maybe i'm a ~weirdo~ but i'm currently fixated on Brian and Jark and pregnant Tim SFW-ly;

i feel like Jark would unintentionally fall for all the old wives' tales (anxiety and general paranoia after all they've been through), so i can see them fretting every time Tim tries to reach for something that's above his head because Jark is sure that the baby'll snare themself in their cord and other goofy stuff like that haha <3 they'd be such a helicopter partner during Tim's pregnancies, they'd always have to dissect the ingredients in everything he eats to make sure nothing in it is harmful to pregnant folk. i can see Tim getting mildly annoyed by it, but at the end of the day he shrugs it off because he knows Jark loves both him and bubba and wants them both to be okay <3

meanwhile, my most prominent image of Brian is him doing wheelies through every opportunity to feel Tim's belly or kiss on it, because in his wheelchair, he's at PERFECT baby-belly-kissing height! you REALLY expect him to keep his hands to himself or not put his face on Tim's belly to feel the baby kick him in the face when they're literally RIGHT THERE? at EYE LEVEL with him?? and Tim just waddles away as fast as he can saying 'get away from me (playfully)' with Brian chasing him in his wheelchair, laughing his ass off. bonus points, as soon as he gets Tim cornered and get his hands/face/lips on his belly, you KNOW the baby's gonna be moving like crazy from Tim jostling them around, so Brian basically gets an even bigger reward lol :)

and in the Jark Lives AU, Jark is just constantly scolding Brian for winding Tim up because 'stress is bad for the baby' (again, anxiety) lmao.

Jark would 100% be overprotective and worried constantly about all the old wives tales and little things, they've been right next to Tim through a lot and have almost lost him so many times, of course they're gonna be over worried (they're also an only child which will make sense why I'm mentioning in a bit) about Tim doing anything at all that could possibly harm him or the baby. They can't lose him, not again (in a Jark lives AU they meet up with Brian again way earlier au, Tim and Jay would still fall out and go to Benedict hall alone, Alex would shoot Jay, but it wouldn't be fatal, and Tim would find him still alive, and the two of them would have time to go back to Brian so Tim has them both in one place when he calls for an ambulance. Jay 'lost' Tim in that argument, and yes it was only for a very short while, but it still fucked him up really back with how his obsession with Tim was going) So they're super hovery and helicoptery as a partner with him. They would be a helicopter parent once Birdie is born, too.

Brian on the other hand is sooooo laid back. He's like, the upper middle kid out of like 8-10 or something, he knows a lot about pregnancy, he saw his mum pregnant many times, so it doesn't worry him anymore. She knew a lot about pregnancy by the time he was born, so she was never worried about it, which meant no one in her house was ever worried about it. It was just "oh mums having a baby again, cool" and that's about that. So with Tim, he's supportive when Tim needs it, but he's not overbearing or overprotective. He looks after Tim just right, teaches him about pregnancy (specifically the bits that aren't talked about as much) and he's just all round the level head in the house, y'know? He's the one who stops Jark from making Tim get worried over nothing, he dispels the old wives tales and makes sure Tim has everything he needs, y'know?

If Tim's craving something, Brian sends Jark out to get it, partly to get them out of the house for a bit so he and Tim can de-stress a bit from Jark's over-cautiousness etc (Jark doesn't wanna go out unless they're doing something for Tim, or Tim's with them) and partly to give them something to do so they feel useful. Cos that'd be another reason for Jark's helicopter-partner-ness, they need to feel like they're doing something because sometimes seeing Tim being the one who gets to carry their baby does make them a bit dysphoric, so they distract themself with housework and looking after Tim, y'know? (Talked more about that in this post) Tim definitely appreciates those moments where it's just him and Brian. He loves Jark. He adores them, so much, and he wouldn't change them for the world, but sometimes their worry gets a bit much, y'know?

Brian being perfectly baby bump height is so perfect, too tho, like omg. He'd love it, he'd love that he's the perfect height to give Tim a hug and rest his ear on his belly. It's like his favourite thing to do. Tim 100% runs away from him sometimes, just because he finds it hilarious watching the look of (sliiiiiightly over dramatised) heartbreak on Brian's face before he gives chase and corners Tim somewhere so he can kiss and cuddle him forever. Jark 100% gets all scold-y about it and Brian just yanks them in too like "shut up and give the baby a cuddle too you worrywart" y'know?

I don't really have canon ship cause I don't really like to see full on romance in the media I consume 🫣. I actually only actively engage with the romance genre in fanfics or fandom. I like to watch people I ship interact and for them to have deep ties to each other but I have no interest in actually seeing them become canon. I mainly like ships because I think they have a really fun or interesting dynamic.

as for my favorite media across board thats a little tricky caus eI have a hard time conflating things like that and so I'm just gonna give my top 2 in the categories you listed.

Books:

Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - It's just a great look into what it means to be middle-class Nigerian in a time of great country-wide and personal upheaval and it's such an interesting look at christianity in Nigeria and out a lot of things I didn't even realize I was feeling into words. It also has one of my favorite mentor characters of all time so yeah. I seriously recommend to anybody. It deals with a lot of heavy stuff so keep that in mind tho.

Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe - This was the book that got me into reading and so therefore will always hold a special place in my heart, because reading; books and fanfiction is such a huge part of my life it's hard to imagine who I'd be without it. I recommend to anyone whos interested in learning about one of the main cultures in Nigeria, Igbo its fascinating and tragic.

