How to Study Abroad With Scholarship
Tumblr media
If you are planning to how to study abroad with scholarship, you might be thinking of a scholarship. Although they can be expensive, many can help you get the education you deserve without breaking the bank. You will have to apply for the elusive award and the process can be lengthy. However, if you follow a few simple steps, you should be able to find the financial aid you need.
First, you will want to make a list of the study abroad scholarships that interest you. This will include those from your home university and those from other institutions. It is also a good idea to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid to learn more about what is available.
Next, you will need to decide on a destination. For instance, if you are looking to study in Germany, you can look into a government scholarship. These are typically awarded to students with financial need.
Lastly, you need to make a budget. Studying abroad can be an expensive endeavor, so you will need to cut back on your spending before you depart. A smart savings strategy can help you make your dreams a reality.
The best way to determine if you have the funds to travel is to check the financial aid office at your home school. Some schools offer free tuition for international students. Also, if you are a current resident of a particular state, you may be eligible for a grant from that state's government.
Once you have narrowed your choices, you should start the application process. This is a rite of passage for any aspiring student, so it is important to start early. Be sure to read the fine print, though, and take note of any terms and conditions.
As you can see, it can be a challenge to figure out the best way to go about getting a scholarship to study abroad. Luckily, there are plenty of scholarship providers willing to give you a helping hand. In addition, many of these programs distribute their awards in installments over the course of the year. So, you will have time to make the most of your award.
One of the easiest ways to do this is to ask around. You should also contact your professors and academic advisors. They can give you an idea of the best places to look.
In fact, they might even be able to tell you which study abroad scholarships are best suited for your needs. If you aren't quite sure which study abroad program is right for you, the Office of International Education may have more information.
While there are several scholarships to consider, there is no need to apply for them all. Applying for just one or two is a great way to find out if you are a candidate for the best awards.
You should also take a close look at the application you have to fill out. There are some who require you to answer questions about your previous study abroad experiences. That said, you should still leave yourself enough time to complete your application. Getting a scholarship can be a life-changing experience, so you don't want to miss out on the opportunity. F1 Drivers As Desi Boys
A.K.A. The F1 grid as Indian guys
Also, I will be writing an entire chatfic about this AU on ao3, so stay tuned ;)
Charles Leclerc — “Charlie”
I think he would be from Mumbai. But like, he lived in the very high-end part of it so it's very hard to know right off the bat.
I just KNOW he studied abroad, okay? Italy or Canada I think. Look at his face— you just know he's the kinda guy people see on the street and think “angrej”
Speaks Hindi with a subtle but insufferable white guy accent. He can't even help it, that's just how he speaks. He once called Max “bhenchod” with the most authentic, desi accent when he was mad and they have all beaches in that high ever since.
Dropped out of university in his last year and came back to India to handle his dad's business after his dad's death.
Fell in love with the hot employee and made him the manager. Everyone knows Carlos got the position by sleeping with the new young hot boss but they stay silent to avoid getting fired.
Now lives in the same complex in Mumbai as Carlos, Max, Lando and others. Lives with his mother, two brothers and a dog.
Leo is a recurring guest in every society event no matter what. Shanta aunty ki kitty party? He's invited. Children playing cricket below? He is the referee. Security guard's dad died? Arthi Leo hi utha raha hai.
Best friends with Pierre. went to the same school as him in his childhood.
Not friendly at ALL with Max.
Carlos Sainz— “Mirchi”
Marathi Mulga for sure
Maula Mere Maula king of guy
His ass should be in a TV serial
Was a regular office worker before he fucked down his boss and now he's the manager. And, well, a win is a win, right?
His parents were kind of homophobic before he became the manager. It's hilarious, actually.
He has such a good voice. If you catch him singing one of the old bollywood songs of Lata Mangeshkar or Muhammad Rafi, consider yourself blessed by the gods.
Knows how to cook since he lives alone
Literally the guy every aunty dreams of marrying their daughter to. Manager of his office. Cooks. Cleans. Respects his elders. Funny. Charming. Every time he and Charles go out at least one middle aged person has asked Carlos if he's married yet and frankly, as his boyfriend who's Right There, Charles is pretty offended.
Have y'all seen the pictures of him in those button up shirts and trousers? The eyes that make Rahat Fateh Ali Khan songs play in your ear every time you look into them? So desi husband material
Best friends with Lando, basically brothers with his they are with each other
Like any best friend, he does NOT like Lando's boyfriend
Max Verstappen— “JATT DON'T CARE 💪🔥💯”
From Haryana
The M in Max stands for Mharo Balam Thanedar Chalawe Gypsy— jkjk
Some say he's aggressive, hot headed, quick tempered; some say he's just Haryanvi.
Is in a psychosexual homoerotic rivalry with Charles and is in denial because of his internalised homophobia.
His dad and Charles’ dad were business partners and now they're always wanting to one up another in the family businesses.
Talking about his father— his dad is very rich and also a typical Haryanvi dad. Bapu sehat ke liye haanikarak type shit.
His father made him do kushti when he was younger and Charles still teases him about it
Will randomly infodump about his father whenever the opportunity presents itself
Married
With how he usually is and what his childhood was like, you'd think he'd be a horrible father but you're WRONG
Everyone loves his daughter Prithvi, or P, for short.
They love spoiling her. Every year on her birthday she gets so many gifts it takes her two days just to open them.
Funnily enough, she once “betrayed” him by saying her favourite was Charlie Uncle.
I just think it would be so funny if he drove a Toyota Fortuner.
Lando Norris— “Lassan 🧄”
From Bangalore
Youtuber. Makes videos for every one of his channels religiously. Has a channel for gaming, another for vlogs, another for shorts and somehow manages them all while uploading reels and posting on Instagram???
He's a university student but nobody knows it because he's always posting videos so they just think he's a full time youtuber
“Shares a room” with Oscar, who is his boyfriend, by the way. You'd never guess. (that is a fucking lie. If you watch even one of his livestreams you'd know that they have explored each other's bodies. He's always “dekho guys Oscar aa gaya 😄😄😄” bro you're not fooling anyone)
Has his own merchandise. His designs are always so cool that they sell out before they're properly out.
Will probably make his own content team when he graduates
He once slipped on the desi toilet while travelling and Carlos made a reel about it. It is one of his most famous reels and Lando will absolutely ignore you if you talk about it.
Kinda fuckboyish???? Like he gives off the vibes of the kinda boy that only texts you past midnight and says shit like “what are you wearing? ;)” Like thank god he has a boyfriend or he would single handedly destroy the faith in love of every girl in a 5 kilometre radius
Oscar Piastri— “gora pakora”
From Goa
Frequently shows up on Lando's videos and livestreams
Studying engineering and living with Lando, basically taking care of him because of course he is
Regular victim of Lando's youtube shenanigans. Gets pranked one too many times every other day.
Has this kind of dead stare where he's just 😐 until Lando comes and annoys (see: kisses or pranks) him
Gets asked “bhai tu kabhi kuch bolta kyu nahi hai” so frequently he should just write “pata nahi yaar” on his face.
Has strong beef with Carlos. Do not talk about that man in front of him. Now this is really inconvenient because Carlos is Lando's bEsT FrIeNd iN tHe WoRlD
There beef started when Lando cried because he missed Oscar and Carlos showed up to Oscar's parents house asking him to square the fuck up. His parents —poor them they don't even know their son is gay— were left to wonder why their son was on a video call with his roommate OUTSIDE in the middle of winter vacation while a strange man cussed him the fuck out.
Lando can and will and DOES make him do silly dance trends with him on Instagram reels
Best friend is Logan, who studies engineering with him. You don't know how much you can depend on someone else until you're an IISER student and they're the only good friend you have.
Daniel Ricciardo— “Paaji”
From Chandigarh
Y'all remember Sodhi from Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma? Yeah. Him.
