Contract Management: How to Effectively Manage Your Contracts?
Managing contracts can be overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. What if you could cut down on time and effort while ensuring compliance? Imagine cutting down your contract lifecycle times and improving compliance with ease. Yes, there is a solution!
“According to the research from The Hackett Group, 28% of companies are planning to pilot Contract Life Cycle Management (CLM) technology. The market is projected to grow by 11% this year, highlighting the growing adoption of AI-enabled CLM software over traditional methods.”
It's time to rethink how you manage contracts. The right contract tools, like ConvergePoint Contract Management Software can make a huge difference!
Understanding the Contract Lifecycle Stages
A contract's lifecycle encompasses the entire journey, from drafting to renewal or termination. Breaking it down into stages provides better control and management:
Drafting: For creating contracts that meet specific needs, use predefined templates and a pre-defined clause library.
Review and Negotiation: Work collaboratively for contract review and negotiations with stakeholders to establish terms and conditions properly while using the version control feature to track changes.
Approval: To maximize efficiency, get authorization from all parties involved and finalize contract approvals using electronic signatures.
Management and Compliance: Monitor performance, compliance, and contractual obligations at every stage of the process.
Termination or Renewal: Depending upon contract performance details and future requirements, evaluate whether to extend, modify, or terminate contracts.

Seamless Integration: Integrate contract management systems with existing tools like CRM systems to create a cooperative data ecosystem.
Enhanced Security: Protect sensitive contract information through encryption, role-based access, and secure storage.
Top 5 Best Practices for Managing Your Contracts
Adopting best practices in contract management streamlines processes improves collaboration, and mitigates legal and financial pitfalls. To effectively manage contracts, it’s essential to implement these best practices:
Standardizing Contract Processes
Prioritizing Risk Management
Enhancing Collaboration Across Teams
Focusing on Compliance and Security
Utilizing Advanced AI Contract Feature
1. Standardizing Contract Processes
Consistency in contract management is important for efficiency and compliance. Standardization includes:
Templates and Clause Libraries:
A database of approved contract templates and clauses is required to speed up the preparation of contracts. By using standardized templates, businesses can make sure that every contract remains accurate and updated. Clause libraries, typically containing pre-approved legal terms, enable teams to add relevant terms quickly without getting to start from scratch. This speeds up the contract drafting process while making sure all contracts adhere to company standards and legal requirements.
Predefined Workflows:
Specified workflows simplify the contract lifecycle. Creating defined procedures for contract drafting, review, approval, and execution helps that every stage follows an established protocol. Delays are reduced, contract approval deadlines speed up, and important processes are not missed.
By standardizing these processes, productivity is eventually increased by reducing contract drafting time, and promote better internal collaboration.
2. Prioritizing Risk Management
Contracts inherently involve various risks, from missed deadlines to non-compliance with regulatory requirements. Proactive risk management is essential to minimize these risks and ensure business continuity. Here are some key strategies:
Tracking Obligations:
By implementing a contract management system, businesses can track important obligations such as due dates, payment schedules, and compliance evaluations. This ensures that important dates and requirements are met, reducing the possibility of missing deadlines and non-compliance.
Audit Trails:
Maintaining a comprehensive audit trail of all changes made to contracts ensures complete accountability and transparency. Organizations can quickly identify any discrepancies or unauthorized modifications by monitoring who made specific changes and when thus justifying all activities.
Periodic Reviews:
Regular contract reviews are a crucial aspect of risk management. By conducting frequent reviews, businesses can identify potential risks, bottlenecks, or areas of non-compliance earlier, allowing them to address issues before they escalate.
Effective risk management not only protects organizations from financial and legal risks but also encourages confidence and trust among stakeholders.
3. Enhancing Collaboration Across Teams
Contracts frequently involve multiple departments, including procurement, sales, and legal, and effective collaboration is key to ensuring smooth processes. Centralized platforms increase efficiency by eliminating delays, allowing multiple parties to collaborate on a single document simultaneously.
Contract management software improves communication by enabling real-time modifications, ensuring all team members stay updated. This enables stronger communication across teams.
Additionally, automated contract processes streamline approvals by alerting relevant stakeholders whenever action is needed, helping to prevent bottlenecks and maintain a smooth workflow.
4. Focusing on Compliance and Security
Contracts often contain sensitive data that requires strict security measures. Data encryption plays an important role in protecting contract data both in transit and at rest, ensuring that it remains secure. Role-based access minimizes risks by restricting access to sensitive information based on user roles.
Additionally, regulatory compliance is essential to ensure contracts stay compliant and up-to-date with relevant regulations and industry standards. Strengthening data security and operational reliability, routine audits and compliance checks further improve the protection of sensitive contract data.
5. Utilizing Modern Contract Management Software with Advanced AI Features
Modern contract management software is changing how organizations manage contracts by integrating advanced AI functionalities to improve efficiency and outcomes. Key innovations include AI-driven tools for contract review and contract summarization:
AI Contract Review
AI-powered tools for contract review analyze documents with accuracy and speed. By comparing contract clauses to predefined templates and identifying inconsistencies or risks, these tools help organizations ensure compliance with policies and legal standards. AI highlights and suggests corrections, allows teams to manage issues before they escalate, all while significantly reducing manual effort.
AI-Driven Summarization
Contracts can be complicated, making it difficult to extract essential information. By highlighting important terms, and responsibilities, AI summarizing tools simplify this process. By offering short explanations, these tools help stakeholders quickly and clearly understand contractual obligations. By ensuring that everyone has access to the right data, this AI functionality not only saves time but also promotes decision-making.