Anime/Manga:

Mob Psycho 100 - My feeling on Mob Psycho are best explained in this post. But long story short I love it so much.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood - God what's not to love? This has some of the best written female characters I have seen in any piece of media period not to talk of shonen anime. It's just so good and I'd seriously recommend.

TV Show:

Reservation dogs - I love this show so much and would stake my life on it. As someone aspiring to be a filmmaker this is the kind of stuff I pray to make. It's soooo good and it's technically a comedy but it's not held back by genre. The cast is great the show is great I recommend watching

Breaking bad - Every single good thing you've ever heard about breaking bad is true. I truly understand why this show is regarded as one of the best of all time.

Movie:

Into the Spiderverse - It makes me want to believe in something bigger than myself. You do truly leave feeling like you could be spiderman and no superhero movie has ever made me feel that way. Also, I love animation and this is about as animation as it gets.

Everything Everywhere All At Once - Hands down the best multiverse movie to ever exist and I don't care. Amazing

Bonus: Your Name - My favorite anime film. The twist literally blew my mind. Its so warm and cozy and fun, and then shit really goes down.

As for music I generally will listen to anything as long as I like it but I gravitate to Folk music and my favorite artist is Hozier.

As for One Piece it's actually not one of my favorite animes. It's definitely my favorite of the big three and classic shonen but yeah. It has and will always have a really special place in my heart cause it was my introduction to anything anime or manga. But yeah I don't keep up with it in what anyone could call a normal way. I just have a little to many problems with how the female characters are treated to really consistently keep up with it. It's kinda better now with Bonny but yeah. I appreciate the story and as anyone on my blog can tell I love the characters. but yeah, ironically, not one of my favorites. Will forever be in my heart though.

Gonna say the bad things first.

Loved the beggining all the way to the 'support' group scene where Dracula kills them.

But everything after that? well- I don't get how they could make a mafia boring. Like dont get me wrong but they started so strong introducing the key players but it felt as if there was a moment that all three characters, the mafia, protagonists and dracula just floated or disapeared for a moment then came back in the climax.

Other than that tho-

Good does this movie have me in a chockhold, it was funny right amount of gorey that I could sit through AND it was a vampire movie.

I am a SLUT for vampire movies also I've noticed that they loved to use blue and orange lighting? I mean the fact that it happened twice-

Oh and remaking the old Classic dracula and inserting nick cage in those scenes? They were a delight to watch.

Also the queer subtext in the movie I mean they didn't have to add it but they did. I see it this way [others can disagree] but on one hand seeing dracula actual crying when he was betrayed and called him his Servant! And when you see the support group being a part of the church. In my mind I was thinking huh you could see this as some sort of faux positive conversion therapy. Like everyone is smily colourful and happy while going "Being gay is a sin!"

But even so given that is was about narcissism even tho I ship it and plan to overindulge on fanfictions I do love that that narrative is that no matter what you've done it doesn't mean you dont deserve to be loved and should withstand abuse.

Thats why I always thought harley quinn was such an important role model and why you need to see her in a relationship with the joker and to see it being lovey dovey and a good couple as well as seeing the bad to undertsant how people go in those relationships in the first place. And most victims BELIEVE they deserve it in some way or that its their fault.

So overall really love the film, And even though there were parts that were meh [I'll blame the medium that its a parody and just ignore it] there were defiently some moments that more than made up for it.

anyway, if i recall correctly, you wanted an idea for Meryl × Vash × Wolfwood ship-name (that was idiosyncratic; as opposed to the Mashwood ship-name that is Portmanteau), and ive been wrestling with sharing mine for a while bc its a ship-name ive been using for my un-posted OC × those three, but it can be repurposed for your needs too. i should add that, for poly ships, i personally like to incorporate the number of people involved in the name. but the number 3 (as opposed to the original: 4) works in the ship-name i have. you can also ditch the number, if you want, im not your boss. or you can ditch this whole ship-name if you dont like it

but for Meryl × Vash × Wolfwood (× my OC) ive been using (DE4LOWERED) D3FLOWERED, or i guess just DEFLOWERED if you prefer no numbers

first i want to say i am sorry for getting back to this so late! i have been very busy recently!!

it absolutely was me who was looking for idiosyncratic ship names!! i was from the age of fandom (or maybe the particular fandom??) that had quite a lot of them! specifically young justice in the mid 2010s? we had spitfire, museum heist, chalant, i think red cat? we had a ton! and i feel like i saw it in other fandoms for a bit too but it slowly died off!

i just loved how clever they were! i think i also remember at one point people also were rather poetic about ot3 names? i think i remember someone who used to tag their rey, finn, and poe ot3 content with “ot3: mosaics are just broken pieces” and that stuck with me too.

but i LOVE that you’ve shared your own poly ship names with your OC and so generously offered them up for what we know as mashwood right now!! i love the inclusion of the number too!! i feel like back in the day, id tag it like this “ot3: d3flowered” WHICH IS FUN!

i tried thinking of one for them along the same lines of the “museum heist” ot3 which was robin x wally x artemis from young justice…..which if you shortened their names would get robwallart…which then became museum heist! because of the play on the words their name formed, which looked and sounded like “robbing wall art”

so i was kinda trying to play with mashwood like that because their names together currently invoke like….a forest? marshy forest? couldn’t figure out something i liked but i did like the forest imagery, since their planet no longer has them and in ways, they represent a beacon of hope for the planet.

