The story itself is called Retrograde and Sam and Val are the two main characters!

(Brace yourself it's kinda long!)

Val:

Personality wise he's pretty reserved, doesn't really say much unless needed, he's more open with people he's close to

Though he may look moody, he's actually just awkward

Currently he's working as a bounty hunter to pay his rent and keep the license but really it's just a title and he just goes around accepting odd jobs that pay him

He doesn't kill people so he instead chooses to beat them up real bad and turn them in

Val isn't his real name, it's just a nickname. Barely anyone knows his real name aside from one or two people.

Doesn't have the best past (original i know but its plot relevant) but he's working through his mistakes and trying to make amends with himself and others

He was found drifting in the river on the verge of death but was miraculously revived by a doctor who ran a small clinic nearby

He got into bounty hunting because he could get a license that works as a valid form of id so he can rent an apartment and have a bank account while also being able to hide his identity (loopholes)

His eyes are actually not normal and are in fact a genetic condition he was born with! He gets a lotta stares and comments for it but he doesn't really care atp

Actually ridiculously good at dancing, he won a lot of competitions for ballroom dancing when he was in highschool and he could've gone professional if it weren't for certain other reasons

Because of his weirdly unique talent, he's really agile which makes him good at close hand combat

He's the one who drives both him and Sam around because he's the only one who has a hoverbike and can drive

Sam:

He's gonna have a longer description cause he's pretty plot relevant for the beginning

He's a pretty easy going guy, in many ways the opposite Val

Easy to get along with, most of the time he's pretty chill so he doesn't find it too hard to talk to people

Not really an extrovert tho, somewhere in the middle but still social if that makes sense

Val found him in an underground cave sleeping in a pod like thing while on a bounty

Somehow he managed to open the pod and wake Sam up, only to find out he has no recollection of anything that's happened to him nor who he is or his name

They decided to call him 'Sam' for now because it was printed on the tag hanging from his left ear

The last thing Sam remembers before waking up is a giant flash and burning buildings

Based on the weird room, sleeping pod, and the weird suit he's wearing, the two figure out that Sam's been asleep for a lot longer than he thought (more than 500 years)

He's actually from the Previous Era, which was an old civilization a lot more technologically advanced than the Current Era but was destroyed by a cataclysmic explosion (wonder what caused it?)

So Sam is technically many many years old atp but is still mentally the same age as Val

As you can guess he doesn't really take this very well

Turns out there was another pod next to Sam's pod that's been opened meaning that he may not be alone

Sam decides he wants to recover his lost memories and find out what happened to him and also find the person in the other pod, or at least what happened to them

Since he has no idea what the current era is like he enlists Val's help in exchange for helping him pay his rent.

He decides to keep his true identity a secret to not draw attention

He's actually really good at fighting and can hold up with Val pretty well so the two become partners

He's got these strange metal implants inside him, the most visible one around his neck which he's a bit self conscious about.

He doesn't know why it's there but it might have something to do with the blue ring above his head

The halo only turns off when he sleeps/lies down but seems to be above his head no matter what (he doesn't like it cause it draws a lot of attention)

His eyes are really unnatural and actually glow in the dark, another thing that freaks him out

His hair is naturally coral pink and not dyed (which is also a bit strange but not as much as the other things in his opinion)

Sam can't really read well, he's not sure if it's because he never learnt to read or the language has changed so much since he went to sleep, he's also not great at math

Kinda thanks to this he's also not great at budgeting and sometimes spends a lot of money on useless things that piques his interest (which causes him and val to do more bounties, much to val's dismay)

Even though he can be kind of an idiot sometimes, he does his best to fix his mistakes and make it up to people

Weapon of choice is dual guns!

Things he likes:

Sweet drinks (he's got a bad addiction to boba, milkshakes, and smoothies)

Arcade games (sucks at the fighting games but really good at rhythm games)

Astronomy (he knows nearly every constellation and its position by memory, it's kinda scary)

Bugs (they're both screwed i know)

Some other fun facts !!

They live together in Val's apartment, they alternate sleeping on the couch and bed since Val felt bad

Even though Val said he'd only help Sam if he helped pay his rent, he actually didn't mind helping him for free and only added that because Sam insisted

Val is the only one who can cook out of the two, however that doesn't mean he's good at it, so they usually just order out most of the time

The world they live in is a mix between futuristic and post apocalyptic, yeah there's still technology but it's not as great as it was before

Part of this was because after the collapse of the previous era, rebuilding took a crazy long time and there was a big power struggle until the current government took control

There was a 4 year long civil war that happened and ended around 5 years before Sam woke up

There's currently a large supply shortage so for the past few decades so some technology has regressed

Their world is technically an alternate universe of our world, the divergent point happened around the late 1940s, I could go into it more but it's not that plot relevant but it is the reason they don't have a lot of today's modern technology despite it being many years into the future

~the party already knows about yours and Steve's relationship and even before you and Steve got together, they made it pretty clear that Steve is the mom and you're the dad. Plain and simple

With everything that the party member went through at a young age, you and Steve always cared and protected them with any chance y'all get. With that being said, Steve made it a monthly thing to have the kids (including Robin and Eddie) sleepover for at least a night just so they can enjoy themselves young and to also ease Steve's paranoia of not knowing when another type of monster will appear out of the blue. You didn't have a problem with the idea of course mostly since you loved the kids as if they were your own kids but it gets tiring after a while, mostly when it's in your own home.

Tossing and turning in bed while hearing loud chatters in the distance. Moving around to grab a hold of Steve and hopefully cuddle back to sleep but you feel the other side of the bed empty.

Is it the 24th already?

Groggily getting out of bed still half asleep and walking to the bathroom to freshen up and get ready for one hell of a day. After wearing something more appropriate and becoming wide awake, you mentally prepare yourself to walk out into the chaos. When you open the door, everything suddenly becomes clearer and louder. You see Erica and Dustin arguing about what channel to put on. Max and Robin are practically attacking Lucas for his poor taste in comics. Eddie, Mike, and Will try explaining d&d to El (who clearly is not interested). Then you see the main person that you wanted to spend your morning with, but they were clearly occupied and busy. Already heading to the kitchen to your lover to say good morning while giving a peck on the lips.

"Every month...every month, I don't even know why I'm surprised anymore" you say while looking at the hoard of people in the living room talking over each other. "I swear they're little geniuses but when it comes to being on time, they're rather late or too early and today is one of those days." Steve says while mixing a bowl of pancakes batter. "Remember you wanted this, so you can't fully blame them." You say while warming up a cup of coffee, "oh no no no, you can't partially blame me for this, don't act as if you didnt want them around either" Steve says while looking from the pancake batter then to you with a small smile. Okay maybe you also found comfort in having the kids around including Robin and Eddie, it feels more home warming but it's the mess they leave after. "Well...I'm not sure what I can say to that other than calling dibs to drop off the kids" you say frantically before leaving the kitchen and into the living room while hearing Steve trying to call you back in the kitchen.

Once you step in the living room, you weren't sure if you wanted to go back and continue the conversation that you just had with Steve or try to at least have the kids calm down and lower their voices. "Jesus I don't know how you deal with this nerd, all he does is shove facts down your throat!" Erica practically yells at you before walking away from Dustin who is hot on her tail. "Oh IM THE NERD, you practically have the whole pony lore merged in your girly little brain" Dustin yells back at Erica while also passing by you and saying a quiet good morning (which you say good morning back).

