I think I want to try out using neopronouns but I have no idea where to start or how to find ones that fit me. Any advice on what to do?
asks :: how to pick out neos
hello, anon!
first of all, thank you so much for asking! as always we really appreciate asks.
to start, lets look at pronouns as a whole. pronouns are little grammar nicknames to help sentences flow better. but they are, at their core, nicknames. keep this in mind when trying on pronouns you like. pronouns also MAY or MAY NOT be related to gender. just like someone can use he/him without identifying as a boy, you can use fairy/fairyself without having a xenogender relating to fairies.
next, lets look into neopronouns a little more. plain neopronouns include non-words such as xi/xer, xe/xem, ix/ixes, li/lius, and more of course. these are more sounds than words. then theres xenopronouns, a subcategory of neopronouns. these are word pronouns, such as meow/meowself and love/loveself. there is also another category of neopronouns, which is emoji pronouns, which are for online use only. these are pronouns like 💗/💗self, 🔪/🔪self, 🌸/🌸self and more. since i don’t know what exact set of neopronouns you’d like suggestions for, i’m going to go forward with this post assuming you want recommendations for all of them.
finally, how to find pronouns that fit you. at the end of this post i’ll include some more popular / common pronouns that seem to be loved all around so you have somewhere to start.
how to find plain neopronouns to fit you can be hard to explain, since everyones experience is unique. however, asking yourself if you want masculine sounding or feminine or even androgynous sounding pronouns can be really helpful! now, all neopronouns are completely gender neutral, but you may find some sounding more masculine to you or more feminine to you. i do recommend that after you decide that (or if your not sure and just want to continue with the pronouns) is just see what sounds fit you and try to spell them out. i’ve made some really neat pronouns this way!
xenopronouns are easier to pick out in my opinion. ask yourself things like, “what kind of objects, aesthetics, or characters am i drawn to or feel a connection too?”. try to make a list of everything you can come up with. you can try to make pronouns out of these yourself, or see if anyone has made themed lists based off of them! (if you can’t find any lists, feel free to request some!)
picking emoji pronouns will be similar to picking xenopronouns except that emojis are finite. list out aesthetics, objects, and emotions you really like or have a connection to. then, see if you can describe these things in emojis.
pronoun masterlists can often be overwhelming and hard for beginners, so i don’t really recommend trying to do it first thing. however, i’d like to include one for you anyways. please use it to your content, and don’t feel pressured at all either!
thats all the guidance i’ll be able to give for now. if you still feel like you need more help, feel free to make another ask or DM me so i can hear out the problem in more specifics! anyways, heres the starter pronouns i promised ♡
plain neopronouns:;
it / its / itself
xe / xem / xemself
xi / xir / xirs / xerself
ix / ixes / ixself ve / vem / vir / viers / vierself
ir / irs / irself
ai / ais / aiself
cu / cue / cues / cueself zie / zir / zirself ne / nim / nir / nirs / nirself
xenopronouns:; fee / fi / fo / fum / fumself (started as a joke but grew popular!) meow / meows / meowself thorn / thorns / thornself one / ones / oneself pers / persons / personself end / ends / endself faun / fauns / faunself fae / faes / faeself bun / buns / bunself
emoji pronouns:;
💕 / 💕self
🫀 / 🫀self
🍡 / 🍡self
🍼 / 🍼self
🥩 / 🥩self
🧋 / 🧋self
💫 / 💫self
☀️ / ☀️self
🌙 / 🌙self
🌕 / 🌕self
🌊 / 🌊self
that’s all for now! thank you for reading!

