Translation Diaries (22) - Sasa-Smoothly Nuru-Dyeing in the Colour of Laughs (Sasara's SSR MC Card)

Sasara likes making puns upon his name and it's no different here - the joke here was originally Warai no Iro ni Saratto Nurude. Saratto means "smoothly" and nuru means "to paint". In Sasara's Kansai accent, the de is a substitute for ze (e.g. ikuze! -> ikude!).

I had to force it a bit to make the joke work in English, but in the spirit of Sasara's daggy jokes, this seems to be fit-for-purpose enough.

Translation Diaries (20) - Handmade Bracelets (Samatoki's R Memory Card)

Samatoki's bracelets are known in Japanese as an omamori, or a "protective charm". Although both "protective charm" and "bracelets" describe this item well enough, most English speakers who don't know the deeper context of it [1] probably wouldn't recognise its significance as a protective charm in the first place (especially given omamori can take the form of little cloth pouches people carry with them).

Furthermore, I didn't actually realise omamori - in linguistic terms - covered both the depicted bracelets until I translated this - only one fits the definition of being a "protective charm", so I had it translated in the singular until I translated the description in note 1 below.

[Note 1: It's stated in the game itself - on the Detailed Information tab, or the last tab when you open up the Memory Card in the level up/list menu - "Samatoki always wears this on his wrist. The black and white bracelet was a memento [2] of his mother which Nemu made into two bracelets."]

I'm just worried Honobono is able to permanently disable the voice of whoever she attacks. I mean, even just what you say already is hella OP...if anyone had to face Honobono in, say, HypDream (which is a possibility, but not now when they've not yet rolled out main story pt. 5), they wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

(Sorry to derail the subject, but from the existing ghosts in the main story, I get the feeling HypDream main story pt. 5 is someone from DH - ghost Rosho would make an interesting opponent, but ghost Sasara or Rei would be even more interesting - but pt. 6 is ghost Jakurai...and as a Jakurai fan on main who used to rank Gentaro second before ARB made me deprioritise him [1], I'm not ready...) (<- hasn't faced ghost Gentaro in HypDream at the time of this reply)

(On a related note, ghost Hifumi and Doppo would also be interesting opponents, but I think you said something about ghost Jakurai being the leader of all the ghosts, which is why I think this at this point in time.)

one of the climaxes in this track was otome getting into a debate with uenonami and i’m specifically bringing this up bc it’s a battle of words

after the conflict is settled, we get our nice heart to hearts with the opposition party and whatnot the conversation shifts to the 3rd drb. the true hypnosis mic has the power to be wielded by three individuals who have a strong and otome would like for the winning team to use this mic and!!!!!!!