how i would write erisol rant because im gay (bi) and find enemies to lovers extremely interesting in the concept of vacillating between the pitch and flushed quadrants (which is how I personally ship erisol)

Okay so to start off the most important part of their dynamic to me is that at the beginning Sollux does not like Eridan at all. In any quadrant. Or even as a friend. Having a certain level of respect or fondness for your partners good qualities is important for any quadrant, including (and maybe even especially) for kismesis, because if one has no respect or admiration for the kismesis’ good qualities this could lead to a very fucked up Tavris situation with one partner trying to mold the other into something they’re not. Being a kismesis (which is the relationship that i normally see erisol entering before they start to vacillate) is all about wanting to push your partner to be better. You see their potential and you see good qualities in them, but their negative qualities far outweigh the good in your opinion and you want to push the other to improve (at least this is how I see the dynamic, I can also see kismesis as rivals who oppose each other in a lot of ways and find enjoyment in fighting each other. i dont think these two interpretations are mutually exclusive tho maybe theyre just both important parts of the pitch dynamic. anyway-). If Sollux sees no good qualities in Eridan, hes not going to want to put in the time to help him improve. Just as a side note here Eridan already has pitch feelings for Sol, at least thats how I see it, judging by the fact that he tries to get Sol into a kismesis relationship with him at least twice, three times if you count pesterquest. But since Eridan really just wants a relationship with anyone, development here would be him finding genuine attraction toward Sollux other than just really wanting a kismesis and thinking their hate friend dynamic would be the easiest to turn pitch.

So basically I think a huge part of developing their relationship would be for Sollux to slowly start seeing good qualities in Eridan. For example, if Eridan gave Sollux the whole gender rant that he gave the MSPA reader in pesterquest, Sollux would see that Eridan actually thinks very deeply about things and isn’t only an annoying incel. He’s three dimensional baby. Seeing that Eridan is intelligent about subject matter that he cares about and thinks about shit, but just chooses not to most of the time, might spark some drive in Sollux to want push him to be better and start doing this more. I read this one fic that I can’t remember he name of but the main focus is all about Erisol having these deep conversations about the nature of the universe and slowly starting to catch feelings for each other through these arguments. Sollux at the beginning of the fic has been outright avoiding Eridan, but he starts to enjoy their conversations more and more as time goes on just because he’s seeing a more intelligent and thoughtful side of Eridan that he’s never seen before.

I feel like kismesis relationships and matespritships can easily vacillate between each other. If you’ve been pushing you kismesis to improve and they actually do to the point where you now think their good qualities outweigh the bad, you can easily catch flushed feelings for them. I think erisol would flop between the two, as they find each other’s qualities very attractive and still enjoy their rivalry but also sometime times just want to be in a softer sweeter relationship. 

Anyways I don’t really know where I was going with this but I’ve been thinking a lot about quadrants recently and how I view my favorite homestuck ships so I wanted to get it out somewhere. Thanks for reading my word vomit lol.

case in point! i got into op already knowing of a law ship, and after i read dressrosa, that ship solidified in my mind. but!! i caught up to op during zou :) which, in my mind, was the height of sabo/law popularity. so my first ship for sabo was actually with law! crazy how things work out. so much time has passed that i don't hardly even think about them anymore.

its fun you mentioned sabolaw because. the 'pair' in question for the au is actually ichiji/sabo/law. no i dont know why my brain latched onto this. yes im still kind of obsessed with it. the social media aspect of my shipfic is a lot about ichiji & the transition from being a child star (alongside his siblings) to a more casual internet ministardom. theres court drama bullshit. theres fangirl law. all three of them are transfem. its really special to me.

also YEAH EXACTLY!!! to your rarepair thoughts. in every fandom im in im a huge sucker for rarepairs that seem like complete nonsense. throw those characters whove never met into a room and LOCK IT! not always romantically yeah but honestly its a lot easier to like . find content of niche pairs through ship names than just trying to sift through a million posts in their maintags. tumblr wise, at least. i actually have a sideblog thats been since sort of abandoned dedicated to finding as much niche rarepair content for two characters (not always with each other, just those two in general).

a fun thought exercise ive done a few times also is getting a nice randomizer of characters im familiar with for a fandom and using it to pick out a few ships to figure out how theyd interact/if i could make a shipfic out of them. sometimes they click sometimes they dont but its a fun way to explore characters imo

whats ur fav lawship nowadays if you dont mind :3? i like a looot for him ill admit but im not particularly committed to any. as with the multishipper way. and thats fair (on the sabolaw bit)... first ships dont always last super long. they sure are fun to think back too tho ^_^

my favorite aus for fic... oh god thats a tough one. i already mentioned modern aus and this ones sort of a tangent off niche topic focus's BUT. fics that are set in a specific career (especially doctor aus & lawyer aus but genuinely i just rlly like looking at niche little details of someones career.) see also hobby focused aus! like uhh. gymnastics. ice skating. just stuff like that idk. and aus that are focused around like.. movie tropes/genres. crime noir detective aus, slasher horror aus.. especially fun when theres a spin on the original tropes but when you can see how much love someone has for the og concept is when it rlly shines.

none of those are super specific tho. um. i have a soft spot for superhero aus even when theyre really bad. fantasy aus are trickier but when they hit they hit rlly nice. (trying really hard to think ummm) thats about all i can think of rn? but it is pretty late so im for sure forgetting some.

