I saw a take on a TT that was talking about the new cover; and they said that it's odd that Horikoshi did this(specifically, Izuku cradling Katsuki and looking feral) when "that's not how it happens in the manga," and furthermore says,

"In the manga, Izuku doesn't think about Katsuki for longer than like a minute, doesn't seem bothered by it for too long" or similar so they don't know why this cover should hold the weight that it does, essentially.

Because in their claim, Izuku didn't CARE about Katsuki's death for more than a second.

AND LIKE

They have also claimed that they like the relationship of BKDK(not romantically, but otherwise) and I am like HOW can that be your takeaway if you appreciate anything about their relationship ??

We all KNOW Izuku lost his marbles at the SIGHT of Katsuki. We all KNOW that he was raging out of control again, and we all KNOW that Mirio was the only one able to get close to Izuku to tell him that Katsuki would be okay. (And what would have happened if he DIDN'T get through to Izuku??)

We all saw Izuku have to pull himself together and then put himself behind that wall of BW, behind his scarf, behind his Quirk, and FOCUS himself on Shigaraki.

He was VERY MUCH BOTHERED by Katsuki's death. That's not subtext. That's TEXT.

What part of this entire STORY signals that Izuku wasn't bothered??

I JUST-- OOF.

Like, the theme here is that Izuku supresses ALL of this trauma and possibly other feelings that he views as "gross" or not something he can explore rn. If you don't know what Izuku looks like when he's holding back his real emotions for the sake of the current mission, you're not reading the text. You're not seeing the visuals. There's different interpretations but I don't think this one is really up for debate.

Izuku was EXTREMELY AFFECTED, DEVASTATINGLY AFFECTED by Katsuki's death, and the cover is emblematic of that.

ANYWAY sorry had to vent about that.

It's such a minor gripe but I hate it when people in fanon content make it so that the giant swelterstone in the Dunes has a habit of dimming/being covered up at night. It just. Feels like it detracts from the whole "ecological disaster" deal if the swelterstone can just be covered up (why not keep it constantly covered in that case? Then monsters can grow greenery in the Dunes and restore it back to the Meadows). And the Underground is supposed to be a stagnant environment (I think Alphys said that there's no real weather in the Underground. Also the Underground is literally underground. Of course it's not gonna experience weather like the Surface). Having a 24-hour "sun" that bakes the land dry and withers crops and throws off everyone's circadian rhythm feels more in line with the whole "hopeless, unchanging Underground" situation than an imitation sun that "rises" and "sets."

MOTHER SERIES TUMBLR EVENT?! ASK-A-PALOOZA INTEREST CHECK

Hello mother series enjoyers!!! Or, more specifically…. hello askblog enjoyers!!!! this event is for you!!

So, here's some background from me: I've wanted to make an askblog for a little while, but the idea of dedicating myself to a single concept/au/whatever is a little daunting (plus I would worry about how long I could keep it going for, etc etc)

Then, after seeing [this post] (hi zhari hi nana!!), my eyes were opened to the idea of temporary askblogs. And I thought wow, that sounds fun and much less daunting :D

SO THEN I thought: why not make a whole event about it? Where a bunch of people turn their blogs into mother series askblogs for a little while!! (You wouldn't have to actually change your whole blog theme of course, just have your askbox open and give some indication to askers that you're participating!!) You could also interact/rp with other askblogs/people participating and it'd be a grand ol' time overall!!

Would anyone be interested in an event like this?

hi everyone i slept for an hour before getting back up at 6 to finish packing everything away and i’ve only teared up 3 times bc as we left the ditches were already full of rain water and the road was nearly inaccessible bc the surge was already high and we never found our cat so i just beg and plead that if he’s still out there he miraculously survives anyway let me not tear up again ummm we screwed a big ass board to the door lol and uhhh we were like this big silly caravan the way we all headed out in 4 cars (we’re gonna park 2 with half our shit further north and take my car and my sister’s car to her house) and led a line of other cars but everyone was being nice and no one was speeding or getting mad at us for going slow since the rain and wind have already started idk why i’m saying all this except that it is helping me process things i guess aksjakshkf anyway i still have a 2 hour car ride but this time i don’t have to drive <- small victories :3
