Day 8 - Stability
Each day that I do my yoga practice, I find myself getting back to where I once was. There was a period of time in my life when I would be practicing yoga 3-5 times a week! I genuinely miss those days. I guess the saying is true: You make time for what you want to make time for. In my case, I have not been making time for yoga like I did in the past. This 30-day challenge is motivating to get back to my old ways and something about this time is different. I want this to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary one. I want this to be engrained in me. Kind of like how you don’t skip out on eating, drinking, breathing...I don’t want to skip a beat with yoga. I want my practice to be second nature.

Memory Lane
Sure yoga has been a part of my life since 2012 but it’s always on and off. For a few months, I’ll be on my A-Game and the next months after that, I revert back to a super novice yogi. It’s funny because I’ll look at old photos and videos from time to time just to see my progression and think “Wow, I’ve come a long way” but also think back to when the picture was taken. A lot of times I didn’t see the progress and thought I wasn’t getting any better. Sometimes you have to take a step back and give yourself some credit. When I was consistent, I could get into some serious yoga poses! That’s what I want to work back up to and I will soon. It’s coming.
My Practice Stabilizes Me 
I chose stability for today’s theme because that’s what yoga does for me. It relaxes me, it calms me, it refocuses my negative energy to positive energy. The workout component aside, yoga really does help me align with myself and gives me better clarity. Those few moments on the mat I tend to forget everything and just focus on my breath and body movements without being self-conscious. After my practice, I feel like I can take on the day!

I went to a blogging event tonight and one of the key takeaways was time. You make time for the things you want to make time for, whether it be relationships, friendships, working out, perfecting your craft...whatever! If you want something, you’ll not only go for it but you will make the time for it. I want to be a yoga teacher someday and I know I need to make time for my practice! I’m trying to make it a habit to practice 3-4 times a week. I’ve said this goal over and over again but this time I mean it! What do you love to do? It’s That Time of The Year
It’s December so you know what that means. Time to reflect and make New Year’s Resolutions that you’ll only keep for a month or two (if you’re anything like me and you have the attention span of a dog).

I haven’t been on here at all. In fact, the last time I was on my yoga blog was around this time last year when I had just finished finals and needed a stress reliever. Same thing, just a new year. That’s a shame but at least I’ll admit it. December does give me time to reflect and recharge, which I can appreciate.  Hence why I’m back. Heyyyyyy y’all!
Yoga Dreams
During my time of recharge and reevaluation, my quest to become a yoga teacher has resurfaced. Not that I just totally forgot about it or anything like that but grad school takes up 99.9% of my free time and I’ll also admit, I dropped the ball on my practice and my eating habits. I don’t know what it was about this year but I’ve eaten out so much and cooked so less that I don’t even recognize who this girl is anymore.  Fast food would have never crossed my mind in the past. This year? Whataburger, Taco Bell, Raising Canes, Fat Bao and countless others have all been a part of my diet. I look at my old posts and see myself talking about Whole30. Oh how far ye have fallen from grace girl LOL.

Back to my point
I will not promise I will post every week or hell..every month because when I say that, I typically don’t but I’ll try my best. I want to get back to cooking healthy food and strengthening my practice because come Fall 2018, I WILL be someone’s yoga instructor! I would like to document my journey on here, along with my other random Yogi adventures.  Let me speak it into existence now...I WILL be documenting my journey on here so feel free to join the ride.

Hey are you still here?
* Dusting off the cobwebs* Well hello there! The Yogi Baddie In Training is back! Last time I posted it was around this time last year ( go figure...I bet I was on some new year, new me type stuff. Kind of like how I am now lol). As usual, I know my flaky self so when I say I’m going to try to do better and post consistently on here, there are no guarantees! I do have a lot to share though so maybe I will give it another go :)   
So what has been going on?
Anyways...a lot has happened since I last posted. One of the biggest things that happened in the past year was that I finally became a yoga instructor!! That’s right! I became a RYT-200 in December 2018. I have always wanted to become a teacher and now I am one. Initially, I wanted to blog/document the whole thing but 200-hour teaching training is no joke. Like I was living in No Time, Tx by way of Eat, Sleep, Breath Yoga, Tx.  My new goal for this year is to secure a steady studio class and dive deeper into my practice. More on that journey in future blog posts.

Cool story...now what?
I have a lot of things to share with you guys. Everything from my yoga teacher training, to what I have learned to my thoughts as a fresh-eyed teacher and forever student. More than anything I want this page to be a resource to all and provide a transparent view of yoga. I’m not saying I know everything (trust me I don’t) but I do want to share what I know and how I feel. 
I have some great things floating around in my head and I’m eager to get them out. Stay tuned, yogis.
