a negative post under the cut (not from me, I'm just commentating on it)
(See OG post below.)
due to the nature of my blog normally I wouldn't even bring this up but a) I'm bored while IT is working on my computer (AGAIN) and b) i like a good discussion.
I'm gonna skip over the obvious fallacies of shadamy being a fake ship (bc what does that mean, I have no idea) and that SEGA never acknowledges it (they clearly have) or markets Shadamy (if the Shadamy Sakura series and them being marketed together didn't clue them in, then they are willingly ignorant abt it lol)
I did want to discuss the Amy Rose Minnie Mouse aspect and her "purpose of the franchise" bc i actually have a lot of thoughts to this! And before I go one, it should go without saying but I do love SonAmy, it's very cute and they're characters who can have good chemistry and deserve good things! Anyway, here's my thoughts.
Amy being created to be Sonic's Minnie Mouse as far as I had read it was pressure from the company to make Sonic more marketable (i.e. adding girl character, hero saves damsel quests etc). What i love about how they went about it was flipping the script, especially for the era, it was more commonplace for damsel characters to be the sweet, love interest (Minnie, princess peach, princess daphne) that the hero pursues as a goal to complete as well as a reward for his efforts.
Sonic being adverse to Amy's advances, who is supposedly created to be the love interest, is unique and adds to his personality which was a really good move imo. it added to the edge that Sonic kind of gives as a protagonist, his sass, his impatience, his cock sure nature while also being altruistic and loyal of course, but him viewing Amy as a friend that he occasionally has to rescue and bear the affections of is objectively silly and fun.
Now, pertaining to Amy's purpose of the franchise being Sonic's endgame love interest, I do take a lot more issue with. Not only does it invalidate Amy's space in this franchise, making her no more than a romantic reward for the ending of Sonic's hero's quest (because, if SEGA thinks Sonic won't "slow down" for Amy now, it implies he will have to undergo some sort of change or, less noble, when he seems himself ready to reciprocate Amy's feelings on his terms, irregardless of how long he makes Amy wait for him) but it also ironically makes Sonamy make less sense canonically.
Like, if Amy is only meant to work as Sonic's female, romantic counterpart, why does SEGA not let it happen canonically? Because it's not a ship war thing honestly, most of the GP already assumes they are and there's plenty of valentines merch to suggest otherwise, so...why not just do it? probably because it doesn't make sense for Sonic's character and I don't just mean for SonAmy, honestly, I mean it for any and all Sonic ships. It isn't that Sonic doesn't love or wouldn't have romantic feelings, it's that I think he doesn't allow himself those attachments. Friends are everything in this world and I've always loved this franchise for showcasing an array of lovely strong friendships, but the difference in friends and significant others is that there's compromise, there's balance, there's giving up things, there's building a home and a family and doing things as 2 as opposed to only needing to worry about yourself. friendships are no less of a love than romance but there's also a lot more grace in friendships when it comes to responsibilities and emotional compromises. I'm getting into the weeds a bit here but what I mean to say is that Sonics character doesn't make sense for a romantic partner, free like the wind and on an eternal hero's journey. It has also never appeared to be a want of his to be able to have these things (but im willing to be proven otherwise) Maybe down the road it would, but that's not fair to Amy or any other partner for that matter. Amy's whole world doesn't need to revolve around waiting for her hero to be ready to accept her, especially to a character so full and rich in love and affections to give.
It doesn't escape me that one of Amy's most defining and strongest showing was because of Shadow. This is kind of where I can get extremely biased and go on and on about how great a story arc would be for Shadamy to become endgame. Briefly, Sonamy being canon kind of takes away from Sonic's character, while Shadamy enriches. Amy who obsesses and does everything for the attention of her first love finding her own purpose and making her world bigger by being her own hero which was the case for her finding her courage after feeling useless by helping Shadow to remember his promise just by being herself. Shadow who is jaded and hurt and isolated from friends and the world he now lives in finding love and affection and strength in those things because of Amy Rose's big heart. Idk, it's all very poetic to me.
So in conclusion, Sonamy and Shadamy good, but writing wise, Shadamy has a lot more going for it. One of my irl friends who watches sonic things over my shoulder has always taken issue with Sonamy being the canon default bc of her pursuing and Sonics pushing away. When I introduced her to the idea of Shadamy she hoped on with more enthusiasm haha probably bc it was around the mosth era and that was a pretty good showing for them haha. anyway. these are my humble thoughts. I'm not all knowing of this franchise or think myself correct in every way but idk. I don't think its fair to rule out character shipping just bc it wasn't the original intention. that happens all the time with things after all (RIP canon zutara) so maybe op can take a chill pill 😅

Zeb & Kallus vs. the future headcanons
Zeb had never been too big on long-term future plans during his time at the High Honour Guard. Where his sister had actively been looking to settle down with someone, he relished the fact that he was still young, enjoying the attention that came with his position and looks but never looking to pursue anything more serious than a fling.
This attitude persisted after the Purge of Lasan, though for different reasons: his focus had shifted entirely to taking revenge on the Empire, and later to restoring peace and balance to the galaxy, which left little room in his mind for any other plans.
Of course, having your entire way of life burned to ashes would ruin even any subconscious future plans. With the Purge Zeb also lost his perspective, and the examples of his parents or more senior Guard members.
For a long time, he turned into a bitter, cynical man, but after joining up with Hera and Kanan and seeing the beautiful bond the two of them had helped thaw him a little again. He still couldn't find it in himself to be interested in building a future with someone in a romantic sense, never going beyond one night stands or short flings, but joining Hera and Kanan's fight at least helped him see light at the end of the tunnel again.
He still had difficulty envisioning a future for himself, but now he at least found himself fighting not just for revenge or bloodlust, but to ensure that Sabine and Ezra, children of the war, would live to see peace again. To give Kanan and Hera the opportunity to settle down, perhaps even start a family, without constantly having to be on the run.
Meanwhile, Kallus, despite being a smart man who spent most of his adult life at the front, held a completely different view on the war: hailing from the core of the galaxy, to him the war ended when the Empire took over, and everything he did after that was to keep the peace, or expand it to new regions. An utterly unselfish man by any means, contrary to how he might appear, any future plans he ever made were always in service of this peace. His quick ascent through Imperial ranks wasn't a planned march to power, but the result of his relentless fighting to ensure that peace, misguided though he was about its nature.
Anything personal always had to make way for this goal, which meant that he also never made any plans for settling down or any real attachments. Even though he liked Jovan -- loved him, even, in a way -- he would always prioritise his work, and he wouldn't have sacrificed even an aspect of it for their... friendship, relationship, whatever it was. By the time their involvement ended he wasn't even very saddened, identifying it as something that would only have held him back in his fight for the cause.
Only when Zeb falls in love with Kallus does he start considering a future for himself again. He realises this when he realises that he has started imagining things he would want to show to or do with Kallus once the Empire has been defeated. And just like he wants a better future for his new Ghost family, he also wants to help create a world where Kallus doesn't have feel like he has to work himself to the bone to take down the Empire, but could actually rest and relax.
In a sense, even joining the Rebellion doesn't make Kallus realise that there is a war going on. The reason for this is that he doesn't really believe that the Rebellion could actually win, and therefore their fight doesn't register as an actual war to him, but more as, well, a rebellion. Doing whatever they can to keep the Empire at bay and keep the entire galaxy from succumbing to evil. He is one of the few in the Rebellion who isn't filled with hope after the destruction of the first Death Star; not believing that the Empire would not have kept some sort of backup of Project Stardust, to him it just serves as proof of the overwhelming and unconquerable power of the Empire.
Similarly, he is unable to envision a future with Zeb, even though he eventually falls in love with him. Zeb becomes the only real home he has ever really known to him, a place of comfort, a safe haven, and as such he wants to be with him, but he is afraid to look any further than the present on that regard.
Only after the decisive victory above Endor, with the death of the Empire and the ensuing chaos in the Empire, does he realise that the Rebel Alliance could actually win this war. It comes as a shock to him, especially the fact that the Emperor could be killed; somehow, none of the Imperial plans and documentation had included anything on succession or any other scenario for if the Emperor would die. He rejoices with the rest of the Rebellion, of course, but beyond that he finds himself lost in this uncertain future, unsure how to move on now that all his plans and everything he has ever been is being rendered unnecessary.
Because Zeb by that time is a lot further in the healing process, he is able to think of the future again, to make plans or leap excitedly in the unknown. And even though it is occassionally a point of tension between them, he does manage to take Kallus along that path.

A very obvious problem in the Acotar series is the lack of consistency in the world building. This is a big problem, because this is a fantasy world,so it is important to have a consistent picture of how things work in this fictional world.Contradictory things that have been pointed out already are the medical stuff or Fae aging, where in the first book Fae seem to be still children in their 50s,while later they are old enough to get married at 17.One thing that is also inconsistent however, is the sexual mores.
We are told that Fae lack human sense of propriety in such matters and how Velaris is especially open minded. It is a paradise for Mor,who likes to sleep around with both males and females. The only exceptions to this is Hewn City and Illyria, but those are considered backwards by everyone. So,why is Nesta sleeping around a threat to Rhysand and Feyre's reputation,if casual sex is not stigmatized? Why would people badmouth Nesta and not Mor?
Also, this whole Feyre, Rhysand's whore thing.First, claiming sex positivity in your books and use offensive terms for female sexuality is problematic. You see we don't get the idea that this mentality is wrong. We get the idea that this is wrong when it comes to Feyre, because Feyre is not really that. But, it's also inconsistent. The use of such offensive language would make sense in a world where sex outside of marriage for women is a taboo. But fae are supposed to be better than humans in this regard.Since, it's not a taboo, why wouldn't Feyre just be Rhysand's lover, just like many other women are surely High Lords's lovers, with no stigma whatsoever for the majority of Prythian?Even if their relationship was considered transactional in nature(Feyre giving Rhys sexual pleasure in exchange for a luxurious lifestyle),again you'd need a culture, where there are taboos around sex for that to be stigmatized. In a culture, where there are no such taboos, sex work is a job like any other,so women who partake in this, shouldn't be described with offensive terms.
Unlike, fae aging and other such things, however this isn't retcon. It is bias on SJM's behalf and lack of ability to understand the nature of sexual mores and taboos. We have the classic case of what some consider good vs bad sexuality. In Nesta's case we have classism. Her sleeping around with poor people is what makes her behaviour embarrassing. It's disgust about lower class men, like she soils herself with them. In "Feyre, Rhysand's whore", there's what the author considers acceptable.Sleeping around the way Mor does is OK,even empowering but if there's some sort of transaction in this, the stigma is well deserved.Unfortunately,a common view even among some so called feminists.Of course, from a world building point of view none of this makes any sense.Such stigmas have a root and when you create a world, with no taboos around sex outside of marriage for the majority of it,then there's no place for them.

