Absence Persistent
Pairing: Wednesday Addams x fem!reader
Summary: You’re physically affectionate with everybody except for Wednesday, and she’s determined to find out why.
Warnings: soft/ooc!wednesday, yes that is indeed a warning
Word count: 2k
Notes: another late post lol. this a joint request, hope you guys enjoy! (especially you mom)

Tumblr media
Physical affection was something that, for the most part, annoyed Wednesday.
Contrary to what many believed, she did not hate it (though if you asked her, she would certainly say she did). She simply didn’t crave it the way so many others did. It was fine in small increments but after a while, it made her uncomfortable.
So while she wasn’t against the very occasional, short-lived hug from those she was close with, it was just something she deemed unnecessary. Something she could easily live without.
Wednesday still tolerated it from a select few people. Namely her family. Her mother was still kind enough to stay at arm’s reach most of the time, but her father was overbearing even when he was trying to tone his affections down. Pugsley was allowed small 10-15 second hugs because he was weak and he needed it.
Enid somehow wormed her way onto that list of people, mostly because she just couldn’t help herself. She was allowed a maximum of 30 seconds worth of physical contact per day, and once that was spent, Wednesday had no qualms about shoving her off.
Though you were close with Enid, you fell into the same category as her mother—seeming to understand and respect her need for personal space.
It was one of the things that drew her to you at first, something that eventually made her (marginally) more willing to close the gap between you two emotionally and allow you behind her walls piece by piece.
She was half convinced that after confessing your feelings, you would switch on her. That you would want to hold hands or hug or, god forbid, cuddle.
However, that didn’t happen. Even after your romantic relationship with her began, you never expected affection from her. You still maintained that distance.
When you sat next to her during class or lunch, you made sure there was ample room between you so your legs or arms never touch hers. While studying, you sat across from her, textbooks and worksheets taking up the void between.
It was amazing, easily one of her favorite parts of your relationship. The fact that you respected her space without any complaints only made you more attractive in her eyes.
Aside from the occasional kiss, you existed in a completely separate space from her. Always. And she liked it that way.
But then her own mind started to betray her.
It started small, with an insignificant observation. Wednesday had always known that you enjoyed being touchy with people you cared for, but over time she began to notice just how much casual physicality you had with your friends.
Walking shoulder to shoulder with Yoko between classes, getting piggybacks from Xavier, giving high fives and fist bumps to Ajax, leaning against Bianca during conversation at lunch, ruffling Eugene’s hair while harvesting a hive together—the list was endless, and it was frequent.
And only when she noticed this did it occur to her that you had never so much as brushed against her before, not even accidentally.
Wednesday found an ache forming with each subsequent act she witnessed, the gratefulness she felt about you keeping your distance slowly souring.
As embarrassing as it was to admit, Enid was a particular point of contention in this aspect.
See, Enid shared your propensity for physical affection. It was one of the reasons why you two were such close friends.
You and Enid were always physically connected in some way when you were together. Linking arms, holding hands, resting your head on her shoulder or on her lap while you gossiped about whatever trite drivel Enid put on her blog recently.
Wednesday hated it. She hated having to be subject to your constant physicality, seeing the two of you so unabashedly happy to be in one another’s presence, to see you so open in displaying it. But worst of all, she hated the way it made her feel in turn.
Jealousy wasn’t something Wednesday was used to feeling, especially toward someone as non-threatening as Enid. But the feeling itself wasn’t even the worst part, it was the way it fed into her burgeoning insecurity.
The desire to feel your skin on hers spread like a malignant cancer, slowly poisoning her mind, body, and soul.
She grew to hate the ever-present space between you two, silently wishing you would bridge the gap and brush your shoulder or arm against hers in the halls, intertwine your fingers between hers while studying, or wrap your arms around her in the solitude of your dorm.
Anything to alleviate the growing want within her.
But she could never find the words. Try as she might, Wednesday just couldn’t find the right time, the right place, the right circumstance. And on the rare occasions that she did, her voice caught in her throat, whatever words she had on her tongue dying in the face of the seemingly insurmountable chasm between you and her.
So she could only sit, wait, and watch from across the rift until her emotions finally boiled over and pushed her into action.
-
Weekly study sessions were something Wednesday routinely looked forward to.
It was a tradition that began mere months after she met you. At first, she simply needed a study partner and no one else was willing to go at her (completely reasonable) pace except for you.
You, who said that very first day that you would always go at her pace, a sentiment that you continued to echo even now, months into your relationship.
Usually, these sessions would be in the Weathervane, tucked into her favorite booth in the back corner together for hours on end, talking about so much more than schoolwork. But recently, having the table separating you from her was agonizing; it was like a physical manifestation of the distance between you.
She couldn’t deal with it anymore, so she began inviting you to study in her dorm. It wasn’t quite as pleasant as the café but she was willing to sacrifice comfort to get even an inch closer to you.
And yet, she was no closer than before.
Because even now, you were staying away from her. Keeping the books between you as you sat across from her on the floor. Even without the physical barrier of the table, there remained an immovable expanse of space between you that she just couldn't get rid of.
You were so close yet still so far and Wednesday could no longer take it.
“Do you not care for me as much as you do your friends?” Not the most articulate way to put it, but it was to the point, and it effectively got your attention.
Your head shot up with a whiplash-inducing urgency, brows furrowed and eyes wide with a concern that permeated your tone. “What? Of course I do, Wednesday. Why would you think I didn’t?”
“It’s just-” She cut herself off, her point not quite coming together correctly. Wednesday never struggled with her words. She was a writer, after all. So the sudden trouble she was having annoyed her greatly. Stubbornly, she started again. “You always…touch them. You said yourself that it’s how you show that you care for someone, but you never touch me. You never show me that you care for me like that.”
“Wednes-“ you began, but she didn’t notice, plowing on with her thoughts.
“Did I do something? Have I upset you? Do I repel you somehow?” The way her voice shook at the end nearly made her look away, the sudden show of insecurity exceedingly humiliating. But she needed to know what was wrong.
“No, no, you haven’t done anything to upset me,” you said, shaking your head quickly. The words did little to ease Wednesday’s mind.
“Then why don’t you show me the same physicality you show them?” she asked, voice lowering to a near whisper.
“Well, I’ve seen how uncomfortable you get whenever Enid tries to touch you too much. So I tried my best to avoid any contact with you so you didn’t begin to resent me for subjecting you to something that you hate,” you sighed, posture deflating slightly. “I just didn’t want to do anything to drive you away from me.”
Conflicting emotions coursed through Wednesday.
The revelation that you were constantly abstaining from something you loved for her was…undeniably sweet. But it was also terrifying—the fact that you were willing to change something so fundamental to yourself as the way you showed love for her perceived comfort.
Wednesday had never met anyone outside her family that cared for her so much that they would alter their behavior for her benefit. And, admittedly, she wasn’t sure what to do now that she had.
In the end, all she could muster was a distantly mumbled, “I see.”
Almost immediately, she was swept back into her head, conflicted again.
On one hand, this was completely uncharted territory. Hugging Enid of her own accord once was one thing, but wanting to do things like that with you constantly was something else, something unfamiliar. Something that, if she was honest, she wasn’t sure she was aptly prepared for.
But she was Wednesday Addams. She had stood up to Tyler after his betrayal, faced Thornhill alone in the crypt, looked Crackstone right in the eye during the final battle without fear. She prided herself on never letting insignificant feelings like fear stop her from getting what she wanted.
And Wednesday would be appalled if she allowed herself to be defeated by something as menial as this.
Fingers twitching, she braced herself to reach out to you, but you were already moving before she could.
Her eyes followed you as you stood, abandoning your open textbook on the floor and offering her a hand. She stared at it for a moment then slowly brought her hand to yours, inhaling against the electricity that coursed through her as you pulled her to her feet. You tugged her over to her bed and laid down, pulling her down with you.
You took a moment to situate yourself into a comfortable position on your side before winding your arm around her, softly pressing her back to your chest.
Wednesday was frozen, tense in your arms as she took in the situation.
The newness of it was overwhelming in a way she couldn’t hate. Her heart raced at the sensation of having you literally wrapped around her, your hold on her waist tender and firm and entirely disruptive to her state of mind.
Any coherent string of thoughts was muddled by the feeling of your thumbs stroking her stomach, the way she could feel your chest rise against her back, the steady beat of your heart reverberating through her, contrasting her own.
“Relax, Wednesday.” Your words vibrated against her back, and she found herself complying before she even fully realized what you said.
She allowed the feeling of your all-encompassing embrace to still her turbulent thoughts, letting your warmth seep into her bones and calm the frantic beating of her heart.
Minutes passed before she dared to slip her hand down yours, interlacing her fingers with yours like she wanted to do for so long. A soft breath against her neck made her shiver.
Wednesday wanted to stay in this moment as long as possible but again, her body began to betray her. Exhaustion weighed down on her, drooping her eyelids with an alarming frequency. Staying awake was becoming more of a challenge by the second, but she was determined to escape the hold of her sudden enervation.
As if you had a sixth sense about her situation, you shifted lightly, slipping one of your legs between hers.
“Sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up,” you murmured, the light slur in your words indicating that you too were close to succumbing to the call of slumber.
“Promise?” she asked, uncaring of how childish the question was.
The soft laugh you let out tickled the hair on her neck. You tightened your hold on her waist, properly resting your forehead on the back of her head. “Yeah, I promise.”
Satisfied, Wednesday closed her eyes, the bliss of your touch being her last thought before she was finally lulled into a dreamless sleep within your embrace.

X-Men x Daughter!Reader's Dating Life
How they handle your dating life
These headcanons explore how eight famous X-Men approach being the parent of their 18-year-old daughter as she navigates the dating world.
Characters: Logan Howlett, Scott Summers, Remy LeBeau, Charles Xavier, Jean Grey, Ororo Munroe, Kurt Wagner & Emma Frost
Tumblr media
Logan (Wolverine):
- Logan has always been protective of you, and now that you're 18 and starting to date, his instincts are in overdrive. He might act gruff and nonchalant about your dating life, but the truth is, he's keeping a close eye on anyone who shows interest in you. He’s likely to have a "friendly chat" with anyone you bring home, where "friendly" means sizing them up with those intense, steely eyes of his.
- Though Logan is fiercely protective, he understands that you need to make your own choices. He won’t interfere unless he sees red flags, but if someone hurts you, his claws won’t stay sheathed for long. However, he respects your independence, and after his initial growling, he’ll gruffly tell you, "As long as they treat you right, kid, I’m good."
- Logan might not give out relationship advice freely, but he’s always there when you need him. Over a beer (or in your case, soda), he’ll tell you stories from his past, cautioning you against the kinds of people who will take advantage of your kindness. His wisdom comes in the form of rough-edged grumbles, but underneath it all, Logan just wants to see you happy and safe.
Tumblr media
Scott Summers (Cyclops):
- Scott is the definition of a dad who worries too much, especially now that you're starting to date. He’s always been structured and disciplined, and he expects the same level of responsibility from anyone you date. Before you even bring someone home, Scott’s already running scenarios in his head, calculating the safest and most responsible way to handle the situation.
- Your first serious relationship has Scott sitting you down for a long talk. He doesn’t want to come across as overbearing, but he will absolutely insist on open communication and making sure you know you can come to him for advice at any time. “I just want you to be with someone who respects you,” he’ll say, his tone firm but filled with genuine concern.
