Kai Jiang-The Conquerer.

When the Green Ninja fell from grace, two ninjas came before him to reason with him. The Jiang Siblings attempted to seek reason with The Green One, but to no avail…

They assumed since The Green Ninja still has a twisted sense of care for them, that they were spared from his ideals, little did they know they were affected more than they realized.

Both The Siblings had one of their Negative Traits Amplified. For The Fire Ninja, The Green One played with his insecurities. As time and time again did he need to be protected instead of him doing the protecting.

He whispered in his mind, pushing his doubt, his weakness and his guilt, until finally he couldn’t ignore the temptation anymore.

The Fire One wanted nothing more than to be strong enough to defend himself and others, to overcome the other Ninja and surpass his limits at last. The Green One willingly gave him his wish…but at a price…

The Fire One’s power, once used to defend others against the dangers of the world, now used to destroy all that remains…if there was no world left, then there would be no more threats right? Hungry for more strength and power, The Fire One’s mind began to corrupt and twist in the name of Greed, destroying everything and setting the world ablaze.

Now sworn to protect The Green One, The Conqueror seeks all who dare try to pose a threat to the remaining family he has and those who dare oppose him in power? Shall suffer the wrath of the flames.

So yeah here’s Kai.

He’s more dangerous than Zane or Jay because Jay and Zane mostly stick to their domain, meanwhile Kai literally wanders the Earth.

He usually sticks to the remaining vehicles the Ninjas have left to hunt down those with power and those who dare to oppose Lloyd (His only source of power)

Yes he also is in cahoots with Lloyd, he doesn’t really have a choice here because Lloyd gives him enough strength to amplify his powers.

On the other hand, Lloyd also supplies him with special crystal that enhances his powers’ strengths everytime he burns someone/kills them.

I also took the liberty to put Kai’s hair down because I didn’t know how to make the helmet look right.

As for the inspiration for his villain design, most of Kai’s villain design stems from him getting Chen’s staff, however timeline-wise I decided that it didn’t really make sense for my AU since this is sort of an Apocalypse AU as well.

So I decided that Kai’s road to villainy comes from his insecurities amplified to the max, a voice in his head telling him that he keeps letting others sacrifice themselves cause his powers are ‘too weak’ compared to everyone else’s in an effort to become stronger, Kai becomes obsessive, and clings onto the only person who probably understands where he’s coming from (Lloyd) so yeah.

Ninjago AU: Shatter Squad

With the insanity that has been the Ninjago Community on Halloween 2024, I personally an most excited to see Jay join the Forbidden Five and the return of Morro. And ever since then, I've had this really cool idea for an AU. I haven't started it since season 3 of Dragons Rising hasn't even been officially revealed yet, but when the time is right I swear I'm gonna make it a reality no matter what BS I have to use to make it work.

After the Forbidden Five have been dealt with, Jay is separated into two separate people. There is Jay Walker, the Blue Ninja and Elemental Master of Lightning who went missing in the Merge, and Ranga, the Former Forbidden Sixth and unknowing Elemental Master of Electricity who first woke up in the Administration after the Merge.

As a result of the Ninja healing Jay's shattered soul, his shattered half and post-merge memories were expelled from Jay and found themselves a new body. That is when Ranga, a Wolf Formling who looks very much like Jay with wolf ears and a tail, was born.

The Element of Electricity is very similar to Lightning, in a way that Heat is similar to Fire. Electricity can't match the power of Lightning and the user cannot generate their own, but its a lot better at controlling the output of electricity and absorbing electricity from other sources. The Master of Electricity can also store computer data and intercept radio signals since they're both forms of communication that rely on electricity, although the Master cannot understand this information without something to output it to.

At the same time, Morro is wandering around aimlessly through the Merged Realms with no Element to wield, no Master to serve, no place to call home, and no purpose in life except to survive (Lore and Details TBD).

Ranga and Morro meet up and become quick friends due to their shared trauma of living in another Ninja's shadow and no longer being the Master of their original Elements. They start traveling through the Merged Realms together.

Ranga, having learned Shatterspin from the Forbidden Five themselves with no need for a Wolf Mask, offers to teach Morro. As a former Elemental Master, he still has the spark of mastery required to learn it and it won't leave him completely defenseless in these dangerous and uncharted Merged Lands.

While Ranga teaches him Shatterspin, Morro points out how unhealthy and self-destructive the ideology is. As a result, Ranga refines both himself and his teachings to become less violent and hateful while Morro is able to better defend himself with Shatterspin.

Ranga's version of Shatterspin becomes less about "Forcing the world to bend to your will" and "Strength is Everything", to "Being the change you wish to see in the world" and "Using your pain to prevent others from feeling it".

Ranga and Morro often train together, Morro practicing his Shatterspin and Ranga practicing fighting in his Wolf Form. Ranga's weapons of choice are Nun-chucks and a Sickle, depending on the situation (Jay's weapon of choice, a Kusarigama, split into two). Morro's weapons of choice are a dual bladed Glaive (like in the leaked set) and a retractable Bo staff (in memory of Wu).

Eventually they come across a village that is being harassed by Wolf Clan Remnants, Wolf Clan Warriors whose masks have fused to their faces, becoming these cursed, half-human half-wolf creatures, like the Lycan King but smaller and less formidable.

Ranga and Morro fight them off and the Wolf Clan Remnants retreat, and the village thanks them and gives them food and shelter. The village leader tells them that the Remnants will be back unless they deal with the Alpha. They promise food, money, and whatever they can spare to help them with their problem. Morro convinces Ranga to help and he reluctantly agrees because they are broke.

When the Remnants next attack, their Alpha comes with them to raid. Morro deals with the Warriors while Ranga faces off against the Alpha. Unlike the others, the Alpha's mask hasn't fully fused to their face, they have Shatterspin armor, and they can use the type of Shatterspin that a Wolf Mask provides. The Alpha's attacks are strong and relentless, but wild and uncoordinated.

During the fight, Ranga reaches his True Potential and discovers he's the Master of Electricity by switching his goal from beating the Alpha to saving him by removing the mask, accepting the part of himself that wants to help people instead of hiding it away out of fear of being left behind again. When he's pinned down by the Alpha, he absorbs the electricity of the village and uses it to subdue the Alpha, knocking them out. Ranga removes the Mask and the Alpha is revealed to be Cinder.

When Cinder awakens a day or two later, he's hostile to Ranga and Morro but explains his situation (Details TBD, but excessive use of the Wolf Masks made him lose control and his memory becomes hazy).

Ranga and Morro talk and decide that if left alone, Cinder will just keep using a Wolf Mask and eventually fully succumb to the Wolf Mask. They decide to train him in their way of Shatterspin in the hopes of leading him down a better path. Cinder jumps at the chance at learning the Five's true techniques, but Ranga warns him that he's teaching him HIS way of Shatterspin and that he must follow everything he says to the letter, much to Cinder's chagrin.

After talking to Ranga about finding his True Potential, Morro decides to follow a feeling he's been having and the trio decides to set out towards an area that has been experiencing bad storms ever since the Merge.

On their way to the storm, Ranga and Morro train Cinder, starting with getting him to calm down and learn patience and control. They give him an incense lantern on the end of a chain (like in his concept art) to learn discipline. At first Cinder thinks its stupid and beneath him, but reluctantly comes around when Ranga explains a storm that happens only once a decade is more destructive than a storm that happens every week because the people affected have less experience on how to deal with it. This Incense chain eventually becomes Cinder's weapon of choice, along with two Scimitars.

Eventually when they reach the edge of the Storm-lands, they explain their mission to a village leader who explains that the eye of the storm is the peak of a nearby mountain and offers them a reward if they can stop the storm that wrecks havoc on them constantly.

At the top of the mountain, the trio finds the Storm Amulet that went missing along with Wojira at the end of Seabound. Morro keeps it and learns that because he is the Former Master of Wind, he can tap into the powers of the Amulet as long as he keeps the Amulet on him (in this AU, the Amulet is only about 4 inches in diameter instead of the size of someone's entire torso).

After the mission is over, the trio decide to keep traveling together and helping the people of the Merged Lands, officially forming the Shatter Squad.

Eventually I wanna add two other members to Shatter Squad to mirror the Forbidden Five, but who those members are is TBD. The only other non-OC character I can think of adding is Jordana as the resident Magic User who can use Shatterspin due to Rox possessing her, but DR seems to already be doing something with her so I'm not confident in adding her just yet.

Ninjago headcanon #1-5

#1:

AU where the three descendants of FSM actually inherit Dragon-Oni features

Garmadon, Wu, and Lloyd being part oni, CAN shapeshift and usually use this to hide their true forms, instead shifting to their human ones, unless it's only friends and family around. (or if the circumstances demand it)

Garmadon’s “true form” looks like how he usually does, except he has huge gold dragon wings coming out from his back shoulder area, ringed with black because of his oni blood, that he actually can fly with. He has a gold tail similar to a Night Fury's, with the tailfins being black. He also has black oni horns with a swirl of gold and dark gold dragon ears. His eyes are purple both because of his element and his Oni blood and they glow when he allows them to. His teeth are sharp, too. His hands are clawish (Like his hands look normal but they have all the claw abilities and all). He has some gold-tipped black spikes like a night fury’s coming out of his back.