"okay well let's leave that to Steve.." you say under your breath before walking to the little closet room in yours and Steve's house to pull out blankets and more pillows already preparing for tonight and maybe for a game that will last till night out. "Hey!" Will said pretty loudly in your ear which had you flinching a little, "Oh my God, what happened, I thought you were with Eddie and Mike? Did you forget your toothbrush again? Or was it your underwear again? You know Steve doesn't really mind besides he barley knows." You ramble and ask multiple questions to Will and whispering the last part knowing that it happened once and he trusted in only telling you. "WHAT no I'm fine, everything's fine, I just wanted to help out a little you know since it's the least we can do" Will says in a soft tone. "Oh no it's okay honey... Well you know what, maybe a little help wouldn't hurt right?" You say hesitantly, knowing how Steve gets when the kids actually help around. He tends to take control but not in a mean way more of a 'just rest my child and I'll take care of you' typa way. "Okay I need you to carry this... And this, and hold this one for me please....oh can't forget Max's..." You say while stacking pillows and blankets in Will's arms which slowly starts piling up to the point that his face is no longer able to be seen.

"is that it?..." Will asks while trying to peep his head out a little just to see if there are any more blankets, "umm....no you know what that's about it, good job buddy" you say before patting Will's shoulder indicating that he should follow you. Both you and Will walk to the living room to find everyone gone then you hear a faint voice counting. "Okay that's 2,4,6,8....8?" Steve says after counting heads to make sure everyone was sat at the table ready to eat although with so much noise and talking going around he can't seem to know if he counted wrong. But just as Steve suspected, he did count wrong as 2 more people walked into the dining room. "Ah there you guys are, okay so that's 10 in total" Steve says with a relief but his cheery tone went away as he saw Will's bottom half since the other half was covered with piles of blankets and pillows. "Babe we talked about this, if you need help call me, now look what you have done to the boy, I can't even see him" Steve says dramatically. You let out a sigh as you take the pillows and blankets from Will and told him to sit down and eat, "it's fine babe he offered and I took it, it's not gonna hurt him. And besides you seemed a little busy so I didn't want to disturb you." You say trying to calm a dramatic Steve down since you always are the one to just take things with a flow while Steve is the one to control the flow.

"I'm not gonna tell you again, if you ever need help just call me over and I'll be there, okay?" Steve says while looking down at you waiting for a response, "sure." You say just to please Steve, "good, now sit down and eat before it gets cold" Steve says with a more cheery tone as he presses a kiss on your lips.

"UNOOO!!" Eddie exclaims very loudly which caused the kids to groan since they know that Eddie's cheating but they just can't prove it. Everyone was currently sitting on the floor around the little coffee table in the middle of the living room. Everyone decided to play uno after a long argument on how we should play it due to Dustin being competitive and wanting a specific way to play like whether or not we can jump in or pair up with someone. Everyone told him that we're just gonna play uno for the fun of it with no arguments and no competition, which never happened. Steve and you ended up teaming up and showing each other y'all's cards, Erica started becoming aggressive towards Lucas who kept +4 her. "Is there a problem between you and me cause last time I checked, we're blood related and BLOOD RELATED PEOPLE DONT BETRAY EACHOTHER!" Erica screams in Lucas's face while Lucas laughs at her overreacting. "Woah okay Erica calm down, here take my +4 and you'll get him next time when we reverse." Steve says to Erica while passing the card across the table to Erica who simply denied it and said that she didn't want his pity. "Let her fuss it out babe, she'll get over it" you say while laughing a little since you were Erica's babysitter at some point of time, so you knew how long Erica's little tantrums would last.

As the game ended with Robin somehow winning and multiple arguments breaking out. We all went out separate ways as it was almost time for dinner. You and Steve both walk into the kitchen just to finally enjoy y'all's personal time (even though y'all live together). With you deciding that you don't wanna cook, and Steve not knowing what to cook, you both agreed to order Chinese food. It was cheap and the most agreeable among the party members. Pizza was always complicated for the party, Lucas liked olives while Robin was allergic, and El liked pineapple on hers which Eddie completely despised to be in sight of pineapple pizza. Everyone had their own pizza preference that was just too much to order all together but Chinese food is what got everyone to enjoy (although you weren't a fan of Chinese food but you'll eat it for the kids).

Steve finished the order for Chinese food that we will soon have to pick up but in the mean time it was just you and Steve. Steve and you. Both embracing and enjoying each other's company even when yall aren't doing anything but it just felt so comfortable and loving. You sat on the counter with your feet dangling and Steve between your thighs while looking up at you and admiring you as if you were an angel. "You ever think about having kids" Steve asks with a foolish grin across his face, "woah, a very unexpected question at the moment" you say giggling but slowly stopped when you saw Steve still waiting for an answer, "I don't know, maybe,...actually yeah but as long as it's your kids" you say also with a foolish grin which made Steve blush "you know I actually want 6 kids, I don't remember telling you that" Steve says looking deep in your eyes, "oh trust me I remember you specifically telling me how many and what their names would be" you exclaim while rolling your eyes playfully since you have indeed heard multiple times and it's not like your complaining, infact you loved the idea of Steve also seeing his future with you and you guys are only 20 years old. Steve asks before he even locks both of y'all's pinkies together "whatever makes you happy babe" you tell Steve with a toothy grin knowing that it would cheer Steve up, he then locks both of y'all's pinkies together and gives you a very passionate kiss that caused you to let out a little giggle in the middle of it.

"oh dude, I thought Robin said no public pda" Mike exclaims with a face of disgust before walking and purposely bumping into Steve's back to get a cold water bottle from the fridge. "Dude we're trying our best to keep it private", Steve says in a very judging tone, "you know Mike, me and Steve have seen you and El kiss but you don't see us making a big scene, have you tried growing up a little?" You say to Mike cause this isn't the first time that you and Mike have had this conversation about pda. "if it requires me growing up and becoming anything like y'all, I'd rather stay young and immature" Mike says before walking off but not before steve tells him to watch his tone. "I'm pretty sure he just called us old in so many different ways" you say to Steve, "he just doesn't get it cause he doesn't know what REAL love is, all he knows is young love....and I'm not old, trust I'm never gonna look old either" Steve says before fixing his hair with a pouty face which you laugh at cause you know how dramatic Steve gets when it comes to his age and specifically his looks.

"oh stop whining, we all know that you're gonna get grey hairs by soon mostly with all the stress the kids keep giving you" Robin suddenly comes in the kitchen startling you both just a little. "Okay first of all shut up and don't jinx it, and second who was talking to you?" Steve says in a very sassy tone since his hair is "his best feature" so God forbid anything happens to it. You let out a breathy laugh as Robin kept adding more gas into the fire. "Oh what's so funny huh, you do know you're gonna end up with grey hairs too so we'll both look 50 in our 30s" Steve says which causes you to stop laughing and before you can say anything Robin practically speaks for you, "uh no she won't, cause the kids are scared of her so they always act right around her but with you Steve, oh boy do they give you hell. In fact I'm pretty sure they only listen to y/n" Robin says with a small smirk on her lips. "Oh that's so not true!" Steve says raising his voice a little to state that he completely disagrees with Robin, "yea it is, remember at Byers house during fall, when you know the whole incident happened." You say trying to get Steve to recall what exactly happened that night, "yea what about it?" Steve says still not remembering how that night has anything to do with what they were walking about.

Fall night 1984:

You and Steve were trusted to take care of the kids. It wasn't anything new to you when it came to having full responsibility of the kids. It practically came as a free side job for you since you protected the kids without any questions asked or needed. For Steve on the other hand, his first time taking care of 5 kids at once and he felt like there was so much responsibility in his hands. He just felt the need to take full control due to the fear of not being able to know what the kids are doing 24/7 at the moment.