I'm just figuring out how important music is in my life! This is coming from a long while trying to cut down on my music use, mostly because I was listening to it so much that it felt more like I couldn't do anything without popping in some earbuds, and partially because of other personal reasons. Some of my routines changed, forcing me to not listen to music while doing certain things, and it ended up becoming that besides working on homework or drawing, I didn't listen to music at all. But I've given myself a break today since I have nothing to do and since, for reasons, I'm feeling just a lil crappy today—and boy, I'm starting to realize again just why I love music!!
I love the diverse music taste I've developed over the years! My family is not only big about music but big about listening to it loud, so the majority of my music taste for most of my life has just been Christian hiphop (Lecrae, KB, Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, and ironically Tonex, whose album where he was struggling hard with his gayness has been my favorite concert movie since I was 5) and gospel music (Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, etc.). And music was one of the few connections between me and my race (I grew up feeling pretty estranged from my blackness as a kid, but the popular songs they played at the YMCA in the 2010s were some of the few things I could use to feel more connected) and between me and my classmates/friends at the Y (I still have fond memories of playing FNAF songs in mat forts and reciting lyrics at pool parties). But I got tired of knowing I could never bond with anyone besides family friends music taste-wise when I was in high school, and so I started listening to secular music on my own time. And that's how I first found Ghost and Pals, a vocaloid artist and one of the first secular music folks I listened to as a kid (can you smell the religious trauma yet? Lol), and that's how I bonded with one of my best friends in early college (ironically, also my first time being publically queer). Now I listen to Kpop, anime songs, songs from warriors MAPs, songs from musicals (Hamilton and In the Heights <3), latin songs, metal songs, and even some secular songs young me would've been too scared to listen to.
And music has always been one of my biggest sources of stimming! I can't dance to save my life, but music will sure get me to flick my fingers and hit my fist against my shoulder furiously. Music was one of the first clues that I like stimming with vibration too (since I love laying against the car door and turning up the music loud enough to feel the world shake around me). And music was one of the first things that made me look into ADHD or autism (specifically, listening to Ghost and Pals songs for a month straight and getting my friend at early college [who also has ADHD] to start looking at me funny when I was discovered doing chores and listening to one of three songs for the fifth time). Music is so cool it'll get me to wax poetically. It was one of the things that kept me together during my roughest times and soothed me during my best. I listen to it while I write, while I cry, while I hang out with my friends and family and while I chill by myself. It's how I relax after a long day, and it's how I feel safe. I feel kinda emotional finally having music hit that spot in me without feeling like I need it to do stuff.
#songs listened to while writing this post:#Tell Your Girlfriend by Lay Bankz#Get Up (Live) by Tye Tribbett#the Oshi no Ko OP song for season 1 (by Yoasobi) - which I ironically found before getting into Oshi no Ko#Waterfalls Coming Out Your Mouth by Glass Animals#Como Fue by 116#Creator (a Minecraft song I picked up from my college friend J)#The Ultimate Soldier (Evangelion)#Reckless Battery Burns by Ghost and Pals#Uncanny x Deathbody remix by Ghost and Pals#Watch Me Work (Trolls 3)#Mount Rageous (Trolls 3)#Better Place (Trolls 3)#Hayloft 2 by Mother Mother#Hayloft 2 Smashup by Mother Mother#Don't You Worry About a Thing (the Sing movie)#Mama by My Chemical Romance (found through a warriors MAP [yes the one you're thinking of])#Gossip by Måneskin#Looking at my playlists getting more and more secular songs feels like healing#but I also love that I can still listen to gospel hiphop or gospel music without feeling ashamed or (completely) embarrassed#(except for Bizzle but that was always more of my dad's music taste anyway)#also yes I have tinnitus how could you guess? Haha but for real it feels like an okay sacrifice to me (more like a battle wound for loving#music so much - but everyone else please use ear protection if you can! Tinnitus doesn't bother me too much but it could you!)#fenn rambles#gonna use this tag for my favorite rants and rambles that I'm most proud of hehe#(also this is an excuse to not leave some non-alterhuman-themed or non-neopronouns-themed stuff untagged >:3)#music#(also I went to a KB concert recently and it was HYPE)#(and I went to Winter Jam in Mobile and it was legitimately one of the best concert experiences in my life - Lecrae >>>>#love his new album hehehe)

IN OTHER NEWS I FINISHED TRANSLATION STATE LAST NIGHT the ending had me sobbing not bc it's sad at all but WAAAAA
#i have not stopped thinking abt qven and reet for a single minute since i started reading#just. seeing a character who experienced an extremely traumatic violation of both eir trust + body find someone who not only respects-#eir boundaries but naturally creates a space for em where e feels safe enough to trust him + open up to intimacy again#OURGHHHHHH. I had to go out to the park alone and walk around in the dark and pouring rain for an hour just to feel normal after that#the way reets family were so immediately accepting of em and basically adopted em on the fucking spot too 😭😭#I loved enae as well the exploration of hir grief + complex feelings towards hir family was so well done#also rly cool to see an older protagonist ESPECIALLY an older nonbinary person I was thinking how incredibly rare that is#all the protags arcs just meshed so well together as an exploration of the themes. v well constructed book#ann leckie got me wanting to use neopronouns now goddamn#ALSO SPHEEENNNNEEE god i missed it so much 😭😭😭😭😭 i might have to reread the ancillary justice series soon#weird dimensional tech + cannibalistic body fusion have gotta be 2 of my fave ever sff features too. books that were written JUST for me#the presger translators were one of the most intriguing parts of the ancillary series im so glad leckie picked that back up!!!!#1 million thoughts. anyway I think matching w someone would fix me who want to melt into each other and become a single multibodied being#.diaries

um ok i actually went into ao3 to see if i was maybe not the only person this specific kind of insane on the internet and. well i might be because there were zero hits but there's actually an unexpected [1] amount of agatha christie fics?? 1-2 for specific books. as for specific detectives: 2 for parker pyne. 10 for tommy and tuppence. 14 for mr quin. 159 for miss marple. 341 for poirot. slay.
[1] maybe it shouldn't be given she's a powerhouse best-seller
#a lot of it seems to be just detective stories etc but there is in fact poirot smut. go grandpa!#anyway for those who don't know agatha christie books take up more than a shelf of my bookshelf. maybe a third of my physical books are her#mostly bc its easy to pick up a pocket edition for funsies at the bookshop (used or new) + i mostly read ebooks these days (thanks libgen)#contemporary sff / horror can be hard to find physical bc they dont always get translated. those that do take a while#like maybe i wasnt paying attention but i only saw gideon the ninth in the flesh this year#it was a hardcover even. yuck. i wonder how they translated some of the jokes#i know that when i read the magnus chase books they didn't translate singular they properly it was so sucks#like babe you can afford to do research on gender neutral language in your country. we have like five neopronouns just pick one#just use elu instead of writiing a nonsensical plural 'eles' in the middle of the sentence. come on.#i never did finish that series. is it still coming out? i read the first two books and theyre fine but theyre teen books

