*leans over your blog* tell me about the gerita secrets
The plural was perhaps misleading, I realize now, because just like in your post, GerIta IS the secret!
I've recently wrote this fanfic for Ashley's birthday and I'd be very happy if you read it! (But I'm not your mom, you can do whatever you want).
It's set in my Human/Organized Crime AU - so not Gangstatalia, but the real deal.
And Ludwig and Feliciano, hell, pretty much all the HWS characters and my HWS OCs were pretty young when they were thrown into the shark tank, so you can imagine the pressure that they're under. 18 and aside from all the other stress and nightmare inducing shit, in this AU they're also under so much scrutiny. I've explained the basics of the AU in much more detail in this post, but in short, the Organized Crime Part is also influenced by the way aristocracy works, the aspect of stately diplomacy carries over from Hetalia.
Which is how you end up with two 18 year olds, whose flirting is suddenly the talk of the European town and everyone has opinions and projecting their own fears, expectations and problems onto it. Secrecy is a must - here is an excerpt from the fanfic:
“I’m not! People would just talk, no matter what happens!” Feliciano had learnt that by now, which made it much harder to hide his personal goals from everyone. It used to be so easy, mere months ago. In another life, where secrets were harmless fun, a right – not a necessity or a privilege.
The first chapter is four vignettes of various HWS Characters' and their OC friends' impression and thoughts on the relationship. I have it on good authority that it really enhances the teenage awkwardness and tender but eager love of the second chapter, but if you really only want GerIta and their sweet little secrets, then you can also just read chapter 2.

Purely weather related reasons that moving to Scotland was the right thing for me:
-my daughter finished school for summer last Friday. We walked home in the rain and she asked for a hot chocolate. It didn't feel seasonally inappropriate.
-she's been wearing a full on woolly winter jumper around and only feels too warm when running around
-everyone starts complaining when it gets above 70f/21c
-i stepped outside in just a t-shirt and jeans the other day and felt chilly and had to come back in to get a hoodie
-i left my bedroom window open all day and when I came back up around midnight it was so cold the heating had kicked on 😬

Cost of Living In Germany For Indian Students
The cost of living in Germany for Indian students varies depending on the city and lifestyle. On average, monthly expenses including accommodation, food, transportation, and other necessities range from €700 to €1000. Rent constitutes a significant portion of expenses, with shared accommodation or student dormitories being more affordable options. Cooking at home can help save money compared to dining out frequently. Additionally, public transportation offers convenient and relatively inexpensive options for getting around. Students can also benefit from discounts on cultural events, entertainment, and transportation with a valid student ID. Overall, while living costs in Germany may initially seem higher compared to India, the quality of life, educational opportunities, and access to various amenities make it a worthwhile investment in one's academic and personal development.
Type of Cost of Living in  Germany
Certainly, here are some categories that comprise the cost of living in Germany:
Accommodation: This includes rent for housing, whether it's a shared apartment, student dormitory, or private accommodation.
Food and Groceries: Expenses for groceries purchased at supermarkets or local markets, as well as dining out at restaurants, cafes, or fast-food chains.
Transportation: Costs related to public transportation such as buses, trams, trains, and subway systems, as well as expenses for occasional taxi rides or bike rentals.
Healthcare: Mandatory health insurance premiums for students, covering basic medical services and emergencies.
Utilities: Monthly expenses for utilities like electricity, heating, water, internet, and sometimes garbage disposal.
Study Materials: Costs associated with textbooks, stationery, and other academic materials needed for coursework.
Personal Expenses: Miscellaneous expenses for clothing, toiletries, personal care items, and leisure activities.
Communication: Expenses for mobile phone plans, internet services, and possibly a landline phone if desired.
Travel and Leisure: Budget for recreational activities, travel within Germany or neighboring countries, cultural events, movies, and other entertainment options.
Miscellaneous: Any additional costs that may arise, such as banking fees, visa fees, or unexpected expenses.
Money-Saving Tips in Germany for Indian Students write in bullet points
Shared Accommodation: Opt for shared apartments (WG) or student dormitories to split rent costs with roommates, making housing more affordable.
Cooking at Home: Prepare meals at home rather than eating out frequently to save on food expenses. Explore local markets for fresh and affordable produce.
Student Discounts: Take advantage of student discounts available for public transportation, cultural events, museums, and entertainment venues with a valid student ID.
Second-Hand Shopping: Consider purchasing clothing, furniture, and household items from thrift stores, flea markets, or online platforms to save money.
Budgeting: Create a monthly budget to track expenses and prioritize spending on essential items, while cutting back on non-essential purchases.
Free Activities: Explore free or low-cost activities such as hiking, picnics in parks, attending university events, or joining student clubs for recreational opportunities.
Travel Smart: Use budget-friendly transportation options like regional trains or bus passes for travel within Germany, and plan trips in advance to take advantage of discounted fares.
Part-Time Work: Explore part-time job opportunities to supplement income, keeping in mind the restrictions on working hours for international students.
Energy Efficiency: Practice energy-saving habits such as turning off lights and appliances when not in use to reduce utility bills.
Banking Fees: Choose a student bank account with minimal or no fees for transactions and ATM withdrawals, and consider using online banking services to avoid additional charges.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, while the cost of living in Germany may initially seem daunting for Indian students, careful planning and budgeting can help manage expenses effectively. With prudent choices such as opting for shared accommodation, cooking at home, and taking advantage of student discounts, living costs can be significantly reduced. Additionally, embracing a frugal lifestyle, exploring free or low-cost activities, and considering part-time work opportunities can further alleviate financial strain. With responsible financial management and a willingness to adapt, students can thrive and succeed in Germany without compromising their academic pursuits or personal well-being.

