HS2 March Finale Update Spoilers (Astaroth 🥹😭❤️🖤💙)

I keep crying like a maniac. 😭 The devastating, dreaded moment has finally come. My love journey with Astaroth has finally reached its end for now. 💔 (I say "for now" because Alice revealed on Reddit today that the story of Vicky & her companions will continue separately from HS:R. 🥹) I'm not as sad as I was yesterday (I was actually sobbing & shaking yesterday. I know, I'm a weirdo.) but I still can't seem to stop the tears from my heart from falling. 😢 I know Astaroth is coming back but it hurts so much to be without him for what I'm pretty sure is going to be a really long time. 😭💔

The last chapters with him were sooo beautiful & touched my heart. 💙 I keep crying when I remember certain moments. 🥺🥹😢 Astaroth was SO sweet, SO caring, very passionate & just...UGH. Why do I have to live in this way, without him? 😭 My life is going to lose all its meaning. I'm already looking at things differently. 😢 I just can't imagine a life without Astaroth. 😭

I'll ALWAYS be grateful to Alice for EVERYTHING. 🙏🏽 She gave me EVERYTHING when she gave me Astaroth. 🥺 I'll never forget that, I'll never forget HIM. My sweet husband. My Astaroth. ❤️🖤🩵🕊️🥀

i dunno man i get disliking the epilogues and their subsequent narrative threads as pleasurable reading experiences but rather than appearing Only as a horrible terrible way for our beloved characters to develop but also um the heartbreak of that particular sight speaks to me. i dont know if it just has to do with my own experiences but while ive never had a friend turn into a fascist with political power i have seen people i care about develop in maladaptive and malignant ways. and ive seen people ive known since middle school turn into toxic and hurtful people. and ive seen my friends struggle with their relationships and expectations. ive seen friends become people i used to call friends, and ive seen them develop addictions. i have known people as a child and found out they died. i havent had a friend cuck her husbabydaddy with a clown but ive seen people change into people i cant call a friend anymore, and aside from the narrative commentary on having your OCs and brain baby mutilated and twisted by those who feel entitled to it, i think the heartbreak of seeing friends change in ways that were avoidable is what makes the epilogues hit for me. its not meant to be happy and gratifying, it is straight up horror.

[LONG RANT AHEAD, HEAVY SPOILERS FOR HS1 & 2]

Something really interesting came to me recently.

What’s Lucifer’s relationship with death and dying?

We know that immortals see death as something really out of reach, because the only way to die as an immortal is essentially murder (which is rare in normal circumstances).

But Lucifer has been (probably) told throughout his life that royals in hell are bound to be killed. It’s implied throughout the books that they don’t live too long because of this. There’s also his mother, who was very obsessive about Lucifer’s safety when he was a child.

This brought me to a question. Is Lucifer afraid of death or is he actually more comfortable with it than others?

My answer is BOTH but make it angsty. He used to be really chill about it until his father died. Or he “died”. Or both.

The moment his father told Crowley to kill him was the first in his life where he was afraid for his life (he also had to trust his intentions fully to jump against that blade and basically kill himself) He’d come close to dying a few times in the past, but it’s never been so real. And when Satan died by the hand of an unclaimed, it shook him. He avoided Vicky in s3 ep1 because he was trying to avoid death, because that’s what he saw when he looked at her in that moment.

TLDR: Lucifer is a sad sack of shit and he’s afraid of dying but not really

Since "pumpkin patch" is a term used by Caliborn to refer to a romantic relationship involving Dirk and Jake, would the name 'Rumble in Da Pumpkin Patch' literally translate to a lovers quarrel between the two? The presence of the show in both timelines and the way it's left without an official finale could imply that a reconciliation for them might be in the form of finishing the show for good.. hm

the ending wasn't what i expected but at least it doesn't end badly with someone in their group injured or dying. i can just create a scenario in my head and be happy with it. the battle against the mother of life was so good though (imo).

god she's so beautiful, it hurts. what a mother.

Something I see often in Jake commentaries is a "PQ Jake's route" style of commentary, where all of his actions are recontextualised through the lens of romantic relationships, which leads to a very shallow understanding of his character.