- When you bring your partner to meet him, Scott will grill them with pointed questions, but it’s all out of love. He wants to make sure they’re trustworthy, respectful, and, most importantly, that they make you happy. He’s likely to have a talk with them after the initial meeting, offering fatherly advice about how to treat you well, which is as intimidating as it is sincere.
Tumblr media
Remy LeBeau (Gambit):
- Remy is much more laid-back about your dating life than most fathers, though that doesn’t mean he’s indifferent. He trusts your judgment, knowing you’ve inherited some of his charm and wit, but he’s always got his eye on whoever you’re seeing. He’ll joke around and tease you about your dates, calling you “ma petite” and making lighthearted comments like, “If dey don’t treat you right, I might have to show ‘em a trick or two.”
- As cool and casual as Remy can seem, he’s very perceptive. He’s got a knack for reading people, so he’ll quickly figure out whether your date is genuinely good for you or just putting on a front. He won’t be overbearing, but he’ll offer subtle advice in his smooth, charismatic way. If he ever sees you upset or hurt, his easygoing demeanor fades quickly, and you’ll see a much more serious side of him.
- Remy is also the kind of dad who loves embarrassing you in front of your date—lightly, of course. He’ll turn on the charm, maybe throw out a few anecdotes about your childhood, and wink at your partner in a way that’s both friendly and intimidating. At the end of the day, though, he just wants to see you happy, and if that means letting you explore relationships while keeping a watchful eye from the sidelines, he’s all for it.
Tumblr media
Charles Xavier (Professor X):
- Charles approaches your dating life with calm wisdom, offering guidance rather than interference. He’s well aware that this stage of your life is crucial for your growth, and he trusts you to make decisions about who you choose to be with. However, that doesn’t stop him from subtly influencing the situation, making sure your partner is someone worthy of your intelligence, kindness, and strength.
- Charles would always remind you of the importance of mutual respect in relationships, giving thoughtful advice about emotional boundaries and communication. He’s more of a mentor in this area than a strict father figure, and he trusts that the lessons he’s taught you growing up will help you navigate the complexities of dating.
- When you bring someone home, Charles is unfailingly polite and gracious, but he has the ability to read your partner’s mind if he chooses to. Though he’d never do it without reason, he always ensures your safety, and if he senses any ill intent, he’ll act swiftly—discreetly handling the situation without ever letting you know he intervened.
Tumblr media
Jean Grey:
- Jean is a supportive and empathetic mother when it comes to your dating life. She knows firsthand the complexities of emotions and relationships, so she offers you guidance without being overbearing. With her telepathy, she’s keenly aware of your feelings, and while she respects your privacy, she’s always ready to listen when you need advice or comfort.
- Jean is protective, but not in a controlling way. She'll want to meet anyone you're dating and will use her intuition to gauge their character. If she senses anything off, she’ll gently let you know, but she’ll always respect your decisions. "I just want you to be happy," she’ll say with a warm smile, offering her unconditional support.
- Jean is also great at helping you navigate the emotional ups and downs of relationships. She’ll sit with you for long heart-to-hearts, sharing her own experiences with love and loss, reminding you that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. You know she’ll always be in your corner, ready to comfort you if things go wrong, and celebrate with you when things go right.
Tumblr media
Ororo Munroe (Storm):
- Ororo is a calm and nurturing mother, and that extends to how she handles your dating life. She trusts you and believes in giving you the space to make your own choices, but she’s always there when you need her. With her wisdom and serene nature, Ororo offers advice like gentle rain, never forcing her opinions on you but always guiding you in the right direction.
- When you start dating, Ororo takes the time to get to know your partner, but she’s not one to be intimidating or confrontational. Instead, she observes quietly, assessing how they treat you and making sure they respect you. If she ever feels they aren’t good enough, she’ll calmly talk to you about it, sharing her insights in a way that feels like a conversation, not a lecture.
- Ororo also encourages you to stay true to yourself. She’ll often remind you to never lose your independence or sense of self in a relationship. “Love is powerful,” she’ll tell you, “but it should never dim your light.” She’s always there to support you, whether you’re in the glow of new love or recovering from heartbreak, offering her wisdom and warmth through it all.
Tumblr media
Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler):
- Kurt is incredibly supportive and joyful when it comes to your dating life. As your father, he’s proud of the person you’ve become, and he trusts that you’ll choose someone who makes you happy. Kurt’s protective, but in a loving, non-intrusive way, often reminding you that you deserve to be treated with the same kindness and respect you give others.
- When you introduce your partner to him, Kurt is warm and welcoming, immediately putting them at ease with his charm and humor. He’s likely to engage them in conversation about faith, values, and their view on relationships, subtly making sure they’re worthy of you without being overbearing. “All I want, mein Schatz, is for you to be with someone who sees you as the blessing you are,” he’ll say, his words sincere and heartfelt.
- Kurt might surprise you by occasionally giving you romantic advice rooted in his own experiences. He’ll remind you to have faith in love but also caution you about the importance of trust and communication. He’s the type of father who’ll give you a hug and tell you how proud he is of you, whether you’re in love or learning from a breakup.
Tumblr media
Emma Frost:
- Emma is fiercely protective and a bit more direct when it comes to your dating life. She’s not one to mince words, and while she respects your autonomy, she’ll let you know exactly how she feels about the people you’re dating. Emma’s sharp instincts and telepathy give her an immediate sense of who’s worthy of your time, and she won’t hesitate to tell you if she thinks someone is beneath you.
- She wants the best for you, and while she can come across as intimidating, her concern is rooted in love. “You deserve someone who can handle all that you are, darling,” she’ll say, fully expecting your partner to live up to those high standards. If your date is anything less than impressive, Emma won’t bother hiding her disappointment, but if they earn her respect, she’ll begrudgingly give them a nod of approval.
- Despite her cool exterior, Emma is deeply invested in your happiness. If you ever come to her with heartache, she’ll comfort you in her own way—strong, practical, and brutally honest, offering advice that’s tough but necessary. She’ll remind you of your worth and push you to never settle for anything less than what you deserve, making sure you come out of every situation stronger than before.

The Princess & I : ONE
Shuri/Riri Williams | Original Characters, Namor of Talokan, Daija Hamilton, Xavier King, Sharon Williams, Bruce Banner [Alternate Universe - Gods & Goddesses][Period Typical Attitudes][Magic] [Groundskeeper!Riri] [Prequel][Fluff][Brief Sexual Content] [princess and pauper nonsense]
ao3
Summary:
At night, there was no difference between them.
Only love.
-
“Pardon me,” Riri mumbled under her breath as she squeezed passed.
The kitchen was always bustling at this time of day to prepare for the family to break their fast, but with the incoming season their workloads have increased rather dramatically. There was always silver to shine or, bins to empty, and flowers to procure. However, this season the estate needed to be immaculate inside as well as outside. No need or fancy could be left unattended.
Riri always tried to stay out of the way. She was more than aware of how displeased the morning staff would be to see her in their space. Tracking mud and despair everywhere she went, as they would claim.
It was a joke, she thinks. Though she’s become aware over the years of how most jokes hold a sliver of truth. It was far more charming when she was simply a young child following her Step-Father everywhere. Less so, to be a woman of marrying age to hold such an ‘indecent profession’.
It wasn’t entirely foreign for a woman to be a groundskeeper, but the late Duke was conservative in all respects. Groundskeepers not only tended to the physical needs of the property, but the spiritual as well. In the maintenance of their property, the wealthy could pay respects to the Gods of their choice through adherence to certain aesthetic and cardinal values. The late Duke believed that there was no need for women’s involvement in such matters, but the Master Gardner was a family friend. He took care of Riri’s family in the darkest of times and let her continue her apprenticeship.
It did not matter if his decision was mercy for a grieving child searching for any resemblance of stability or as a favor for his late friend. All Riri knew was that she was not to take further advantage of his sympathies. She would perform her nightly duties and that is all. She needs nothing more from this life than to live quietly.
Heavy boots dragged against the marbled floor as she shuffled to the servant quarters. She picked at the stale bread she had snagged from the kitchen, the pieces drying her mouth further. She hadn’t much time before exhaustion would claim her, so she didn’t bother looking for a proper meal. She passed a few of the kitchen maids heading in the opposite direction. She couldn’t help that her ear had lingered behind.
“—couldn’t believe it myself, if I’m honest, but the carriages pulled up this morning, ” the voice shared, excitement dripping from the young maid, “They say she’s a Princess.”
The older maid scoffed, “You’re imagining things, Lottie. Surely, more people would know if that was the case.”
“No, no I’m not, “ Lottie insisted, “They’ve been preparing the rooms in the West Wing—you know how stingy Her Grace can be. She’d never let just anyone stay in those rooms.”
“Well,” The older maid sniffed, “If she’s a Princess, you think she has brothers?”
The pair burst into giggles, their conversation becoming muffled as they left the hall.
Riri shook her head, paying no mind to the gossip.
Princess or not, it had nothing to do with her.
-
Riri grasped her cloak tightly, shivering in the night air. The receding winter was unwilling to make her work any easier.
Apparently, Her Grace believed the early morning frost she spotted was a poor omen of sorts. As such, the Master Gardener had tasked some of the laborers with replacing the wards placed in winter.
As such, it fell to the night shift.
On the outskirts of the garden, behind the topiaries, and past the fountain, Riri found the old shed. She’d needed a different spade since it seems as if the ones they typically used have been…eaten. The younger guards had a bit too much fun with the local wild-life, unaware that the dragon-sprites would be waking from hibernation.
Pulling out her ring of heavy keys, she squinted in the dim light trying to find the right one.
That’s when she heard it.
Riri’s breath caught. She stilled, listening closely.
Ever-so-soft footsteps approached.
Riri hooked the keys back onto her breeches, muffling the metal clanks with her glove. Then her hands slipped into her pockets, grasping the old, wood handle of her pen-knife. She hadn’t turned around, still listening as the footsteps got closer. There was no way it was one of the guards, they were notorious for their strength in arms, not in stealth. Any other night-worker would’ve announced themselves.
Steeling herself, Riri whirled around, brandishing the pen-knife.
Soon after she dropped it, stricken at the sight.
A cloaked woman, in deep purples embroidered with silver and gold.
Riri bowed without thinking. Eyes fixed on the ground, hoping her error would be ignored all things considered.
The cloaked woman observed for a moment, before raising a hand, “There isn’t any need for that now,” she said.
Her voice was soft, measured, with a faint, unknown accent that was decidedly pleasant to the ear.
Riri swallowed thickly, “I dare not insult you further.” she said.
“It is a greater insult that you will not even look at me,” The cloaked woman replied, her footsteps approaching once more, “I’m an attendant of the visiting Wakandan ambassadors. I’m only passing through, there’s no need for formalities.”
“Forgive me, but I don’t believe you. “
Riri doesn’t know what urged her mouth to keep speaking. Perhaps she wasn’t fond of living after-all.
“Oh?”
Riri shivered, a bit horrified that she couldn’t blame the night air this time.
“Won’t you look at me?”
It was a question, though from their mouth it was unmistakably an order.
And for better or for worse, Riri did look.
Before her was a woman with a slender face and dark thoughtful eyes, who’s attentions were wholly and entirely on Riri.
“Why don't you believe me?” the woman inquired with a shy smile.
Shame had always been her close companion. Even more-so with the woman standing before her seeing Riri in this state. Covered in mud, wearing breeches, and involved in an indecent profession.
“Well…” Riri averted her gaze, looking at the palm-sized leaves behind the woman instead, “Either Wakanda is far more wealthy then they’ve disclosed--because no English attendant could ever afford such garments--or you are not who you claim to be.”
