stranger things season one 2016 was so fucking incredible. it exists as an entirely different entity to me than the rest of the show. you literally just had to be there. to this day nothing has ever come close to the amount of universal love for a fictional story that stranger things first received. ive been chasing this high for eight years.

now im awake enough to post my screenshots it’s really getting to the point where kaito and stacy’s rivalry is completely one sided. stacy wants to beat him so he doesn’t have to confront his own feelings. but at the same time stacy does things to prioritize yatsude’s wellbeing and also assisted kaito’s mother. but he doesn’t want to be doing these things, as he’s comfortable in his own suffering.

kaito, however, sees none of that rivalry on his end. he’s moved past wanting to kill stacy, perhaps harming him to the point of near death the first time was too much. he was genuinely happy when stacy returned, he complimented him, he was thrilled that he was alive and breathing. and now he only wants to “beat” stacy to drag him to colorful himself. to have him spend time with yatsude and maybe even begin to care about others. zox and the rest of the zenkaigers still see stacy as an enemy that needs to be defeated. but kaito? stacy is someone that can still be a friend even despite the hurt. there are second chances.

FUN FACT FOR YOU!!! this was like the second(?) wip i ever wrote for this fandom bc i was like GASP. FATHER'S DAY. I HAVE TO WRITE COMADUO FOR THIS and then i proceeded to overthink it and never post BUT RHFJFK i do love it very dearly and I'll probs be able to finish next father's day sooo!

Buck awkwardly stands in front of the restaurant shifting from side to side, and holding the wrapped box that the record lays in. On top of the box is a handmade card with the pun “Words cannot espresso how much you bean to me” written on it with two coffee beans dressed in firefighter gear that looks like a five year old made it. Maddie said it was perfect, Eddie just clapped Buck on the shoulder before walking away to grab them both beers. Buck tried not to overthink it. He thinks Bobby will appreciate the pun at least. He’s still not sure if this is a good idea. He knows Athena told him it is and if anyone knows what it is and isn’t a good idea, she does. She also wouldn’t hold back from being honest with Buck, so Buck knows she truly meant it. He still can’t help the unease that fills his stomach as he waits for them to arrive. Buck hears Bobby’s truck before he sees it round the corner, and he straightens, subconsciously pulling the present closer to him. He can see the exact moment Bobby notices him standing outside the restaurant, eyes widening and turning to look at Athena who simply smiles and mouth moves saying something that Buck can’t hear but can picture anyway. Bobby parks the truck and steps out of the truck, a complicated expression on his face but one that Buck thinks is positive. Before the two of them say anything, Athena pats Bobby on the shoulder. “I’ll be over at the spa with Hen. You two boys have fun now. Don’t worry about picking me up after lunch.” Bobby smiles at her still holding a slightly confused expression and gives her a kiss. “Love you.” “I love you too babe.” And then it’s just him and Buck, who is still holding the present awkwardly in his hands. “Uhm, happy father’s day Bobby.” He says and hands over the gift, still feeling unsure with himself. Bobby’s eyes are wet when he takes it and he snorts at the pun on the card, but otherwise he’s quiet as he reads the inside of the card. When he finishes, he tucks it in his back pocket and then unwraps the present. The entire time Buck holds his breath, hoping it goes well. When Bobby sees the record, his eyes immediately flash to Buck’s and for a moment Buck thinks he’s overstepped and he immediately scrambles to explain himself, “I’m sorry—I know you’re my boss and this is—” Bobby cuts him off by pulling Buck into a tight hug, holding onto him for dear life. They stay there for a while, just holding each other, and while they’ve had many hugs before, this one felt different. It felt impactful. When they pull away, Bobby looks at him with a fond expression. “It’s okay Buck. I… I view you as a son too. It isn’t one sided. You really didn’t have to buy me anything though. This is overkill.” Buck laughs self consciously. “I… I just thought it would be nice. I know you haven’t, uhm, had a good father’s day in a while.” Bobby smiles sadly, before patting him on the shoulder. “Come on kid, let’s go eat.”

I’m probably not going to be watching anymore.

I mean it when I say that they’re literally the sole reason I watched this show in the first place. I saw a billion TikTok edits of them & was like “Idek these characters I need to watch this show and see what’s going on over there.”

And like, it’s a fun show, I’m not saying it isn’t, but first responder shows are a dime a dozen. There are other shows that have queer characters and found family and wild adventures. Granted, they don’t have Buck & his bi arc, but I’d still read fanfics to get my Evan Buckley fix lol.

I don’t need them right now, I’m so down for the slow burn, will-they-won’t-they & the pining & the yearning & the build up and the GOOD foundation. I want to see Eddie figuring himself out and dealing with his repression and figuring out he’s queer (& Demi, pls God. I hope if I just say it enough, I can will it into existence somehow) before anything happens with the two of them, but if they take definitive steps to have one of them like, marry someone else or something, I think I’m gonna head out. Find me on ao3 for the rest of my days lol.