With Mike and Lucas arguing about Mike panicking and Dustin having Steve shove a demo-dog in ms.byers fridge it all felt hectic to you but nothing that you couldn't handle. The only calm one that was there was max due to it being her first rodeo and completely confused about the whole situation. Suddenly all the kids start making up a plan on how to help El and everyone else that's heading towards the lab that's filled with deadly creatures. While hearing this plan Steve completely shuts it down. "Yea and then we all die" Steve says making it clear that he totally disapproves of their idea, "well that's one point of view" you say in a sarcastic way, "no y/n that's not one point of view, that's a fact" Steve says with an attitude mostly since you're the other adult that's supposed to help him out but isn't even backing him up. You then raise your hands in surrender and give Steve a mocking face before going back to sweeping up glass with max. Mike then walks off with everyone following right behind him, you and Max decide to forget about the glass pieces since there're definitely way more important things to focus on.

With Mike making a master plan of setting up the underground base on fire and having Dustin,max, and Lucas add onto the idea Steve finally attempts to put his foot down. "We're staying here, ON THE BENCH, and we're waiting for the starting team to do their job, does everybody understand that" Steve says in a demanding tone, "THIS ISN'T A STUPID SPORTS GAME?!" Mike complains to Steve but Steve still stood his ground "I said does everybody understand that, I need a yes.." Steve says pointing his fingers at the kids waiting for a response. "We don't need to listen to you" Mike says still annoyed at Steve, "okay you know what, that's enough...y/n control your kids" steve finally starts talking to you but all you did was respond with crossing your arms and shrugging your shoulders as a sign that there's really not much to say. "Oh seriously you're in on this too!?" Steve exclaims in a flabbergasted tone, "I don't know what to say Steve, it sounds like a really good plan". "Yea a good plan to get us killed". "We're not gonna die okay they know what they're doing!". "Yes imma let a bunch of kids guide me into saving the world, yea sure why not jump off a cliff while I'm at it!",

you and Steve bicker back and forth till you finally give in just to calm Steve down and to get him to shut up, "alright kids you heard him, this plan just might get us killed, steve and only steve thinks its best for us to stay put here" you say in a very rude tone to show that you also dont approved of steves idea, "but-" lucas wanted to say something but went completely quiet when you gave him a look to not talk back "we understand". "fine". "Sure". "Whatever" was the only response you got from the kids as they all got up from the floor but completely halted in their steps when they heard a very loud engine outside...

"okay that doesn't even count, they kids were getting used to me at that time so they just don't understand how scary I can get, they listen to me. I know they do it's just y'all aren't around or y'all don't remember" Steve says still trying to defend himself which causes you and Robin to laugh at Steve's attempt. "You're right that's one of the many times that the kids listened to y/n but if you want I can go on and on and on" Robin says trying to rile Steve up and laughing through her sentence, "okay you know what I think it's time for us to pick up the food" Steve says before walking into the living room filled with many people that just seem to be in their own world, "alright who wants to come with me and get the food?.." steve says loud enough for then to hear but there still was no response given to him, you weren't even sure if they heard him. "HEY! Who wants to go with Steve and pick up the food!?" You say loudly which caused everyone's attention on you and still no response but instead everyone is looking at each other to see who's willing to volunteer and go with Steve, "no one? Okay... Dustin go with Steve" you say short and simple which caused Dustin to let out a dramatic groan, "why do I gotta go, make Mike go or max go" Dustin whines to you, "no complaints now get up and get the food. NOW!?" you reply to Dustin's complaints and say the last part loudly since you didn't see him move until you raised your voice.

You then walked up to Steve giving him a pat on the shoulder and a kiss on the cheek before walking to the bathroom. Everyone goes back to their own world again and Steve still is a little mad at the fact that the kids do only listen to you and never Steve.

Everyone's back at the dining table and there is not a single moment that's silent. Everything is everywhere. Things being passed around in front of everyone, people calling other people's attention from across the table and loud laughter filling the air. It didn't bother you at all, okay maybe a little but you also don't know how else you would prefer the kids to be.

You suddenly snap out of your little thoughts when max mentions your name. "Y/n literally wears the pants of the relationship" max tells Steve, who is still flabbergasted at the fact that the kids listen to only you, "no she doesn't, I think that me and her both are equal in our relationship, right babe" Steve then turns to you asking for your input and opinion, "max we're equal there's no one that wears the pants okay...but I do have to take the lead sometimes" you say the last part quietly but not quite enough for Steve to not hear. "Okay first of all you don't take the lead ALL the time and I wouldn't even put it as you taking the lead, more like you knowing what's better" Steve says defending himself, "oh so she does take the lead I knew it" Eddie then chimes in the conversation out of nowhere, "no she doesn't are you guys even listening to what I'm saying?!" Steve says in a frantic way since he feels as if he's being attacked.

"Wait you're telling me that throughout all the shit we've been through, y/n has always been the decision maker?!" Eddie says in a shocked tone from connecting dots in his mind, "what no of course I make decisions too, you guys act as if I don't do anything!?" Steve raises his voice slightly which causes max and Eddie to laugh out loudly which also causes everyone else's conversation to cut off and wanting to know what's so funny. It honestly seems as if she wears the pants in the relationship" Eddie says while still laughing, this causes others who have been listening to laugh too. "I think we all made it clear that y/n wears the pants, I mean like look at them" max says while gesturing her hands toward me and Steve which causes us to look at each other up and down.

"It's like Steve is the mom and y/n is the dad can we all make that clear" Robin says and everyone else agrees with a small response. "Wait what?" You say a little confused on how the subject can change fast but not the topic which was y'all two, you and Steve being the target and center of the conversation. "Yea I mean you guys are like an old married couple that love each other, I think that's pretty obvious right?" Lucas says that also has everyone else agreeing with him. "Steve is so strict and paranoid like a mom and y/n is so chill and a floater like a dad." Mike adds to Lucas's statement that causes Erica to butt in, "Steve yells at me for not taking my shoes off when I walk in, y/n doesn't even bat an eye about it" Erica's comment left Steve flabbergasted. This had Steve more aware of how motherly he's been acting through the past years. "So I'm the lame, no fun boring mom while y/n is the cool fun dad?!?" Steve asks as if clarification to make sure that what they're saying to him is correct. "Pretty much". "Yea honestly". "if the show fits". "Yea" was the response Steve gets from the kids, "that's so not true I can be fun. Matter in fact I'm totally fun it's just not with y'all. I'm so fun that you guys wouldn't be able to handle me." Steve rants about how fun he is just to prove that he's not a boring mom but that doesn't seem to get to the kids, "that's exactly what a mom would say" Dustin then says to stop Steve from going on and on about "how fun he is", and this time it left Steve silent, infact it left the whole table silent waiting to see what else Steve has left to say but clearly he had nothing.

The silence caused you to let out a little snort of laughter which caused everyone to look at you. Seeing Steve get terrorized by a bunch of kids was too funny to hold in that Steve himself laughed. With you and Steve laughing this caused everyone else to laugh along. Everyone then went back to their regular conversation as if nothing happened.

You then looked at Steve with a cocky grin, "I'm their favorite parent" you say while smirking at him, "don't start" Steve says while rolling his eyes playfully and chuckling.