Rue:
Submitted for: Skyblock Kingdoms
Headcanons: Identity not specified, pronouns not specified
Propaganda: “Her whole character arc is a metaphor for being trans! She realized she wasn't who she was told she was and then chose her own name and made friends who saw her as HER! They're so special and wonderful and transgender!!”
“[The submitter] LITERALLY INCLUDED HER IN A PAPER [they] WROTE BECAUSE SHE IS SO TRANS.”
“Rue is not just textually trans, with she/they pronouns, she is ALSO a trans allegory! That's TWO trans aspects!”
“Rue is LITERALLY a trans allegory! They have a whole arc about realizing people are viewing them as the wrong person, creating a new identity, being hurt by that confusion, being lied to and told they need to act a certain way for people to like them.... THEYRE A CLONE OF A GUY WHO USES ALL PRONOUNS. THEY USE SHE/THEY PRONOUNS! THEY WERE TRAGICALLY KILLED BY THEIR ORIGINAL'S WIFE (possessed) AND DESERVE A WIN!!”
BigBSt4tz2:
Submitted for: Evo SMP, Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life, Secret Life, Wild Life
Headcanons: Trans man, he/they
Propaganda:
“The vibe. They're so trans man coded. Like he would use a binder in the life series and, like, for example, Pearl would help him with it in Limited life, or Ren would help them cut their hair in Double life if he felt like being less gender ✨ He's just so trans man 😩 VOTE BIGB.”
“HE CAN BE ANY GENDER YOU'D WANT DUE TO CREATIVITY. I'VE SEEN MANY MAKE BIGB TRANSFEM OR NONBINARY!!!! YOU CAN EVEN MAKE HIM XENOGENDER OR USE NEOPRONOUNS FOR FUN.“
“C!Bigb being trans is so important. His character is very ambiguous (to [the submitter]. At least.) due to the hidden secretive nature of himself, he hides the lies, he masks his weirdness sometimes [which] can be a metaphor for a trans person not wanting to come out (also autism)((proof is [they’re] trans and autistic and [they] do this stuff)). You can color pick a makeshift trans flag from his mc skin also.”
“Every (Life) series, he changes up a lot of himself for whatever he's doing. This seems like he can't decide what exactly he is and is trying to rebrand himself as a different type of person every time, which tends to be something [the submitter has] noticed in a few trans people. The lack of clarity of who they are is definitely very genderfluid coded. It could also go for his character throughout the life series being a system, with each new series being someone else. [Their] main evidence for this is Terry (from Last Life). It can also go for being transmasc on some level because of how easy it was for him to be that character!”
“BigB's username literally has t4t in it. He's not cis [the submitter’s] sorry.”
Ethoslab:
Submitted for: Hermitcraft, Third Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life, Secret Life, Wild Life
Headcanons: Agender, they/them; Transfem, she/her; Nonbinary, he/they/she; Nonbinary, they/he/it; Identity not specified, ladder/ladderself
Propaganda: “[The submitter] just think[s] she deserves boobies. [They] think they would be good for her. And also it's because [they] understand the way the universe flows and the nature of all things.”
“[Quote from Etho:]‘I’m ice man also, also the ice Queen […] yep, yep both in one.’ Etho has compared himself to a pretty girl before. ‘That’s me on the inside, beautiful, but on the outside it’s just this.’ (He’s talking about Falsesymmetry’s hermit head, a female head). Bigender, genderfluid, or genderqueer Etho trust trust trust.”
“T4T cletho. They’re both nonbinary and divorced (in an active relationship) and take turns on who's the ex wife and who's the ex husband.”
“When [the submitter] first joined hermitblr, [they were] genuinely confused about Etho’s gender for a bit because of the sheer amount of people on here that she/her him. [They] love it. Live your dreams.”
“Etho (ftm) but can be feminine. [The submitter] think[s] his vest is equal to the famous oversized trans hoodie (but with style).”

sam is he/they and has that very classic multi pronoun user "people only call me by my most 'normal' pronoun" experience, and half the reason he's so set on being decent to gwen is she's the only cis person he knows who will regularly toss a "they" in there. alice really likes the idea of neopronouns and has tried some out on occasion, but they don't really agree with her and she keeps coming back to she/her. as much as she likes to be cool and outré, this is also a woman who got to pick her own name and went with "alice." godbless. gwen has some Gender Thoughts sometimes but she also has a real complex about being the only woman in her generation in her extended family and she wouldn't know how to reconcile that with not actually being 100% a woman, so anytime she starts to stare down that abyss she gets scared and pretends it didn't happen. celia is cis+, she did a bunch of gender questioning and arrived back at her starting place but slightly cooler now. she kinda likes the idea of using he pronouns as a woman but she's not sure enough about it to tell anyone. lena would be it/she (heavy preference for it) if she ever left her office long enough to develop a personality. colin's too exhausted to have pronouns, he could not care less about any of it, as long as he can tell you're talking about him he doesn't even notice.