✭"don't forget to kiss me or else you'll have to miss me"✭ ~ How Arcane characters show affection headcannons {fem reader}
cast ✧ Vi, Ekko, Jayce, Viktor, Mel
cw ☞slightly pervy jayce (you can't pry him from my cold dead hands), fluff
♞Vi♞
♞Vi kisses like she is starving, and you are the first morsel of food she can get her hands on. Like she is drowning, and you are her first breath of air. It's not just desperate and hungry, but there's also a thankfulness to it. Thank you for sticking with her, thank you for being so patient with her, thank you for loving her. Vi doesn't do anything half-assedly, especially not kissing her pretty girlfriend. It's probably her favorite form of affection because it's so versatile. It doesn't have to lead to the bed if neither of you want it to, sometimes it's just on the couch, you sat in between her large thighs, positively falling into her.
♞Her favorite place to kiss you would be on your lips as she holds you chin in her rough hands. She would kiss you thoroughly and deeply, her tongue languidly kissing your own without a rush or care in the world. She is quite prone to getting overwhelmed herself, squeezing the air from both of your lungs and having the nerve to pout at you when you pull away. On her messier days, she leaves a string of spit behind, but she's always kind enough to wipe it away with a few swipes of her thumb. With every inch you pull back she leans in a mile more, chasing you as you try to catch your breath and when she does pin you down, she holds you impossibly close so you can't escape again until she's had her fill. Even then, she holds you in her large arms and tangles your limbs together, at one point sliding her hand beneath your shirt just to lay it on your tummy and feel it move as you breath.
♞Vi is also secretly a space heater. She runs incredibly hot and because of this, sleeps naked and is always down to give you her jacket. It just makes sense in her mind, seeing her clothing wrapped around you. She likes sharing most things; oddly specifically, drinks. She's gross and thinks it's hot that you're technically swapping spit. When it comes to alcohol, especially if you're not a big drinker, both of you will nurse off the same drink, her tipping your head back and pouring it into your mouth when you get a bit too tipsy to do so yourself without spilling.
♞Her go to pet name is 'pretty' and I will die on this hill. It's the thing that defines you for her. She's an idiot and a loser and she knows there's more to you than just how you look, but she just can't help it that whenever she sees you, all her reptile brain can think is 'pretty'. She absolutely abuses it, too. Besides this, I also think she would use those sleazy kinda bar pet names, like sweets or babydoll. Not in a creepy sleazy way, but that is just realistically what she would've been hearing for terms of endearment.
♞Slight side tangent, in a modern AU she is definitely one of those mascs that gets a hold to some Calvin Klein boxers and takes advantage of every opportunity possible to show the waistband off. Part of it is just her showing affection, even if you can reach tall shelves on your own, she still insists on getting the items for you. This carriers over into many things, like twisting open pickle jars or opening your soda cans if you're someone into longer nails. While she isn't as good with building things as Jinx, I think she would definitely be able to manage putting together the furniture in your shared home. Would it take all day? Well, yes! But you chose to make the best out of it and fuck on top of the furniture to test its sturdiness and congratulate your girlfriend on a job well done.
♞On the topic of nails in a modern AU, she would love a partner who gets them done absolutely goes feral if you get them customized to her liking, like coloring them after her eyes or hair or sneaking her name in there somewhere. She feels like she's made it in life when she can pay to get them done. It seems like a selfless action, but it would be a lie to say she gets nothing out of it. The scratch mark you leave on her back after break her brain a little.
★Ekko★
★Ekko loves cooking for his girlfriend! I feel like that would definitely be his main love language along with quality time. As stated before, you two would spend a lot of time in his kitchen, often times with some source of music providing a background noise to the nonsense that you concoct together, occasionally slow dancing while there's time to kill while waiting for something to finish in the oven. Food fights may occasionally occur, but he does a thorough job of licking you clean after. He claims he 'can't let good food go to waste'.
★He would also have a sketchbook absolutely full of you. You can tell when a new edition is about to be added as well. Ekko isn't loud, but he isn't quiet either. His foot is always tapping, he's usually humming something, he always has something to keep his hands busy. He's hardly ever still, except for those moments when you fully wash over him. Sometimes the lighting is exceptionally beautiful, sometimes it's in appreciation of how the wind moves the world around you, and some moments are just so breathtaking beautiful he has to take a moment to go silent, still, and stare. Sometimes he'll just tell you to be in his presence and be pretty so he can properly commit you to paint and commemorate you forever in oils and brush strokes. He's not above nude paintings, though those strokes look and feel much different.
★Ekko is the CEO of quick kisses. He's a busy guy!! He's running an entire commune. He makes the absolute most out of moments when you have the world to yourselves, but most of what you receive are quick passing kisses on your cheeks or the corner of your mouth. He misses on purpose because he simply does not believe in starting things he doesn't have the time to finish. For this reason, I don't think he'd be a big quickie guy. A kiss can easily just be a kiss, but sex is not something meant to be done in 5 minutes.
★Ekko's favorite place to kiss you would also be your lips. He's a romantic, what can I say!!! At the end of every day, you ask each other how your day was after you've both showered and gotten comfy. You both sit on his bed, set beside each other, your legs haphazardly laid over his as he casually massages your thigh. Sometimes you're both a bit too tired and aren't listening that hard, the occasional tidbit catching your attention making either of you sit straight and get closer until eventually you laid on top of him, both of you half asleep. No matter how much energy either of you has, a good night kiss is to be had. When Ekko doesn't need to be quick, he is impossibly slow. He has all the time and then some.
★Not only does he demand a good night kiss, but a good morning kiss to. He gets pouty without it. And sassy. He tells Scar, very loudly so that everyone can hear him, that you hate and don't love him anymore and he is just so deeply hurt that you would let your boyfriend, you're one true love, leave the house without kissing him goodbye and doesn't shut up about it until he gets his goddamn kiss.
★He loves picking out your outfits. He prides himself on the way he dresses and out of everyone, I think Ekko has the most domestic skills. I've already discussed how well he cooks, but I wouldn't be surprised if he also knew his way around a needle and thread. He is not just wearing any clothes; he has a sense of style that he is very proud of. This being said, he loves going shopping with you in a modern AU and he loves when you eventually get comfortable enough to not retreat into the bathroom when changing from outfit to outfit. He's the one making you do the little spin so he can appreciate the outfit from all angles.
★As far as pet names go, I think Ekko would keep it simple with "babe" or "baby" for more casual usages. I also think he would be fond of "my girl" and expects it from you in return because yes he is "your boy" and yes you are "his girl" and yes he loves you very very much. He wouldn't be a stranger to "my love", especially in the mornings or at night when your face is the first and last thing he sees when he closes his eyes. It makes him feel extra sappy.
❂Jayce❂
❂He is all over you at all times of the day omg. I feel like of everyone, Jayce would be the clingiest. This isn't to say he's attached to you at the hip, but his favorite part of the day is getting to go home to you. You're cooking and there he is sitting on the counter yapping about Hextech or something. You're taking a shower and he wants to join. And it's not just a proximity thing, it's also a touchy thing. Any reason or way he can find to touch you, he is taking it. He doesn't care if it's pathetic, dammit, he wants to be held.
❂Jayce would absolutely thrive in a modern AU. He would be the guy whose social media page are all posts about his girlfriend and does he just love to show you off. He would spoil you so good, but rather than buying anything you wanted like Mel would, I think he would also really enjoy making you presents. This isn't to say he doesn't enjoy buying you things, one of your staple pieces of jewelry is the gold anklet he bought with his initials on it.
❂Physical touch is easily his love language but he cannot handle all that, or rather, he freezes in situations where you initiate it. His hands tend to naturally find your waist and will occasionally, if he's feeling bold enough, slip down to your ass, but one time when it was freezing out, you offered your tits as handwarmers and he got a nosebleed. Jayce is definitely an undercover perv but due to never having a girlfriend before and being completely foreign with the concept that he doesn't need to hide how badly he wants to jump your bones at nearly all hours of the day, he freezes when it comes to you initiating contact.
❂He would definitely be the type to get you teddy bears and flowers just whenever. It's never with any rhyme or reason and it happens rather sporadically, just when he is out and about for any reason and thinks of you and wants to bring you something home. He thinks of you a lot, actually. Mel and Viktor love the both of you, but sometimes he goes a bit overboard when it comes to talking about you. This being said, he jumps at any opportunity to show you off. He loves going to gala's because he likes seeing you in pretty clothes and hanging off his arm. He also likes kissing you in public, even if no one's paying attention. He is well versed in the art of delayed gratification and loves getting the both of you riled up knowing full well he does not have the balls to actually fuck you with people around (he gets loud and is very well aware of this)
❂ Jayce's absolute favorite place to kiss you is your neck. He usually starts with your lips, large hands cupping your cheeks and soft lips moving over yours until he gets more antsy. His hands travel from your cheek to your neck then begin to creep under your clothes to grab and knead at your warm skin. Then he would move down your face, peppering kisses across your lips, down your jaw, then down you neck, panting as he goes along and his hands getting rougher as he tries to remain composed. He stops there for a moment, breath fanning over skin that is now slightly red from his canines nipping you and his fresh stubble scratching the area, reminding himself to be gentle and not take more than he's given. He pleads with you, his own cheeks flushed from the heat of the movement as he mutters out his "please...". He's begged you time and time again to not make him verbalize exactly what he wants, but you are relentless. At least he has the manners to ask sweetly beforehand.
❂He is the type to lay right on top of you. After you've gotten comfy in your bed, thrown on your pajama's, maybe are doing a bit of light reading before bed, he comes around to disturb your peace and lay himself right on top of you, smothering you with kisses while he lays there. He eventually moves out of his starfish position to lay his head on your chest and wrap his arms around your torse. He's like a giant, weighted, warm teddy bear
❂One of his go-to pet names would be 'baby', but only when it just the two of you. He is also quite fond of 'gorgeous' and he always has a stupid smirk on his face when he says it. His favorite would be 'sweetheart'. Slightly off topic, he would be the first to jump the gun and start calling you his wife. Especially to council members that are annoying him and taking up time he'd rather be spending with you, he is very quick to pull a "Sorry, gotta get home to my wife." He bought to matching rings for your one-year anniversary to sell the story better.
☽Viktor☾
☽As far as physical affection goes, I think he would be the least touchy. I think the touches would be concentrated on your face, lazily tracing all of your features, marking where your cheeks sink below your cheek bones, the divot between your chin and lips, and where your face is most pronounced. While he wouldn't call himself an artist, he could probably mold your face in clay from the number of times his feather light fingers have caressed every inch of it. He's utterly entranced by it. His mind often wanders while listening to you speak, eyes roaming from your lips and taking note of them in proportion to your eyes, getting lost in the color of them until his eyes flit to your nose and the way your nostrils slightly flare out. It's very mechanical, but that's just the way his brain works.
☽Less of a hugger but he does like to keep his arms around you. Especially on date nights when you're cuddled up on your couch, a myriad of snacks in between the two of you, your head resting on his shoulder while he tries to hide his snores as he falls in and out of consciousness. You accuse of him trying to go to sleep and he tells you he was just "resting his eyes".
☽He would make you all the trinkets in the world. Many of them start as failed experiments of his or scraps from projects past that need to be repurposed, but the thought is always there. He hates to waste and there's really no need to when he has a girlfriend he can make gifts for. Your vanity is full of pretty side projects, decorative boxes for your makeup, ornate music boxes, tea sets and tiny figurines. Your desk would be full of special tchotchkes.
☽Speaking of tchotchkes, I think that would be one of his playful nicknames for you. It sounds absolutely delectable in his accent. I think he would also go for the classier terms of endearment such as 'dear', 'love', 'darling' as well as variations of them in his mother tongue. He would love teaching you his native language, both as a way to bond even more but also to make sure he never loses it.
☽He would also be big on compliments. He is probably your number one supporter, but not in the loud sports fan with a huge foam finger kinda way, but in a quieter more personal way. He is extremely confident in you and your abilities as well as being endlessly proud of everything you do. He is in complete awe of you, and he tells you as such. It is impossible to feel bad about yourself in his presence, he keeps a mental rolodex of every accomplishment of yours to combat any sort of negative self-talk.
☽Not a big PDA guy. He would rather throw himself out of a window than suck face with you in Jayce's presence. He is a big hand-holder which is disastrous when doing it while walking around because neither one of you can walk straight to save your life. It's not even an issue with his leg because you do it too. You bump into each other all the time, though in the winter it is more often on purpose to keep warm.
☽Viktor's favorite place to kiss you is on your forehead. It's simple and it's sweet and more often than not what he can get away with the most. With how much time he spends in the lab, he has grown to deeply appreciate those quiet moments with you, holding your hand under the table as he works in the low light, papers rustling as he tries to find the specific formula he's looking for. Jayce is across the table, snoring loud enough to keep the both of you awake. You look like you want to kiss him, he can feel your gaze on his lips as your fingers tangle through his hair and he turns to you and gives you a small smile then a sweet kiss on your forehead. When he pulls away, he leans into you and you sit there for a moment, nose to nose. "Just a few moments, love, I'm almost done." You giggle through tiredness. "It won't be a few moments, Vik." And he appreciates your understanding more than most things in the world. "No, it won't. But I'll try to make it quick.", he promises and then plants another kiss on you
☽He really likes reading with you, or just doing activities that allow the both of you to be doing something together without necessarily needing to talk. It doesn't even have to be something he's good at, it could be a painting session, or a pottery lesson, and he would be down. He would also be the type to try and pick up on your hobbies. You like to crochet; he's also picking up a crochet needle to try and work alongside you. And he's not too proud to ask for help, he likes a relationship where both parties are constantly learning and exploring.
☼Mel☼
☼Mel is definitely the type to spoil you. She has so much money and is not afraid to use it. You really like that dress you saw while window shopping? She's already ordered it to be tailored to your exact size. You like that bracelet? You wake up to it in a box on your nightstand the next morning and spot her wearing a matching piece later on that day. It's not to try and buy your love, she just thinks you deserve the world, and if she could buy it, it would be your wedding present.
☼Mel love holding hands at all times and specifically is the type to rub the skin between your pointer finger and thumb. Her skin would also be so soft, touching her feels like touching smooth velvet. She also likes to kiss your knuckles and the inside of your wrist before letting go, the mark her lipstick feeling like a heavy imprint of her lips.
☼She is also very fond of kissing your nose. She thinks 'booping' you with her finger is childish, but she is not above a little peck on the nose, which is the abridged version of her usual ritual of pecking your forehead, nose, and lips. Those kisses are usually taken in the morning when you go your separate ways for the day, particularly those that she knows will be long and tedious. She likes to think she takes part of you with her when she does it. She misses your intellect, she misses the silent indicators of your presence, she misses how you feel. Some days, she greatly yearns to return to you. She feels like a physical weight is lifted off her back and she can actually breathe.
☼She loves spending wash days with you. Those locs take hours and you are there right by her side, gossiping and discussing everything and nothing while royal hairdressers take down or retwist that beautiful head of hair. It's even better if you're the one doing it for her. She likes the feeling of your fingers in her scalp, massaging out the wrinkles in her brain as she goes boneless in between your legs. I, unfortunately, do not think she could return the favor. She is like basically royalty; her whole life someone was likely doing it for her. She would try and learn!! It would just take a little bit.
☼I do think she would be very good at doing your makeup. She has the base routine DOWN and usually likes to do simpler eye looks, though she can do whatever you request of her. All hell breaks loose when it comes time to do lips, and her gloss would end up all over your face as she is overcome with the unabating urge to leave glossy kiss marks all over your face . You would return the favor, whatever pigmented shade you previously wore landing all over her flawless skin, and she would savor the moment with a photo she keeps in her journal
☼In a modern AU, I think she would be really good at carnival games. I can't explain it, she just would. She's not the biggest fan carnivals and fairs as they're a bit too loud and crowded for her taste, but if you wanted to go, she certainly would never say no to you. While I think Vi would try very hard to beat them only to fail, Mel would be unexplainably good at them and win you tons of prizes.
☼Mel carries a purse on her at all times and has absolutely everything in there. Pads, tampons, ibuprofen, lip gloss, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, anything you could possibly need is in that bag of hers. She also carries the big bag so you only have to carry around outfit purses than can barely handle a handful of coins. She also loves matching outfits with you!!! You probably own so many matching outfits, matching pjs, matching workout sets, as well as multiple items of clothing that are the exact same except for sizing.
☼She would be another one who constantly talks about her partner, albeit, in a much smoother way than Jayce does. Jayce jumps at every opportunity to bring you up in conversation, it's always flows naturally with Mel but she also brags far more. It's always, "That's great but my girlfriend..." or finding ways to talk about big accomplishments knowing damn well no one else can compete. See her girlfriend has a doctorate, or her girlfriend won this prestigious award, or her girlfriend was the first to do this...what were you saying about your wife though???
☼As for pet names, I think Mel would be another person who uses "my love" or "my dear" but I also think she'd be the type to refer to you as "princess". Once again, coming from royalty, she treats you as such, and that also comes down to how she refers to you. She also just likes calling you by name, usually in her sappier moments followed by her last name She can't get enough of the way it sounds rolling off her tongue and the two of you together just sounds perfect.