No one knows how he's able to control Max. Literally his best friend. Max will always have a resting bitch face but when Danny paaji is there he's all “😆😆😂😂🤣🤣” like bro 😐
I just know he would randomly say “oye balle balle balle balle balle” for no reason other than to annoy people. I just know it.
Actually works very hard and always helps people, but he's such a troll that people just think he's some unemployed youtuber with a prank channel
Absolute party animal. Do not ever in front of him mention that you're free that night.
George Russell— “nazuk kali”
From Delhi
Graphic designer. Edits Lando's videos for nim. Studies computer science.
Shared a room with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. Their relationship status is very complex. I'm not saying that they're a throuple, I'm not saying that they're friends. What I'm saying is that they're so dependent on each other I don't think they could function alone anymore. These three idiots make a full functional human being together. George cleans the house, Alex does the cooking and Logan does the laundry and the dishes. They manage, thanks.
George Russell is the type of guy to say “ghar pe maa behen nahi hai kya?” When he sees a girl getting catcalled.
George Russell is the type of guy to say “aapko kahin lagi to nahin?” When he bumps into someone.
George Russell is the type of guy to cover his mouth and say “uff” when he eats something spicy on accident.
On that note, George absolutely cannot handle his spice. Never bit into a raw green chilli willingly in his entire life.
You just know he eats the meethi pani puri with the red chutney and all.
Thinks momos are better than pani puri (he's wrong).
Closes his eyes and covers his ears when a condom ad or a spicy movie scene comes on the TV
Very pale because he rarely leaves his room (which— he's a computer science major, come on)
Lewis Hamilton— “dac saab”
From Kozhikode (Kerala)
Fashion influencer, gets brand deals all the time. Always promoting this brand or that.
Also actually a veterinary doctor with his own dog clinic.
Has a youtube channel where heostly makes affordable fashion tips etc but also posts the dogs at his clinic from time to time.
Spent a lot of years in South Delhi where he fell in love with a guy when he was a teenager but when he eventually moved back to Kozhikode they fell out of contact. Now he’s moved to Mumbai as he opened up a new clinic there and doesn't even know that he actually lives in the same goddamn building as the guy he fell in love with 20 years ago back in South Delhi.
I think y'all can already guess who the guy was, but if you can't (shame on you) it's Nico Rosberg.
Had a wife but she cheated so they divorced or something idk how do you justify a 40 year old guy being unmarried in India?
Loves his dogs more than anything, if there's a dog at his clinic that he can't save he will be sad for days.
Speaks Hindi in a voice that's like three octaves lower than his usual voice. Thinks he sounds bad but he sounds so damn hot.
Nico Rosberg— “thi ek.”
From South Delhi
News anchor for sure. Has a sadness in his eyes that makes you wonder if he ever got over the heartbreak he had at 19 (he did not)
Most people think his hair is dyed (it is not) because he's a chapri (he might be)
Legends say that the only time he has been seen with a smile on his face on TV was when he was talking about his childhood best friend.
The reason he doesn't anchor for any of the big or daresay political news channels is because they don't like how he compares international disputes to the fight he had with his best friend when he was 19.
Regularly travels to other metropolitan cities for news coverings (mainly sports) but lives in Mumbai for majority of the time.
In fact, lives in the same building as Lewis. The fact that they haven't run into each other in the elevator yet is a miracle (or a curse).
Will talk about love and heartbreak to anyone who would listen. You know those boys who say “thi ek” whenever someone tries to talk to them about love? Yeah that's him.
Married and has two daughters that he loves very much.
No pets because they remind him too much of Lewis.
Sebastian Vettel— “Chacha”
From Delhi
Lives in Mumbai with his wife.
Best friends with Lewis, knows everything about him and Nico.
Kind of a father figure to Charles.
The beloved colony uncle that always has the wildest stories ever. Catch him at the tea stall and just get him talking— you will be a changed man when he is done.
“Aur phir uska accident ho gaya aur usne apna haath kho diya, to uski manghetar ki family ne unse rishta tudwa liya. Jiske baad uski manghetar ki sagai mujhse hui aur phir hamari shaadi hui or shayad aaj bhi wo akela hi ek haath se apna hila raha hai bechara”
“...”
You would think considering how sweet he is, he was always this sweet but NO, this man was a MENACE.
Everyone who knew him before he got married wants him dead even now after all the years.
Fernando Alonso— "Kaka"
From Jaipur
The exact opposite of Sebastian.
The old man you see on the side of the road with paan in his mouth and a gaali on his lips
Also tells you stories from his youth and they're just as interesting but he's so arrogant about it that you're no longer interested in listening five minutes in no matter how interesting the story is
The kind of old man who sees children playing in the streets and starts acting like an overly invested referee for no reason.
Goes to the park in the morning at the same time as Sebastian but unlike him, Fernando does not let the joy and whimsy of life have any effect on him making you wonder why he's there at all
Lance Stroll— “vegan wali diet almond wala ghee 😌💅”
From South Bombay
Ameer baap ki bigri aulad
“What do you mean I can't buy the whole store?”
Y'all remember that “Mawn, terew paaw ki jewtie maawwww” girl??? Yeah
Sonam Kapoor is jealous of how much better he is at being a nepo baby
Logan Sargeant— “ye bhi thik hai”
Lives with George and Alex
From Goa
Thank god he does because he would not be surviving otherwise
Might have feelings for his roommates but all he knows how to do is wash the dishes and the clothes and he doesn't wanna die of hunger so he's silent.
Except maybe in front of Oscar but that's his best friendddd
Studying computer science too
Alex Albon— “dhokla4lifer”
From Gujarat
I might be projecting a bit but as someone who fucking LOVES dhokla, I don't see any reason as to why Alex should not.
Cooks for his two roommates, and always cooks so good.
Dhokla on Sundays and a tiffin box full of thepla and aam ka aachar whenever one of them is travelling home
Studying history and geography
Yuki Tsunoda— “momo wale bhaiya”
From Dehradun
Do not call him momo wale bhaiya. He can and will kill you.
Actually does love cooking
Has his own restaurant near the university campus
Pierre Gasly— “tantar mantar”
From West Bengal
Tired of everyone's “kaala jaadu” jokes.
Charles’ best friend and confidante.
Gossip girls. They have all the tea on everyone in the uni.
“Bokachoda”
Does sports.
Final year law student
Esteban Ocon— “Pierre's ex (he is NOT)”
From Odisha
Has beef with Pierre.
Will argue about anything from the origin of roshogulla to the state's contribution in the fight for freedom of the country.
Also final year law student
Extras—
Sergio Perez from Bihar
K Mag from Kashmir (haha get it? Because he's a track terroris—)
Nico Hulkenburg from Kashmir too
Valtteri Bottas from The Andaman Nicobar islands or something idk he shows so much ass it's unreal
Zhou Guanyu from Meghalaya

AITAH for telling my ex's mom I didn't marry her son because they were 'trashy' and 'poor'?
I (25f) come from an upper-middle-class Indian family. In our community, class and status matter a lot, and not marrying into your class or up often means you get disowned. I know it's regressive, but I have never dated anyone without telling them first hand and I have always known what background they came from so that I wouldn't get shamed in our community and neither would my parents. It's a norm, and one of the few I follow, because I can't put any more stress into my elderly parent's lives.
My ex and I broke up last year. We both studied in the same Uni abroad for our Master's and both of us stayed behind in the country. Being from the same community, we bonded over both of us speaking our mother tongue. I told him, the moment he asked me out, that I date to marry, and I would never marry someone my parents wouldn't approve of. I don't care if I sound conservative, I won't. They work very hard to give me a life of privilege and I won't make it hard for them. He reassured me of his family background and the idiot I was trusted him and didn't check. We lived separately anyway, and he was on scholarships and jobs like many of our friends, so I never bothered thinking otherwise. A year into dating he proposes marriage. I told him I wouldn't marry without travelling first. Plus I was thinking of going back to school for a second degree. Then he gaslights me on how I can live my life being married and doing all these things. My friends back home, to whom I told all this, ran a background check, and because we were from the same city, his lies came out.
