The Superman "hopemaxxing" memes that have cropped up as of late are the best lol. Turning a format built around at the very least vaguely venerating "alpha" and "sigma male" bullshit into memes celebrating not just how Superman should truly be, an empathetic and kind-hearted character who does everything he can to be a light in the darkness for anyone who needs it, but also just celebrating being a good and selfless person in general is so amazing dude.

Did a drive thru the neighborhood in my 2003HondaElement with the windows down on a fresh 80*F morning to get an iced coffee, listening to LinkinPark, Live's Throwing Copper, and Alice in Chains Jar of Flies. I think it's absolutely amazing just how kind, wonderful, and joyful we can be to one another; friends, families, strangers, enemies, and more. It's just so very moving to the point I get a little misty eyed when thinking of how we, mankind, have such an amazing capacity to aspire for greatness with one another while retaining humility and decency.

Folks, like Christ said, love one another as you love yourself. Raise one another up rather than putting eachother down. If we do this, than we save the world.

The "what if Superman evil" stories I've seen like The Boys and Invincible were initially interesting to me, however of the 2 Invincible is the only one to keep my interest since it creates its own characters (even if the power sets are borrowed) and tries to do interesting things with them. That all being said, I don't think either story would read the same way if the original Superman didn't exist, since without that frame of reference of an all round good character, the other 2 stories are basically just powerful person being evil simply because they can and that's not really entertaining to me, and as such I will continue hopemaxxing Superman until the day I die.

Superman is an incredibly kind and tender character. (If he’s not being written that way, then he’s not being written well.) He inspires hope not just through his heroics, but also through his kindness toward other people. That’s his thing. Don’t you DARE call tenderness a “weakness.” Get your toxic masculinity the hell away from me and go read a badly written Batman comic if you want a “tough” male character.
