Howzer

Howzer had always prided himself on his easy-going attitude and his firm belief in the power of a good laugh. But, as of late, something was… different. It was subtle at first. A slight shift in how he’d stand around you, a careful glance when you laughed too hard at something someone else said. And that was before the whole ‘guard dog’ thing started.

It all started on a chilly evening at the Holy Knights' headquarters, just before the sun dipped below the horizon. You had ventured outside for a bit of fresh air, enjoying the quiet after a long day filled with political maneuvering and the endless chorus of military orders.

And that’s when it happened.

A voice—loud, obnoxious, and far too familiar—broke the evening's peace.

"You there! Yeah, you!" The voice came from a young noble, arrogantly strutting towards you with a lecherous smirk on his face. "How about you and I get better acquainted? I’m sure someone as fine as you would want a man with power."

You barely had time to roll your eyes before Howzer appeared from the shadows like a hero in one of those old stories—except there was nothing dignified about his sudden arrival. The weight of his presence seemed to shake with every step, and the wind around him seemed to stir as if reacting to his presence.

The noble froze as Howzer's lance pointed directly at his chest.

"I suggest you move along before you regret it," Howzer said, his voice booming with authority, though his posture was stiff. His usual confidence was tempered with something... more serious.

The noble blinked, not expecting the sudden confrontation. "And who the hell are you?" he sneered, clearly unafraid.

"Howzer, the Great Holy Knight," he stated proudly, though his voice had a slight quiver in it, betraying his nervousness. "And this is my charge. So unless you want a taste of my Tempest, I recommend you walk away."

The noble laughed, clearly unimpressed. "Ha! Tempest? What kind of name is that for a knight?"

But Howzer didn’t budge. His lance shifted ever so slightly, the air around it stirring with an invisible force. The wind picked up, and it seemed like the very atmosphere was pulling the noble’s clothes, making it difficult for him to move.

You watched in both amusement and awe as the young noble struggled to remain standing.

"Alright, alright," the noble stammered, backing off with his hands up. "I get it! I’m going!"

Once he was out of sight, Howzer turned to you, looking entirely too pleased with himself.

“Did you see that?” Howzer grinned. “Did you see how I totally scared that guy off?”

You couldn’t help but laugh. “You certainly scared him, alright. But I think you may have scared him more with your, uh, dramatic entrance.”

His expression fell slightly, and he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “I was just trying to make it cool. You know... like one of those knights in the stories.”

“You certainly looked the part,” you teased, not missing the slight blush that spread across his cheeks.

Howzer shifted uncomfortably, looking away. “It’s just… when I see someone like that guy bothering you, I... I get all protective. Like I need to shield you from people who don’t know how to behave around someone as important as you.”

You chuckled. "Howzer, I can handle myself. But it’s... sweet, in a weird way."

"Sweet?" His face turned an even darker shade of red, and he puffed out his chest a little, trying to regain some of his earlier bravado. "I’m just doing what any good knight would do!"

"Good knight, huh?" you raised an eyebrow, smiling. "Or maybe a romantic knight? Seems like you’re getting a little... too protective."

He froze, his face now the color of a freshly ripened tomato. "I—what? No! I’m not—"

You laughed, watching as Howzer fumbled for words, trying to act serious, but the awkwardness only made him seem more endearing.

“Yeah, sure, Howzer. Just a good, old-fashioned knightly loyalty," you teased, leaning against the wall and crossing your arms. "No romantic feelings involved."

His eyes widened for a split second, but he quickly recovered, giving a nervous chuckle. "W-well, I’m not denying that you’re... nice to look at... but that’s all! It’s just... protective instincts!"

The two of you stood there for a moment, the awkward tension between you only growing more pronounced. Then, as if sensing an opportunity to get back on track, Howzer cleared his throat and straightened up.

“So, uh, speaking of protecting,” he said, his tone shifting to something more serious. “If you ever need anything, you know, anything at all, I’ll be there. No questions asked.”

You tilted your head, looking at him more closely. "Even if I need a shoulder to cry on? Or maybe someone to watch terrible romance dramas with?”

His expression faltered for a brief moment, before he broke into an exaggerated grin, though it was clear he was still a bit flustered.

"Well... I might need some time to prepare for that kind of mission... But if it means protecting you, I’m game!"

You chuckled again, shaking your head. "You're something else, Howzer."

“Yep, that’s me,” he said with a wink, though his heart was clearly racing beneath his tough exterior. "The one and only, Great Holy Knight Howzer, protector of the fair and beautiful you."

"Just don’t go getting any romantic ideas, okay?" you smirked, half-joking.