Truthfully, he came from a family I could never marry into. Not only that, even though my family's conditions were to marry within our economic class, no matter what race or caste, his family came from a place where the veil for women (purdah), not working, and horrible living conditions were prevalent. He lied about his parents being government workers, only one of them had a high school diploma, and in India, it is considered a very bad thing. I confronted him, and we had a massive fight. He told me he would never even look in his family's direction again if I married him, and I was disgusted. I broke up with him, and he harassed me for months. He only stopped when my cousin went to his flat to talk to him, and I don't know what they talked about, but he stopped calling and texting me.
Only, yesterday I got a call from his mother (I'm back in India to celebrate festivals with my family), and she started to cry and tell me that her son blames them for me leaving him. I asked her where she got my number from and she said that he gave it to her. I was pissed, so I asked her to leave me alone, and she started to scream at me and call me names and asked me why wasn't her son enough, and why was marrying into a poor family so bad. So I told her that both she and her son were trashy and I wasn't going to suffer them, that them being poor was not my fault, and to never contact me again. She cried and cursed me.
I don't know, I feel bad, because maybe my ex hurt his mother and she was just mad and took it out on me. AITAH?

VALORANT UNIVERSITY HEADCANONS
@eviethelesbian once again thank you for the Headcanon List. Also shoutout to @darthladyofillusions because I included ur OC :)
Harbor is a history professor dating Astra, the archeology professor.  Both of them met on a trip to a site in India
Both of them reached for the same the brush at one point and they laughed it off later
Both of them are excellent teachers in their own way.  Varun has a habit of going on tangents about stories and is super nerdy about his subject.  Efia’s classes are fun and her energy is infectious
Cypher has a family and does cyber security for the University.  Nobody knows his actual name.
Nobody knows him that well but when he comes out of his office he’ll say hello to anyone nearby.  He goes home quickly though and usually avoids working late.
Cypher’s office is full of pictures of his family, drawings from his daughter, screens, and the scent of imported Moroccan teas
He and his wife and kid see the students off when they graduate, and all of the students are amazed to realize that this guy has such a good family life.  (They thought he was a no-life kinda guy)
Liam ‘Brimstone’ Byrne is the university’s Dean and basically runs everything as much as possible for the good of the students.  Tariq and him are the brains and guiding hand of the university
He retired from the military after he was given an educator’s license and became a professor of tactics at a military academy.  He then took his skills elsewhere and turned the college into what it is now
Liam keeps the students at the forefront of any policy changes and takes an interest in professors that are considered brilliant but difficult to work with.  He’s an expert of recruitment and reining in the right people
Has snacks in his office for students but they can only get them if they complete a pull-up on an pull-up bar he has in his office.  One arm only.
Sabine worked at R&D at a pesticide company but is the only Organic Chem teacher that the Valorant U could get.  Somehow is a good professor despite hating students and no general teaching
She doesn’t really hate them but it isn’t a good idea to get on her bad side.  It’s rumored she poisons the students she hates.
Stared daggers into the first person (Jamie), to make a Breaking Bad reference and since then nobody brings it up
Classes with her are pretty tense but if a student actually tries and gives their all, she’ll notice and be kinder to them.  Especially students who study chemistry.  Double for O-Chem.
Sabine’s style of teaching could use work, but when she tries to explain complex ideas she’s genuinely in her element.  She once explained how tetrodotoxin and nerve ion channels worked to Zyanya’s little sister
Zyanya is a professor for sure, probably the best Spanish teacher ever.  Beyond terrifying to new students
She will not let students forget proper accents and grammar, and god help the people that do.  Somebody once forgot their homework and Zyanna was literally this close to killing them
Her Spanish is specifically Mexican, and that extends to the class through some of the words she teaches.  Especially bits in culture and authenticity
Zyanya’s idea of testing people is borderline an interrogation.  10 minutes of extensive and stern conversations and multiple pages of writing.  People say it feels like their souls have literally been drained
Students come out of the classes fluent or scarred for life
Ling is a professor of medicine and completed her PHD around the same time Viper completed hers.  They were amazed to see each other teaching
She does Tai Chi for relaxation but did at one point learn Kung Fu while living abroad in a monastery for a couple of years.  She once broke a board in front of her class just to prove it
Hosts meditation hours during finals week and her office hours are always super useful for all of the medical and nursing students.  Calming as hell to anxious people
Tala got a scholarship via cross country and another from basketball, and wants to major in physical therapy.  She also got a job doing late night shifts at the library as security.
Hazal is in a band called Nightmare.  Her and several other introverts got together and started one.  Only perform in the most obscure venue.  She can play bass REALLY WELL
Tala found out and now shows up to every performance the band has.  If it weren’t for the lights flashing red and blue, you could see Hazal blushing when she spots Tala in the crowd
That’s how she met Hazal.  Tala was approached by her because Hazal wanted to study late and the two became acquainted
Both of them love the late nights that they share and Hazal is always at one of Tala’s games.  Tala picks her out of the crowd every time, and at the end Hazal always kisses her
Mateo is a veterinary student and is everyone’s friend.  Except Iselin because some of his patients got into her office once and trashed her latest project model
He keeps fish, dogs, lizards, cats, and nearly everything else.  At one point he was in charge of a project that kept some monkeys around at one point
The animal counterparts are a chameleon (Dizzy), a Chinese High Banded Shark (Thrash), a bullfrog tadpole (Mosh), and an Axolotl named Wingman
He has a crochet version of his (radivore) crew, courtesy of Omen being bored one day
Mateo is a Gen Z kid, and his vocabulary beyond salvaging
Jamie is an English major, I mean, obviously
Everyone likes Jamie, he brings a certain energy to everything he does and it resonates well with people.  His writing has a level of power and rhythm that makes it both easy to listen and layered
He is a songwriter, and poet, and even has a collection of published short stories.  His mums are proud.  His scripts are also incredible and his goal is to get his own musical to Broadway
When Jamie is in a play, it’s usually as the protagonist or the main antagonist.  It is wonderful to see him on stage, especially because he’s trained as a Shakespearean actor
Tayane is THE art student and the reason most of the faculty drinks.  And also the reason why most of the students drink too
Absolute ragers getting thrown anytime Tayane is involved.  This woman does not stop until the sun is up
Her graffiti portraits are inspired, colorful, and almost always on government property or university property.  Brim started commissioning her in order to stop her from painting everything
The commissioned murals are a lot better for her, and gave her legal access to make huge projects on some of the older buildings
One of the walls is a silhouette of a woman with big circular glasses, geometric pink and yellow patterns around her, and surrounded by flowers
Vincent Fabron is the art teacher and Viper HATES him.  He’s also that one teacher an unreasonable amount of people of have a crush on
He was a tattoo artist while taking art lessons in France, then moved into high class art.  His gallery pieces gained a lot of attention and he gained a lot of money from them.
Now he teaches art, and has done graphic design for many upscale companies.  His own business card has won awards from design and art societies though
Omen is a guy in a scarf and hoodie that is somehow in everyone’s classes.  He crochets in the back sometimes.
Texts notes at 4am to anyone who needs it and is incredibly nocturnal.  He doesn’t need sleep he needs friends
Students never remembered or learned his name, so they just started calling him Omen after the laptop brand he uses
Erik ‘Breach’ Torsten is a coach they brought in and actually manages a paralympic team.  May have criminal past according to some of the athletes he manages
He will scream at people in Swedish during games, practice, going over strategies, and if he sees them in public.  Friendly but so loud
His prosthetic arms were a courtesy of the university’s science program.  They were partially a gift and partially a test to see what they could do.  Erik made sure that he could flip people off with the arms
Iselin the professor of Industrial Design, and she is the most stern professor ever.  At times she works for a wilderness recreation company and does product design for them.
