Soaking up as much Colorado summer as I can. I was extremely scared to stumble across Mankato, Minnesota’s weather radar and see that it was getting up to 98 this last week. No thank you! I’ll enjoy Colorado’s 70s as long as I can. The gorgeous scenery for walking and hiking doesn’t hurt either. If there’s something I have to do this summer while I’m in Colorado Springs, be sure to tell me in the comments. I appreciate any and all ideas! Reading as many good mystery books and psychological thrillers as I can get my hands on. As soon as school lets out every summer, the library is always my first stop. So far, my two favorite books of this summer are Close to Home by Clara Hunter and Let the Dead Speak by Jane Casey. On the nonfiction side, I also fell in love with An Exact Replica of a Figment of My Imagination: A Memoir by Elizabeth McCracken. If you've ever lost someone you loved or haven't known what to say to someone who's grieving, this book will definitely resonate with you.

What I’m Planning: 

Lots of lesson planning! As some of my family and friends know, I’ll be teaching a slightly different version of English 101 next year as part of my teaching assistantship at Minnesota State University, Mankato. That means I have a lot of lessons to create...so please send some creative and motivated vibes your way! For the teachers out there, any lesson planning tips? I’d LOVE to hear them! Celebrating the return of my computer. The graphics of my computer suddenly went psycho last Wednesday night, and after I took it to the Apple store, they determined that it needed a trip to the computer hospital for a tune up. In the end, they had to replace the display and the logic board...and by the surprised look on the guy's face who brought back my computer, replacing half a computer doesn't happen every day. What can I say? When it I do it, I do it well. (And thank goodness for warranties).

Sharing some epic gluten free eats (sneak peak above!) and probiotics very soon. While tons of people are prepping their “summer bodies,” I’m working on a round up of gluten free sweets...I guess that’s just how I (cinnamon) roll. It blows my mind that Celiac Awareness Month and May are already over, but I'm feeling super grateful that I still have a lot of summer - and a lot of delicious gluten free food, family time and adventures - still to come. Because of my computer issues, I've been much quieter on the blog and social media than I planned...but the shall-we-say "forced vacation time" from constant access to technology has only made even more excited to share some more gluten free tips, tricks, recipes and adventures this June!
