My dumbass almost burnt down my house
For lunch, I decided to have some ramen. I got it out opened the lid a bit, put it in the microwave, and went to go check my phone.
Three minutes later, my mom's yelling and I'm like what?!?
Well, you need water. And if you don't use it. The plastic and dry-as-fuck noodles will catch on FIRE.
I'm such an idiot and my house smells gross. Pay attention, kiddos.

Shinalice Fic: I Wrote A NonDeath Game Soulmate AU Fic But Madness Happened Everytime I Tried To Write This Thing So It Could Be Cursed
"Hmph, such an annoying bunch…"
The words are curious ones. Ever since Shin was little, he's heard of stories of soulmates, more specifically, that the writing on your arm will be the first words you ever hear your soulmate say. He shouldn't be thinking about this during work hours, but it's hard to help on slow days.
He's spent hours thinking of these words. Is his soulmate introverted? Or is he a jerk? It's hard to tell from five simple words. Shin's wracked his brain for context. In what situation would this sentence be uttered?
At a party? At work? Said in the street by a passerby? It's impossible to tell.
In what scenario will he and this mysterious stranger meet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"C…Calm down! Could you start at the beginning?"
Alice rubs the words on his arm. They're confusing. It seems he'll meet his soulmate in a time of stress.
"Hmph, what type of person do you think would utter such words?"
Reko looks over at him in confusion, noticing his focus on the words.
"Dunno. Maybe they're jumpy? Or you're going to get yourself worked up again, and they'll say something. Could be a nurturing type?"
That doesn't sound impossible, but he wishes the words were more exact. Couldn't they have mentioned music, or coffee, or books, or anything hinting to where they'd meet? It might ruin the surprise, but it's hard not to be antsy to meet the love of your life.
Alice can't shake the antsiness he feels. His stomach growls, and it brings a welcome distraction. If he can't settle down, he'll run to the store and grab a snack. Surely this will get his mind off everything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shin doesn't bother to look up when a customer enters the store. He's too focused on the words on his arms to care what some stranger is buying. Whoever it is, is quiet as they head straight towards the snacks. But the quiet doesn't last long.
A group of teens comes shortly behind them. They're loud and dart over to the drink aisle without a care in the world. They knock over several products along the way that Shin knows he'll have to restock.
"Hmph, such an annoying bunch…"
Shin's head turns towards the unknown stranger so quickly he nearly gives himself whiplash. He's a handsome man with bright pink eyes and a striped shirt.
Shin wants to say something. But what should he say? The man is shuffling through snacks without a care in the world. Whatever he says next is what's been on this stranger's arm his entire life. Is "I know, right." cool? What if this man isn't his soulmate and Shin misheard?-
*CRASH*
"YIKES!"
The man knocks over the snack rack, and it falls with a thud. The teenagers dart at the noise, taking some merchandise with them in the chaos. A girl with red and blue hair apologizes on the way out, but she's the least of Shin's worries.
The stranger whirls around and see's Shin, his eyes landing on the name tag.
"Be more careful with the racks you select! It was unstable. It could have fallen over on me!"
The man looks upset. This isn't how Shin wanted things to go.
"C…Calm down! Could you start at the beginning?"
The man looks shocked, and Shin cringes. Did he...did he get that sentence stuck on this man's arm forever? The man looks at his arm and back to Shin in surprise. Oh no, he did.
"EXCUSE ME?! REPEAT THAT SENTENCE, PLEASE!"
"Calm down?!"
"IT'S YOU! What words are on your arm? If it's about the rack, I retake that sentiment."
Shin rolls up his sleeve, showing off the words imprinted on his skin like a tattoo.
"Erm. I overheard you earlier. So...we're soulmates?"
The man runs a finger down Shin's arm, admiring the words that became so important. Shin has to hold down his laughter of the obscurity of it all. Meeting the love of your life because they knocked over a snack rack? That's his luck. But it's not bad luck...just a funny kind.
"It appears so!.... What are we supposed to do now?!"
It's a good question. Shin still has work for a few hours, and his boss isn't the type to give time off.
"I have work for a while. You could sit in the back, ahaha?"
