So.. say that Arthur was able to recover from tb, what would be the hardest part of recovery?

In a hypothetical situation? Honestly, for Arthur, it would be the realisation that he will never physically be the same as he was before his illness, and all the rest he needs.

As much as recovery is possible (less so in the 1800s, if at all), TB still leaves a lot of permanent damage, even beyond the respiratory system. It can take years for just your lungs alone to recover, and even then, they'll never have the full strength and capability that they once had.

It's the same with muscle, because Arthur's weight loss wasn't just him losing body fat. Cachexia is a condition that goes hand in hand with TB, it causes muscle loss (specifically muscle protein) that cannot be fully reversed, even after recovery. It's a very complex metabolic syndrome that affects almost everything in the body, like scarring your heart muscle, which causes a heap of other problems.

But most importantly, Arthur would need to work very hard to put weight back on. And knowing Arthur, that's something he'll especially struggle with. His self esteem is in the ground as it is, so getting Arthur to rest and eat enough to gain weight back will be an almost impossible task.

A lot of TB patients also struggle neurologically after recovery, Arthur might be especially irritable or forgetful or have trouble concentrating, so bless Charles or whoever is helping to take care of Arthur during all this.

Ah, really it was all the work of my wonderful amazing mother! In all honesty, I would never be even CLOSE to being this happy if it wasn't for her and everything she did to keep me safe and let me transition. Short answer: I got lucky with living in the transgender shield of New York because my parents are rad and moved us up there

Long answer: Quite a few things actually! For starters, I was lucky enough to live in a state that allowed it, and I had proof of being dysphoric from a young age through therapy records and mental health checks. (<- not Necessary, but definitely helped my case! the government LOVESS the mentally ill lmfao) Really when medically transitioning, you need a few things on a list.

1: A letter of recommendation from a therapist (I've been through Several, so no problem there! Just need proof from a mental health professional that you are who you say you are, and you're not going to regret the change)

2: A letter from your general practioner/medical provider, signing off on the surgery (this will actually happen Several Times. but you need one to start off the whole thing)

3: If you're a minor, proof that you're fully developed puberty-wise, through a physical exam with your doctor!

Then, you take all of those to a plastic surgeon. I had an amazing doctor that took wonderful care of me and did a perfect job with the surgery, and I'd really recommend doing a metric shit-ton of research on whatever surgeon you end up choosing! The best bet most often is whatever other trans people recommend. This surgeon will then sign off on it, and you'll book some dates. In my case, there was 2 pre-op meetings! One where they looked at my chest and decided on the best procedure to use, and one where they had my mother fill out consent forms and book the date of the final surgery. (Again, assuming it's a minor like me going through this process, it's likely they haven't been through a surgery before! So there might be one more appointment with a doctor where they check your general muscle strength and how well you'll recover from the anesthetic/surgery in general. Really easy check-up, that typically functions as a less invasive physical)

It's a long, time consuming process that's very fuckin expensive lmao, but I promise you it's worth it. It's so very very worth it. I could go into all the little details of every step of the process and all the hoops I jumped through, but it can and will vary from person to person! Again, I just got very very very goddamn lucky with a family that supports me and was willing to help me as much as they have. Im the luckiest guy on the planet I'm pretty sure. Everyday I get to wake up in the body I've always wanted to have and feel amazing about it.

I have Fei drafts I still work on from time to time. Occasionally I chuck one on the list for WIP Wednesday when my weeks aren't too busy. But, like anything, what I write depends on what project inspires me in the moment and how much time I have to write. I never really "retire" drafts, so there's always a chance I'll write more fics about a character. I just have no idea when!

i think he saw himself in todd, he saw how vulnerable and shy he was, but also i feel like they just connected instantly, like they were destined for each other. even in the first scene where they meet, they stare at each other for a moment and neil looks away and then looks back. there’s a lot of staring too. i feel like neil just liked him and probably didn’t know exactly why, but because he liked him he then kept trying to get todd out of his shell because he cared. and he was right to care and take a chance on todd because it did bring him out of his shell and they had a beautiful relationship (both platonically and romantically). i know exactly what you mean: why would someone like neil take a chance on someone like todd? i’m so much like todd and i think id never find someone like todd because why would i? i would seriously need someone to be patient with me just like neil, and sometimes i don’t feel worthy of that. i guess when it’s the right person they won’t care, they just love you regardless, like neil did with todd.

I HAVE A QUESTION

In Todd's perspective, even with Anderperry aside (this convo can be about their platonic or romantic relationship) he loved Neil because he actually showed him what being alive is. Neil, wether intentionally or unintentionally at any point of the movie, showed Todd that he can actually belong, that he can enjoy himself and being around others. He pushed him out of his comfort zone, so that Todd could find himself in places that he would never let himself even go. I literally picture him taking Todd's hand and rushing inside the woods, a huge smile on his face as he laughs, literally showing how to live deliberately while keeping a tight grip on his hands as their fingers end up interlocking almost naturally. That is what made him care about him so deeply despite the relatively short amount of time they've known each other, this is what made him even fall in love with Neil. What I can't quite put my finger on is what drove Neil to do that, because it's obvious that he wanted Todd to feel included, that he wanted him to to be there with him from day one. What is it that made Neil feel so pulled towards him? Because if it was because of love (romantic love), what exactly made him fall so hard??

Ps: I understand maybe there isn't necessarily a full on developed and deep reason, and maybe he fell in love just because that's how love really is. But maybe I just relate to Todd so much that I'm blind to the reason why. I'm just looking for something solid to grasp, but I also understand why Neil would simply like him because...why wouldn't someone fall in love with the socially awkward handsome blonde poet boy right there by the window of our classroom?

Sage rebuilt and reprogrammed them with spare Metal Sonic parts. It’s the same Metal Sonic from the past but files/memories of their battles with Sonic were erased.

They pretty much don’t need to prove anything since they already identify themselves as Sonic. That is until they go back in time and meet the bluegumballsonofa

i do both, it depends on the style i'm going for!

but usually for my painty style if i already have an idea of what i want, i just do a rough sketch and then go straight to putting down big blocks of color and refine lines along the way ^^)

Maybe I’m dumb but how did viktor’s crutch suddenly get several feet longer? The rest that used to sit under his arm now is above his head?

Hi lovely. You're not dumb! It's such a quick moment in the episode that it's easy to miss what (I think) happens.

So when Viktor comes out of the hex-goop he immediately reaches for his crutch (a really cool detail that I love very much, as it shows that, deep down, he's still Viktor to at least some degree). Now, in this shot, right after he grabs it, his crutch looks like it always has

But we can see that when he touches the crutch, he begins to change it in a similar way that he himself has been changed. You can see it actually happening here

And here you can see it afterwords.

And then there's this shot while he's talking to Jayce that shows his entire crutch. If you look at the very bottom, you can see this spindly design that wasn't there before

So I think what happened is him touching the crutch made it transform and therefore extended it, making it taller than before.

It even sounds different when he walks! It's more of a glassy/metallic sound than a thump. How cool is that!
