6. Art Trade Time!!!

We both agreed on ships, bc shipping is love, shipping is life. Kazachokolate requested Vasilisa and Alexander from Black Book. I asked for Vasilisa (yeah that's kinda funny) and the Cat from Fantasy Patrol. Guess we both like Russian witches with braids, fine relations with black cats and who also are female husbands to their male wife nerds.

7. "Blind" Ship.

Each of us picked a character and drew them in a kissing pose without telling each other about our choice. We only agreed on head size and hand position beforehand. I had a very hard time making the decision. Mavis is probably not the most creative option, but I'm actually happy with how it all turned out to be.

A tin man and a vampire girl is a pretty neat ship, if I do say so myself. Them outliving their partners wouldn't be an issue anymore. :D I love how they randomly got some similar details like Mavis' hair and Tin Man's hadle (which resebles hair a bit) sticking out and curving or them both having small round dimples.

This meme was an enjoyable experience. Really helped me to get myself out of my comfort zone a bit.^^

As excited as I am for the new Hotel Transylvania series that’s coming to Netflix, what I want is a spinoff on the Drac Pack waaaay before the events of the first movie

I wanna see young versions of Dracula and his pals

I wanna see how they all met and became a squad

We got to see how Dracula met Martha, but I wanna see how Wayne met Wanda and how Frank met Eunice (even though I’m 99.9999% sure his father/creator told him “hey I made you a wife” or smth straightforward like that lmao)

I wanna see them go on various misadventures

I wanna see these idiots help Dracula take care of a baby Mavis and having NO clue on how to do so

I wanna see each of the Drac Pack having their own lore and what their families look like. Is Victor Frankenstein an asshole like he is in the book or is he a goofy science boi? What was Murray’s life like as an entertainer to Pharohs? Was Griffin born invisible or made invisible? Same question goes to Wayne. And HOW are the relationships with their families? What’s Dracula’s mom like if he has/had one?

I want to introduce you to... Lydia! Ta-da!

Drawing the female character model turned out to be much more difficult than I thought. But for the first time, in my opinion, it turned out quite decent.

So, perhaps I can start with the fact that a very small number of people know about the series "Hotel Transylvania" and that Drac has a sister. Here she is in the original, by the way:

What have I changed/added/removed?

First of all, it's her hair; I never liked her hairstyle with the tiara...? I don't know, I couldn't find an explanation for what's on her head, even on the internet... Hair braided into a bun was the best I could offer. (￣ω￣)

I chose the clothes based on her character. A long skirt, corset, blouse - all strict and beautiful. She has no connection to the hotel, as she doesn't live there, so she has no reason to wear anything with its logo.

The staff. I have a theory that Lydia had problems with magic concentration from birth, so she simply can't cast spells with her hands like others can. And the staff just helps her solve this problem. Well, as you can see, I replaced the staff with an umbrella, which serves the same purpose.

She doesn't wear a cloak, or wears it only in rare cases.

Her character hasn't undergone any major changes, probably... In the eyes of society, she appears as a heartless scoundrel who would sell her brother for a single corn cob (well, I suppose that's true). However, she sincerely worries about him in her own way. After Martha's death, she volunteered to sit with Mavis without Drac's request, until he settled some matters.

I can suggest that Lydia is knowledgeable about gemstones, art, and astrology.

There is a lower bite, but you can't see it until she starts smiling. Lydia is obviously complexed because of it, so she prefers not to show bright emotions.

She has a pet - a chicken (I decided to keep this detail from the series). It's not intelligent, unlike the original, and doesn't carry any special value, but Lydia loves it for some reason. Once, Drac's chef almost roasted the poor animal, after which she stopped carrying it around with her to the hotel. (￣ ￣|||)

What if Hank were in the movie, what difference will make?

That's a tough question. It depends on what kind of difference we're talking about.

Hank could be a side character, Drac's errand boy who was told to keep his childhood friend Mavis distracted from definitely-not-a-human-guy.