It was never good to get involved in the private affairs of the wealthy, but she couldn’t refuse to answer.
However, instead of being insulted the woman laughed, delighted.
It was a brightness that broke the silence and unease easily, “Are they that expensive?” she pinched the heavy fabric of the cloak, eyebrows knitting, “I’ve seen quite a few people dressed similarly."
“The style is common, but the materials aren’t,” Riri said, “Only Royalty would be permitted to wear so much gold.” Even gold-imitations were considered to be insulting. Many merchants were jailed over the years because of their preference for the style.
“Interesting…” The woman mulled over this new-found information, “That is good to know for next time.”
“Next time? Surely you don’t plan to keep-”
“This country is quite different from my home," The woman interrupted, hands smoothing the folds of her cloak, “In speech, in clothes, food,” her nose scrunched at that, “And the expectations of an unmarried lady. It is tiresome having a chaperone with me at all times. I only wanted some fresh air by myself.”
“That does sound suffocating,” Riri agreed, “But if anyone else found you, it’d be cause for scandal.”
Unperturbed, the woman inclined her head, “But you found me,” she notes.
It was then that she recognized the look in the woman’s eye for what it was--mischief.
Riri fought back a grin, raising an eyebrow, “And who exactly did I find?”
The woman approached Riri slowly, leaning down to pick up the fallen pen-knife before extending it towards her with a smile.

Today, I experienced a rather strange and unpleasant situation. As a huge fan of the series "Wednesday" on Netflix and a supporter of the Weyler relationship, I enjoy meeting people who have also watched the series to respectfully exchange viewpoints.
It turns out that a friend introduced me to a girl, a friend of his. But she's not just any friend; in Spanish, especially in Argentina, we call these types of girls "Amiguitas," because they are not really friends but girls who are in love with a guy and are in the friendzone, yet clearly want something more.
Returning to the topic, I went to deliver some university books she needed to this girl, but from the very first moment, I noticed she gave me a cold look when my friend said, "This is Anya, and she also likes the series 'Wednesday'." I thought to myself, "She's going to be my friend."
We started talking, but she never dropped her passive-aggressive attitude towards me, although I decided to let it go. However, things took a turn when I mentioned that I ship Tyler and Wednesday, don't like Xavier, and adore the friendship between "Chica Sol and Chica Luna," referring to Enid and Wednesday.
That's when everything escalated. She started saying that for her, Wednesday is aromantic asexual and that if she had a partner, she would be a lesbian because she seems to like Enid. Furthermore, she claimed that Tyler is not a victim but the villain, and Xavier is misunderstood, and I was wrong and didn't understand the series. She even insulted me, calling me stupid.
In the face of her aggression, my friend stayed silent. Although I'm not one to confront people, this time I couldn't hold back, and I replied, "First, don't shout at me because I'm speaking to you respectfully. Second, we're talking about a teenage series on Netflix, not Marx's 'Manifesto of the Communist Party'; it's not nuclear science to understand it. If you don't see Tyler as a victim, it worries me because you don't grasp the violence an abused person experiences. As for your views on Wednesday's sexual orientation, it's okay to have a different headcanon than mine, but we should respect each other's opinions. At the moment, canonically in the series, feelings between Wednesday and Tyler have been shown."
After that, I asked my friend to let me leave that uncomfortable situation, and I departed. I feel bad for losing my temper with an 18-year-old girl when I'm 25, but her comments were too offensive. I hope we can find more constructive ways to share opinions and respect differences in the future.
Let's also remember that everyone can have their headcanons about a character, a pairing, etc. We have no right to disrespect the headcanons, ships, or opinions of others. Let's create a healthy community.

Bianca hated being a siren. All of history painted them as these seductive murderers, their voice luring thousands of men to their death. Modern media painted them as con artists, cultists, and cheaters both in bed and the entertainment industry. No matter what, they were the bad guys because of their voice. The worst part about it was that she couldn't even deny the claims. Every siren she knew before nevermore was all of what modern media portrayed, and a little bit of history.
At nevermore, however, she found that it was less true. Sure there was the occasional romance scandal, bit every highschool has those and they were actually more common within non-siren couples. There at the school, she didn't have to live with the stigma of morning song hanging over her head. She didn't have to use her voice on unsuspecting normies. She even got a necklace to block her voices powers! She thought all the bad views of sirens were behind her.
Until the rave'n.
Xavier Thorpe proved her wrong.
He had asked her to use her voice to forget a girl. He knew she hated using her voice. And yet he asked anyway. So, like the girlboss she is, she ditched him.
Option a(tons of canon, just a gay lense mostly)(accidentally made it more wenclay, but just pair it with my previous writings(which i felt happened pre Wednesday) and it's all good);
She ran into Wednesday while returning from taking a breather, she tried to take her anger out on the young goth, but the psychic just took it. It was an eventful evening.
The more eventful evening, however, was when Wednesday had asked her to use her voice. Instead of being told to use it for selfish reasons, like wealth or forgetting the pain of rejection, the Addams had asked her to use it to save people. She didn't know that was even possible. To use something so scorned and so hated by others and herself, to save people. The only two times Wednesday Addams had asked the siren to use her voice, was for the sake of others. It stunned her.
And then Wednesday was dying. She was pushed up against a broken table and dying. The rotten bigoted pilgrim was killing her. So she stabbed him. It didn't finish the job, but it gave the goth enough time to kill him. And she saw the pilgrim burst into flames and was gone. Relief had flooded her system.
They made their way back to the rest of the school, and when they got there, Enid almost tackled Wednesday to the ground in a hug. Bianca thought nothing of it, they were roommates after all. But then Wednesday reciprocated it. And Bianca found that she had very conflicting feelings about it. She would need to dig into that later.
Or, option b('she's the man' au)(again, with the previous installments of sinclay, it looks a little better);
She found Wednesday out in the hall, sulking it seemed. The young psychic didn't notice the siren sit down next to her.
"Addams"
Wednesday looks to Bianca, "Barclay"
"Trouble with your date?" Bianca is looking straight forward, not acknowledging the goths reaction except with a smirk,
"We aren't- Me and Edwin are not romantically involved"
"You sure?"
"Very"
"Then why are you pouting? Edwin go dance with another girl?" Bianca waits for a response, but none comes and she looks over to the goth. The ravenettes face is almost completely neutral, except for the slightest of furrowed brows. "Wait, for real?! He asked you to the dance, and now he's dancing with another girl!?"
"Yes, and it is none. Of. My. Concern. Or yours." The young Addams gets up to leave, but is stopped by a hand on her wrist. She immediately grabs the hand and twists, her self defense and martial arts reflexes activating. A short and intimidating(a/n, hah, like her)"Do not touch me" later and she releases her grip.
Clutching her wrist, "ow, i was just gonna recomend we dance together, a truce for the night to get back at our respective dates!" Rolling her wrist a little and then not bothering it anymore, the siren looks up slightly(a/n, hah, cause Wednesday is short) to the goth.
"Very well, that revenge sounds adequate. However, still no touching" Wednesday holds out her hand to seal the deal.
"Perfect" Bianca goes to reach her own hand out to shake, but Wednesday pulls her hand back last second.
"Like i said, no touching." And they head back into the [insert whatever the heck it's called] and go toward the dance floor.
Bianca looks around to find Xavier staring right at her, and she smirks. Xavier returns with a confused look until he realizes the two are heading toward the dance floor.
Meanwhile, Wednesday is subtly looking around for Edwin. She only finds him when she almost runs into him.
"Ah! Hey Wends! I've been looking for you!" That one remark almost makes the psychic rethink the dance with Bianca. But she made a deal, so she'll go through with the plan.
She ignores Edwin.
And so Wednesday and Bianca start dancing. Wednesday with her kooky dance, and Bianca just playing along, trying to make it look authentic. But as they say, pretend enough, and it won't be pretend.
And so Bianca started enjoying the dance. The freedom that the way Wednesday danced brought. For the first time, Bianca didn't worry about how people might see her, and just danced.
Later, during sleepless nights, she would dwell on the feelings of freedom and unfiltered joy the goth brought out from her that night, how the goth probably never even thought of asking her to use her voice to forget Edwin for the night, but now she danced and enjoyed the rest of the night.
(A/n, unless the blood(paint) rain actually happens, in which case she enjoys the night until the sprinklers turn on.)
*~*~*~*
One thing that pisses me off in movies is their sprinkler mechanics. THATS NOT HOW THEY WORK!!!! Sprinklers of the type most seen in movies and tv shows(this includes Wednesday) have a little vial of a liquid that expands a lot in heat blocking the water from getting out, when the room heats up from a fire, the liquid expands and breaks the vial with how much it expands. Meaning they go off individually when they reach that point. They do not go off all together if one is triggered! The only possible way for it to have happened in Wednesday is if the rave'n had generated enough heat to make the vials close to their breaking point and that when the fire alarm was pulled, it was just a signal for the jericho kids to start pumping the paint, thus the extra pressure in the system makes the vials break. Whew, that took a bit of energy 😅
I'm hungry now, so imma go eat something
(really love how the main points are how Wednesday didn't at all ask Bianca to use her powers, like damn girl your standards that low 😭? Just how much damage did Xavier do to you. Then again, crushes start it all sorts of odd places so once again, I love it :)
Thanks alot for the content drunken!! )
Anyways, she's the man au content
Enid knows she's sulking and she really shouldn't be but dammit there's an ache in her chest and it isn't bc she's on the risk of wolfing out.
"what's got you all sad?" yoko calls out, leaning onto the werewolf's shoulder as she player with the drink in her head.
"Wednesday ignored me," Enid murmurs, watching as the two royals of the school danced. Going in felt unappealing for some reason and so she picked at the cuffs of her polo. "normally that's fine bc it's a noisy event and she must want her space but then she went to go interact with Bianca next so I'm just confused."
Yoko squints at the fallen shoulders on her friend before huffing out a smile and chugging her drink in one go. They call it liquid courage for a reason and the vampire's eyes meet the curious look of her girlfriend.
Divina, who sat with Kent gave a thumbs up in approval. That was enough for Yoko.
"you're a dumbass Sinclair," she laughs, allowing her hand to dip from around the undercover girl's shoulders to intertwine fingers instead. "stop your sad boy nonsense and dance with me!"
Enid, quite confused at the sudden invitation let's out a woah! As they got dragged into a sudden intense waltz. It's nice! She even got to do some weird three part dance with Divina but even with all the blitz and glamor, Enid can't help but let her eyes stray to the familiar braids of someone peculiar.
She looks like she's having fun, her mind thinks, without us. The thought is painful for some reason and if her teeth catches at her lip, no one needs to know.
I'm sure Wednesday has her reasons, she'd convince herself. Besides the night isn't over yet, I'm sure we'll be able to dance eventually-
Then Yoko laughs when Enid's feet caught in her own shoe laces and those worries lessen just a tad. Right, this was supposed to be a night of enjoyment not worry. Wednesday is having fun, that's what matters.
If they can't dance then so be it.
It's fine, she thinks, If Wednesday wants to dance with someone for a bit then so can I.
They never do get to dance that night, not when a prank cuts it off so early.
Enid wonders why she's so broken up over it.

X-Men Movie Tier List Update- X-Men: First Class
Set in the swingin' 60s, this film covers the origins of Charles' idea for the X-Men, but this is also more of an origin to Erik as Magneto as well, and the whole relationship between Charles and Erik is the strongest part of this movie. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles and Erik respectively, and both did a great job in these portrayals, especially with the ladder. Any scene involving them just talking to each other are just the best parts of it all. From their first meeting outside Shaw's yacht with Charles telling Erik, "We're not alone," to that spectacular scene of Charles encouraging Erik to not just focusing on anger in using his powers when attempting to turn the huge satellite dish towards them.