When Garmadon was in that form where he had the red eyes and all, his wings, tails, spikes, horns, and such were all black.

Wu’s “true form”  looks like how he usually does, except he has huge gold dragon wings coming out from his back shoulder area, that he actually can fly with. He has a gold tail similar to a Night Fury's with the tailfins being gold. He also has white-gold slanted-back dragon horns, with a swirl of black because of his oni blood, and dark gold dragon ears. His eyes are golden both because of his element and his Dragon blood and will glow if he allows it. His teeth are sharp, and his hands are claw-ish (Like his hands look normal but they have all the claw abilities and all) and he also has some gold-tipped black spikes like a Night Fury’s coming out of his back. 

Lloyd didn’t even realize he was shapeshifted during the years at Darkly’s Boarding school. When he began staying with the ninja, his uncle explained about being Dragoni (dragon-oni-sometimes- part-human hybrid) and taught him how to return to his true form and shapeshift, and how to fly. Lloyd didn’t need to learn Dragoni-tongue, he already knew it instinctively. 

Lloyd’s “true form” looks like how he usually does, except he has gold dragon wings, coming out from his back-and-shoulder area, ringed with green, that he actually can fly with. Like his uncle, He has a gold tail similar to a night fury's, with the tailfins being gold but with green at the tips except for the very tips of the fins being gold again. He also has gold horns, with a swirl of black because of his oni blood, with more black than his uncle but less than his father, slanted back like a dragon’s but not as much as his uncle, and dark gold dragon ears. His teeth are sharp, his hands are claw-ish (Like his hands look normal but they have all the claw abilities and all) and he also has some green-tipped gold spikes like Night Fury’s coming out of his back. His green eyes glow when he allows them to. The green-and-gold scales were able to glow after the Final Battle, except for his eyes, which were able to glow from the start.

#2:

AU where Morro gets turned back into a human in DotD and proceeds to take over as the oldest sibling for the rest of the series. (after the others begin to trust him of course)

“Jay Gordon Walker are you even trying to not have that thing explode!?!?”

“Kai Smith, how many times will I tell you to stop setting your room on fire.”

“All I’m asking for is one freaking patrol where you don’t say a word you shouldn’t even know, Nya.”

“Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon Spinjitzu. For the last time, Why were you up at  3:00 AM.”

“Zane you’re fine. You have common sense.”

“COLE HOW DID YOU GET ON THE ROOF-”

#3:

The ninjas’ eyes’ reflect their elements. And when the ninja unlock their true potential, their control over their eyes comes. 

Zane’s are ice blue, Jay’s are electric blue, Cole’s eyes are dark brown, almost black though sometimes the same yellow-orange that came when he went Spinjitzu Burst, while Kai’s are fire-colored. Nya’s are teal but a bit greener, as in sea colored. Lloyd’s are green. Morro’s were gray. Wu’s are gold both because of his element and his Dragon blood. and Garmadon’s are purple, both because of his element and his Oni blood. Their eyes will glow if they allow them to.

They can reverse the effect and make their eyes dark, the way most people’s eyes are- but they mostly do it in public so it’s harder for their identities to be found out.  

The shade of the color depends on their emotional state. When they are sad or talking about a “You don’t want to know” subject, or such, the shade of color in their eyes will get darker. If they’re in a good mood, they’ll get brighter. Sometimes it’s the opposite. (Cole’s turn light orange sometimes- he loves creeping his father out that way) 

#4:

When Lloyd was little and still at Darkly’s, one of the older kids, Tatheron, trapped him in an unused room. There they beat him up and hurt him seriously with a needle. As a result, Lloyd has trypanophobia- extreme fear of needles. 

The other ninja found out about it sometime when he was still a kid, when he got a gash on his arm. Wu said it needed to be stitched and Lloyd proceeded to panic, even ran off in fear. After being forced to catch him and bring him back to the Bounty, Lloyd tearfully confessed what happened  to the ninja after his Uncle Wu calmed him down, and the ninja + Wu ended up waiting till he fell asleep to do the stitches.

After that, Tatheron may or may not have come home one day with a broken nose. 

#5: 

At first Lloyd was terrified of the ninja, and they didn’t realize this at first. They only knew that they’d barely see him while on the Bounty. 

Then one day they found him hiding inside a big vase and realized that for some reason he hid from everyone in general 24-7. 

They found out that the kid’s at Darkly’s were hurt for even little stuff like being slow to answer. And that Lloyd had grown up thinking that everyone would hurt him. And that it was gonna take a while to gain his trust.

And Yet Despite coming up with an AU I am now creating a Crossover, because Im Horrible.

Yall's fault for talking about the Source Dragons so much smh.

Takes place riiight before Legion starts, and the Legion finds The Merged Lands goes to destroy it. (WoW Verse)

Takes place right after s2 p2 (Which is horrible for several reasons, also putting a read more even if its been out a few weeks now) which means some things that happened in the finale... Don't Actually Quite matter anymore?

Now onto the Read More

By Right after s2 p2 I mean literally the day after. The people of the Merged Lands don't even get any warning before the skies turn green and great balls of green fire start raining down.

Which if the Merge killed tons of people (Debris, immediately getting murdered, etc) the Legion has brought that total down even more.

The Source Dragons, in a desperate attempt to save as many as they could called upon the Dragonflights for help (Dragons travel through different realms, Bronze Dragonflight different universes-timelines, yeah?) and have their prayers answered. The Source Dragons and Dragonflights save as many as they can, taking them to Azeroth.

Though, with Azeroth having its own issues, everyone is scattered across the world, in safe areas, yes, but seperated once again from their loved ones.

If the group were picked up together, they MAY have been dropped off at the same location. The Dragonflights also had to consider The Horde and Alliance, even if their war was at a standstill due to the new news about the Legion.

Lloyd and Ras were dropped off in Stormwind proper and both are injured upon arrival. Thankfully, the priests take good care of them... In the same small makeshift hospital room.

Lloyd: Wakes up first, freaked out seeing Ras. Immediately gets up and starts asking questions. He's more confused than angry, and he wouldn't snap at people who literally just saved his and several other lives.

(The Priests who healed them are the priest trainers in the Cathedral of Light, as I just realized I don't... have like any Alliance Priests/Healers that would even care about what's happening/aren't evil oops)

He is told to go speak with King Varian if he wants some of his questions on the green fire that attacked the Merged Lands answered.

Ras: Wakes up next, knows that Lloyd went to King Varian (The Priests told him) and surprising even himself, he just leaves. He cannot communicate with his master, and he feels lost. (He's still like... an antagonist. But since they're in a new universe and the Merge and literally nothing on Ninjago/the Merged Lands exists anymore, he's without a goal.) Yes this is setting up for him following a Wild God. Which one? I'd... have to do research for that.

May or may not change when we learn who his master is.

Kai, Cole, Nya, and Wyldfyre are dropped off in Ironforge.

Kai is the only real injury in the group, he is sleep deprived, hungry, and in terrible shape overall. The Dwarves take good care of them, and within a week of their arrival, Kai is well enough to finally walk around the Kingdom.

Everyone suggests they go speak to the Council of Three Hammers, and while Kai, Cole, and Nya deal with offical Council business, Wyldfyre and Dagran II become friends.

When Moira tells them that the Legion has invaded Azeroth (and failed) many times, the group wants to learn how to fight the Legion so Azeroth doesn't succumb to the same fate the Merged Lands did.

They are absolutely looking for each other the entire time, but unlike the Merged Lands they know nothing about Azeroth, while they'd been to some of the realms of the Merged Lands before.

Sora, Fritz, and Zane end up at the Exodar and despite the Draenei having the best priests around, are the only group that do not require them. Velen gives them the breakdown on what the Legion is, and how they overtook the world so quickly.

To his surprise, they immediately want to start training to learn how to fight back, since Azeroth has faced the Legion and lived to tell the tale before.

Geo, Bonzle, and Spitz are all sent to Orgrimmar. Yes, they are not human, nor do they look like any other Alliance race. Geo looks both Troll and Orc, Bonzle Forsaken, and Spitz, though the Horde haven't met them yet, Sethrak.

(Not much on these guys yet, but I intend on starting to writing asap!)

Vol'jin knows what the Sethrak are though its okay. (*Thumbs up* If he didn't, he does now!)

Though it wouldn't matter as long as Spitz wasn't visibly human, the Horde is freaking ACCEPTS people in this freaking family!!!

Geo was the only one physically injured, while Bonzle was still recovering from the Nether-Space, she is Really Messed Up from the whole... Turning into a portal thing ya know, though she doesn't really let it show.

At least MOST of the Finders got to stick together!

Jay, Arin, Roby, Skylor, Euphrasia, and Jordana all end up in Dalaran.

Imagine being Jay- considered a failure by the guy who 'saved' you and just walking off and leaving everything behind one day, and then the next a dragon grabs you and throws you into another world. Anyway, he wants a chance to redeem himself, so he offers to help Khadgar.

At least Khadgar isn't evil so uh at least Jay can get his confidence back and learn how to do good again (Don't plan on making Jay just snap back to his original self he is Working on it and he's forever changed sorry,,, love you Jay)

Arin is Very lost and scared. Like yeah this has happened to him before but this time he has no clue if he'll ever see anyone he knows ever again, especially Sora. Ras isn't there either, but the people in Dalaran know magic maybe one of the mages could help him find his parents and the others. (Also cough cough Garona is also in Dalaran so uh .. wanting to feel useful while having no powers?? Wonder who could be a great teacher for him..)