NOW. as for acesabo specifically.. first off if you have any fic ud especially recommend id love to read them regardless of the tropes/ships/whatever. but. acesabo aus.. ohhhgh. i dont know!! ive read a lot of really cute modern aus with them. and im not USUALLY into soulmate aus flat out but i could really love a good acesabo soulmate au. it just suits them. theyre both characters i enjoy seeing as cute girls quite a bit. its kind of unfortunate im not really a fan of either of them as trans guys bc there is SO MUCH transmasc ace stuff out there. sorry my guy you have my name i cant live like that. all respects to people who do like that tho! i like them nonbinary multigendering it up . sometimes transfem sometimes just.. trans. sorry this is not the point.

Niilo x Lilim x Joak - Niilo is aro and initially refuses a relationship with Lilim bcus he cannot love her the way she needs & it would be cruel to both of them. He then meets Joak who has admired Lilim for a while but is shy/insecure and the three of them form a relationship together. Joak's grounded and calm nature balances out Niilo & Lilim's passion, both of them are fiercely protective of their family. Lilim is the warm and affectionate one, never shy in boosting her partners up. Niilo is unquestionably loyal and dedicated to anyone he views as his family, if a bit impulsive and aloof sometimes...(which leads to him 'accidently' becoming a priest of an ancient goddess as a means of protecting his adopted daughter from being used in the scheme of another ancient goddess as part of a divine feud thats been going on for a long fuckin time...its complicated.)

Given the limitations of using a dollmaker/picrew lol obv I can't get them perfectly the way I picture them:

Niilo is tall and skinny to the point of looking unhealthy. You could knock this man over with a feather looking idiot. Deceptively strong given his looks however would also snap like a twig if you bend him wrong.

Lilim is strong and stocky, her people are nomadic and so she had a figure that fits that lifestyle. Setting up & breaking down caravans, caring for the animals, hunting, etc. (Niilo looks about as out of place as you'd expect)

Joak is a whip cord, he's the shortest of them but by far the strongest. He is one of the animal caretakers and a valued hunter in the community. (He is trans tho in this setting gender isn't as binary lol so he wouldn't identify as such)

(All of them have long hair, bcus traditionally among their people you stop cutting your hair when you are in a committed relationship. Braids & jewelery can be used to express the nature of one's relationships. Not the same setting as the other couples below.)

Theopolis (Theo) x Tyne - When the ship Tyne is traveling aboard is attacked by pirates as part of an elaborate plan from his noble family to get him out of their hair he's surprised to discover it's actually a prime opportunity for him to free himself from the shackles of nobility and just be himself, choosing his own name and to present the way he always wanted he joins the crew of the Knight's Revenge more than willingly. Except his friend Theo back at court has no way of knowing any of that and is furious over the lack of concern his family and the other nobles have. Writing Tyne off as lost at sea and moving on. Theo who is also at odds with court life, far preferring to study whatever esoteric knowledge he can get his hands on then participate in the political games of court or swinging around a sword in the navy, decides the best course of action is to join a merchant ship on the same route that Tyne's ship was taken. This goes about as well as expected, somehow actually reuniting the two for shenanigans aboard a pirate ship and political webs neither ever wanted to be a part of.

Other details:

Theo as a noble who isn't interested in any physical exploits is fatter at the start of their story and develops more into a blacksmith/strongman body type as he spends time aboard sea fairing vessels. At the Academy he mostly maintains that body type as is part of the expedition crew so it's in his benefit to remain at least semi sea ready. His skill with a sword never improves, keep this nerd out of combat. He is ace and his relationship with Tyne is open, he never thinks anything of this. To him it's obvious given Tyne's wild nature and he never questions if Tyne loves him, that's also obvious.

Tyne is trans, his inability to conform to nobility strict gender roles is one of the things his family wanted him gone for. Since this universe has magic he takes potions (hrt), I'm undecided on if he would get the in universe equivalent of top surgery and it's ultimately irrelevant just a side detail lol. He was wild as a noble and only gets worse as a pirate, he's impulsive and scrappy but loyal and clever too. At first he doesn't know what to do with the relevation that Theo loves him romantically, initially thinking it's because Theo sees him as his old self. Eventually he gets over that insecurity accepting & returning Theo's love unconditionally. He views Theo as his soulmate even if/when he has other partners/lovers who are important to him he never lies to them about Theo's importance to him.

Demosthenes (Nes) x Friend in the Dark (Friend) - Newest nerds, design for both very much in flux, set sometime after Theo & Tyne's adventures where Theo is an established scholar at the realms best (and only) academy of magic. Nes is the Crown prince thought to be dead and confined to the Academy since childhood because of an ancient curse on the Royal family. Though he cannot actually take his rightful place as the heir of the Crown Nes takes the responsibility very seriously and his loyalty to what he views as his realm is unwavering. As such since he is confined to the Academy he and Theo are the leading researchers of the blight, a malignant disease that plagues the realm believed to eminate from the wilds-places of magic where no one dares go. Friend is a member of the Forsaken, people defended from those banished for their magic when the Crown outlawed the use of magic (outside of the approved academy) generations ago. They end up somehow in contact with Theo (I haven't developed the how/why of this yet lol) and end up agreeing to travel to the Academy to assist in the research of the blight. Friend is a unique case, they were born with the blight and while they suffer the physical effects; 'monstrous' corruption, chronic pain/fatigue, they haven't suffered the cognitive decline that others do.

