You often mention your sister. Yes, we were very close. She was terribly pretty and terribly nice. A bit like you, actually.

Howdy, guess who finally has some time to do a proper reblog!!
we love long posts in this house, let's get into it:
03x01
I love your thoughts on Confined and fully agree, that episode was the highlight of the season for me. We got a good sense of time passing and we got to see how clever and resilient Omega is in all the little ways she adapted, which said a lot about her character. And unffff the clock imagery. The whole base feels like this never ending circular loop, much like (as you pointed out) Kamino. 03x02
"Themewise this episode was good, but plot-wise not so much" Yeah, that's a good summary for it. Call me a masochist but I would have loved to have one of the cadets be an echo of Tech, a mini tech junkie, just to fill that void and inject the dynamics with some life and maybe give us that sweet angst of the characters agonizing over the similarities.
03x03
We're in agreement here, a killer episode. I love me a good setup and payoff moment (Batcher) and when different plotlines interweave in a logical way (Palpy's visit giving Omega a chance to escape). It all comes together so nicely. The best of Crosshair and Omega's interactions too.
03x04
I have my issues with this one as you know but I can agree it's a solid episode. Isn't it a bit too convenient that the 'asshole of the week' just happens to have an exotic pet smuggling business? Right when we got a dog? Hmmm. Jokes aside I would have loved this one with less monsters in it lol.
03x05
Okay not to be dramatic but this one... this one broke me. I don't think it's an overstatement to say that my perception of the season just wasn't the same after it. I love many of the things you pointed out but I have a severe ick when it comes to clunky dialogue and weird characterization and I had very high expectations for Cross' arc at this point. So I'll just say it isn't my favorite and move on.
03x06 and 07
Like you said yourself, these episodes suffered from a lot of forced drama. And plot for plot reasons. Echo getting the boot just to be Gregor's driver, just so we could get a scene with the Rebels trio at the end. For no reason. I also have severe criticism regarding how a supposed military operates here (spoilers, they don't act like one) so this episode was a dud in my book.
Crosshair's OOC-ness was pain inducing and all the focus on CX-2 was completely meaningless knowing where he ends up in hindsight. Talk about adding insult to injury.
And Howzer. You know what I think of this Howzer.
03x08
Also in agreement with you here, I'm still not sure why Crosshair is being left behind besides giving us those moments with Omega but I will say I liked his interaction with AZI. This man should have so much pent up anger and we barely see any of it.
Hunter just forgot to renew his super senses subscription, they're going through a rough patch.
03x09
Wow, so weird that we skipped a whole episode right??
03x10
Emerie is honestly my MVP this season and I never saw that coming. Her arc was the least messy and most well-executed of them all, I love what they did with her.
03x11
"But somehow, I couldn't enjoy this episode completely… still searching for the why." You and me both! I think it might be because I saw where it was going very early on but that might just be because I've watched ATLA one too many times and that's a plot point from one of the first episodes (y'know? Aang giving himself up to protect the villagers?). So the suspense element was ruined for me.
I almost feel like the Marauder was blown up for shock factor, I'm not a fan of that decision (why does everyone else get to park in the secret protected cave but not our protagonists). Again, what was the point of focusing on CX-2 if he would end up as unidentified shish-kebab.
03x12
Yes, yes and yes. We were way overdue for some more Phee and I will forever love the way they reintegrated Ramaprt into the plot. Finally a character appearance that was both meaningful, plot-relevant and well done while also being a nice surprise.
I love your opinions and apologize once again if mine are too negative lol. Maybe in time I'll be less harsh on this season once I get over my main issues with it. But eh, I'd rather be honest than fake about it.
Thank you for the lovely long reply 🧡
hello my dear 💙 what's your absolute favorite part of season three of tbb so far? maybe top three favorite parts?
and of course yours truly is always open to asks
Hi & thanks for the ask 😃😃😃
This question isn't that easy because some episodes so far were absolutely mixed bags… so I'm going to rate each episode and will conclude with a ranking of the best of them.
Therefore, long post inbound!
