do yall ever think about bruce/batman!clone danny standing in front of his bathroom mirror after finding out he was a clone and silently tracing his face. The slope of his jaw and point of his chin. The high angle of his cheekbones and the shape of his eyes, the curve of his brow bones and the shape of his nose. The volume of his hair and the way it curls and gets fluffy when it gets too long.

His hair is black the same way a crow's wing is black. His dad's hair is black the same way a black bear's fur is black. His dad's eyes are blue like the ocean is blue. Danny's eyes are blue the same way a glacier is blue.

His dad has a square jaw and straight flat hair, and he tans and gets a face full of freckles when he's out in the sun for too long. Danny burns like a lobster and his face remains untouched. Danny has a sharp jaw and tall cheekbones, and Sam says when he's not smiling there's almost something regal about him. You would never call Jack Fenton "regal" when he's not smiling.

Sam says when he's not smiling he looks scary the same way a stone statue is. Jack Fenton when he's not smiling looks scary the same way that german shepherd staring at you across the street is.

Do you ever think he grew up wondering if he was adopted. Because of course, he has black hair and blue eyes like his dad. But having the same color doesn't make you someone's child.

Or, worse, things he's heard from the other kids and the other parents and even some of his teachers growing up; that he was the product of an affair. And that his dad was just too stupid to notice. And Danny would defend his parents until the day he died, because Jack Fenton wasn't an idiot and Maddie Fenton wasn't a cheater.

But doubt comes in with fickle tongue. his parents swear up and down that he is their child when he asks about either. That Danny just had his grandparents' features, but he was their son and they loved him.

But Danny doesn't look like either of his parents. His mom's eyes are blue like an aquamarine and Jazz's too. And they burn like lobsters in the sun too, but Jazz gets freckles on her face and so does Maddie. And as Danny grows up he doesn't bulk up or get stocky like his dad did, and when he hits puberty he doesn't shoot up like a tree like Jack Fenton did.

He stays small, and they say he's a late bloomer (and he is), or that he just has his mom's height. But he's fast and has good stamina, and some days it feels like he's built entirely different from his family. That the things they went through growing up just didn't apply to him. Jack and Maddie Fenton both had acne and breakouts when they hit puberty, and Jazz inherits it and he's seen the amount of skincare products she keeps on her side of the bathroom.

And then he hits puberty and breaks out maybe once or twice, but his skin stays clear for the most part and the problems and changes his dad went through just don't happen to him.

And the truth is worse than all of the lies.

it's so interesting talking to and around my father, because personality-wise we are extremely similar (so much so that sometimes I'll say things, then my mother will go quiet and respond...you know, you sounded just like your father) but I grew up as a woman, and he grew up as a man, and that does that make an appreciable difference.

just for fun this time during 'sea of blood' I counted out all the venatori corpses I think we can be pretty sure were lucanis' handiwork before we show up (not including the ones he kills in his initial cutscene, and with an assumption that he's been at work mainly up and down in the areas we move through until we find him, not behind the locked door -- I think that's mostly the work of rampaging undead and other venatori-hoisted-by-their-own-petard suchlikes). can thus happily inform you lucanis has killed at least 32 venatori before rook and company get there. at least one of them he's impaled on their own weird crystal spike things the venatori mages cast as an AOE attack and that they're trying to keep him contained with when we find him. so he's clearly been keeping busy lol. that's my boy dispensing poetic justice and claiming some enrichment in his enclosure while he's at it good for him!

im thinking about celestia and the abyss being literal opposites (chaos and order) and im thinking about childe and lumine being sort of embodiments of that, just not in the way we think. after the latest natlan quest its clear to us what the fatui intends and what they want- i think the tsaritsa more than anything loves humanity, which is why she directly opposes celestia who are known for bringing down different civilizations. childe, as Her weapon and Her blade is an extenction of that: he's a blade forged by the abyss, bathed in Her holyness, meant to strike down those who sin. lumine (talking solely about traveler lumine) is the literal sister of the prince of the abyss, she has clear ties to it and at this point in the story still is hesitant about fully opposing him (i love angst). her entire story revolves around chaose and disrupting celestia's (and the fatui's) order. isnt that fun

i think what childe longs for the most is control- control of himself, his life, his powers, his story, his fate. i think what lumine wants the most is freedom, which is just another phacet of chaos

anyways. you see it. the themes are theming

imo karlach’s soul coin usage seems like it should have been a little more significant than it was.

she only ever really stops to consider the magnitude of burning through a person’s soul for power during an origin playthrough—otherwise she rationalizes to the player that they’re doomed anyway, and if using them gives her an edge in combat, why not use them for good instead of leaving them to be used by evil? the dialogue with lann tarv in act 2, where he tells the story of each soul he's handing over to her, tries to humanize each soul coin, and still she doesn’t really budge and disapproves pretty heavily if she's told no in regards to using them.

it just seems like something that could have caused some kind of conflict between her and wyll, given he sold his soul to a devil in dire circumstances and takes issue with the player for sleeping with mizora, because she 1) is mizora, and 2) similarly expends tormented souls during her romance scene, even if for a different purpose. but it just... never really comes up?

i love karlach. but that seems like it should have gone Somewhere, from a writing standpoint? karlach values wyll as a person but is willing to use currency forged from souls like his for the sake of a temporary power up. she knows the soul is consumed when she uses them. that whole exchange with lann tarv is there to emphasize that every soul coin she destroys was a person once. but it all kind of loses narrative purpose if this combination of factors doesn't mean anything? karlach doesn't change at all in her willingness to use soul coins, no matter what the player says or how much she cares for wyll.

how long does it take you to draw your sketches/doodles? also do you have any tips to draw faster? 🙇‍♀️

I generally take 30 - 60 minutes a sketch,,,, but honestly really depends on how detailed it is.