Seeing how they develop into the characters we see during the first X-Men movie is great, starting with how Xavier wants coexistence between humans and mutants, but there is still the fact he wants them to be secret and not out with the public, while Erik wants to be more upfront about their existence with wanting to start outright conflicts with them, and the best character that shows this aspect has to be with Raven/Mystique.
Now, I'm aware that some people don't like how the new X-Men movies post Origins have more of a focus towards Raven, but I honestly like how these movies portray her. She first starts out with her human form and throughout the most part of the movie, since that is still the form that Charles prefers her to stay in public compared to her true-blue form, still wanting to keep it as a secret. Erik on the other hand wants Raven to be in her true form as it is the real her, not just some fake image that she has to keep. Hank also does a great job in showing this theme. Hank and Raven seem to hit it off well in the first place, until Hank introduces her the cure for them to look more human, which has Raven doubts herself on wanting look human and decides to not only declining the cure but is a crucial step towards her final decision of staying with Erik and his new brotherhood at the end of the movie (and a way better showing of her compared to TLS).
Hank is a good character here, played well by Nicholas Holt (who will be Lex Luthor in James Gunn's Superman movie next year, so can't wait for that!) and, previously mentioned, is a great part on the themes of the movie. Even though his only deformity is his feet where he can just simply wear shoes to hide it, he wants to create a cure where he can look more normal to people, only for it to backfire, essentially changing everything about him physically to Beast. This actually starts an arc that goes beyond this film into his way of accepting this new form.
The new characters are pretty good too. I like Moira's character in accepting these mutants and how they help in stopping the Hellfire Club, and it's cool to see Banshee in this, although I am disappointed how they're both not Irish in this movie. Come on, where's the Irish representation? (Note: I'm not Irish) It's also cool to see Alex/Havik here since it's always great to see the Summers brothers here and its nice to see an arc where he starts being a bit harsh towards Hank, before being nicer to him. Angel, who is not Warren but a different character here who is also named Angel, however I have heard she is also called Pixie as an alternate name for her, unless I'm mistaken. So, Angel 2 here is alright, even though she joins the Hellfire Club to become the new femme fetale member after Emma Frost was imprisoned by the CIA. Darwin has a cool ability, but it does suck that he died early on, but atleast he went out trying to take out Shaw while still protecting Angel 2. It is messed up how the only black mutant out of the new mutants in the movie is killed off, while the rest are still alive at the end.
Now the Hellfire Club is here are good, but Kevin Bacon did a great job in playing Sebastian Shaw and is a notable part of the group. The whole plot of Shaw wanting to start World War 3, so that the U.S. and the Soviet Union to use nukes to create more mutants and take over the world by actually making the Cuban Missile Crisis happen is a great case of alternate history in superhero films I haven't seen much, with the only one off the top of my head being in Watchmen. It's also great to just have Kevin Bacon be here, pretty much one of my favorite actors.
And of course, there's that cameo scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Probably my favorite cameo scene ever!
There is a bit of a continuity error between this and TLS, where Charles and Erik were together when meeting Jean for the first time, but its TLS so who cares.
Tumblr media
First Class is a great film that takes my second favorite X-men movie slot, surpassing the first film, but still falling short against X2. Next up, we follow Logan post-TLS, still mourning Jean, as he heads to Japan in The Wolverine.

The Scent of Roses - Part 9
Tumblr media
Fanfiction_X-Men
Fictober 2023_Prompt 4: “Do you even know what this means?”
.......
Hank sat in a plush wingback chair across from Charles Xavier’s large, ornate desk, recalling when this room had been used for storage in some of Charles’ less productive years. He still found it impressive how far they’d come all these years later; so much success after so much struggle and loss.
“Do you ever dream about her?” Charles asked, touching a framed photo on his desk with tentative fingers. Hank didn’t have to see the picture to know who was in it, and yes, he missed her, too. Mystique had been a force in both their worlds, and while they weren’t always on the same side she’d always carried a piece of his heart.
“Sometimes. Less so now, but sometimes.”
“Hmmm.” Charles murmured thoughtfully. “The students enjoyed your impromptu open forum with Sabrina today.” His eyes flickered up to Hank’s. “Sabrina, on the other hand…,” he let his words dangle, and Hank sighed, raking a clawed hand through his thick, blue hair.
“I may have pushed a bit too hard,” he admitted.
Charles’ chair clicked and whirred as he moved from behind his desk to sit next to Hank. “What exactly are your intentions, Hank? Have you thought this through?”
“I think everything through, Charles,” Hank quipped, rubbing a thumb over his lower lip. He looked up, eyes pensive. “I’ve been informed by multiple sources I’ve been quite the fool for many, many years.” Charles quirked an eyebrow and gave a deft nod. “Why didn’t you ever tell me?”
The older man shrugged. “It wasn’t for me to share. Besides, when Sabrina came here she was far too young for you – legally and logistically. I assumed her childhood crush would fade, but her affections only deepened despite her efforts.”
Hank’s brow furrowed. “Efforts?”
“Warren. Kurt. Leaving here. Have you bothered to discuss any of this with her?”
Hank shook his head, continuing to worry his lower lip. “Every time I try it ends poorly.”
“I see.” Charles nodded. “Well, let’s put this on hold and discuss the more pressing matter. What did the President have to say?” Charles listened intently as Hank caught him up on all the details – what he thought was true, what was mouth service, and the bits he still had to think through.
“I’ve been asked to compile my own team – people I know and trust with the proper credentials, and go check this information out for myself. I’m reviewing files for recommended personnel this evening, and should have my team by the end of the week. The sooner, the better.”
“And you wish to take Sabrina?”
“Sabrina and Jean, preferably. Their skills would be an exceptional benefit, and their resumes are respectable for this mission. Did you have other thoughts?” He crossed his legs, leaning on the arm of the chair intently to hear Charles’ recommendations.
“I think they’re excellent choices, but I admit I am concerned – is there a chance this cure may be used on you during this examination? Without your consent?”
Hank sucked in a deep breath. “The thought had occurred to me, yes. However, I think that would be far too inflammatory for their cause. I anticipate full cooperation, and perhaps even a bit of schmoozing on their part.”
Charles nodded. “Very well. But if anything should seem off,” he began.
“I’ll call for backup, of course.” Hank stood. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m in desperate need of a shower and a hot meal.” This drew a chuckle from his friend and mentor.
“Of course. Oh, and Hank?” The younger man turned back to look at him. “Talk to Sabrina. Sooner, rather than later.”
……
The smell from the dining hall was enough to make Sabrina’s mouth water. She’d had a long day of classes, then Danger Room training with Scott and a handful of younger students, and she was absolutely famished. Most nights she’d take her plate to her room, the gardens, or even the library for a bit of quiet, but Danger Room training left her feeling antsy and anxious. She found conversations and distractions from the students helped settle her.
“How’d the kids do today?” Jean asked as Sabrina slid into a chair next to her. “Scott said you were going to be tackling introductory training.”
The blonde nodded, sighing. “I think all the fear and anxiety of this cure makes it a bit more essential now. If we can help them control their powers, especially in stressful situations, it will give them a sense of control and empowerment.” She stabbed a green bean, and stared at it with delight. “I love when Miss Abbie makes her green beans.”
“They need to feel safe,” Ororo added, joining them. “Anything we can do to encourage that will help.” She shot Sabrina a sly grin. “Which reminds me: I heard you had an interesting guest in class today.”
“Oh?” Jean tilted her head to the side, eyes twinkling. “Do tell.”
Sabrina rolled her eyes. “It’s just Hank working through his breakup with Trish, and using me as his rebound.”
Jean frowned, pursing her lips. “I don’t recall Hank ever rebounding before. You?” She asked Ororo.
“Nope,” the storm goddess replied, taking a bite of her own green beans, smiling the whole time.
“So then, it’s what?” Sabrina asked, cutting her Salisbury steak with irritation. “Because I find it hard to believe he suddenly looked up and saw me as a love interest.” She hacked at her food a bit harder. “He never noticed before,” she grumbled.
“Age gaps are a much bigger deal when you’re younger,” Jean said, watching Sabrina’s fork and knife with a touch of concern. “You really should talk to him about – Sabrina, I think it’s dead,” she said, stilling the utensils with her mind.
Sabrina froze, then shot her friend a perturbed glance. “I hate it when you do that.” Jean chuckled, turning to her own plate. “And just what am I supposed to say to him?” Sabrina asked, stabbing a piece of meat and bringing it to her lips. “Yeah, that make-out session was hot, but until you know what you want keep your distance?”
“Sounds good to me,” Ororo affirmed, lifting her water to her lips.
Sabrina frowned, staring at her food, then putting her fork back down. “I’m just finding it hard to believe someone like him would want someone like me. That’s all.”
The older women stopped, exchanging glances of concern. “Why?” Ororo prompted.
Sabrina held up her gloved hands. “Most men don’t like it when you’re privy to all their thoughts, feelings, and memories.”
“Kurt didn’t seem to mind,” Jean said softly. She knew better than to bring up Warren.
Sabrina smiled at the thought of the transporting mutant. “Kurt was a dear, and we were young. It would probably be different now. I mean, I’m sure now he’d expect...I mean,” she swallowed hard, waving a hand in the air. “It’s just I…,” she trailed off, blushing deeply.
“If you’re referring to a physical relationship,” Jean began, knowing full well it was exactly what Sabrina was talking about. “Then regardless of age your comfort and consent are still necessary. I don’t think Hank, or Kurt for that matter, would ever push you out of your comfort zone.”
Sabrina squirmed in her seat, refusing to meet her friend’s eyes. “Warren did.” Jean bit her lip. There it was. Warren had loved Sabrina, but he’d struggled with her powers, her limitations, and her comfort in a number of areas. She knew he’d used Hank as an excuse when he broke up with the blonde, and it was not a shining moment for him. “I guess I can’t blame him. When you love someone,” she started.
“...you respect their wishes,” Ororo finished, her eyes hard. She remembered the breakup as well as Jean. Sabrina nodded, stabbing at her food again, and trying hard to ignore the tears pricking at the back of her eyes.
“Professor Snow?” Sabrina’s head jerked up. Kitty was standing next to her looking hesitant and misplaced. “I’m sorry to interrupt, but I…,” she held our an envelope to the older woman. “Dr. McCoy asked me to deliver this to you.” She shrugged and chuckled nervously. “Probably an apology for crashing class today, right?”
Sabrina forced herself to smile, nodding as she carefully took the envelope. “Thank you, Kitty.”
The younger woman nodded, turning and headed back to her table. Jean and Ororo didn’t say anything, but they watched the letter with curious eyes. Sabrina ran her gloved fingers over the sides of the letter, touching the corners carefully, as if they would prick her fingers. She thought about taking her gloves off, and consuming all the letter had to offer, but she opted against it, took a deep breath, and broke the seal.
My dearest Sabrina,
I must apologize for my brash behavior today – both this morning in the kitchen, and later in your classroom. I’m afraid I haven’t been myself as of late. Strange and unfamiliar feelings have consumed me, and at the heart of it all lies you.
Sabrina Fair, please let us converse on whatever is transitioning betwixt the two of us. I am afraid I have unnerved you or given you cause for trepidation, and if this is so I wish to atone. You have always been dear to me, and I would be crestfallen if I caused you pain.