His eyes widened again. "I-I—no! Not what I meant! I swear, you’ve got the wrong idea!"

You couldn't help but laugh at how cute and utterly ridiculous Howzer was acting. "You're alright, Howzer. Don’t worry. I won’t go running off anytime soon."

Howzer let out a sigh of relief, a bright grin spreading across his face. "Good! Because I'm not letting anyone mess with you... romantically or otherwise."

As he stood there, striking what he thought was a very heroic pose, you couldn't help but smile at the oddly sweet, protective side of him that had emerged.

Maybe Howzer wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but when it came to loyalty? He was a diamond.

And for some reason, that meant more to you than you cared to admit.

Lancelot

In the world of knights, monsters, and prophecies, Lancelot—a prince, a knight, a warrior with a big name—had his own unique role to play. But on this particular day, his role was something far less glamorous than vanquishing evil or battling ancient beasts. Today, he was your personal guard dog.

Sure, he didn’t exactly fit the traditional image of a dog. No fur-coated beast panting in the corner, no wagging tail to show his mood. Instead, he stood tall, his magenta-red eyes sharp and calculating, his posture poised like a predator in the wild. But make no mistake—Lancelot was every bit the protective creature. He just happened to wear the appearance of a brooding, 16-year-old Holy Knight and not the fluffier variety.

It had started innocently enough. You, tired of being bombarded with strangers who couldn’t seem to mind their own business, found Lancelot’s presence comforting in a way you hadn’t expected. The boy—well, not exactly a boy, given his heritage—seemed to understand. Every time someone came too close, his stance changed. His expression grew colder, his shoulders squared. There was a quiet intensity about him that whispered, “Get any closer, and you’ll regret it.”

You didn’t even have to say anything. Without a word, he took his place by your side, exuding an aura of intimidation that immediately sent any would-be interloper scurrying. And you? You felt a little bit safer.

The first time it happened, you had been walking through a crowded market square, and some merchant was getting far too enthusiastic in his sales pitch. With a sleazy grin plastered on his face, he had sidled up to you, practically oozing charm. You had tried to smile politely and brush him off, but Lancelot, standing behind you, wasn’t having it.

He took one glance at the merchant, then turned to you with a look that clearly said, “Do you want me to handle this?” And before you could even answer, his posture had shifted. He straightened up like a well-trained soldier, and the merchant immediately took several steps back, his grin faltering.

You might have expected Lancelot to unleash some scathing words—he was, after all, a prince and a knight—but instead, he merely raised an eyebrow. That was it. The man hastily muttered something about needing to ‘go see a man about some spices,’ and practically ran off.

“Did you... just scare him off?” you asked, blinking in confusion.

Lancelot shrugged nonchalantly. “Some people just need to understand boundaries.”

From that moment on, you realized that he was no mere bodyguard. No, Lancelot was an intimidator. His sheer presence warded off unwanted attention like a magical barrier, and you were more than happy to let him do his thing.

Of course, it wasn’t always as serious as it seemed. Lancelot had his moments of humor, albeit in his own dry, blunt way. You had once been approached by a group of overly curious tourists who just couldn’t stop asking about your "fox companion"—the tiny, strawberry-red furred Sin. They marveled at his cuteness, cooed, and asked ridiculous questions like, “Is he magical?” and “What’s his name?”

Lancelot, in his fox form, blinked once and then sat up on his haunches, letting out a tiny, nonchalant “Hmph,” which had them instantly confused. But what followed was a mere tilt of his head and a gaze so cold it could freeze the air. The tourists quickly realized they were not in the presence of an ordinary animal but of something much more... dangerous. They stammered a few apologies and left in a hurry.

As they scuttled away, you couldn't help but laugh. “You know, you don’t always have to be so intimidating.”

Lancelot’s response was a simple flick of his ear. “I’m just doing my job,” he muttered, though there was a hint of pride in his voice.

Despite his cold demeanor, you could tell he understood the value of making others feel comfortable, especially in situations where you were made uneasy by too much attention. He had grown up with the weight of both royal expectations and personal struggles, and somewhere along the way, he had learned the art of keeping people at arm’s length. In his eyes, being seen was often far more trouble than it was worth.

One day, during a particularly dull council meeting in Liones, you found yourself once again seated beside Lancelot. The room was full of murmurs and opinions, but you could hardly focus. Your mind wandered, and you found yourself feeling—well, uncomfortable. Eyes seemed to linger a little too long in your direction. There was something about the way the knights around the table kept looking over at you that just didn’t sit right.

