I feel so mean for saying that, but you know what I think would be ironically funny about the foreshadowing now that Marinette will loose her memories at one point, so Alya will obviously have to somehow restore it again (cuz no way is that gonna be more than a 2 parter thing. There are no stakes in this)?
If its not some outside force that forces Marinette to do it or some situation that actually requires for Marinette as guardian to give up her memories to keep the Miraculous save
It would be so funny atp if it happens because Marinette is stressed(tm) again and can't handle it when her giant web of lies are revealed by Lila, and because people are having some kind of a negative reaction and don't immediately prioritise her, she thinks that's the worst possible thing that ever happened and gives up her guardianship and memories of the last year to escape that and go back to being normal girl with a normal life Marinette.
I know it's so mean, but I can see it happening so easily that this is what the temporary memory loss will be. And then Alya has to talk to memory Marinette to find out why she gave up her memories, is told by her in pretty words that it's yet again her avoiding any long overdue consequences of her inactions (and bad choices), so Alya has to clue in memory-less Marinette on what happened until Marinette eventually make the decision to use whatever random way they'll come up with to restore her memories and face the reality "for the greater good"
But of course only AFTER everyone learned to not be mad at her for anything and view her as the true victim bc "don't you see how much she suffered? Everyone was so unreasonable and mean and bullying her that she felt the need to give up her memories! Grrrrrr, don't be mean to Marinette! It's not her fault she never said anything!"
Everybody in the fandom is angsty as shit about this, but I think this is way more likely to happen. The ultimate way out of facing consequences when the lies are out that doubles as perfect way to make everyone priorities her feelings again
---
Damn, anon, you cooked with this. I have nothing more to add other than this is perfectly in character and matches how the show has repeatedly handled Marinette’s “consequences”. Marinette’s consequences for her behavior are always self-inflicted punishments. She makes herself feel bad, she calls herself bad things, she convinces herself she’ll never find love and doesn’t deserve it. Even her Lucky Charm had now been a part of her self-flagellation. Taking away her own memories because she doesn’t “deserve” to be a hero anymore is 100% in character as a reaction to her web of lies coming undone.
It even comes with the follow-up that Adrien’s justified anger at her no longer has a target. Adrien is no longer “justified” in being mad at Marinette, because Marinette can’t remember doing that, so holding her responsible would be unfair and mean. Adrien has to, once again, be the bigger person and let his hurt go to help Marinette.

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Reviews: The Shanghai Special
Fun fact: I went to the real New York City in the gap between my reviews. I hated it more than the special. It was oversized and drab. Also, I decided: no more tagging stuff as salt! Salt is a symbol of deranged hatred, and I want to be a fair critic! I don't hate Marinette, I just hate how she practices stalking and gets away with it. Either way,
Shanghai Shanghai Shanghai Shanghai; Hourai Hourai Hourai Hourai; FRANCO HOLLAND TIBET KYOTO LONDON RUSSIAN ORLEANS!
(Watch as I hate the special again, lmao.)
Alright, starting off with narmy dialogue, greed and tragedy, and a cool sacred cave.
Oooh, this girl! I don't remember her name, Fei Wu, right? But she's got a neat and detailed backstory!
"Everything was going well, until it wasn't."
Marinette, that's weird.
I heard she wanted to visit Shanghai not to learn about her roots, but to see more Adrien. It's even more disappointing to watch it happen, though.
Such sweet parents!
PSYCHOLOGY
I think he wanted you to help cook, Marinette.
This is actual stalking. The crushing disappointment is growing worse.
I love Adrien's Dad. He's silly, he cares for Adrien, he loves action figures, and he's a person magnitudes better than Hawkmoth!
Gabriel's moving like he's in a videogame lmao
So is Fei Wu. Amazing. I love her and I'd watch an entire show about her.
Sticky fingers! Amazing!
Big fan of the talking bird too. What's his ordeal?
I love the artist method of talking. And the artist's struggle. Kinda odd Marinette's looking for her earrings rather than her phone. I mean I know they make her Ladybug and everything but wouldn't her phone be useful to tell the people you're staying with what's going on? Ladybug isn't very discrete either.
Oh right. The greedy prick again.
As always, Capitalism is the true villain.
Oooh, new transformation music!
Damn, Big News.
Oh god all the ironies going on. Fei is in a deep tar pit. It's like Seinfeld again.
Zamn. Girlie had a whole character arc back there.
Pfft the prodigious kwamis are giving tutorial guides while Fei's trying to survive
Oh. It's just a puff of smoke? Whatever. I love shapeshifters.
Holy hell. Hawkmoth akumatized the guardian, of all people? Is he even sapient? Can Hawkmoth akumatize, like, dogs and cats?
VIBE CHECK
"I'm not worthy of this!" Neither is the guardian. Bro is disintegrating people left and right.
Oh right. He got possessed and isn't in his right mind.
Another plan where Marinette gets swallowed.
Mmmf. Good "what have I done?" thing. I like it.
So he's also a Kwami? Can Hawkmoth akumatize kwamis?
Pfft the excuses
Hey, that wasn't too bad! I really liked Fei's story here, although the whole revenge thing felt forced and crude. Someone who is understandably pissed about someone ruining their father's dojo and eventually life for greed and having to steal to survive (girl is practically homeless, let's be real. At some point she had to use that pawn shop cash for food or clothes that aren't rags.) has to learn about humility and everything while a girl that went to Shanghai to see the boy she has a crush on there gets off not really scot-free, but without having consequences directly for her actions. No matter. It was better than the cheating nonsense in the New York Special.

For my wonderful Mexican goofball. @ratatatbug2 ❤️♥️❤️♥️🥰
"Do you remember your first Christmas?" Kagami asked as she peeled the vegetables for dinner. It was the only thing that she trusted herself to do. Her and cooking seemed to have a genuine hatred of each other.
" No. But I remember being told I was a loud and annoying little shit. I think being an infant contributed to that. It's just a theory, of course." Dustin rolled his eyes and scowled at the gravy.
"I remember mine. I spent it with Adrien and his family. Amilie was a rather good cook actually."
"You remember that far back?" Dustin asked scepticaly with a raised eyebrow. " Kagami, I know you're smart, but there's no way you can remember 28 years back."
"It wasn't 28 years. It was 14." Kagami pointed out. And sliced another strip of carrot skin off rather angrily.
Dustin sighed and cursed himself for forgetting. The weird sentimonster thing still tripped him up sometimes, and he always felt guilty about it.
"I have memories of previous years, of course. But those are all lies, aren't they? I just want hers to be special."
"Darling, she's not going to remember this."
"I know." Kagami replied. " And I know you hate this time of year. You don't have to help with my fantasy."
"Hey, any year I don't have to listen to Diane gush about her new man while spewing racial slurs is a step up for me." Dustin chuckled. "Although, the bets I had with Derek and Damien were fun."
"Bets?"
" We had this poll. It was how long the new guy would last. Sometimes, even Uncle Richard joined in."
" Sounds like you had fun." Kagami smiled. " I wish I had siblings. Although I suppose Marinette is good enough."
"She's better." Dustin insisted. " All the fun, none of the drama."
" Still. My plans haven't changed. She will have this year, and then at the end of next, we can try for another one."