series masterlist
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
It’s been exactly two weeks since she came to terms with the fact that she’s in love with him.
She hasn’t been able to sleep all that well and has tried her very best to avoid Rafe, albeit fruitlessly since he insists on driving her home every day and on top of that, often invites himself over or asks her to stay the night at his— not accepting her excuses about being tired and having to wake up early.
“Why don’t we jus’…be tired ‘n wake up early together then?” his grin is playful. And how is she meant to refuse that?
And if everything he does wasn’t already suffocating her enough, he’s now helping with the renovation of the cafe since her boss wanted to expand the business; turn the small coffee shop into a bigger one in hopes of more space for new tables and seats, because the amount of clients they got was beginning to be too much for everyone to comfortably enjoy their stay.
Therefore, she now has to work in the same building as him every single day because (unfortunately) the renovation work isn’t disturbing the current cafe from running nor decreasing the number of customers with a sweet tooth or a craving for their usual morning coffee.
And none of this would be a problem, if Rafe wasn’t walking around all sweaty and dusty, biceps bulging whenever he’d lift wooden planks over his shoulder or carry around different equipment— looking as attractive as ever.
And with these newfound lovey-dovey feelings trying to break through the surface, she doesn’t know how she’s supposed to stop herself from ogling him or keep her rapid heartbeats to herself whenever he wanders over for a chat on his breaks. She tries to act as normal as she can, but she can tell that he’s starting to pick up on her excessive rambling and stuttering, flushed cheeks and anxious fingers fixing her hair every two seconds whenever he’s talking to her.
In fact, she’s certain he can see right through her, knows that she’s hiding something. She can practically see how he wants to bring it up more often than not, but seemingly hasn’t found the right way to approach the subject yet, and she can sense that she’s running out of time— can’t tolerate lying to him for much longer.
She’s been thinking this whole thing through over and over again, to the point of her head hurting while she bakes Rafe’s favorite lemon raspberry cookies as a distraction and because he’s been working so hard she wants to surprise him; see the soft smile that makes the whole world glitter whenever he graces her with it.
And she wants to tell him, wants him to know how deeply she feels for him; how much she appreciates him but every time she tries to open her mouth, the words seem to evaporate before they’ve even begun to sprout on her nervous tongue.
Because what if he doesn’t feel the same way? What if this is all just a casual thing for him and she’s making it into something more than it is? These bleak thoughts turn her mood sour— a pout forming on her lips as she concentrates on topping the flamingo pink icing with fresh blueberries, adding the final touches to their most popular vanilla cupcakes.
And as she’s taking Rafe’s cookies out the oven, she comes to the conclusion that she really only has two options; she either tells him or she doesn’t.
If she tells him, there’s a very high possibility that he looks at her with a crease between his brows and words about not wanting for this to be anything serious hitting her against the face. And if she doesn’t, then…well she doesn’t really have anything to lose, does she? Except maybe the what ifs haunting her for the rest of eternity.
She tries to get rid of the tormenting thoughts with a shake of her head as she sets the cookies off to cool down, and begins to place the finished cupcakes onto the display counter, trying her hardest to just forget about it all.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Later that day, when Rafe is contently munching on the cookies she plated for him and happily distracting her from work, someone approaches the counter; a girl with glossy lips and shiny hair.
“Hi! Could I please get a mango matcha latte?” her eyes are as green as grass as she places her order.
“Of course, would you like it with ice or no ice?”
“With ice, please.”
“Coming right up,” she gives the girl a polite smile when her payment goes through.
“You’re working on the renovation?” the girl’s attention then turns towards Rafe, making Y/N’s gaze flicker over to them as she puts blended mango into the bottom of a tall glass.
“Yeah, the cafe’s gon’ be twice as big as it’s now,” he drawls, putting the half-eaten baked good down.
“That’s so cool. You know, I’ve always wondered how construction workers are so strong. Do you go to the gym a lot?” a saccharine voice reaches Y/N’s ears, making her brows furrow while she measures the right amount of matcha powder, trying to appear nonchalant.
“Uh, yeah, yeah, also think mworkdays sometimes count as workouts,” he scratches the back of his head as she lets out a giggle. It wasn’t that funny, Y/N thinks with a roll of her eyes.
“Hey, I was actually wondering if maybe you’d wanna hang out sometime? Could give you my number?”
Something muddy swirls in her stomach in response to the girl’s straightforward question. She doesn’t particularly appreciate the fact that she’s blatantly hitting on Rafe right in front of her, even if she’s painfully aware that they’re not together and the girl probably assumed they were just friends, which they are.
However, she can’t prevent herself from turning grumpy from the mere notion of him being interested in someone else. After all, the girl is stunning and she wouldn’t really blame him if he wanted to at least consider her offer.
“Uh, m’actually not available right now,” he offers an apologetic smile when the girl’s shoulders slump.
“No? That’s a shame. Well, let me know when that changes?” she gives him a flirty smile that makes Y/N quietly scoff as she pours the milk into the mix.
“S’not changing anytime soon,” she mutters under her breath, making both of their heads turn towards her.
Fuck, did she really say that out loud?
“Sorry?” the girl asks, muted jade settling on her suddenly tense form.
“Oh, um— jus’ that…here’s your drink,” she peeps out in her state of embarrassment, feeling Rafe’s eyes burning into the side of her face as she sticks a paper straw into the beverage; the ice cubes clinking together when she hands it out to her.
“Right, thanks,” she says before looking over to Rafe once more, seemingly expecting him to give her an answer of his own.
“Uh…yeah, what she said. Not changin’ anytime soon,” his grin is wide, making the girl’s cheeks flush.
And when it’s just the two of them again, she flits her eyes down— busying herself with a wooden container of tea bags she’s trying to organize, unable to face him.
“What was, uh…what was that about?” his tone is taunting, an annoying smirk playing on his features.
“Nothing,” she quickly dismisses, avoiding his gaze.
“Nothin’? You’re tellin’ me you weren’t just real fuckin’ jealous two seconds ago?”
“N—no,” she can’t even convince herself with the pitiful denial.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart, m’all yours, alright?” he chuckles as he stuffs the rest of the cookie into his mouth.
“How did you know I jus’ was cravin’ these?” he asks around the mouthful as she tries to brush aside the sudden tingle in her ribcage.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
A few days later, when her shift is coming to an end, her other coworker already beginning to take orders and telling her she’s free to go, she drags Rafe behind the counter and practically forces him to taste test a new recipe she’s tried out; a walnut carrot cake with lime buttercream.
“Wow, this is…amazing. The sourness in the frosting is so good,” his voice is muffled by his chewing and her heart warms in response to his commentary, never one to shy away from showering her in compliments.
“You think so? I actually added the lime jus’ cause I know how much you like citrus fruits so, m’really glad you like it,” she beams at him.
“Yeah? Made this jus’ for me, huh? Can I ask why m’gettin’ this special treatment all of a sudden?” his tone is playful, tongue licking over his bottom lip to clean up the bit of icing lingering there.
“Well, cause I love you and—” she blurts out before her entire body tenses; mouth hanging open in shock and wide eyes slowly moving to look at him, trying to verify whether he heard it or not. Of course he did. She wasn’t exactly quiet now, was she?
“You…you love me?” he raises his brows in surprise.
“Uh…I— I didn’t mean to…I mean, you probably don’t feel the same so doesn’t really matter. Just— um...jus’ forget I said that. I don’t know why I—”
“What are you talkin’ about? You think I spend most of my time with you cause I…what? Dislike you? You can be so silly sometimes, you know?” he scoffs, setting the golden fork down on the porcelain plate.
She stays silent.
“What I’m sayin’ is that m’obsessed with you. I mean, you’re even in my fuckin’ dreams, right? But listen, love has always been a little, uh, tricky for me cause m’relationship with my family has always been, uh, complicated? But if me wantin’ to spend every second of my day with you means I love you too, then, shit, maybe I do. But I need some time before I can really say that shit, you get that?” his words are honest and raw and she thinks her rattling heart is going to beat out of her chest.
“I— um…yeah, of course. Take all the time you need,” she finally manages out.
“Hey, c’mere,” he says before he’s practically dragging her dumbfounded form into his embrace; — beefy arms pulling her flush against his chest.
“I mean, we’re basically already datin’ at this point, no? Wasn’t sure how to make it official without freakin’ you out but since you love me, think you’re all good, yeah?”
She mumbles something incoherent in response.
“So wanna be my little girlfriend or what?” he murmurs into her hair.
“I— of course I do,” she speaks against his shirt.
“Yeah?”
“Mhm,” she hums before he tucks an index finger under her chin and lifts her face to look up at him—his thumb toying with her bottom lip before he’s leaning down and smearing a sloppy kiss against her mouth.
“Shit, you’re so adorable, jus’ wanna swallow you whole sometimes,” he murmurs with a soft smile tugging at his lips and eyes twinkling with something syrupy in them.
“I love you,” she mumbles, almost inaudible; words still too tender to consciously say out loud.
“Say it again,” he practically demands.
“Um…I love you,” her voice is nearly a whisper.
“What was that? Think you can say it a little louder?” he teases.
“Rafe, stop…you’re embarrassing me,” she whines, cheeks heating up.
“No, m’not. Jus’ wanna hear you say it,” his smirk is all big and smug and it makes her huff.
“ILOVEYOU, okay?” the words mesh together like fluffy clouds in the sky and her volume is louder than he’s probably ever heard it, causing a couple of curious heads to turn and the lively chatter around them to quiet down some.
“Yeah? You guys heard that? She LOVES me,” he’s nearly shouting, looking around with a stupid grin on his face— making her flush and hide behind her hands as a few customers cheerfully titter in entertainment.
“Congrats, dude!” someone even yells.
“Oh my god, Rafe. Why would you do that?” her mortified eyes widen as she crouches down; trying to find shelter behind the pale-yellow counter. “M’never leaving my house again,” she complains with a glare.
However, he doesn’t seem all that bothered by the whole thing, simply chuckling with dimples denting his cheeks— the light-hearted sound making her stomach flutter despite the humiliation crawling up her spine and making her want to vanish into the cracks on the floorboards.
“Of course you are, m’your boyfriend now which means m’takin’ you out on a date tomorrow, yeah?” he lifts her up with a grip on her waist, pulling her flush against him while his fingertips slip underneath the hem of her shirt, smoothing over her bare stomach and making her let out a squeak.
Then, he’s grasping her jaw in one hand and pressing his mouth on hers again— her protests withering away like a dead rose when he slips his tongue past the seam of her lips, dragging out an involuntary whimper from her, before she pulls away and hides her face in his chest when she feels multiple pairs of eyes staring at them.
“Rafe, can we just go already?” she pleads, voice small before he’s guiding her out of the coffee shop; his hand resting on the small of her back and calming her down some.
And despite the little scene he caused, she thinks she might just be the happiest girl on the island as he helps her climb into his truck with a honeyed kiss warming the apple of her cheek.

okay look, calming down - i understand why some people would want zelda to be a protagonist in like a totk-style 3d zelda. that would be great! the reason i predicted 2d for playable zelda is because its a smaller gamble for nintendo - imo, its realistically what we could get. especially at the end of the switch' life cycle AND so soon after totk.
BUT i'm very happy, for a few reasons:
1. it IS mainline zelda. its not called "triforce heroes" or "tingle's rosy rupeeland", its not a peach-style spinoff or side game. its a real zelda game. its called THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: ECHOES OF WISDOM. that alone, giving the mainline zelda brand prestige to this, IS a risk. and its one i super appreciate nintendo taking!!!
2. i disagree that just because it has the links awakening toy-style aesthetic, that automatically makes it a "lesser" or unserious game. links awakening IS a good game! its some peoples favorite! it added interesting lore to the zelda series, its a canon part of the timeline, its mechanically fun, and it has the fun psychological element of analyzing it in terms of links feelings about the dream. like how even the boss monsters are fearful of "dying", begging link not to destroy the island. which of course isn't "real" since its a dream, but its interesting that link would THINK that. also, marin 💔
3. like i said in the prediction post, this could be understood as a testfire for the concept. IF its as successful as any other 2d zelda game (and thats a big if! i already see people calling it more niche or for babies. i hope that doesnt catch on too much and depress hype 😞), maybe nintendo WILL see it as less of a gamble to make zelda the protagonist in a full-on, "serious" 3d title. nintendo is, after all, a business. trying it out with a smaller game makes total sense.
Tumblr media
also... it looks like a good game? when a link between worlds was released, everyone thought the wall merging ability was brilliant and a great way to turn 2d zelda into a more unique experience.
this, to me, looks to have similar potential!! the fact that zelda can essentially order enemies to fight for her and use her environment to think of intelligent solutions to any problem is very in-character! it's fitting both for a princess and for the bearer of the triforce of wisdom.
also, its not just building/environment traversal! she does fight!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
idk y'all, this looks like a great time to me! i don't know why people would presume its any "lesser" than any other 2d zelda... when we've literally seen another 2d zelda with this exact artstyle. and its an original game!! its not a remake!! :D