She is very organized, and her lecture presentations are always available, she lists the pages to read, dates for every assignment are posted a month in advance
Iselin’s a professional and rarely eases up, but the few times she’s been out with the other faculty she’s been surprisingly fun.  Especially with Ling for some reason
Kirra is a Biology professor that has so many plants in her room.  Has a parakeet, dog, and fish tank at home too.  Does wildlife photography on the side.
Kirra protested in college and was arrested once for sabotage.  So she is totally chill with people missing class for stuff, and gives extra credit for students involved in causes
Goes on wilderness expeditions with some students for a class and memorized several survival books worth of information and knows every plant, animal, and fungus she comes across
Klara is an engineering major and Tayane just comes to those classes because she can.  It usually results in the equipment being plastered in stickers and paint.
They met when Tayane decided to tag the garage that Klara was keeping her final project in.  Both of them sort of caught feelings as soon as they saw each other
Klara fell so damn hard, and realized this while Tayane was doing a kegstand.  Klara whispered ‘she’s perfect’ mindlessly and then realized Sunwoo was right next to her
Sunwoo finished what was in her cup, patted Klara on the back, and said ‘good luck’ before walking away and pretending she didn’t hear
Her final project has been her ‘Lockdown’ which is basically an EMP crossed with a massive DDOS hack.  It went off once and downed the college’s internet for a week.
She’s going to switch it to something a little less destructive at this point, and Tayane is helping her brainstorm.  Currently it’s a robot but she’s trying to figure out what to make it do
KAY/O is Tariq’s gamertag.  The man is a CS:GO fiend and has crazy flashes due to muscle memory
Liam and him are MARRIED.  I’m not budging on this one and you will find me dead in the ground before I let this go
Tariq’s good at a lot of random stuff and doesn’t help out too much at the college but is well-known as the ‘guy who Brim allows to help grill things’ because nobody else is allowed
Helps Liam plan out things for the students and assists in any sort of set up that he can do
Ryo is studying Japanese History and works as a mechanic at a chop shop.  It is shady as hell over there but Yoru will hook people up if needed.  They definitely steal parts though
He takes business classes and there’s a real chance he might double major.  His business acumen and aggressive nature would make him the ultimate CEO
Sasha is the professor that most students simp for, and he teaches Russian Language classes.  Throws things at students that don’t pay attention and rarely misses
He has an owl nesting outside of the window to his classroom, he named it Matrioshka after the nesting dolls.  It had owlets so it seemed fitting.
His babushka lives out of the country but gets a continuous stream of gifts from him
Sasha is that one professor that has a weird story for everything in his room.  The bow he has? killed a grizzly bear with it.  Glass eye on display?  It was a gift from a glassmaker that was caught with illegal firearms.  Weird rock?  It was at the sight of a historic battle and has a bootprint in it
Has SO MANY books from Russian writers he reads in his off time.  Also does archery at a cabin he has in the woods.
Nobody could handle Novikov at the cabin, the sheer hotness of him splitting firewood, bow hunting, and chopping trees would send people into a simp coma
At the end of the year, he writes each student a short note in Russian telling them something worthwhile.
Sunwoo is an amazing sprinter and also amazing at darts.  Loves adding photos to the corkboard she has in her dorm
She isn’t really sure what she wants to study at the moment or even if she wanted to go to college.  Gotta love families pressuring college on their kids right?
It isn’t as depressing though, she shows real talent and enjoyment in studying Business but surprisingly is leaning towards learning Journalism as well
She writes stuff for the school paper, a blog, and even has a (somewhat inspired by people around her) science fiction story.  She hasn’t thought of a name yet.
It’s about secret agents that fight against an alternate dimension that tries to steal a powerful crystal from them.  It’s quite popular with the people who she let read it and people are constantly asking for updates
Sunwoo is trying, and hopefully she’ll manage to find somewhere she can feel comfortable

Kayra is studying botany, and started a garden in one of the common areas.  At first it was small but cute, then after a few weeks the flowers and bushes spread outside of the garden and overtook the common area.
It's now her favorite place to get away from people because trellises were added in and nobody can see through the vines.  There’s a chance she keeps patio furniture in the garden too
Has been living in an apartment with Hazal.  Tala has been the only one in there and says its overrun with houseplants and hanging lamps.
(@darthladyofillusions I hope this is accurate to some extent)

I'm from the USA and took a lot of Indian history courses at my university. You might already know this or have guessed it, but a lot of what we learned was taught from a leftist--and at times explicitly Marxist--perspective. This was even stronger in other (but thankfully not all!) social studies departments where there were classes focusing solely on various social ills of Hinduism with regard to caste and issues of feminism, yet almost nothing negative could be said if it might be critical of Islam or Muslim figures, (Mahmud of Ghazni being a notable exception for one of my professors.) There was a whole class on British colonialism; no details were spared. Horrible famines in the Deccan, Odisha, Bengal. The decimation of the textile industry. Banning bharatanatyam. The salt tax. Accounts of how a British man kicked one of his servants to death, and another of how the poor and sick congregated outside the gates of a hospital in the south that at the time would only help Europeans. Jallianwala Bagh. But Aurangzeb? Completely whitewashed. You would think Sikhs carry a kirpan for no reason. It was only through reading additional books and documents for my essays and projects that I learned about how he tore down temples, smashed murtis (and stole valuable ones,) levied a double tax on non-Muslims, etc. I remember reading an account of a traveler going through the south at the time of the Deccan wars, remarking on how you could find entire villages empty and deserted fields full of unharvested crops because the people had fled advancing armies. In one region his forces simply killed some Telugu-speaking Brahmins serving the local king rather than force them to convert, and in another his forces captured a royal scribe, forced him to convert to Islam, and forcibly circumcized him before the man killed himself. Obviously the history of all things under the umbrella of Hinduism or any other system is not perfect, but there was a huge difference in how critical you could be of Hinduism (and even western traditions/ideas) compared to Islam.
Sometimes I daydream about what it would have been like to study Sangam literature in India or to experience Andal without needing an English translation, or going to translate old Sanskrit copies of the Mahabharata whose telling is unique to a certain village or something. But ultimately I'm glad I chose to be a research scientist instead and have a career in that, because I don't think I would have been able to succeed in academia unless I were a leftist. :\ Honestly I feel like even going to hang out with ISKCON for a few days would be a better introduction to Hinduism for the average person abroad with zero knowledge than a class called "Intersections of Gender and Caste in Hinduism" or something.
Very telling how Hinduism, and even Christianity is ripped apart in academia, yet when it comes to Islam, it is a religion of "tolerance, and beauty that respects women."
Honestly, though, it's because of how severely they react when their religion is criticized or even inspected. Apostates are given death, women who do not obey are given death, anyone who utters a word against their precious prophets is given, you guessed it! Death.
No religion is perfect, humans can be horrific creatures, and even Hinduism cannot escape that. But Islam has committed far more war crimes than any other religion.
It absolutely boils my blood to see traces of colonizers in our cities. One side of my family hails from Aurangabad, named aftre Aurangzeb, and you already know the atrocities he committed.
It's so fucking insidious to see how the youth have been told what to think. My own friend claimed to me, verbatim: "You cannot be neutral in the Israel-Palestine war. Either you support Palestine, or you support genocide."
Support Hamas? Support terrorism? The same terrorism that affects us? Has everyone forgotten 26/11?
It makes me so sad to think of the future we could have had. Sanskrit would be the most spoken language, instead of English. Gurukuls would exist, and India would still have all of its wealth.
You're right, even ISKCON is better than the propaganda they feed people about our religion.

Read-Alike Friday: African Europeans by Olivette Otele
African Europeans by Olivette Otélé
Africans or African Europeans are widely believed to be only a recent presence in Europe, a feature of our ‘modern’ society. But as early as the third century, St Maurice—an Egyptian— became the leader of a legendary Roman legion. Ever since, there have been richly varied encounters between those defined as ‘Africans’ and those called ‘Europeans’, right up to the stories of present-day migrants to European cities. Though at times a privileged group that facilitated exchanges between continents, African Europeans have also had to navigate the hardships of slavery, colonialism and their legacies.