Dustin gave a small shudder, but he managed to smile despite the fear.
" Yes, I am aware in that state I'm..."
" Insufferable? Bitchy? Scary as hell?"
Kagami scowled at him. "I was going to say difficult."
Dustin chuckled in response. "Potato patato"
"Speaking of potatoes." Kagami replied, changing the subject. "Go easy on the salt. She's got a sensitive palate."
"Ah yes. That's why she eats sand at the beach."
The couple burst out laughing in response. Before it was cut short by their guests crying.
Kagami jumped up and went to resolve the issue, considering her peeling technique was about all she offered to the process of cooking.
Kimiko stired in her crib. Annoyed at the dropped toy that had somehow slipped though the bars.
"You’re definitely my daughter." Kagami insisted as she gave the infant back her prize. "Too smart for your own good."
Kimiko glared in response and raised her arms in expectation of a hug. An expectation Kagami was powerless to resist.
"Merry Christmas, Kimiko." Kagami said simply, after kissing her daughter on her forehead.

It is the first day of the year, and while I don't like doing New Year's Resolutions (they kind of create pressure/expectations that make me less likely to keep up with them), I do have a few projects I'd like to try on, follow them as I have time and enjoy them, but won't beat myself up if I give up on one or only do it intermittently. And I decided to talk about them here too whenever I feel like it so I have a record.
I'll be tagging posts about them as "#free time fun" if you wish to block them.
Each of these projects has some outside guidance on when to do what but without any consequences if I don't, and they will result in either a nice thing at the end for me to see what I've done, or will make me feel good.
BAMCAL: For this ravelry crochet along, every month they offer about 3 patterns for different crochet blocks/squares that can afterwards be combined into a blanket. I'd like to do at least one square per month and eventually join them into a present for my best friend
Cooking Calendar: For Christmas, my parents gave me a bi-weekly calendar that features literary quotes alongside a seasonal recipe, and I'm aiming to cook whatever is featured there on a day I have enough time for something new. I already know a few recipes I'll be skipping (I have just never warmed up to eggplant being the main reason) but the first one is a nice sweet potato thing I'm already looking forward to
Yoga Flow: The youtube channel Yoga with Adriene releases a 30-day yoga challenge each January and so far I always managed to remember it in like February and even when I tried didn't stick with them for terribly long (though I almost finished the very first one a few years ago). Let's see if actually doing them on the way they're posted goes better! If yes, I'll again try to tackle some of the old ones too afterwards.
Ballet Vids: This one's a little less structured but there are two youtube ballet series I'd like to follow with some regularity to supplement the adult beginner class I've been taken in a local studio. Ballet Misfit does a wonderful beginner course (several of them, actually) and Everyday Ballet has a beginner-friendly choreo for the Waltz of the Flowers I want to learn. At least the second one though will be relegated until after January.

Okay so I marathoned episodes 13-20 in one go so I'm going to put my thoughts under a read more for anyone who doesn't want spoilers for any of those episodes. I can't remember which episode was which exactly and I'll probably talk back and forth over things as I think if them-
So just don't look under the read more if you're avoiding spoilers for S5 Episodes 13-20. Sorry I kind of talk all over the place. I'm sleep deprived and still wallowing in post-episode emotion.
Okay so top of my list is how heavy handed the clues are getting for Adrien's sentiness. It's not an elusive hint that can be easily dismissed now.
The show literally makes it clear with their horror short of Gabriel looming out of the darkness with an ominous "No, Adrien." just as Adrien is about to kiss Marinette. Adrien then pulls back from the kiss and doesn't know why.
Seriously that moment gave me chills cause for me that is the scariest Gabriel/Monarch has appeared for me in a long time.
Then there's the matter of Nathalie giving "counter orders" to try and give Adrien wriggle room around his father's commands.
So it's all very much laid out in front of us and it continues to be nodded at again and again. Adrien has to be a Senti.
It's a concept that I've come to like the idea of. It has potential for a lot of interesting themes and developments for Adrien's character arc. But I do also fear how it will be handled. Miraculous Ladybug hasn't exactly been consistent in it's storytelling, often forgetting what should be very important story elements (like LadyNoir just seemingly not caring in Kwami's Choice) as well as often retconning or even just forgetting the rules the show had previously established.
I do appreciate that they're showing Adrien's distress at there being something wrong. Even if it's only subconscious, there's definitely some awareness there. I just don't know how much time and space the show will allow to really go into how deeply unsettling this actually is. You would think they would address it fully, but until I see it happen I'm trying to keep my expectations low (because the lack of LadyNoir side in Kwami's Choice was already sorely disappointing).
But what this second half of the season is doing so well for me is with Adrinette.
Derision did butcher side characters for no reason, but it firmly established past and present Adrinette. Marinette's previous trauma and how that has (quite tragically) affected her crush on Adrien, and how Adrien is choosing to meet Marinette at where she is now.
Every time he does something with her, it is Adrien offering himself to Marinette. He holds his hand out to her and has shown just how deep his care and patience goes. It's reminiscent of those gentle LadyNoir moments where Ladybug is terrified or distraught, but Chat is right there with her to support and encourage her going forward.
I am loving Adrinette finding their footing and pacing with each other, outside of other people's influence. (Like the whole thing with the miracuclass setting up the perfect Adrinette kiss on the Ferris wheel was a bit much for me. I actually felt a bit mad at how forced it was despite how uncomfortable it was making them. Honestly, the miracuclass are getting worse than season 1 Marinette at this point...) Adrinette are doing their own thing. Like a pajama picnic? That is something that is just so them. And they're not ashamed by it! Adrien embraces Marinette's weirdness and Marinette is so understanding of Adrien's situation.
Seriously, the confrontation between Gabriel and Marinette was horrible (in a good way). We know her choice will always be Adrien, but we see her faced with that dilemma laid out in front of her with a very real and intense threat! (Also someone please remove Gabriel from the kitchen. He's been cooking nothing but pancakes for months now and has started to use pancake metaphors).
But not only does Marinette reject Gabriel's shitty capitalism offer, she then goes to Adrien to reaffirm with him where she stands. She refuses to abandon him. One of Adrien's biggest fears and she tells him outright that she won't do it, even defying his father to do so.
Adrien's abandonment issues is something I like to explore a bit in fic writing, so this scene was brilliant to see happen in canon!
The parallels between Marinette and Gabriel are also getting really good. Marinette is trying her best to not be looking to control every outcome while Gabriel is grasping at whatever he can to not let any ounce of control slip!
Watching Gabriel use Second Chance to redo a phonecall with Tsurugi was honestly fucking hilarious for me. Especially because minutes before Adrien and Marinette were on the phone and Marinette may have practiced a script beforehand, but was still trying to improvise on it. Gabriel meanwhile is resetting at the first sign of resistance.
Monarch has been a consistent enough villain this season, but it's Gabriel who is becoming a more prominent threat. And it's scary to watch. Gabriel is getting more impatient and is no longer separating his behaviours.
In earlier seasons Gabriel kept himself separated and made orders from afar (usually through Nathalie). But now he is actively meddling in his son's life and making threats to a teenage girl. While Gabriel is still appearing calm and collected, he's definitely losing his cool more and behaving more thoughtlessly. He doesn't care about consequences as long as Adrien conforms. (Once again, heartbreaking to watch Adrien trying to stand against his father only to find that he just can't.)