With everything that has happened in the last 15 hours, the party members calmly agreed to end the day off with a movie. Robin, max, Erica, and El had the couch while everyone else had the floor. The girls wanted you to be on the couch with them but you wanted to end the day with you being in Steve's arms. "Okay everyone brushed their teeth?" Steve asks before he gets himself comfortable and sitting on the floor next to you, "yes MOM" Will says in a joking way which caused Steve to let out a huff then laugh a little. "Come on guys leave him alone, lord knows how many grey hairs you're going to give him by 30" you say in a teasing tone that caused everyone to laugh. "Oooo you're lucky I love you" Steve says after turning off all the light and putting the movie on and laying next to you.

The movie goes on for a while until everyone is out cold. All the junk they ate today completely drained them out. "You know I don't mind being the mom anymore" Steve says all of a sudden, "really? Why's that?" You say a little curious about the sudden change of opinion, "it lets me know that the kids know that I care for them even if it means I'm not fun." Steve says in a low voice trying not to wake everyone up, "I think they already know that you care for them. They just say that to get a rise out of you", you say letting out a breathy laugh that you covered with your mouth. "At least they aren't scared of me" Steve says trying to make himself feel better, "well at least they think I'm fun" you reply back in an instant to Steve's remark. "At least we're viewed as their parents" Steve says looking into your eyes with a boyish grin. "You know what, you're right, at least they look up to us" you reply back to Steve before leaning in to kiss him which Steve kissed back in an instant.

"WHY IS IT ALWAYS ME?!?!" Mike exclaims in a loud tone since he just caught you and Steve making out AGAIN.

SLOW BURN ENEMIES TO LOVERS FIC IN THE WORKS BABYYYYYY~

I've decided to start working on a new fic that will hopefully be out this weekend!! It's a Ellie Williams x F!Reader x Abby Anderson love triangle - reader being in the middle of it! Here is a photo I edited of said story. It's titled "Torn." (More descriptions of the story below!!)

In this story you and Ellie are both Superheroes! (This ones for the comic nerds most defffff). Abby is the villain hehehe~ It will include angst, fluff, smut and dark themes (I'm putting everything in this bitch). So it will be 18+ no minors and ageless blogs are welcome to this story - or any of my content for that matter!

I haven’t made up any hero names so I’m just going to use their regular names for this 🫡🫡

Here's a brief summary below!!

You and Ellie are one unstoppable superhero couple, constantly being in the public eye has sky rocketed you both to stardom. To the public you both seem to be an extremely skilled fighting duo. You wielding the ability of Psionics. Being able to move matter, read minds, teleport and see events before they happen. Whilst your beautiful, loved by all, girlfriend has super strength more powerful than any entity in the universe that is paired perfectly with her ability to fly. She is a natural born leader. Being the head of all heroes comes with great responsibility she doesn't take lightly.

You both fight crime and take on whatever challenges come your way to keep Seattle safe. The biggest threat to you all is none other than Abby. A force not to be reckoned with, her ability is to shape shift into anyone she pleases. This along with the power to wield the abilities of anyone she shifts into makes her a dangerous opponent. Her mind is set on one thing, making sure there are no more heroes left.

Abby isn't like the rest of society. She can see right through the little while lies of all the heroes. They're not the saviors the public perceives them to be. If she can be true to her wicked ways, not hiding who she truly is then why can't they? They don't care about the people they save. They only care for the cameras and flashing lights. The praise they get is laughable. All they do is fool the masses. It disgusts her.

You knew this all too well though. Having to deal with Ellie behind the scenes was enough to know how fake everything and everyone was. The duo everyone has known to love and obsess over is not the duo they think they know. Ellie is selfish and cruel. She won't let anything or anyone - including you - stop her from being the best there is.

What will happen when you're face to face with true danger, head to head with none other than Abby. Will Abby see you as the others or will she peel back the layers to recognize that your true intent is good. Will you be corrupted by her ways when she shows you what you could be instead? Will you finally accept the dark thoughts that have been clouding your mind since you were young? Will you truly understand Abby's true intentions? Or will you be just like the rest of them? 🎆 HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE! 🎆 With the new year just around the corner I thought I'd share some of my favourite pieces from this year, do some goals and some thank yous. 2023 has been PHENOMENAL! First off, goals! I'd love to keep doing what I'm doing, genuinely! It's been a dream. I want to do more of that, more art for you guys, more commissions, more stickers and posters. It's been so much fun! I wanna move and get my own place, get life started!

And, of course, I'd love to work on something official for Doctor Who, Big Finish or Titan Comics. Of course, everyone knows that they're my biggest loves and mean more than anything to me so one day, hopefully, I'll get the chance to put my little stamp on the Whoniverse. 2024, here's hoping!

Goals out of the way, time for the thank yous! The first one goes out to everyone that has supported me this year to help my accounts thrive! I've done more this year than I ever thought possible. 2022 was really rough for me and this time last year I really just couldn't see the silver linings but everyone that has ordered a commission, bought a sticker/poster, liked, shared, followed or interacted with my Art over 2023 has made everything in my life now possible. So THANK YOU SO MUCH! I could never have dreamed that this would be my job even a year ago. Wow.

Next, of course, my friends! My friends on here and elsewhere. You guys are the best. It's so lovely to have people who support me and I can have fun and shared interests with. It's such a gift! I hope that we only get to know eachother better as the years go on.

ACTOR AU SAGE!!!

Fun fact! Actor AU is currently the only WH AU to have a version of Sage instead of Rosemary! :D

Her intro stuff is really long, so I'll put it under the cut (AAAA IM SO EXCITED TO SHARE HER)!!

So, for the Actor AU, Sage actually isn't an actor at all! She's a singer and songwriter who has pretty recently (like, within the past year or two before meeting the WH cast, maybe?) become very popular. Sage's personality and music draw a lot of inspiration from AURORA and MALINDA -- songs that tend to have a lot of deeper meaning behind them. She's eccentric and honestly a bit weird, but she's most known for being open and honest about herself and her music, and for being very caring and sweet. She's able to immediately connect to people and help them see different points of view, which is part of why she's gotten so popular with both puppet and human audiences.

Wally, of course, doesn't really trust it, considering how he thinks and what he believes. He assumes she's probably just another attention-hungry diva, thinking they're the shit, using the whole "lets all be best buds!" schtick to sell out. So he doesn't really pay attention to her or what she does too much, besides taking note of her rising popularity.

That is, of course, until he meets her.

Due to Sage's rising popularity, the show executives decide to have her come on the show as a sort of guest star. Wally doesn't really like this, but they're able to negotiate him to at least try it out for an episode and they'll decide what to do after that. Wally reluctantly agrees, but he's not too optimistic about it. He's really just expecting another one of those "rising star" types, y'know? (Which, fair enough, when you consider what all he's probably had to deal with in his time, plus the fact that all he's probably ever seen or heard of her is in interviews, and he puts on an act well enough for his, so.)

I have a whole actual comic planned detailing this that I'll hopefully finish and get out soon (sitting and writing comics is hard when you have near-zero focus QwQ) but essentially he's outside, before filming for the first day of this, just to get air before having to go back in and start directing things and getting ready and she approaches him and just starts talking with him. And he has no idea who the fuck this is??? (Honest to god, he'll never admit it now but he thought she was an intern or something at first XD) But slowly he goes from just answering her shortly to actually participating in the conversation?? And not just a "how's the weather" sort of thing, but like. Actual deep conversation, about what he's doing out there and talking through a little bit of the stress and stuff. And eventually he kinda like, comes to and realizes he's been talking way too much about way too deep stuff and he's like "hold up who tf are you again?" Which is about the same time her manager (who has been named Savannah and she's also a sweetheart) comes out looking for her and before Sage heads in she fully introduces herself to him, and he's just. Stunned. Absolutely blown away.