"thought that was aaron ekblad's best game of the year." [...] "do you think ekblad gets under appreciated?" "how we appreciate defencemen has changed over the years and it's skewed to points now [...] when a player is up for contract these guys all now get paid on points, and there's a sacrifice for him, to our team, for him to put the defense first and he's done that."

with all the recent news surrounding checo's performance clause with rbr, it got me wondering about Daniel's deal with McLaren. Did he also receive a similar contract clause from that team? like Ik that he was dropped without his prior knowledge but was he given options beforehand??
Daniel in fact had no such performance clause in his McLaren contract. He had an option to extend for 2023 that only he could trigger, which meant McLaren couldn't unilaterally decide to not extend him for 2023.
This was why Zak Brown went on his media tour criticising him and playing musical chair with his seat until he signed Piastri behind Daniel's back. They wanted Daniel to trigger that exit clause on his own so they wouldn't have to pay him out. In the end, Daniel left $18mil richer
#not too long ago i saw some checo fans brag that checo was managed by senna's agent which meant that he was safe from being dropped#so i'm surprised how checo's management thought it would be a good idea to sign an extension which retrospectively added performance clause#to a previous contract#i mean if he signed it after monaco and if the rumours are true that he can't be more than 100 pts behind max#the trend at the point in time after monaco would have shown that he would very likely not meet that performance target by summer break#it would have been very sensible to refuse that extension and just leave at the end of the year which would have saved his career#compared to the possibility of him getting sacked now#anyway .... other than lewis (and now charles) Daniel is the only other driver who has an american management#and the kind of contracts they're able to negotiate are different than your old school f1 agent#anon ask

I hate that I was kinda worried about what people on here were gonna say about the finale as if ultimately my own feelings about it are what should matter most to me. catching myself going "oh theyre not gonna like that" multiple times during the episode was so tiring and for whatt
#was it the more optimistic route? yes#we even got a where are they now sequence!!#but i dont think it was badly done at all#though the ceo being thisnopen to changing the rule for the new contract should have been a bit more explored#like the staff and management noticing how its negatively affecting the idols and trainees#or seeing the support the fans show on social media isnt hung upon that condition like it had been up till that point#just smth to see why it was so easy just a year later#as i expected part of why it was fine was shipping culture#anyways worst part was shone accepting apologies left and right#i still think his new guy should accidentally hit him with the camera or smth#and the mom never learnt ANY lessons#almost as if the narrative wants us to accept that this whole situation was normal and everyone was being right and reasonable on their skde#when shone is a shit cousin i dont wish on anyone#and the mom should have fought for her son#only boo