I haven't nailed down the specifics but the Forsaken have an oral history/legend of a cure for the blight and as such all Forsaken are taught the 'pathfiders' oath from childhood. Oaths are one of the strongest magics of the Forsaken and culturally taken very seriously, when Nes fills some of the requirements for this legend Friend agrees to lead him along the path swearing them both to the oath of finding the cure or succumbing to the blight themselves. No solid details on what their journey entails, some typical sheltered but noble character exposed to the reality of every day lifedevelopment for Nes & some not all outsiders are badTM development for Friend. Discovering along the way that the curse on the Crown, the wilds and the blight are all intertwined in a political nightmare that might end in Nes having to forcefully take his rightful place as king in order to bring much needed unity to the realm. Their relationship is a slow burn and inherently a little tragic, Nes cannot abandon his role/duty as king and Friend cannot imagine a place for them at court that wouldn't be detrimental to Nes' goals.

(Given the revival of a certain fandom I'm aware that "blight" is kinda cliche/used it was supposed to be place holder that kinda stuck & it's not like these stories live anywhere but my head anyway P: )

These aren't ship head cannons but there still head cannons.

When Nathan first realized he had feelings for Ciara he listened to Love Me Dead by Ludo and Vermillion Pt. 2 by Slipknot on repeat while thinking of her.

Candy Pop threated Puppeteer not to kill Nathan when be found out Puppet used to use him as battery, feeding off his sadness when he needed to. Puppet did take Candy seriously before he got chased down by him and his giant magic mallet. They agreed that as long as Nate doesn't die then their all good.

Nathan, Jason, and Puppeteer are very judgmental people and they probably sit at a table as of there the Heathers and talk shit abt people. They love drama.

Whenever he has nightmares abt past traumas and other things like that he'll either go to Ciara [assuming they were probably sleeping in the same bed anyway]or Candy Pop. They probably talked abt and like cuddle each other to sleep.

Whenever things like that happen he tends to slay away from sally since her Green eyes remind him of Crystal and that lead to a whole other level of mental breakdown.

Nathan is a he/they nonbinary, he first came out as nonbinary a few weeks after him and Crystal cameout to each other as pansexual, even tho deep inside they both knew all along, she was very supportive and would let him wear her cloths when he wanted to present more feminine. Tho he rarely did since he was afraid to get picked on even more then he already did.

He is really good at making his partners flustered, he loves doing it especially when he has nothing else to do. Though he gets flustered very easily too. It's funny to see him being a confident asshole to a defeated flustered goth either burying himself in either his palms it Ciaras chest.

He took orchestra in middle school and high school because his dumb 5th grade self thought he could learn guitar in that class since the only explanation they gave if orchestra was "string instrument" and he ended up loving playing the Viola. He still plays it sometimes and he's amazing at it.

Whenever jeff is whereing a new band shirt Nathan will scream at him to name three song.

Grande is like the dad of all the circus creeps. They honor him like a cult leader and it scares him.

Nathan owns a record player and gets yelled at by other to stfu because how loud he plays it.

Since the sound of dripping water is like crack to him he either leaves the tap on or he will put his headphones and listen to random water sound untill he falls asleep.

Whenever he comes back from intense sprees he will fall asleep almost anywhere and it will be IMPOSSIBLE to wake him up.

He's always tried and probably has insomnia, it started developing when he was trapped in that dark little room. Its comes from the fear that something will happen to people he cares for or that he will get hurt and won't be able to protect them from others.

No matter how much this man sleeps he is always tired, which is also the reason why he sleeps till like 4pm. Candy Pop will enter his room and watch him for abt five second's before violently waking him.

In chronological order:

Dashingfrost is like...my OG Loki ship. Is it cause they’re both green based colour palettes? Both are narcissists' and like to dress well? That outfit to Jotunheim Josh Dallas wears in Thor 1? Fur shawl nonsense with double pauldron capes? HOLY SHIT. What a tool. Love it. And the Zachary Levi variant Fandral gets more intricate armor detailing and a full cape (which we respect) and his disheveled look is a great contrast to Loki with a more clean cut vibe. Again, the OG Asgard royalty/protector dynamic. The growing up to slow burn love each other over centuries. Easier to encapsulate a story about a more Norse myth centric story (If you don’t want to bother with super heroes in general). LOVE IT. Totally didn’t stay up till 11pm reading Dashingfrost. BTW, the name is charming. It’s a very Disney Prince(TM)-esque theme (lol cause Josh Dallas was Prince Charming in Once Upon a Time and Zachary Levi voices Flynn Rider in Tangled) It’s a very cute, charming name. It’s a charming ship that kinda ticks all the fairy tale, norse myth, potential centuries of tragedies, kinda stories. Also, out of all the Warriors Three, Fandral seems to be canonically (or fandom wise) the least hostile towards Loki as Thor’s best bros. He also has some banter with Loki in Dark World as well. We don’t talk about the untimely demise of the Three in Ragnarok. I felt so betrayed even tho I love Ragnarok as a movie.