The Key to Your Destiny: the chart ruler in the houses
Look at your Ascendant (Rising sign) to find your chart ruler. The planet that rules this sign is your chart ruler. For example, if your Ascendant is Sagittarius, your chart ruler is Jupiter. Once you know the ruling planet, find it in your chart. This will show you how it influences your life, giving insight into your personality and life path.
Tumblr media
The chart ruler in the 1st house
When your chart ruler is in the 1st house, your destiny starts and ends with you. You’re not here to live in someone else’s shadow or follow a path laid out for you—you’re here to figure out exactly who you are and own it. Life constantly pushes you to step up, take the lead, and trust yourself, even when no one else does.
There’s a strong sense of independence with this placement. You’re not the type to sit around waiting for permission or for things to fall into place. The more you take charge and make things happen on your own terms, the more everything starts to click. Your presence naturally stands out—whether you realize it or not, people notice you. There’s something about your energy that demands attention, and part of your journey is learning to embrace that instead of shying away from it.
You’re meant to be bold, make decisions confidently, and walk through life with a sense of purpose. The more you own who you are, the more life opens up for you.
The chart ruler in the 2nd house
When your chart ruler is in the 2nd house, your destiny is all about building something solid—whether that’s wealth, self-worth, or a life that feels secure and meaningful. You’re here to figure out what really matters to you, what you value, and how to create lasting stability in your world. Unlike people who drift from one thing to the next, you’re meant to establish something real, something that lasts.
Money and material security might play a big role in your journey, but it’s not just about making money for the sake of it. It’s about learning how to create your own resources and stand on your own two feet. You’re not here to depend on anyone else for stability—your path pushes you to build confidence in your own abilities and prove to yourself that you can create the life you want. The more you trust in your own value, the more life rewards you.
A big part of your journey is about knowing your worth, not just financially but as a person. You might go through phases where you question what you bring to the table, but life will keep pushing you to own your strengths and claim what you deserve. The key to your destiny is learning that you are your greatest resource—your skills, your talents, and your persistence are what will bring you success.
This is not a placement for shortcuts or quick fixes. The things that matter to you will take time, patience, and effort, but once you build them, they last. The more you invest in yourself—whether through your talents, your confidence, or your financial stability—the more life opens up to you. Your destiny is about creating something of real value, something that reflects your true worth, and knowing deep down that you deserve it.
The chart ruler in the 3rd house
When your chart ruler is in the 3rd house, your destiny is all about communication, learning, and making connections. You’re here to explore ideas, share what you know, and stay curious about the world around you. Life pushes you to use your voice—whether through speaking, writing, teaching, or even casual conversations, you have a way of influencing people through words.
Your journey is about movement, both mentally and physically. You’re not meant to stay in one place for too long, whether that’s a mindset, a career, or even a location. There’s always something new to learn, someone new to meet, or an idea that sparks a fresh perspective. The more you stay open to new experiences, the more life unfolds for you.
You might feel like you’re constantly gathering information, but part of your path is learning how to use it. You’re meant to connect the dots, to take what you’ve learned and pass it on in a way that helps others. Whether that’s through writing, networking, or even just being the person who always knows what’s going on, your destiny is tied to the exchange of ideas.
You’re also here to master the art of adaptability. Life will challenge you to think on your feet, stay flexible, and find ways to navigate through situations with intelligence and quick thinking. You don’t need to have all the answers upfront—just stay curious, keep asking questions, and trust that the right opportunities will come through your ability to connect, communicate, and learn.
The chart ruler in the 4th house
When your chart ruler is in the 4th house, your destiny is tied to home, family, and finding a place where you truly belong. It's not just about where you live—it's about creating a foundation in life that feels safe and meaningful. You're here to figure out what "home" really means to you, whether that's through deep emotional connections, building a family, or simply creating a life where you feel at peace.
A big part of your journey is understanding your roots. Your past, your upbringing, and your family history all shape you in ways that might take time to fully realize. You might feel a strong connection to where you come from, or you might be working to break free from old family patterns and create something different for yourself. Either way, life keeps leading you back to these themes, pushing you to explore where you've been so you can decide where you want to go.
Emotional security is huge for you. More than success or recognition, you need to feel safe and supported, and a lot of your decisions revolve around that. You're not meant to live life in a detached, surface-level way—you're here to build deep, meaningful connections with people and places. You feel things deeply, and whether you realize it or not, you have a natural ability to nurture and protect those around you.
Your destiny isn't necessarily about chasing something "out there" in the world—it's about creating a sense of belonging, whether that's in your relationships, your home, or within yourself. When you embrace the idea that your emotional world is just as important as any external achievement, life starts to feel a lot more aligned. You're here to build something real, something lasting, and something that feels like home—whatever that means to you.
The chart ruler in the 5th house
When your chart ruler is in the 5th house, your destiny is all about self-expression, joy, and creating a life that feels alive. You’re here to shine in your own way, to embrace what makes you unique, and to bring a sense of playfulness and passion into everything you do. Life isn’t meant to be dull for you—you thrive when you follow your heart and pour your energy into things that light you up.
Creativity is a huge theme in your journey. That doesn’t mean you have to be an artist (though you might be), but it does mean you’re meant to create something—whether it’s art, ideas, experiences, or even just unforgettable memories. You’re happiest when you have the freedom to express yourself without holding back. The more you lean into what excites and inspires you, the more doors open.
Love and romance might also play a big role in your path. You love deeply, and relationships have a way of shaping your personal growth. Whether it’s through romantic experiences, deep connections, or even learning about yourself through heartbreak, your journey is often tied to matters of the heart. The key is learning to love without losing yourself—your identity and self-expression always come first.
There’s also something magnetic about you. Whether you realize it or not, people are drawn to your energy, your confidence, or simply the way you bring life to any situation. You’re not meant to live a life that feels small or routine. The universe keeps nudging you to take center stage in your own life, to take risks, and to stop second-guessing what brings you happiness.
At the end of the day, your destiny is about being yourself without fear. You’re here to embrace joy, to live boldly, and to remind others that life is meant to be felt. The more you follow what excites you, the more life unfolds in the best way possible.
The chart ruler in the 6th house
When your chart ruler is in the 6th house, your destiny is about growth through dedication, service, and mastering the little things that make a big difference. You’re here to refine yourself—your skills, your routines, your mindset—so that you can create a life that’s both meaningful and functional. The key to your path isn’t some grand, sweeping moment of fate; it’s in the small, everyday actions that shape who you become.
You’re someone who finds purpose in being useful. Whether it’s through your work, helping others, or simply improving yourself day by day, you’re wired to care about progress. Life pushes you to develop strong habits, pay attention to the details, and take pride in what you do. You might feel like you’re always working toward something—bettering yourself, fixing things, figuring out how to be more efficient. That’s because your journey is about refining your craft, whatever that may be.
Health and well-being also play a big role in your life. That doesn’t mean you have to be a fitness guru, but it does mean that taking care of your body, mind, and routines is key to feeling aligned. When your life is out of balance, you feel it—physically, mentally, or emotionally. Structure and discipline help you thrive, and when you start treating your daily habits as the foundation of your success, everything starts to fall into place.
Service to others is another major theme for you. Whether through your career or just in your daily life, you’re someone people rely on. You have a natural ability to help, fix, and improve things, and while that’s a gift, it’s also important to set boundaries. Your destiny isn’t just about working hard for others—it’s about finding work and routines that make you feel fulfilled, too.
At the core, your path is about becoming better, step by step, and using what you’ve learned to improve not just your own life but the world around you. You’re not here for shortcuts or overnight success—you’re here to build something solid through patience, skill, and dedication. When you focus on the process rather than the outcome, you’ll find that success and fulfillment naturally follow.
The chart ruler in the 7th house
When your chart ruler is in the 7th house, your destiny is all about relationships—not just in a romantic sense, but in how you connect, collaborate, and learn about yourself through others. Life keeps throwing important people your way, and each one has something to teach you. You’re not meant to figure things out in isolation—your growth happens through partnerships, friendships, and the connections you form.
You naturally understand people. Whether it’s through deep conversations, working together, or just picking up on the energy of those around you, you have a way of seeing things from different perspectives. But one of your biggest lessons is learning how to balance your relationships without losing yourself in them. It’s easy for you to focus on what others want or expect, but life pushes you to make sure you’re showing up as you, not just the version that keeps everyone else happy.
Love and partnerships play a huge role in shaping your path. Your most defining moments might come through relationships—whether they’re incredibly fulfilling, deeply challenging, or both. The people you attract tend to reflect something about yourself, even if it’s not always obvious at first. Choosing the right connections is key because they have the power to either bring out your best or make you feel stuck in patterns that don’t serve you.
This placement also makes you someone who thrives when working with others. You’re great at negotiation, compromise, and making things run smoothly between people. Whether in business, creative projects, or personal relationships, you do your best work when you’re bouncing ideas off someone else. You’re not meant to go at it alone—success, fulfillment, and growth all come through meaningful connections.
At the core of it all, your destiny is about learning who you are through others but not letting others define you. When you find the balance between honoring your relationships and staying true to yourself, that’s when everything clicks into place.
The chart ruler in the 8th house
When your chart ruler is in the 8th house, your destiny is all about transformation. Life keeps pushing you into deep, intense experiences—not just for the sake of struggle but because you’re meant to evolve, grow, and come out stronger every time. You’re not here to live on the surface. Your path involves diving deep into emotions, power dynamics, and the things most people are afraid to confront.
You have a natural pull toward the hidden layers of life—psychology, spirituality, taboo topics, or anything that reveals what’s beneath the surface. Whether it’s understanding human nature, healing emotional wounds, or dealing with financial and energetic exchanges, your journey involves learning to navigate power in all its forms. You’re not afraid of what’s raw and real, and you often find yourself in situations where you’re asked to face your fears and come out transformed.
There’s also a strong theme of rebirth in your life. You might go through major shifts where you leave behind an old version of yourself and step into something completely new. This could be through emotional healing, financial shifts, or even moments where life forces you to start over. Every time this happens, you emerge wiser, stronger, and more in tune with your power.
At the end of the day, your destiny is about embracing change rather than fearing it. You’re meant to evolve, to shed layers, and to rise from whatever life throws at you. The more you lean into transformation instead of resisting it, the more you step into the full force of your power.
The chart ruler in the 9th house
When your chart ruler is in the 9th house, your destiny is all about expansion—of your mind, your experiences, and your understanding of the world. You’re here to explore, seek truth, and break free from limitations, whether they’re physical, mental, or cultural. Life keeps pushing you to step outside of your comfort zone because that’s where you thrive.
You’re naturally curious, always looking for something bigger—whether it’s through travel, education, philosophy, or spirituality. You don’t just accept things at face value; you want to know why things are the way they are. Your journey often involves questioning beliefs—both yours and those of the world around you. The more you learn, the more you grow, and the more life opens up for you.
Travel, whether literal or metaphorical, plays a big role in your path. You might feel drawn to different cultures, distant places, or ways of thinking that challenge your perspective. Even if you don’t physically travel, your mind does. You thrive when you have the freedom to explore new ideas and ways of life. You’re not meant to stay stuck in one place—your destiny unfolds when you allow yourself to chase what excites you.
Teaching, writing, or guiding others could be part of your purpose, whether formally or just through sharing your experiences. You have a way of inspiring people with your wisdom, helping them see beyond their immediate surroundings. You’re not just here to learn—you’re here to pass on what you’ve discovered.
Your destiny is about seeking, exploring, and expanding—both yourself and the world around you. The more you follow what excites your mind and soul, the more life rewards you with the experiences and wisdom you’re meant to collect.
The chart ruler in the 10th house
When your chart ruler is in the 10th house, your destiny is tied to your career, public image, and the mark you leave on the world. You’re here to build something meaningful, step into a leadership position, and take your ambitions seriously. Whether you realize it or not, people look to you as someone with purpose, someone who’s meant to achieve something significant.
Work and reputation are central themes in your life. You might feel an early sense of responsibility, like you’re supposed to be someone or accomplish something big. You don’t just want a job—you want a path that feels like it means something, whether that’s through a traditional career, creative pursuits, or building your own thing from the ground up. The challenge is figuring out exactly what that purpose is and having the patience to build it.
You naturally carry an air of authority, even if you don’t always feel it. People notice you. Whether it’s in your professional field or just the way you carry yourself, you leave an impression.
You might sometimes feel pressure to live up to expectations—whether from society, family, or even yourself. It’s important to define success on your terms rather than chasing goals that don’t actually fulfill you. Balance is key; ambition is great, but not at the cost of your well-being.
Your destiny is about rising to your full potential. You’re meant to take your place in the world, to be respected for what you do, and to create something lasting. The more you commit to your path and embrace the responsibility that comes with it, the more aligned you feel. You’re here to make an impact—own it.
The chart ruler in the 11th house
When your chart ruler is in the 11th house, your destiny is tied to people, big ideas, and the impact you make on the world. You’re not here to walk a solitary path—you thrive when you’re part of something bigger than yourself. Whether it’s through friendships, communities, social movements, or innovation, you’re meant to connect, inspire, and contribute to the collective in a meaningful way.
You naturally gravitate toward groups and networks that share your vision. You might feel drawn to activism, technology, humanitarian efforts, or creative collaborations that push society forward. There’s something about you that makes people listen—you’re forward-thinking, open to new ideas, and have a knack for seeing possibilities that others don’t. Life will keep leading you toward situations where you can make a difference, whether that’s through leadership, mentorship, or simply being the person who brings people together.
Friendships and social circles play a major role in your path. The right connections can open doors for you, and your success is often linked to the people you surround yourself with. Unlike those who climb the ladder alone, you rise through collaboration. At times, though, you may struggle with feeling like an outsider—like you see the bigger picture, but others don’t always get it. The key is finding your people—those who match your energy and understand your vision.
Your ambitions often extend beyond personal success. You’re not just thinking about what you want to achieve but why it matters. Maybe you’re drawn to work that benefits others, or you feel fulfilled when you’re part of something revolutionary. You’re here to challenge norms, break old patterns, and introduce fresh ideas into the world.
Your destiny is about making an impact—not just for yourself, but for the greater good. The more you embrace your role as a connector, innovator, and visionary, the more life aligns in your favor. You’re here to inspire change, build meaningful relationships, and show people what’s possible when we come together.
The chart ruler in the 12th house
When your chart ruler is in the 12th house, your destiny is deeply connected to introspection, spirituality, and the unseen forces that shape life. You’re not here to follow a conventional path—the universe keeps nudging you toward deeper understanding, inner growth, and a connection to something greater than yourself. Whether you realize it or not, there’s a part of you that feels drawn to the mysteries of life, the things that can’t always be explained in logical terms.
You might feel like you live in two worlds—the physical world, where you have responsibilities and expectations, and an inner world that’s rich, complex, and deeply intuitive. This placement often brings a strong connection to dreams, creativity, spirituality, or the subconscious. You may find yourself drawn to healing, psychology, mysticism, or any field that allows you to explore the hidden depths of human nature.
Solitude is important for you. Unlike people who gain energy from external validation, you often need time alone to process and recharge. This doesn’t mean isolation—it just means that your growth happens in quiet, reflective moments. Meditation, journaling, or creative expression might be ways you tap into your inner world and make sense of your experiences.
Service to others may also be part of your destiny. Whether through art, healing or simply offering deep empathy to those in need, you have a way of understanding pain and offering comfort. But it’s important to set boundaries—because you absorb energy so easily, you can sometimes take on others’ emotions without realizing it.
Your destiny is about surrendering to the flow of life rather than forcing a specific outcome. The more you trust your intuition, embrace your inner world, and allow yourself to move with life’s rhythms, the more your true path unfolds. You’re here to bridge the seen and the unseen, to understand life in ways that others might overlook, and to bring depth, compassion, and wisdom into the world.