Hank could be one of the main characters and replace Drac in some scenes. Or even replace him in plot almost completely. For example, Hank could be the one who was trying to hide Johnny since the human found the monster hotel because of young Stein's mistake.

Knowing animation clichés and tendencies, I think, Hank would probably be involved into the love triangle and competition against Johnny. And knowing the same tendencies, I'm pretty sure that he wouldn't be allowed to win it. And they wouldn't make it look like he lost. For example, Frank and Drac are besties who have been watching their kids growing up together ever since they met. They'd be matchmakers to their children. However, Mavis and Hank are not in love. Then Mavis and Johnny have the Zing and Hank is not only has to deal with his dad pushing him to woo Mavis but also by jealousy and fear to lose her as a friend. So it's a huge relief as in the end Hank and everybody else get to know about Mavis and Johnny's zing and Mavis still wants to be friends with Hank. It's a bit weird that in the original movie Drac assures everyone that humans are super dangerous to the point that monsters believe one human being can kill all of them. But Dracula himself is not scared of Johnny a bit. I smell batshit here. I think that it'd be interesting to see how Hank, the most cowardly monster of all, gets to be the first one who befriends a human guy (who was also scared as hell at first). A bit corny maybe, but that's just me. 😜

You know, I ship Havis but I'm not sure if there's a point in replacing Johnny with Hank completely. What the main Drac's problem would be? The perspective of not having a blood-related grandchildren, because all Steins are made by mad scientists? I think the subject of Dracula's bloodline being at risk is an interesting issue, but despite that, I greatly doubt it'd be a fine topic for the first movie. I can't think of any other drama except that Drac would have zero trust in any boy Mavis could date but that's also — meh...

I'd like to hear some other thoughts on this. 😁

Once upon a time dracula from hotel transylvania decided to go for a walk on the beach.. When he saw Daryl! (the seagull) “what’s goodie man?!?!” Dracula said. Daryl ignored him and flew into the sunset. That’s when Dracula realized he CAN’T BE IN THE SUN! Then he got burnt to ashes. Gru from despicable me saw this and ran to him “Dracula..?” He was in disbelief that his husband was dead. “MY POOKIE!!!” He yelled. All of a sudden a minion attacked Gru and took Dracula's ashes! Gru got knocked out.

When he woke up he was in what seemed to be a hospital “What.. What happened?” Gru called out to anyone who was listening. “You have schizophrenia.” A doctor said, Gru looked over, barely able to open his eyes. “What?” The doctor sighed. “You passed out due to high blood pressure. Maybe lay off the chocolate bars FATTIE.” Gru was stunned “Elaborate on the fact I have schizophrenia and not that I love chocolate..” The doctor frowned. “What was the last thing you remember?” Gru pondered, trying to recall what happened. “My minion attacked me and took Dracula's ashes!!” “About that..” The doctor paused. “My tardis diagnosed you with schizophrenia. The minion and Dracula don’t exist.” Gru processed what the doctor said. “Tardis? What did you say your name was again?” “The doctor” Gru gasped. “Okay so not A doctor.. THE doctor..” The doctor nodded. “I need to go home..” Gru insisted. The doctor turned on the tardis and a loud whirring sound started playing. Then.. it stopped. Gru started walking towards the door, thanking the doctor for helping him.

He opened the door of the tardis to find his house, with his 3 daughters standing outside, waiting for him to come home. In the distance you could hear the tardis leaving. “Girls.. I have some bad news.” Gru paused, not being able to get the words out of his mouth. “Dracula is dead.” The girls all gave each other a look. “Who?” They asked in unison. Gru remembered what the doctor said, about having schizophrenia. “Nevermind girls, go to bed.” And they did. He walked in the house and sat on the couch, looking above the fireplace at the family photos. “There’s no way all of that wasn’t real.” He thought to himself. Suddenly he got a call from the doctor. Gru picked up. “I have Dracula and your minion. It’s all real. Don’t trust the doctor.”.
