it's so funny that one day mr Keating tells the class that language was created "to woo women" and another day Todd improvises a poem using Walt Whitman as inspiration and Neil is left completely awestruck with hearts jumping from his eyes, my baby is no woman but he was wooed enough that's for sure

crazy how knox was harassing chris like “wow we’re starcrossed lovers” meanwhile the ACTUAL starcrossed lovers were in front of him the entire time and he didn’t even realize

saw someone headcanon neil as a maladaptive daydreamer on tiktok (their acc is @/fryepresto) and i WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree.

neil zoning out in class thinking about himself inside of the plays he likes, having to force himself to concentrate in class and not escape into his head because he Has to get high grades and all

todd studying in their room and turning to ask neil a question only to find him Completely zoned out (neil snaps out of it pretty quick and acts like nothing happened but todd is Kinda worried sometimes)

As someone that watched dead poets society for the first time I spent half my time bracing myself for the really depressing part of the movie I knew would come and the other half trying to tell all the poets apart

Charlie is appointed the uncle of Neil and Todd's daughters and when one of them started getting bullied he secretly taught her how to punch somebody to the point of breaking their nose. It works and Neil is furious at Charlie, and maybe secretly a little proud of his girl for pulling that off, but mostly mad at Charlie. He calls Charlie and Charlie thinks it's so fucking funny and is openly proud of his niece because he was half joking and didn't expect her to actually try it, let alone for it to work. Todd talks to his daughter about how violence isn't the answer and she says something like "uncle Charlie said it's okay if they're being a dick" and they eventually come to an agreement to only fight back and not to start fights and then Charlie gives her $20.

The way the boys come to tell Todd that Neil’s dead in DPS absolutely looks like friends having to tell someone about their partner dying. There is no way those boys didn’t think something was going on.