Would you meet me tonight in the library after lights out? I would be forever thankful for the opportunity.
Yours,
Hank
Sabrina stared at the letter, blinking. “Wha….what?” She asked softly, clutching the paper, reading and rereading. “Seriously, what?”
Jean and Ororo exchanged glanced again. “Sabrina?”
“I don’t….I don’t understand,” the younger woman said, looking up at them. It was clearly Hank’s handwriting, and only Hank would use the word ‘betwixt’. But the letter…well, the letter seemed almost, kinda, sorta like a love letter. Or the potential for love, anyway. “Here.” She shoved the letter at Jean, eyes wide, thoroughly confused. “I don’t understand. Do you even know what this means?”
Jean’s eyes narrowed as she scanned the lines of the letter, a slow, happy smile spreading across her face. “Oh, Sabrina, yes,” she said, nodding, and handing the letter back to the blonde. “Yes, I know what the letter means.”
Sabrina blinked, still in a state of utter shock and confusion. “Well?”
“It means,” Ororo said, scooping up some mashed potatoes and grinning at her younger friend. “Hank finally has a crush on you.”

So, I have a bit of a fondness for TTS, however, there's been something I've been thinking about recently that I have a bit of a problem with in regards to the show.
In my Celestial Garments AU, there are a lot of POC/POC-coded characters (my biracial ass just can't help it), and when that's the case, I like to double check for harmful tropes by browsing the @/writingwithcolor blog. But whilst doing that and working out the relationships between one of my Black woman characters and Raps, I realized something unfortunate about the show.
While I love multiple of the POC characters we get in the show, I noticed that they perpetuate various unpleasant and negative stereotypes, and some of these tropes even bring down the quality of the show by not doing more with certain characters.
Let's go over each of the POC shown in the series, and analyze if/how they feel into racist tropes:
Xavier:
I love this man, since I like wise, mysterious characters like him. But unfortunately, he is 100% a Magical Negro. Half the time, it feels like he is only there to provide wisdom, advice, and exposition for our white protagonists. And that makes me kinda sad, since you could do a lot more with him, even in very subtle ways. Maybe better show how he is a legitimately respected pillar of the community, and don't always have him go out of his way to help. Instead, he'll just be doing his own thing most of the time, or priorities his fellow commonfolk.
But sadly, in canon, that is not the case. Instead, he mainly just pops up to help the white people. We barely know anything about him as a person or his backstory, nor does he have an arc of his own. He's just the wise old guy who's often delegated to being a plot device rather than a fleshed out character.
Lance:
This disappointed me so bad. Personality wise, I don't see too many problems with how Lance is written, though I could be mistaken. But narratively? Oh boy.
Lance is considered a "major character" and member of the main cast, being present in all three seasons and often accompanying the main group. And yet, somehow, he gets very few singing rolls (despite having an amazing voice), no real arc of his own, and very little time in the spotlight.
Cass has a whole song about "waiting in the wings," but Lance is the true one constantly waiting in the wings. I don't even remember an episode that's all about him. He has room for depth, and yet it's never explored.
He also, to my dismay, is constantly regulated to the "Black best friend" roll more often than not despite having so much potential. What is he often described as? Well, he's Eugene's best friend. That's essentially how he was introduced as in his debut. He's a sidekick, and we never really get to seem him lead during their times together. They are supposed to be partners in crime, and yet we mainly see Eugene taking charge, Eugene coming up with the plans, Eugene telling Lance what to do, Eugene getting the final hit in.
It's never Lance who goes first or makes a plan. I'm fine with characters being more followers than leaders, but in terms of duos, I think they should both be able to lead each other.
Honestly, the fanfic writers are better to him than the show ever was. There are fanfics in which he supports Varian and hangs out with Varian, Catalina, and Kiera, but in those, even when he's supporting Varian, there will be a large part exploring how his backstory has caused him to react this way. He gets depth and emotional intelligence and appreciation from the author and readers.
The show rarely explores his strengths and instead chooses to show his weaknesses and flaws, and whilst characters having flaws is great, you need to balance it out a little. The fandom knows that he has some amazing qualities, but the show never highlights that the way they do for the rest of the main cast.
The only times Lance gets to shine is when he's in a fanfic, and that makes me really fucking sad. And even then, part of his role is to support other people. Whilst I love Varian-Lance friendships in fics, it makes me sad that Lance never gets supported. He's always forced to take care of other people, and I have yet to find any fics where Lance is getting lifted up rather than doing the lifting.
It's just really disappointing and noticeable that they mainly do this to the only MOC in the main cast.
Adira:
If how Lance was handled made me feel bad, it is nothing in comparison to the immeasurable disappointment I feel in regards to how Adira was handled.
She was one of the most interesting characters in the series, to the point that I would 100% want a spinoff just about her travelling around and doing stuff. Many in the fandom have even called her the best character in the show, and I can see why. Which honestly makes how they treated her narratively much worse.
Adira clearly had her own personal goals and backstory, but she is still regulated to being the "mysterious Asian mentor". And worse off, her whole role in the series is to guide the white main character around and support her journey. Adira's whole (barely even finished) arc revolves around Rapunzel, and it feels disappointing. She has so much potential, but she is constantly forced to revolve around the white lead.
And once Adira starts having her own stuff (like the thing with Hector), she's quickly taken out of the story again. And then they don't even manage to finish her plotline properly. She has so much potential, and yet she's constantly being pushed aside.
Kiera:
Not completely stereotypical, which is good. I can't think of any stereotypes she fits into, though it does feel a bit weird that her red-head sister gets an episode around her, whilst Kiera doesn't. But at least she's pretty well written (in my opinion). But, I might be mistaken on the lack of stereotypes, so if any Asian folks have anything to say on her, please add more in the replies/reblogs.
The Separatists of Saporia:
Oh Saporia, you poor, underexplored concept. You had so much potential and were so intriguing, and yet this happened to you.
Other folks have commented on the antisemitic aspects of the Separatists and how they are designed, and since I am not Jewish, I can't exactly comment on that much. But I will believe people on that, and even then, I myself have some complaints to make.
Andrew's race/ethnicity is hard to pinpoint (racial ambigious character alert), but he clearly has a lot of ethnic features and there is no way in hell that he is white. And what is this character's main trait? He is a terrorist who has enslaved an entire kingdom. Not a good look for one of our few MOC in the series.
Juniper is one of the only Black woman in the show, and not only does she have little to no speaking lines, but she is also a violent terrorist and seems to fit the "Angry Black Woman" stereotypes, at least from what I remember. She at least always looks pissed off, which is...a choice.
Kai is a large, dark skinned man who is also part of this group of terrorists. A "Scary BIPOC Man", if you will. Great...out of the few brown/black men we have in this show, basically all of them are either big and muscular, or soldier/warriors. That's nice...
So, out of our very small cast of POC, three of them are terrorists. Fun.
Ruthless Ruth:
She is one of the two Black woman in the series, and god am I disappointed. Literally a "Strong Black Woman", and a violent "barbarian" at that. This hurts my soul. I just- I just can't. I can't deal with this shit. Two out of two of the Black women in the show are violent criminals. Why? Just....why?
Captain Quaid:
This guy is only in one episode, and he seems okay to me. I can't remember too much about him, though, so I can't say for sure. If anyone has any comments on him, please mention them in the replies.
Fernanda Pizazzo:
Not sure how to feel about her, but she's giving me "Romani Fortune Teller" vibes, in like, a bad way. I'm not sure how to describe it, but it's there.
Madame Canardist:
I thought Fernanda was bad, and then I saw this character. Holy fuck.
If there is an outline for how to write an offensive caricature of Romani folks, I'm pretty sure some of the crew read it and used it verbatim for writing her. It would almost be hilarious how stereotypical it is, if not for the fact that this portrayal is deeply harmful. -1000/10, very icky no good.
~~~~~~~~~
So, yeah, I mostly love this show, but the way the characters of color are written/designed is very bad and harmful. They are always either caricatures, bad tropes, or have their potential wasted in order to support the white leads. I hate it, and it adds yet another gripe I have with the show.
I just think it's very important to always acknowledge as a fandom the racism in the show. I'm just glad that the fans are better at writing the show than the showrunners, since ya'll have improved a lot of this stuff in your fanfics and stuff.
I'm not sure exactly how to end this post, I just felt the need to make it, especially the parts about how the narrative handled Xavier, Lance, and Adira. They deserved better.
James Madison: 2024 Sun Belt Men's Basketball Champions
Tumblr media
The old adage of "a tale of two halves" in a basketball game usually carries some sort of conotation.
That saying implies a team might've had a rough first half, finding itself down and out. Then, said team comes back to life in the second frame, erasing any deficit, and is victorious against its opponent.
But for the James Madison University men's basketball team, only one thing is certain: the Dukes were never going to lose that game. Though, it still was two different halves for James Madison, showing off some of its star-studded talent as well as a deep bench.
The Dukes ran by Arkansas State, 91-71, in the Sun Belt Men's Basketball Championship on Monday at the Pensacola Bay Center, punching James Madison's automatic ticket to the NCAA Tournament. James Madison will learn its seed and opponent come Sunday during the Selection Show.
"When I took over the job, I didn’t know when, where or at what point. But I knew we were going to get it. It takes a special group like this to finish the deal," James Madison head coach Mark Byington said. "Just a great tournament. I’m more excited to take these guys to the next one. We don’t have to wait until Selection Sunday to see if we’re in. We know we’re in. And we’re dancing.”
The first half saw James Madison's Xavier Brown take over the game. He scored 21 of the Dukes' 42 first-half points, and Arkansas State still was hanging around a bit. James Madison took a 10-point lead into halftime.
A 3-pointer from Noah Freidel followed by a jump shot from Terrence Edwards seemed to throw Arkansas State out of rhythm. That's when the Dukes pounced, going on small bursts to coast to victory.
It was in the second frame where James Madison's depth came alive, and several players contributed.
"I thought we were playing basketball the right way. We were finding the guy who was hot in the first half. The second half, we had more assists. Noah made a shot in the second half and got us going," Byington said. "We started rolling after that. If you would’ve heard our guys in the huddle, it was a player-led team today. Their voices were strong and positive with belief in each other. There was no way we were going to let this game get away tonight. There was absolutely no way possible. We were going to win, no matter what.”
James Madison is now riding a 13-game win streak into the NCAA Tournament. However, it's not the longest of their season. The Dukes started the year off with a 14-game win streak.
Either way, James Madison is heading to the national stage with some confidence, having not lost since a tight 82-76 loss to App State on Jan 27.
“I felt like people forgot about us. We were on an incredible win streak, and we weren’t fading. We were battling and everything else. I knew we would take care of business down here," Byington said. "This was their mission. They were solely focused on this tournament. It’s not like we were asking for respect. But you can stamp it on us now."
This story will be updated.
ACN mobilizes aid for immediate needs in Syria
Tumblr media
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) will be providing at least $530,000 in immediate aid to Christians in Syria in the wake of the devastating earthquake that killed more than 20,000 thousand people in that country and in neighboring Turkey.
Given the many years of war and the economic collapse of Syria, the organization already had projects in place and partners on the ground in cities such as Aleppo and Lattakia, which have considerable Christian communities and which were badly affected by the quake.
As Felipe d’Avillez reported; The most important project, however, has to do with helping people get back to their homes as quickly as possible. For this, however, it is necessary for the houses to be surveyed by engineers, to make sure there is no risk of collapse.