Help Bilal's Family Survive!
After Bilal @bilal-salah0 reached his goal on August 1st, he contacted me to let me know that, because the Rafah crossing is still bombed and closed, he can't actually use the funds to evacuate his family right away. The funds have since been redirected toward the skyrocketing cost of living in Gaza.
His family now has to raise another €30,000 as soon as possible to sustain themselves before the Rafah crossing opens, which could be as soon as next week for all we know.
My post celebrating Bilal getting close to his original GFM goal has over 7,000 notes, yet Bilal is only bringing in €20 every hour or so, which is a sharp decline from his previous momentum.
Bilal is still struggling with his own housing insecurity in Germany and the looming threat of deportation. Despite this horror, he's put the work in to vet a handful of fundraisers, promote fundraisers, and call out scams for us. He is simply too busy to campaign for his family on his own.
I encourage everyone to donate to Bilal's family and share his campaign with people you know on other social media platforms. You can repost any of the art people have made for him and share the pictures on his gofundme.
Bilal is a valuable member of our community! Please don't let him fall through the cracks!

‏My heart breaks into millions of pieces whenever my brothers are able to send me pictures of the kids. Seeing their innocent smiles amidst all the suffering fills my family and I with as much courage as it does with pain. It's not merely the walls of the house they were supposed to grow up in that have been reduced to rubble; Precious irreplaceable moments of their childhood along with so many hopes and dreams have also gone up in smoke. Due to the ongoing genocide and constant dispalcement, they have been robbed of the simplest of joys like going to school or having fun at playgrounds, since all those supposedly safe spaces have been destroyed. Instead, they have to wait in endless lines for some polluted water, fend off insects and endure the unbearable heat in the tent. Not only that, but our children and newborns live in an unhealthy hazardous environment due to the piles of waste and filthy sewage water surrounding them leading to the spread of disease including all types of skin rash and bacterial and viral infections.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‏what makes it even worse is the shortage, if not total absence, of medical care, medicines, and hygiene pruducts.
‏ Desdpite everything, my family have been trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy for the children's sake. Some teachers in the camp set up a tent to help kids learn and forget their daily struggle, so my brother and sister have been taking my nephews and nieces there. It's not perfect but it made the little ones really happy. It is literally an ordeal to provide ingredients and even cook food every day. However, my family have been doing their best to make some treats for the children and also get them some stationery but it costs a fortune to buy the most basic items now in Gaza if they are ever available.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‏My family's day to day expenses keep increasing due to the blockade and skyrocketing prices. It cost them a packet (300 euros) to only buy the smallest gas bottle which they couldn't believe they could find in the first place. They have been using it sparingly since it's considered some type of luxury now. After losing my job and due to my own struggles in Germany, I haven't been able to provide for them as I used to so I was forced to send them donation money meant for their evacuation which does not seem very likely at the moment. That's why a great amount of the funds has been exhausted to help my family pay for their ever rising daily expenditures, and I had no choice but to increase the goal of the fundraiser from the thankfully raised €70000 to €100000.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
‏cannot begin to imagine what would've become of everyone if it weren't for your generous support. Words fail to descibe how grateful I am to all of you. I sincerely wish I didn't have to but I have no other option but to ask for your help again. Every member in my family, especially the children and newborns, is in dire need of any contribution whether it is a reblog or donation. They are literally fighting for their very survival so please continue to help them get through this insufferable hardship as you always have. I truly trust you will 🙏

By offering free basic and higher education, the German government hopes to ensure equal educational opportunities for all residents while also advancing the nation's trade and economy. The country is quite desirable as a study destination because academic programs are tuition-free, even for international students.