Alright I told myself I wouldn't interact with fandom when s2 came out, and I haven't and don't plan to except to say this about people deciding Caitlyn is the Worst or that the writing is OOC.
As someone who has had a family member violently killed, I cannot stress how much it shakes up everything you thought you were and stood for. My beliefs in proportionate compassionate justice and the rights of all human beings are some of the strongest I have (stronger now because of the way that experience affected me personally), but they were pushed to the absolute limit when it came to an individual who had killed my loved one, showed no remorse, and laughed in our faces outside court, among other things.
People generally like to believe it wouldn't be them or their peace-loving family members being talked down from seriously considering violent revenge, consequences be damned. People like to believe they wouldn't lash out at people closest to them under that pressure, that they wouldn't build walls around the kindest and most sensitive parts of themselves because those parts are the ones feeling pain you never thought possible, that they wouldn't stalk the killer, make notes on all their family and friends, and fuck up their hands punching walls in anger wishing so badly it was flesh and bone because they can't handle the fact that there's no way to turn back time to stop it all from happening. People like to think they're "better" than that. But the reality is messy and painful as hell.
With Caitlyn, she has the added guilt of having actually had the opportunity to stop Jinx before she fired the rocket, but she hesitated just long enough for it to result in the deaths of her mother and other councillors and in the cities being plunged into chaos. Not only that, but the person close to her she's lashing out at is the person who caused her to hesitate, and just so happens to be the sister of the killer.
Furthermore, her behaviour is entirely in character. We have seen her set up as someone who becomes obsessed with achieving a goal and will do pretty much anything she wants to get there. In S1, we agreed with her methods because her goal was exposing and taking down Silco, and because it led to Vi being released. In S2, she's doing a similar thing but it's fuelled by fear and a type of pain she doesn't know how to deal with, rather than being fuelled by a need to prove herself and solve a case, and it leads to her making morally questionable decisions and to hurting Vi. She admits herself, albeit privately to Vi, that she does not know what she's doing and doesn't know how to fill this hole in her chest (and the hole in the city leadership). She has been sheltered from the real world for almost all her life, and as a result she has no experience of functioning or making decisions under this kind of pressure. The real world blew up in her face in the worst way and she was given power and a loaded rifle, and then shoved into an even more elevated position by a very experienced warlord who is manipulating the shit out of the whole situation.
I'm not saying that you have free rein to hurt people when you're grieving and facing extreme stress. (If you think that's what I'm saying then idk I'm not sure there's much hope for you in terms of critical thinking skills). What I'm saying is that Caitlyn is exhibiting pretty normal human behaviour that most people would be susceptible to in those circumstances, not the behaviour of someone who is some kind of heartless abusive bastard.
TLDR: Caitlyn is being written in a way that completely makes sense and is also not OOC, and if someone told me there would be no chance of them reacting in similar ways I simply would not believe them.

Your rising sign can reveal how you structure your daily life and the overall rhythm you seek in your day-to-day experiences. It doesn’t necessarily dictate your actions in the way that Mars does, but it does shape the way you naturally move through life. Let’s dive in.
Fire Rising Signs
Fire risings crave action and excitement in their daily lives. They get bored easily and need constant stimulation to feel engaged. These individuals thrive on spontaneity, preferring to do things in bursts of inspiration rather than following rigid schedules. Their days often feel dynamic and unpredictable, as they enjoy the freedom to act on impulse rather than adhering to carefully structured plans.
Earth Rising Signs
Earth risings, in contrast, prefer consistency and gradual progress. Their daily lives revolve around building something long-term—whether it’s a career, skill, or personal development. Every day, their actions contribute to their broader goals, even if they don’t always follow a strict plan. These individuals prioritize self-improvement, structure, and tangible achievements, ensuring that each day aligns with their overarching ambitions.
Air Rising Signs
Air risings are naturally restless and thrive on social interaction. Their daily lives are centered around communication, connection, and intellectual stimulation. Whether it’s hanging out with friends, meeting new people, engaging in deep conversations, or even scrolling through social media, air risings need a steady flow of interaction to feel fulfilled. If they go too long without social engagement, they can become frustrated or restless.
Water Rising Signs
Water risings prioritize emotional comfort and inner peace in their daily lives. Their focus is on avoiding stress, maintaining emotional balance, and creating a sense of security. For them, comfort is everything—it may come in the form of a peaceful home, familiar routines, or simply withdrawing from the outside world when needed. Water risings tend to be introspective, homebodies at heart, and deeply in tune with their emotional needs, often seeking solitude or environments that make them feel safe and nurtured.

Yandere Movie Week [review]
Tumblr media
Day 1 - Fear (1996)
Yandere Score: 8/10
Overall Score: 8/10
Fear does exactly what it's supposed to. Not perfectly by any means, but well enough that I don't mind spending an hour and a half in its world.
A very fun world too - cute fashion, a great score, pleasing cinematography and a male lead who slowly becomes more despicable the longer the film goes on. Alyssa Milano, Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon look incredible the entire movie. And I guess their acting isn't bad either.
We start off with a man out on a jog. And we know it's going to be a thriller because a) shaky cam and b) very dramatic music just two minutes in. Great start. After that, we're introduced to Nicole (Reese Witherspoon), a high schooler with a slightly strained relationship with her dad and teenage angst lite.
She's cute. The girl next door with a daddy's girl bracelet and a kid brother who loves her. If she didn't have the bad luck of running into a bad man, I'd say things would have worked out just dandy.
But no such luck. Not for you kid.
Enter David.
He walks on screen to audible screams from the audience (me). He's hot. And the way he's introduced is hot. Shady bar, music in the background, leather jacket delinquents playing pool. From the get go, he screams bad boy. Rubbing (read: jerking off) his pool cue - at hip height - while looking at our female lead? C'mon, that's too easy.
I won't go into detail, but they obviously end up in a relationship. And it's hot stuff. At one point, he has his hand up her her skirt while they're on a rollercoaster. Yeah, we all see the symbolism. Coming (down) must be pretty fun on a ride like that, huh Nic?
It's not great the entire movie - their first conversation is stilted and awkward, filled with clichés. But the build up in tension is what does it for me.
There are plenty of little things that tip you off from the get go. David isn't as nice as he seems, not by a long shot.
It starts with a few tense looks between him and Nicole's dad. Just a father being a bit picky, right? Nope. He turns back the office clock so he can have a little more time with Nicole before curfew. He flirts with her best friend. He tells Nicole to, "Get me a coke." Bossy. Commanding.
I'll be honest, if I didn't know the synopsis of the film, I'd say dear old dad was being overly protective. Nope. Those red flags are about as red as they can get.
When things start going off the rails, the movie handles it pretty well. The scenes are decently tense, even though they're missing that little bit of careful handling that would make them terrifying.
As a yandere, David does everything you'd expect. He's manipulative. He's violent. He doesn't know where to draw the line in anything. Oh, and he's hot. Did I mention that already?
He's a Levi's and t-shirt kind of guy, with a great car, a nice voice, and biceps you want to sink your teeth into. When it comes to deranged stalkers, you can do a LOT worse.
The third act is a ball of a time. There's room for it to have been a bit more tense - it suffers from being a little too short, the twists not having enough time to breathe. The pace doesn't feel quick in the so much happening, I'm at the edge of my seat sort of way, but in the oh no, we only have the budget for thirty more minutes of run time sort of way.
Still, it's very enjoyable. David says and does plenty of very yandere things. I'm absolutely stealing some of his lines.
In terms of style, the movie is a knockout. I think it's a big part of what carries my recommendation. The cinematography is really pleasing, with lots of reds and dark greens. Very 'Seattle on a rainy day.' The sound track is totally 90's, with a nice mix of rock, pop and indie. It gives the movie a sense of place and time that exponentially improves the story.
How does it hold up as a piece of yandere media? It doesn't do anything radical or new, but the classics it sticks to are done well enough that it's worth the watch.
Oh, and David is very hot. I don't know if I mentioned that.

Read the cop post you reblogged. Apologies if I’m being too literal. I’ve had ppl break into my house before. What am I supposed to do in that situation? Shoot the person? Let them shoot me? Genuinely asking for an alternative bc I don’t want to call the cops ever. It just feels like it’s often ppl who don’t live in areas with higher crime who post stuff like that and it feels out of touch with the reality some are living in. Most ppl in my neighborhood don’t want to abolish the police. It’s white liberals, leftists, anarchists who get to live that out more. Idk if this makes sense, but would love to hear others thoughts.
I have also had people break into my home, I've heard drills run on my block multiple times in just the past year, I've witnessed multiple shootings, violent domestic assault outside my home, etc. I also live in a racially diverse area and speak regularly with my neighbors and yeah, a 70-year-old Black grandmother in Chicago is far more likely to be a pro-cop Trump supporter than she is to be a radical anarchist. Your average person of any identity group is unlikely to be an abolitionist or anarchist... because those are still extremely fringe political positions in this world. Now it is also experience that the majority of actually committed abolitionists are Black & brown people, but that doesn't mean a majority of people from those identity groups in general are abolitionists at all. The white leftie abolitionists...mostly aren't actually abolitionists in practice from all that I've seen. Give them a roommate who doesn't pay the bills and has a mental health episode and they'll wield the tools of the state just as readily as anybody.
And that kinda brings me to one of my questions. Has calling the cops worked for you when you have had to deal with a home invasion, robbery, attack, etc? I just mentioned this in another post, but in my case *threatening* to call the cops has helped sometimes. The existence of the police state as a threat did help keep my stalker from going further when he broke into my apartment. But when a person (especially a person in a non-wealthy, majority-nonwhite area) calls the cops, how often do they show up soon enough to be helpful? How often do they confuse the attacker and the victim? How often do they blame the victim and refuse to file a report? How often do they attack or kill the wrong person? How often does their presence escalate things and cause people to panic, causing more violence?
I'm not trying to be a little shit here, I know that the answer is not "100% of the time". Sometimes, in the present world, a person is overpowered and in danger and they have no support network around them and they call the cops and the sirens or the sight of big dudes with guns scares their attacker away. I have, once or twice, witnessed some version of that too. It didn't do anything to get the victim away from their abuser or prevent harm from happening in the long term, but it did cause people to scatter.
Of course the long term abolitionist answer is that we need community networks of support to keep one another safe, to prevent crimes motivated by need, to deescalate conflict, and maybe even to secure justice and safety by scaring abusers and rapists etc off. In the absence of those things formally existing, I think we should all do what we can to build those networks of support in our communities, and thinking about how we can address problems without using the police. I wrote about some examples of that I witnessed and lived through here:
I don't think there are many great options right now if a person is attacked. I know that I minimize my involvement with the police as much as I humanly can. Again, only you can decide for yourself what you believe, what you can do, what you need, what you think is right.

How would i politely describe body types without being vague?
Characters are as diverse as the writers who write about them, but when it comes to describing them, it can be very easy to default to what we know or to succumb to clichés or stereotypes. This can be especially challenging when describing characters’ bodies. When you need to describe body types, it’s really important to strike a balance between being specific and respectful while avoiding harmful stereotypes or vague descriptions.
Why description matters
Description is essential to really bring a reader into a scene and connect with the characters you’re writing about. Physical descriptions help readers visualise characters, which, in turn, can influence story dynamics. Body descriptions can reveal a lot about a character and even affect the way that other characters interact with them. Like people in real life, the way we look influences both who we are and how we interact with the world.
As a personal example, I am quite short, but I have very long limbs. This gives me the illusion of being tall. Consequently, I am often asked by people taller than me to help them get things down from high shelves because they perceive me as taller than I am. This is a common interaction in my life that has changed the way I dress and carry myself. You probably have similar anecdotes in your own life, which is why building those descriptions into your characters can be such a great way to really make them feel real. How a character looks is not all they are, but it does help create a well-rounded sense of character if we get a feel for how they interact with the world around them.
General guidelines to describe body types
Thoughtful representation matters in modern writing. Descriptions should exist to make your characters feel like people and not like stereotypes. To achieve this, you must:
Focus on relevant details that serve the story — don’t just describe a person’s body because you feel you need to. Everything, even character description should exist to serve the story.
Avoid loaded terms or judgmental language.
Use specific, relevant details rather than general statements for the sake of it.
Consider the character’s own perspective of their body instead of only through the eyes of other characters.
Include dynamic descriptions that show how the character moves and interacts with their environment to give a sense of who they are instead of info-dumping a description.
Common pitfalls to avoid
Don’t make a character’s body type a central part of your narrative if it isn’t plot-relevant.
Don’t rely on stereotypes or clichés.
Avoid using food-related metaphors, as they’re often problematic.
Don’t make assumptions about health or lifestyle based on appearance. Only include this information if it is relvant to the story you’re telling and you’ve researched and fact-checked to ensure its accuracy.
Don’t over-focus on your character’s body as a defining character trait.
Don’t use derogatory or outdated terminology.
Don’t over-describe body type to avoid saying what you mean. Fat and skinny aren’t dirty words. Short and tall don’t have an implicit bias. You can be direct. In fact, it’s often better to be direct in your description than to labour over someone’s body in minute detail.
Effective techniques to incorporate body types in the narrative
Describe clothing and style choices.
Show how the character navigates their environment and how their personality shines through movement.
Consider cultural and historical context.
Include relevant occupational influences on physique or vice versa.
Reference genetic or familial physical traits when relevant.
Include distinctive characteristics or style choices that aren’t related to their body type.
Note how the character’s appearance changes in different situations (i.e., dressed up or casual, at home or at work).
Focus on functional strength and capability outside of their body type.
Consider historical context if writing historical fiction and be aware of changing beauty standards.
Avoid cultural stereotypes and generalisations.
Don’t make a character’s body the centre of their story if it’s not relevant to the plot.
Use precise, specific language – don’t beat around the bush. Say what you mean.
Choose words that match the tone of your story.
Describing body types doesn’t have to be a minefield. Writing a character respectfully doesn’t require any more technical knowledge than simply writing them like a real person. While description is important for reader immersion, it’s also not something you need to focus on in too much detail if it’s not relevant to the plot.
Describe body types in a way that serves your story. Every character’s physical description should contribute to their overall characterisation and your story’s themes, and never distract from it. Physical description is just one aspect of character development, so the most respectful way to describe a character’s body type is to make it a natural part of who they are and not the focus.