Gabriel is clearly on his way out and it's definitely looking like Lila's on her way in. I know she's the obvious next villain in line, but it still doesn't feel all that earned to me. Lila's existence has been very sporadic throughout the show and most of the time she's been used for petty school drama - which I do not care about. I'm getting tired of that honestly. Chloe at least had the excuse of (her parents') power and influence, whereas Lila just lies. And everyone still believes her. Even Alya somehow. The miracuclass falling for it still irks me, but Alya still shrugging Marinette's concerns off just baffles me. It's just more character assassination to me. Well maybe assassination is a strong term for it, but in these recent episodes I'm really not caring for the behaviour of most side characters.
Side characters winners though are: Kagami, Zoe and Felix! I've honestly loved each of them a little more every time they show up.
I love how much Kagami we've gotten and how the complexities of her emotions mixed with her relationships is really affecting her. She is such a hard situation that she's not over Adrien but she still loves her friends and wants to support Adrinette! (Looks like she mighht be changing targets though...)
Felix was a lot of fun to see again. I definitely want to see more of Argos. He's in a very unique position because he had a miraculous but is very against using its power. He found having to release one amok already just so distressing, even though he realises just how wrong and dangerous it was. It's a mistake that he's whole heartedly bearing as his own.
Zoe's been making small improvements in my opinion of her too. Is she necessary? I'm still not sure about it. But I'm enjoying how she's coming into her own. I'll admit I didn't like her as the Black Cat in Kwami's Choice. That didn't feel deserved to me. It felt very last minute with the reasoning shoehorned in. But I like her as a character. She actually has a personality that's starting to appear now. Plus the hints of Zoenette were super adorable.
I finally caught up with all of the available S5 episodes and I'm an emotional wreck.
No one touch me while I sob on the floor.

another long day
crimson and bluebell: part two
summary:
Marinette Rossi is tired of everything: from Lila’s constant berating and Madame Rossi’s preferential care of her ‘angel-like’ daughter, to how everyone at school (even Alya) seems to believe her evil stepsister over her.
It’s like she’s Cinderella, except without the fairy godmother and the happy ending. She doesn’t even have a prince.
Or so she thinks.
Between the appearance of a new boy who seems to have captured her heart, and a gala run by her fashion idol Gabriel Agreste, Marinette hopes for an escape the constant ignorance, workload, and bullying she endures, and get a blissful life of her own.
With the help of one tiny god and a meow-velous partner, she might finally get a chance, but not everything is that simple.
They say ladybugs are lucky, so will being the elusive Ladybug bring Marinette the luck she oh-so-desperately needs?

a/n: so hi again, it’s me, n! im so so so sorry that i didn’t post for a long time, school caught up with me and everything’s getting v stressful these days. regardless, my new year’s resolution is to post more of these, and i’ll actively make an effort to do that hehe, in the meantime, enjoy!
also i’m appalled at the fact that this was 15 pages long and took more than a month to write how are you doing
Tumblr media
Marinette had thought that the whole coffee spill, glass breaking fiasco would be relatively easy to clean.
She was wrong.
It takes her all of 10 minutes to clean up the glass, and another 20 minutes to try and clean up the coffee.
Key word: try.
Marinette ends up at school 30 minutes late, the coffee-stained carpet rolled off to the side at home, effectively ruined. She hasn’t even thought about the cracked glass table yet, which she hid by placing a tissue over top of it after Lila left.
Needless to say, all of this puts a little bit of a damper on her day.
As Marinette walks up the staircase of Francois Dupont, the school she goes to, she spots Alya Cesaire inside. Alya is Marinette’s closest friend, and despite having moved to Paris only a year ago, it feels like Marinette has known her for their entire lives.
“Girl, girl, girl…” Alya sighs as Marinette walks through the doors. It’s a free period, and students litter the area. Marinette spots Lila walking with one of her friends on the other side of the school, and luckily, Lila doesn’t see her.
There’s one good thing about school that Marinette adores: she doesn’t have to see Lila. Lila’s always had Madame Mendeleev for homeroom, and Marinette’s had Madame Bustier. Because of this, their schedules never interact, which allows Marinette to avoid Lila for the duration of the school day.
“I’m so sorry!” Marinette pleads, running up to Alya and shrugging her backpack off her shoulder. “There was a coffee spill, and glass broke, and-OH GOD I MISSED THE MATH TEST!!!”
“Marinette, chill,” Alya laughs. “The math test got rescheduled, but Ms.Bustier is pretty mad about you being late,”
Marinette sighs. “That’s a relief,”
“But you still missed a lot of news~,” Alya says, singing the last word.
Alya aspires to be a journalist, so on the occasions that Marinette wasn’t late, Alya would give her anything and everything interesting she’d dug up that week.
"I know, I know," Marinette sighs, fingers loosely picking at her shirt again. The seams stay intact, but Marinette's mind doesn't. The coffee spill and the glass breaking is constantly on her mind; she's not sure what to do.
"Nice shirt, girl," Alya smiles, breaking Marinette away from her thoughts. Alya's good at that, and she notices when Marinette lets her mind wander, something that happens a little too often for her tastes. "Did you make it?"
Marinette bursts into a grin. "Yes! I used that gorgeous thread that Sabine bought last week for my birthday, you know, the one I kept talking about, and it was absolutely amazing! I had to make this! What do you think? Do you like it?"
The shirt is simple; a white base with flowers of varying sizes lining the edge. Marinette pairs it with her old, pink jeans (the fabric for the flowers on her shirt came from some leftover ones she had when making the jeans) and a dark-gray blazer that Lila used to own.
"It's beautiful," Alya smiles, "But hey, I’m more excited for you-know-who’s reaction,"
Marinette rolls her eyes, hiding her face as an involuntary blush rises to her face. "Alya! You know I don't like him like that!,"
Alya grins. "Just teasing,"
“Well, anyways, tell me what I missed during lunch, I’m off to the classroom, before Ms. Bustier comes looking for me,” Marinette smiles, turning and running up the stairs.
“Good luck, girl!” Alya says, waving goodbye and pulling out her phone.
“Good luck, girl!” Alya says, waving goodbye and pulling out her phone.
Tumblr media
The day passes quickly, and lunch comes sooner than Marinette expects.
She meets Alya outside of Francois Dupont, and they both head to Ville de Soirée, a cafe which isn’t nearly as expensive as the others in the area. They both order their usuals, and sit in one of the booths as they wait for their drinks.
Marinette sighs and leans back. “Ok, ok, tell me,”
Alya, who is most probably on the verge of exploding from her excitement, gears up. “Ok, so you know Nino, right?”
“You mean the boy you’ve been obsessing over since we met him?” Marinette teases. “Oh hey, I might have an inkling,”
Alya blushes, her cheeks tinting rouge. “Shut up,”
Marinette giggles. “Ok, go on,”
“Anyway, Nino texted me yesterday that his parents finally agreed, and he’ll be starting school starting Monday next week!”