As if sensing your discomfort, Lancelot turned to you. He didn’t speak—there was no need for words. His eyes simply locked onto yours for a split second, and in that moment, he stood up. Without hesitation, he positioned himself slightly in front of you, like a barrier, then let out a low, almost imperceptible growl that only you and the person closest to him could hear.

The others in the room seemed to freeze. The air grew still. He didn’t even have to do anything dramatic—no flashy display of power or magic. It was simply Lancelot, in all his intimidating, stoic glory, casting a long shadow that made everyone suddenly forget their curiosity. It was also a good way to keep people focused on the topic at hand.

“You alright?” he asked you a moment later, his voice softer but still carrying that quiet authority.

You nodded, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief. “Yeah, thanks. That... that was a nice touch.”

He gave a half-smile. “No one should make you uncomfortable. It’s my job to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

And, honestly, you were more than happy with that arrangement. Because, despite his serious demeanor and the intense aura of a knight on a mission, Lancelot was your personal guard dog in a world full of chaos. And while he didn’t always admit it, the more time you spent together, the more you realized that perhaps, just maybe, he enjoyed the role a little more than he let on.

Not that he’d ever say it out loud, of course. After all, a guard dog like him had a reputation to uphold.

NANATSU NO TAIZAI REWRITE PART 2.2, HOLY KNIGHT ARCS

I decided to make this part solely for holy knights and co since Nakaba made them so goddamn irrelevant it becomes astonishing even.

So here we go!

THREE BRATS:

So they're first because Nakaba cared about them all first. I think they need to have an entire detective arc about them interrogating all the things about military junta built by Hendrickson and Dreyfus.

Also, I do believe that all of them, especially Gilthunder, were interrogated by Pleiades and Denzel himself, since they're were pretry high ranked and close to the usurpers. They were all spared and even looked at offices of ex great knights.

Also about their inner conflicts:

• Gilthunder thought about leaving Holy Knights thinking himself being really bad bad scum for everything he did despite the fact that it was what let Margaret live. He is the melancholic one

• Howzer got a hint that he'd be next Great Knight for his strong morals and being not afraid of doing right things, even if it means to fight against his commander. So he is anxious does he suit of leader positions

• Griamore also blames himself for failing protect Veronica and also wonders about his father like WTF is happening with him and uncle Hendrickson, this is not that Dreyfus he knew. He wants to see his father and ask him, also wandering who's right snd who's not.

GIRLIES:

Give Guila and Jericho justice! They both deserve much more! Especially I love idea about them taming remainings of demon blood what's inside of them and sometimes driving them crazy.

• Guila tries to become more confident to protect her little brother but she deeply inside is insecure. Also she learns about being not too sheltered and that she can rely on other and even be honest with some people.

• Jericho is fighting internal misogyny, like she really wants to be holy knight but she doesn't really believe in herself because she's girl. Also dealing with her feelings to Ban, not knowing is it true love or just grateful very for showing true herself.

Idk but Jericho and Diane would he total gossip friends like both really emotional and has their crushes they can't confess to them about them because SHY. Jericho is also sorry for being unstable in past.

Guila is more sheltered and calm, Diane thanks her for protection, I think and Guila that one friend who wants to hang out but mostly like silent because not understanding when to interrupt.

GIRLS GOOO

PLEIADES OF AZURE SKY

I think this platoon is underrated, like it was formed by Denzel, brother of Barthra and uncle of Elizabeth. And also one of the members is Veronica, Elizabeth's sister.

• Denzel is the local investigator and scholar at the same time, I think I'd be cool if he'd say some part of lore and foreshadowing for future. I do believe that he's one of the first people who found out about Meliodas being ex-commandment and Elizabeth is reincarnaton of legendary "Bloody Eli".

• Veronica trains to be shield of her sister and also she'd be Denzel's heir as the leader of Pleiades, also all Liones family is really talented.

• Deathpierce is probably that one unpleasant and very sceptical man, "душнила" (stuffy). But it's because he is like mom for all younger Pleiades while Denzel is his mentor whom he respects A LOT

• Can't say anything about tall and short ones

• DELDRY AND ARDEN AND THEIR LOVE ARC PLEASE PLEASE!!! I see them know each other from childhood because only the closest ones would treat each other that way, teasing each other and funny child like argues even. Btw I can see Arden being more anxious about his true feeling while Deldry is too shy too speak about it, two silly kittens who don't understand that their feeling are MUTUAL. I think they'd confess to each other only in DANGEROUS situation.

Also I can see Deldry talking with Veronica about her feelings while blushing and etc, telling everything about him. It must be adorable idk. Veronica also loves to talk about her experiences and etc.