Fortunately, according to Xavier Stephen Bisits, the nine different Christian churches that are present in Aleppo have an excellent working relationship and have already taken the lead in this respect.
“On Wednesday night the Synod of Catholic bishops met in Aleppo and assembled a team of engineers who are going to start assessing the damage to the houses of the Christian families, and the approximate cost to repair each one, and this is something I hope ACN can help with, and we fully expect to be able to do it in a very professional way. The Orthodox bishops will also be engaged and send representatives or participate in these discussions to make sure our help includes all the Churches.”
Finally, ACN is also in touch with the Joint Committee of Aleppo, a body representing all Churches, to help fund a project to cover the costs of renting houses for the families whose buildings suffered more extensive damage, or were destroyed, and who will have to wait weeks, if not months, to find a new home or move back to their own, when restored.
Tumblr media
The earthquake in Syria can best be described as a tragedy within a tragedy. More than a decade of war, along with a pandemic and more recently a crushing financial crisis, had already left the population in despair. To many, the earthquake felt like the last straw.
However, there have been some unexpected consequences as well, and some Syrians say that they are seeing demonstrations of unity and solidarity that had not been witnessed since the beginning of the war.
Because of the difficulty of access for international organizations to Syria, much of the aid at this point seems to be locally directed: Syrians who themselves are living in poverty gathering whatever resources they can to help other Syrians. “After 12 years of war, people had been unable to give much, but now all the people are donating for the displaced.”
Many of those who were able left the most affected cities for other places. Father Fadi Azar, a Catholic priest from Lattakia, where eight Christians were killed, was preparing to do just that after the earthquake. “We had initially thought of leaving Latakia as well, but we found many people who had come to our parish, including many who did not have cars, and they had come to shelter in our church, so we decided to stay with them. A lot of young men and women from our parish have been helping us,” he reported.
The priest has also seen signs of solidarity among the people. “We were deeply moved when one of the parishioners we usually help came today with some loaves of bread to offer others. We all must help each other at this time,” he concluded.
Shooting
Word count: 2.0K
Summary: a free shooter is in Nevermore, and when you realize who it is you won’t be so Happy and you’ll be traumatized.
Warnings: the title says it all
Pairing: Wednesday X Fem!Reader
I got this idea watching “The Fallout” but decided to switch it up a bit, I hope you like it the same way I did!
———
“Hey Nes, are you coming to school today?” You asked your girlfriend. Recently she had been going in town a lot to solve some things with this whole monster stuff and even though you wanted to go with her, she specifically asked you not to get involved because she didn’t want to see you hurt, and you respected her wishes so you never insisted again. “No I am not, I’m going to weathervane to find out more stuff with Tyler” you nodded at her words as you both headed to the quad. You had to admit you were kind of jealous of the fact that she was spending more time with him than with you, but you knew it was just to find out about the truth.
“Okay, be safe though okay?” You asked her as you looked protectively at your girlfriend “you too. Don’t go in the woods” she said and you nodded before watching her leave with a car. Then you headed to your botany class and started listening to Mrs. Thornhill, until you noticed that Xavier wasn’t in class. Weird you thought, he was always present. However the lesson went by smoothly and at some point you needed to go to the bathroom. As you were heading there you heard a noise. At first it seemed like a phone that had dropped, but then it continued and you realized it was gunshots. Someone had entered Nevermore with a gun and was now shooting on students.
You froze where you were as you heard students start screaming and running around. Just then you realized, you needed to hide. As the shooter was getting closer to you, and you could tell that by the sound of it, you thought that if he was an outsider he wouldn’t find you if you went in nightshade. Right? You quickly ran to the poe statue and you snapped twice, immediately going down there. You were crying, you were panicking so hard and you just wanted to be with Wednesday Right now, luckily though she wasn’t there so she couldn’t get hurt, this was probably the only bonus. “Fuck, fuck fuck” you kept repeating in fear. No one was there except from you, not even the nightshade’s members. Were they all dead already? You hoped not.
You sat there on the floor with you knees up to your chest, hands covering your ears as you cried, waiting for him to just stop shooting around. You could still hear people screaming in fear and it was getting to you too much. Suddenly though you heard the secret door of Nightshade open and you stood up, hoping it was just someone coming to hide, but you heard the noise of the gun. You couldn’t hide, it was a circular library and the only exit was the door. “Well who do we have here?” You immediately recognized the voice, it was Xavier. He was looking like a psycho, gun in his hand and creepy smirk on his face.
“X-Xavier… why are you doing this to people?” You asked him. You were scared as hell but you were there now. You could either die or try talk some sense into him. You decided for the second option. “You? Because I’m tired of you people bragging around about your powers” he said and walked closer to you, you walked backwards in response and soon hit the library. “Please- don’t hurt me” you said crying and sobbing, but he wasn’t having any of it. “You thought that if you hid in nightshade no one would find you, right? Well that’s where you were wrong, (Y/N). This is the worst place to hide and there’s no exit beside the door” he said as he got closer to you, and you were stuck between him and the library, gun pointed at your stomach.
“Please Xavier… I’m your friend, remember?” You said sobbing, you were one step away from death, all it took was for him to pull the trigger. “Are you? I just used you to get close to everyone else so that I could do this” he brought the gun up to your throat” you stayed quiet at that, only whimpering and crying. You didn’t want to die. You were so young still and had your whole life ahead of you “Xay please…” you said whispering. “STOP BEGGING ME” he pressed the gun even more to your throat, you knew he was about to shoot, but then police showed up, thanks to Weems that had seen Xavier get in nightshade.
“Drop the gun!” Sheriff Galpin said. He immediately pulled away from you and dropped the gun, the police hand cuffing him as you tried to catch your breath, going into a panic attack as you dropped to your knees. Weems came to you when Xavier was taken away and helped you to your feet. “You’re safe (Y/N), it’s okay, you’re okay” she said and brought you up and out of nightshade. She took you to her office and gave you a hot chocolate to calm you down. She tried to make you talk to her, but you were refusing to as you were too shocked. She then took you to your room and once there you laid in bed and curled up under the blankets .
———
Wednesday arrived back at school and saw police cars parked in front of the entrance, as well as ambulances and dead bodies. She started feeling a little scared as she looked to the bodies hoping not to see you in between them and luckily you weren’t, and you weren’t even in the ambulances. She walked up to Sheriff Galpin “what happened here?” She asked him as she looked around. “There was a shooting in the school. It was a student from Nevermore.” This made Wednesday even more scared as she ran inside the school and up to your room. She really hoped you were okay. She was panicking, she wondered if you were alright.
As soon as she got to your rook she blasted the door open to see if you were there and safe, and you flinched at the noise, getting under the blankets even with your head as you squeezed shut your eyes, not having seen who it was coming in your room. “Please don’t hurt me” you said sobbing. Wednesday slowly got closer to you and spoke softly “(Y/N) it’s me. It’s Wednesday” she told you but you were still in a shock state and couldn’t help but be scared at the first loud sound you heard. You were even too scared to realize that she was the one talking to you. “(Y/N)” she repeated, gently putting a hand on your shoulder. You flinched even more, in your head you were still in that room with Xavier. Wednesday pulled back from you and decided it would be better if she left you alone, as of now she was just glad to see you were okay.
She also went to check if her friends were okay, luckily they were but when she heard about Xavier being the shooter, she got shocked as well, she would have never thought that he’d be so dangerous. She went to Enid to ask for Clarification about why you were so scared, luckily your friend as well wasn’t in school that day. “Enid, do you know what happened to (Y/N)? I mean, does it have to do with Xavier, did he hurt her?” Your girlfriend asked her friend protectively. “Didn’t she tell you?” Enid asked. You were her girlfriend after all, you should have told her. Wednesday shook her head “she hasn’t let me get close to her, I think she was in a state of shock. She kept repeating not to hurt her and she flinched when I touched her trying to comfort her” Wednesday looked down, it sounded even worst now that she said it.
“Well she was hiding in nightshade and of course Xavier found her.. he clearly told her he used her and he made her go back to the wall where he kept her stuck there and pointed the gun in her stomach, only to move it up to her throat to threaten her even more” now Wednesday was furious. She didn’t seem like it, but she was very protective over her girlfriend. “I’m going to kill him. I’m going to make him suffer so bad that he will even regret being born” Wednesday said furiously, but she calmed down a little when Enid told her he had been arrested.
Days passed by and you still hadn’t left your room or the bed. Wednesday would pass by every day leaving you some food since you weren’t eating, but you weren’t eating any. You had stopped flinching whenever you heard her since you had kinda gotten out of the shock state, but still you were too scared to even get out of the blankets. “(Y/N), you need to eat a little,” she sat down at the end of your bed “you’re starving yourself” you still weren’t replying, she sighed and looked down. “I just need you to be okay…” she whispered and her look turned to a sad one. It was like this for some other days until you did get up to eat something, but only when you were alone in your room.
Recently Wednesday had been sleeping in the same room as you, she wasn’t going to give up on you just because you were scared. She wasn’t the type to give up for anything. You had tried to sleep, but you were constantly having nightmares about that day, nightmares that woke you up each night and that would traumatize you all over again. “(Y/N), is it okay if I sleep with you? I just don’t want you to sleep alone and I want you to feel protected…” Wednesday asked you about the millionth nightmare that week. You looked at her and eventually nodded slightly and soon after your girlfriend was in your bed, spooning you as she wrapped an arm over you, bringing you closer to her as she also held your hand.
You fell asleep soon after. You did feel safe in your girlfriend’s arms, and you slept soundly for at least a couple hours, until you woke up screaming, because of another nightmare. Obviously Wednesday woke up too and she immediately searched for her eyes. “Hey, hey it’s okay” she said and looked at you “why don’t you tell me about those nightmares?” Your girlfriend asked gently and you looked at her. God you were so glad to have her… “I-I dream about that day… I see people die but tonight… tonight I saw you get shot at… Nes it was so horrible…” you been crying again and she held you close to her, letting you cry on her shoulders. “It’s okay, I’m safe. He can’t get to us anymore…” she pulled back and saw you were looking around scared, and she put a hand on your cheek to make you look at her.
“I’ll repeat this as many times as you want, I’ll sleep with you as many times as you want. We’re okay now. Nothing or no one is going to hurt me or you because we’re safe now. But I’m gonna need you to get better, because as much as I love seeing people suffer, seeing you suffer is horrible so please, get better for me” you nodded at her words and hugged her.
Craig's 2 Main Ships
OK, First off, Happy Summer!
We are halfway through season 4 of Craig Of The Creek. A lot of stuff has happened over the past few episodes, including the quest for Kenneth's Cube. Storylines are advancing, Character arcs are progressing, and relationships are becoming more and more official. The second half of season 4 starts this July. So before the CraigBomb arrives, I'd like to take closer look at where Craig's story is headed in terms of shipping.
I'm going to focus on the 2 girls in the show that have been shipped the most with Craig Williams.
Tumblr media
Vanessa AKA, "Wildernessa"
Tumblr media
Eileen AKA, "Sewer Queen"
Both ships have grown more prominent with subtle hints and were the only two ships directly mentioned by Cartoon Network via social media or otherwise. I've reviewed every episode involving Craig's direct interactions with Wildernessa and Sewer Queen respectively. Both girls have exhibited immense potential recently.
Tumblr media
Wildernessa
Wildernessa started her character arc as one of Craig's rivals. In her debut episode, not many saw her as a possible ship for Craig, since she constantly belittled him for "not knowing a thing about animals." In fact, her warriors spirit and dedication to protecting wildlife made her catch the eye of Kelsey in earlier seasons before Kelsey and Stacks were made official in "Fire & Ice".