Like a Chibi will be done in 20 - 25 minutes (Counting in the extra time I spend on minute details like a perfectionist 😭)

I for some reason really like spending egregious amounts of time on random objects too??? Unless it’s the in the background, I’ll spend 40 minutes refining it.

Random characters that are fully colored and rendered with take like 80 minutes.

The comics take usually take an hour or two per page. (If I decide to cross hatch it, my entire day will be gone with 4 pages… so I’ve been trying to find shortcuts. But not without sacrificing the quality for time lol)

I don’t think there’s any trick or magic to drawing faster. It’s really about weaponizing your artistic knowledge, and finding what’s comfortable or convenient for you!

There was a period of time where I would spend 11 or 12 hours on an illustration, and it wASS UGLYYYYY. (Some of these artworks are still available on my tumblr,,, but it’s SO LONG AGO, AND IT WAS MY 1ST OR 2ND YEAR GETTING INTO DIGITAL ART)

Overtime I learned what worked best for me, and practiced till I felt more comfortable with what I was drawing. Eventually I managed to shorten the time to 4 hours or less! Ambition was my biggest enemy but at the same time my biggest motivator. (And it still is LMFAO) 😭

EDIT (bit more to my way too long tangent): ALSO??? BRO DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE YOUR MESSY SKETCH AS LINEART OR DRAW ON TOP OF IT. There’s a fluidity to Rian’s movements that speaks to years of training, to being handed a sword and taught to fight practically from birth. He’s a soldier in every sense of the word, that much is plain to see. A champion in a clan of warriors. As Kylan watches him, he feels an ugly, twisting pang in his stomach that he recognizes as envy for the briefest moment. But just as quickly as it comes bubbling up in the back of his throat, he swallows his jealousy down, his ears pinning back as he averts his gaze. Still, it continues churning inside him, a festering whirlpool of anger he’s never allowed himself to feel. This is a son that Mera would be proud of, he thinks to himself, taken aback by the bitterness the thought brings. The Spritons may not be proud fighters the way the Stonewoods are, but they produce many fine warriors. And Kylan has always, always, fallen short of the expectations placed on him in that regard. It was rare that Mera ever said so directly, especially to him, but he knew that he wasn’t what she wanted him to be. The half-born son of two warrior clans, too soft and weak to even hold a sword without trembling. It sounds like a bad joke, but Kylan can’t quite find the humor in it.

you know even though it’s important to acknowledge how sexist/homophobic the writing was for Isabella and how shes definitely not good for edward(her actions in the dress up scene can easily be interpreted as rape since Edward is consistently mentally ill in this show and literally went to Arkham for it) but to paint her as someone intentionally malicious is very ????? Strange to me.

it paints her as someone calculating, someone who know what they’re doing is wrong but does it anyways which isn’t like how we see her act in the show at all. We see her risk her life for a man who she’s only dated (AND KNOWN!!!!) in the SPAN OF A WEEK!!! A WEEK PEOPLE!!! The first time she risked her life was when she found out he used to be in Arkham and killed his previous girlfriend and stayed with him nonetheless and the second was when she risked being strangled to death while she was dressed up as Kristen to prove he wouldn’t hurt her. Both of these events happened within the same week. If you were planning to intentionally abuse someone in order to make yourself feel more in control and powerful, why would you pick a man who went into Arkham for killing his previous partner LET ALONE DRESS UP AS HER TO PROVE YOUR LOVE TO HIM???? Someone doing this intentionally would at least wait and pace these events around in order to ensure their safety, not do that all at once. Isabella does them all at once.

even with the clone theory attached to her it still just. Doesn’t really paint her as someone who is mature enough to know what her actions are doing. The clones are at most around a year old, and I don’t think you ever get a good grasp of morals in the span of only a year alive even if you were born as an adult. Even if you head-canon her behavior to be motivated by the court of the owls as a intentional act to separate Ed and Oswald, the blame still wouldn’t fully be on her because of the fact she is a clone whose barely lived a life. This would be her just following orders, not fully understanding the morals of it because this is all she’s ever known!

I know it’s because she doesn’t have a lot of content so she’s more flexible as a character which makes you be able to make her whatever you want her to be but it’s like !!!! We like the same show right??? Why aren’t you not utilizing the little bits of characterization we do get of her in canon for your version of her? What’s the point of writing for such an underdeveloped character if you only keep around one to two traits in the end?

it just feels like wasted potential. With a character like her you can explore how sometimes not all abusers know what they’re doing. You can explore how sometimes abusers are hurting their own well being with their abuse. You can explore how sometimes abusers are also victims. You can explore abusers who aren’t the most standard basic idea of abuse with someone like her and yet it’s the route not taken!!!!