At some point I need to get around to drawing a comic I've had in my head for months where Ford tries to explain his sexuality using terminology he picked up out in the multiverse, and the explanation has to pass like a game of telephone through like three people who translate it into something Stan can understand.
The only problem is the joke hinges on assuming somewhere in Gravity Falls are two people who are well-versed in specific modern queer language, and I just don't think that's true.
To be clear I think LOTS of people in Gravity Falls are queer; I just think they're totally out of touch with the broader national queer community. They informally recognized gay marriage decades before the rest of Oregon on the grounds of "oh so you're saying I can legally marry a BIRD but not ANOTHER MAN?!" but while the rest of the nation was deciding how they felt about the split-attraction model or neopronouns, Gravity Falls' secret werewolf community was trying to explain having a sexuality that fluctuates with the moon phases without admitting they're werewolves. I think there are more people in that town who understand the term "lunarsexual" than "queerplatonic."

i had a dream that akito was speaking spanish at me and made me cry so 90% of this is based on that
ena:
wants to learn spanish
it’s too hard
she gave up
she picked up french
she likes french
she’s at conversation level in french but she still really wants to speak spanish
any time she tries to learn spanish she’s distraught and gives up
akito:
speaks mexican spanish
learned it out of spite of ena
toya is teaching him english
he teaches an spanish curse words
an:
knows how to swear fluently in 4+ languages
speaks B2 turkish
mizuki taught her a little arabic
toya:
Speaks (excluding canon) french, javanese, hebrew, mandarin, latin, korean, and german
his dad forced him to study langauges
despite this he still likes learning languages
he wishes he didn’t speak french because his father made him learn to impress his friends
people like hearing him speak french because his voice is nice so he keeps practicing
his dad made him learn german as a “backup plan” in case toya sucked that bad at classical music (germany has really good education)
he could tell you about all the countries where they speak all those languages (idk how to explain it. if you’re polylingual and/or are learning languages you’d understand)
kohane:
toya is teaching her german
duolingo gave her ptsd
she’s also learning polish
I’m 99.99% sure she doesn’t speak english canonically so now she speaks conversation level
she’s dabbled in western culture (from her gangster era or whatever it’s called because she started listening to rap)
she goes by a lot of neopronouns now btw
you’re welcome

Bored and yearning. Here's some Arcade x transmasc headcanons
- Will gladly help you with T shots or T gel. He's always very careful about it every time he helps out
- Reminds you (if pre-op/no-op and binding) to take breaks from wearing your binder and gives you back massages if your back hurts from it
- If post-op and had just gotten top surgery, he'd do basically everything for you. Getting you food, reaching things for you, letting you rest in bed, and even helping you change your bandages. Every time he has to leave your side for something he gives you a quick kiss on the forehead
- If strictly no-op, he'd assure you he's still very attracted to you whether you get surgery or not. He'd probably even be a little envious of you for being more comfortable as yourself than he is, but it never makes him bitter. If anything he admires you
- If post-op and healed, he'd love to lay with you and trace over your scars with his hands. He finds it hot and thinks it makes you more "rugged"
- Thinks you're very awesome just for existing despite troubles you might face. You inspire him to slowly take better care of himself for you
- Constantly researching more efficient ways to medically transition, excitedly tells you about any breakthroughs he makes even if they're small
- Willing to defend you with his LIFE. Will chew out transphobes with both scientific backing and insult them at the same time, also willing to deck someone in the face if they get too ballsy around you (he always acts embarrassed afterwards though. He doesn't like violence but loves you enough to resort to it if needed)
- Learns about transgender/queer history both in pre-war and post-war times and tells you anything about it he thinks you'd find interesting
- Lets you wear his clothes if yours are dirty or damaged. Sometimes even excitedly insists on it because he loves how you look in his clothes
- Lets you use his razor if you need to shave and don't have one. He makes sure to sanitize it after use so you don't have to worry about shared germs
- Writes your new name down on his hand if you pick a new one. Very intent on memorizing it as best he can
- If you use xenopronouns/neopronouns, he loves hearing about it because he thinks it's a fascinating use of linguistics
- Just genuinely thinks you're the coolest guy ever. He'd be happy to have you around and gets depressed when you're away. Probably even talks about you a lot
- Excited at any progress in your transition. Whether it's physical changes or simply seeing you happy to be yourself, it makes him overjoyed to see you happy
#thats all for now. obv not all of these apply to every trans guy but im hoping its varied enough#also i hope it doesnt sound like im picturing him as a chaser 😭 just jotting down things id like from my perspective#vinny rambles#fallout new vegas#arcade gannon#arcade gannon x reader