03x01 - Confined: 5/5
This episode set the mood for the entire season perfectly and showed nicely how cold and uncaring the Empire is - compared to Tantiss, Kamino is almost homely. (Tantiss really mirrors Kamino, doesn't it?) Also the juxtapose between Omega and Crosshair in all their differences was set in scene nicely and brought forth their incredible chemistry which is definitely one of the highlights in this season. Personally, I adore as well the clock-symbolism of the centrifuge machine thanks to its ability to create an undercurrent of tension.
03x02 - Paths Unknown: 2/5
Yes, probably a bit hard rating but the slither vine wasn't that good. The young clones are adorable side-characters and were put to good use by making a connection to the main conflict (being a family vs being soldiers). Themewise this episode was good, but plot-wise not so much - like mentioned before, Wrecker and Hunter haven't got much synergy to carry a scene or even a whole episode together. In this episode I missed Tech dearly - not only because of the data extraction part, but as a character who lets everyone around him shine and who asks questions which creates a certain tension in the team as well a lot of funny moments.
03x03 - Shadows of Tantiss: 5/5
This episode as well was pure joy for me: Omega and Cross working together to escape was superbly done - the one works to get them out, the other one keeps the spirits up during the escape. 😍 Also, Batcher as back-up was nicely done! But equally I like that Omega and Cross only escaped because Nala Se gave them the means and Hemlock didn't wanted to risk killing Omega - the plausibility was well done in this episode. And introducing the Vault was artfully done as well!
03x04 - A Different Approach: 5/5
Like in every episode with the main focus on Cross&Omega I enjoyed this as well - it showed nicely how much Omega has learned but that she isn't ready to face the big bad universe on her own. Also the slimy officer was a fun minor antagonist and got a very deserving end! (Which reminds me: Only the first episode is an episode without any big monster…) The sole flaw was that they cut the reunion too early and didn't bother to explain Hunters and Wreckers frowns… yep, I'm still salty because of that.
03x05 - The Return: 4/5
Oh boy, here I'm torn between 3/5 and 4/5. Ultimately, I went for 4/5 because all the small moments were done good: Echo as the teams moderator, Cross getting his armor back, AZI and the target practice, hinting Omegas conflicted feelings regarding the other clones in Tantiss, the vulture symbolism, paying a tribute to Mayday, Phees cameo. The big flaw - like you repeatedly pointed out - is the handling of the conflict between Crosshair and Hunter: The build-up was nice, but they chickend out of the portrayal with introducing the ice wyrm (pray tell, what's the difference to the Krayt Dragons on Tatooine?)
03x06 - Infiltration: 3/5
This gets a 3 out of 5 - even though it wasn't a bad episode. I just dislike how overpowered CX-2 is albeit his mirroring of the Bad Batch as whole is an awesome concept. Also why did the writers decided to bench Echo out of all the characters?? The conflict between Cross and Rexs squad was done nicely, as well the chilling nature of the CXs - but I wished that they had done more than hinting what happened to Cross. There's only so long you can push the can down the street. Another point of criticism that arises from the latest episode is that withholding information is kind off OOC for Crosshair, especially when Omegas life is on the line and that Rex doesn't know what a M-count is, is pretty ridiclious. (And a boring conflict as well!)
03x07 - Extraction: 3/5
Same as Episode 6: The fight Crosshair vs the CX-2 was well set up and nicely done but they should have spilled the beans further about what happened (just my opinion). But hats off for the continued portrayal of Crosshairs handshaking and the consequences it produced. (And I love the scene "I'm much worse" sooo much 😍) I think the conflict Wolffe vs Rex was underutilized and they got too easily away… therefore 3 stars.
03x08 - Bad Territory : 2/5
Two stars solely for the Omega and Crosshair-moments; the rest of the episode was far too long and too plot-less for my taste. One would think that after all this time the boys would have learned how to broker a better deal than that. Also, the writers could have illustrated Hunters senses better because now I don't know what's supposed to be so special about them…
03x09 - The Harbinger: 1/5
Def my least favorite episode - y'know why.