Olivette Otele uncovers the long history of Europeans of African descent, tracing an old and diverse African heritage in Europe through the lives of individuals both ordinary and extraordinary. This hidden history explores a number of questions very much alive today. How much have Afro-European identities been shaped by life in Europe, or in Africa? How are African Europeans’ stories marked by the economics, politics and culture of the societies they live in? And how have race and gender affected those born in Europe, but always seen as Africans?
Caste by Isabel Wilkerson
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings.
Beyond race, class, or other factors, there is a powerful caste system that influences people’s lives and behavior and the nation’s fate. Linking the caste systems of America, India, and Nazi Germany, Wilkerson explores eight pillars that underlie caste systems across civilizations, including divine will, bloodlines, stigma, and more. Using riveting stories about people—including Martin Luther King, Jr., baseball’s Satchel Paige, a single father and his toddler son, Wilkerson herself, and many others—she shows the ways that the insidious undertow of caste is experienced every day. She documents how the Nazis studied the racial systems in America to plan their out-cast of the Jews; she discusses why the cruel logic of caste requires that there be a bottom rung for those in the middle to measure themselves against; she writes about the surprising health costs of caste, in depression and life expectancy, and the effects of this hierarchy on our culture and politics. Finally, she points forward to ways America can move beyond the artificial and destructive separations of human divisions, toward hope in our common humanity.
On Savage Shores by Caroline Dodds Pennock
We have long been taught to presume that modern global history began when the "Old World" encountered the "New", when Christopher Columbus “discovered” America in 1492. But, as Caroline Dodds Pennock conclusively shows in this groundbreaking book, for tens of thousands of Aztecs, Maya, Totonacs, Inuit and others —enslaved people, diplomats, explorers, servants, traders—the reverse was true: they discovered Europe.
For them, Europe comprised savage shores, a land of riches and marvels, yet perplexing for its brutal disparities of wealth and quality of life, and its baffling beliefs. The story of these Indigenous Americans abroad is a story of abduction, loss, cultural appropriation, and, as they saw it, of apocalypse—a story that has largely been absent from our collective imagination of the times.
From the Brazilian king who met Henry VIII to the Aztecs who mocked up human sacrifice at the court of Charles V; from the Inuk baby who was put on show in a London pub to the mestizo children of Spaniards who returned “home” with their fathers; from the Inuit who harpooned ducks on the Avon river to the many servants employed by Europeans of every rank: here are a people who were rendered exotic, demeaned, and marginalized, but whose worldviews and cultures had a profound impact on European civilization.
The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber
For generations, our remote ancestors have been cast as primitive and childlike—either free and equal innocents, or thuggish and warlike. Civilization, we are told, could be achieved only by sacrificing those original freedoms or, alternatively, by taming our baser instincts. David Graeber and David Wengrow show how such theories first emerged in the eighteenth century as a conservative reaction to powerful critiques of European society posed by Indigenous observers and intellectuals. Revisiting this encounter has startling implications for how we make sense of human history today, including the origins of farming, property, cities, democracy, slavery, and civilization itself.
Drawing on pathbreaking research in archaeology and anthropology, the authors show how history becomes a far more interesting place once we learn to throw off our conceptual shackles and perceive what’s really there. If humans did not spend 95 percent of their evolutionary past in tiny bands of hunter-gatherers, what were they doing all that time? If agriculture, and cities, did not mean a plunge into hierarchy and domination, then what kinds of social and economic organization did they lead to? The answers are often unexpected, and suggest that the course of human history may be less set in stone, and more full of playful, hopeful possibilities, than we tend to assume.

The Weight of the World
horny brain time~ (disclaimer: these are generalized cuisine stereotypes! Just horny fun for this lil au <3)
~~~
The idea that (along with genetics) people get a certain kind of chubby based on their cuisine. A certain ✨Flavour✨ of fat, if you will uwu
Uni Jungkook signs up to be part of this international relations exchange program where he gets to do a few semesters abroad, and he's going with his best friend Jimin. He's always been an admirer, and eats too much himself. The only other person that knows about his feeding kink is Jimin, who- by exposure from Jungkook- has also developed a love for the pudge in his own tummy and likes seeing pretty boys grow. They definitely feed each other's kinks. It's not all that uncommon for Jimin to flash Jungkook a grin and eye him up, and make a comment about how he's looking fatter than last month... and it sends Jungkook's bunny cheeks burning bright and his thighs trembling. He gets Jimin back with a playful slap to his hyung's dumptruck ass, and they both break into fits of laughter with half hard-ons. They have a mutual love for a few favorite streamers online, and watch together while chowing down bowls of rice and delicious meat.
Jungkook has never really thought about how- even though Jimin's weight settles in his thighs and ass first, and Jungkook's in his belly- they're both sort of... the same kind of fat. Jimin is so squeezable, all of his skin is soft and stretched, and his ass and hips wobble from the littlest touch. Jungkook's gut is the same. He's soft and fat in his middle, with a rounded waist that bulges out of his jeans and jiggles when he breathes.
On their study trip, Jungkook and Jimin can't help but... admire all of the chubby cuties that they see. And try all of the food, of course. Slowly, things start coming together. They spend a few months in America, a few in the United Kingdom, some in Europe, a couple in India and China, and three weeks in Japan before coming back home.
Jimin drags Jungkook to parties and bars despite the younger being shy and whining that he wants to just snuggle up at home and eat noodles. Jungkook notices that in America, the boys have flabby stacks of rolls that he wants to sink his hands into. He watches their newly-made friends chow on fast food and slurp gallons of soda. Jimin especially drools over the way that their guts are firm and bloated in the middle and hang heavily over their belts. Jungkook affectionately coins it the "McDonalds belly," after seeing so many university guys inhaling the greasy burgers.
Up next, they fly away from the flabby boys and land in the UK. Jungkook can't help but take up Jimin's job and drool over what his hyung calls the "potato belly." Guys with cute accents down pitchers and pitchers of thick beer. They chug dark, rich Guinness like it's water and, naturally, they need something fatty to munch with it. Jungkook gnaws on his lower lip as the university guys there inhale baskets of thick french fries called chips and practically live on potatoes. Fried fish and chips. Chips for lunch. Loaded chips. It's the go-to drunk food and devoured as a late-night snack. Jungkook wants to eat up the porky, slobby boys. Hearty wedges of greasy starch have built up in their tummies, and make them round and thick, just like the shape of a potato themselves. Boys belch and shamelessly wear their guts that push out full and demand attention, filled with fattening potatoes and beer. Jungkook has to sit on his hands to keep himself from groping them, and Jimin teases him relentlessly.
Jungkook pouts when they have to leave behind the shameless fatties, but he gets the chance to tease Jimin again as they step foot in Europe. Everyone lives on bread. So much fucking bread. Carbs for breakfast. Carbs for lunch. Carbs for dinner. Jimin gets addicted to the fluffy, sweet croissants that everyone eats for breakfast. Jungkook encourages him with glee as Jimin gains pounds of fluff right at the crest of his belly, making him even more adorably soft. His shirt sneaks up for the chub to squish out. Jungkook pinches it and makes the older squeak and tug down his shirt with flushed embarrassment and arousal. While the constant buttery pastries plump up his friend, Jungkook admires how squishy the cuties are here. Everyone munches on sandwiches that are mostly bread, and it makes them soft and curvy. Jimin and Jungkook's body types fit in best here, and they enjoy their own rounding tums as they hit up the bakery every morning. Jimin's soft cheeks puff out adorably from so many pastries.
Jungkook didn't realize that the type of food so heavily influenced how people's bodies soften out and fatten up. But they both worship the different shapes of chubbies in each country.