Pride month is officially over everyone, and I just wanted to say...
YOU'RE STILL AWESOME! And you still deserve to be proud and loved and honored even if it isn't pride month anymore.
There's A LOT under the cut, be warned.
All you gay guys out there are AMAZING! I hope you're doing okay. I hope you're having fun. I hope life is well. Don't ever let anyone make fun of you for being gay, don't be ashamed, OWN IT! You're amazing and you should be proud.
Lesbians, that goes for you too! I how your doing woman loving WODERFULLY! You're so cool. Doesn't matter what kind of lesbian you are, femme, masc, non-binary, you're all valid and awesome!
Bisexuals, you exist and you're cool as hell. I hope you're doing good. Don't ever feel like you have to pick a side or you're just confused, I know there's been a lot of biphobia going around even within the queer community but don't let it get to you! You're valid! And we love you <3
Pansexuals, I hope you're doing PANTASITIC (I hate myself). I hope everything is going good and I hope you all have had a wonderful pride. You're all super cool and I'm so sorry for the amount of frying pan jokes you've probably heard over the past month.
Omnisexual, you too! Just the word omnisexual sounds cool as hell. I hope you've been okay, I know omnisexuals and pansexuals get confused for each other quite a bit, but you're unique and you're valid, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Asexuals, hi! I hope you're doing well. Be proud, don't let the aphobia get to you! Because you are ALL valid. This one is for everyone on the ace spectrum. You're sex-repulsed? VALID! I hope you're doing well. You're sex neutral? Cool! You're awesome. You have sex regularly and enjoy it? Awesome! You can still be a valid asexual, don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise. You're demisexual, graysexual, or another sexuality on the ace spectrum? That's wonderful! I love you all.
Aromantic people, no matter what part of the spectrum you're on, you're valid too! Even if you're in a romantic relationship, you're still valid! It's a spectrum for a reason. I hope you're all doing amazing, no matter what.
Non-Binary folks, hello! I hope you're doing well and you've had lots of good luck. I know, at least where i live, it can be difficult to find places that affirm your identity. There are barely any gender neutral bathrooms, most job resumes/surveys only add male and female options, people assume gender ALL THE TIME. It sucks. But I hope you've been staying strong despite all that, and I hope the world can get better. Remember you're all valid! Even if you don't "look non-binary", even if you choose to dress traditionally masculine or feminine, even if you use neopronouns or pronouns other than they/them, even if you don't have an androgynous name, you're all still non-binary, be proud!
Trans boys, we love you. You're awesome, you're strong, you're amazing, and I hope everything's alright! Never let anyone tell you how you have to present. If you don't wanna bind your chest, you don't have to. If you can't afford medicine or surgeries, that's okay. If you still wanna dress femininely, you can! You're a real man and the queer community wouldn't be the same without you.
Trans girls, the same to you! You don't have to present super femininely if you don't wanna, you're a real woman no matter what. I hope you're staying safe. I know trans women are often a scapegoat (aka. "Trans women will assault 'real women' in restrooms!"), but we know the truth. You're awesome, and please stay safe out there <3
Polyamorous people, I see you! I might be one of you but idk yet I'm still figuring stuff out- ANYWAYS! You are real. You don't have to choose one person, I promise. I grew up with parents that were really against polyamory for some reason, and I just don't get it. You can love multiple people, you are valid, and I hope you can find a partner/partners who accept you and love you for who you are.
Unlabeled people, happy pride! Be proud of yourself, you're super cool. You don't have to be anything, you can just be you. You belong here, and the queer community accepts you and loves you for who you are.
OKAY. That was a lot, but we still have more to go! I'm not gonna say as much about the next ones for the sake of my own sanity, I've already been writing this for a while. So, LIGHTNING ROUND!
Genderfluid people, I love you. You're awesome and I see you, don't let anybody tell you you've gotta pick a side.
Demi boys/Demi girls, HI! I remember you, and I love you. I hope you had a good pride month!
Agender people, hell yeah for you!
Intersex people, don't think I'd forget you! You're part of pride too and anyone who says otherwise is dumb. You're awesome.
Abrosexual and abromantic people, you're wonderful <3
Polysexual people, you're cool!
Trixic and toric people y'all are awesome!
Enbian people, you're amazing and also your flag is really goddamn cool, I don't see enough people bringing up the enbian flag istg-
Uranic people, you're marvelous.
Neptunic people I'M ONE OF YOU, I SEE YOU! HI! HELLO! If there are any other neptunic people here hi omg I've never met another one-
ANYWAYs. That was a lot. There were a lot of orientations I didn't mention, but there are so many ways to describe your unique sexual orientation, and you can express gender in so many different ways, and my hands really hurt. So if I didn't mention you, I'm sorry, but it doesn't mean you aren't valid or that i forgot you!
I love all of you. Just because pride month is over doesn't mean you're forgotten or loved any less. I hope you all have a wonderful, WONDERFUL rest of your year, and I wish you all good luck <3