Here he was, expecting some diva he'd have to give the shake down to, but instead he's met with just. A girl. An honest, strange, caring girl.

This continues throughout that week of filming, Sage subverting every expectation Wally previously had of her. The whole time he's just more and more startled by Sage and who she is. Her whole team is super sweet and she obviously has very deep trust in them, and jokes with them like friends. She treats his staff with utmost respect (which, admittedly, makes him act on his best behavior every time she's around. He doesn't wanna look bad in comparison XD). She seems to genuinely enjoy her time there and what she's doing. Even more than that, Sage honestly has a very poor filter, so she talks a lot about everything lol, but it can be good! Because this is how Wally learns about her drive to create and how much she genuinely wants to bring people together. He finds out that really, the two of them have very similar visions, just for different audiences. Later, he and the executives and director and stuff are all discussing if they wanna keep doing stuff with her and her team and he's just immediately like "Yes. Absolutely. She has a similar vision to me. We either keep doing stuff with her or I'm personally helping fund her, capiche?" and they're all like "👀Got it" XD

And then, of course, there's her music. Which, after that first day of filming, he searches up as much of as he can and listens to it. And is again absolutely blown away lmao (there's another little comic idea I have for this too hehehe but its much shorter than the other one)

And thus begins Wally's journey of self-improvement, led by Sage's example /j XDDDD

Next Enhanced Video In Process - CHICON 2008

I thought I'd post an update in case anyone's curious. After finishing Comic-Con 2008, I moved on to CHICON 2008. The videos for the main panels are decent and they're upscaling nicely, but you'll all hate the quality of the Breakfast video. I'm doing that one first.

I made some improvements to the originals which are explained and shown below, but I couldn't upscale them. Jared came out ok, probably because he was closer to the camera, but even the most light-handed approach distorted Jensen's features too much.

However, one thing I improved were the flashes. The original videos are nuts. Flashes have been bad on other videos too, but I think the lighting in the room made them stand out worse here. I was afraid they'd give someone a seizure or something so I found a way to reduce them. I probably won't do this again on other videos because I used a free trial that expired and I've already put way too much money into software for this pet project. I don't think it'd work as reliably on the less dramatically flashy videos anyway, but I may reconsider the purchase if I encounter more videos like this down the road.

I also tried to do some color corrections, but it's erratic. Suppressing the flashes doesn't change the real life effect they had on the lighting in the room. Maybe that's why the color correction settings I applied didn't have consistent results throughout the video. I separated out some longer segments of drastically different colors and fixed them independently, but there was just too much fluctuation. Individually analyzing and correcting all 37,440 frames is way beyond the scope of this project (and my patience) and would probably require more lifetimes than I have.

Anyway, I wanted to post a short comparison video so people can see the difference. I think when people just see the enhanced video by itself they'll be like, "this sucks!" I was hoping people might not hate it as much if they've seen how it originally looked. I think the "enhanced" version, once I publish it, will be the best version that's been posted to date, even if it's still crappy.

I've also made other adjustments that aren't seen in that sample:

The best-quality video has interruptions because the video taker also took pictures. This caused the frame to freeze and the sound to cut out. When possible, I edited in an alternate lower-quality video at those moments. I also edited in the alternate video to cover brief segments missing in the main videos.

The only other video that has the 1st two minutes is one where the video taker was scared to be too obvious about what they were doing and so recorded their legs and random non-J2 objects instead. 😂 But it was still helpful, because I substituted that video's audio in for the sections that cut out on the primary video due to the picture taking. We'll still have a few freeze frames in the first two minutes, but at least we can hear what was going on.

Speaking of hearing, there were some truly ear-shattering screams when Jared and Jensen first came out. I lowered the volume a little in those moments to save your ears some trauma.

This breakfast video will be the next one I release, but my video releases will be increasingly slow. I have something going on in real life that's eating up most of my spare time and will probably continue to do so off and on for most of this year. Nothing bad, just very time-consuming. This is a shorter video though, and I'm already well into the work on it, so hopefully it won't take too long.

Ha! I love this question! I hope you don't mind if my answer is lengthy.

Walter & Katie

So, Wally and Kuki actually stay friends with Walter and Katie, and they all hang out periodically in different combinations:

Altogether: When it comes to large gatherings that extend outside Sector V, like large parties or family barbecues, Walter and Katie are frequent guests.

Wally x Katie: Similar to what's in the fic, the two will get together and play sports or watch games.

Walter and Kuki: Also similar to what's in the fic, they'll get together in coffee dates to talk books and Rainbow Monkeys.

Kuki x Katie: Their friendship thrives off of their differences. For instance, they like to go on girl-dates every now and then where Katie lets Kuki give her mini-makeovers . While Katie doesn't necessarily enjoy the girly things herself, she enjoys being with Kuki. Wally once even commented that Katie was like the real-life doll of Kuki's dreams ("It's like you got a doll that came in a toy monster-truck package," he told her.) What's funny is that every time they get a manicure together, Katie's nails always end up ruined by the next day (she can't help it, she keeps forgetting about them), but Kuki just finds it funny and endearing.

Wally x Walter: Similar to Kuki and Katie, this friendship thrives off of their differences. Wally doesn't necessarily engage with Walter's interests, but he does randomly show up just to hang out with him. You ever have a friend whom you spend time with by running errands or something? That's what their friendship is. Like, Wally will just randomly show up and do yard work with him or something, and they'll just talk throughout that. Ultimately, Wally just likes Walter for the same reason why everyone likes him, i.e. his calming presence. Kuki once described their friendship by saying that Wally is like a fizzy energy drink, and Walter is like a chamomile tea that tones him down.

As for how they reacted when they found out that Wally and Kuki were finally dating, it's pretty much aligned with what we know of their personalities. Walter just smiles and says "I told you so" to Kuki, meanwhile Katie celebrates by punching the heck out of Wally's shoulder.

I actually have a fic brewing in the back of my mind where I detail Wally and Katie's comical and heartwarming break up. Hopefully I can get that out someday!

Wallace & Kathy

So, get this - they end up DATING. 🤭 I don't know how the relationship turns out in the long run, but what I do know is that they're actually quite compatible in the beginning. Kathy loves to show Wallace off to people, which he ABSOLUTELY ENJOYS. Another upside is that Kathy is mean enough that when Wallace starts saying stupid things, she'll put him in his place. The only downside to them is that they're both fundamentally unlikable people, so much so that every member of Sector V bolts in the opposite direction whenever they see them.

Wallace and Kathy find out about Wally and Kuki at a chance encounter, and it pretty much goes down as one would expect. Wallace and Kathy get competitive and try to show off, with Kathy saying things like, "My Wallace is sooooo much more athletic than any of my ex-boyfriends!" and Wallace saying things like, "Aren't you lucky, babe? Girls would be crazy to dump someone like me!"

It doesn't really work because Kuki actually thinks they make a cute couple and Wally just finds them both annoying so he tunes them out.

Okay so hopefully not controversial opinion, and to be fair I have been avoiding reading fic for a couple months out of fear of the emotional gut punch it can pack, so maybe it's improved? Maybe I've read too much preboot and I'm blind to post-new52 dynamics? But in so many fics people have the Bats using therapy-speak, and they could totally plausibly speak like that with people they are trying to save, but they would absolutely not speak like that with each other or other heroes. They're all too fucked up in the head for that.

I'm in healthcare and my mentor/friend died, and my coworker, in an attempt to cheer me up, told me my friend probably killed themself and then steered the conversation to a time their friend got decapitated. This was a genuine good-faith attempt to be comforting while I was bawling.