Frostiron is that mid MCU ship that started with Loki throwing Tony out of a window by his neck, with one hand. (MARK ME DOWN AS SCARED AND HORNY) Fell for the ship hard even though it’s the most “never ever would be canon” air about it. 

Different height dynamic. Loki tall, Tony smol. Both have equally massive egos and big brain energy for their respective crafts. BOTH OF THEM HAVE BIG DADDY ISSUES. All that potential childhood traumatic angst. A lot of angst in this ship...now that I think about it. Exploring their individual PTSD issues either with Tony and his impromptu trip to space and his anxiety attacks or Loki being mind melted and tortured by Thanos....etc. a lot of potential healing and comfort uwu. More suffering ideas? The concept of mortality. Loki lives a long time, Tony no lives a long time. MORE SUFFERING.

Tony and Loki can swap the sugar daddy role. If Loki is on midgard or if Tony is on Asgard, which ever poison you prefer. Uhhhh...I also enjoy the amount of snark you can get out of them. Both from completely different realms, but they are kind of the same kind of messed up, big brain, ego driven idiots. Also, their ship name is metal af.

Lokius, not as cool of a ship name because it’s just a traditional melding of their names, but we respect simplicity. Also, the most canon ship we’re gonna get. The coolest ship potential because VARIANTS. Not the other ships can’t be in AU’s, but Lokius is basically “You want an alternate universe? VARIANT THAT SHIT”. Love it. 

Mobius is also a very patient, caring character in general. Besides knowing Loki’s entire story front to back, he’s just very sympathetic without being half hearted about it. Mobius is very much 1000% capybara energy. Loki, the hostile alligator sitting with a chill capybara. That’s it, thats why I love this ship. Capybara energy~

BUT THEN THEY ENDED THE SERIES WITH MOBIUS BEING LIKE “Who are you?” and I bout fuckin punched my monitor and screamed. I could eat my own teeth. LET. HIM. KISS. THE. COWBOY. anyway....Lokius, yesssss. A lot of potential with infinite and veritable possibilities.

Monty from fanf for fandom thing

Oh now this is an interesting one!

First impression:

Honestly i didn’t really have much of an impression of him at first (same with Roxy) xD i was more focused on Freddy and Chica since they were the two i recognised. Though i had noticed his name was eerily similar to ‘Bonnie’ whom i also noticed was missing, but didn’t think too much on it at the time.

So i guess i didn’t really have much of an opinion on him at first other than ‘oh a crocodile thats cool’

Impression now:

Mixed. Very. VERY. Mixed.

Ok so Monty for me is a very mixed bag of things xD At first the more i watched the playthroughs i noticed Monty was clearly intended to be the ‘more brawn less brains’ one of the group, and the fact you can hear him going hog wild in his room when going through the vents, and comments he makes like ‘you can hide, but you cannot hide’ seem to push this lol.

I thought ok that’s interesting, but then... THEN i learned of the logs that strongly hint that Monty was responsible for Bonnie’s disappearence/potential turning to scrap.

And... well my view on him instantly shifted xD

I’ve never been much attached to the fnaf characters before, as i never got invested enough in the games for a hyperfixiation to form (and admittedly the fandom scared me LOL) but even so i’ve always kind of liked Bonnie (he and Foxy were the closest to ‘faves’ as could get considering i wasn’t overly attached to any of them before lol) so yeah as a result i started to dislike Monty a bit. xD

AND THEN of course the hyperfixiation starts (mainly due to papa bear and two certain jester animatronics) and as a result i start poking around the fandom! In my searches i started to find some funny and wholesome art of Monty that made me think, ‘oh maybe he’s not so bad i think i could learn to like him more’

Yeah that was wishful thinking LOL but don’t get me wrong, i don’t outright dislike him anymore, but when the ships started popping up in my face (like glittergolf, that one especially just seemed to pop up on every new fnaf blog i considered following :’D i mean absolutely no offence to people who like it tho, but i find the ship very offputting xD)  which unfortunately only made me shy away from Monty even more. :’D

As of right now though, i guess i’m kind of neutral toward him? I’ve been reading a fanfic lately though that has improved my view on him, even though he’s not a main character i do love how he’s written even as a side character.

So yeah i guess my current view on Monty is, he’s not exactly a preference and he’s far from being a fave, but i do hope to warm up to him some more in the future, granted i find enough good content with him in it. :)

I don’t think he’s as dumb as he lets on tbh, like idk why maybe it’s the Bonnie thing but a part of me just likes the idea he might be sharper than he lets on and that’s why he reacts so violently to the afton virus taking over him because i think he is literally trying to fight it but in the process only causes destruction around him as the virus drives him mad as it does the others (Freddy and mostly Sun excluded)

Favorite relationship:

Hmmmm hard to say... havn’t really seen much content with him with the others that isn’t ship art or ship teasing, so i havn’t really formed any as of yet. I do like the idea he gets on well with Freddy, and has a friendly rivalry with Roxy though!

Favorite headcanon:

HMMMMMM again hard to say... the fact he was responsible for Bonnie’s disposal is very intriguing to me though, despite how it made me feel in the beginning xD i feel there was more to be said on that whole ordeal that never made it into the final game which was a real shame (unless it’s being saved for a sequel though it’s unlikely)

ACOFS Prythian Map Appreciation Post

So, the fandom is in a bit of an unrest right now, so I’ve decided to offer you the best distraction I could think of: an appreciation of the Prythian map that came inside ACOSF, since it is absolutely GORGEOUS and I don’t feel like we talk about it enough!

