I just got into watching link click and I just finished the 2nd ep and I have a question.

These two had something, right? Like, I am not tweaking when I say these two had something going on? Like the episode compared them to romantic partners way too many times for me to think it was casual.

Jinx getting to be the cutesy mommy hero figure all through s2 (despite murdering kids, gassing people, getting countless zaunites enslaved/killed, etc.) and then getting to fuck off after that with no consequence while caitlyn is compared to the worst people in human history for doing a fraction of that and actively working to undo her actions after that.. im never not gonna foam at the mouth about it

A little snippet from my current wip for the @wukoweek2025 prompt Growing Old:

Mako drags his palm along the arm Wu had flung across his waist and takes Wu's hand into his own, brushes his thumb across the soft skin over the fluttering beat of Wu's pulse, traces the knobs of Wu's knuckles as he sighs and curls himself tighter against Mako's side.

"I've missed this," Wu murmurs against him, his breath ghosting across Mako's chest. "Missed just being with you." He raises himself up onto one elbow, hovering over Mako and scanning his face like he wants to freeze this moment in amber and commit every last intricacy to memory. One of his vivid green eyes shines like a jewel in the silvery light of the waxing moon while his once carefully coiffed curls—made a ruin by Mako's roving hands—hang in a loose, shimmering wave over his forehead and cast his other eye into deep shadow.

It knocks the breath from Mako's lungs, and for a moment he can only stare back. In his mind's eye he watches every version of Wu he'd known and loved—and those he'd yet to meet—converge into a single fixed point above him, into a man not quite old but no longer young, and just as beautiful as the day he'd flounced his way into Mako's world like it was his, too.

"So did I," he replies finally, not quite managing to smother the rough edge to his voice.

Wu smiles down at him, the fine lines around his eyes and lips crinkling cheerfully in open defiance of the innumerable tinctures and lotions he applies religiously every morning and night. The years had sharpened his features, had accentuated the ridge of his brow and hollowed his cheeks, but the bright, spirited spark in his eyes remained.

Mako prayed it always would.

"I missed Laoban too," Wu says, inexplicably, and then his slim fingers dart toward Mako's face, fast as a whip, one of them worming its way into his right nostril before his brain even has a chance to register what's happening.

"Wha—hey, get out of there!" Mako pushes Wu's hand away, half-laughing half-sneezing at the intrusion. "Hold on, did you name my nose hairs?"

Wu flops back onto the pillows with a grin, his teeth flashing white and his eyes glittering in the gloom. "Just the gray one."

Mako sniffs and shakes his head. "Laoban, huh?"

He steels himself as Wu reaches out again, but this time it's just to tap the tip of Mako's nose. "Distinguished name for a distinguished gentleman."

"Hmm. So gray hairs are distinguished, then," he says, his tone artificially light, and Wu narrows his eyes as Mako's trap reveals itself.

Mako twists, pressing a kiss to the creases deepening at the corner of Wu's mouth as he frowns. "I'm just saying, you could have a whole head of Laoban if you wanted," he adds, carding gentle fingers through Wu's hair and casting an appreciative eye over the suggestion of silver shimmering at the roots.

Wu hums, thoughtful. "I suppose I could throw out that pot of dye I just opened a week ago, but ohhh, I don't know, that seems...what was that phrase you used earlier? 'Financially unwise?'"

Mako snorts. "Ok, you got me there," he says, and then reaches out to cup Wu's face and pull him close, his skin warm against Mako's palm and his mouth soft against Mako's lips.

im curious, when ur writing do u typically adhere to the ec or no?

i adhere to a lot of the ec established facts but don’t strictly follow the outlined future the ec proposes! i’ll hardly outright deny the past (although i do think there have been fics where i dramatized or enlarged canon facts) but the future is wide open and wanting and i still think everyone getting married to their college sweetheart and having kids is an uninteresting way to end an otherwise very interesting story ✋

It's not gonna be big, but dialogue has been running in my head 24/7 and if I don't write it down I'll explode. Writing is a fun break from drawing besides and I genuinely feel like slowly dissecting other characters is helping me revisit my original stories, and dissect my own characters and bring more continuity and subtlety into them.
