the wixarika (huichol) are a largely nomadic tribe and our ancestral lands range throughout west and eastern mexico. the wixarika also practice a yearly pilgrimage to our most sacred site, wirikuta, to gather sacred medicine, hikuri (peyote). in this pilgrimage ceremonial rites are offered at each site — for earthly prayers: protection of the land, reverence to the gods, spiritual wisdom and clarity.