important part of my relationship is that my girlfriend isn't subscribed to money stuff, so when we walk to work together i can just describe really good money stuff bits to them
#Real Big Computer Has Never Been Tried.#then in return they explain facts they learned from the odd lots episodes i found too boring to listen to#you can really understand our fundamentally different natures this way#my girlfriend likes things in proportion to how useful and helpful they are which is why they do vaccine design research#and read about cobalt exports and climate energy policy as their personal economics information hobby#i mostly like things in proportion to how conceptually satisfying and fun they are to think about#which is why im studying an application-free cell bio question that is essentially 'Wouldnt It Be Cool If This Worked'#and the finance-related things i read about r hilarious crypto exploits and the fact that everything is securities fraud.#now of course my girlfriend also possesses gr8 aesthetic sensibilities and i guess i managed to have useful practical outputs#when i was a union contract writer that one time#but these are our respective instinctual tendencies.#box opener#girlfriend tag

Why do I get anxious about things I should technically be happy for? I just applied for a dream job (or at least it will be a dream job if I can confirm it's possible to extend the contract length), and it seems that the turnaround for interviews/getting hired will be very fast if I do get selected. I do think I have a decent chance of getting selected. I have been increasingly tired of my current role for a while now and I'm very much ready for something new. Yet the thought of handing in my resignation to my manager makes me want to vomit.
#personal#whining#i mean i do know why#everyone at my job is very nice and i get along well with my manager#i also know how constantly busy my team is and that having to replace a senior person will impact them#also my boss is going away for almost a month soon which is not great timing + i feel guilty for asking about progression recently (just to#there is a part of me that really wishes this opportunity came along slightly later but what can you do#also this is fully me putting my cart before my horse#let me see first whether i do get the job (not even remotely guaranteed i can imagine this being a quite competetive position)#and whether or not the contract can actually be extended since i'm not leaving my job for a short term thing#there you go i almost talked myself into being calm again#go me!

had a nearly 2 hour long interview yesterday and when they asked "where do you see yourself in 5 years" i felt like crying
#dumb babbles#sorry but at this rate the “5 years” question gives me the same vibes as a guy talking about raising kids 3 dates in (experience)#sir ive stopped thinking that far ahead tbh#sir we JUST met you still need to prove you aren't evil#let's get one year under the belt first before we rush into things#idk it like a hybrid of what i've done in the past and it pays REALLY well but im so scared they're gonna want it to be my personality#it could be a really good opportunity as long as there's no secret blood contract.#If they can just teach me how to do the thing and then leave me in my little room to solve my puzzles that'd be neat i think#wouldn't it be funny if i started making more than my old manager wouldnt that be funny tho

Shift at the chipshop last night and there was this one kid who must have been around 16 but looked younger, first job, big autistic vibes. Half the size of me working right next to me and clearly just super anxious the entire time but also chatting to me about jobs
Idk people are hard to read and I cant tell if he's just naturally shy or like. SUPER intimidated by this big friendly dude with way more job relevant experience than him deffering to him and asking his advice on stuff
#like he was showing me how they wrap stuff#and clearly still kind of learning himself#and looked a bit put out when i picked it up fairly quickly#so i kept asking him to show me again whenever i fumbled it a bit#asked him to point stuff out for me on the tills and stuff#bc he lit up a lil each time he helped me with something#idk just very sweet kid who was really interested when i mentioned i worked for scottish autism too#honestly everyone there seems really sound. older woman who was working the fryers who was quite no-nonsense but very patient in teaching#and praising when me or the kid did something well#apparently alot of folks there applied for mcds and got rejected so a few were asking me how it compared#it got pretty busy and the manager was like omg im so sorry it got so busy on your first time doing tills and im like#yeah no this. this is not the worst ive done lmao this is like average#anyway yeah nice folks just. LIL bit concerning i still havent gotten a contract and pay snorted#*sorted lmao

