Dream, Sutton Manor. Lomo LC-A+. Ilford HP5 Plus (developed at 1600.)

Whilst indulging another hobby I went for a walk after dark up to Sutton Manor. It is now the site of Dream, a public sculpture of a young woman's elongated head. Her eyes are closed in meditation.The work was funded by Channel 4 (via the Big Arts Project) and Arts Council England and was completed in 2009. It is visible from the M62 motorway.

Despite the 1600 iso setting it is perhaps unsurprising that the shots turned out blurry. This will be another site to revisit at a more sensible time.

HP5 pushed +2 stops to 1600. Came out pretty contrasty which I like a lot with BW films.

(i shot these with ilford hp5+, and even pushed to 1600 it was right on the edge of what i could shoot handheld, so i lost a lot of the shadows...but i kinda like the effect it gives!)

Nikon F65. Ilford HP5 (shot at 1600.)

I often shoot at high ISO settings when using my digital SLR. This is because I photograph a lot of live bands and venues always stipulate "NO FLASH." This is understandable as musicians do not like to be blinded whilst playing.

This made me think. I could put a 400 ISO film in my Nikon and shoot it at 1600 ISO. As some films "push" better than others I decided to shoot a good quality film for this experiment, namely Ilford HP5.
