Hold on a minute if Candy 36 is foreshadowing and the only things Jake brought into John's house were Tavvy and a "forty-year-old whiskey" (implying these are the same thing) does that mean Tavvy is going to be forty years old by the end of the comic? God that's unreal. I mean, it makes total sense HS2 would end with the kids being around the same age as their parents were at the beginning but Jesus Christ... I'll refrain from saying too much on TC until we actually see the guy, but I think it's interesting how the ø symbol he uses resembles Dave's scratched record shirt. It's definitely on purpose, considering Dave's self division was conveyed through an Oedipus complex in which his attempt to access himself is met with castration and TC's only rule ∅ nods at the subject: 'dø what yøu want shall be the whøle øf my law'. Though, it seems weirdly contradictory that he encourages "doing" what you want whilst implying he prevents himself from doing so...? In any case, the limp tip of the wizard hat he wears on naglink suggests some kind of castration or dick ailment, "pre[-]cisiøn" or not

One way to account for the gay/homophobic character of the Law in Homestuck (eg Gamzee punishing Equius's gender non-conformity while wearing a girl's glasses) is that prohibition is being construed in strictly Oedipal terms -- the Father is permitted to enjoy that which he forbids access to, with gender/sexual deviance assuming the rhetorical position of Mother.

Prior to FRAF's existence I was actually pretty bummed out thinking about how the omega kids might never get new names despite how inconvenient the current ones are, because they've technically already had them and it would be kind of strange to change them twice, but seeing Yiffy (also known as 'Yiffany') take both of their dialogue opportunities to imply they want theirs gone gives me new hope

Once you've spent a week trying to archive Tavvy fanart only to be met with 100 pictures of Tavros Nitram per search because they share a name and nickname you never stop wanting to beat Jake English to death with your bare hands

Although Tavvy's never going to be transmasc in a literal sense because he's been a guy and known as a guy his entire life I think the fact that he's an effeminate dude transitioning into a purple blood, the most traditionally masculine caste on Alternia, still gives the impression that he is at least "transmasc" on some level

Never thought I'd understand why John was being framed as the one who'd assaulted Tavvy in Candy 23 but I think it's just because knowledge of violation = violation. John asks Tavvy if he's being molested -> 'Tavros seems taken aback by the question. Then appears thoughtful' Subconscious memories of molestation brought to the conscious -> Tavvy has only just now been made aware of it ever happening so he has also only just now experienced it -> Because John has exposed a child to molestation, regardless of any actual physical impressions he has nevertheless done something "BOLD and 1LL3G4L"

Enough people have discussed this that I don't feel like going through all of this myself but the two purple vine-like paintings on the left and right are probably representative of Gamzee and Tavvy. The one on the right begins with a bloodbath, and a single straight line coming up from it before splitting off into two. It's contrasted with the left, which starts thin and then thickens and spreads out whilst the right dies down. The swirls on each side are different too, thick and short on the left and thin and long on the right. The shorter ones look a lot like Tavvy's commas, and one of those swirls is placed next to one of the stars that seem to represent the kids (funny that one looks a little like a sperm)

With that then I'm sure the left = Tavvy and right = Gamzee. The right is uplifted by breath (?) and I've talked about how John might've influenced Tavvy with his existential tantrum, and it spawns from some of Jake's hopey yellow. Gamzee's is cascading around Jake and Jane, and the branching path in the middle of it reminds me of the two branches (representing Candy and Meat) Vriska slammed him into in Candy 32. I guess this is to imply then that since Gamzee's influence died with him that Tavvy'll pick up the slack on his behalf? His is also reaching towards the black hole whereas Gamzee's stops at the blue loop, so he's continuing where he left off. And regarding those loops, the comma closest to the center overlaps with both John's blue loop and the red. Implying that Tavvy might use John to get to the black hole?? Or maybe they'll just cross paths.

It's interesting that Tavvy's paint mostly stays within the belltower too, since it's implied Dirk asked Gamzee to train Tavvy... And that both his and Gamzee's leaves the center wall we're faced with. It reminds me of the fenestrated planes in Derse. It might imply they're out of the audiences view in some way, or that they're a little more free from / aware of those boundaries compared to others. Notably, there's a strange smudge in the middle right where it almost makes it look like Gamzee's been dragged off screen. If this is a depiction of the Candy timeline, and his blood is alongside the red loop Vriska is using to take them to Deltritus, then I wonder where he could have possibly gone???????? (Meat. He's in Meat, having a grand time on Deltritus. I need to write about this already)

I can't figure out why one of his swirls is mirroring the one on Roxy though, or why she's got a loop of purple around her. Mysterious