"Mwhaha, nervous? We have plenty of time to chat! Now, how do you feel about the legendary band Samurai Yaiba? Have you heard of us?"
"Us? You're in a band?!"
Shin has no idea who this man is. But fate has decided they are to be together. Whoever he is, whatever things he enjoys, Shin wants to learn it all. The man seems eccentric, but Shin isn't bothered. It seems like a lifetime of entertainment is coming this way.

BNHA Writers’ Fest Missions 2 and 4
A/N: I suck at cooking so I based 100% of the recipes Todoroki used on things I found online. Also, I tried to incorporate things in the secret santa messages here so if my secret santa is reading this... *wink* - I know the prompt was ‘first date’ but this is an anniversary date so, yeah - Blue
pairing: Todoroki x fem!Reader
prompt(s): ‘first date’ and ‘favorite food’
word count: 1466
It was December, and y/n knew it was coming. Shouto and y/n had been dating for a while now, and it was finally your anniversary. Being the considerate person he is, he wanted to plan the perfect evening, commemorating a year with his favorite person. He knew you enjoyed pasta carbonara and decided it would be the ideal dish. He convinced Bakugou to share the kitchen, allowing him to prepare this for you, and persuaded Kirishima, Kaminari, and Jirou into taking you out, giving him time to prepare.
“If I find any of my Wusthof knives missing, you’re dead! And that’s on All Might, you half-and-half bastard!” exclaimed Bakugou, being practically dragged out of the kitchen by his fellow classmates.
Todoroki shot him a “don’t worry about it, I’m not Kaminari” glance and went into the kitchen.
He started with the pasta batter, the aspiring pro-hero wanted this meal to be 100% made from scratch, he felt that it would make it much more meaningful. The dual-powered hero didn’t worry too much about the time it would take him. After all, he had all day.
First, he measured the ingredients; three large eggs, two cups all-purpose flour, one tablespoon olive oil, and one teaspoon salt. He beat the eggs with a fork, the same way he had seen Bakugou do it. The explosive boy was a very talented cook and during weeks prior, Shouto studied the way he worked around the kitchen. He added the oil and the salt until his concoction adopted a uniform, bright, yolk color. He poured the mixture into another bowl connected to a stand-mixer, and slowly added the flour. However, he accidentally poured too much too quickly, covering the entire kitchen in a layer of white flour. He would worry about Bakugou later.
He let the mixer do its thing for ten minutes and proceeded to knead the dough with his hands, forming various shapes and disassembling them. After kneading for what felt like forever, he made a ball and encased it with saran wrap. He put it in the freezer to rest for an hour and decided to start cleaning the kitchen, he wanted to be alive for his date.
Meanwhile, y/n and the rest of the bakusquad were roaming the mall, looking for the perfect sweater for Shouto. Even though he had a quirk that allowed him to regulate his body temperature, Shouto usually ran cold and enjoyed wearing sweaters. After hours of walking in and out of countless stores, y/n was stressed.
“Can’t anyone make a quality sweater in this atrocious mall!” ranted y/n, tired of this endless search.
“I mean, the last store we visited had a very nice green one,” interrupted Kirishima, trying to calm his friend down.
“Are you kidding? The material it was made out of was very scratchy and uncomfortable,” retorted y/n.
“Agreed, especially since I’m the one trying them!” added Kaminari, who had tested all sweaters y/n had asked him to.
“You volunteered,” remarked y/n.
“Yeah, and your body’s most similar to Todoroki’s. If Kirishima had tried them, they would’ve been too big,” added Jirou.
After trying out all the stores in the mall, you decided to head to the next one. Shouto’s gift had to be perfect. Y/n was not planning on giving up anytime soon. They entered a small, niche, pro-hero merch store. After walking through the aisles, you saw it.
This is it, this is the perfect gift.
Shouto opened the freezer to find his dough converted into a very stiff block. Oh no. He reread the recipe Bakugou had left him and noticed he was supposed to put it in the fridge, not the freezer. He used his fire powers to melt it just enough to make it pliable and started kneading again. He rolled the dough out into a rectangle and carefully cut strips with a knife. Shouto had watched multiple tutorials on how to do it and managed to acquire a hefty amount of strings of dough. He had to leave them out to dry for two hours so he started working on the beverages.