"Hyung... what kind of fat are we? What do we call our tummies?" Jungkook asks in Korean so know one at the restaurant will know as he brings another bite of creamy pasta to his lips. Jimin's cute chin doubles as he glances down at his own middle, squishy and round on his thick thighs as it rests in his lap- a new feat that had him whimpering and demanding for Jungkook to feel.
He giggles and touches the extra pudge. "Right now I'm growing my French buttery croissant belly... but you-" He openly ogles Jungkook and assesses him up and down, narrowing his eyes as he focuses on the way that Jungkook's tummy bulges from too much dinner. The attention makes his cheeks heat, despite being the one to ask the question. Jimin's answer warms him from the inside out. "You're pure Korean, Jungkookie. Home. Yummy and comforting. Fat on rice and tteok-bokki and spicy beef." Jimin's small hand sinks into the squishy swell of Jungkook's middle. Jimin cooes and pats his chub lovingly. Jungkook bites down on his lip to make sure he doesn't whine in public as a ripple goes through him and his belly jiggles happy and fat.
"F-fuck-" Jungkook uses the English word, and Jimin cackles, just to dig his fingers in and squeeze. He gets an ample handful. There's so much more pudge to grab than Jungkook remembers... is that new? Maybe Jimin isn't the only one who has been filling in on their 'eat the world' trip.
"Stuffed piggy~" Jimin teases in Korean. Jungkook sputters around his forkful of pasta.
Despite his teasing, they both waddle back to their shared room with bellies that are too full, stuffed and completely content.
In bed, Jungkook rubs his stomach and admires the curve beneath the blanket. His fingers sink deeply into the soft flesh. He curiously shakes, and a fat layer of warmth wobbles inside of him. Apparently he has been thickening up.
"All of this international food has been nice..." Jungkook turns his head lazily to see Jimin snuggled into his pillow like a chubby kitten.
"Mmmmm~" Jimin agrees with a sleepy nod, eyes closed.
"But- I kind of can't wait to stuff myself with real food-" Jungkook whispers into the safety of their room, imagining his belly full of hot bulgogi, comforting jijigae stew, and mouth-watering fried chicken. He moans at the thought. Heavy and filling. Just how he likes it.
"Mmmm- nothing beats home cooking, does it? I'm going eat a mountain of samgyeopsal when we get back. Gonna stuff myself until I can't move." Jimin mumbles and snuggles in deeper to his pillow.
Jungkook smiles at the thought. Both of them pinned to the couch, fat with all of their favorite dishes. It's such a warm and comforting image that it pulls Jungkook down into sleep, where he dreams of eating his way through a feast of familiar, home-cooked meals.
Study abroad is a great way to learn new languages, gain new skills, and experience new cultures. If you are considering studying abroad, you will need to do your research. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Choosing your study abroad location is the first step. There are many options, and you should pick a program that best suits your needs. In addition, you may want to consider taking part in a service-learning project.
The cost of how to study abroad with scholarship can be a concern. However, some universities offer programs that are fully funded, while others charge a minimal fee. Additionally, you will need to prepare for travel and health insurance.
They are most commonly offered during the summer and January Term, although there are some programs available throughout the year.
Long-term programs are usually designed to meet a certain degree requirement. Students who participate in these programs may also participate in service-learning projects and internships. These programs are especially useful for those who are considering a career in a global setting.
Asif Ahmad: A Young Entrepreneur from Bihar
Bihar, the state I proudly call home, has long faced significant challenges in key areas such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Growing up in Bihar, I personally witnessed the struggles of talented individuals forced to leave their home state in search of better opportunities. This experience became the driving force behind my mission to transform Bihar into a thriving hub where every individual—no matter their background—can achieve their full potential without having to migrate for a better life. Over the years, I have focused on addressing some of Bihar’s most pressing issues: limited access to quality education, a shortage of healthcare services, and the need for sustainable infrastructure.
Education: A Cornerstone for Empowerment
Education has always been at the heart of my vision for Bihar. As a young person here, I saw the immense potential in our youth but recognized the stark gap in access to quality education. Many young people had to leave Bihar to pursue their academic goals, and this migration was a barrier to both personal growth and regional development. After returning to India from my studies abroad, I focused on strengthening local institutions like Madhubani Medical College and the Madhubani Institute of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences. These institutions provide world-class education in Bihar, offering opportunities for local youth to thrive in their home state. By training students locally, particularly in healthcare, we aim to ensure that Bihar retains its brightest minds and creates a sustainable environment for them to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth.
Healthcare: Making Healthcare Accessible and Affordable
Access to quality healthcare has been another critical issue I’ve worked to address. Growing up in rural Bihar, I saw firsthand how families struggled to access basic medical services. The nearest healthcare facilities were often far away, and the cost of treatment was prohibitive for many. The shortage of trained medical professionals was also a major barrier to care. In 2019, I became deeply involved with Madhubani Medical College, which offers an MBBS program and is attached to a 600-bed hospital providing affordable treatment. With consultation fees as low as Rs 30 and room charges just Rs 150 per day, the hospital aims to make quality healthcare accessible to everyone. But this initiative is about more than just addressing immediate needs; it’s about building a self-sustaining healthcare infrastructure that can serve future generations of Biharis.
Infrastructure: Building the Foundation for Growth
For Bihar to truly prosper, modernization of its infrastructure is essential. This includes building reliable roads, improving transportation networks, and upgrading utilities. As part of Astaus India Pvt Ltd, the company I co-founded, we are working on various infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, boosting the local economy, and enhancing the quality of life for Bihar’s residents. From eco-friendly construction to sustainable urban planning, we are committed to creating modern infrastructure that supports long-term economic growth and ensures Bihar can compete with more developed regions.
Creating an Ecosystem of Opportunity
Beyond education, healthcare, and infrastructure, my broader vision for Bihar is to foster an environment of opportunity, particularly for its youth. By focusing on entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic empowerment, I want Bihar to become a state where young people don’t feel the need to leave for better opportunities. Supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses is key to creating a thriving, self-sustaining economy. This will encourage innovation, generate employment, and help the state build an ecosystem that empowers its citizens.
A Broader Mission: Empowering India
While Bihar will always be at the center of my efforts, I also recognize that the challenges of education and healthcare are not unique to this state. That’s why I am also working on initiatives outside Bihar, such as the establishment of Kashmir Medical College, the first private medical college in the region. By addressing disparities in education and healthcare across India, my broader mission is to create an equitable system that benefits all citizens, regardless of where they live.
Looking Ahead: A Brighter Future for Bihar
Looking to the future, I envision a Bihar that thrives—a state where every individual has the opportunity to succeed, where youth can find fulfilling careers at home, and where accessible healthcare and modern infrastructure support the overall well-being of the population. I believe that with the right investments in sustainable development, a focus on innovation, and collaboration across all sectors, Bihar can become a leader in economic and social progress in India. The journey will take time, but with each step, we are laying the foundation for a more prosperous and equitable future. Bihar’s transformation is not just a dream; it is a vision I am committed to making a reality, one initiative at a time.
Because several of the first Iraqi films were coproductions with Egypt, Turkey, and Lebanon and often employed foreign directors, used foreign actors, and relied on investments, equipment, and trained workers from abroad, in the very limited scholarship on the history of cinema and film in Iraq there has been much debate about what can rightly be called the first Iraqi film. [...] Failure and coproduction [...] were not only an essential feature of the early Iraqi film industry, but [...] they paved the way for subsequent productions. Bhaskar Sarkar has described how global media theory outside of the global centers of production has been preoccupied with novelty and national firsts. Similarly, [...] Cooley argues that the “intertwined histories such as those of cinemas in the Middle East and South Asia have been chronically erased in national narratives of cinemas [...]”. [S]he examines the Iranian entrepreneurs who travelled to India and Egypt in search of technology, training, and collaboration and concludes that “Iranian cinema was partly born of material connections to Egypt and India.” In Iraq as well, film production was established through transregional and transnational cultural and material collaborations [...].