“Ah! That’s so exciting! I’m so happy for you!” Marinette laughs. “Now you can actually make a move!”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, I’ll let you play matchmaker when the time comes,” Alya laughs, “there’s also something else, and this one I know you’ll be even happier about,”
The barista interrupts Alya, placing two steaming drinks in front of them. They both reach for their drinks, with Marinette holding the cup in her hand and Alya taking a sip. She grins.
“Nino’s friend, you know, Adrien Agreste, is also coming too,”
She pulls back, looking smug as she tries to read Marinette’s face.
The girl in question sighs, shaking her head. “Who even is Adrien, and why does everyone keep mentioning him to me?”
Alya facepalms, groaning.
“Girl, sometimes I swear you live under a rock,” Alya sighs, shaking her head. “How do you not know who Adrien Agreste is? His ads are literally everywhere!”
Marinette pouts. “Well maybe I just haven’t seen him,”
Alya rolls her eyes and shakes her head. “Ohh no, there’s no way you’ve missed him ,”
She pulls up her phone and momentarily scrolls as Marinette waits.
“Here,” she says, “That’s him,”
The photo on Alya’s screen is from last February, Marinette recognizes. She remembers how Lila bought a copy of the magazine it came in, although she wasn’t allowed to see it.
But the boy is familiar. His face is similar to someone’s, but Marinette can’t pinpoint who it—
Oh.
Oh.
He’s Gabriel Agreste’s son.
Marinette leans back.
“That’s Monsieur Agreste’s son! I should’ve known, how could I have missed it when Madame Rossi told us about him?”
Alya squints her eyes. “Wait what?”
“There’s a fashion show that Adrien’s dad is hosting, and the embassy’s holding a huge event to greet all the fashion officials that are coming. Madame Rossi got us all passes to go,” Marinette says.
“That’s the one my mom’s cooking for! It’s next weekend right? She would not stop talking about it all weekend. I can try and score a pass, to you know, keep you company?”
Marinette gasps suddenly, burying her face in her hands, “Ah! I forgot! I won’t be able to go, since Li— I mean I, spilled coffee all over our new carpet,”
Alya raises an eyebrow.
“Fine, fine, I cracked some glass too,” Marinette sighs, face growing redder. “Madame Rossi’s gonna ground me for sure!”
Alya shakes her head. “Somehow I can believe it. You are the clumsiest person I know,”
She nods thoughtfully, fingers closing around the fox necklace on her neck. “Well I can’t deal with the whole glass situation, but maybe I can help with the coffee stuff? Happens to my mom all the time,”
Marinette perks up. “Really? Would you? Oh thank you Alya!”
Alya laughs. “No problem girl, I’ll come by after your shift at the bakery,”
Marinette pauses. After work would be...when Lila comes home.
Alya has always been a fan of Lila, but despite knowing Marinette, she’s only admired Marinette’s less-than-wonderful sister from afar. This means that so far, Marinette has managed to keep Alya and Lila separate.
Does she really want to risk that?
Weighing in the situation, she sighs. Would she rather have a shot at attending a potentially life-changing event, or safely escape Alya meeting Lila?
Knowing the both of them, Marinette remembers, they’d be a deadly combo.
But Marinette really wants to go to the event so, maybe this time, she might just give in.
“Great!” Marinette says, happiness laced with fear. “That’s...great!
Alya nods, smiling, watching as Marinette giggles.
“Now about setting you up with Nino…”
Alya turns away, blushing, “Marinette!”

Today
Lie-la 😒: sup loser
Lie-la 😒: im going to the mall with my friends after school
Lie-la 😒: if my mom comes in early
Lie-la 😒: you know what to say
Lie-la 😒: type, maribrat. use those lousy fingers.
You: yea, sure lila.
Lie-la 😒: good.
Marinette sighs and pockets her phone. For today, she is safe.
And that’s all she has ever wanted.
Tumblr media
Marinette’s day ends with her feeling happier than when it began. Alya’s coming over to wash out the coffee stain, Lila won’t be there when she gets home, and she’s heading to her shift at the bakery!
It’s normal for work to not be exciting to most people, but for Marinette, it always is. Heading to the Dupain-Cheng bakery is always the highlight of her day, and working there is even better. The owners, Sabine and Tom, are like the parents she never had, what with them spoiling her with all the food they give and teaching her how to bake. Customers even tell Marinette all the time that she looks strikingly similar to Sabine, but she doesn’t see it.
In truth, she’s only ever even thought about becoming a designer because of the Dupain-Chengs, and if it weren’t for their motivation, she’s sure that she would be in a much different place right now.
But that’s not what Marinette worries about right now. Despite school ending early and the bakery being right across the street from where she is, she still manages to be late.
She exchanges a quick goodbye with Alya, who chuckles at her frazzled state, and dashes off towards work.
“I’m here!” she shouts, running into the bakery, the familiar jingle of the store’s door’s bell ringing in her ears. “Sorry!
Sabine laughs as she hands a box of pastries to a customer, waving as they leave. “Just on time. Hello Marinette,”
Marinette winces as Sabine holds out her apron. “Sorry again, Sabine!”
Tom laughs from the kitchen behind the store, the sound booming through the bakery. “Marinette!”
“Tom!” Marinette says back, her lips curving into a smile.
Sabine eyes Marinette as she ties the apron behind her, quickly joining the older woman behind the counter.
“So?” she asks. “What’s new with you?”
Marinette sighs. “Not much, not much...oh! Madame Rossi has an embassy gathering to welcome a couple of famous people into France. And not just any people, people who work in the fashion industry!”
Sabine nods, smiling at Marinette’s delight. “And why exactly are these people coming?”
“It’s for the Gabriel event. I don’t know when it is, but apparently Gabriel Agreste is holding a huge gala, something about searching for a fashion assistant?,”
Sabine perks up at fashion assistant. “Marinette, you should enter!”
Marinette gasps. “I couldn’t! There’s no way! I mean, my designs are barely adequate, let alone Agreste worthy!”
Sabine shakes her head. “Everyone knows that isn’t true. Don’t put yourself down like that!”
Marinette blushes. “Thanks Sabine,”
The woman smiles. “Well, anyways, are you allowed to go to the embassy event? It’s a great opportunity, you wouldn’t want to miss it,”
“I mean, Madame Rossi did invite me and Lila, but Lila spilled a bunch of coffee on the carpet, and cracked the dining table this morning. It’s all a stunt, she did it on purpose. She’s blaming it on me, which means I’ll get grounded, and I won’t be able to go, and you know there’s nothing I can do about that,”
Sabine sighs, placing a hand on Marinette’s shoulder. “Oh dear. The next time I see Lila, I’ll tell Tom to get that girl and her mother arrested!”
Marinette laughs. “As much as I’d like that, where would I live?”
The rumble of the oven from behind the store dies down, and Tom walks into the main room. The room seems friendlier all at once, his large personality filling the space.
“Here, with us,” he declares proudly. “You’re like a daughter already,”
Marinette giggles, her cheeks growing red. “Alright guys, we’ll see,”
Sabine and Tom laugh as Marinette runs away to help a customer. Their afternoons with Marinette pass by quickly, and while they wish it was longer, you know what they say: time flies when you're having fun.