After a year of dating you, he knew all your favorite things to make this night perfect; your favorite drink, food, flowers, you name it. Since he knew you loved Christmas, he decided to make this night Christmas themed.
Shouto remembered you mentioned you love your mother’s cranberry-apple cider. While preparing for the whole ordeal, he called y/n mother and asked for the recipe. He started by cutting the apples, careful not to chop off one of his fingers. He added the apple chunks along with two cups of sugar, water, and three tablespoons of cinnamon, inside a pot and left them simmering for an hour. Then, he lowered the heat and added more water and cranberry juice. He poured the brew into a glass jar and left it to cool in the fridge.
Shouto went back to the now-dry pasta and started to boil some water. He poured the noodles into the boiling liquid and waited four minutes for the pasta to cook. The red-and-white haired teen drained the water out and put the pasta in a bowl. He heated a pan and poured olive oil and two egg whites on it. He stirred rapidly, making sure not to overcook the eggs and added the pasta, later incorporating bacon squares he had cut earlier.
It was nighttime and the stars could be seen glimmering next to the moon through the common room window. Y/n knew Shouto had something in mind when he asked her friends to take her out. Unlike him, she wasn’t oblivious. However, y/n was planning on going out anyway, so she took the opportunity.
As y/n walked in, she could see a beautifully set table and her stylish suitor sitting in one of the chairs. How could he be so dreamy? Y/n sat down and looked at the tasty course served in front of her, next to it was a jar with a single lily.
“You did all of this yourself? For me?” asked y/n, surprised at the level of thought her boyfriend put into this.
“Of course y/n! Who else would it be for?” wondered Shouto.
“I only have a lousy gift in comparison,” added y/n embarrassed she couldn’t think of a better idea.
“If it’s from you I’m sure I’ll love it,” comforted Shouto, wearing a smile on his face. His smiles were rare but when they appeared, it was a blessing. Y/n could feel the fluttery feeling she got back when she noticed she had a crush on him.
“Okay, here,” said y/n as she handed him the gift, nervous to see his reaction.
When Shouto opened it, his mouth formed a bright smile. He held it up in front of him to take it in completely. It was an All Might pullover hoodie, with the silver age All Might colors, and a yellow hood with the iconic, bunny-shaped strands of hair. Unbeknownst to many, Shouto is a huge All Might fan. He often joined Midoriya to study his old battles, going into deep analyses and creating fan-theories which they would later ask their sensei to confirm.
“Thank you, I love it,” said Shouto as he put it on.
Once y/n tried the dish Shouto had prepared, it was hard to keep a straight face. It tasted terrible. Was the pasta supposed to this chewy? Why was it so salty?
“Oh, this is awful,” announced Shouto after trying it himself, breaking the silence between the two of you.
“It’s the effort what matters right?” comforted y/n, offering a small smile.
“I guess. Let’s try the cranberry-apple cider, I’m pretty sure I got that one right.”
Shouto poured two glasses of the cider and added cinnamon. As y/n drank it, memories of her childhood filled her head, giving her a cozy, familiar feeling.
“Is this,” y/n looked directly into Shouto’s heterochromatic eyes, with a delighted expression; “my mother’s recipe?”
Shouto gave a small nod and glanced away while blushing. Y/n got closer to him and looked again at his ravishing eyes, making her face adopt a scarlet color. Shouto looked back at her grazing y/n’s cheek with his fingers as he leaned in for a kiss. When their lips made contact, y/n could feel herself falling harder for her boyfriend; the fluttery feeling he gave her drove her crazy. After disconnecting, y/n was sure of one thing and one thing only.
“I love you.”
Shouto’s piercing iron and cobalt eyes stared back at her with an unreadable expression.
“I love you too,” affirmed Shouto as he pulled y/n back into a tight embrace.
Moments like this reminded y/n that she was already head over heels for him, and he was head over heels for her.

The office where I work is in some system somewhere that means we get automated calls from the school district three cities over, which are usually like “Reminder that Monday is a holiday” or “Parent teacher conferences are this week” Today the call was “A bulletin board caught fire, but the building was evacuated and the fire department responded promptly so everyone is fine”