03x10 - Identity Crisis: 5/5
This episode was unexpected, but very welcome - the deep dive into Emeries POV is very well done. Especially the showing of her emotions and the growing doubts were depicted perfectly and the kidnapping of Bayrn (the baby Tarlafar) was heartbreaking as well as the other kids. It's just like Kamino all over again except these kids know exactly what they have lost.
03x11 - Point of No Return: 4/5
Omega giving herself up was so very in character as well fitting into her emotional conflict in this episode; the invasion of Pabu was peak imperial villainness. Also Hunter hijacking the ship and Cross fighting with the troopers felt very in character and apropriate regarding the high stakes. But somehow, I couldn't enjoy this episode completely… still searching for the why. Maybe it just hit too close to my heart with the destruction of the Marauder or maybe the stealth of CX-2 was overdone…
03x12 - Juggernaut: 4/5
Once again a case between 3/5 and 4/5 - in the end, 4/5 won because: - amazing Phee-piloting - Rampart as absolutely petty b*tch - the remaining batch working flawlessly together - Hemlock playing mind games with Omega Flaws imo are Cross giving up information far too late and the copy-paste from The Believer…
Final ranking is therefore: ✨✨✨
🥇Shadows of Tantiss
🥈A Different Approach
🥉Confined & Identity Crisis
🏅 Honorable mention: Point of No Return for the perfect heartfelt drama
Sorry that it got so long but once again thanks for your questions & I can't wait to discuss this list in more detail with you 😃

It burns, It clears.
In this scene, what Helene said to V was really interesting to me. Doesn't this remind you of anything? exactly. The scene where Villanelle burned down her family’s house.
But the house didn't matter to her obviously. The darkness in it did. Her mother's darkness. As we all know, Oksana became Villanelle so she could find a way to make herself feel something.
She was doing this by killing people, wearing the best dresses, using the best perfumes and manipulating people. But none of those helped her feel things.
It's like she was locked in a prison of her own mind and the key to break free was getting rid of the darkness in her. the darkness that was actually her mother's.
In 03x05 Tatiana tells V that she doesn't need her darkness in this house. V tells her that she has always been the darkness. the darkness in Villanelle is because of her mother and the things she did to Villanelle as a kid. Villanelle is so sensitive and emotional but because of the darkness in her we barely saw that side of her till 03x05. We all noticed how V changed after that episode. Emotionally.
So what happened to the dark side of her? Exactly. She destroyed the source of that darkness. She killed the darkness. She killed her mother. And that's still affecting her because the darkness is still burning inside. it's painful.
But after the fire ends, it clears everything. Villanelle is burning inside and is in pain more than she has ever been. But after the fire ends, it clears the darkness in her. And there's someone who can help V to get better, faster. In season 2, the only time we saw Villanelle being actually so emotional and vulnerable, was in 02x04
Guess because of who? you got that right. Eve.
Villanelle loves Eve because she takes her darkness away. With Eve, Villanelle is actually herself. And let me point out the strange effect lyrics in the scene where Eve and V kissed. i don't think It's an accident.
“you make my darkness bright”
Eve subconsciously makes Villanelle a better version of herself and she doesn't know it but Villanelle does. She feels it in herself whenever Eve is around. I feel things when I'm with you.
That's what the whole season is about: Recovery. And seriously, without this season, Villanelle and Eve could never be together.

MYTHBUSTERS STARTERS 03x05 - CHINESE INVASION ALARM
"He’s marching to his own beat.”
“Ya know, my people come from a long line of goat-shavers.”
“A classic American old wives’ tale.”
“You can still eat it.”
“I wouldn’t eat it just because YOU have handled it.”
“Is it a filth-ridden, bucket of scum?”
“I want to be able to eat off the damn floor.”
“What’s my immune system for, anyway?”
“It’s housed ducks and skunks...and rubbed down with engine grease.”
“That’s why I love this job.”
“We just received some new information.”
“I feel it’s in my blood.”
“I can’t say I’m looking forward to shaving a goat.”