In "Ferret Quest" her teasing of Craig had turned somewhat more playful, which in turn frustrated Craig. Although, he does seem to care about what Wildernessa thinks of him, as he felt that catching the ferret was the best chance he had to prove himself to her.
It wasn't until "Breaking The Ice" that we see the most character development out of this ship. Wildernessa is basically a tsundere, she only acted mean to Craig hide her true feelings. Even as Craig acted kindly towards her in the playhouse, she couldn't help but push him away. Turns out, It's with good reason. She was bullied by other kids in school which made her develop this deep seeded distrust in people. She uses her negative attitude towards Craig as more of a defense mechanism to avoid getting too close to him, in fear of him victimizing her as well. However, she underestimated Craig's honesty. When he called her out, this convinced to her to bring down some her walls, this lead to a mission to change herself for the better. Even her dog knew that Craig deserved to be trusted. She always thought Craig didn't know anything about animals, but it turned out, she didn't know anything about Craig. At least, not until now.
"Craignessa" or "Crildernessa" Quickly gained notoriety from Cartoon Network itself and viewers alike following that episode.
The "Capture The Flag" arc saw Wildernessa's changes come full circle. She took Craig's side against Xavier throughout the 5 part special. Wildernessa kept on supporting Craig however she could, all the way up to the pivotal moment where she sacrificed herself for Craig in the game, before attempting to confess her feelings for him. It's hard to tell if Craig caught onto her confession, but he was without a doubt surprised and saddened to see his former rival freeze solid to protect him.
Tumblr media
Sewer Queen
The Sewer Queen has been a possible ship for Craig since the show's pilot back in 2017. She's a strong, confident leader, who likes nothing more than to encourage her subjects and help them with their problems, something that Craig has great admiration for. It may seem one sided coming from Craig, but there have been hints throughout each of their interactions.
She's a kind soul who cares deeply for her subjects, but isn't afraid to ask Craig for help. The Sewer Queen could've called anyone to help her, but she instinctively chose Craig.
In "Lost In The Sewers" The Sewer Queen personally called for Craig to help map out the sewers. Craig was so amazed by the Sewer Queen's leadership skills, that when she got lost, he tried to emulate her abilities to lead his team to rescue her. Sewer Queen granted him the highest honor in her kingdom. Craig had earned his water shoes and the Sewer Queen's respect.
In "Return Of The Honeysuckle Rangers" she wasted no time in defending Craig, it also helps that she didn't mind posing for a portrait on Craig's map. Craig only continued to earn the Sewer Queen's favor by warning her about the secret entrance from the other side.
From then on, she had no quarrels with helping Craig whenever he needed it. from Joining the Council of the Creek, to helping free the Elders trapped under elder rock.
In "The Rise and Fall of The Green Poncho" When everyone else left refusing to believe Craig's warnings about Xavier, The Sewer Queen alongside Jason and Cannonball, were the only kids who stayed behind to aid Craig in defending the Creek. She knew from experience that Craig was telling the truth. The other side had invaded her kingdom, she couldn't just let that slide.
The biggest hints however, appeared in "Sink or Swim Team". Craig had discovered Sewer Queen's secret identity as a member of the swim team. So when she asked for his help to make her lie seem true to her family, he agreed to the plan and was introduced to "Eileen" for the first time. Eileen has occasionally been shown to be affectionate towards Craig, such as putting her arm around his shoulder at the beginning and end of the episode. Craig had never seen the Sewer Queen as a civilian before, so of course he responds with a case of the nervous sweats and stuttering. When Kelsey and J.P followed them the Eileen's house, the first thought that popped into Kelsey's head was that Craig and The Sewer Queen were getting married, indicating that she herself ships the two of them. After Craig was introduced to Eileen's Lola, she asked Eileen if Craig was her boyfriend, much to Eileen's embarrassment. Many argue that a similar incident happened in "The Shortcut" with Kit and her grandmother, but unlike Kit, Eileen actually managed to blush.
In an Instagram post on Cartoon Network's official page, we were asked which was the WORST out of eight ships from various shows, with Craig and Eileen being one of them. This is ironic since Craig and Eileen actually had the BEST ship out of all of them.
Tumblr media
Wildernessa and Sewer Queen share some similarities with eachother
Both are slightly taller than Craig
Both have been mistreated at some point for their flaws
Both have shared their real names with Craig
Both their real names and their nicknames rhyme
Both had Strong shipping potential revealed in a single episode.
Both have strong reasons they could work out as Craig's girlfriend and reasons they could not. What could put all of this full circle is an episode involving an interaction between Wildernessa and The Sewer Queen. Could this the creek's first love triangle or is it part of something bigger?
Autistic/ADHD Wolverine Headcanons
These can be taken for most Wolverines, except for a few which are based on specific versions
HATES loud noises. Hates em. Has asked Beast to fit his mask with mufflers multiple times so he doesn’t have to cover his ears every time a car explodes or siren goes off
Smooth foods are the devil. He really despises anything that isn’t chewy, which is why he usually eats meat.
Special interests include histoy, mostly stuff to do with ancient cultures. Will talk your ear off about feudal Japan, don’t you worry
Cyclops pisses him off because he never bothers to say what he means, and Wolverine really struggles trying to articulate this. E.g. Cyclops tells Wolverine to “deal” with a threat, intending for Wolverine to just knock them out, Wolverine misunderstands this because Cyke didn’t tell him what to do at all, ends up doing the wrong thing, gets yelled at, rinse your hands and repeat
Loves saying “snikt” as a stim. However, due to societal pressures, he smokes instead to get a similar effect.
Only uses one brand of cigar consistently. If someone offers one, he’ll take it because it’s better than nothing, but he won’t buy any other kind other than the one he has. Is it old? Yes. Is it not even that good? Yes. But it’s routine.
Wolverine and the X-Men centred: Emma Frost slowly realised Wolverine was on the spectrum, and started treating him the same way she would one of her neurodivergent students, but still with the respect she would give an adult (and the no-shit-taken attitude she has with him). Wolverine didn’t know why Emma was suddenly so interested in trying to ‘get’ him, and after confronting her proceeded to flip his entire fuck when she told him why. He didn’t hit her, it was barely even directed at her. He just angrily stammered for five minutes and rambled to the ceiling while pacing back and forth before going away for two days. Emma and Logan then proceeded to have little sessions where she would teach him the coping mechanisms she had taught her own students
He also has a bad habit of eating his own cigars whenever he’s stressed. He’ll be chewing on it, thinking about something, and then suddenly whoopsie-doodle it’s gone and now his throat tingles. Sometimes he does it intentionally, much to the disgust of the other X-Men.
Scratches himself a lot. It’s both a stim and a nervous tic from the adamantium transfer, where he, for days after, would constantly itch and claw at his skin to try and alleviate the painful sensations
Wolverine also tends to gnaw at himself. Due to his healing factor, evidence of this is difficult to find, but he’ll randomly bite at his own skin until it bleeds, sometimes seeming unaware of the fact he’s doing it
Ok last stimming one: his dog tags. They’re his comfort item and a stim. He’ll fiddle with them when he’s anxious, and sometimes he’ll even chew on them. The latter is incredibly easy to notice despite him having his hand over his mouth to not arouse suspicion, due to the sound of metal grinding against metal
This one is more centred on the movies, specifically Origins: only Sabretooth knows. He knew Logan was diagnosed with something when they were young, and later found out it was likely some form of neurodivergence that no one in the 1800s really knew about. When they were younger, Logan got really attached to Creed since Creed would explain things to him in a blunt manner, which was a far cry from and much easier to understand than the flowery language of everyone around him
Goes non verbal a heck ton, usually only talking in grunts and growls. He isn’t intentionally trying to be rude, but he’s stopped caring wether or not people think he is.
Has a habit of suddenly jerking back his neck or cracking his knuckles pretty aggressively mid-conversation surely for the Sensory GoodnessTM
Loves rain. And I mean loves rain. He always acts really chill whenever it’s raining outside, since the noise is calming to him. Thunder and lightning spook him, though he won’t admit it
He was scared absolutely shitless when he first saw fireworks. Half was because of war flashbacks, the other was IT’S TOO DAMN LOUD
Got the word “bub” off of Alpha Flight. When any member would say it, he’d repeat it over and over again under his breath. The word just feels good.
Would rather just…not talk. At all. It’s one of the few benefits he sees to being friends with telepaths - he doesn’t NEED to talk to them.
On rare occasions, when he does talk, it sounds completely incomprehensible. It usually ends with him getting incredibly frustrated since no one can understand what he’s saying
Hates malls. The noises, the smells, the stupid stupid LIGHTS- it’s all awful. He has had a meltdown inside of one; it ended with him curled up in a ball inside a clothes rack, practically pulling at his hair with his eyes screwed shut. The X-Men that came with him - Storm, Rogue, and Jubilee - were looking for him for hours. It took them a good few minutes to coax him out, since it was like he couldn’t hear them. Xavier was furious at Wolverine’s “immature behaviour in a public place” and decided sensory overload training would have to be added to the Danger Room’s capabilities. (Because Charles is an asshole)
I’ll add more later I dunno
Prompt: Hello! Could you do a jealous!Erik Lensherr x Reader. They’re both professors and all btw. Thanks!
Warnings: Misunderstandings, jealousy
Abbreviations: (Y/F/N)- your full name, (Y/N)- your name
Author’s Note: 😬 Sorry this took so long to get out, I had a little bit of writer’s block and of course my dear friend, no motivation. The reader is gender-neutral cause I wasn’t sure what was wanted.
As always, Requests Are Open!
Tumblr media
(Y/F/N) loved their job. They couldn’t explain what had convinced them to teach at Charles Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters; perhaps it was Charles Xavier himself, or more likely, the student’s enthusiasm to learn from them. (Y/N) never expected to be a teacher, considering their high school and college experiences weren’t the most exciting or thrilling. They were almost convinced Teachers hated them, which is why it was ironic that they had become a teacher.
It was a year after (Y/N) had begun teaching that they had met Erik Lehnsherr. He was… different. Not in a bad way, but he was closed off. And he only ever talked to Charles, Raven, and occasionally Hank. For a month, (Y/N) thought he didn’t speak. There was nothing wrong with that either; a few of their students preferred to remain mute, and some students preferred to use Sign Language over speaking to communicate with (Y/N). So, if Erik was mute, it wasn’t an issue. (Y/N) wanted to get to know him better. Which was why they had attempted to be Erik’s friend.
Whenever Erik would enter a room, (Y/N) would casually make their way to him and make small talk. Most of the time they were met with silence. (Y/N) could have sworn Erik smiled the last time they talked to him, so they knew they were getting somewhere. Soon enough, Erik would start responding to them, small-short answers at first, but it was still something. (Y/N) even asked him if they were bugging him when the short answers continued. (He said no, but (Y/N) wasn’t so sure). Sometimes they wished they were an empath so they could get a read on Erik’s feelings, but alas, they were only able to heal an object’s physical wounds. But it was okay because they were a valued member of the team and Charles, Raven, and Hank loved them for them.
(Y/N) was almost worried Erik would never open up to them, but as soon as he joined the staff of Charles Xavier’s school, (Y/N) noticed Erik lingering near their classroom. It was almost as if he was seeking them out. (Y/N)’s heart fluttered in giddiness at the mere thought. Whenever they saw Erik in the halls, Erik would greet them with a hello and a kind smile. It was the best part of their day.
