I was listening to 'Bloodlines will burn' because it's so beautifuly haunting and sad and I like torturing myself and then, I came across these pictures while listening

Visenya could've lived. She could've grown up to be a beautiful woman just like her mother. And she would've been a fierce dragon rider like her mother and father.

Daemon could've taught her High Valyrian and how to wield a sword.

Nyra would've loved dressing her up and doing her hair in the style of Old Valyria.

I know Jace, Luke, Joff would've adored her. They would chase her around the Painted Table and tickled her.

Baela and Rhaena would've been overjoyed to have another sister and girl in the family.

Baela would take her on a ride above Dragonstone on Moondancer.

Rhaena would've picked out the dragon egg that would lay in the crib of her little sister. Or maybe Rhaena would've given Visenya her own egg in the hope of it hatching and bonding with her.

Visenya was robbed of her life before it even started. She was robbed of knowing her parents and siblings. She was robbed of their love. And they were robbed of hers.

I will forever hold a grudge against TG, just for causing Nyra's miscarriage, not including all the other horrible shit they did to Rhaenyra and how they've treated her for years.

this is so damn sad and funny at the same time, i mean - I BLAME THE WRITERS :( ....because the book Rhaenyra and Daemon were on the same page, both unhinged and made of fire! This Hess and Condal's BS fanfic with Daemon choking Rhaenyra, or Rhaenyra crying over Alicent's book page (?!) was like :

... Hell, even Matt said him and Emma were AGAINST the choking scene and felt it was all kinds of wrong but had to do it in the end. How absurd is that?!........ writers are ruining HotD, Daemon, Rhaenyra and Daemyra BIG TIME :"(

If you had the chance to change something about the dance of the dragons (TV show or book), what would it be? For example, how a character dies, which team a house is on,or an entire character personally. How would you change it to make the story better, in your opinion?♥️🖤💙💚

That's a good question. I'm not sure if I would change anything about the book, BUT there are SO many things I would change about the show.

1. Rhaenyra and Alicent's friendship - I really loved them being friends on the show, but the book portrays something completely different. I would have loved to see them as they were in the book. I really don't know why they changed that, but I didn't really mind.

2. We NEED more Baela and Rhaena scenes, and I would definitely change their ugly wigs. Please give them something better.

3. OH, AND ALSO, I REALLY need Alicole to happen (please, please, please).

4. This might be the only thing I would change about both the books and the show - I'd have Jaehaera live and be the mother to Aegon III's kids. The way she died was completely unnecessary and brutal. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT.

5. WHY DID I NOT SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE YET?! RAAAAAHHH, I WAS SUPPOSED TO SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE AND HAELENA RIDING DREAMFYRE IN EP10. IF I DON'T SEE AEGON RIDING SUNFYRE IN THE FIRST 5 MILLISECONDS OF S2EP1, I'M NEVER WATCHING HOTD AGAIN. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

6. The whole Rhaenys and Meleys scene was like what?! It NEEDS TO BE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY. The creators wanted a badass dragon scene for the end so bad, and the only thing they created was a scene that DID NOT make sense. The fact that Meleys burst through the floor with Rhaenys on her back and Rhaenys didn't even get the smallest scratch is crazy and such bad writing. I loved Aegon's coronation so much, and the fact that it had to be ruined by this scene is sad.

7. DAEROOOOOOOON WHERE ARE YOU, screaming crying. I'm starting to have feeling they are just gonna pretend that Daeron doesn't exist, they are gonna completely cut him out

So ok, let me rant.

I don't think I can keep watching HOTD. I love the story in itself, yes, but it is just too painful. First, the dragon scenes are excruciating and second I am not loving what they are doing to the story. Rhaenyra is just a goody two shoes, I love her, I get her not wanting to plunge the realm into chaos, that's all fine and admirable but she has been boring. It's not Emma's fault at all but I would love to see Milly's Rhaenyra with her fierce personality that was so captivating. Younger Rhaenyra was not mean, I don't believe she would have wanted war for the sake of it, but she was so compelling that I would still love her plot. And Daemon, I cannot. They are destroying Daemon to me. He is my most beloved character, more than in the book. I know he's not good and I don't want him to be, but still I was in love with their romance in season up to ep10 as I don't remember being in love with a tv show romance in a decade, as gothic and twisted as it was. And episode 10 destroyed it for me, I can't stand abusive relationships and that chocking scene was so OOC that I felt betrayed. What had I been watching for the other 9 episodes, was it all a lie? Because I am sure I saw a man very deeply in love with a woman, a man that became a shadow of himself without her in his life. And all because he had done the right thing. Leaving her in the brothel was not abandoning her, it was the right thing to do, that's where I fell in love with their romance honestly. He was overwhelmed by what he was feeling but she was still so young so he spared her, from himself, from his darkness. Still he went to her wedding to make sure that she was happy with her marriage and you can just see his face when he sees her so radiant, dancing with Laenor, that he wants her to be happy. So he gives her up. Yet, he wanted to hear from her lips that this marriage was what she wanted and so he goes to her and she confirms that she wants it, then she challenges him, taunts him and he almost loses his mind, which was just another reason to let her live her life without him. I was so proud of him. But after episode 10, I read producers saying that Daemon should not be loved by the public because he was evil and the chocking scene was him being what he always was. Bullshit! I realized they were going to do him dirty in season 2 so I almost did not watch it. And I only did because Matt Smith and the producers were saying that Daemon loves Rhaenyra deeply and they are connected, kindred spirits and that Daemon would do anything for her, and that's what I wanted to hear for the past 2 years, so I relented. His crying when he saw young Rhaenyra with Jaehaerys gave me hope. But then him beheading the version of her he loved the most/ loved him the most? Because he was jealous of his brother? And now him sleeping with Aemma or Alyssa? Like it doesn't matter who the woman is as long as she is a Targaryen queen? His "curiosity" for Alys? Challenging Rhaenyra's claim to become king and then she is "welcomed to join him as his (submissive) queen"? What is this? I want to believe Matt's words, I love the Daemon that he describes but that's not what I am watching right now.