---
Attempts to produce films in Iraq did not materialize until the late 1940s when a number of joint Egyptian-Iraqi production companies were created. The first of these joint companies, Aflam al-Rashid, was founded by ‘Adil ‘Abd al-Wahhab, an Iraqi studying medicine in Cairo. Ibn al-Sharq (Son of the East), the first and only film produced by Aflam al-Rashid was directed by the Egyptian directors [...] and coproduced with al-Ahram Studios in Cairo. Ibn al-Sharq featured both Iraqi and Egyptian actors and musicians, including ‘Adil ‘Abd al-Wahhab himself, the Egyptian actress Madiha Yusri, and several Iraqi musicians. Ibn al-Sharq premiered in late November 1946 in King Ghazi Cinema in Baghdad and shortly after in Cairo. A semi-autobiographical melodrama, the no-longer-extant Ibn al-Sharq tells the story of an Iraqi medical student in Cairo. [...]
The year after the premiere of Ibn al-Sharq, another joint Egyptian-Iraqi production appeared – al-Qahira-Baghdad [...]. Like al-Qahira-Baghdad, in addition to its actors, directors, and technical staff, the plot of Ibn al-Sharq also moves between Cairo and Baghdad, thereby culturally and materially connecting the two capitals. Both al-Qahira-Baghdad and Ibn al-Sharq were filmed in Egypt and Iraq and the local dialects of both countries appear in the films. [...] [R]einstating coproductions reveals the extent of the transregional transfer of knowledge, culture, film infrastructure [...].
---
In 1946, the Sawda’i family created Studio Baghdad, the first studio in Iraq.
As a joint business venture, the Sawda’i family established Studio Baghdad with investments from Anton Messayeh, whose family owned Iraq’s largest arak distillery, an Iraqi Jewish businessman by the name of Salman Zilkha, and a Muslim business partner named Kamil al-Khudayri. In the first couple of years, Studio Baghdad relied heavily on experts hired from Europe and Egypt. With time, however, Iraqis who had trained abroad took over. [...] In 1954, Studio Baghdad was sold to Iraqis living abroad, but it continued to make films until 1966, when the Coca-Cola Company acquired the land and buildings in order to build a factory. During its first two years, the newly established company produced documentary films [...].
---
In 1948, Studio Baghdad produced its first film, ‘Aliya wa ‘Isam. ‘Aliya wa ‘Isam is a Romeo and Juliet-like melodrama [...]. André Shatan, a French director,directed ‘Aliya wa ‘Isam and employed French equipment and materials in its production. In fact, the majority of Studio Baghdad’s materials and equipment came from France where Me’ir Sawda’i, who had studied engineering there, had contacts.
Studio Baghdad commissioned the Iraqi Jewish lawyer, journalist, poet, and editor of the Iraqi cultural magazine al-Hasid, Anwar Sha’ul, to write the songs and script for ‘Aliya wa ‘Isam. Being a poet, Sha’ul wrote the first version of the script in metered and rhymed verse. The owners of the studio, however, found it too formal and he was asked to rewrite it, which shows how aesthetic standards and processes had to be negotiated during the early years of the industry in order to fit the demands of the new medium.
Hi! I hope you are doing well 💫
My intials: B.P. (she/her)
DOB: 15 March 2003
3:20 Pm IST, Gurgaon, Haryana, India
I would like to know about my career.
Thank you so much 🫶
Hi🤗 For your reading I am going to use vedic astrology.
WRITING CAREER + PROFESSIONAL LIFE
For the first question if writing is a good career options for you, YES.
I found this tecnique where 10th house sign from the 1st lord in D1 or D9 chart indicates someone's career, in your case falls in aries in D1 chart and gemini in D9 chart.
Career Fields:
D1 Aries so anything related to leadership, sports and fitness/athletics, politics, boss, entrepreneur, healthcare, adventure, engineering, sales, marketing, firefighter, military, law enforcement, research and development, creative arts, etc
D9 Gemini so anything related to education, technology, public relations, communication, media, public speaker, marketing, advertising, travel and tourism, arts, creativity, writer, research, entrepreneur, admnistration, entrepreneur, journalism, consulting, etc.
Furthermore in D1 chart you have 10th lord mars in sagittarius mula in 6th house indicating that your career can be connected to writing and publishing due to mula sagittarius (education/teaching/research/law/philosophy/healing/others); can involve service, routine, organization, discipline and solving conflicts/helping others (6th house), perhaps you heal your readers with your writing, your books can inspire other people, transform their lives (mula); you might experience a lot of obstacles and competition in your career with other writers or issues with your editor for example ( mars 6th house) and go through intense transformative periods (mula) though don't worry you are very determined and hardworking, you will be able to overcome these obstacles and grow even stronger.
If we want to see about financial gains and stability we would need to look at your 2nd lord in D1 you have sun in pisces in 9th house this indicates that you might earn more money in a foreign land (working abroad or with foreigners) or higher education is really important like studying creative writing or liberal arts or philosophy in college can help you succeed and gain recognition in your writing career (pisces is connected to creativity). Since it's aspecting your mars  10th lord it's important that your career allows you to shine individually and work as a leader (you might have issues with your boss/authority figures/teacher so working independently or leading a team is a better option). You must also be careful with high expectations vs reality and idealism vs practicality, how to work creatively in a disciplined way, etc.
Additionally 2nd lord sun is aspecting scorpio ketu in 5th house by 9th aspect indicating possible obstacles related to creativity, hobbies, education, might make you detached from past beliefs related to these themes focusing  on new, inovative or unconventional ways to earn money through learning or higher education for example; you will notice that you earn more money after a transformative (spiritual/intense) period in your life.
2nd lord sun is actually aspecting 6th lord cancer jupiter in 1st house by 5th house which confirms financial growth through service oriented careers, healing, higher education, travelling and expanding the way you see the world (beliefs/philosophies/spirituality), etc.
Since 6th lord jupiter is in cancer conjunct moon, it's essential that your work environment allows you freedom (flexible hours for example), to express yourself, your emotions/feelings; a comfortable/nurturing, positive, open environment (family or mother/female figure could be relevant -> support you) can make you grow; tapping into your emotions (intuition/creativity) to write your books; future spouse could also be working with you or helping you (jupiter is significator of spouse); etc.
Jupiter is aspecting your capricorn venus in 7th house by 7th aspect indicating that your future spouse and relationships/partnerships have a strong influence on your emotional stability at work; you might have a business with them or contract relationships; they might contribute to your sucess; harmony and balance between career and relationships is key👌
Not just that jupiter is aspecting your aquarius mercury(3rd lord ->skills) in 8th house indicating that you might write about deep/unconventional/futuristic/fantasy/occult topics, influencing other people ->healing them; experience transformation in your environment; working with investors,  sharing resources with your spouse or business partners; work in secret maybe you could be an anonymous author; etc.
Lastly jupiter is aspecting taurus saturn + rahu in 11th house by 11th aspect that shows teamwork, working online, media, social connections, professional networking (large companies), innovation are relevant. With saturn energy this can cause delays/obstacles in making connections, with your coworkers, gaining financial stability and fame/success, etc. (you might have to put a lot of effort and be patient; after you saturn return you will see that all your hardwork paid off👀)
The rahu energy can cause chaos, confusion, fluctuations related to your financial gains, professional networks and work environment.
In D10 chart you have gemini 10th house another huge confirmation that your career is related to communication, writing, knowledge,etc.
10th lord mercury is in chitra libra in 2nd house conjunct chitra ketu and swati saturn(6th lord) meaning that you will earn money through creative, innovative, online, media, unconventional, independent, flexible, service oriented (routine), healing, disciplined/practical career fields during a transformative period in your life. It's confirming everything I've said above. Money and sucess in your career can be achieved later in life.
Moreover 10th lord is aspecting 2nd lord aries aswhini venus conjunct Mars and rahu in 8th house by 7th aspect reaffirming transformation, healing, spirituality themes and that money and sucess might come after a transformative period or attaining personal growth.