Solar Return obs—
hey friends! i hope you enjoy the solar return observations down below, i sincerely appreciate any comment and feedback! 🤍
Tumblr media
SR Moon in the SR 7h in virgo—afraid to trust, open up, and seeks to analyze self and others as a form of protection. The moon sitting here also signifies a connection that feels aligned with your growth and challenges you to face those fears. You can be more inclined to staying alone this year despite the relationship opportunities that arise, and looking at mercuries condition will tell you how your emotions will play out.
Venus 12h SR—The natives relationships feel more private, such as your financial resources, and your sensuality. There’s less of a spotlight, so this year it’s more about going inward and reflecting on how your past lenses have affected you. Whatever was unhealed (especially if Venus sits in a water sign) will come up, so think deep wounds, patterns overlooked in financial and relationship matters.
Mars debilitated in Taurus/detriment in cancer SR—Pay attention here, because your mars ruled houses in this chart will need more time, attention and energy. With mars weakened here substantially, these mars ruled houses can struggle. So let’s take mars in taurus 11h. Long term aspirations require in depth exploration, and patience. This year requires you to slow down and reassess your desires, are they feeding the same belief system enforced onto you (even if it was unhealthy)? Or do they truly cater to your personal growth? There can also be a revulsion around social media this year, a strong need for privacy. These natives can often be seen disappearing or just removing themselves from social media altogether. Friendships especially will be outgrown. If mars conjuncts NN retrograde, this is even more symbolic of a time of going inward, disconnecting and retreating from the social world.
Now the mars houses being observed for example: 4h and 5h are affected, in placidus, and so is the 10h. The natives year regarding family life and exploration of joy is heavily impacted due to authority figures, or a predominant father figure. There can be a sense of overwhelm, a sense of powerlessness under these circumstances, as the native is put into situations to take the lead and navigate partnerships, especially, family. This can be a big time in which the natives struggles with: should I choose myself or them? Especially if Chiron falls in the 10h, along with a weak Jupiter (heavily afflicted, or retrograde)
Jupiter is the protector so when afflicted it can indicate a struggle with finding emotional safety and peace internally, and externally. It can also signify the native feeling pessimistic, hopeless and stuck in their cycles.
SR Leo mercury 2h making an aspect to SR Saturn 8h in Aquarius—very interesting set up as the native is a charismatic, influential and seemingly powerful speaker and motivator. At some point the native is encouraged to communicate deeply and openly to someone or a group/ community of some kind, but feels strained and desolate. Think of it like this, Leo’s energy is warm and rambunctious, and very well the native has a charming presence, and the 8h is heavy, and cold with Saturn’s influence. When it’s time to face the horrors of their past and certain events play out for healing, it feels cold. A certain kind of cold sinking into their bones. Saturn 8h does thrive in growth through time, and consistent dedication and development. This can also mean communication skills will improve regarding boundaries.
Financially, the native can take an interest in the occult and seek to build their revenue through this. But with an opposition, this wont necessarily come easy, because there’s a certain heaviness and restriction felt either from learned conditioning about money, or the “taboo” topics they find themselves looking into. It may not even be motivated by financial means at first, but to liberate themselves from pain. They can also find themselves thinking deeply about the afterlife a lot more, and have a need to figure it out.
7h SR stellium in gemini—Interestingly enough this native was alone a lot through this year, even though we see the 7h as welcoming new connections. I think it’s because of the way the planets sit inside. SR Jupiter doesn’t do well in gemini and already struggles. SR moon tightly conj SR Jupiter, and mars has a weak conjunction to the moon as well. The native struggles to embody themselves in relationships, especially emotionally (sag 1h). It’s easier to flow mentally, and stay as the observer. SR Jupiter conj SR moon indicates powerful influence over emotions and such, when debilitated. There’s a struggle to externalize wisdom, as Jupiter feels full but restrained, so it prefers boxes and rigidity. Theres a tendency for self isolation here and analysis of oneself with gemini, leading to a lack of long term connection with others. The mind is overactive. The ruler of the 7h which is mercury, sits in Leo at 2 degrees, freshly entering the 8h. That energy makes more sense when look at it lol. There’s a need for sacredness from others, and respect for autonomy, and a sort of, “i need to protect myself,” which then translates into: isolation, which creates stagnation, and connections that are flimsy and not rooted. There’s potential, but no substance.
SR Saturn squaring the SR 7h—Well, this makes even more sense. Saturn also retrogrades which fails to provide structure and stability needed to handle the development of the 7h which we see as connections, social interactions, and people. There’s an inability to get around, and people act more as mirrors than supportive relationships. Saturn squares Jupiter and moon here equally, suggesting the native felt they performed better alone. Where does Saturn sit? The 3rd house. What the native wants and sees in their mind is not very well translated into their connections. There seems to be a split, confusion, or fantasy not meeting reality as Saturn retrogrades in pisces.
SR Venus in late gemini degrees (29) about to enter cancer—I love this blend of energy. Its not quite gemini or cancerian, but mixed, suggesting a need for flow emotionally. A need to step back from mental processing and get in touch with emotional processing, especially with that late degree. I love it because it helps the native realize analyzing may be more hurtful right now in their journey. Somatic releases become important too at this time. The native can take on a sensual approach to abundance and money as well, finding that when they surrender and let go, this abundance flows in.