Roby is ENJOYING being in a giant flying city but is also very worried because he may be the games master (or was) but he's still like fourteen and his family is nowhere to be seen. Still has the staff that takes elemental powers, and the Magi are trying to see if it works with ALL sorts of powers, like Magi, Fel, Dark magic and the works.

Skylor and Roby meet soon afterwards and she immediately sees a younger her in him. When she was younger she wanted to be just like her father and seeing Roby who does the exact same things he did but like... Isn't Evil... 'oh hey free brother' time.

She meets Jay later and she almost immediately sees what's going on and tries to help with his memory, but doesn't try to force anything on him, so she stays close to him and they actually bond. (Platonic Serpent shipping in this, Serpentshipping has been brought to my attention lately and I loved their little interactions in Sky bound...)

Khadgar, upon mentioning to him that she ran a noodle shop immediately told the innkeeper of the Ledgermain Lounge and now she has a little noodle shop next door :)) *Dalaran should be way bigger than it is in game so*

Euphrasia left one floating city for another. Unfortunately the Cloud Kingdom was like directly in the Legions path when they came to the Merged Lands. She managed to save some people but many died, and she was heavily scarred from the Legions fire.

Pixal and Riyu are both sent to Dragonblight straight to the aspects, where the Source Dragons also flew to.

She's currently helping Khadgar go through scrolls that could help against the Legion while she's still recovering. (Also cough cough Morro may or may not be following her to make sure she's fine lol more on him later) this is also right after the Kingdom recovered from the ritual.

Jordana has absolutely no where to turn to after part 3, cant go to Ras, and feels she can't just go find Sora. When she learns that Dalaran teaches magic users, she decides the best course of action is to of course, become a mage.

Which is where the only OC I plan on using for this crossover comes in.

Amy Dawnhill, my half Mage Half Warlock Human, sees potential in her and wants to help her grow. Plus it's not like Amy is doing anything useful with her time during Legion.

The dragons thought Pixal was a titan construct so they took her there so they could check. Riyu is a young drake that they felt shouldn't be left alone so they also brought him along. The other dragons that escaped also went to Dragonblight.

The two are told about the Legion and get an Aspects view of what exactly the Legion is. They of course want to help, and maybe (hopefully) find their loved ones along the way.

Asp (that's what we are calling the bitty baby that was left when the Matriarch was killed right?) goes with them as well, wanting to explore the new world.

Riyu and Wrathion friendship WILL happen, enough said.

Wu, Garmadon, Vinny, and Misako all ended up in Darnassus. Yes it is because of the Wu-Garmadon Malfurion-Illidan Misako-Tyrande connections. And then there's Just Some Guy, Vinny. Who makes sure nothing goes wrong. Things will go very wrong.

I think it's funny.

Wu is back in his corporal form!!! He is going through it but man is he happy to see Garmadon and Misako again!! He looks MOSTLY human but with dragons horns/tail. He looks cool and not scary so the people of Darnassus look at him in amazement instead of fear.

He is trying to hunt down his freaking students and nephew and apparently these new kids he took under his wing??? He's so sure they're all alive,,, he has so much faith in them. He is also totally not blaming himself for the merge as well as the Legion attack now no why would he do that,,

Becomes friends with both Tyrande and Malfurion though the three often leave Teldrassil to search for everyone and to acclimate themselves to Azeroth.

They can go through it together, as the Immortal Trio!! Plus Vinny, who is the biggest champ that Azeroth has ever seen.

Garmadon is being taught how to shape shift back into his human form, as his oni form kind of scared the civilians. So he acts the exact same but he physically looks like Sensei Garmadon. Still dressed in green and all. He won't admit it openly but he freaking misses his SON and is worried about him.

Misako is trying to keep it together and is actually doing the best out of them. She KNOWS her son is alive and she's been heavily researching the Legion ever since she was allowed around the World Tree.

Since she isn't much of a fighter herself, though she can defend herself, she decides to join the Explorer's League from time to time. They all enjoy her input and are surprised she's so good with booby traps and curses.

It also helps that she can't be killed but hey... If no one else is questioning it then they won't either.

Fun Facts about this au!

There are crossover ships, I've decided. So far it's just Lloyd x Arator (Lightbulb shipping, I dub thee) I think they'd get along quite well, and are both in the same age group.

Platonic Serpentshipping (Jay x Skylor) because I wanna explore their relationship so much ,,, but also keep it in canon as much as possible since this is right after s2 p2.

Lost shipping (Cole x Geo) the resident Like 99 percent sure it's actually canon ship. The Bumbleby of Ninjago if you would.

Wusako (Wu x Misako) I don't know I think it's cute I love them. *I always operate on a 'the letter doesn't freaking happen' basis*

And that's about it for ships except any WoW canon ones that show up throughout.

- Everyone still has Elemental Powers.

- Will say right now, since the ninja are here there WILL be changes to Legions story but not TOO many, I still want BfA to happen in a way. To put those guys into situations, ya feel me? Will not elaborate on what all this entails.

- I do not have any Horde/Alliance bias. Trust.

- Everyone arrives a month before Broken Shore begins. So enough time to kind of adjust to how chaotic Azeroth is. Kind of.

- I am absolutely hiding a lot of information on how they're doing but like in the immediate aftermath of this I'd say that the ones going through it the MOST at the beginning are technically Euphrasia (is literally just running on auto pilot with Morro right behind her), Jay, and Wu. In that order.

Lloyd is always going through it but he knows Arin is okay so that's enough for him to be convinced everyone else be cares about is okay too!!

- "What about the Forbidden Five-" What about them? ;) (REDACTED) (REDACTED) (REDACTED) of course.

- Uhm Geo, Bonzle, and Spitz is our only Horde group so I am EXTRA excited to write around them. (No I don't have a bias towards horde nooo)

Anyone not mentioned in this will be mentioned in the story! (Parents and whatnot... Hmm..) You know if they're alive.

Venomous Teachings au: Ray and Maya

Talking about these two next bc their backstories let me expand on some world building stuff.

So here we go! Starting off with Ray and his family bc they have some ties to Ninjago’s Royal Court.

Presently, the Royal Family of Ninjago is fairly separated from actually governing the country. Think modern day Britain, where the monarchy is still around, but the Prime Minister and Parliament are the ones who are actually in control. In Ninjago, that actual governing is done by the Mayor, and the Jade Council, who I’ll get to in a minute.

I’m making a chart-thing to sort of plot out the way Ninjago’s Royal Court works, but it’s not quite done and probably needs its own post, but imagine a pyramid. The Royal Family is at the very top, overseeing and benefiting from everyone underneath them, but each of the four sides is a different...area? I guess? that is important to Ninjago functioning as a country.

The four areas are Military, Agriculture, Magic, and Arts/Entertainment. The layer directly below the Royal Family holds the four ‘Heads’ of each area, Lords typically from long lines of Lords who inherited their positions. I was originally going to call them ‘Ministers’, and then I realised that would mean Misako’s father would be the ‘Minister of Magic’, which just made me think of Harry Potter and made me sad. So until I come up with a different title, Lord will be the fill in. Also the four areas are going to get cooler sounding names, like the Military guy being called ‘Ninjago’s Lord of Arms’ or something.

But anyway, the Court follows the whole pyramid thing with the four Lords, who along with the current Emperor make up the Jade Council. Usually. Under the Lords are more families and industries that are all deemed necessary for Ninjago to function.

And before the Serpentine War, the Elemental Alliance, made up of the Masters of the 16 Tame Elements, were just under the Lords in terms of power and prestige in Ninjagan society. More on the Wild Elements like Wind and Water when we get into Maya’s stuff. All of the Elemental Masters found ways to use their powers to make a name for themselves in the Court during peacetimes; the Familyline of Sound have long been talented musicians for example, and the Familyline of Lightning have tended towards stage performance for generations.

Ray’s father was born to the Familyline of Fire, a long line of smiths capable of creating the hardiest armor or the dantiest bangle or the sharpest blade. As the eldest child of the current Master of Fire, everyone expected him to be the next Master.

Instead, his younger sister inherited their family’s Power.

Not only that, but her power started to show itself at the age of four. Power’s developing at a young age had long been seen as a sign of Good Fortune, and a Master powerful enough to make history.

But until that point, the youngest a Master had been when their powers showed was nine.

Ray’s father, who was twelve when his sister was shown to be the next Master, quickly grew bitter and resentful as the attention he’d grown accustomed to shifted to his baby sister in an instant.

Year passed, and he grew more and more angry, until the night of his eighteenth birthday. He spent most of the day sulking, darting around the family manor to avoid everyone, believing that talking to anyone would be pointless, as he was sure his birthday had been forgotten by everyone and he didn’t want to deal with that.

After sneaking back into his room, he hears the sounds of bustling in the dining room.

Dinner was probably being started. Without him.

Something about that makes something in him snap. He grabs a bag he’d packed and unpacked a million times that year, climbs from his bedroom window using the tree that he’d been using for years, and leaves his childhood home behind without a backward glance.

