unfortunately i got sick right before the weekend, so now my freetime that would normally be poured into creating art is being used for sleeping and being angry at God; i did manage to scribble out a revised outfit design for MH ryou, though. guy that looks like he volunteers at the library every week

okay. to be fair i haven't watched the episode in 2 years so forgive like. holes. if there are any. but LIKE. IF ASH TOOK THAT, HE WOULD HAVE LIKELY BEEN FINE. HE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO ELECTRIC ATTACKS LIKE THIS MANY TIMES, ON PURPOSE ON SOME OCCASIONS MIGHT I ADD. CLEMONT DIDN'T NEED TO DO THIS. The fact he did though is really awesome to me. because it's something he would never do. in this moment, Clemont is mirroring the courage he sees Ash demonstrate. I'm sure that up to this point he's seen Ash do many crazy things -- i can only remember he's seen Ash jump off the prism tower with no hesitation up to this point. sigh. But yeah. Clemont studies this boy silently. Clemont observes, and becomes a little bit more of a person he can be happy with. In this scene he REALLY shows what he's picked up. it's awesome i love this episode i love this scene

lil update post thats mostly rambling tbh

i'm feeling a bit better after a few days of not letting myself ruminate on everything so much. still don't have electricity tho </3 but things are getting better slowlyy. i even managed to draw a lil too

i've adjusted a good bit more to the routine at this point. a lot of people are still struggling out there and once i get my electricity back i'm gonna spread some more resources since wayyy more are available & up-to-date now than what's in my initial post about all this, but for now i'm just lettin y'all know i'm still truckin along 👍

also i wanna give another thanks to yall for spreading that post around so much, even if it's slowed down a lil by now. for those first few days it really felt like we were completely isolated from the world and nobody knew or cared, but i've seen a huge increase in people talking about our situation here since then and it's been surprisingly uplifting. one of the reasons appalachians are such hardheaded motherfuckers is because we're used to having to help each other rather than rely on folks outside the mountains, but seeing y'all expressing sympathies and wanting to help however you can, even if you don't live nearby, has made me feel so much better about our ability to come back from this.

If Charles found out about the prophecy before Black Fire Upon Us, i.e. before he dies/(almost dies??? I've never been fully clear on if he really died or just let everyone believe he did) like would he be stressed out about it?

They have to elaborate like "Well, like, yes but it's fine!!! You get to come back or whatever bestie don't sweat it!"

like would he be worried about that? is that something that would cause concern? every time something starts to go wrong and the fans and klokateers start dropping like flies, would it make charles sweat like "oh god when is it gonna happen oh god"

the quinn and babyface scene is imo the most fucked up part of mota and its stuck with me the most and it sucks that quinn kind of disappears because i wish we got to delve into what going through all that and having to actively make a decision that means your crew member dies does to a person (and maybe even interrogate why he was even put in that position in the first place)

so what's your take on the bioware layoffs/ dragon age game situation? (asking cause u briefly mentioned in tags on that post)

oof that's a big question, anon.

to put it simply, I don't think there is one singular answer- Bioware/EA treated staff like shit, the very same staff that made this game possible- that is not up for debate.

does that mean the game should be boycotted? I can only assume that some people will believe that, many others won't because honestly trying to dodge products that have come from ethically/morally dubious sources in today's society is almost impossible.

there's also the fact that those same staff members and those that remain put so much time and effort into the game either way- is it the right thing to ignore the game completely, if that's the case?

it's not ideal, no. in my own selfish way I desperately want the game to be good, to experience the thrill of a new game and the fandom madness that goes with it. it most likely won't be a perfect game (is any game?) and we have to look at how the layoffs and treatment of staff may have impacted that.

but... i choose to remain hopeful, i guess. maybe its just the nostalgia goggles. i don't believe there's a clear cut answer- it's for each person to decide for themselves, it's too nuanced.

Spent my ENTIRE full hour 10 break growling about how there wasn't an available charging stall for my car, only for a car to pull out of a stall in the last 5 minutes, to reveal that there was actually an available stall next to it the entire time.

thank God it's finally the time of year I can turn off my ac and just Not die of heat stroke. 73 inside is just Barely too warm but still comfortable and with a little fan on it's perfect temp.