Your heels click rhythmically against the spotless marble hallway, their sound interrupting the tense silence in the building. A pair of grandiose mahogany doors are opened for you, two men stepping aside to let you in. The office that it leads to is lavish, all of the furniture black with little chrome accents. Even the large desk in the center is an inky shade, clearly recently polished.
A pair of equally spotless black shoes are propped up on its surface, mile long legs stretched out as their owner reclines in his chair. The smirk that the man wears is sickening, all too familiar.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in,” the man purrs. “What brings The Beauty of the North into my office?”
“Taesan,” you sigh, pointedly ignoring the nickname. “I need your help.”
You don’t know if it’s the desperation that colors your tone or the obvious frustration painted across your delicate features, but the smirk drops from Taesan’s face. His expression shifts into something more serious, something that could even be mistaken for concern, if you didn’t know the man so well. But this is Han Taesan, for Christ’s sake, the Giant Mountain, known for his harsh and stoic nature. There’s no way he is capable of feeling anything, let alone feeling anything for you.
In an unlawful world full of enemies and allies, it would be fair to say that Taesan is neither. Your territories are separated from each others’ by the Dragons, an established mafia group known for their arms dealings. Although neither you nor Taesan specialize in arms deals, it makes sense that the groups closest in proximity to you would be your biggest threat. After all, territory disputes are common in your world.
And well, the enemy of your enemy is your kinda not really friend, or however the saying goes.
Within a few moments, you are making yourself comfortable in a seat across from Taesan, a steaming mug of tea warming your hands. The man’s expression of concern has completely dropped now, exchanged for the blank stare that he’s known for. Despite the look, you can tell he is still prepared to hear you out, having ordered his men to leave you two in privacy.
“What’s going on?” Taesan asks after a moment of silence. “It must be pretty bad if you’re coming to me for help.”
“Intel says that the Dragons are preparing a territory breach. Apparently they’ve already started preparing to move their sales into my territory.”
Taesan scoffs. “And what does that have to do with me?”
You roll your eyes, unsurprised by Taesan’s standoff-ish attitude. “Because you’re next. My source says that they’ve already planted a mole so that they can take you down from the inside once I’m gone. They’re banking on the fact that both of us deal with their attacks alone. But if we deal with them together…”
“We can save both of our asses in one go.”
Despite the way Taesan nods in clear understanding, a scowl begins to cloud his features. Just as fast as it appears, though, it vanishes, replaced with the signature blank stare.
“How do I know this isn’t a set up?” He questions. “The Dragons and I have been on decent terms for over a year. Why should I believe that they are making their move now?”
You sigh, reaching into your purse to fetch the item that brought you here. You force yourself to ignore the reflexive way Taesan’s hand twitches at the sudden movement, no doubt ready to grab one of the weapons he undoubtedly has stored in his desk. What you’re looking for is hard to miss, and you drop it on the unblemished desk with a loud thud.
The red brick isn’t particularly large, just sturdy enough to do some minor damage. A piece of white paper remains taped to its rough surface. Across it, bolded words are scribbled.
THOSE WHO DO NOT FALL IN LINE WILL PERISH!
The only indicator of the sender of the message is a small stamp of a dragon’s face at the bottom of the paper.
“This shattered the window of one of my shops at around 4am today.”
Taesan hums softly, picking the brick up to inspect it. He lets his eyes linger on its inked surface before nodding to himself. When done, he tosses it back onto the table, not once flinching at the sound it makes.
“So, will you help me?” You hope your words don’t sound as desperate as you feel.
Taesan blinks at you once, twice, before sighing. “Fuck it, I’m in. Where do we start?”
You can’t help the small smile that blooms on your face, pleasantly surprised by Taesan’s willingness.
“First, we find the mole.”
.          .         .
Han Taesan’s main office, or the Mountain Top as it’s better known, is just as flashy as Taesan himself is. Sleek black furniture and equally ebony walls are decorated with hints of chrome, their reflections shining in the perfectly polished marble floors. It’s tasteful, almost. Well, it’s as tasteful as any space run by a man in his twenties could be. But you imagine that it’s much easier when your empire is passed down to you by a filthy rich grandfather and not fought for tooth and nail like the one you yourself have built.
There’s a difference in respect, you’d assume, between a leader who fought for their empire and a leader who was given it. But Taesan’s men don’t seem to show any lack in their appreciation for him. They bow a full ninety degrees as the man treks through the hallways, mile long legs moving gracefully in perfectly tailored dress pants. He commands a degree of authority without ever having to open his mouth. That silent reverence is probably what is saving you from a slew of unsavory comments from his underlings.
Men in the business are never shy about treating pretty people like they are nothing more than just that. You’re used to people outside of your organization seeing you as nothing but a literal and metaphorical breeding ground for promiscuity. It took years of decapitating people for them to realize that your power extends to much more beyond your looks.
The thought makes you sway your hips a little bit more than usual as you follow Taesan down an immaculate hallway. He leads you to a small set of doors, not bothering to knock before he simply barges in. The room hosts a slew of monitors and keyboards, all seemingly monitored by one person who sits at a central desk.
The kid is clearly young, boyish features and a dark brown bed head giving him away. A pair of headphones fit snug over his ears, making it so that the boy hasn’t acknowledged either of his guests. Taesan just chuckles fondly before reaching over and snatching them off. His laughter only grows as the boy scrambles to his feet, falling over himself to bow deeply.
“Sir, please excuse the disrespect,” he blubbers. “I was just watching back the tapes of yesterday’s deal and I got too into the details and—,”
Taesan claps a hand over the boy’s shoulder, smiling softly. You try not to stare at the handsome way his features contort in obvious fondness. It’s amazing to see Han Taesan be anything other than his stoic self. You would be lying if you said that he didn’t look undeniably attractive.
“It’s okay, Woonhak. Seriously, straighten up.”
The boy does as told, embarrassment still coloring his cheeks. You struggle not to coo at the plush redness of his cheeks, further emphasizing his youth.
“I came because I need your help with something. We need help with something. This is Y/N…,”
“The Beauty of the North,” Woonhak breathes, clearly in awe. “It’s an honor to meet you.”
This time, you don’t bother to hide your smile. “You as well, Woonhak.”
“What can I help you with?”
Taesan clears his throat, back to his stoic nature. “I need you to pull all phone records and text conversations for all of our men and scan them for any mention of the Dragons.”
“All of them?” Woonhak scoffs in disbelief. “But that’s over fifty men.”
“I know. But it’s really important, and time sensitive, too.”
You nod in agreement. “We’d like to have them by tonight, if we can.”
Taesan folds his arms over his chest, making his suit jacket shift across the broadness of his shoulders. You struggle to look away from the tightening fabric, hating the warmth that rises to your cheeks at the sight. Now is not the time.
Woonhak seems to mull over the timeframe before responding. “I mean it would take all day and I would have to get to work right now, but I think I can do it!”
“Perfect,” Taesan sighs. “I’ll get Sungho to cover the rest of your workload for today. And Woonhak?”
The boy in question cocks his head, not unlike an intrigued puppy.
“This stays between us, okay?”
The boy nods eagerly, miming zipping his lips closed before smiling. You can’t help the tiny laugh that bubbles in your throat at the over exaggerated action. Taesan seems amused too, if his hint of a smile is anything to go by. It’s only when the two of you exit the room once again that his smile drops.
“Are you sure we can trust him?” You ask, nerves beginning to tickle at the base of your stomach.
Taesan sighs. “Honestly, he’s the only one that I can say for sure that I trust. If he were the mole, my whole organization would be going down in flames.”
“Let’s hope that it’s not him, then.”
“Yeah,” Taesan mumbles, shaking his head. “Let’s.”
The tense aura that had once overcome the space begins to dissipate as Taesan straightens up, casually fixing his tie before beginning to head back down the long hallway from which you came. He clearly makes no move to check if you’re following behind, but something tells you that he’s listening to the measured clack of your heels against the marble floors. The tilt of his head is subtle, but it’s a dead giveaway that he’s listening; Han Taesan actually gives a shit about whether or not you’re following him.
You only make it a few paces before Taesan stops short. He freezes so abruptly that you run straight into him, yet the force doesn’t sway him one bit. He’s silent for a moment, two, until a short yell echoes in the otherwise silent hallway. Silence quickly returns, then fades once again when it is pierced by a sound you know all too well—a gunshot.
Taesan is quick to spring into action when a bullet whizzes past the both of you, luckily missing and lodging itself into an adjacent wall. He turns quickly, wrapping an arm around your waist before pulling you tight against him. He ushers the two of you behind a large pillar that divides the massive hallway in two. You remain tucked against the man’s chest, his crisp suit jacket wrinkled where you’re holding on for dear life.
It’s not like any of this is new to you. In your business, shootouts and confrontations are just about an everyday affair. But it’s different when it’s on enemy turf. It’s different when you are miles away from your own headquarters and your own men. For all you know, Taesan could use you as a human shield while he escapes! But something about the way his large hand spans your waist, keeping you tucked to his chest, proves otherwise.
“Are you okay?” He whispers, breath warm as it fans your face in the close proximity.
“Yeah, you?”
The man just hums in response, the simple vibration making a home in your own chest where it’s pressed to his. It brings you an odd sense of calm despite the calamity around you, another set of shots going off. They whiz past the pillar the two of you are tucked behind.
Taesan reaches into his suit jacket and pulls out a pistol, clicking the safety off and cocking it immediately. His other hand still remains firmly on your waist, not once faltering where he keeps you tucked close. He’s quick to lean over you, arm outstretched, only taking a quick peek around the pillar before firing off three shots. You can feel the recoil in your veins, the simple pop pop pop nestling deep into your flesh. No matter how long you’ve been in this world, the sound of guns firing at close range will never not startle you.
There’s a loud thud that fills the office space, followed by a prolonged period of silence. Taesan’s breath is shaky but controlled, clearly preparing to fire off more shots if needed. But as some more time passes, it’s clear that the shooter is down. Taesan, however, doesn’t move, still peering down his nose at you. You hate the way that his gaze ignites something deep in your core. Silently, you pray that he can’t feel the heavy thump of your heart against your ribs, or that he at least just passes it off as adrenaline.
“I think I got him,” Taesan whispers. “Stay here, I’ll go ch—,”
“MR. HAN?? Sir, where are you?!” A voice exclaims from down the hallway.
Taesan visibly exhales at the sound of the voice, finally taking a step away from you and ducks around the pillar. You loathe the way his absence leaves you cold.
“What the fuck was that?” Taesan exclaims. “Sanghyuk, please tell me that wasn’t one of our own.”
You take that as your cue that it’s safe to come out, steps shaky as you leave your hiding spot. The war zone that you step into almost makes you collapse. There’s a series of bullet holes lodged into various walls and some desks. A few bodies lay unmoving further down the hallway, all dressed in black suits similar to Taesan’s. But the man in charge is stationed on the other end of the hallway, bent over a limp body with a few of his other men. A sea of crimson slowly expands below their feet, matching the color splattered along the wall. If you looked close enough, you’re sure you would be able to see some brain matter stuck to the sleek white walls.
Taesan is merciless as he lifts the body’s head by pulling on a fistful of hair. He takes one look at the face and scoffs before letting the face fall back to the floor. It makes a wet smack when it hits the floor, sending another splatter of blood up to Taesan’s ankles. The man doesn’t even flinch, brows pinching in anger as he rights himself. He crosses his arms against his chest, letting out a bitter chuckle.
“Fucking Minjoong!” He exclaims. “I should’ve known to not let in that slimy fuck.”
You swallow thickly. “Who was he?”
The man next to Taesan responds, running a hand through his dyed red hair. “A fairly new recruit. He cornered us coming back from a deal and begged to be let in. But it’s clear now that he was a mole.”
The final word has you looking to Taesan, searching his features for any sign of relief. But it doesn’t come. Instead he just motions at the bodies strewn across the office, sighing loudly.
“Clean this up,” he orders. “I’m taking Y/N home. Everyone is dismissed for the day.”
The man next to him splutters. “But sir, it’s only—,”
“I don’t give a shit. We’re done here.”
.         .         .
A few days pass before you hear from Taesan again. It’s filled with much of the same mundane work that you always do. Your underlings make runs for you, support your fronts, and send you reports, just to wake up and do it all again the next day. The monotony gives you a dangerous amount of time to think. And every time you’re supposed to be thinking about the Dragons and their next move, your mind wanders to broad shoulders in black suits and large hands steadying your waist.
You’re caught up in your familiar daydream when the text from Taesan comes in. You try your best to ignore the flutter in your core as his name pops up on your phone screen.
Minjoong isn’t the only one. I’ll meet you at your HQ in 15.
It’s exactly fourteen minutes later when one of your men is knocking on the door of your office. He has Taesan in tow as he steps into the large space, greeting you with a small bow.
“The Giant Mountain is here to see you.”
You smile, trying your best not to let your gaze flicker over Taesan’s figure where he stands. “Thanks, Donghyun. I’ll call you if I need you.”
The man sends another small bow before he leaves, closing the door behind him with a soft click. It leaves you and Taesan in an uncomfortable silence, tension inexplicably high. For a moment, you swear Taesan eyes the curve of your chest before meeting your gaze. But you’re sure it must just be a figment of your imagination.
“So,” you begin, folding your manicured hands underneath your chin. “What did you find out?”
Taesan smirks before sitting down across the desk. He’s surprisingly relaxed for being on supposed enemy turf, legs stretched out as he sinks into his seat.
“There’s four.”
You cock your head, confused by the simple statement. “Four of what?”
“Four filthy fuckin’ moles in my org. All of them were stupid enough to text evidence back and forth to each other.”
“So you know their plan?”
Taesan sighs. “Not quite. Only bits and pieces were explained in the texts, but it’s enough to prove that Minjoong’s little attack from the other day was intended to cause chaos.”
“Not to kill you?”
The cocky smile you’ve gotten used to Taesan wearing crosses his countenance. “Not yet.”
There’s something in the gleam in Taesan’s eye that fills you with both terror and excitement. In a world like your own, organization leaders have to be predators, ready to pounce on anything that crosses their path. Even though you aren’t his intended target, it’s impossible not to feel like prey as his dark gaze bores into yours. Even as his expression drops into his calculated stoicism, you can feel your heart pounding against the cage of your ribs, just waiting to be exposed and devoured.
“I’ll have some of my men do some…gathering of information out of the three remaining moles and see if we can get anything about the Dragons’ plan for you,” Taesan says with a slow nod.
“Thank you,” the words lift a weight off your chest as they are spoken aloud. “Seriously.”
Taesan just shrugs. “We’re allies now. It’s the least I can do.”
The “least he can do” turns out to be exactly what you expected. The picture comes to your phone late at night, and you gasp when you see the carnage it contains. Blood is splattered across a large black tarp, speckled in some spots while it creates crimson lagoons in others. If you look closely, you can spot some teeth strewn across the carpet, shining like stars in the night sky. In the foreground, there’s a table laid out with various instruments, pliers, bone saws, and hammers, along with two detached fingers, dripping a sea of red onto the table. The text it accompanies is simple:
Got what we needed. My HQ, tomorrow at 10.
Despite the nausea that lingers in your stomach from the picture, you find yourself in Taesan’s office at approximately 10:01 am the next morning. The man has forgone his suit jacket this time, his crisp white shirt rolled up to expose the tattooed skin of his forearms. There’s something about him that seems a little disheveled, erratic, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. It isn’t until you see three crushed energy drink cans by the trash can that the pieces come together.
“Great, you’re here!” Taesan greets. “So those fuckers put up a fight, but eventually we got somewhere. It turns out that the four of them joined my org to—,”
“Taesan,” you interrupt, trying not to coo at the confused look you are given in response. “When’s the last time you slept?”
Taesan sputters for a moment, ruffling his already disheveled hair. “Like two days ago. But that’s not important! We have so much to do. We’re finally getting somewhere.”
“Taesan, you need to sleep. Do you have a place you can sleep here?”
“The penthouse,” Taesan responds, voice small like a scolded child.
“Then let’s go. You need to get some rest.”
It takes a bit more back and forth and jerky movements of the body to convince Taesan to take a well deserved break. The elevator ride up to the penthouse is short enough that Taesan doesn’t have the chance to change his mind. When you step into the apartment, you notice how different the space is from any of Taesan’s offices, yet threads of the man’s style are still there.
Floor to ceiling windows allow for plenty of light to fill the space, despite the overcast skies. Most of his furniture is in various shades of gray and black, matching the sky. The floors are sleek as you step in, clearly recently mopped and polished to the point where your reflection stares back at you when you glance down. The pristine floors are just one of the many things about this apartment that shows that it is untouched, uninhabited, and that Taesan really hasn’t slept.
“I’m going to go,” you say softly, watching as Taesan loosens his tie with a sigh. “Get some sleep.”
Before you can cross back through the threshold, a chilled hand grips your wrist, pulling you back softly. Taesan’s eyes are bright when they meet yours, his gaze pleading.
“Do you mind staying? Just for a bit. I want to tell you what I found out before you go.”
The slight waver of his eyebrows makes you wonder when you went from the stoicism of the Giant Mountain to the open expressions of Han Taesan. The man known for his ruthlessness and icy exterior has seemingly melted into a pool of warmth. He isn’t demanding anything from you, like the way he does with his underlings. Instead he is asking, feline eyes widening so that he looks as if he’s begging.
“Fine,” you sigh, your resolve crumbling as warmth pools in your core. “Just for a bit though.”
You should have known that Taesan’s information would take longer than “just a bit.” He’s overly animated as he goes through what he found out from each of the moles, not sparing any of the gory details as he spells out their torture. In the end, all of Taesan’s ramblings lead to one central point. The Dragons are after what everyone else in the world is after—money.
“His attacks on your side are much simpler. He wants to do business with th—,” Taesan cuts himself off with a yawn, nose scrunching not unlike a disgruntled cat.
“I really think you should get some sleep, Taesan.”
As you move to gather your belongings, a soft voice calls out to you, thick with the beginnings of sleep. “Is that your secret?”
“My secret to what?”
“You know,” Taesan yawns again. “Your nickname. You looking like that. You get plenty of beauty rest, don’t you, sweetheart?”
A snort escapes you before you can catch it, caught off guard by Taesan’s candid questions. “Yes, Taesan. I get plenty of beauty rest. You should too.”
You watch as the man shoots you a small smile before his eyes drift shut, fully succumbing to sleep. The sight of Taesan curled up on the couch, chest rising and falling evenly, has the tendrils of anger slowly traversing your veins. It’s not anger at the mellow expression of the sleeping man before you, but rather at the reason you are in this situation in the first place.
The Dragons are seeking to destroy lives just for their own selfish gain. All they want is more territory, more arms sales, more men, more, more, more. Their greed knows no end. The thought of all they have destroyed and what they could destroy has you steaming, anger boiling in your gut threatening to boil over.
The Dragons have plans to take Taesan’s life, and you simply can’t let that happen.
It’s there, watching Taesan’s unconscious form that you realize that you have to be ruthless in your fight against the Dragons. You have to be swift and venomous, striking like a serpent. With the unwavering stability of Taesan’s men behind you, there’s no doubt that you can be successful. You just have to be willing to die for it.
.        .        .
Sub Zero is always packed on a Saturday night. It’s one of Taesan’s well known clubs, a perfect front for pushing the more illicit activities that his empire is known for. It’s the only place in the city where someone could buy drugs and do them right then and there, making it a popular destination. With its flashing lights and swanky cocktails, anyone could mistake it as a normal club. But the way the bass rumbles in your chest reminds you that this is anything but.
Only two of your men flank your sides as you squeeze your way through club goers and partiers. It’s clear that some of them are out of it, too deep into their high to notice the world around them. They move as an amorphous crowd, a blob of bodies that bob and weave to the beat. It makes it harder to reach your destination, but finally you arrive at a roped off section in the back right corner of the club.
A burly man dressed in a sleek black suit guards the section, eyes concealed as he gazes out at the crowd. Even though you can’t see his eyes, you can tell he’s looking right at you. All it takes is a slight cock of your head before the man is stepping aside, unlatching the black velvet rope to allow you in. You just shoot the man a smile as you climb the few steps to the elevated section, eyes immediately locked on the man who invited you in.
Taesan looks delectable tonight. He’s not in his normal suit, the way most of his men are. Instead, he dons a leather jacket over what appears to be a black tank top. His black jeans are loose where they fit across his spread legs, the man leaning back lazily. He takes a slow sip of his drink, some type of dark liquor, only greeting you with a quirk of an eyebrow.
“You came,” he smirks as you get closer. “Didn’t think this would be the crowd for the Beauty of the North.”
You roll your eyes as you sit next to him, your little black dress straining across the width of your hips. The outfit is clearly to Taesan’s satisfaction, if the way his eyes sweep over your figure is anything to go by. His eyes linger on the fullness of your chest, the dip in your waist, and the curve of your hips.
“See something you like?” You tease.
“Oh,” Taesan smirks. “You have no idea, sweetheart.”
A molten feeling blooms in your gut at Taesan’s words, forcing you to struggle to hide heated cheeks. But the man doesn’t break eye contact. For as stoic as he is when he’s sober, he’s a pretty loose drunk. His confidence is palpable as he drinks; You hate that you find it as undeniably sexy as you do.
“Did you invite me to talk business or to flirt?”
Taesan takes a slow sip of his liquor, leaning closer to you. “And what if I wanted to do both?”
At this point, he’s close enough that you can smell the liquor on his breath—whiskey. If it were anyone else, you would hate the smell. But it’s Taesan, and you find your mouth watering, desiring to drink its essence straight from his mouth. You wonder if his lips would be as soft as they look, if his perfect teeth would nibble on your lips just so.
You clear your throat in an attempt to break the haze of your daydream.
“What did you need to tell me?” You press, voice vibrating your chest along with the bass of the song blasting through the club speakers.
Taesan leans even closer, letting his lips brush the soft shell of your ear.
“I know how to take them out,” he whispers. “I just need you to trust me. Can you do that, sweetheart?”
Your breath hitches in your throat, mouth suddenly dry at the deep drawl of Taesan’s voice in your ear. It’s intoxicating, his confidence, the way he speaks, the soft brush of his lips against your skin. It’s enough to have you clenching your thighs together, ashamed at how easily the man gets you going.
“What am I going to need to do?”
Taesan pulls away only slightly, clearly disappointed by your response. A large hand comes underneath your chin, nudging your face so that you’re forced to lock eyes with him. It only lasts for a moment, Taesan’s gaze flickering down to your lips before meeting your eyes once again. A pink tongue darts out to wet his bottom lip, and you find yourself tracking the motion with your gaze.
“Can you do that?” Taesan repeats firmly. “Do you trust me, baby?”
You don’t know if it’s the deep rasp of his voice or the fire in his gaze, but something about his demeanor tells you that this is real for him and not just the alcohol talking. Taesan knows that this is life or death for both of you. If you’re in this, you have to be in it for real.
So you take a shaky breath, nodding slowly.
“I trust you, Taesan.”
The man smirks, leaning in to place a chaste kiss on your cheek.
“Good,” he whispers, dropping your face. “Just know that I got you. We’re taking the Dragons down…together.”
.         .         .
The serpent strikes on a Sunday.
Taesan came up with the code phrase, his signal to let you know that the plan was in motion. It was the signal for you to come into the scene and do what you do best: be the Beauty of the North.
Your men come in silently, slowly infiltrating the Dragon’s Den by taking his underlings out one by one. You’ve always been a big fan of silence, favoring knives to guns. It allows each of your men the element of surprise, a simple flick of the wrist opening up each member’s throat and exposing their blood to the world. They fall within seconds.
It almost seems too easy to make your way through the building, only flanked by two of your men, the only two with firearms. Donghyun’s pistol is decorated with a silencer, the accessory allowing you to keep your element of surprise as he takes out three Dragons stationed near their leader’s office. The opening is clear as the rest of your men continue to take out the lower level Dragons, leaving only one man left to deal with.
Jaehyun counts you and Donghyun down before kicking the door open, both of their guns ready to fire. However, you’re not expecting to be met with at least five men, one of which wearing a calm expression that you know all too well. At least half of the men are somewhat familiar to you, their black suits all to similar to their leader’s, who greets you with a blank stare. It stuns you into place, the two men next to you equally as shocked.
“Taesan?”
“And here I was thinking that the fucker was lying,” Kim Jaeyoon, head of the Dragons, snarls. “The Beauty of the North really came to fucking kill me.”
You can’t even bother to address the man, too busy searching the familiar feline gaze that remains trained on you down the barrel of a gun. Your heart has fallen to your feet, a constricting feeling squeezing your throat into knots. You don’t even dare to breathe, too stunned by the thought of one wrong move ending in your death at the hands of your ally.
Jaeyoon lets out a wicked chuckle, seemingly amused by your stunned state. “It’s over. If you surrender now, I’ll let your men join me instead of killing them. I just might let you be my pretty armpiece, too.”
The man rounds his desk, stooping a few paces from you. Taesan moves with him, consistently protecting the man’s flank. You still can’t manage to look away from him, hurt and betrayal leaving a sour taste in your mouth.
“You made me a lucky man, Taesan,” Jaeyoon chuckles. “Who would have thought that you would really deliver me such a pretty thing on a silver platter?”
You flinch away before Jaeyoon can stroke his knuckles against the fullness of your cheekbone. From somewhere behind you, you can hear Jaehyun and Donghyun struggling, no doubt having been restrained the minute you all entered the office. You admire their desire to protect you, even now, when everything is so clearly coming to an end.
“Don’t play hard to get now. I offered you a generous deal, Y/N,” Jaeyoon cooes, breath rancid where it fans your face.
Despite your disgust at the man before you, your attention never leaves the figure to his left. Taesan looks stoic as always, almost bored at the interaction in front of him. His nonchalance has anger bubbling in your core, heating your face.
“Taesan, why?”
The man just blinks back, face unmoving. “Well, the serpent strikes on a Sunday.”
An almost simultaneous cacophony of shots ring out, threatening to burst your eardrums and forcing you to recoil. Something warm and wet splatters across the room, dirtying the otherwise untainted surface of your dress. You’re sure that this is it, that you have finally met your end. But when you don’t feel any sources of searing pain, you dare to open your eyes.
Taesan’s chest is heaving where he stands over Kim Jaeyoon’s limp body, gun still smoking in his hands. A few of the other unrecognizable men have met a similar fate as their boss, bodies strewn across the luxurious office space. Slowly, Taesan lowers his gun, eyes finally meeting yours.
“God, I always fucking hated him.”
An arm snakes its way around your waist, pulling your stunned figure into a firm chest. You wonder if Taesan can feel the roaring of your heart where it’s pressed against his, not sure if it’s pounding out of anger or pure fear.
“Are you okay?” Taesan whispers.
You let out a shaky breath, reveling in the man’s warmth for a moment. But when you regain your composure, you pull away abruptly, landing a harsh blow to Taesan’s arm.
“Fuck you,” you exclaim. “You scared me, you fuck!”
Taesan hisses as he rubs the sore spot. “What was that for? I just saved your life!”
“I thought you ratted me out!”
Taesan just rolls his eyes, wasting no time in pulling you back into him. This time, he engulfs you in a proper hug, arms tightening around you and tucking you under his chin. You’re powerless to do anything but hug back.
“I told you that you had to trust me, sweetheart.”
“I did…I still do! It’s just…” you sigh. “Don’t do that again!”
Taesan’s chuckle is little more than just a rumble of his chest underneath your head. “Let’s hope I don’t have to.”
.         .         .
The second time you end up in Taesan’s apartment is unlike the first one. Instead of a sleepy Taesan rambling about his latest torturing, he’s very much awake, mouth too occupied with meeting yours to do any talking.
Taesan’s mouth is insistent against yours, kissing you deeper, harder, with each press of his lips. It’s far from his usual stoic demeanor, the way his kisses turn demanding and sloppy within seconds. His wandering hands prove to be equally as demanding as they sweep the expanse of your body, squeezing your ass underneath the tight fabric of your dress.
You aren’t fairing much better, your own fingers tangling in the man’s inky locks. The nibble of teeth against your bottom lip has you arching even further into Taesan’s hold, a soft whimper leaving your lips. It’s too much and not nearly enough all at the same time. You crave to feel the shift of Taesan’s muscles underneath his skin, his hands as they explore you, his mouth as he follows his fingers’ path.
You’re so consumed that you barely realize that Taesan has pulled away, blindly chasing his lips before you blink your eyes open. Instead of a greasy smirk, Taesan’s mouth is slightly parted, chest heaving where it remains pressed to yours. He slides a hand up to cup your jaw, thumb beginning to trace across your bottom lip.
“Do you trust me, baby?” He whispers.
His irises are dark, pupils almost completely eclipsing the small rings of color. Gone is the stoic Taesan that you’re used to. This Taesan feels. And so do you.
“I trust you, Taesan.”