It got to the point where (Y/N) would expect to see Erik before they both went to their respective classes, (Y/N) to anatomy, and Erik to physics. This was why they found it disappointing that Erik was nowhere to be found. They wouldn’t have been too worried because even mutants got the flu and needed a vacation, but it was now the fourth day that (Y/N) hadn’t seen Erik and it was very concerning. Did something happen? Did Erik get hurt? Was he seriously ill? Did he leave again? Did he just not want to see (Y/N)? (Y/N) couldn’t stop their mind from jumping to conclusions. It even distracted them from their teaching, so they would often dismiss their class early. Why waste their’s and their student’s time if they couldn’t concentrate? In fact, with the constant short classes, (Y/N) shouldn’t have been surprised to see Charles stroll into their classroom.
“(Y/N), may I speak with you?” Charles asked once it was apparent that (Y/N) was too wrapped up in their thoughts to notice Charles.
“Hmm? Oh, sorry Charles, I’m just a bit distracted, what’s up?” They asked. (Y/N) sat at their desk hoping the steady position will get them to focus on Charles.
“It’s come to my attention that you’ve been letting the students out of class early the past few days, is anything the matter?” Charles asked.
“Oh, uh, no, I just, I’ve been distracted lately is all,” (Y/N)’s cheeks flushed in shame. They couldn’t let this issue affect their job any more than it already has.
“Distracted… by anything in particular?” He moved his wheelchair closer to (Y/N).
(Y/N) shifted so they could face Charles, “Is Erik okay?”
Charles raised his brows, “Why wouldn’t he be?”
“No reason, I just haven’t seen him is all, I was concerned,” (Y/N) shrugged. Maybe Erik really was avoiding them.
“He’s fine. I mean he was acting odd around me as well, but he said he was distracted. Seems to be a lot of that going on around here these days,” Charles nudged (Y/N)’s hand with a teasing smile.
(Y/N) huffed a small laugh, “I suppose I’m not the only one,” they drummed their fingers on their lap, “Don’t laugh, but I think Erik might be avoiding me and I’m kind of afraid that it might actually be true.”
“I won’t laugh at that, but Erik is a complex person. Sometimes he feels the need to isolate himself when he’s troubled, that could be why he’s been staying away,” Charles shrugged.
Charles had a point, Erik didn’t seem the type to confide in someone if something was troubling him.
Charles grabbed (Y/N)’s hand, “I hope everything works itself out, can’t have my best teacher struggling.”
(Y/N) smiled gratefully at Charles’s blatant concern. He was their best friend and they knew he was merely concerned for them. Before they could respond with reassurance, however, Erik stepped into the classroom.
“Oh, sorry, I- sorry,” Erik ran his hand through his hair, “Can I ask,” He pointed from Charles to (Y/N) “are you… do you two- Anything happening here?”
(Y/N)’s brows furrowed at the question, “anything like what?”
Charles snorted with laughter next to them. He waved his hand as if to apologize but the laughter bubbling from his lips made it hard to believe. “What?” (Y/N) frowned.
Charles dropped (Y/N)’s hand and huffed softly, “Nothing, darling. Erik, a word if  you please?” Charles maneuvered his wheelchair outside of (Y/N)’s classroom.
(Y/N) watched as Erik walked out after Charles with a look of confusion. Was there something they weren’t getting?
_____________________________________________________________
Erik has had a rough couple of days. Before, Erik would usually brush off any inconvenience and continue with his day. But ever since he met (Y/N) it’s been a little more difficult to ignore the problem at hand. And that problem came in the form of one Charles Xavier. Erik knew someone as wonderful as (Y/N) had to be taken, but taken by Charles? Not that Charles wasn’t a good person, he was the best person Erik knew, he just really hated that of all people, (Y/N) was dating Charles; his best friend.
When Erik first met (Y/N) he knew there was something special about them, and not just because of their power. No, (Y/N) was the most caring, funny, and charming person he has ever had the pleasure of meeting. They always made sure to include Erik when he first arrived, and they made sure that he wasn’t feeling neglected. These small acts of kindness were enough to make Erik fall for them. But again, (Y/N) was with Charles.
At first, Erik thought he could ignore his feelings and simply brush them aside. But that was easier said than done. (Y/N) was always on his mind. Whenever he was in class, in the danger room, driving. There was no escaping (Y/N). So, Erik accepted his fate and became their friend; Only now he’d see Charles around more often, and he’d feel guilty for even fantasizing about (Y/N). Erik was living in hell.
The other day, Erik had the intention of telling Charles how he felt about (Y/N). When he walked into the living room, both (Y/N) and Charles were sat by the fireplace, talking and laughing. He realized he couldn’t get in the way of their relationship. He couldn’t leave again though, it didn’t sit well with him. Instead, Erik chose to avoid both Charles and (Y/N). Whenever he would see (Y/N), he’d turn the other way and pretend like they weren’t there. He altered his route so he wouldn’t run the risk of running into them. When he saw Charles, Erik would find a way out of the conversation and avoid him as well.
This had been going on for a week now. But even avoiding (Y/N) was like torture; he missed them. He wanted to see them smile when he said hello; he wanted to see them laugh when he told a joke. He missed them. So he went to find them. But when he did, they were with Charles. He didn’t know why he felt so disappointed. He had foolishly hoped to get some alone time with (Y/N).
It got to the point where Erik had finally asked if (Y/N) and Charles were in fact in a relationship; It sure seemed like it. He shifted nervously in place, avoiding Charles’s eyes. He wished he was using his helmet right now.
“Erik, tell me, do you like (Y/N)?” Charles asked casually.
“What would make you think that?” He mumbled.
“Oh, I don’t know, perhaps it’s the disappearing act you seem to pull whenever we’re together or the fact that you haven’t spoken to me or them in days?” Charles raised his brows accusingly. He obviously wasn’t as in the dark as Erik had hoped.
“Maybe I just don’t like talking to you?” Erik shrugged.
Charles rolled his eyes, “Please if that were true I’d have known long ago.”
Erik ran his hand through his hair, “What if I did? There’s no chance for me, I know that. And I would never do anything to jeopardize our friendship.”
Charles smiled, “Well, I’m glad to hear that, but there is something you should know. (Y/N) and I aren’t together.”
Erik frowned, “Did you two break up?”
Charles chuckled, “No, you git, we were never together. We’re just friends. I promise. And if it helps, I’m pretty sure they like you too.”
“Really?” Erik grinned. It seemed he could only string together unintelligent answers now that he knew (Y/N) was single.
“Would I lie to you?” At Erik’s look, Charles rolled his eyes, “When it counts?”
“No, I suppose not,” Erik cleared his throat and finally met Charles’s eyes, “Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s someone I should talk to,” He pointed to (Y/N)’s classroom door behind him with his thumb.
“Definitely. I’d wish you luck, but I am positive this will go well for you both,” Charles winked and left Erik to talk to (Y/N).
Erik took a deep breath and re-entered the classroom.
(Y/N) looked up from fiddling with their fingers when he walked in. They smiled when they saw it was him. It was a pleasant surprise. They had expected Charles to come in. “Erik, it’s been a minute.”
Erik shrugged, “Yeah, I wanted to apologize for that. I uh, may I sit?” He motioned to the seat near their desk.
(Y/N) nodded seeming eager.
Erik pulled the chair closer to (Y/N) and took a seat. “First off, I wanted to apologize for my behavior. I shouldn’t have been avoiding you.”
“So you were avoiding me?” (Y/N) asked.
“Yes, but not because I don’t like you,” Erik rushed when he noticed the disappointed look on their face, “I like you a lot actually. That’s why I’ve been avoiding you.”
“That makes absolutely no sense.” (Y/N) crossed their arms over their chest, “You don’t avoid people you claim to like.”
“That’s a good point, but in my defense, I thought you were dating my best friend.” He drummed his fingers on his thighs, “I know it seems stupid now. I feel stupid, but it only seemed logical at the time.”
(Y/N) smiled and shifted closer to Erik so their knees were touching, “You were jealous of Charles?”
“I know, I know. I’m an idiot, but you had to see how close you two are,” Erik defended.
(Y/N) laughed but nodded in agreement, “Okay, I forgive you.” They took Erik’s fidgeting hands into their own, “And if it helps, I like you too.”
Erik beamed, “It does.”
“Good,” (Y/N) let go of one hand and laced their fingers together with the hand they still held, “Now, ask me on a date so we can stop being idiots.”
Erik laughed happily, “very well. (Y/N), would you like to go on a date with me?”
“Erik, this is so sudden,” (Y/N) teased.
Erik rolled his eyes fondly, “Yeah, only took me a couple of months to get the courage to ask you out.”
(Y/N) bit their lip, “I’d love to go out Erik.” They leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to Erik’s cheek.
“It’s about damn time,” Charles’s voice echoed in both mutant’s minds.
Multiverse of Madness to me might be the most weirdest and strangest movie that’s ever been attached to the MCU and I love it for that.
Tumblr media
First off let me start by saying that if you’re going into this film with the mindset of solely expecting to see Doctor Cameo In The Multiverse Of Fangasms you’re already setting yourself up for disappointment.
When you’re titled Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness you better be like something this universe has never seen before. Everything was just on a whole other level with the direction and soundtrack to match and they couldn’t have done any better than to reunite the dream team of Raimi and Elfman to pull that off. Also, this feels more like a Raimiverse movie than it does an MCU movie to me and that’s exactly the shit I was looking for since Day 1.
A lot of times the MCU likes to say they’re gonna do something different, something that isn’t typical MCU only to more often than not immediately proceed to give you typical MCU these days. Moon Knight came in capping incredibly hard only to turn around and give you yet another standard MCU property. So much talk of a “grittier direction”, “Egyptian representation” and “Egypt like it’s never been seen before” and yet it was business as usual with an Egypt I’ve seen many other times before. And don’t even get me started on the promise of “Netflix level violence” but even so people love what they get and still want to talk crazy about properties such as Falcon And Winter Soldier. Ethan Hawke is still rad tho.
Honestly it’s this whole McDonaldization thing where the people have grown accustomed to only having a particular flavor and then want to act different when they taste something new but that’s a story for another day.
Unlike the past hyperbolic statements, however, Multiverse of Madness was something that genuinely felt different. It felt like their most ambitious project and it had nothing to do with cast size or cameos but more so the story they wanted to tell and how they chose to tell it and I respect that. I’m going to absolutely make it my business to own this once the blu-ray drops.
Also, big time Becks SPOILERS..
The shit I couldn’t stand with WandaVision and why I didn’t fuck with it is how Wanda did all this fucked shit only for the show and the characters within the show constantly going out of their way to tell you that you shouldn’t be mad at Wanda. I appreciate that all that shit actually came to a head this time around. The movie said “If you want to act like a villain so bad then guess what? You’re the fucking villain of this story. “Grief is the villain” my ass”.
Yes; she has a reason for acting the way she does but fuck all that “Poor Wanda” bullshit her fans want to solely perpetuate. Scarlet Witch is the big bad of this film and she absolutely killed it both literally and figuratively. All I ever asked was that they own that shit and they actually did. It’s not about hating the character, it’s about hating the forced perception of said character. From the series and from the fandom. This film did what it needed to do and now I’m actually curious to see what happens with her from here.
Make no mistake, however, I’m still gonna fight her for what she did to Captain Carter.
Also, it seems like they really are fucking serious about making that 90′s animated X-Men series live action canon. My heart cried when Xavier quoted Days Of Future Past him though. Like, all Professor X universes just converging into one.
AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FUCKING NOTE FIGHTING.
