Or, at least, I thought I did. Testing his prowess was difficult because Hufflepuffs never visited the Manor. I was young,” Malfoy said. “And he used to keep me company between hunting Puffs.”

“Great,” Malfoy said. “You really only want to help.” “Yes,” said Harry. “Just great,” Malfoy said. “Now what the hell is wrong?” Harry asked. “No one has ever wished for something completely altruistic before, you senseless, selfless wanker!” Malfoy said. “So I don’t even have a basic starting point for a base potion developed for this. I’m going to have to start from scratch, and it’s going to take all of my time, and I’m going to waste a ton of ingredients, and I will be reminded with every stir and chop of how bloody virtuous Harry Potter is.”

They had a decade long-distance relationship and when they finally meet face to face again for a tournament in Hogwarts, Georgie just can't get his hands off Colby. The small church in Godric's Hollow was unfamiliar. For a moment, Lily considered apparating somewhere else. Maybe the church she'd grown up in, where she and James had gotten married and her parents had been buried. Or her primary school chapel, with its soft carpets and gentle light. Even Petunia's church, where Lily had never felt welcome, would be more familiar.

But it wouldn't be fair to James to go so far. Not with all the traveling she had done recently. And certainly not since they had cast the Fidelius charm that morning, sending Sirius into hiding. So Godric's Hollow would have to work.

The church was her last resort. She had tried everything else. She had consulted Sybill Trelawney about her original words, desperately pleading the woman to admit she lied. The Seer had been no help, not even remembering her own prediction. So Lily had turned to others, trying to get some answers. She consulted Seers all over England to no avail.

She started with tarot. She tried three different readers, the cards were the same each time. A loss of control, a sacrifice and a reckoning.

She tried a palm reader. She took James and Harry with her, though the woman said she couldn't do much with a baby's hand. She didn't receive much insight that she didn't already know. As the palmist explained, palm reading had little predictive value and stood mostly for interpretation.

She stared into a crystal ball, desparately trying to see beyond the shape of the Grim, to see something hopeful, something she could change, but the black dog remained, offering little comfort despite its familiarity.

Her last attempt in divination took place that morning, before they cast the spell. She sat down with Sirius and shared a pot of tea. In her cup, the Grim, the cross and and hourglass. Death and imminent danger. In his, a fox and what could be snakes or worms. Betrayal from a friend and bad omens, or hidden enemies.

For the first time, magic had failed her. Death and destruction were coming for her family. But Lily Potter was stubborn. Other mothers would have given up, would have held their son close and cherished the time they had left. Instead she was here, begging God to realign her fate.

"Please," she whispered, kneeling in the pew. "I will do anything. Let it be someone else. Let Harry grow up safe and loved, and let James and I live to see it. Keep Sirius safe. Let him keep us safe. Just this once, let it turn out okay.

Please."

it's been a while, but here is a snippet from the neighbour reg fic that's been plaguing me for months :') (non-explicit nsfw, so beware)

“Fuck, Reg,” James pants into his mouth, the broken voice making Regulus’ head spin. That is until James continues. “We– ngh– I really shouldn’t...” “Shut up. Stop that,” Regulus snaps, instantly pulling away which earns him a whine from James. “Do you want this?” “I–” James squeezes his eyes shut, turning his face away from Regulus, but his hands stay firmly where they are, strong fingers curled around Regulus’ hips. “Use your fucking words, Potter. Do you want to fuck me?” James’ grip on his hips tightens, a punched out breath escaping him. “Reg...” “I need a clear answer or I will get up and get myself off. Do you want me? Yes or no? It’s not that difficult, even you have to be capable of knowing how to use those words.” At Regulus’ sharp spoken words James moans. Regulus will never understand why this is what does it for James, half the time Regulus doesn’t even talk to him with the purpose of turning him on. If James talked to him in this tone Regulus would probably want to cry, not get his dick out. And yet, here James is, obviously flustered, dark eyes once again trained on Regulus. “Yes,” he groans, somewhere between arousal and defeat. “Fuck, yes, I want you Regulus. I’ve never wanted anyone this much.” And that is more than enough for Regulus.

Oh btw plaidos has a history of being racist, when poc were upset that a lot of people only started to talk negatively about Harry Potter/JK Rowling when she began targeting trans women and not the racism in her series, she accused them of being trans misogynistic and said that people had these discussions for years (when that was part of the point. That poc have been saying that for years but it didn't make JKR a controversial figure or anything)