If you had to rank the Niji girls based on how trans they feel to you, how's it lay out?
Karin, Emma and Kanata invented being transgender so everyone should thank them.
Yu is Yes. Everything. But also nothing? Whoulgh??
Rina is a trans catgirl who sleeps in a cardboard box. Her estrogen pills are shaped like little fishes.
Mia "The Egg" Taylor.
Setsuna isn't really fussed about zer gender per se but loves neopronouns because they sound cool. And xe's correct.
I don't really pick up The Vibes from Shizu, Lanzhu, Ai, Pom or Shio but I still have faith in them.
Am I being too mean to Kasu? I swear it's out of love
(This isn't so much a ranking as it's more a rough categorization)

coming from an enby whos tme (tho i myself am not transmasc), i feel like a lot of transmasc people are doing this "have their cake and eat it too" thing where they want to be perceived as men or men adjacent, in our society a part of the oppressor class, while also still wanting to benefit from structures meant to protect against said class. specifically ones that have been set up in queer spaces. ive met quite a few trans men who were just as vehemently misogynysitic as your average dude bro. and (this is speculation based on convos ive had with trans men im not in every transmascs head) a lot of transmascs have a lot of internalized misogyny that they project onto trans women. ive had an irl ex friend of mine say something that i think encapsulates this particular issue fairly well. this was like 8 years ago, we were talking about trans rep in media (specifically orange is the new black iirc) so im paraphrasing; 'its messed up that we (afabs in this context) are sidelined for people who used to be men, we cant escape the patriarchy.' that was horribly transmisogynistic, so lets unpack it.
it assumes that trans women are just men
it assumes sex essentialism, that they and i were just women. that we were just poor Females having 'our space' encroached on by mean 'former men.'
im not saying that all transmascs think like this ofc. #notallmen. im saying that some do, and enough transmascs have internalized misogyny and not enough self reflection.
just because you are trans doesnt mean you are immune to bigotry and recouping oppressive structures. none of us are free of Sin™️. you as an individual have to make an effort to reflect on your thoughts and actions and how they might affect yourself and others, so that you are not a willing participant of our communities oppression.
for example, ive talked a lot privately about my journey to being a better person, (and pobodies nerfect, its always a learning process, you always will have things you can improve on. and thats okay, were all just human) i initially hated it/its pronouns. 'it' gave me the ick. i was called 'it' as a kid incessantly to make fun of my gender presentation, i couldnt fathom someone else finding peace and even euphoria in using it/its. i bought into the conservative talking points about neopronouns and it/its being detrimental to the trans community. they were "the bad transes" and me? well i use they/them but shakespeare used the singular they so im fine :), im one of the good ones. then one day, i was listening to some video essay idr what or who, but something they said stuck with me, "if it/its makes me happy, why do you care? how does 'it' hurt you really?" my trauma is not everyones trauma, people will find comfort in things that i wont, and thats okay. 'it' hurt me when i was young, by cruel kids and uncaring adults. why am i hurting my community, my fellow transes, by continuing to deny them their autonomy to identify how they like? so i got over 'it.' i saw the real harm was the fucking wedge being driven between us by conservative grifters trying to pick off the weakest in the herd before they go in for the rest of us.
visibility isnt necessarily a good thing for marginalized people. transfemmes are the biggest target of hate in our community atm. they unfortunately serve as the canary. global fascism is on the rise and to be frank, a targeted hate campaign against a trans woman is asking for her to be killed. outed, paraded as a freak, doxxed, swatted, killed. protect trans women, fascism doesnt stop with one group nor will you be saved by being "one of the good ones." trans solidarity, even the people you dont like, even if you think theyre icky or gross or whatever the fuck else you do Not give up trans solidarity. you dont make callout posts, you dont send death threats, you dont send hate mail, if you dont like someone Block Them and move on.
we stand together or we will be eradicated.
#sorry this turned into a rant about impending fascism#but its all connected#rach rants#real cut a liberal a fascist bleeds vibes here recently#also im not proof reading this so sorry for typos#trans