Actual comics canon, for the most part, is not going to be emotionally eviscerating, or if it is it's in a much quieter way, but they do kinda get that dynamic right a lot of the time? These characters have seen shit and their barometer for normal conversation is really fucked up? They think they are being nice to each other and they put their foot in it constantly. All these characters have so much PTSD, there's just no way not to doing what they do, and they are kind, but they are absolutely assholes in the nicest sense possible.

I'm probably guilty of writing them too nice too. There's so much interpersonal conflict you can mine from these people just genuinely not knowing how to handle each other's emotions. I don't want to see them all rendered toothless in an angsty fic when they could be dramatic and messy and complex.

Thanks for the link though! I never knew that he wrote a apology letter to Dale though! The fact that David is remorseful for his actions makes me realize I should have given his character more introspect. Hopefully in the next game, Dale can come to terms with his parents death by reconciling with David, or at the very least understand why he did what he did—That poor detective boy deserves closure. And maybe David knew that something about Dale would be different. They're both special cases of corrupted souls (You explained with David in your link, and Dale seems to switch in and out of his normal self and corrupted soul when leaving the Lake). When he gets the golden cube to hopefully save himself from repeating the same cycle of violence and tragedy by changing his future, maybe he can change David's future too from forever being a wandering corrupted soul This is long and let me know if I have any facts wrong, but aaaa I just love all this

And I agree that the Eilander siblings are so tragic. They were simply born into this sorta life, none of them asked for this but alas. They are just doomed by the narrative. It hurts me to think about them, of how Jakob and David never got the chance to form a bond because they didn't have the time to be brothers and David never really knew him. The only truly innocent collateral I feel tho is Elizabeth. She never harmed anyone. Tho she did get to be reborn as the Lady of the Lake now I suppose while David is the one out of the three siblings who for whatever reason was never allowed his reincarnation.

But David is resilient and has escaped death before. I'm sure he has more tricks up his sleeve. He's a magician after all.

As for him and Dale... Boy, that's a whole new can of worms you're opening up. They're my fav and the idea of them reconciling is the topic of most my art and comics of them. A slowburn with so much angst and pain but also hopefully healing, because a part of me thinks that's what Rusty Lake is all about... Healing from traumas. If the two of them just had the chance to meet again and work things out 😭

Dale IS special. He is meant to be the successor of Mr. Owl. And I suppose we will see if he will repeat the cycle or do something different. Mr. Owl wants Dale to get rid of the corrupted souls underneath the lake so I assume that means it's his fate to... Idk? Kill them?? Cleanse them??

But do hope on his journey to do that, that he can meet David one last time for them to put their differences aside... Or idk Dale has the upper hand here, if he wants revenge at that moment he could probably have it.

Tho I hope he doesn't. I hope they make amends, cuz at the end of it all, they're both just pawns for the lake and victims of it all the same. They were both put into these situations under unforgiving and unfair circumstances and they sorta just have to play the hands that they are dealt. 😔

I did talk about this before too but a part of the tragedy of Dale and David is David grew up with a lot of trauma without a mother. He knows what it's like to be in the position he later puts Dale in. Hurt people hurt people, and he repeated the cycle of trauma by putting Dale through it. They'd have an understanding but it would be funny to go "yeah I know how it feels" WHEN YOURE THE ONE WHO PUT THE OTHER PERSON IN THAT SITUATION!

Or maybe all this is just my wishful thinking 😩 I just know I want them to reconcile so bad cuz Dale tried killing David but it didn't fix him. If not revenge, then maybe forgiveness is what he needs to truly heal and move on.

So, April is the first one to meet Casey and brings him to the turtles for help. I am working on a comic book script for this event to try to learn how to write comics, so hopefully I'll be able to show it on here soon!

April is 15 years old. She's super into horror media and video games, and has known the turtles for about a year. Raph met her first and she considers him her BEST friend, but the other turtles are all a very close second. The two of them play video games online a lot even if they don't see one another in person that day, and they're working on a horror game together. She is kind of the opposite of Raph and Mikey - they both dream of being normal kids and being able to be normal and live around other people, but she hopes and wishes her mom would somehow fall in love with their dad, pull a brady bunch to fuse their families together, and give her unlimited Turtle Little Brother Time in their world instead of having to return to the human world. Donnie is teaching her some Turtle First Aid (as well as what Human First Aid he knows) and the two of them watch How It's Made and do cute things together. Leo and Mikey are both teaching her martial arts - Leo because he thinks it would make their dad proud if he did a good job teaching her (despite Splinter currently not knowing she exists,) Mikey because he's wracked with anxiety and has terror-visions of her being defenseless against Bad Guys. (Raph does not feel like he has to teach her anything, they're just friends who have fun together and are making fun stuff together and he really feels like he needs a friend who doesn't... depend on him for anything, poor boy.)

Casey is 16 and he's had a very rough life so far. Meeting Casey (and by extension meeting April, who introduces herself to him this way) is like a thirty-second process from Splinter going "Oh no a human" to "Oh no, a human THAT I MUST ADOPT, POOR BOY." (He does ask if April needs to be adopted, which adds fuel to the "April wants to Parent Trap Splinter and her Mom" fire, but she politely declines FOR NOW) Casey is VERY into the Fallout games and pretty explicitly models his way of dressing/weapons of choice/general aesthetic after Fallout New Vegas, which the turtle boys are too young to have played but April knows what's up. All four of the turtles feel incredibly obligated to teach Casey how to fight and take care of himself, especially when they find out that he's on the run from the same apocalyptic death cult that mutated them* mutated their dad into a rat** and chased them from Florida to the sewers of New York***. Casey likes all of the turtles equally, but has a special attachment to April, Donnie, and Mikey for nebulous Genders Reasons that he is not equipped to deal with at this time.

(Splinter then spent a couple of months trying to State To The Room that any of his sons can be a girl if they want and they can just tell him if they're a girl, that's normal and fine, just let him know, he has girl names lined up if anybody's interested)

You guys ever thrown a massive tantrum over things not going your way, to the point that it actually ruins the lives of those around you?

Hopefully not - but Cora absolutely has.

While "Dissent" was focused mainly on the Mid Sodor Railway, I had planned to only show the railway in flashbacks throughout the story. A huge chunk of these flashbacks involved Duke, Smudger, Stanley, the railway's manager and his daughter Cora.

I've talked before about how; due to pretty shitty circumstances, my TTTE AU is focused on the engines being sentient and mobile enough to essentially make up for the lack of humans, hence why they're cyborgs and not trains. However for some people there's a pretty fine line between the engines being there to assist humanity and being there to replace humanity.

The latter is unfortunately what Cora believes. By the time the comic reaches the 80's, there is a definite but not aggressive effort to start phasing engines out of public service as humanity begins to recover from the chunk taken out of its population. However, Cora ultimately reaches a high enough position of power that she can speed up that process, so much so that it ends up being more like a total decommission effort.

However there was/is one engine who - in her mind, she had planned to spare, though to most everyone else, he got arguably the cruelest treatment from her - and that engine was Smudger.

Cora's initial grudge against the engines stems from when her father - the Mid Sodor manager, tried to introduce one into the family after the death of his wife, Cora's mother. Hence where Cora's mindset on engines replacing humans comes from.

It's essentially deep-set and unaddressed grief and anger all mixed up into one, big mess, and unfortunately quite a lot of engines get caught up in that mess, with Smudger being the one who bears most of the brunt. Unfortunately for Smudger, the fact that his personality chip didn't come with a set personality - and he's essentially like a sponge, soaking up little bits and pieces of everyone he's been in contact with - makes him stick out like a sore thumb in terms of the way he acts.

