JRA Animatronic Thoroughbreds [And One Pony]

Hello, I'm Mod Horse and for my first post this year, I'll be sharing these AMAZING animatronic horses created to promote the JRA [Japan Racing Association].

The white thoroughbred and his pony friend were displayed at the Shiodome in Tokyo during 2019, while the chestnut was/is displayed at the Equine Cultural Affairs Foundation Of Japan. The black horse and the bay horse featured models astride them [I believe the white one did as well, though I'm having difficulty finding images] and were featured at Tokyo Station, evidently. The description of this video featuring the black and bay states they had "warm breath and twitching skin" included, which would be a hell of a feature!

I've linked the videos featuring these gorgeous creations in motion in the paragraph above, so definitely check them out! They seem to have been reused and refeatured here in there across the time between their rollout and now, so there's quite a few different photos of them out there.

They're incredibly stunning and they are truly lifelike, a difficult task on anything less than a feature film budget. Or maybe anything less than the JRA's special events publicity fund! They've funded some truly amazing collaborations and events, one of which I'll be sharing sooner or later, work schedule allowing....

god one of the best character designs of all time is you make a funny creature and you have it go 👀

#I'm in love with the way tove jansson drew horses #they have like. crocodilian snouts #I was toying with adding marvin the m.artian bc that's a killer design too But #the pupils are not as a dilated that's the important detail #they have to look competely blown out and vacant #also I have to admit it. the designs of security breach are really fantastic. like those glam animatronics.. they are so cool ngl #if it weren't for the scott scuzz over the whole thing I'd prob check more of it out

#i know i wouldnt shut up about this being a potential rocking horse but then i remembered how much i love hasbro's furreal friends horse #animatronic ''s'mores''(tm).#my original vision was to combine both horses since butterscotch is more iconic; so i was going to go for a palamino paint. but then #of course it just became the spotted uni ): therefore my chocolate-tone bias won out. sorry butterscotch </3 #i did try to reference butterscotch's tones in the eyes & the wings but it clashed too much so it was a pretty flop effort ):#neopets #neotag #uni #gollydraws

Hey, love! Thanks for the ask!

Once again, I am burdened by the lack of animals in my stories. 😞

In The Animatronic Saga, there is mention of a few animals, by the way of street cats that Jade has seen and shared food with and Gwen's mare, who was my horse girl insert of course.

Other than that, pets don't really make an appearance. That's partially due to the plot veering sharply away from animal-friendly, but also I think ij part to the economic and housing crises among my worlds. Neither is friendly to animals, either.