Can I pick your brain for a minute?
I’m a trans man, been on hormones for a year and a half, but I’ve identified as trans for ten years. I began my transition when I was an adult just to make sure I was really sure with my identity. This thought came naturally to me, I’m an empiricist so I don’t see my own thoughts as ironclad facts about how I feel. I’ve always been this way.
I’ve been in the trans community for awhile, 2014 to now, and I’ve had a few ups but many, many downs with interacting with other trans people. And sure, a few negative interactions may weigh more on you than positive, but over the years I feel that other trans people are just. Insane. I’ve struggled with mental health, every human has their moments, but I’ve always held onto this empiricist frame of thought. There was a long time where I was stuck, deep in what 2014 tumblr would call “tucute-ism,” where I felt pressured to validate other people no matter how strange it was. At the time I was thinking “they’ll probably just grow out of it” but as I aged…they did not. Over time I began to feel more and more alienated from the community, but by far, my worst interactions I had with other trans people were trans women and non-binary people of both the female and male sex. Even when I was in that phase I did not use neopronouns, nounpronouns, or hell, emojipronouns. Overtime as a younger generation discovered their ‘transness’ I witnessed that wow, those same “you’re fucking crazy” barriers of the mid to late 2010s were gone completely and in its wake was a bunch of children combining letters into “words” I knew I’d never understand how to use. It’s all just a form of counterculture to me. But people defended this by comparing it to the 60s where trans people would identify as “genderfucks” or “feminine water lilies” and that we went back to the 60’s was “cool” and “awesome.”
But that period of time in the trans movement was the most ineffectual and self harming era of the trans community, soon followed stonewall and the following riots which set the LGBT community at large back for a few decades. Which ultimately killed millions as a result of the rise of the AIDS crisis. So now I wonder if through our own fuck-up and counterculture existence screaming “down with the USA” we’ve made the present rhyme with history and that down the road, possibly with the reelection of Trump (or later, Vance, as a successor), that we have solidly and utterly fucked ourselves.
So I wonder that if, by the end of this re-run of nonsense, where we’re stuck in a more perilous position where the insane ones are forced to step in line, if the gender-critical movement or “TERFism” would fade out of existence, or at least, temporarily. Because ultimately I see the world in cycles and every group of people goes crazy sometime or another, minority groups are no exception.
So essentially, do you think the gender-critical movement is reactionary in some way shape or form? That it only exists out of the actions of a few-many trans people? I see social movements as a tug o’ war, where at some point a group of people drop the rope and the other side falls backwards. If there is nothing propelling your criticisms of the trans community, what’s the end result? And hopefully not, but if by next year anti-trans violence ramps up (as it has been in regard to anti-trans laws) what do you think many gender critical people may feel?
Hello :)
First of all, the fear you have had in your ask (which you sent before the election) apparently became true and now, Trump is the new president of the United States. My condolences :(
I don't think that gender critical feminism is reactionary. I personally think that the identity focused movements of the past decade or two have not improved the material conditions of the marginalised people they were intended to help, and I think that they are a cheap way for neoliberalism to act as though it is a progressive ideology when the entire identity politics thing is just a way to sound progressive without actually doing anything for these groups (like free education, healthcare, etc.).
I also don't think that radical feminism and its stance on trans rights stems from a few trans people who are using neo-pronouns or behaving ridiculously (even though that's what makes a lot of people interested in our opinions). I am obviously kinda annoyed by neopronoun users, but it's nothing compared to the eradication of women's rights and our disappearance from the public conscience as a sex class.
Also, for me, the end result would be to abolish gender and to abolish patriarchy, and in the best case, capitalism with it (yeah I know but I'm allowed to dream).
And I don't know what every gender critical person feels if anti-trans violence ramps up, but I personally see anti-trans violence as violence against individuals who are perceived to be gender non-conforming or homosexual (in the case of non-passing trans people), and violence against individuals who are perceived to be women (in the case of passing trans women). I am obviously against homophobia (duh), and also against violence against gender non-conforming individuals. That's why I am gender critical, I hate gender and I hate violence against people who seem not to conform to gender norms. The only way to fight this is, in my opinion, to recognise that we can look however we want and do whatever we want regardless of our biological sex. Violence against gnc people is one of the many reasons as to why I hold the position I do; gender is bullshit and so it violence against those who don't adhere to it.
And for you saying that it is counterproductive to say stuff like "down with the USA", I have to say that I'm not too familiar with US politics and how this kind of behaviour might influence public perception. So I guess that it's bad optics, but look at how Israeli settlers are behaving (literally killing people and perpetuating a genocide), and they are still receiving aid from the government of the US. So idk whether the US government makes their decisions based on violent slogans or whether they support you if you are aligned with their foreign policy interests. But I'm sure that you can judge this better, as I don't know a lot about US culture.
I'm also happy that you have recognised what type of people help you and I believe that you should take care of yourself and whom you spend your energy on. I hope that you are happy with where you are now and I wish you all the best :)

barty
bigender
he/she pronouns
saw dorcas doing panda's makeup after she came out, asked them if they would do hers and felt so insanely happy looking in the mirror after they were done
black eyeliner in his bag at all times
her gender could better be described as "skate park"