By the time Marinette gets off her shift, it’s 5:30 in the evening. Paris’s sky starts to fade from its normal cotton-candy blue to a marmalade orange. The hustle and bustle of the busy streets start to die down, and once she texts her address to Alya, Marinette makes her way to the bus stop.
While her time in the bakery is her favorite time of day, her time on the bus doesn’t prove to be too bad either. She likes the quiet silence, and enjoys her time away from the world around her.
The bus is probably her favorite mode of transportation (but her only one as well). When she volunteered to work at the bakery after school, Madame Rossi decided that ‘the streets were too dark at night for Marinette to walk alone’, and she was given a bus pass.
It was a small and random act of kindness that Marinette wouldn’t ever get again. It was also the only gift she ever got from her adopted mother, and despite not being too fond of Madame Rossi, she did treasure the gift.
Madame Rossi paid for her bus rides until Marinette was actually hired at the bakery. It was then that she decided to have Marinette pay her own bills, an action that most certainly helped Marinette for the future.
The sound of tires skidding against the pathway jolts Marinette out of her thoughts. She turns to see her normal bus waiting in front of her, and grabbing her bus pas, waits in line behind a couple others to get on.
That is, until she sees what’s about to happen.
Marinette watches as a man across the street tries to cross. He’s old, as his grayed hair and aged face tells, but his most identifiable quality is the red Hawaiian shirt he wears, embossed with a white hibiscus floral pattern.
Besides that, there’s also a car coming straight for him, and though it’s a little while away, there’s no doubt that he’ll get hit.
Marinette does the only thing she can think of. She runs.
The street is narrow, and Marinette manages to pull the man across the pathway before the car comes. She huffs, turning to the man to smile.
He has an odd look in his eyes, lips curved into a mysterious smile as Marinette quirks her eyebrow.
“Thank you, young lady,” he nods.
“You’re welcome!” she smiles, turning to look at the bus, which has started leaving. “Goodbye and stay safe, sir!”
The old man watches as Marinette just manages to catch the bus, stopping it and shouldering her backpack as she climbs on.
Marinette seats herself as the bus starts once more, and turns to her window to look for the old man.
But by the time she does, he’s gone.

Alya gets to Marinette's house at just the right time. When she reaches, Marinette has done a couple of her chores, cleaned up the living room, and put out the carpet in the first floor bathroom. Against the white rug, the coffee stain is obvious, and Marinette sighs as she inspects it.
How were they ever going to get it out?
There’s a knock at the front door, and Marinette knows it’s Alya. Smiling, the girl heads to the living room to open it.
Alya gasps as she sees the house. From the marble kitchen to the hickory-brown wood flooring, everything is pristine and clean, as if the Rossis live in a mansion.
(They don’t, but the house is still fairly big. Marinette sometimes has to clean it all as part of her chores, but luckily that hasn’t happened in a while.)
“Dang girl,” Alya sighs, “you rich or what?”
Marinette nervously laughs, cracking her knuckles. “Uh, I don’t know,”
“I’m joking,” Alya smiles. “But, random thing, where’s Lila?”
“She’s out. Doctor’s appointment for her, um, wrist,”
“Aw, that’s too bad. Tell her I said get better soon!”
Marinette sighs. She doesn’t like lying, but it’s far better than what would happen if she told the truth.
“Yea. Anyway, how are you getting the stain out? I tried all morning, but it was stuck,”
“Just watch me, girl,” Alya smirks. “Before we start though, you already blotted the stain, right?”
Marinette furrows her eyebrows. “Blotted? What do you mean?”
Alya demonstrates with her hands. “Like, did you take a paper towel and try to get as much of the stain out as you could?”
Marinette nods. “Yeah, that’s why I was late this morning,”
Alya nods. “Ok, so now we just have to make the cleaner,”
Marinette raises an eyebrow. “Make? This is getting a little crazy,”
“It’s really not,” Alya laughs, “I’ve done this a thousand times before. My sisters knock over my dad’s coffee way too much,”
Marinette laughs. “Alright then, show me what to do,”
Alya makes her way to the kitchen, filing through multiple cabinets. “Where’s your dish soap?”
“Bottom-left drawer next to the sink,” Marinette points.
“And your white vinegar?”
“Fridge. Anything else you need?”
“Just water,” Alya replies. “Warm, that is. And two cups of it,”
Marinette nods. “Got it,”
Alya takes out a steel bowl from one of the cabinets. “And can I use this?”
Marinette nods again. “Go ahead,”
“Great,” Alya says, pouring a spoon of dish soap followed by a spoon of vinegar. She waits for Marinette to get the water before adding that in as well, and then mixing. “That should do,”
“Work your magic then,” Marinette laughs.
“Just watch and see girl, I totally will,”
Alya finds a cleaning rag from a drawer in the island, and she runs over to the carpet. “Grab yourself a rag, Marinette, and let’s get started!”
Marinette laughs, and runs over to help. The time passes quickly, and by the time the coffee stain is gone and the carpet is dry, two hours have gone by. Their hands are sore and their legs are tired, but both can say that they had fun.
In the midst of it, Marinette almost doesn’t notice when Lila texts her.
Today

Lie-La 😒: open the back door
Lie-la 😒: im right by my house
Almost.
“Alya!” Marinette gasps, both sitting on the couch after the carpet was rolled back underneath the dining table. “It’s so late, don’t you have to go at 7?”
Alya tilts her head, confused. “No?”
“Oh well then I must have said it,” Marinette laughs nervously. “Yes that’s right! I’ve got work, haha. Bye!”
Marinette practically pushes Alya to the front door, while Alya looks lost and puzzled.
“Didn’t you already have work?” Alya asks.
“Yep, but gotta save up for uni right? Haha. Haha,”
Alya nods, squinting her eyes as she walks out the door.
“Um, bye? See you at school, girl,” Alya nods, quietly laughing.
“Bye!” Marinette smiles. Once Alya is farther away and out of sight, Marinette runs to open the back door. She can faintly hear the sounds of Lila’s friend’s car pulling into the driveway, so she dashes back upstairs as fast as she can. The last thing she wants to do is talk to Lila, much less be alone in a room with her.
She hopes that Lila won’t try anything while she’s in her room.
Sighing, she smiles when she stops at the attic door, and heads inside.
Before Madame Rossi found her and decided to take her in (how she came to that conclusion, Marinette would never know), the attic was all set to be Lila’s playroom. The entire room was painted pink from head to toe (even the carpet was a light shade of pink). There was a wooden wardrobe for all of Lila’s toys, and a desk with markers, painting supplies, and coloring pencils galore.
But then Marinette came along.
For one reason or another, she was given the attic as her own room. Out went the ideas of toys and tents in the room, and in came Marinette.
Madame Rossi didn’t give her anything. From the age of 2 till the age of 4, she slept on the ground, the lack of a bed present to her each night.
Until Lila outgrew her bed of course, which was then given to Marinette.
It was simple. Since Marinette was smaller than Lila, and slower at growing, she was often given Lila’s old things. All the clothes that Lila didn’t want, Marinette had. From her bed to the old beanbag in her room (one of the only things Lila gave her as decoration) everything was a hand me down from Lila herself.