One thing I’ve always loved about the ACOTAR maps it’s the fact that every single book there are new details included in them, either due to an stylistic choice or to portray new locations that become relevant in the book. With time, more and more things have been popping up, leaving us with the work of art that is the ACOSF map.

For those of you that may have not seen it yet, this is the map! Look how pretty it is!

I’m going to leave my fangirling after a read more because this will be very long!

So, first things first: obviously you can see Hybern, Prythian and The Continent, with the Mortal Lands and Fae Realms portrayed where they are. There are a ton of little details added to them, mostly portraying different locations, so let’s look at them more closely!

First there is Hybern. As you can see, there is a little crown and a castle drawn in it! The crown probably symbolizes the fact that Hybern is ruled by a King instead of High Lords, so it’s a way to show the influence of royalty in that land. The castle signals... yeah, the castle we went to in ACOMAF. I don´t really think its location it’s accurate, since as fas as I remember we weren’t really told were it was... but to be honest, it being near the shoreline DOES sound familiar, so probably it is a good approximation of its real location. Also, let’s take in how many mountains there are, it gives Hybern a very wild feeling that I think fits it REALLY well!

Now, let’s switch to Prythian! As you can see, The Wall is clearly signaled with a thick, black line, but my favourites are the borders between the Courts (divided by The Middle, with the Seasonal Courts below it and the Solar Courts above)- shown as thorny branches, which really portray the feeling of nature that suits the Fae so much. There is one interesting detail, though: the only missing border is the one between the Day and Night Courts. Maybe it’s because they are already divided by a mountain range? Hmmm I wonder...

So, I’ll talk first about the Mortal Lands and the Seasonal Courts, then about The Middle and Solar Courts!

The Mortal Lands don’t have a lot of detail in them, but you can see a tiny drawing of Feyre’s village under The Wall! It’s obviously not in scale, but I love the level of detail you can find in it- specially the tiny tower that seems to belong to a church! It really gives the “kinda-medieval-village” vibes Sarah seemed to want to portray in ACOTAR, and that little tower just makes it perfect!

Then you have the Seasonal Courts!

First there is the Spring Court. There is one detail I personally find REALLY interesting about it, and that’s the fact that the Manor doesn’t appear- in fact it hasn’t shown up in any of the maps we have seen so far. You would think that such an important location would be shown, at least with a little skecht like Hybern’s Castle... but no, it’s missing. I wonder why... One of it’s features that has appeared since the beginning is its eastern river, which hasn’t appeared in the books so far. I wonder if it’s going to become relevant at some point or if it’s rather an stylistic choice. It seems there is a river in the UK near the same place, so maybe it’s simply based on it.

Next up it’s the Autumn Court! My favourite! Yay! There is something I absolutely LOVE about how it appears in this map, and thats the fact that it has the most amount of forests by FAR, which I think really fits it. Another detail I find charming is how we can see the Forest House and then a drawing of some kind of big cottage or almost farm house representing it. Knowing what we know about the people in the Autumn Court, I’m pretty sure they would resent seeing their home shows as just a “simple” building. There is something else than I like, and thats the fact that, except from the mountains in the north that separates it from the Winter Court and all the forests, the rest of the terrain is flat, which makes sense knowing that they have lots of fields. I simply love this Court.

Now let’s focus on the Summer Court. This one doesn’t have tiny drawings of castles either, but you can see Adriata and one arrow showing us where it would be. As you can see, its placed next to a river’s delta, which makes a lot of sense taking into account the huge ammount of emphasys the Summer Court has in ships and sailing, it’s natural that its capital is not only in the shoreline (as we saw in ACOMAF), but also near a river they could travel in too. I also love how you can see a spatter of forests in the east and some mountains near Adriata and in the North, but the rest of the terrain is flat. I feel like it has a very summery vibe, clear but also with a little bit of everything else.

Lastly, the Winter Court. This is the Seasonal Court we know the least from, at least when dealing with geograhy. The only thing we have learned is that Viviane held a small city during Amarantha’s Reign, which sadly doesn’t appear in the map, not even with a small drawing. What we can see it’s really close to canon, tho. We know that there is a mountain range between the Winter and Autumn Courts, which it is indeed shown in the map. On its north side there is The Middle, which means mountains as well, and there are also represented here. The rest of the Court seems to be flat, which again makes sense, taking into account the short description we get from Feyre in ACOWAR, when she’s running away with Lucien from Eris and his brothers. The idea of flat, icy fields and lakes surrounded by snow capped mountains REALLY fits winter, so I really like how this map transmits it!

Now, this is probably my favourite detail about the Courts: all of them have symbols drawn in them that symbolize their nature! In the case of the Seasonal Courts, they are flowers! They used to appear in random spots inside their territories, but this map has moved them so they frame the Court’s names! Please, feel free to correct me if I mess up with any of the flowers, but in this map I think they are: lavender for Spring, oak leaves and acorns for Autumn, magnolias for Summer and Holly for Winter! 

Let’s go North now. The Middle and the Solar Courts: Dawn, Day and Night.