He had secretly set up an apprenticeship with a well-known and extensive family of craftsmen from one of the lower Houses in the Court months ago, and he still had a week before his window to accept was closed. He used a false last name, not wanting to be known as the overshadowed older brother of the Master of Fire in his new start. Room and board was included in the arrangement, which led to a romance blossoming between him and his teachers niece, whose parents specialized in silversmithing.

After his seven year long apprenticeship was up, he proposed to her, and soon a baby boy, Ray, was born. Together, the two started a business of their own selling puzzle boxes and music boxes and the like. Complicated, deceptive devices with lots of intricate moving parts.

There was an incident when Ray was a toddler, when he somehow managed to climb out of his crib during what should have been naptime, and toddled his way into his parents workshop. It was empty when he came in; both of his parents had been trying to catch a nap themselves while he was supposed to be sleeping. Ray got his fingers caught inside the mechanism of a half finished commission, a bookcase with a hidden safe built into it. They were damaged too severely, and had to be amputated.

His parents, horrified at the accident, worked with the best doctors and specialists they could find and afford to make prosthetics for Ray as he grew up. They’re craftsmen; their hands are their livelihood, and they wanted to ensure that their mistake doesn’t ruin Ray’s future.

Speaking of Ray’s future, when he was about eleven, his father notices signs that Ray inherited his family’s Elemental Power. He’d eventually told his wife who he was when Ray was born, so she wasn’t caught completely off-guard by everything.

And when Ray is about fifteen, his grandfather finally finds him.

The former Master of Fire had spent nearly twenty years searching for his missing son. When his daughter, his heir, was only sixteen, the world of Ninjago learned just how dangerous it is for an Elemental Master to develop their power at too young an age.

Elemental Masters develop an immunity of sorts to their Power bc they’re Humans, Mortals, imbued with the power of a Dragon. They need to be able to handle their power, so the power Changes them, just a bit. Typically, the Master’s power and immunities grow at fairly similar rates; the power grows first, and the immunity catches up to it. But bc Ray’s aunt was so young when she got her powers, her body wasn’t strong enough to go through those changes for a few years.

Years during which her power, tho largely unused, grew. The gap between how much power she could use and how much power she could handle was too great.

She literally burned up.

Ray’s grandfather had come to find the new Master of Fire. Relations with the Serpentine had been slowly deteriorating over the last decade, and though war wasn’t eminent the Emperor wanted all of the Elemental Masters to start preparing. Just in case.

And no matter how much Ray’s parents don’t want him to be taken away, they have no choice. The squad of Imperial guards that came with his grandfather ensure that.

So Ray is taken from the only home he’s ever known and trained to use his powers, becoming quite the talented Elemental Master. Eventually he and the rest of the Elemental Alliance do have to fight on the frontlines of what would be known as the Serpentine War.

And while fighting in the War, he meets Maya.

Also drew Ray and Maya as teens, about 15-ish. So right when Ray gets taken to train, and when Maya also has her whole world rocked, but more on that in a minute. Ray’s in all purple bc colors are important in the Ninjagaon Court, as a quick and easy way to denote what someone does. I just picked purple at random, I don’t think I’m going to keep that as the official color for craftsmen like in Ray’s mothers family.

So we’ve talked a bit about the 16 Tamed Elements, and how they used to guarantee a comfortable, high-class lifestyle, but what about the Wild Elements?

Wild Elementals, like those with the powers of Wind and Water, were shunned by Ninjagan Society at large. Typically a Wild Elemental was seen as a Bad Omen; it’s known that the Tame Elements were Gifted on their Familylines by the FSM himself, so something like that ‘randomly’ popping up scared people.

Generations before Maya was born though, there was a coastal fishing village that was home to a family of Water Elementals who weren’t shunned, but instead were beloved by the village. Year ago, two brothers drifted into town looking for work on a fishing boat. Not long after being hired, the boat with the brothers gets caught in a fierce storm.

In order to save the lives of everyone on board, the brothers were forced to reveal themselves as Water Elementals, and working together they used their powers to not only rescue everyone, but to keep the boat in one piece and to save the rather large haul of fish.

The brothers expected to be ran out of town, but were surprised to find the village was almost unanimously grateful to them. As soon as the storm had rolled in, those in the village weren’t expecting the boat to come back at all; it wouldn’t be the first time they were decimated by a storm that size. Many people had already begun to mourn for lost loved ones, including the villages leader, who’s own daughter was captaining the ship.

Essentially, the brothers had brought their lost loved ones back from the dead, and also managed to save one of their best ships and enough food to feed the village for a good while.

The brothers wound up settling in the village, and for the first time in their lives they were able to use their powers without fear. Time passed, and they both started families in the village, passing their powers down to their children.

Unfortunately, good things can’t last forever. Word eventually spread of a village that had multiple Wild Elementals living in it, openly using their powers like it didn’t mean anything!

A mob arrived at the village, but they were stopped by the elder brother, now an old man and great-grandfather himself. But his old age hadn’t dimmed his powers, and he created a massive, impenetrable wall of seawater to keep the mob away from the village. He bargained with them, telling them that if they gave the village the time to make it through that years storm season, than all of the Wild Elementals would willingly go with the mob to be...dealt with however the mob saw fit.

The mob agrees, and for the next three months they wait, camped outside of the massive, churning wall of water.

Never once did the wall falter.

Then, on the last day of storm season, the wall drops at sundown.

The mob surges into the village, eager to finally get rid of the Wild Elementals that had been allowed to thrive there, but to their shock the whole village is gone.

And a fleet of ships is quickly disappearing towards the horizon.

In the three months they’d been able to secure, the whole village had banded together to tear down every building and every dock and turn them into enough ships to take the entire village out to sea, and away from Ninjago. The village had been a close-knit community long before the brothers first arrived, and once they had become part of the village, no-one was going to turn on them.

Originally, the village was only planning on being seabound temporarily, for a few years at most, just until they could find a new place to rebuild, mb somewhere else on Ninjago’s coast, or mb even one of the smaller islands that dotted the Endless Sea. Instead, the village found that they were thriving out at sea.

So they stayed out at sea permanently.

They aren’t the first group of people to live full-time on the Endless Sea; the Ninjagan Archipelago is the largest landmass in the world, but the Endless Sea is called ‘endless’ for very good reason. More than half of Ninjago’s military is dedicated to its navy to help protect it from pirates, other unscrupulous Seafarers, and creatures from the deep like the Kraken.

Generations pass in the village, and more and more Water Elementals pop up. Eventually, in the eye of a storm on a moonless night, Maya is born.

Being surrounded by the Endless Sea, having new Elementals be born out at sea, has lead to them becoming more and more powerful with every new generation. This lead to a phenomenon popping up in some of the Elementals who were born. They would be born with inhuman features; bits of their Draconic blood being amplified by life spent entirely on the Endless Sea.

It’s never been anything huge; no scales or horns or tails growing like Nya and Kai and Morro get later on. Small things, like shark-like (or, well, dragon-like but they dont know that) teeth, or claws instead of normal nails.

Maya, along with being massively powerful, was born with clawed and webbed feet. This made it difficult for her to find shoes that she could wear comfortably and also not tear open in less than a week. This wasn’t that much of a problem growing up; running around barefoot was actually the norm, given how often people were jumping in and out of the sea.

She had a happy childhood, content with her mother and younger sister, until she was around fifteen. Her village is attacked by a vicious group of pirates, and in the chaos of everything, Maya is struck in the face by something, knocked unconscious and overboard. All of the Elementals born in the last two generations were able to breath underwater at birth so drowning wasn’t a danger, but when she came to and surfaced, she was alone.

Eventually, Maya finds her way to Ninjago, stepping foot on land for the first time in her life. She knew why her people had left Ninjago, the story passed down through generations, so she knew to keep her powers hidden, but her feet were harder to deal with. Thankfully, it was assumed that those came from Maya having some Serpentine ancestry, so her being a Wild Elemental remained a secret.

Though pretending to be distantly Serpentine didn’t win her many favors as she tried to build a life in Ninjago. Maya desperately wanted to find her people, but she knew it would be impossible to find them. She knew how to navigate the Endless Sea, and knew where they last were, but she also knew how vast the Endless Sea was.

It would be like trying to find a specific drop of water in a bucket.

Maya bounced around Ninjago’s foster care system for a few years, before bouncing around Ninjago, taking odd jobs and trying to find her way in the world. She tried to stay on the coast, in the numerous port towns and fishing villages, with slowly dwindling hope that she’d hear something about her people that would lead her back to them.

Eventually, the Serpentine War starts. A battle takes place in a village where Maya had been staying, trying to find a ship that would hire her. Her first instinct was to run and hide, but from her hiding spot she sees two of the human combatants become surrounded. She recognized them from earlier that day; they had arrived the day before to look into rumors of Serpentine in the area, and stayed in the inn where Maya had been working for room and board.

They were both quite kind to her, and they even stepped in when another patron noticed Maya’s feet and started giving her a hard time about being part Serpentine. Against her better judgment, Maya steps in, using her powers to help rescue them and help turn the tide of the battle. Though she had no real combat experience or training, Maya’s skill and the sheer force of her power made her a force to be reckoned with.

