Support women's rights to look dead!#I have been waiting for this scene for ages...the ghost girl entourage is such a good look for WWX.#And by gods does the audio drama actually do something interesting with one of them.#Namely that we actually get to see WWX talk with them and learn about who they were and what they left behind.#I love necromancer characters but it's way too common for them to be like “Go! Ghost no.145!” like they're a pokemon #and not...you know...someone who had a whole life that they left behind.#I love me a necromancer who has an awareness to whose soul/body they are using. It adds a lot of flavour!#MDZS is a little hit or miss with this. I think the fans do a lot of the work with making Mo Xuanyu a bigger character.#Yi City has this in spades. Even though we don't individually get character backstories #We get many painful reminders about how these 'corpses' were people.#We also get a few lines about how WWX used whatever corpses he could get his hands on (including grandparents - Woof!)#MDZS often (but not always) likes to remind us that every sacrifice and every ghost was a person.#It is so close to nailing the landing regarding the deconstruction of the necromancer character.#Anyhow. You may have noticed the uptick in quality in the last two comics. Rule of three means next one is going to be a treat B*)#See you all very soon!

After doing some research on the types of pets people had in ancient Greece, I'd like to imagine that Helen is the sort of person who has a whole menagerie of birds — and she loves each and every one of them very, very much.

It fits well with her being good at mimicry, you know. Talking and imitating and singing with her beloved birds 💜

I'm happy with the outcome! ^w^#choosing what birds and how many was a challenge... in my mind Helen has dozens of birds and all sorts of species. truly a crazy bird lady.#but I decided to focus on a few for this. maybe another time i'll make a piece with a ridiculous amount of birds for fun >:) hehe #I cant remember the source but I know I read somewhere that people would specifically train magpies to say hello/greet guests #and I love that little factoid (and love magpies very much) so that was an immediate choice for me to feature here.#I also love doves and goldfinches. goldfinches sound so delightful and stand out so they were my 'songbird' choice.#and I'd like to imagine that one specific dove snuggles up on helen's shoulder all the time <3 #the only bird that's truly missing here is an indian ringneck parrot (which I initially wanted to put on the shoulder but changed my mind)#so if you're like me and watch too many parrot videos. just know helen has one of them that can't stop talking and posing lmao #capri_art

I was thinking about HTTYD, as one does, and had an epiphany that I wanted to share. I highly doubt that the Vikings of HTTYD, or at the very least the Archipelago, had any basis of ableism at all. Because half of them have lost limbs to dragon attacks, it’s so common place and the raids were so bad that anyone and everyone pitched in regardless of whether they had all four limbs or not. And so it never became a thing where people who were disabled were considered incapable (just want to clarify that I do NOT think that at all, in any way shape or form) because it was not only common but impractical to think that.

Like, I was thinking about it harder, and I don’t remember even an episode where someone even insinuated that Hiccup or Gobber couldn’t help or do something because they were disabled. Like, dragons basically stopped ableism by biting a bunch of people’s limbs off until it was normal to know or be someone that was missing something.

#I’m sure there’s someone from a corner of the world where dragon raids aren’t commonplace #who is ableist #but I don’t think that ableism is really a thing in the HTTYD universe because SO MANY PEOPLE are missing limbs #it’s kinda cool to think about social intricacies in a world like that #and also funny to think that the solution to ableism is a bunch of dragons #httyd #how to train your dragon