JOB TIMING
Regarding when you will get a job:
D1 CHART
In D1 chart you have taurus jupiter transiting your 11th house saturn (6th lord) and rahu so there is already a good sign for this year till may 2025 (jupiter brings abundance and luck in professional networking, large companies, fame, etc).
Rahu/ketu pisces/virgo transit is affecting your 2nd lord sun in pisces 9th house bringing you new unconventional ways of earning money, maybe you will travel, work with foreigners, study creative arts; you might also be more recognized/confident in your work environment. ( Be careful with overindulgence, ego, chaos, high expectations vs practicality, illusion vs reality).
NOTE1: Sun is your Darakaraka só you might be meeting your future spouse this year👀👀👀 or if you are already in a relationship 💍.
Aquarius saturn transit is influencing your mercury in 8th house, so you might have been experiencing some challenges/delays perhaps writing blocks, lack of inspiration, issues with your business partners or investors, anxiety/depression, fears of expressing yourself, transformative period, etc.
D7 CHART
In D7 chart you have aquarius saturn transit in your 10th house with mars this can indicate challenges/delays in your career, power struggles with authority figures, business partners, achieving your goals, etc ( Be patient and don't give up🙏)
Taurus jupiter transit is influencing your 10th lord saturn with moon in 1st house so this actually eases the saturn transit in 10th house bringing optimism, abundance and success in your career. So even though you might have delays/obstacles you will be able to overcome it with motivation, positivity, wisdom, discipline and emotional support (perhaps your family/mother figure can help you).
Rahu/ketu pisces/virgo transit is affecting your 11th/5th house (ketu transit is conjunct virgo sun in 5th house) so you might be rethinking about romantic relationships and friendships, personal goals vs social endeavours, new social networks and aspirations/dreams, individuality vs union/teamwork, engaging in spiritual/unconventional activities/hobbies -> inspiration in your writing, changing yourself (transformation on personal expression), etc.
NOTE2: When jupiter, saturn, rahu/ketu are transiting in the same or opposite sign of sun, saturn, rahu/ketu in D7 chart it indicates a major event might happen during this time of your life like meeting your future spouse or a partner, engagement, pregnancy, career,success,fame, breakup, divorce, moving out, etc.(This technique is by Camila Regina from tiktok).
DASHAS/TIME PERIODS/TRANSITS
You are currently running venus-venus-mars dasha (10th lord mars in D1 chart) till 4 september this year. I am leaning towards pisces eclipse in september (affecting your 2nd lord sun in 9th house that is aspecting your 10th lord) you might get a job offer abroad or work with foreigners (foreign company), etc.
Next year 2025 you also have good chances since rahu will be in aquarius after 19 may transiting your mercury in 8th house D1 chart (you will express yourself more, be inspired, etc),  your 10th house in D7 chart bringing opportunities and sucess in your career, your 6th house in D10 chart changing your work environment, daily routine, health, etc; jupiter will be transiting in gemini in may aspecting your 10th lord sagittarius mars in D1 bringing growth and opportunities related to communication/writing fields and affecting your 10th house in D10 chart bringing abundance in your career;  in october you will have your jupiter return in cancer affecting your 6th lord in D1 chart, 11th house (jupiter) in your D10 chart (fame/recognition/luck), among other factors; etc.
If we want to be more specific/accurate there is a technique I am trying out by KRS Kapiel that when the saturn is trine/conjunct transiting your natal moon/saturn you might get a job. You have natal (D1 chart) taurus saturn and cancer moon. So when moon is transiting virgo, taurus and capricorn or saturn transiting in scorpio, cancer, pisces, virgo, capricorn and taurus.
Moon is transiting capricorn 17 august till 19 august (full moon👀 and moon will aspecting your cancer jupiter 6th lord and 7th house venus  -> work/health/contract/love/relationships/business).
Saturn is a slower planet so the next transit will be in pisces next year 2025 in 20 march.
You can check this link to see the moon + saturn transits: https://horoscopes.astro-seek.com/calculate-sidereal-vedic-ephemeris-august-2024/?&aya=lahiri&&presnost=1&
NOTE3: If you notice your sagittarius mars 10th lord and your 2nd lord pisces are both ruled by jupiter (sign ruled) which is in cancer -> cancer/capricorn transits are fundamental.🫰
NOTE4: Accordingly to D1/D7/D10 charts (this technique is from Camila Regina tiktok) you might have sucess or fame when saturn, rahu/ketu are transiting the signs of aries/libra/taurus/scorpio.
Okay I think I am done😅 I hope you like this reading if you do leave feedback on my page🙏 And let me know if it resonates👌it helps improving my readings🫶💜
Leele Ananya Rajan was born in London on April 27th into a close-knit British-Indian Tamil family. Her parents, originally from Tamil Nadu, India, instilled in her a deep appreciation for her cultural heritage. Her mother was a social worker & her father was a university professor. She has a younger sister, Priya, who she shares a close bond with. She was an introspective & academically inclined child, developing a passion for literature early on.
She pursed her Bachelor's degree in English Literature at a prestigious university in London. During her undergrad studies, she participated in a study abroad program, where she met Aaron at a university literary event. The two shared a love for literature & education, & their bond grew quickly. Aaron was immediately captivated by Leela's intellect, her passion for literature, & her cultural heritage. Their conversations flowed effortlessly, revealing shared values & interests. His gentle demeanor & thoughtful nature resonated with Leela, sparking an immediate connection.
After completing her Bachelor's degree, Leela earned a Master's degree in Education, specializing in secondary education & curriculum development.
Aaron was an Antioch native & wanted to return home after his graduation & receiving his degree in Environmental Engineering. And five years ago, Leela moved there with him & it seemed like the perfect place to settle into her environment & start a family. She embraced her new community, appreciating the slower pace of life compared to bustling London.
On their second anniversary of meeting, at a scenic overlook in the Oregon countryside where they often went for natural walks on stargazing, Aaron proposed. A serene, secluded spot overlooking a valley filled with wildflowers; this place had been where they had spent countless hours talking, dreaming, & growing closer to each other. It had also been the place where they had their first serious conversation about their future together. Aaron had incorporated elements from both their cultural backgrounds into the proposal. He laid out a blanket with traditional Cherokee patterns & decorated the area with lanterns & flowers. He prepared a picnic with a mix of traditional Tamil dishes & Indigenous cuisine, reflecting their combined heritage & the blending of their lives. Knowing how much she loved literature, he gave her a. beautifully bound journal filled with his handwritten notes & reflection on their relationship throughout the years, along with passes from their favourite books.
After settling into their new lives, they welcomed their first born son, Ravi, & later their first born daughter, Lila. Aaron was a devoted & loving father, deeply involved in the upbringing of his children He took every opportunity to teach them about their diverse heritage and the importance of environmental stewardship.
On the evening October 5, Aaron was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident while walking home from the store, having bought something for Leela, who was pregnant with Lila at the time. The driver fled the scene, leaving Aaron seriously injured. Emergency services arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Aaron succumbed to his injuries before he could be transported to the hospital. She had been waiting for him at home, Ravi next to her on the couch, ready to say goodnight to his father. The usual routine. Instead, there was a knock at the door & two policeman with sorrow on their faces to inform her of the murder of her fiancé. The sudden and violent nature of the accident left Leela in shock when she received the news late that night. The news of Aaron’s death shattered Leela’s sense of normalcy. She was overwhelmed by grief, compounded by the responsibility of caring for their young children, Ravi and Lila. In the days that followed, Leela faced a whirlwind of emotions and practical concerns. She was thrust into a legal battle as she worked with local authorities to find the perpetrator. The tragedy left her grappling with profound loss and the weight of her new reality.
Chances are, they were closer to Aaron then Leela, but they still have respect & appreciation for the woman. Wanted Connection #3: Book club members ( 0/? ) -- self explanatory.