Maya is absolutely terrified when she realizes the two people she saved were members of the Elemental Alliance, but Ray and Garm were massively impressed by her, and asked her to join the Alliance to help fight the Serpentine. She’s against it at first, worried for her life, but Garm is able to use the fact that he’s the Son of the First Spinjitzu Master to guarantee her safety.

Eventually Maya is convinced to join, and the rest is history.

Nope. And I never will 😅 makes me much too uncomfortable (I never read it either). Both because that's just how I am personally and for religious reasons. But I do love writing wholesome romance!

My made up lore on Ninjago's dark matter/condensed evil

Yooo so I was both bored and very unsatisfied with Ninjago's extreme lack of lore soooo *coughs this up before scurrying away*

Dark matter, otherwise know as condensed evil is considered an enigma by many including Ninjago's top researchers it's usually referred to as condensed evil, dark matter, demons blood, the nightmare virus and many other names depending on the region where it's recognized and the people speaking about it since different cultures in ninjago come up with different names for the same thing due to their culture and how it has developed .

Condensed evil is typically a dark and ominous mystery to Ninjago's inhabitants. It's appearance is that of a dark viscous substance similar to molasses and it's properties are almost akin to that of a virus or mindless parasite.How dark matter functions Dark matter works by contaminating an environment,a food source or bodies of water. Once an environment is contaminated by condensed evil the malevolent substance will proceed to infect a living being by either being absorbed by the skin or ingested via contaminated food or water. Condensed evil's corruption is not bloodborne due to its primitive state and cannot be spread through reproductive body fluids or inherited by parents. It can however be transmitted via saliva, scratches and mucus (similar to rabies but not half as deadly).

The symptoms of corruption caused by condensed evil and condensed evil's potency depend on the amount of exposure a living being has been subjected to and what the quality of the condensed evil is .If only a living being is exposed to condensed evil via skin to skin contact for at least 5 minutes they will begin to feel minor discomfort and a mild burning feeling around the skin that has been exposed causing rashes and inflammation as well as a strong itching sensation, the subjects mood will be akin to that of an annoyed teenager.

If a subject's skin is exposed to condensed evil for 20 minutes the rashes formed on the skin will become an angrier shade of red and medium sized sores will be formed on the flesh as the inflammation begins to get worse, the mild burning sensation will begin to get worse similar to that of boiling water and the victim will begin to experience lightheadedness and a mild level of nausea, the subjects mood will be stressed, angry and mildly violent.

If the victim's skin had been exposed for 30 minutes or more the sores will proceed to get worse and become similar to 30 degree burns, the reddening of the flesh will become a reddish purple due to the inflammation becoming worse and constricting the victim's blood flow, the burning sensation will go from that of boiling water to being set on fire. Lightheadedness and nausea can and will get worse as well as the victim's mood as they begin to froth at the mouth and become both extremely violent and aggressive. At this stage it's too late for the victim as they are turned into a weak minded puppet for the corruption.

Additional note: the effects of condensed evil strongly depend on the quality of condensed evil. The quality of the condensed evil used in this data set was medium quality . Low quality will have weaker effects (however it's still important to get the condensed evil off ASAP since time is of the essence if you desire to save the victim.) high quality condensed evil is extremely dangerous and has faster and more serious effects and side effects.

Charecter sheets for my Ninjago au(descendents of luminescence)

The worldbuilding and lore post will be coming soon to explain how this au works.

I need to give the main ninja's sheets a bit more of a thought so I decided to start with Morro.

Here is the reference design(i swear I can draw better than this but since it was only a reference pic so I decided not to and because I was sick)

Name : Agent Morro Hayato

Age : 18

He is the adopted son of General Wu, and has spend half of his life training to become a soldier.

Wu came across a young Morro on the streets when he was just scouring through the waste to find some food, and adopted him. Since he couldn't leave a child alone Wu brought him to the command building, after seeing the several mechs,jets, vehicles and soldiers equipped with weapons it was here then that Morro wanted to become one of them.

He more specifically took a liking to the air force, and expresses his desire to become a pilot or even better yet the air commandor one day. Wu was initially hesitant as the child was only 8 years old by the time but after some persuasion he gave in.

Morro was enrolled in a junior training programme that came with a set of obstacles he had to conquer including working on weapon fire, reflexes, honing instincts, learning the ins and outs of the mechs involved and having to learn numerous skills in swimming, strength based and flexibility.

He was a prodigy in his early years and about two years from then Wu would discover about the Morro's elemental power. The element of wind was a power he had never before seen in all his years so he became convinced that this boy had what it takes to become one of the elites.

But due to that dream he had planted in the boys mind, Morro would become goal oriented to the point where he would risk his own physical and mental stability just to earn a spot in the ranks despite not being of age yet. During a training session Morro accidentally collided his jet to another person's because he attempted to use his power to speed it which ended up in the both of them gaining injuries. Once Wu learnt of this he withdrew Morro from the training programe and forbade him to even venture into the command center.

In Wu's mind he was doing this only so Morro would stop inflicting harm upon himself and others but this new prohibition only gave fuel to the boy's already raging storm.

So he became determined to prove Wu wrong and began sneaking out at night which was directly against the rules of the SS and tried to prove Wu wrong by stealing the entrance card to the unit and venturing outside the barrier, he would later began to realize just how foolish of a decision he had taken.

But when everything was so far going accordingly just a few seconds after the jet took flight, the system started to malfunction appearently it was a seeker in the process of repair, so it hadn't even reached the barrier before it collided and the last thing Morro had seen before he passed out was his amulet glowing an ominous purple and a voice of a woman whispering in his head.

Though he had survived the accident, he remained in a coma for a year and by the time he woke up he'd also heard that Wu had only visited him once during that time(note : Wu actually had a logical reason to do that which I'll explain the fic itself once I write it but it's all just a misunderstanding) and was now somehow stuck with the woman's voice in his head all the time, and his right eye had turned a bright purple and there were green lightnining cracks surrounding the eye.

Since then he moved out from Wu's house and while he is still legally Wu's adopted son, his relationship with Wu is strained to the point he avoids the man entirely not even giving him a chance to explain. He moved in the dorms of the military academy and re-enrolled himself in the training programme and this time actually managed to climb the ranks and become an actual soldier recruit, he's part of the air force and since he's an elemental master his jet mech is powered by his element.

That's actually where he met Kai, Jay, Zane, Nya, Cole and Pixal. Morro had no idea who Lloyd was until he arrived there as a junior candidate. And honestly he doesn't care.

To him it's just : oh great I basically have a cousin and Wu never bothered to tell me about that.

Yeah, they're not exactly on the best of terms at first.

But he does talk to other members of their trainee unit.

He gets along with Nya, to the point you can actually say their friends as they have a lot of similar interests such as favourite music, soldier they admire, ambitions, similar sometimes twisted sense of humor, Morro actually considers Nya to be a lot more bearable than Kai.

(i saw a post about this Morro and Nya having similar interests because of their relation to wojira and I really wanted to incorporate that because I love that theory to bits)

Cole and Jay are basically nice to everyone and in the 3 years they all spent training together, they do have a weird dynamic going on with him they try to bond but Morro just outright rejects their offer everytime he considers them annoying but also appreciates it at the same time.

He doesn't talk to Zane that much at first but they're initially on just friendly terms because Morro is friends with Agent E who is Zane's twin brother. So they run into eachother a lot so they occasionally strike up small talk but don't really become actual friends until later.

Morro and Pixal are pretty much neutral towards eachother as they hardly have a reason to talk at all, but she has a part time job at the engineering department where soldiers go to equip themselves with the latest gadgets to help them fight more efficiently. However due to Pixals status as one of the higher ranking trainees they both hold some amount of respect towards eachother due to that.

His relationship with Kai is more or less just a rivalry, they've always been at eachothers throats ever since their first year at training, during which most of the classes or even at the cafeteria they would end up causing a scene and would be sent to the confinement unit bruised and forced to bear with eachother for atleast a day everytime. They compete with eachother for the highest rank by the time they are sent to their official posts, as both want to earn a spot in the elite squad. Due to this they basically have a hostility and can hardly speak two words to eachother without an insult.

Being the current elemental master of wind, and is in possession of one of the twin amulets of wojira the ruler of the storm and seas.

In the beginning of the story he's going to start off being a huge jerk to everyone that eventually gets a charecter development arc.

Oh and yeah, he's also got himself involved in the wrong crowd more like gang for a reason which I will not reveal due to it being a huge spoiler part of the story.

Fun fact : I actually had the scene where Morro is at the climax of his redemption arc planned out from the beginning - the moment where he finally accepts that the only person who's putting the expectations he carries is himself and finally moves on. - that scene is going to be super emotional I can guarentee that.

Ok now here are some :

Fun facts and hcs : 🥹😯(my favourite part)

1)All elemental masters have a true form that they can access from the point where they discover their elemental magic. But the thing is it's hard to change back to your normal self until you learn to control it.

Morro's form involved his skin turning a lavender pink shade,and there are several golden markings all over his face and the color of his hair turns from black to purple excluding the green strip which stays quite the same.(basically like the keepers in the island)The strange greenish lictenburg like strikes around his right eye also don't fade away neither does his his heterochromia eyes. All elemental masters change to their true forms but some like Morro choose not to unless neccesary.

Why? He just doesn't want to. Even if Jay begs him to show him atleast once how it looks it.

