Did anyone notice how the “hunk” Billy thing in magazines started when he was still a twink (in tkk)/twunk (for quite a while)? He’s a hunk now but it was a little silly to me that so many were calling him one at the time when he wasn’t. (or at least I hadn’t thought so.)

Definitely muscular and tall, but a hunk? I think of Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa when I hear that and I don’t see other men of this stature getting called that. No issue with it but I’m actually curious if the definition is looser than I thought😂

So there was this guy on twitter complaining that someone (I'm gonna assume women) robbed men of action role models and replaced them with the Timothee Chalamets and Tom Hollands. Mind you, the pictures that accompanied the tweet were of actors like Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, ie men that are either retired or should retire, but the pictures were of their best days.

So, I quoted the tweet with something along the lines of "proof 138362 of the disconnect between what men think women want vs what women really want" and the idiot liked it!

Sigh.

Anyway, there still hypermasculine men getting big roles on the little and the big screen. One could argue Jason Momoa or Henry Cavill fulfill the requirements, and they're still in their prime. I don't think Timothee Chalamet or Tom Holland are taking roles from them, or viceversa. Everyone has their public. But this "alpha men" and the "masculinity bros" want you to think the twinks are really taking roles from the hunks, because that suits their narrative of "masculinity is under attack! Society is turning feminine and gay! We must do something about it!" They know that's not what's happening, they're just scared because they can't be sexist or homophobic anymore without consequences. White, straight, cis men still have a lot of privileges, but because now when they tell a woman "you're gonna end up alone with three cats, a vibrator and drinking wine" instead of getting scared, she's more likely to say "where do I have to sign?" And that scares the shit out of them, to realise that now, to get a girlfriend/wife they have to work on their shitty personalities. They have to actually treat women like human beings, and that's the minimum.

So yeah, don't be fooled by these dudes and keep stanning your favs, whether they be skinny dudes or very buff ones.

PD: apologies for borrowing terms from the gay community, but turns out they're very useful descriptors.

Dante pulled out his sunscreen, reapplying some to his arms where the sun patch had changed color to indicate his lack of protection. Once satisfied with his application, he laid back down. "Michael Early's fine ass too." At this point Dante was fantasizing.

If there was somewhere for CJ to lay in the sun like a lazy little dog or cat, he was going to take the opportunity, no questions asked. Especially when the offer came in the form of Dante, who was always a good time, whether it be on nights out or just hanging out. 

He was on his stomach, his phone set to a timer to remind him when to turn over so he could be evenly cooked like a rotisserie chicken, drifting in and out of a light sleep. However, he looked up when Dante demanded his attention, pulling down his sunglasses to view the selfie properly.

“Damn dude, look at you!” He offered him a wolf-whistle. “I guess, like, Vin Diesel.” The racer then added with sincerity, grinning up at the musician.
