I'm new to the Spinnerdabi way of life. What is your propaganda, I mean what makes this a good ship? I like it but I can't put into words why, so please give me your wisdom!

I DONT HAVE BIIIG ABSTRACT REASONS TO SHIP THEM, NONE I CAN PUT INTO WORDS BC I JUST DO SHIP EM!!! their dynamic is fun, just the sight of them in the same frame next to each other makes my brain buzz. here’s a sloppy ass list as to why i ship it (some of which digressed but let’s pretend that didn’t happen)

they’ve just got that kind of bickering like a married couple dynamic i like.

emo crashout x villain boy-failure. that’s it. that’s the ship. this is the propaganda statement trust.

i like to imagine they’re two dudes who feel like they don’t fit the standards of beauty (u could also say that about spinaraki but that’s not the focus atm), dabi’s whole patchwork frankenstein thing he’s got going on, feeling like a gross amalgamation of parts that don’t belong to him, and spinner’s stigmatized heteromorphic traits that’ve probably done a number to his self esteem and made him feel like he could only be defined by his scales. they fall in love w/ each other and along the way learn to love themselves.

the whole dabi’s a human heater and spinner’s a cold-blooded guy (my spinner isn’t cold blooded but suffers the same sort of problems that come with it — excluding brumation). listen even before they got together i can imagine spinner being all over him trust.

also the idea of these dudes pining for SOOO LONG bc of their own internal issues and dabi lowkey wanting to kill himself because of ALL people he has feelings for, IT’S SPINNER?? THAT LOSER?? And even in general, that means he actually has feelings, and he’d rather die than let that be the truth. Turns out that as much as he can sit here and act like he’s an unfeeling dick and a ruthless killer, like he’s only dabi, and dabi alone, that isn’t completely true. there’s still a part of him that wants to love and be loved — touya’s still in there, even if touya doesn’t use that name anymore. safe to say the guy has a crisis.

on spinner’s end, he likes this dickhead and he owns up to it, really admires him too, his whole vibe, his strength, and the actual brain he’s got knocking around in that head of his (basically he’s got sense — SUPPOSEDLY…) gets spinner going — so the question is: how is he supposed to bag THAT baddie? the answer is he can’t, ‘cause he’s been thoroughly convinced that he just can’t ever impress dabi, he’s just a big dumb lizard and all he does is squabble with patchwork, even if it’s lighthearted, what if it’s off-putting to dabi? THAT KINDA STUFF.

IM RAMBLING BUT OVERALL, I LOVE THE TWO MOST OF ALL BC OF THEIR EXISTING DYNAMIC. there’s so many things you can take from them and their characters and so much to explore. ALSOOO….

i have aphobic friends, and i know that if i ever go through with coming out to my family, i know exactly which ones will start to look at me differently and will want to change me.

aphobia is real. the reason it's not loud rn is because not enough people know about us, AND because socially, it's not okay to outright say people have to have and should be having sex.

"no one hates/discriminates against aces and aros specially for being ace/aro" is not a take i expected to see from a fellow aspec.

idk, most people didn't bother me about my relationship to sexuality until i started openly identifying as asexual. people were somewhat fine with me not having a lot of sex and hardly talking about sexual stuff. they were way less fine when i started saying i don't consider myself a sexual being or that i don't experience sexual attraction and probably never will (both of which is my asexuality). and they're not fine at all with me saying i'm asexual. it's been similar with my demiromanticism.

because as much as they like throwing around "just a phase", they really hate it when we call ourselves aromantic or asexual because it's more of a definite, rather than us just acting different.

if there's one thing they hate more than deviant behaviour, it's people labelling it, finding community and pride in it, normalising it.

aces who've come out to their doctors are more likely than gay and bi people to have conversion therapy suggested to them. aces who've come out in their social circles are more likely to experience sexual harassment and SA.

aces and aros have been and still are actively pushed out of queer communities.

you can't whisper words like ace, aro, demi online without getting some kinda hate.

after trump got elected, ace and aro influencers had brands stop collaborating with them because they are ace/aro.

yeah there's many things that aren't explicitly directed at us but affect us disproportionately, but there is absolutely hate and discrimination specifically towards the words and concepts of aromanticism and asexuality. even if someone doesn't know we exist, if they hear "asexual" or "aromantic" they usually have a somewhat good guess on what they mean.