about Mob’s eyebeams (3:47)
Maybe I just think I see tokusatsu references everywhere, but I think there’s an Easter egg of sorts in episode 1. After Mob comes back to himself and celebrates having escaped L’ing a B, he runs through a field beside the airport and some sort of laser beams shoot out of his eyes. The beams are two different colors: red and blue. I suspect this is a reference to Kamen Rider Build, in which Inukai Atsuhiro played the lead rider (also called Kamen Rider Build). Build had a number of forms (different suits, basically) that had different colors and features. The one he’s best known for (the one that comes up at the top of your results if you google “Kamen Rider Build,” among other things) is his “RabbitTank” form, which is half blue and half red, with one blue eye and one red one.

Kamen Rider Build in RabbitTank form
It’s particularly appropriate for them to reference Build in this show since Inukai’s character on that show, Kiryu Sento, had a pretty ship-y relationship with Banjou Ryuga, a character played by Akaso Eiji from Cherry Magic. At the time, the phrase “a heated relationship between men” was used to describe how they related to each other, and Kamen Rider fans have referenced it ever since when things between two Kamen Rider dudes seem “heated.” The fact that both actors went on to be BL legends is very fitting. And it makes this reference even more appropriate for Zettai BL.–Towel

about “pretending to be possessive” (07:08)
Mob actually says that Ayato is pretending to have a “brother complex,” sometimes abbreviated (as Mob does here) as “brocon.” While this concept is somewhat Western due to its roots in psychoanalysis, it has a specific meaning in Japanese culture that you don't find elsewhere. It describes an obsessive attachment to one’s brother that may include possessiveness and jealousy toward the brother’s romantic partners. Brother complexes are classically associated with sisters, but it’s no surprise that a brother might be expected to have a brother complex in BL World.
To be clear, though, Mob doesn’t believe that Ayato actually has a brother complex. He thinks he’s pretending to have one so that he’ll have an excuse to act out his actual possessive feelings about Toujou, brought on by Toujou touching Mob.
Instead of assuming all viewers would be familiar with the idea of the “brother complex,” we decided to describe what Mob is saying in terms of Ayato’s pretending to be possessive. But knowing the specific reference Mob was making here should help to get a more nuanced sense of the meaning of this line.–Towel
It's also relevant to say that in spoken Japanese almost anything can become a "con". Such as brocon, siscon, lolicon, etc.–Snow
about “fair prince” (6:18)
Snow explained to me that Toujou was described here using a word that's associated with classical and poetic Japanese. Historically, it was used to refer to lords and ladies, and it's particularly common in classical Japanese literature. In modern media, it's often used in period dramas and may be used in contemporary settings to describe the person being referred to as admirable in some way. Since it has multiple meanings with specific connotations and various points of reference in Japanese culture, there was no direct equivalent of this in English. Translating it literally word-for-word wouldn't get the point across at all.
I tried to think about what an equivalent type of literature would be in an English-speaking context and what sorts of words or phrases would bring those things to mind. I tried to see if I could get one or two Early Modern English words in there (the kind of English Shakespeare spoke). I also looked for a link to Toujou’s rose motif by checking some famous rose-related quotes from older literary periods. But neither of those methods yielded anything that fit.
Then I started to think about fairy tales, which gave me the idea of calling him a “prince.” I added “fair,” not for any reason related to his coloring (though it’s somewhat appropriate given his blondness) but because it made the description sound a lot more antiquated and fairy tale-ish. Later in the episode, when a similar description was applied to Toujou in his vampire costume, it made perfect sense to make him a “dark prince” instead.–Towel

I still haven’t emotionally processed episode four and I probably never will but if you’re interested in my chaotic ramblings pls step into my office below
first of all frank waited ten fucking years to get his lick back he is the pettiest bitch alive and I am here for it
he said bitch I didn’t forget when you said “boo hoo who’d you lose” reverse uno altar boy
“how bout old foggy, he get life?”
FRANCIS DAVID CASTIGLIONE HOW DARE YOU
also the fucking hand clapping while saying I don’t have time for your candy ass hero shit he’s so fucking sassy pls
the juxtaposition between wanting to cream seeing our boys back together onscreen but also wanting to scream bc that whole interaction was so raw and brutal and wrecked me and not in the slutty way like I wanted
I wanna talk about how matt either knew where frank was this entire time or he knows frank’s heartbeat and scent and tracked him there which is stupid romantic
I don’t wanna talk about how frank didn’t even raise his hands to defend himself and would’ve let matt keep hitting him
I don’t want to talk about matt’s whole monologue about foggy bc I will never emotionally recover from that
I do want to talk about how 3 different people kept emphasizing to matt that the system is broken and does not work that was definitely not a coincidence
I do want to talk about matt being a slut and flirting to reduce a prison sentence
also the end?? adam screaming “let me out” while matt is on the roof with his billy club after trying to not let the devil out for 4 episodes??? the fucking parallels my GOD
each fucking episode just keeps getting better and better
honorable mention fisk nearly crashing out having to sit though 2 choir performances had me HOLLERING
I also want to do a lil check in since we only have five episodes left of this half of this season-
Tumblr media
I have seen a lot of people say this matt feels “out of character” and I think that’s the point. it’s supposed to be uncomfortable. there’s a lot of underlying tension in this season, it feels like something is building and we’re all waiting for the eruption. this is not the matt we saw in the original series. we will probably never get that matt back. this is season 3 matt but like times ten. he said he would rather die as the devil than live as matt murdock and he definitely “died” the night foggy was killed, in his daredevil suit on that roof. he also pushed dex off the roof, and although dex didn’t die so it wasn’t murder, matt still attempted to kill him, which still counts as crossing a line in his own head
matt is not living, he’s existing. he is a hollow shell of who he used to be. he lost everything that made him who he was
foggy, his best friend and moral compass. karen, his other best friend and voice of reason. he lost the two people who were essentially the only family he had left in the world. he lost his home, he told fisk he doesn’t go back to hell’s kitchen and doesn’t live there anymore. he lost his faith, he’s not going to church anymore. and he lost daredevil, his outlet to let his darker half out that made him feel like he was making a difference. this man is lost
the term “born again” is usually used to describe a religious transformation. I don’t think calling the show born again was just about matt returning as daredevil. I think it’s us seeing matt at his absolute lowest, hitting rock bottom, losing every sense of who he is, and then watching him rise from the ashes
I truly thought hector being murdered was gonna make matt lose his shit but now I’m very curious what’s going to make him actually snap and put the suit back on. I think the main reason he's fighting it so hard is to honor foggy's memory. foggy's last words to him were "I didn't want to give you a reason". foggy always wanted matt to put his faith in the system and do things the "right" way and matt is trying to do that but he's clearly struggling, because he has no faith in anything anymore
I have a lot of ideas about what I think is going to happen this season but I’d love to hear what y’all think so feel free to ramble with me or just scream or cry we can do that too