You are one of my fave mutuals who I love seeing on my dash. I love reading your tags cuz they're so unhinged and you give out such nice compliments to people! It's cuz of you the Haladriel ship has gained one more member, you've successfully converted me. And your sets oh my gooood! Like there's so much I have to say about your sets, it feels like I'm about to explode with all my words right now! I started following you back when HOTD came out and when I first saw your ep1 set, I was so completely blown away that it made me want to watch it. Like before that, I had no intention of seeing it but your skills are so impressive that it changed my mindset.

And yes, I will put several of the ep sets here cuz I adore them so much, they are some of the best sets I've ever seen on this website. Some days, when I was at work I would open them just so I could stare at their beauty! Even while looking at your archive, I was amazed at how far you've come with your skills. You are a gift to the world with your loveliness and kindness, and I hope we can get even closer in the next year!

Rhaenyra Ep1 - How can I even describe this set? It's like you captured the sunlight and bottled it up within this absolute masterpiece. This is a 20/10 set, a total knockout. This is the kind of set that makes you feel grateful you have eyes. The amount of beauty leaping off the screen is insane.

Rhaenyra Ep2 - I feel like for this one I won't be able to convey all my feelings and awe so hope you can still understand my word barf. This set is so absolutely gorgeous, just mega ultra a-piece-of-heaven gorgeous. I still can't believe you graced us with this work of art. I want to give it a thousand kisses, I love it so much. From the drop-dead-gorgeous color combo, to your skills with blending and coloring these really dark and then really bright scenes. Like they should have hired you to be their editor.

Rhaenyra Ep3 - This peach and mint coloring looks so delicious, beyond sublime! I have no idea how you managed to color some of the scenes without it affecting the skin tone but you did it so beautifully that I shudder in pleasure. Here the blending looks extra impressive cuz I imagine it wasn't easy to combine these scenes especially in the carriage and the bloody hair. How do you do it?! Spare some talent please!

Rhaenyra Ep4 - This whole set looks so ravishing, it makes me want to hold it in my arms like Daemon wanted with Rhaenyra. Honestly, how did you manage to color these scenes?! This must have been done frame by frame for some of the gifs and I applaud your effort in doing this! It looks fantastic! The blending here is ingenious and the colors you chose work so well together! And my god the fontwork is just amazing! I love how you tried out a variety of different fonts for the sets and made them look so good! You are so freakin talented!

Rhaenyra Ep8 - Can I get a round of applause for Neve? Your extraordinary work in making this set so sexy, and your bombass blending-work here just shows off how incredible your talents are! The colors here look so scrumptious, just so fierce.

Rhaenyra Ep10 - I'm a huge fan with sets that have black and white as their focus but there's still some color left. Just something about it makes me go feral. Like this set, I was so mesmerized. And so impressed cuz this ep has so many bright scenes, I wouldn't even know where to start with trying to blend, but you did and made it look so epic!

HOTD Dragons and Their Riders - One of the best sets in the fandom, no contest. The amount of colors you managed to put into this and the use of limited scenes for some gifs, you are so creative. And not only is the coloring magnificient, the blending is top notch, like the level of awesomeness I aspire to be but the cherry on top is your fontwork and the little images that work so well with the scenes. I adore this rainbow-like set and it holds a special place cuz I am a huge fan of tinier gifs.

The Dragon has Three Heads - Didn't I just say I love tiny gifs? Well here's another set I love. The coloring here is extraordinary, it all looks so bright and pretty and the fact you had to use so many shows for this set in order to make it, your effort is felt and appreciated. But yeah your coloring skills are wowza!

Bridgerton - So I haven't yet seen this show but when I saw this set, I let out a gasp and stared at it for a few minutes cuz it is so stunning! The soft oranges look so lovely. Very heavenly and yet still holding some vibrancy and looks so pretty! And not only did you create wondrous blending for the colors but also for the bw, and it looks so incredible! And I adore that 3d gif with the bw side, the blending-work is just so coherent and cool. The fontwork is also once again, mwah!