Marinette sighs, and then flops into the bed. She’s lucky that Lila doesn’t bother if Marinette doesn’t get on her nerves.
Hopefully, until she can get out of this place, she’ll manage without angering Lila too much.
Standing up, Marinette locks herself in the attic, a faint click of the door behind her, and gets out her phone. Opening up Spotify, she starts her playlist, and goes over to the desk.
For the next hour, she does homework and finishes a project, all while sketching out designs for new dresses.
And hey, if she’s lucky, she might just be able to make one for the gala.
Marinette shuffles through her desk drawers, pop music playing through her earbuds. It’s nearly 8 PM and she’s searching for the special gold thread she had bought a couple weeks ago. It cost nearly a month's pay, and she’s been saving it for a special occasion.
With the dress she was sketching, she wanted to know if it was now.
She’s still searching through the drawers on the left side of the desk when she finds a box.
One that she feels might not have been there before.
(Then again, she rarely looks through all her drawers, so there’s always a chance that it could’ve been.)
Marinette feels confused. The box is made of a dark brown wood, and shaped like an octagon. The top of the box is embossed with a red design. Glimmering red circles meet wavy, thin lines, but Marinette is preoccupied with figuring out what the box is for.
In the end, she decides to open it. There can’t be much inside, can there?
Turns out, Marinette is wrong.
The moment she opens it is a frightful one. In that second, there’s a bright flash of light. It swirls around her as Marinette gasps, dropping the box onto the carpet as two solid-black earrings fall out.
That’s not the amazing part of it all though. After a second, Marinette comes face to face with a spotted red creature.
Needless to say, she screams.
“Hi Marinette!” the spotted creature says. “My name is Tikki! It’s nice to meet you!”
“Mouse!” Marinette hollers, “Bug! Bug-mouse! Talking bug mouse!”
Marinette scooches back, her hand grabbing books and papers off her desk as she throws them at Tikki.
“I’m here to help!” Tikki says, dodging the objects. “I’m here to help you!”
“Liar!” Marinette calls, searching for more things to throw. “This must be Lila’s version of a joke ! I can’t believe her!”
She takes her water-bottle from her backpack, and quickly moves to trap Tikki in it.
“It’s ok Marinette, I won’t hurt you,” Tikki smiles. “But if this makes you feel better, then this is ok!”
There’s a pause, and then Marinette sighs and chooses not to answer, leaning back, and quickly grabbing her school tablet off her desk. She points it at Tikki, trying her best to look intimidating.
“Who are you?” Marinette asks, “and what do you want?”
“Like I said, my name’s Tikki! I’m a kwami!” the tiny bug says, (still trapped in the bottle but floating in midair, Marinette notes) “And I want to help you!”
Marinette sighs, lowering her weapon tablet. “Did Lila send you somehow?”
Tikki furrows her forehead in place of her eyebrows. “No? Who’s Lila?”
Marinette bitterly chuckles, standing and throwing her arms into the air. “This. This. This is why you can’t help me. No one can. Anyone who meets Lila thinks she’s an ‘absolute angel’, and no one else knows her. How is someone supposed to help me if no one knows that my problem exists?!”
“Marinette,” Tikki sighs, “I promise you, I can help, if you’ll listen to me. Please let me explain, and then you can decide if you want to trust me or not, ok?”
Marinette pauses, considering the situation, and sits a fair distance away from Tikki, keeping her tablet in her hands.
“Ok,” she responds, facing the little bug. “But you have 5 minutes,”
Tikki smiles again. "And that's all I need,"

On the bad days, when Adrien feels so overwhelmed and helpless and he hates himself and for what he is, Marinette is always there to catch him.
On a particularly bad day, all Adrien can do is fall to his knees and cry and hold onto Marinette like a lifeline, as if she was the only thing anchoring him to reality and keeping his sanity in check.
He would hate himself for not being better, not being good enough, not deserving of anything Marinette gives him, all her love and affection, her time and patience. Anything.
He deserved none of it.
And Marinette would kiss his tears away and smooth back his hair and say: "Did you ever notice how you love me?"
Adrien is confused, his head is pounding from crying, he doesn't know what she means.
So, Marinette shows him.
She shows him the little bulletin board he set up in the living room, with both his and her own schedules, important dates to remember or little day-to-day reminders.
"I'm often so forgetful when I have an ongoing project and that's the only thing I see for the next few weeks, I tended to forget to grab things for work, but you always post these reminders so I don't forget anything important."
Marinette moves to the kitchen, she opens the fridge. "You always pack me lunch and breakfast if I forget to eat in the morning. I never go hungry anymore at work thanks to your lunch boxes." She smiled so brilliantly, Adrien could've mistook her for the sun. "You learned to cook so many dishes, to balance me out, all I can do is bake, but you can cook better than Alya's mom."
Adrien felt giddiness fill his chest, a soothing warmth that always swelled up whenever Marinette complimented him.
Marinette walked over to Adrien and fell on her knees beside him, cradling his face like it was the most precious porcelain in the world. "You do chores a lot more than me, while I take naps during the day you make sure the house is clean and wash my clothes, you make sure to air out my work room so it isn't stuffy. You massage my feet and hands when I'm exhausted from work or bandage my fingers if I pick myself with the needles. You model my designs for me even after you had a long day at work and want nothing more than to sleep. You immediately go to the store if I crave something we don't have in the kitchen." Marinette's thumb brushed across her husband's cheek tenderly, wiping away the remainders of tears.
She kissed his forehead sweetly and Adrien sniffled, overwhelmed with emotion. "Whenever you do all these things for me, you never look tired at all. So let me do things for you too kitty, let me be there for you as you are to me. Let me love you like you love me too."
Fresh tears filled Adrien's eyes and he hugged his wife again, this time not out of his own self-loathing but his overwhelming love for her that threatened to consume him.

AU where Marinette and Adrien remember bits and pieces from Tikki and Plagg's memories about their lives and the past holders.
The problem is they can't place the memories and don't know if they happened in the past or present.
So, one day Ladybug asks Chat Noir:"...Did you accidentally cataclysm a church after they wanted to burn me at the stake?"
Chat Noir: "...They what"

The Adventures of Super Nathan 4 - Chap 2
Chapter 2
https://archiveofourown.org/works/29003949/chapters/71391201
https://www.wattpad.com/1018609843-the-adventures-of-super-nathan-4-chapter-2
The class was now in the break playing with each other in small groups. Most of the parents stood together with other parents watching their children play and chatted along with each other.
Nathaniel hung out with Luka, Ivan, Kagami, Rose, and Jin on the stairs observing their offspring play tag with another. Ivan held out his smartphone in his hands to watch the kids thought it and took a few snapshots of them running and showed it to Nathaniel, which nodded.
„Who would have thought one day we would sit together years after we finish school and watch our own offsprings play with each other?“ Luka asked looking at the friend group, which nodded at Luka‘s comment.
„I wasn‘t for myself expecting it so early, but I gotta admit it gives me such a great feeling to see Elliot run there along with the others,“ Kagami stated watching Elliot crash against Rouven, which was laughing afterward Rouven began to haunt the blonde laughing along with him, making Kagami smile enchanted. „Adrien blessing me with this cute, little boy was the best thing he could have done,“ Kagami mentioned earning a nod from Ivan.
