Very apparent that we have two seasons here in Utah, Winter and Construction.

sitting down with the woman i was many years ago, there is temptation to want to collect the fear that is about to pour out from her glances and onto the ground. i’d want to soak it up with as many absorbent words as i could possibly toss on top of the mess…

but i don’t.

instead i listen to her.

and while digesting her words i keep my eyes locked with hers, with no other plan but to spend undivided time with every single page of her stories, even the ones she wants to read out loud to me more than once. i allow space for the growing puddle of her panic to pool around our seats, and no matter the discomfort i may soon drown in, there with her i’ll be.

as each leaf falls from her book now sponging up the flood, the both of us see how the ink can now fade and she and i blend into one.

i do think peak comedy is a steve who is absolutely aware of the effect he has on people, but has never felt that way towards anyone else-- the closest he got was with nancy and robin, because he loved them both in different ways, and sometimes he felt like he was going to go insane if he didn't talk to them or touch them right now, but it was never like he had seen other people act about him. robin and nancy made him a better person. they didn't drive him to ridiculous levels of violence and obsession. maybe people in hawkins were just fucking weird.

and then he meets eddie, falls in love with eddie, and he's like... yeah, okay. alright. no, i get it. if anything happened to this guy i would steal the nuclear launch codes.

Each letter of this phrase was hand-cut from pressed cottonwood leaves and hung on hemp twine to create a conceptual art installation. This photo was shot in winter of 2015 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Happy Accidents.

This roll of slide film I shot in Chicago on a recent scouting trip did what's called "fat rolling", where the backing paper on the core of the take-up spool won't be as tight as you normally want it.

This causes light piping through the roll, especially the outer frames. Pretty neat to see the backing paper numbers burnt in tbh.

admittedly did just have my own personal witch looking for a cat in the alps moment in that I realized I love the aesthetic of so many horror film gifs and do not want to fucking watch this ever. why can't we have a film that looks like this highly specific modern indie vampire film I've never heard of but is about an alcoholic detective with severe retrograde amnesia and his reserved and patient colleague trying to solve a murder in the rough part of town in a failed city-state.