To put it simply, he's really not like other girls! And that isn't lost on Cora, he's a breath of fresh air for her. In her mind; each time she visits the MSR in the story, she's surrounded by cookie-cutter, mandated-personality engines with no individuality, she sees them as nothing else but soulless machines, until Smudger. In her eyes, he's the only one who could actually pass as human.

So! She develops quite the soft spot for him, a soft spot that quickly turns detrimental when she confesses to him that she dreams of a perfect world where humans outgrow the need for engines, by any means possible! But as it turns out, he doesn't actually appreciate being her "only exception," and he also doesn't appreciate her confidently saying that she wants all of his friends and coworkers scrapped, so he quits being his usual feisty and warmhearted self and tells her that to her face.

From that point on, the plot becomes kind of fuzzy, but I remember that she was actually the one who convinced the MSR's manager to convert Smudger into a generator after all of that. I imagine the manager was already thinking of putting him to some other use, because it was very evident by then that his prototype bodywork wasn't anywhere near as durable as the rest of the engines. But Cora's influence was the killing blow.

I honestly can't remember much about her motives? I think her intention was to stop Smudger from blabbing about her whole "perfect world" vision, but I think what she really wanted was a way to punish him for rejecting her, and also to get hold of his personality chip. Going the generator route meant that she could put his bodywork to some other use and then take the chip so she could maybe build him another body later? I don't actually think I got that far back when I first thought up the story! But she definitely wanted to keep him with her, regardless of what he wanted. Ironic, since his "individuality" and his "ability to think for himself" was what endeared him to her in the first place.

But - that's Cora! She was meant to be a kind of "surprise" villain, but if I'm honest it probably would've been obvious that she was no good. I think she was also responsible for decommissioning Stanley too, since he was actually the first engine on Mid Sodor to realise that she wanted them all scrapped. Though she probably had a much easier time convincing the powers that be to convert him into a pumping engine, as he was clearly unstable and still had the weaponry he'd used in the war just, sitting on his shoulders lmao.

If I remember more - I'll be sure to add onto this post. But, man it feels great to get some of these ideas down after 7 or so years.

cosplay plans for the next 6-12 months

Rose City Comic Con is in 6 months, and next ECCC is 12 months away, so here's the stuff I have planned for the next year. A bunch of repairs and improvements, one old project that I still want to finish, and two (related) new projects that I just came up with in the last day or two.

Repairs & Improvements

Star Lord armour: - Test magnets as the new armour-to-bodysuit attachment method. - Assuming the magnets work, install a whole lotta magnets. - Replace/Repair the shoulder clip that's missing half the clip. - Super glue the velcro to the head piece. - Adjust boots to fit over running shoes. (And you thought the two boot adjustments I've done were the end of it! LOL.)

Paladin armour: - Figure out how to fix up the shoulders. (I could just adjust the positioning of the left one, but I'm considering permanently attaching the superstructure to the substructure. The only problem with that is that they will take up roughly 3x as much space in my luggage at a result, so I have to ponder.) - Put a clear coat on all the armour parts. - Repair the chipped paint on the shoe armour. - Install rubber/foam edges on the leg armour to hopefully prevent further shoe armour damage. - Add moar magnets to the flames so that they stay on better. - Make a mechanical attachment for the belt piece (the magnets work, but fall off way too easy--I'll relax more wearing it if its more secure).

Green Lantern - Eventually, remake the boots. Again. Don't get me wrong, I think they turned out well given the rush, but I can do better. - Replace the gloves. They're getting a bit tattered. - Possibly remake the pants. Honestly, they're too small. I can squeeze into them, but they kind of... slide down during the day. But if I'm really lucky, by the time I get around to doing this, it won't be necessary anymore. (Unlikely, but hey, you never know.)

In Progress (generalized points, as this is a long term project and I don't see the point of listing every tiny step separately at this stage)

Tron armour: - Finish making the helmet. - Probably re-make the bottom part of the boots. I can't recall which shoe I made it for. - Test the fit of the rest of the armour and adjust as needed. (I've gained weight since making it originally.) - Figure out the attachments. Never did get these working to my satisfaction, although I have a vague memory of what I planned to try after attempt #1 failed. - Determine amount of EL wire needed for the lighting / Figure out EL wire mounting strategy. Order & Install EL wire. - Make the undersuit. - Figure out how not to die of heat exhaustion while wearing a full body vinyl undersuit and a a near full body armour, including helmet, made out of layers of plastic and foam and absolutely covered in lighting.

New Projects (generalized as above)

Project #1: Captain Marvel leather jacket. Yes, I know people sell various versions. No, I don't like any of those enough to buy them. My sewing skills are very limited, so this will be a long term project involving a lot of test/learning stages.

Project #2: Captain Marvel armour. Yes, I like the design enough to make this sucker twice in two different styles. The armour would be EVA foam, not worbla. I've never worked in EVA foam before, but I've worked with other types of foam, and I've done armour generally. I still expect a learning curve, but I'm much more comfortable with this project than with Project #1.

Top 5 superheros?

Hopefully these answers aren't too cliche. ;)

#1 - Nightcrawler

What can I say? Even thought Batman was my introduction to superhero comics way back in the 90's, it wasn't long before my friend started introducing me to X-Men and Excalibur. She was really into Kitty Pryde but I immediately fell in love with this blue dude. (Thankfully they appeared in a lot of comics side by side so she had lots of books for me to read.) I had a pirate phase because of this guy. I watched a lot of Errol Flynn. I have Flaming Carrot comics on my shelf because of that one time he had a FC t-shirt in one scene. He's my rotten soldier, hes my sweet cheese, my good-time boy.

#2 - Honey Badger (Gabby Kinney)

Maybe the only Marvel comic book gal I've ever cosplayed? She's just... fun. I appreciate that even at her young age, she's really been through it. As a clone "granddaughter" of Wolverine, she's got that tragic backstory down pat, but she looked at all that trauma, and how Logan and Laura responded to it, said, "nah" and went on about her life caring about animals and being besties with Deadpool. There's probably a metaphor in there about generational trauma or something, but needless to say, I'm just glad there's a superhero girl out there who wears pants and looks and acts her age.

#3 Spider-Man (all of them)

I know, everyone is so surprised. The most popular superhero in the whole world. XD As a middle schooler, I lived on a steady diet of Gargoyles and the Spider-Man animated series, both of which introduced a lot of (dubious) scientific concepts before my science class got anywhere close to talking about stuff like genetics or cloning. I know Peter Parker is written to be this supposedly relatable everyman, so it's not hard to project on to him, but that means there's a lot of *there* there. I think Spider-Man is also one of the heroes who best understands his position as a symbol. Other characters go about their super-lives, making choices that they think are right, but in the back of his head, I think Spidey is always aware of the fact that kids look up to him, and that holds him to a stricter code than a lot of heroes. He walks this razor thin line and is stressed out about it all the time, and that's what the kids call a complete mood.

#4 Foggy Nelson

Putting up with Matt Murdock's crap is a super-power, actually.

No, but seriously. I LOVE a best friend type (see also: Nightcrawler) who provides that pragmatic (but not gloomy) perspective that other "more exciting" hero types need. They're not just there for comic relief, or so bad things can happen to them when shit goes down, they're essential, and Foggy performs his role admirably in basically every incarnation.