#teeth.txt#i'm a temp worker right now which is fine but management has been SO UNCLEAR about how long theyre actually gonna keep me on#when i was hired officially as a temp (changed from a student) i was told directly that i was authorized to work for a full year#(aka until july 2025)#so i was like cool sounds good!#but then earlier this month i asked for a slight schedule change (to work MORE mind you)#and got an email back saying 'ok your schedule is approved through oct 31st aka when your contract ends!'#and i was like. haha. what do you mean by that.#and was told to talk to my supervisor about continuing to work past that date#which i did and she was like 'oh yeah i want your help' so i was like cool. sorted.#and that was... two weeks ago?#but i literally just got another email on that original thread from my supervisor#being like 'hey [director] did you decide to approve baz to keep working?'#DONT CC ME ON THIS!!!!!!!!!!#most stressful email to receive at 8:30 in the morning#i thought we were all squared away!!!!!!!!!!! i thought it was fine!!!!!!!!!#i just wish there was more transparency. like am i out of a job in 2 weeks or not.#this is also not the first time something like this has happened el oh el#helpppppp i'm gonna die

Communicate like an adult and get results :)
#one the best things I've learned to do in the last five years is advocate for myself#new people took over the kennel I contract at and they haven't been giving me any of the boarding nail trims#I've been a little miffed about it but didn't say anything bc I assumed it was a money thing - if I do the nail trim I get commission#but if a kennel tech does it they don't get commission#today I caught them with a special baby of mine tho and they had just gotten started so I said#I'm supposed to be the only one who does her nails#and the tech was thrilled bc she doesn't like doing nail trims anyway#so after that I pulled myself together and said something to the manager about how the old owner had me do basically all of the nail trims#and he goes#great!#we all hate doing nail trims#and I ended up with 3 today and 2 tomorrow which is an extra $25 in my pocket so that's awesome#i really have found just talking about things like an adult (calmly and rationally) can get you the things you want most of the time#ig bc I grew up with a parent who would sometimes snap at me just for speaking I always expect the worst reactions from people#but so far I've found I almost always get the best#and even when I don't get what I want#nobody has yelled at me for asking

god I just remembered the Balyn Omavel quest, which is potentially the funniest quest in Morrowind imo
#saint.txt#bug squad tag#bc it’s like. one you don’t even need to be a Tong member to take it Taros will give you it as long as you can get there#so he gives you a request direct from Mephala themselves to Just Some Guy who broke into his house#but it’s like. this guy pissed Mephala off so goddamn much they’re killing him personally. they’re ratting him out to their other kids#they’re getting people to kill his ass and watching closely. Mephala’s so annoyed they’ve got entire instructions on how they want him dead#and like you ask what this guy did bc it must’ve been bad and all he’s doing is betraying the Tong by taking contracts on the side#which is really bad but not ‘earn the direct ire of a daedric prince’ bad#like he’s betraying the guild and killing people but Mephala’s like that’s not even sexy. I hate you and your stupid ass. kill this clown#like the fact he managed to annoy a daedric prince so much they want him dead personally is honestly kind of extremely based

apparently Laynesmith has argued that Joan of Kent and Thomas Holland may not have actually had a pre-contract in “Joan of Kent’s Tale: Adultery and Rape in the Age of Chivalry”, Medieval Life 5 (1996): 7-9.
has anyone read it & what do they think of it?
#joan of kent#ngl I'm kinda wary of Laynesmith#and more than a little wary of her venturing into the incredibly sensitive and triggering nature of the topic that's Joan's pre-contract#and CSA#I really do not want her to cavalierly dismiss or brush over anything to emphasize her own conclusion like I've seen her do in other books#like I think she knows her stuff and is exceptionally detailed and is usually great at thematics#but she's also VERY assumptive at times and this occasionally results in truly ridiculous conclusions#see: her 'reassessment' of Elizabeth Woodville in 1483 which somehow manages to be even stupider than the vilified interpretation#of Elizabeth. I don't know how that was even possible but Laynesmith somehow managed it.#and there's everything about Elizabeth of York where Laynesmith's assumptions of her and Henry are entirely responsible for shaping her#analysis and conclusion of Elizabeth's queenship#she also evidently has her biases (eg: 'Richard III Did Nothing Wrong' in her book on Cecily Neville)#among many other things#I really really do not want any of these assumptions and biases to emerge when dealing with what happened to Joan#which like I said is an incredibly sensitive topic which needs to be handled much more carefully than I've seen her handle other topics#but since I obviously haven't read it (and can't access it) and want to give her the benefit of the doubt ...#has anyone read it and what do y'all think?