In The Middle you can see Under the Mountain and the Weaver’s Cottage (I just noticed I cut the name out Oooops). The Mountain is suitably big- there is no way you can mistake it for a normal mountain. I also love how much sharper it seems compared to the others near it. The Weaver’s Cottage is... a cottage. I would have liked to see the forest surrounding it and the Bog of Oorid, though. Maybe they’ll show up in the next book?

The Dawn Court. We get another tiny drawing: a castle (signaled by its own arrow) which looks suspicioulsly medieval-looking (it even has a tiny flag on top, which is unbelievably cute). I wich it were a little more stilized though, since it doesn’t fit at all the image I had of the Dawn Court Palace in my mind. I mean, Feyre was almost jelaous of the decoration, there is some fancy stuff in there. Appart from that, there are a bit of trees and several mountains. It’s likely that the entire territory is mountanous, but we cannot see that because they need a blank space so we can see the court’s name, same thing with the Day and Night Courts. Mountains everywhere seems to be a theme in the Solar Courts. It looks very similar to the Day Court, which i guess makes sense, taking into account that they are sibling courts. The Night Court does look different but... I mean, we already knew that.

The Day Court! Again, no drawings and no cities and no nothing, which makes sense because that’s the exact ammount we know about this Court, since it’s the only one none of the POV characters have been in. I cannot wait to travel there in a future book, Helion is the best and it’s pretty sad there are no noteworthy features in its map. If in the next book there isn’t at least a tiny pegasus drawn somewhere I’ll riot.

Then the Night Court. Of course, since it is the court version of the Main Character, it is the one with the biggest ammount of stuff in it... except for Ramiel, or a mountain in The Prison. I’m still salty about this, I would have LOVED to see Ramiel portrayed as a huge mountain, with a slender monolith on top and three starts crowning it. This would represent the Night Court perfectly as well, and I’m sure it would have looked GORGEOUS. And I’m noy going to lie, I would have also enjoyed having the three sacred mountains protrayed at the same time, mainly to draw lines between them and feel like a investigator. Anyways, what we DO have is the Court of Nightmares, Velaris and The Prison. I think there are no drawings of castles or houses here because they wouldn’t really fit, but I do appreciate that you can see that Velaris is near the sea- and quite away from the Court of Nigthmares. It would have been lovely to see the Sidra and the location of the Cabin as well, but I guess there are just so many locations in the Night Court that it’s impossible to fit all of them.

This Courts also have their own symbols next to their names! A sun peaking out for Dawn, a full sun for Day and a bunch of stars for Night!

Nooow to finish off the locations, let’s go to the Continent! Compared with all the info we know about Prythian, they show very little. We can see Scythia in the Mortal Lands, the home of Vassa. Then, in the Fae Realms the territories of Montesere and Vallahan are clearly marked (with simple lines, not thorns like the Courts in Prythian. I approve, since there is no denying Montesere and Vallahan cannot compete with our beloved Courts in seer amount of DramaTM, so it’s a fitting choice). Then Rask is also shown offmap with an arrow. To recap (I had to look this up because my knowledge of this territories is shaky at best): Montesere is one of the territories that allied themselves with Hybern with the goal to defeat Phythian. There is nothing else noteworthy about it for now. Vallahan was also part of this alliance, and it’s the place where Ianthe was born and run away from. This is also the country Mor spends a huge ammount of time in during ACOSF. Rask also allied itself with Hybern... and I think we know nothing else about it.

What IS interesting about this map is that it shows what I think it would be fair to agree it’s Koschei’s Castle. There is a huge lake in the middle of that mountainous-and-forestal formation (which I think looks eerily like South America, which I’m sure you cannot unsee now), and on top of that the drawing of a tall, narrow castle. How cool is this??? I think it was featured in the ACOWAR map as well, which I LOVED. This only seems to further confirm the importance of this place in future books, and I honestly cannot wait to see more of Koschei and this continent.

I also need a map with all the Mortal Queens’ territories asap, I would LOVE to see their borders!

Now, to put an end to this Map Appreciation post, I want to point out some details that I think really complete it, are very fitting and also absolutely gorgeous.

The first one it that over Hybern you can see a very simple compass Rose (it shows only the north), but in this map it is The Cauldron! It’s tilted and pouring water, so at first it looks like something melting inside a circle, but when you pay attention to it it’s clear that it represents the Cauldron, maybe in a moment of creation! I LOVED this detail, it’s so perfect!

Also, now that I,ve brought your attention to this image: on the left there is a column, and on it you can see symbols of the Summer and Spring Courts, represented with a wave and a rose and shining oh so bright. In fact, every single Court appears in the map like this! I also love how they are surrounded by roses, it’s SO beautiful!

This is the other side of the map, where you can see the Autumn (acorns) and winter (snowflake) courts. Again, with the roses running up the column and the light rays around it. UGH SO GOOD.

But my favourites are the Solar Courts, which appear in the center of the map and let me tell you, I almost feel like using this as a screensaver because it’s sooo beautiful.

You have the Sun (Day court) shining bright in the middle, with its rays influencing the entire map, another Sun rising from clouds (dawn court) at the bottom, and it looks just so soft and ethereal, and lastly the Moon (night court) at the top, surrounded by stars, which you can see at the top of the entire map. I seriously love how this combination looks, it’s just so beautifu!