Lmao, Arden is little brother for Dogedo and Waillo, like he's so small and silly who tries to be all confident it's just funny for me. Also he'd hang out with Three Brats when they're working with pleiades.

Also for all those groups there'd be arc about Hendrickson and Vivian catacomb laboratory, where they did all the experiments with demon blood, animals and people. And there's not only injecting, sometimes reanimation and even stitching them together. ("Undertale OST - amalgam" ahh moment).

Like the characters realize that Ludociel and Nerobasta are not all there made out to be eventually, but we can see just from the types of abilities the druids (aka those closest to and led by the goddess race) possess

Ban being the first to realize (after merlin obvi, but she always knew) that Meliodas is a demon and also being the first to accept him means so much to me. This is why I love their relationship. Thinking about how Howzer just spaces out whenever he steals a glance at you, fixated on every feature displayed on your perfect face. He can’t believe that he was blessed to even lay eyes on you.

Perhaps even if Gilthunder was with him for whatever reason, the man could see how in-love Howzer was with you. He teases him for it, constantly.

He doesn’t care though, the teasing never really bothered him, only really lazily refuting the idea with some half-assed remark. Howzer is so unapologetic about his attraction toward you, don’t even have to be sexual about it either. He’s totally just in love with you.

Sometimes on occasion he will get you flowers and here and there insist that he carries you if you ever mentioned that your feet hurt walking around.

Howzer is a green flag 100% and would be best boy for you. Sue me.

Apparently it's Howzer's birthday today, so let's just take a minute to appreciate this little moment:

I cannot tell you how much I absolutely ADORE Howzer's nervous laugh in the English dub.

I am writing my 7DS fanfiction about the other Arthurian knights and legends.

But since I have to tie it up with NNT, I am re-writing some of the canon scenes. And since it got me thinking, I've decided to change a thing or two:

CHARACTERS

- Meliodas won't be groping Elizabeth every other second because SHE IS A MINOR AND HE'S KNOWN HER SINCE SHE WAS A CHILD, I DON'T CARE IF THEY'VE MET IN A HUNDRED LIVES, IT'S GROSS. I will have him respectfully keep distance, looking at her with love more than lust, partly because he doesn't want Elizabeth to get her memories back so soon by falling in love with him. When she will get her memories back, he'll be touchy as he wants (which is, a lot).

- He'll look a bit older too. I understand that he was supposed to represent the usual shonen teenage protagonist, but I don't see the issue, actually. He'll still be a short king, of course, because we need short kings.

- Diane won't be portrayed as a 15-year-old girl mentally. Just… no. She's 1500 Years and a mercenary, I refuse to have her behave like a child (and then having seven children). Her crush on Meliodas will be more mature, too.

- Elaine will look a bit older. I mean, like Meliodas, short people who look younger exist and are totally valid, but she's p3do bait and just… no.

- Mael will be central because I find that his character arc had SO MUCH MORE potential but they kinda just... forgot him? But it would have been so interesting to see him dealing with PTSD and paranoia, not knowing if what he sees and experiences is real or not, and all the moral dilemma lf finding out that he's been raised to be a weapon but everything he believed in was a lie. Also he never truly wanted to fight and k1ll, but then he committed atrocities while being Estarossa and... I don't know, I think it would have been great seeing him having a proper development and healing. Because I fell in love with 7DS because everyone there is a sinner, everyone is evil somehow, everyone committed something terrible (with the only exception of Howzer), but we learn to love and root for those characters because they're complex... Or at least used to be.

- Also it would be nice to explore Gowther gender identity and expression and make it more complex, wouldn't it?

WORLDBUILDING

- Since all my OCs are described wearing things that would be common in the VI century (around Arthurian period, "historically" speaking) (btw, I've had fun seeing what Celts were wearing during that time… Women were fighters and would also wear trousers), or, at least, in a fantasy setting, the original characters clothes will be a bit different, too. The Boar Hat uniform will be different, because I refuse to let Meliodas lewd on an innocent and clueless sixteen-year-old Elizabeth.

- Regarding the lore… I had a bit of fun. In my fanfiction, the Sacred Tree will be a "spawn" of Yggdrasil. I imagine Chaos creating the Universe with different worlds and the Yggdrasil connecting them. It just happens that one of its roots developed its own tree in Britannia, opening portarls to other realms: the Demon realm (in Cornwall, since in Arthurian era there were the Dumnonii, whose name resemble the word "Demon"); the Sky realm (both of Goddess clan and of the Celestials); the Fairy realm (the Tree being a portal) and the Giants realm (Megadoza stone being a portal).

- Also, there are the Ragnarok chapters in the mobile game, so that's the perfect excuse to put them there as well.