“Guess what I did today?”
“Excellent job shaving your goat.”
“How you gonna feel if your mouth is dirtier than a dog’s?”
“Whoa, there’s almost no bacteria on the toilet seat!”
“Your toilet seat is the most bacteria-free.”
“Where’s the dog? BRING ON THE DOG.”
“Wanna lick the sterile agar plate?”
“Can’t wait to find out what happens.”
“I don’t know how long it would take, maybe like a week?”
“Go get ‘em boy.”
“His robot comes complete with a handy pickax.”
“This is...ridiculous.”
“Should we go on in?”
“So this is the map you were talking about?”
“I don’t eat my own poo.”
“What do you think is going to happen?”
“I don’t think the results are all that conclusive.”
“Look out for the tree!”
“What about the alarm hole?”
“I can’t hear anything with my naked ear.”
“SHOCKING.”
“I can’t believe that worked.”
“Absolutely plausible.”

I feel like there was a moment after the kiss in 03x05 where they had this "break up". Q seems to be wanting to just give up on the quest, go back home w El and shit while El wants to focus on the puzzle and El tells him "You want to live your life, live it here." q asks "What is that supposed to mean?" and the answer is "You know exactly what that means." It's like El was telling him "I will focus on the puzzle if you want to date, find someone ELSE HERE and do so"
And when Q tried to talk about the kiss El shuts him down. No talk. Literally tells him to think about the puzzle. So he not only shut Q down first, he tells him to live his life there. Meaning go ahead, build a house, a family, do your normie shit, but do it while focusing on the puzzle and, therefore, without me. El was really trying to just solve the quest but he ended up getting himself involved when Arielle died. I think he accept then as his family somewhere around then.
yes i also read that conversation as some sort of a break up moment for them, especially because right after that quentin got together with arielle. though i’m not sure if eliot asked quentin to find another person with whom he could start a family, i mean i’m not sure that quentin wanted that back then, i feel like they both were just frustrated, but eliot kinda got used to all of that and was really focused on solving the mosaic, while quentin was probably just keep saying how he’s tired of wasting his life on that stupid quest, i feel like they didn’t even really care about their feelings for each other for some time, because they were just feeling hopeless, and angry at themselves and at one another. but then quentin started a family, and also get used to that life, and just like that, they didn’t even noticed how that mosaic became just some kind of a routine. they still wanted to solve it but at the same time probably didn’t even hope that it will actually happen someday, they were just enjoying their lives. and i guess around that time quentin and eliot acknowledged their feelings for each other again. and about eliot shutting quentin down after the kiss… i feel like they both didn’t want to get distracted by it, so quentin agreed with him and probably thought, that as soon as they come back, they will talk about that and decide what they want to do with it, though probably eliot was also feeling back then that quentin wasn’t feeling clearly. sorry i feel like my thoughts are all over the place ugh

Ezekiel Jones
I’ve been seeing theories that Ezekiel is naturally resistant to magic (or at least, some forms of magic).
[Related posts: Flynn Carson, Eve Baird, Jacob Stone, Cassandra Cillian, Jenkins, and Other Characters]
I thought I’d make a post about times when he was/was not affected by magic.
Times Magic Got Ezekiel
01x03 And the Horns of a Dilemma - Ezekiel experienced the Labyrinth’s effects (the “lingering curse” that bamboozles people that escape the physical place so they’ll wander back inside) just as much as the others.
01x04 And Santa’s Midnight Run - Ezekiel is clearly affected by Santa’s Hat (a totem for Santa’s current incarnation). Note: In this same episode, Ezekiel also made a “Christmas Wish” about experiencing Christmas Spirit as a “good guy.”
01x08 And the Heart of Darkness - Ezekiel is shrunk and teleported by the House of Refuge inside its dollhouse replica (to protect him).
01x09 And the City of Light - Eve Baird, as a quasi-ghost/being trapped in an energy field possessed Ezekiel’s body to help him win a fight against multiple opponents.
