I thought I'd never see

Inspired by the breathtaking fic save the undone years by Whitherward @whatanybodygets which is an AU about Kaz and Inej during WW1 where Kaz is a soldier and Inej is a nurse. This moment that stuck with me:

“All this waiting, and his brother appears at his bedside like a ghost in the night. [...] [Captain Reitveld] simply drops onto the edge of Kaz’s mattress and yanks him forward by the shoulders, wrapping him into a tight hug.

She sees Kaz go tense for a moment, and then relax, bury his face into his brother’s shoulder.

And then he begins to sob."

My less popular opinion (and what I believe to be implied by the art in Lost Days) is that rather than waking up in a fully grown body Jason didn’t actually complete his puberty until after his Lazarus pit dip while he was on his murder tour. Something has changed. Everyone in the hero community could feel it, even the ones outside of the Justice League.

Over night it seemed like all of them got stronger, faster and more resilient when they were trying to protect someone.

On the other hand, if one of them tried to use their skills to do something unheroic, it was harder to use them and other heros seemed to be able to sense their betrayal easier.

It took some time for Zatanna and the rest of the Justice League Dark to figure out what was going on. Mostly because they didn't think of this specific thing.

A new god had ascended. Something that happened rarely, especially nowadays. But the magic users were sure. Every hero they had checked, had a divine blessing from a new patron god. And every former hero who had fallen to villainy in the last few month had a curse put on them.

The god of super heros had ascended and was watching over them. While some heros got paranoid, others felt some sense of pride and relief.

And maybe it wasn't a bad thing, if something else was making sure that evil wouldn't take hold of them. As soon as they knew their name, they could properly worship them.

One thing I have seen - even from other trans people! - is this specific implication that while it's inevitable that trans men pass, but trans women are essentially doomed if they want to pass.

I could talk for days about the intricacies of passing for trans people in general. I could talk for hours about why some trans people want to pass, and that it shouldn't be forced. I could talk about the intricacies for trans men and others when it comes to passing because the dynamics don't play out the way it does for cis men a lot of times. But what gets me is the idea that trans women could never pass, that those who do are essentially anomalies is... nasty. It's got nasty implications, and it's feels even nastier when trans people do it.

Trans women, trans men, trans people of all types shouldn't be required, pressured, or forced to pass. That is true. But to say that passing is nigh impossible for an entire subsect of trans people will never not read as evil.

"Well, the antis/critics wouldn't defend Stella if her and Stolass' genders were swaped!" - I heard this from the stans fairly often. Today I'm not going to disprove this claim though. However it inspired me for my current post.

What if the story wasn't revolved around two queer men? What if Blitzø was a woman and Stolass was a straight man instead? Would've the fans still loved this ship? NO. That's how the critics would respond. And I completely agree with them. Yet I decided to go further and visualize this crap... Why?!

In fact, it was just an experiment that turned out to something EXTREMELY revolting as a result. I mean Stol!tzø IS revolting the way it already is that's for sure. But this is becoming painfully obvious when they're depicted as hetero ☠️

So here are some screenshot edits with genderswaped Blitzø. At first I couldn't decide if I should hide this under the cut or not. Finally I've leaned towards the first option so...

Optimus, melancholic: It never could have worked. We were too different in the end. Our goals were aligned, but the methods we chose were far too different: reforming the system vs tearing everything down. We have both changed, frequently for the worst, though I'm happy that he was eventually able to reclaim a bit of the peacefulness that he used to hold in his spark. But we can't be what we were and there is no path for us moving forward. The love was there and I'll always appreciate us for what we were.

Soundwave, bitter: It never could have worked. I was so loyal to him that I would have died at his command, and the only thing he ever felt loyalty towards was the cause. Not that it was surprising, I knew what I was getting into. I was fine with his devotion to his ideals. I admired it, even. But then he went and threw it all away with that speech. The love was there, but it was for a bot that's long gone.