„Did you really have to give up your education to be able to be around Elliot?“ Ivan questioned looking at the Japanese woman, which shake her head.
„No, I was able to repeat the next semester on the other year. I just didn‘t want to be less present in Elliot‘s life as I would be along with Adrien gone at the uni. I left the university to be at home with him, later on, Gabriel opened for me a 70% workload to be working at the office along with him and Emilie,“
„At least it‘s something good,“ Ivan commented.
„How‘s is every one of you doing?“ Kagami questioned. „So far I only know about Lila and Nathaniel. What are you doing Rose?“
„I opened the hair salon along with Juleka, Jean, Aurore, and Marc,“ Rose mentioned. „We cut everyone‘s hair and Jean and Juleka also know how to barber. Every man can get for 7 bucks a new hair cut. Depending on what else we do it gets another price,“ Rose explained.
„What would Nath pay for his haircut?“ Luka asked placing his hand behind Nathaniel‘s head watching Nathaniel grab Luka‘s hand to pull it down.
„Hey, I like my hair the way it is,“ Complained the redhead making Luka snicker.
„Sure you do, babyface,“ Luka joked.
„Says the one who has the face shaved,“ Nathaniel countered making Luka grin.
„You know I just shave my face out of hygienic reasons, right?“ Luka commented making Ivan chuckle at their argument.
„Are you two really going to talk about shaving right now?“ Questioned the tall man.
„Don‘t worry Ivan, if Lila was here the conversation would have turned awkward in the next five seconds,“ Kagami mentioned making Ivan chuckle.
„She really would,“ Luka agreed making Nathaniel frown.
„Hey you two are talking about my wife,“ Nathaniel commented watching Luka slap his friend on the back.
„Don‘t worry, we‘re not meaning to offend,“ Luka assured, then his phone began to ring and he got up to attend the call and walk towards the exit.
„Do you still work in the retirement home, Nathaniel‘s dad is living?“ Rose questioned earning a nod from the raven-haired man.
„Yeah. I don‘t feel like anything has changed at all except for Cody growing up,“ Ivan mentioned.
„This year was tough for me and Nathalie. We were all on our own and we only managed to visit my mom every second week. Lila was the entire time out in Italy during the recording of the series. Lila‘s luck now was, that the role she got as a protagonist will mainly play in Paris and just the first season takes place in Italy. Soon she will be here and we‘ll be able to see her more often,“
„Wish I could see her today, but we‘re going to have dinner with my parents and we won‘t be able to come,“ Rose mentioned earning a nod from the redhead.
„It‘s okay you can visit us any other day,“ Nathaniel added making the blonde nod.
„I may bring her one of the coupons my frequent guests usually receive at Christmas. In case she wants to color her hair back,“
„I think she likes having black hair so far,“ Nathaniel mentioned. „But it‘s not a bad idea either,“
„Good,“ Rose agreed, then watched Nathaniel take out his smartphone as he heard it receiving a message and he opened it to see it was sent by Ivan, that showed his son along with Luka‘s running. Nathaniel gave a thumb up, then opened his gallery to send the previous picture he took during class to the chat Ivan was in along with 14 other students from his class. Ivan replied with a thumb up followed by Marinette beginning to type down a message.
„Aww my little Prince,“ Marinette commented with several hearts beside it.
Mrs. Donner passed across the court of the elementary school with a plateau with middle-sized and small cups of coffee and stopped by the adults on the stair to offer them a drink.
„Is anyone interested in a coffee or an espresso?“ Questioned the teacher earning a nod from all students, except for Nathaniel and the teacher bowed down at the adults so each of them could take a drink.
„Ivan remember the first time my friend Paulo offered Adrien a cigarette to smoke?“ Luka questioned earning a nod from the tall man.
„Oh yes I do,“ Ivan responded with a laughter. „Why did he want to do that again?“
„He said something about it would make him more manly,“ Luka mentioned. „Really?“ Nathaniel asked. „I would have never done that,“
„I understand you,“
„Hey what‘s the next lesson in the schedule?“ Ivan questioned. „Was it Math?“ The raven-haired man asked earning a nod from the teacher.
„Yes, it is. Don‘t worry. It‘s very simple for them,“ Mrs. Donner said watching Luka elbow Nathaniel on his arm.
„You‘ll be able to tell Nathalie the difference between a plus and a minus, right?“ Luka joked making Nathaniel frown.
„Are you kidding me?“ Questioned Nathaniel making Luka chuckle. „Of course I do,“
„That‘s great, but you don‘t need to worry about if anything isn‘t understandable for you to explain to your daughter when needed. The school is here to help her out, when she needs it,“ Mrs. Donner explained earning a nod from Nathaniel.
„Your group seems quite close I have noticed. Were you in the same class before?“ Questioned the woman earning a nod from Luka.
„Well I was a class ahead of them, but I knew Nathaniel and Ivan from the elementary school. Rose was my sister‘s childhood friend and they‘re together now and I‘m married to Marinette, who attended the same class as Nathaniel and Ivan,“
„Okay and I think I‘ve seen you in some magazines along with the former teeny model Adrien Agreste, right?“ Questioned the teacher earning a nod from the blue-haired woman. „I remember starting university and see your first image with him,“
„Oh yes….I think it was with our sponsors for the fencing tournament or a paparazzi shoot,“ Kagami mentioned. „I‘m not really fond of photoshoots so I‘m sort of lost in the ones I attended with him,“
„It‘s no issue. I will move further to the next parents. See you all in the classroom again,“
„Is anyone of you going to eat at home?“ Ivan questioned. „I‘m not sure if I can make it to cook something quick for Cody only,“
„My mom offered me to pass by her house for lunch with Rouven. If you want I can ask her if she could make space for you two,“ Luka offered. „Nathaniel, you‘re also interested?“ Questioned the raven-haired man his short friend.
„I was planning in stopping at the restaurant down the Louvre, but if you don‘t mind it, I could go with you,“ Responded the redhead.
„Great, I will just make the call,“ Luka stated getting up from the stairs to search his mother‘s phone number to call her.
„Has Adrien actually have a plan B, if he fails again at the exam?“ The blonde woman asked watching Kagami take a sip of her espresso.
„I didn‘t ask him anything about it, cause I don‘t want him to feel negative about it or that I think negatively about his performance later on the exams. I think after we know the results we can see later. Maybe he‘ll get luckier this time and we won‘t need a plan b,“
„Wee, when he passes this means he will once more be distant from all of you again. How are you able to deal with that?“ Questioned Rose.
„Well, we may get used to that. If there‘s something changing between all of us I ask Adrien if we can find out a solution to this. We will wait first,“
„Don‘t let Adrien miss all the memorable moments he can experience with Elliot throughout his life. How many men or even women miss the most important parts of their kids' life, just because they're hoping to provide them a better life?“
„Oh Rose don't‘ worry. I and Adrien are both in this. We promised each other to help each other out,“
„That is good. These coming years are going to be the best ones you‘ll have with him. Believe me,“ Rose spoke earning a nod from the blue-haired woman watching the playing kids.
Adrien sat in the bedroom in front of his desk gazing into the book he was using to study. Plagg, his kwami sat on top of a shelf over the desk, which contained various named files watching the blonde learn for the exam.