02x05 And the Hollow Men - Ezekiel falls under the spell of Pan’s Flute just as easily as anybody else. Note: Technically, we didn’t see Pan’s Flute knocking Ezekiel out... Stone walks in and finds him on the ground. However, he does wake up in the next scene with no sign of injury/trauma, so it was likely Pan’s Flute.
02x06 And the Infernal Contract - The magic of the Infernal Contract messes with Ezekiel’s abilities, getting him nearly caught during their heist and nearly killing him along with the others.
02x09 And the Happily Ever Afters - Ezekiel was pulled into the “happily ever after” story he and the other Librarians (and Eve and James Moriarty) were trapped in by Prospero via a powerful spell and matching totems.
03x01 And the Rise of Chaos - Ezekiel is just as affected by Apep’s Chaotic Radius Power as the other Librarians. (Though we see/hear very little of his belligerence.)
03x02 And the Fangs of Death - Ezekiel is injured by a werewolf and goes through the transformation process, nearly becoming one. Even after Jenkins prevents the transformation and reverts the changes, Ezekiel still shows some after-affects of the bite (e.g. “fetching” the ball Stone threw at the end of the episode).
03x04 And the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy - Ezekiel’s future can be predicted via Prophecy Glass--both by himself and by other people. Also, his memory was messed with just like Stone and Eve.
03x05 And the Tears of a Clown - Ezekiel was turned into a “Snake Charmer” for the Carnival Sideshow and his memory was messed with.
04x05 And the Bleeding Crown - Ezekiel is clearly in pain as his Librarian Juice is sucked by the Bleeding Crown.
04x02 And the Steal of Fortune - Something happens to Ezekiel when Fortuna “kisses” him. (Either his luck was stolen, OR he somehow was driven to fixation on gambling/winning that isn’t normally present in his character.)
Times Magic Tried to Get Ezekiel and Failed
01x05 And the Apple of Discord - Ezekiel is not effected by the Apple, which is supposed to turn you into the worst version of yourself.
01x06 And the Fables of Doom - When all the Librarians are turned into Fairy Tale characters by the reality-warping storybook, Ezekiel was “turned into himself,” aka The Jack, the character that gets by on his wits and survives the tales unscathed. He doesn’t even get a wardrobe change or a pet owl out of it!
03x07 And the Curse of Cindy - Ezekiel was unaffected by the “Love Spell Perfume” for Cindy even though everyone else exposed to it was affected by it.
04x04 And the Silver Screen - Ezekiel isn’t affected by any of the movies that drag him in, even though both Stone and Cassandra are are least get caught up as their characters in the Western. Ezekiel is likewise unaffected by the scifi film they get stuck in next... the only thing that gets affected is his costume/wardrobe.
Other Suspicious Magical Stuff
02x03 And What Lies Beneath the Stones - The hokolonote doesn’t duplicate Ezekiel. Correction: The hokolonote does turn into Ezekiel very briefly but doesn’t use him to impersonate/confuse anyone--just to antagonize the Librarians while locking them in the hokolonote’s prison.
02x04 And the Cost of Education - Ezekiel deliberately provokes the tentacled monster and manages to escape its grasps with little more than a golf cart. (And the noble sacrifice of Stumpy the Gargoyle.)
04x03 And the Christmas Thief - The Saint of Thieves chooses to make Ezekiel’s mother speak, despite it being obvious that Ezekiel knows more. According to the rules, The Saint of Thieves should have just as much power over Ezekiel as he does over his mother, since they’re both thieves.
I hesitate to draw conclusions without doing a similar list for the other Librarians and Eve. However, at first glance, Magic Gets Ezekiel far more often than he escapes it.
At second glance, Ezekiel seems “resistant” to magic that affects people via warping reality (e.g. the storybook in And the Fables of Doom and the films in And the Silver Screen) and to magic that attempts to manipulate their personality (e.g. the golden apple from And the Apple of Discord). Also, Ezekiel has been affected by magical totems twice: Santa’s Hat and the totem Prospero used on him in And the Happily Ever Afters.
Longer analysis coming soon.