Shadow & Bone - This is also another show that I haven't yet seen but it's very high on my watchlist so I can't wait till I finally see it and get to reblog this fandom's beautiful creations like this one here! D'you know I actually had to look up synonyms for 'gorgeous' because I was running out of words? Pretty colorings, amazing blending, awesome fontwork and images? Your sets are so attractive.

Daemyra Book/Show - It should come as no surprise that your Daemyra sets are some of my faves cuz I love them. And I also adore simpler sets where the coloring does most of the work. And the coloring is so superb, I love how the focus is on the orange. And I'm filled with feels cuz I love this duo so much!

Daemyra + Bridge Scene - Another great set where the coloring looks very natural but so pretty. And also a fan of funny sets that look nice! Also, the way this scene is set it makes your meme look 100% legit.

I’m so personally conflicted about Alysmond like both of them are interesting characters in their own right but the power imbalance and age difference makes me so uncomfortable I wont ever be able to root for them as a couple. And yeah it’s not like GRRM (or maybe HOTD? seeing Aemond’s current portrayal in the show) wants us to like them together (I don’t think GRRM ever cared about ships anyway cuz he’s not that kind of writer lol) but still. And as someone who saw their close friend in a relationship with someone 15 years older than them, Alysmond makes me kind of sick. HOWEVER if they make Alys the witch of Harrenhal that she’s rumored to be? I’m all for an “evil” sorceress (maybe really bewitching him) instead of a grown ass woman warming a boy’s bed (even tho she was told to be his ear prize 😬).

Sorry for these ramblings but that what I love about GRRM’s writing! Basically all of his characters are complex individuals (and all of F&B is written by people who don’t really know the truth which makes this more complicated), so I just hope HOTD writers don’t screw anything up more than they already did in S1 🤞🏻

im going to answer this is good faith you didn't realize this probably was not the ask to send someone whose blog makes it clear I am an alysmond enjoyer. in the future if you want to talk about why you don't like alysmond please make your own post. not trying to be rude but I don't want to open Tumblr and read an ask about someone not liking a dynamic I enjoy.

but I will clarify a few things.

on one hand, I do not think any pairing in hotd (or GRRM's works) is meant to be romantic, especially in hotd. alysmond is not the first unhealthy dynamic nor is it the last in the book and show. these characters are all morally grey and complex, which makes it very interesting character wise and with ships.

fire and blood is written as a history book and not even as a credible source so honestly, I like a lot of the changes they've made so far. they didn't make aemond a psychopath in the show, giving him complexities and more depth, which I loved. I hope they do the same for alys. point is, we don't know how alysmond will look dynamic wise but if s1 is anything to go off of I think we will get a more complex and interesting dynamic.

the age thing is murky because Aemond is 19 when the war starts and 20 when he dies in fire and blood, but in the show Ewan Mitchell is about 25 and no one can say how old he is. I won't bother arguing that because Ewan looks a lot older than the 19 years Aemond is meant to be in ep10. Gayle is 33 I believe, so the age difference between them will look a lot smaller than it is in the book. but like the show different changed is Alicent and Rhaenyra's ages and dynamics, I would not be upset if they did change this dynamic of Alys and Aemond a little.

like other people who enjoy alysmond, I like this ship not for super romantic purposes (sure, I enjoy the fanart and cannot wait to see them on screen), but because they are just interesting characters. it is the same reason I find helaegon intriguing, but don't ship them romantically. I think looking for romantic pairings without fault, canon or otherwise, in hotd will lead to conflicts. these are not real people, they are fictional characters who were not written to be moral characters without fault.

there is lots more I could add but im tired and going to leave it at that.

I can't believe that Ewan Mitchell's first line in House of The Dragon was "I don't give a shit about tournaments."

I was stuck (not exactly; the best word to describe it is probably 'fixated') on the soft personality he/his character had when he played Osferth in The Last Kingdom.

Then his first line in HoTD barged inside and said "First things first. This isn't the baby monk you remember. This is a one-eyed Targaryen and he's mean as fuck."

I'm yet to see the 9th & 10th episodes – don't come at me if Aemond has a spontaneous change of nature during the last two episodes.

Even if he doesn't, I feel the need to point out that some of the fanfics of him (but also applies to a lot of ruthless or bloodthirsty or jackass characters) I see tend to portray him as weirdly...soft.

I suppose it's nice to see mean characters have a sweet side. Aemond's behavior in fanfics probably just seems out-of-character for me since I haven't seen him interact with others much, aside from that one spoiler from ep10 (oopsies) related to his dragon and one of his cousins.

I hated Daemon

Him grabbing Rhaenyra by the throat, not supporting her even though she just lost a child and a father, trying to take over as if it is his right and bringing up his ambitions about sitting in the iron throne, among others, are the reasons that just made me dislike him so much.

Tbh I appreciated his character before (but wasn't really a fan, also knowing some facts about the future) but now the guy has become plain abnoxious.