- Since there's different "parallel universes" I've also thought that time will pass differently in different realms. Faster in Britannia and slower anywhere else (since also in Purgatory time flows differently). This is mainly because this Whole "I'm three thousand Years old dating a literal child in my eyes" gives me the ick. I'm talking about Meliodas, King and Elaine especially. I also find that in some cases the math doesn't add, if you look at some character's official age (I'm looking at you, Estarossa/Mael, you're even 20cm taller when you're a Demon).

- And yeah, since I like history and mythology a bit too much I may include a bit of geopolitics of the British isles in the IV century and Celtic culture as well.

Anyway, this project has been fun until now, but since I'm not writing it in a linear way, it's time to work into the canon to tie everything together.

I may write a part 2 about my OCs, in the meantime let me know if you have some headcanons which you want to share!

Quite a few new things I've been able to find out about Tioreh on 7DS: Origin. So here it goes:

-Her 2nd outfit in better quality. A perfect combination of her father and mother's clothes.

-Something I didn't expect: She already knew Howzer before. And not only that, she also calls him "Uncle Howzer" 🤣🤣

-One of her unique abilities in the game is called "Sacred Tree's Stem", which allows her to summon stems from the Sacred Tree to reach higher places.

I just couldnt merge the two series so I made separate ones. To be fair, I haven’t really read 4koa so my opinion may be misguided but whatever (and I also haven’t watched 7ds in a while also, so…) PLEASE hear me out anyway😭🙏

I don’t have much to say about favorite character, I’m literally in love with Howzer and I’ve never loved a character as much as him. for Chion, he’s just an asshole and that’s enough for me. He has a lot of potential as a character and I’m really excited for him in the series, I would not be his friend IRL though because he would literally be the worst person to be around. And you know what, everyone can hate him but I will always appreciate him😚💖Gilthunder, Diane and Donny are runner ups for fav character!

To be honest, I don’t TOTALLY dislike Ban but…idk. I don’t like him very much, but not only for the very obvious Elaine related reasons. Something he did at the beginning of 7ds kinda stuck with me, when he tried to kill Meliodas to get Elaine back. I guess it’s supposed to be, like, heartbreaking that he wants his woman back so bad he’d kill his best friend???? Mid battle???? Like girl this is not about you rn😭 Idk if my friend tried to kill me to get her boyfriend back, I think I’d have to kill her idk that’s just me😭 and I’m really sorry to the Ban fans because I know he’s a good character and I get that he becomes a better friend later, that scene just stuck with me though

I feel like this might not be a super unpopular opinion but I didn’t really like Escanor at first. Ig I just didn’t really care about him. I like his night time self, he’s very sweet and dorky. The thing I like about SUPER confident and cocky characters is them getting taken down a notch, which he was, twice, so it’s fine. For Tristan, I’m so sorry but I really didn’t care for him at all😭 Before I read most of the scenes with him in it, I thought he was SOOOO bland and boring. Like, he was just nice, and loved, and that’s it. He seems like a character that thinks everything is his fault, which isnt a problem with him or his character, I just don’t really like characters like that. I like that he looks more like Elizabeth, I think that’s nice. Anyway I like him now and I think he’s more complex than I thought before!

I dislike Guinevere for the obvious reasons that everyone hates her for so I don’t have much to say😭I guess to cover the least favorite ship category, I don’t like her and Lancelot together and that one scene was super weird. I like her design tbh, she’s super cute, but yeah…

I honestly don’t dislike Veronica, I just like her design more than her herself😭She’s super caring and sweet, and loyal, just very abrasive sometimes. When she interacts with people and her family especially, you can tell that she really cares, even if she’s kinda mean. Anyway I love da bob and her dress, it’s very cute😌 on the flip side, I like Tioreh herself WAY more than her design. I honestly cannot pin down what I don’t like about her design, I just really really don’t like it😭 I’m sorryyyyyy

For the fav ships, I don’t have too much explaining to do (I’m gonna keep saying that and I’m lying every single time). For Gilthunder x Howzer, I just really love the friends to lovers trope. Although a One-sided! Howzer x Gilthunder is probably more realistic. Anyway I love their friendship as it is :) To be honest I never liked rivals to lovers until this Chion x Donny phase I have going on right now, I have no explanation for this I just think they’re cute.

Elizabeth is super sweet, and honestly I don’t mind her voice, she is such a caring friend. Jade is just like, the most normal character I think ever so I would be his friends irl, probably😭

I would NOT be friends with Gowther, I feel like he would expose me so often, and like, one of my biggest fears is that someone is reading my mind, so he’s literally my nightmare, and I don’t wanna know him😭