2) Morro is the descendant of the original elemental master of wind hence he inherited the amulet from his ancestors. It is the last memento he has of his family so he wears it all the time.

The fun fact is Nya also inherited an identical amulet from her mother as well, so this led to a weirdly realization amongst the three of them(including Kai)that they might be related. (Causing both Morro and Kai to flinch violently away from eachother in disgust)thankfully it was disproven after begging Jay to do a DNA test.

3) Morro is asexual but demiromantic ; because I need me some fellow ace rep.

4)Wu does make an attempt to reach out by sending letters, Morro rips them up and blows them out of his window and dodges Wu in the command center everytime he tries to talk 1o1. Hence he is teased from basically everyone of having daddy issues and when your daddy is the general word spreads around.

5) when he's not wearing his combat suit Morro has a tendency to wear dark clothes and clothes where someone would describe as looking like an emo. Such as sleeveless leather jackets, long sleeved striped t-shirts, hoodies and t-shirts and jackets with a skull on it.

6) though he rarely ties his hair in duty, this is because he actually doesn't know how to,

So he silently begs Nya to help him tie it in a bun or braid, which she agrees in exchange for a favour from him. That's actually the reason that started their unlikely friendship.

5)his favourite dessert is lemon coconut cheesecake cupcakes,

drink : coffee preferably a cappuccino (drinks a ton of those a night however is reluctant to go to the nearby coffee shop because he always has to listen to Senior Soldier Acronix make ridiculous quips to the robot barista there who just doesn't seem to care but occasionally banters back, Morro just grabs his coffee and speed walks back without looking back not wanting in on the weirdness of whatever they had going on)

favorite ice cream flavour : mint chocolate chip.

Pizza : probably Hawaiian.

6) you'd think he'd go easy on his cousin during sparring sessions but nah he has a weird way of training juniors by berating them brutally with insults until they actually put in an effort and weirdly it actually works.

7)kai and Morro are competitive over everything even the smallest things like who can eat their dinner faster. Cole usually records it and they laugh about it.

8)funny thing is Morro is a great skater exactly like Jay and Harumi, so he basically makes a smug face at Kai everytime he sees him near the rank because Kai is horrible at skating,but the latter never admits to it because he never accepted Morro's challenge at a skating race because if he doesn't accept he doesn't humiliate himself.

9) but another thing is Morro though he does have good looks, he just can never get a good photo everyone of them has something weird about it, like blinking or sneezing or just bad luck, most of the photos taken of him are taken without his knowledge this actually happens because he's camera shy but he believes it to be a curse. Also Kai is basically the one in the unit who has thousands of social media followers because he takes good photos so he takes this opportunity to laugh in Morro's face.

10) Morro plays the violin in his room and most of the time people passing by come in with looks of concern because according to them his tunes were so melancholic, that conversation would always end with Morro yelling it wasn't because slamming the door in their faces with the wind.

11) Morro once tried to jump off a window to practice his flight using a wind cyclone the first time didn't really work and he was glad it was only the first floor and that he had a sturdy head. 🫣

12) he's an INTJ

13) Morro can drive a jet just fine, but driving vehicles well that's another story he ends up having too much fun and driving too callously and frightening the life out of whomever is in the car with him. (I actually really liked that part in the fanfic Land of the living so I couldn't resist of Morro being a wreckless driver 😅)

14)despite his usually calm in battle demeanor he gets increasingly agitated and reckless if he's nervous a year prior during a battle against oni Morro led a few of his fellow recruits into an oni cloud by accident in an attempt to conjure a cyclone to destroy the cloud to test a theory and while he was able to get away in time due to his elemental power, Kai actually couldn't his bike's engine blew up and they all actually thought he died as no one who ventured inside the oni cloud in the open survives before by some miracle Kai arrives back, his bike's windsheild was shattered as if someone had struck an arm through it and the latter himself was in a state of shock and wouldn't say a word to anyone just shaking before passing out. Since then Kai never really was the same.

Morro actually harbours some intense guilt over that but due to his pride he never could bring himself to apologize.

15) Morro has diplopia, and used to wear glasses before the accident which he became partial blind in his right eye and wears contacts in his left eye .

16) Despite seeming like an introvert Morro is pretty flamboyant and showboating he brags about all his accomplishments.

17) Morro owns a pet tarantula

18)he and Echo bond over their shared love of chess and literature. Sometimes Zane or Pixal joins them as they are also chess nerds.

19)he is horrible at basketball, always gets the ball thrown in his face before he can do anything.

20)has personalized nicknames for everyone except for Echo, Pixal, Nya, Akita and Zane.

21)is voted 'most likely to get arrested' and 'most likely to get catfished'

22)pretty touch starved but would die rather than accept a hug or reveal his vulnerabilities.

23)knows he has an unhealthy obsession but refuses therapy

24)once they get along Lloyd and Morro are movie buddies, while Jay and Cole are his video game partners.

25)if they could actually get along Morro and Kai would be the type of friends that can have a friendly banter but with tension and rivalry and still insult eachother all the time.

26) actually misses Wu's cooking rather than eating instant noodles whenever the trainees are sent home every 3 months for a weekend.

27)is a horrible chef everything he makes is either half cooked or burned- something he also shares with Kai.

28)has a minor sweet tooth, and basically holds in his pride everytime Cole hands him a cupcake even though he actually wants one.

29) Morro is pretty airheaded most of the time, and is known to be the one kid who is the last to find out about recent trends and is know by everyone as the guy who lives under a rock.

KAI KAI KAI!

so the main lineup of my doomed AU is done YAY

if there is anything you’d like to hear about tell me bc i don’t have any idea as to what to continue with…

Timelineee:

So first of all I might get this completely wrong since I haven’t watched crystallized in a while but i will try

-Obviously the start of crystallized already has some major changes with Nya never turning into a human again

-Therefore they also never become the public enemies nr. 1

-In the meantime it’s mostly the new ninja that figure out all the crystal king stuff and boast it all around Ninjago

-Lloyd seeing everything still pretty rational at least compared to Kai (who to be fair just lost his sister and his brothers)so he decides to check this whole crystal thing out he infiltrates the council gets recognized and so on

-Kai after a while realizes that Lloyd hasn’t been checking in as he normally would so he decides to head out to find him

-Kai finds Lloyd yada yada everything as it is in canon

-The big fight starts but the other elemental masters are already there because otherwise they wouldn’t have a chance

-Lloyd and Garmadon go on to fight the Overlord while Kai pretty much leads everyone on the ground

-More and more people show up fighting on their side, people from prime empire, the ocean even some ghosts :)

-But even with all this support the fight seems to be a stalemate until the crystal army start pushing even further

-Kai watching allies and friends alike die in front of him is able to unlock the dragon form and turn the table in their favor

-Lloyd is also successful and wins his fight

-The citizens have a big celebration through the entirety of Ninjago in honor of the Ninja and their great victory

-Sadly ever since the big battle Kai has been growing incredibly tired to the point where he can’t stand for longer than 15 minutes

-At first Wu and Misako believed that it had to do with the dragon form but then decided that it couldn’t be the cause because Lloyd also unlocked his Oni form and while being a little shaken he is completely fine

-So they decide to set of to try and figure out what exactly is happening to Kai

-What they didn’t account for was that Lloyd had Oni blood in him which allowed him to use his Oni form

-Kai on the other hand is fully human and the dragon form that he took back then wants back the control of his body

-Slowly but surely he is transforming into a dragon and not the kind in the finale of crystallized but into an actual dragon

-Things start changing his hands growing bigger, horn breaking through his skull, his pupils changing shape and color…

-And while all this is happening all Lloyd could do was watch, watch as the last brother of his slowly looses hisself

Kai even once transformed into a full dragon (the lil sketch in the top left corner) never leaves Lloyds side. Heck, he seems even more protective now or at least more threatening with his fire mane, glowing eyes and black to red scales. Lloyd believes that Kai thinks that he is his clan especially since he has dragon blood in him. But he also thinks it’s weird that whenever Misako, Wu or anyone really tries to get to the monastery without him inviting them in, Kai will either pick them up and fly them to the bottom of the mountain or just throw them off it.

I mean just imagine Aryn having the wildest theories about where the Og’s went and Lloyd just standing there trying not to destroy this little boys entire world view (like he would be pretending that kai isn’t kai and so on)

Or Zane actually being able to get to Lloyd now since the realms have merged

So I came across a TikTok that basically said” Kai from Ninjago looks like the combination of Red Son and MK.” and then my mind decided to make an entire AU based on this but instead of Spicynoodles, it’s Chimera because Nya is Kai’s Sister and Nya looks closer to Mei. I also began rewatching Ninjago because of this, I’m on the season of after Nya’s sacrifice.

The Main Plots Points of Chimera’s Cubs

Kai is born maybe after 5-10 years after the whole LBD Thing, then Nya after two years

Kai and Nya were kidnapped by Mayor and were dropped off at Ray and Maya’s home

The Mayor jumped realms using the last of his magic to teleport to Ninjago and is also stuck there

“How did The Mayor get away with this?”you may ask, Easy,He set their home on fire as a distraction. As a result of this,they (Chimera) thought their children had died in the fire.

As a result of this, Chimera nearly fell apart because of their children’s deaths.