Lychee dragon cookie for the ask meme!!!
grins
Sexuality Headcanon: ABSOLUTE SEX GOD DO NOT APPROACH NO MATTER WHAT OR WHO, AVOID AT ALL COSTS YOU WILL GET YOUR SOUL SUCKED THROUGH YOUR DICK AND GET YOUR PEPSI STOLEN. also probably somewhere on the aro spectrum? maybe demi idk Gender Headcanon: Agender, probably. Fem leaning of course, but considering all the dragons are they/them they probably have no concern for the standard human concept of gender. In my mind they're probably she/they, though.
Ship: Incredibly tough pick, I'm honestly mostly between Shadow Milk and Cotton Candy, depending on if I want them to be enabled (made worse) or if I want them to have nice things. Basically toxic yuri vs healthy yuri, your pick BROTP: Uuuuuuuhhh I. Genuinely don't think I have any options here? Lychee kinda just... Hates everyone, for the most part. Rambutan maybe??? But that could just as easily go on Ship, so... Yeah, no idea. NOTP: Obviously all of the dragons would go here big duh they're related, but as far as plausible ones go, again, no idea. They're even totally indifferent towards Snake Fruit, for the most part, so I don't think I can pick anyone here.
Random Headcanon: OK THIS ONE ISN'T RANDOM BUT LET'S GET THIS OUT OF THE WAY; THIS IS NOT A CHILD. I've seen quite a few people interpret them as such and while I somewhat understand the sentiment THAT'S A SUCCUBUS, THIS CHARACTER IS DESIGNED AND THEMED AFTER SUCCUBI, sure they don't actually have sex with you and steal your energy and/or kill you, but the visual traits are absolutely there and they do still charm/hypnotize people and steal their energy that way with a bunch of heart imagery attached, alongside the little black bat-like wings that are so customary in pop culture succubus depictions. And that's not even considering all the ridiculously slutty lines that they have. Seriously, it's almost baffling this kind of character can make it into Cookie Run, let alone Ovenbreak, but I'm here for it <3. Anyways, they still are probably the youngest of the dragons even if they're an adult. That, or... Maybe they're a runt? No following, smaller size, powers that focus less on actual destruction or raw power and more on getting what they need through other more manipulative methods... Hell, they're probably the weakest of the dragons, as far as physical force alone goes. Unless later updates give us evidence of the contrary, maybe it's the lack of worship and power compared to the other dragons that made them such a powerhungry conniving little shithead.
General opinion: ... I mean. Look at my blog.
This one is perfect. A match made in heaven for me. I love jesters, my one set of neopronouns is jest/jestself, my sona is a jester, and they have shaped my identity on a near fundamental level. Add on top of that the succubus motifs, the :3 mouth and the little fangs, the personality, the axe (second favorite weapon right behind hammers), the color palette (dark purple, pink, black, white and greenish cyan?! fuck yes please), how much of a whore they are in general, their entire vibe, and... Yeah, they're perfect. Not only are they just like me fr, but I am wildly attracted to them and absolutely adore very single second they're onscreen. I love you Lychee Dragon Cookie you're the absolute best <3

people really need to stop recommending books based purely on the fact that they're "Queer representation" of some kind.
Not only does it do a disservice to the story itself, because I guarentee you the author wanted their story to be remembered for more than having "x characters" and nothing more...
...but if you're going around blithely reccomending tons of random strangers read something like the Xenogenesis trilogy by Octavia E. Butler based purely on the fact that some of the characters use it/its pronouns...
that's.
I'm sorry but that is just so negligent. That's the only word I can think to describe it. Xenogenesis is an adult science fiction story meant to be read by adults who are ready to have an incredibly serious conversation about slavery, eugenics, rape, genocide, and how consent literally cannot exist when you are a slave, and what that means for you and everyone around you.
It's not a fun casual adventure story anyone and everyone should be picking up without knowing what they're getting into. You have no idea how many people you're casually recommending this series to are victims of rape who are going to be triggered by scenes in this series, and you're not giving them any warning!
It's already bad enough for people to be flattening stories down into whether or not they have "X characters" but to not warn people about genuinely triggering content in the books you're flattening this way?? Why would you do that?
Please don't fucking do that. If you know a series deals with triggering topics then you need to warn people about that any time you recommend people read it. The Xenogenesis series requires trigger warnings for rape at the very least, and a whole lot more on top of that too, but that's the bare minimum.
Stop recommending people read things just because "characters use x pronouns in it" or "it has nonbinary characters" or "it has a lesbian in it" without any relevant warnings about triggering content it also contains.
At least the person who did this did specify that the it/its users in Xenogenesis are all aliens, but like, that's the least of things people need to be aware of before reading this trilogy.
Reccommend media by actually summarizing it. There's almost always an official summary you can find somewhere. Warn people about any topics that might be triggering that the content contains.
And, since I see this happen the most: for the love of fuck do not lie to people about Queer characters being in a series, or refuse to explain to people that the Queer characters that do exist are just the same old stereotypes we've all seen a million times, with nothing to balance them out and make them actually progressive.
That is going to accomplish nothing except alienating people who've been tricked into reading something that's not actually what they were told it was. You are not going to get anyone to enjoy a series by betraying them by lying about nonexistant or at best shallow, stereotypical, bioessentialist 'representation'.
The Animorphs does not have a single canon Queer character.
The Murderbot Diaries is just the exact same nonbinary robot stereotype that was old in the 90s, with no important human nonbinary characters at all despite there being seven whole books at this point. There are exactly 2 human characters who use neopronouns, but they're the epitome of "token characters". They appear for a combined total of maybe 10 pages, have no importance to the plot, and get shoved offscreen as quickly as possible, never to be seen again. All of the robots use it/its pronouns because they don't have genitals and Martha Wells is transmisic and loves biological essentliasm, and still very clearly equates sex with gender with pronouns. Despite the protagonist using it/its pronouns, no one ever asks anyone else for their pronouns, everyone just magically knows, because, again, biological essentialism. Also known as the exact opposite of representation for trans people.
The Xenogenesis trilogy does not have a single canon Queer character in it. All of the characters who use it/its pronouns are part of the third reproductive sex for the alien species.
Start recommending series based on what the plot is actually about, or what good things they have going for them, not just because they have characters who use XYZ pronouns or are the literal stereotype of a nonbinary robot.