„Why didn‘t you go together with Elliot and Kagami to the first school day?“ Plagg questioned. „You would be only the morning there,“
„I need to focus on Friday, Plagg,“ Warned the blonde.
„I know you do, but you could have been present there like Kagami or at least for an hour or two,“
„I could, but I couldn‘t. I will make it up for him tonight anyway by watching that movie with him they didn‘t finish yesterday,“ Adrien mentioned picking up the smartphone, which lied at the edge of his table counting the amount of minutes he‘s been studying, which were at 135. „I‘m not sure when exactly we will watch it thought. I would prefer in the afternoon rather than after dinner,“
„Wouldn‘t you want it after dinner?“ Questioned Plagg. „You know so that he can straight off go to bed or get ready for it?“
„I don‘t know…..Well it could come the case that he has homework to do and I believe it‘s better for him to do them right after school. Or he should do it the way he feels is better for him. I used to hear from Kim or Ivan, that they had the need to do something after school before working on the homework first,“
„Eating first always is a good option,“ Commented the black kitten earning a nod from Adrien, which looked back at his smartphone as he heard it vibrate then pressed on the home button to lighten up the display and see a message from his wife, then he sighed.
„Oh damn it, the surprise party,“ Adrien commented leaning back on the seat picking up his phone to unlock it.
„Morning Adri. I forgot yesterday about the surprise party we were participating in going to. If you prefer to stay back to study, stay. I‘ll be going there to at least see Lila again. See you later,“
„I promised her to go a long while ago. I‘m not going to skip it,“
„What about the movie?“ Questioned the kwami.
„We‘ll see that later. I‘ll wait until they‘re back,“ Adrien stated beginning to text a message to Kagami. „I prefer to solve it with her, rather than randomly agreeing or disagreeing on it,“
„Sounds quite better than the last few times,“
„That‘s why I chose this way. I‘m lately being so absent that soon or later I will end up being like my dad or worse“
„What your dad was in the past was worse. You‘re just something else…..something that comes before bad,“
„There‘s nothing before bad. I‘m either bad or worse,“
„Okay I know something else. You‘re not perfect and that‘s normal. You‘ll never be perfect, you will just learn how to deal with it. This is a good start, you prefer to discuss with Kagami the issue about Elliot and Lila‘s surprise party you agreed on going months ago. Just talk you two about it and it will get solved in a way or another. Which way you‘ll both agree on remains unknown for now,“
„Sure, I‘ll do it, don‘t worry. Here I need to focus now on the learning,“ Mentioned the blonde shoving the smartphone back to the end of the table, followed by the kwami to sit down on its cover with a piece of cheese on his hands to observe the holder continue his practice for the exam.

Things I need to say about Marinette and Chloe evolutions
You know? Something I can't understand with Marinette being responsible with more akumatized people instead Chloe, is that Mari doesn't have reasons to act in certain ways and hurt people's feelings
I need to say that I really can empathize with Chloe´s attitude, like, come on, she is the daughter of two people that really doesn't care about her at all, and as a result, she have a bad attitud. Being who she is now is the result of a life devoid of love and parental care.
Her dad is the Paris mayor, who is just to afraid of his wife that he can't even talk freely with she; and in consecuence is just too dependant of everyone's opinion, and uncapable to be strict about Chloe's attitude, trying to make her happy doing watever she wants, but not paying attention about Chloe's really feelings.
Chloe's mother, in the other hand, god~!, I can't stand her being so cold with her...She's a diva, and doesn't care at all about her family. Yes, your an important person in the model industry, but can't you at least call your daughter one time at day!?, say "hello" or "love you my little child" is not going to kill anyone!
Dude, she just want that her parents paying attention and love her!
For me is not a surprise Chloe's being rude, superficial and the other things they say she is. But lets remember how many times Chloe do things for others, like in DouDou Villian chapter, yes, she did something wrong, and Adrien made her an ultimatum, so, in order to protect her friendship with Adrien, she tries to make the right thing, and her butler helps her too. Is in this chapter when we can see why is what it is. The only persons who stay with Chloe was Sabrina (she's and angel~!) and her Butler, and Adrien, of course.
Chloe could being an amazing girl, she have a good heart, and not always, but try to do good things in her own way, cause it is the only way she know actually.
We see in her IG account that she gift some things to Sabrina, that is a good daughter who only wants her parents stay together and with her, that she can be an incredible super heroine, that learn from her mistakes, and, in fact, she's the first (what I remember) to resist an amukatization~! she didn't fall for the trap and words of Mayura, in that same chapter even accept in a quite mature way the fact that she probably won't be chosen again to be Queen Bee~!; and save Ladybug and Chat noir in multiple occasions.
Having said that, I still can't understand why, if Chloe is more "a bad selfish girl", Marinette is who causes more damage to others?
Nothing against Mari, I swear!, But...I...I don't get it...
Marinette dupaing Cheng, a future model designer who's already catched the attention of two of the most important persons in the indrustry (Audrey Bourgeois aka "The Queen" and Gabriel Agreste aka our favorite super villian Hawk Moth), she's pretty, cute, thin, talented in, like.. idk, everything?, she can cook, make bakery, desing (Jagget Stone CD cover was made by her, like, wtf~? Please don't stole the job to others, idk), play videogames like a pro, good student, good daughter, her parents love and protect her, they have an incredible relation, it is good in fencing, skating, make crafts, taking care of childs (more or less), dance, etc etc etc~
But this has not been an impediment to seeing her behave in the most selfish or crazy ways:
-she's Adrien's stalker No.1 (dude, you have problems... :/)
-she has tried to push away any girl who has an interest in Adrien, regardless of whether she humiliates (Lila) or hurts (Kagami) their feelings
-she has left his best friend so many times that Alya already doesn't seem to care much about what she does or where she is now
-teases without hesitation of his teammate(Chat Noir), and lie "in order to protect his identity" playing with Chat feelings, turning him into the bad boy who broke her heart to the point that she even puts him in a mess with her father, causing (again) an akumatization
[And, the reason to made this (sorry...)]
-Even after Luka revealed his feelings sincerely without expecting anything in return, she decides not only to ignore it (that's ok, you don't have to return anyone's feelings if you don't feel the same) , but to take a great opportunity for his friend to work alongside his greatest idol, not one but twice (Mari plz..)
So..Unfortunately. That means that doesn't care how much love you receive, or how lucky you are for have all you have (not talking about money or something like that), you can be incredible insensitive or selfish but still pretent you not...
With all my heart I hope that Marinette's Character evolve soon, because, even if the chapters have been revealed in a disastrously messy way, each has shown a worse facet of its protagonist, please come back to the wonderful and sweet girl that was once :c
[act]
I'm not saying Mari needs to be the perfect girl who doesn't made mistakes, that's ok, being a teenager means to learn and explore. But I realized that most of the akumatizations and misunderstandings (even most that Chloe) was Mari's fault, and in consequence, she needs to be Ladybug and save the day...
¿It is truly a super heroine who protects her city from evil forces, or is just Marinette making mistakes (become bigger) and just because she have (in a very convenient way) superpowers is capable to solve it?
Sorry, I'm salty again...