But when one of Red Son’s robot bull clones finds evidence that the kids survived the fire, they try and find out where they are for the next 17-ish years(haven’t fully decided yet)

They find them in between the ghost season and before Jin season

I combine both the movie & the show so they are all teens but Lloyd is a slightly younger teen (tween?), it takes a hot minute for them (mostly Kai) to start to like him. But when they do Kai becomes the best big brother ever. I guess a bit of an AU rundown below? don't read it

As a sort of synopsis of the set up..

 Once the former ninja all go missing or die unfortunately Wu has to call on a bunch of kids to help him get the golden weapons before Garm can. They do! (after Garmadon escapes)  & then they become the super secret ninja force! Sworn to protect the world from evil & hunt down magic items before they fall into the wrong hands.

soon they meet Lloyd who was kicked out of Darkley’s, not just for not being evil enough, but also being a little feral demon chimera who wants to take on the worlds greatest warlords or die trying. He’s not good or evil, just super wild & wants to fight about anybody & everybody.

Lloyd frees the Serpentine, completely wrecks serval villages, an excavation sight, the Walker scrapyard, Ect.., & sets Darkley’s on fire before inevitably being caught and brought to Wu (who didn't know he had a nephew until then) & is returned to his mother (former Empress Iron Dragon, who didn't know Lloyd was even in Darkley’s for a convoluted reason)

But turns out just saving a 13 year old from a bad school & some snakes doesn't take the menace out of them. & so Lloyd is made to volunteer at the monastery (that is a community center in Ninjago city now), & practice martial arts with the ninja to give him something better to do then plot to kill his forebears. Until he eventually calms down & outgrows his pre-teen malice to become a big soft tired tiger who loves his team even if they still grabble him & call him the baby no matter how big he gets.

so basically exploring the first 7 seasons of plot but with the same energy/personality as the movie or post season 8. well its more than that but this already feels like too much in one post. I'll elaborate in further bits later. Welcome 👹

SUBTERRANEAN NINJAGO AU (P2)

here’s Subterranean Kai, he’s first!

These are original designs so I’d appreciate you didn’t heavily reference, steal or copy them :)

If you aren’t aware what Subterranean AU is, again see the post before this one. Easy explanation, it’s a magical boy au with the ninjas as magical boys. In the AU the boys are all tied together to Lloyd in ribbons of fate. The AU takes place in an original setting I made for a group of ocs that I out the ninjas in.

If you seen the original you already know this but if not, this is his role in the story.

Kai uses his magic every once in a while, using their magic in public is dangerous and Kai knows that. He usually goes in the tunnels and speaks to other magics, having fun and being a bit reckless. While on the surface he’d never use his magic and actively used to ignore Ananthemas, once underground he liked to mess around with it. Letting his anger out with it, he fights to keep Nya safe, Nya who isn’t magic, which Kai thinks is a blessing, he’s always worried she’ll be the next victim of an Ananthema or she’ll be hurt by a selfish Magic, so he takes it upon himself to fight for her. He had only ever fought for himself and Nya. It wasn’t until he met Lloyd did he realize that he didn’t have to be alone, he didn’t have to fight mindlessly and anxiously for one person. He realized Lloyd became just as important, and it was heartbreaking to find out Lloyd was cursed with magic as well. When he found out he was fated with Lloyd, and there was nothing he could do to change it. He found a new purpose it life, of course he would still fight for Nya, but now he also had to fight for Lloyd. He was the most reluctant to join the team, he did so because of his love for Lloyd. He eventually finds happiness with the others as well.

His Magical boy outfit is visually based off a ninja cause I thought it fit him, this is not the case for the others so don’t be surprised if they don’t have a ninja theme, only he does. At first I based him off his Prime Empire design, with blonde hair but I thought the white hair suited the design better- his magic gem is located on his hand and his fate ribbon, the ribbon that ties the ninjas together, is wrapped around his waist. Not to be confused with the tiny ribbons on his wrists, his fate specific bow is around his waist.

Little Trivia I have thought up:

He and Nya live alone in an apartment in a lower class part of the city

He’s at least somewhere between 16-18 depending on how old you think the ninjas are, I’m indifferent

He goes to a city wide public school, but the school does have uniforms cause their city is wack.

His power isn’t just fire. It’s heat control, he can control heat similar to fire bending from atla. As long as he has body heat, or heat around him, he can control it. He can even suck the heat OUT of things with enough control. He usually fights with fire powered punches and kicks, not just shooting fire as he does in the show.

He works at a public library as an assistant for cash since their world doesn’t really need blacksmiths. His parents own a welding shop instead

He got his scar when he was little, a piece of metal flew at his face and cut his eye, he can still see out of the eye, it’s just a teeny bit fuzzy.

I've decided to combine my hyperfixations. Ninjago Httyd au. Don't ask me how this works.

Cole: Catastrophic Quaken

Quakens are bulky, intimidating Boulder class dragons that attack by slamming into the ground or their foe. Despite their appearance, they're actually big softies who are very protective of their friends. In other words, this is literally Cole as a dragon

Jay: Armorwing

Yes I know the skrill exists but hear me out. I'm basing these choices not only on element but also on personality, and I really don't think a skrill would be the right companion for Jay. They're just too scary. Armorwings are relatively solitary, but considering they are likely relatives of boneknappers I imagine they are really friendly so long as you don't threaten their hoard. Armorwings are scaleless, so they collect scrap metal and weld it to their bodies to protect themselves. Considering Jay's origin, I think an armowing would be great for him.

Kai: Monstrous Nightmare

You saw this coming. Your mom saw this coming. Everyone saw this coming. Monstrous nightmare is a stoker class dragon that can set itself on fire. They're flamboyant and very loyal, and even if they don't do what their rider wants all the time, they'll take orders when things get serious. There is no easier choice.

Zane: Razorwhip

Zane was... tough. Originally I wanted to give him a Bewilderbeast, but that dosent exactly work if I want this to be a proper au with stories. So even though I think it would be a perfect fit in both element and personality it just wouldn't work in a story. I could have gone with a snow wraith, but much like Jay and the Skrill I didn't think it would fit. Razorwhips are loyal dragons that have always seemed very serious to me, and they're protectors. Combined with the metal thing, I think it's a good fit.

Nya: Scauldron

This was another hard one. Scauldron seems like the obvious choice, being the main water dragon, but I didn't think it fit. Again, personality played a big part in these choices. Scauldrons are far from friendly and they have never really been trained. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. I wouldn't call Nya aggressive, but she's nowhere near as friendly as the rest of the ninja. The scauldron is also shown to get very homesick, and I think that matches Nya as well. Honestly I really wanted to pick something else but sadly there is a severe lack of tidal class dragons.

Lloyd: Rumblehorn

I thought Nya and Zane were hard... then I had to do Lloyd. There was no obvious choice here. There are very few green dragons, and certainly none with anything resembling Lloyd's powers. I honestly don't think a rumblehorn is a great fit either but there was no better option (please give me a better option). The reason I chose a Rumblehorn, aside from being 1 of 4 green dragons, is because rumblehorns are protectors. Unlike most social dragons who either live in packs or symbiotic relationships, rumblehorns protect other dragons, even when discouraged, without getting anything in return. Seems pretty fitting to me.

Morro: Stormcutter

(Yes I'm doing Morro too what do you expect)

Ok so I don't have the best reasons for this one but stormcutters are my favorite and so is Morro so shut up. Im going partially based on headcannons I have for him because there really aren't any evil dragons. Stormcutters are big 4 winged dragons that are very agile. They can be quite ferocious but are also very curious, and are arguably protectors. This might not be universal but Cloudjumper (Valka's stormcutter) seemed overall pretty tired and unamused by toothless/the babies antics, and that fits great with my redeemed Morro headcannons (poor boy is so tired of being alive).

That's all I have for now but I fully intend to make more of this au in the future. I plan on writing how I think each of them met their dragons and maybe their dragons names, and who knows maybe I'll draw some of this next time I have motivation. Let me know if you would like me to do more characters and which characters you'd want to see, or give me your takes and explain why all my choices are terrible.

Doing my own Timeline Shuffle AU for a exercise and here is what my randomized list resulted.

Note: I did split the Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu chapters Fire and Ice into their own parts. By coincidence they still randomized together. And I did not split the seasons by Eras.

The Rewrite Synopsis

S1 - Rise of the Snakes Kai Amai, a 16 year-old with his sister Nya Amai (13), had recently moved to Ninjago City with their foster mom (Mystake) from Ignacia and is trying his best to fit in to his new school. He finds himself wrapped in the crazy endeavors of a lone ninja Cole (17) and a candy-obsessed brat Lloyd (11) as the four kids are left to figure out the whereabouts of the Serpentine and why they're hollowing out the sewers of Ninjago City.

S2 - Master of the Mountains | 5 months later Kai is 16 | Nya is 13 | Cole is 17 | Lloyd is 11 With Pythor defeated and the Serpentine Tribes restored to peace, Kai and Nya join Cole's journey to sneak into Shintaro to recover a family heirloom of his mother's that has been rumored to be in possession of the questionable King Vangelis. When they get into the kingdom, can they rely on the help of Princess Vania to retrieve Lilly's locket? And who's this whacko inventor named Jay (17) who also snuck in to steal a pair of the royal's wings?