#5 The Bowler (Mystery Men)

Shut up, I'm putting a Mystery Men entry on here because that movie kicks ass and more people should watch it. I was vaguely aware of this movie when it came out (because of my aforementioned interest in Flaming Carrot comics) but I wasn't in a position to go out and see it. A few years later I picked it out of a bargain bin and it rocked my socks off. Mystery Men's greatest crime is being ahead of its time. It's a pastiche that came out before the world was oversaturated with big budget super-flix. And the Bowler is easily best of the bunch. I have a soft spot for Janeane Garofalo who brings the exact energy this role needs. I love her for being a competent hero who is still flawed and has her own shit going on, and I love that she's just... a woman out there doing her best... FOR REVENGE. I painstakingly made her costume for Halloween one year and literally nobody got it and actually I do not care, it's dope.

And we'll have an amateur division for the contest and it really is for things like plantons and body kits and things that you can take panels off and put panels on interior things and it makes things a lot easier for real because you have a go between right away see and the max want people in there they don't want them to attack us instead of them or at least spy. This is a Volkswagen Beetle and somebody did a decent job the grill looks outlandishly huge and it's kind of an odd effect but people have their own tastes and we want to make it pretty big like several hundred thousand vehicles and different classes and we know how to do that and these guys are used to it they'll be a whole bunch of different contests but there will always be a number one Frankenstein Or as people say and he wants gene to do the announcing from the WWF and he says there will be one person who is Frankenstein and it might be BJA because he does the race and is named Frankenstein and gene is accepting so we want to go ahead and do this and he's a famous announcer and he gets jobs all over and this would be very nice and we'd set him up with other automobile announcers and he would be like the ringleader and yeah there's a cartoon character with the ringleader we think it's him. It's a comic hero actually is a villain we're going to try and start this but the idea is to get a lot of people who are automobile enthusiasts involved in this contest to see if your vehicle is worthy of being a new design for a kick car and BG has several is gonna enter and it will be called "Frankenstien First in Show" and class A supercar contest. And they like names like that because it is real and it is going to be very real we're gonna have food vendors in would like to move in probably temporary hotels it'll hopefully be in an area with hotels that's what we wanna do and we wanna do it in Indiana so we could test out the cars and we will have to drive them and we have professional drivers that's what gets. We do have our own drivers and people have seen people driving stuff and it's just to analyze them and we might have you race and it's friendly competition no it's for the cup so I guess there would be several phases to it and it might be seen as grueling but it is a professional contest it's not solely based on speed and winning the race. You have to get to where you're going in one piece and you also have to have features that are required for the masses to receive it it can't be massively expensive that's what we're looking for in the super car it doesn't have to be overly complicated BG makes a very nice super car it's exactly what the public is looking for and we hate to put it up to the ring here but it seems like he likes it I don't know that's funny I really don't have to win the contest to sign a contract but we do offer a lot of perks and he could just sign the contract and say he won and people would be confused but if you win the contest you will be someone who's known as winning a contest for performance safety speed ease of construction and affordability And also ability to easily find donor cars and ease of Assembly for the new car owner and you guys match all that stuff and you'll be the first ones with the cradle and he's suggesting that BG patent his cradle design we wwill have ll sorts of prizes and different contests for diferent kit cr types. and of course three top spots for each contest. and yes an overall design award adn uusally to the full kit car donor car types and or built frmes. this is going to be really cool andfun

Frank Castle Hardcastle And yes we want to extend the offer to current kit car manufacturers and we wanna see what they say and if they want to do the contest and we wanna offer what the prizes are there's a bunch of them about 20 their business is slow they don't have the manufacturing and they don't have the marketing and the way they're doing the parts and things it needs to be they need assistance we don't have we know how to do that and we know how to get all of it together really fast.

We like the idea so much for getting start getting ready. It says our ladies can do all sorts of stuff they can make the billboards that will go up hopefully in Indiana and the signage for the show and simple stuff like parking and signage for when they're going in and brochures to advertise it we need a whole marketing program to make sure we're capturing the the market in the audience and it will be a public show people can go there and pay entry and we'll have judges but we'll have a general vote by people too and they do that and we'll have prizes for both and you can bring your literature too and post it at your vehicle so they can take brochures and will not downplay the facts will manufacture but we are looking for someone to make the car for it doesn't mean that we'll make it we want to try and make a deal even with a contest but we also want to get together people to put the contest together we have to do the contest but we we will probably need to have drivers and things like that and we're gonna mount cameras'cause we wanna see how it goes and we need judges and some lawyers not many and we need a facility and we gotta get it going but we do have to have a presence there and we do have to have a company and we need people to work there so we need to form a company to do this with it says there are people out there who are not necessarily the same people and they're the same race so we know who to go to and we're gonna talk to them and work much better. Boy this is a great idea and I'm gonna help them make up the brochures and the marketing program and the event stuff and we're gonna get together and form everything up hopefully it's not gonna rain but he says we should probably have enough tents to cover all the cars or have them bring tents But we can actually make enough tents and during the day it would have a cover and at night you just put the surround around it and it'll be a few days

I do. I feel so grateful for every comment and I need them to know how much I appreciate it. Plus the anxiety of a full inbox and the fear of being rude outweighs the anxiety from feeling like I'm artificially inflating my comment numbers.

5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Haven't actually finished it yet lol. In terms of finished ones there were a few old Naruto fics but I'd say more recently some of the stephcass ones. Either the evil batman au did to the overall premise even if it does end hopefully, or the one where Cass gets badly injured on patrol and it ends with both of them knowing she can't promise not to do it again next time because her life will always be less valuable than every other persons even if it causes Steph pain to see her hurt.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Shiny Happy People. Or the battinson au stephcass first kiss fic.

7. Do you write crossovers?

None so far unless you count fics that reference different batfamily comics

A few times lol, mostly with the more popular fics. Mostly about how the family treats Jason (which I make no apologies for lol there's plenty of fics out there that have everyone talk to him like they're a therapist and center his feelings above their own. I just don't think they're likely to do that in canon nor should I have to write them doing that just because it's popular. Let them be mean to each other.)

Not opposed to writing it but no not yet lol. It's always easier for me to let the screen fade to black and skip it.

A lot of my old fics from fanfic dot net appeared on copycat websites? Not quite stealing since they were still credited to me but it still felt weird since I have no idea what those sites are all about or who uploaded them there.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated?

People have asked and I've happily agreed but I don't think I ever checked back in to see if they actually managed it.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've had beta editors and people I bounce ideas off of but so far every fic has been written solely by me.

13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Brittana. The bond between a girl and the awful TV show that made her realise she wasn't straight is the strongest and most powerful force in the universe.

14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

My Reverse Robins au. By making it a collection of oneshots I've pretty much ensured it'll never be truly finished because I can keep coming back to it whenever I have a new idea.

15. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue I think. It flows easily from my brain to the page. Other than that I've no idea lol.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

I would say everything else but I know my friends would yell at me for thinking that. So maybe the way I struggle to finish fics and instead just keep writing until 3k one shots are multichapter 15k monsters

17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

If the POV character understands what's been said then I put it in italics. Otherwise I'd keep it in the original language and put the translations at the end. Never had to do it yet thankfully because I know I'd struggle getting accurate translations.

18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Naruto. It was a tragic comedy one shot about the akatsuki. Although technically it would be a zutara twilight au that I thankfully never published. (I didn't even ship zutara I just wanted to make a twilight au and thought he fit the role of Edward best)

Off the top of my head Cassrose and harpercass

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

I can't choose overall, although I guess it would probably have to be Frozen History just for the sheer amount of effort and words I put into it. Even though there's so much that makes me cringe and that I'd want to redo, it was definitely a highlight for me at the time of writing. Most recently I'd say Occam.