S3 - Sons of Garmadon | 1 year later Kai is 17 | Nya is 14 | Cole is 18 | Lloyd is 12 | Jay is 18 As the group settle back down home, word of a criminal group known to idolize a Warlord long suspected dead has been making a steady claim over the back roads of Ninjago City. With the inside help of a peculiar SoG member named "Snake Jaguar", can the group stop the "revival" of Lord Garmadon before the city is taken over?

S4 - Crystalized | 1 year later Kai is 18 | Nya is 15 | Cole is 19 | Lloyd is 13 | Jay is 19 | Zane is 20 When the last battle caused Nya's element to wipe her memories, the group are forced to hide her as the new Crystal King has collected villains old and new to take down the new heroes of Ninjago. But who is the Crystal King? Is this masked person stalking Lloyd really Harumi? And where is Garmadon???

S5 - Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu Fire Chapter | 2 months later Kai is 18 | Nya is 15 | Cole is 19 | Lloyd is 13 | Jay is 19 | Zane is 20 Nya is still trying to recover her memories and elemental control when the Crystal King (now revealed as the Overlord) has uncovered the tomb of the Ancient Serpentine Queen Asphreera! With her newly revived, her stolen staffs of Forbidden Spinjitzu signed by a mysterious FSM are capable of stealing the group's powers! With Kai down for the count from one staff, the gang can only do so much until Zane is zapped by the other staff to the Never Realm!

S6 - Secrets of Forbidden Spinjitzu Ice Chapter | 2 weeks later Kai is 18 | Nya is 15 | Cole is 19 | Lloyd is 13 | Jay is 19 | Zane is 20(?) As the group prep to defeat Aspheera, their plans go to pieces as Aspheera zaps everyone to the Never Realm after stealing the elemental staff. Now that they're too in the Never Realm, next best plan is to find Zane, and fast! But when clues allude to the Never Realm moving at a faster pace and Zane appearing to look the same despite the 2 week - 2 year difference between Realms, the group have more questions than how to return to Ninjago like- Is Zane even human?

S7 - Seabound (w/ The Island Prologue) | 1 month later Kai is 18 | Nya is 15 | Cole is 19 | Lloyd is 13 | Jay is 19 | Zane is 20(?) As the team return to Ninjago City, news of Clutch Powers and his eyes set on an elusive sea gem known as the Storm Amulet lead the team to a hidden island among endless storms. But with news of the Islanders being very protective of it, and a unknown underwater kingdom laying siege for the Amulet, the group are certain to stop Cliff! But as fate has it, Prince Kaalmaar of the Melopian kingdom has stolen the amulet and is now set on reawakening the mighty Wojira! Can Nya regain control of her element before Ninjago is flooded or will her element finally wash her away?

S8 - Rebooted | 5 months later Kai is 18 | Nya is 15 | Cole is 19 | Lloyd is 13 | Jay is 19 | Zane is 20(?) With Nya thankfully back in control of her element, the group now turn their minds to Zane and his non-human qualities. As they go to the help of Ninjago City's brightest mind, Cyrus Borg, for discovering Zane's origins. But as luck would have it, The Overlord and Pythor have blackmailed Cryus into working with them! With Pixal Borg now at the mercy of the Overlord, the group are now on a tight deadline to rescue her before the Overlord gains control of Ninjago! And where is Zane's creator, and why are the deadly duo, Cryptor and Mr. E deadset on killing Zane!?

S9 - Legacy of the Green Ninja | 1 year later Kai is 19 | Nya is 16 | Cole is 20 | Lloyd is 14 Jay is 20 | Zane is 21 | Pixal is 19 Zane was gone, swallowed by golden light and the element of Ice has not resurfaced since. With the group heartbroken, everyone is searching high and low for the possible new elemental master. But then Garmadon shows his face, speaking of a potential lead as his quiet journey across Ninjago have lead him to a hidden side of the world no one has dared to venture since the staring days of the Realm. But with the Overlord's silence and Zane MIA, the group have no choice but to follow Garmadon to the Dark Isles. There they find more mysteries like who the Overlord may be possessing, is Zane even alive, and what's up with the hidden temple laid high in the mountains?

S10 Pilots and Mini Movies | 1 year in-between Kai is 19 | Nya is 16 | Cole is 20 | Lloyd is 14 Jay is 20 | Zane is 21 | Pixal is 19 With the Overlord finally defeated, the Ninja and Garmadon have recovered Wu. Garmadon's brother that seemed to have faced a worse fate as the Overlord's puppet. And sadly, no sign of Zane. As the group now rest and learn more of their powers, Garmadon and Wu share stories of the olden days of Ninjago. Along the way, the Group choose to learn Wu's ninja lessons and gain a new home at the decrepit Monastery of Spinjitzu.

S11 - Tournament of Elements | 1 year later Kai is 20 | Nya is 17 | Cole is 21 | Lloyd is 15 Jay is 21 | Zane is 22 | Pixal is 20 As the group finish their ninja training, a mysterious invite to an island leads the team to a encoded distress call by Skylor (21). When they arrive, they are shocked to find that the prize for each contestant is personalized. As the group hope for their collective prize to be the return of their friend, a new master of Ice has been rumored to be a participant of the tournament...

S12 - Skybound | 3 months later Kai is 20 | Nya is 17 | Cole is 21 | Lloyd is 15 Jay is 21 | Zane is 22 | Pixal is 20 | Skylor is 21 With Garmadon willingly sealing himself back into the Cursed Realm, the group with the return of Zane and introduction of Skylor, hype for the new heroes are at a all time high! But as a new threat sails over Ninjago, Jay is now forced to come face to face with his abusive father and Captain of the Sky Pirates, Nadakhan, and come to terms with the past he ran away from.

S13 - Hunted | 5 months later Kai is 20 | Nya is 17 | Cole is 21 | Lloyd is 15 Jay is 21 | Zane is 22 | Pixal is 20 | Skylor is 21 The Sons of Garmadon are back and with another plan to revive Garmadon as the dark savior of Ninjago. And as Harumi and the remaining council don't want their plans to be interrupted, the Ninja are given another zap by Aspheera's staff. This time to the First Realm! As Cole, Jay, Kai, Wu, and Zane are stuck to traverse the dragon's den filled with endless desert and mad-max scrappers- Lloyd, Nya, Pixal, and Skylor are left as Ninjago's only defense! Hopefully the call for the other elemental masters will be answered before the Shadow of Garmadon destroys anything beyond the city!

S14 - Prime Empire | 4 months later Kai is 21 | Nya is 18 | Cole is 22 | Lloyd is 16 Jay is 22 | Zane is 23 | Pixal is 21 | Skylor is 22 The stress of dealing with another Realm hop, Jay is done! He's shut himself away in the most childish way possible, playing nothing video games from dusk to dawn! But as whispers among the arcade goers lead the Lightning Djinn to Prime Empire, a illegal MMO arcade cabinet- the group now must enter to recover their blue buddy! But not is all it's lead to be as the Mechanist has gained control over the Game Master Unagami and now both sides are on the hunt for Super Star Rockin' Jay!

S15 - Hands of Time | 7 months later Kai is 21 | Nya is 18 | Cole is 22 | Lloyd is 16 Jay is 22 | Zane is 23 | Pixal is 21 | Skylor is 22 Cole returns from the Ninjago History Museum after failing yet again to "reclaim" Serpentine artifacts, news of a new hall for the Serpentine War has Wu's interest peaked as all history was wiped of it years ago. But with the Saunder twins alluding to releasing "the real story" behind the war, the group grow worried of the potential uproar from the human populace. Guess it's time for Wu to come clean with the past.

S16 - March of The Oni | 1 month after Kai is 21 | Nya is 18 | Cole is 22 | Lloyd is 16 Jay is 22 | Zane is 23 | Pixal is 21 | Skylor is 22 With the new plans to gift the Serpentine much deserved land for their tribes to begin life above ground and the Time Twins stopped from rewriting history, the group are now reconnected to Garmadon's Shadow that warns of the return of the Oni. Aspheera's staff is taken by the Omega, and now villains and heroes must work together to keep their Realm from being swallowed by darkness!

S17 - Possession | 1 month later Kai is 22 | Nya is 19 | Cole is 23 | Lloyd is 17 Jay is 23 | Zane is 24 | Pixal is 22 | Skylor is 23 With the last connection to any Realms destroyed, the Villain league look for a new way to gain power. But they make the mistake of gaining the Realm Ring, a blue diamond ring encrusted with FSM with the ability to open portals to other Realms! Morro has now escaped the Cursed Realm thanks to the misuse of the Ring and now the heroes must track down Morro before he finds the other Jewels of the FSM and summons the Preeminent and her ghostly army to Ninjago!

S17 - Possession, Day of the Depart Epilogue Kai is 22 | Nya is 19 | Cole is 23 Lloyd is 17 | Jay is 23 | Zane is 24 Pixal is 22 | Skylor is 23 | Morro is 19 As Morro reunites with Wu, he is now able to come to terms with his actions. And with Day of the Departed around the corner, it'll be the perfect time to hand out candy with his father and- No one can see him. And this Master Yang requests his presence at the Temple of Cyclondo. Will Morro be able to stop Yang's plans to engulf the Realm in eternal night or will he succumb to Yang's promise for power?
