I found this reblogged by an artist I follow and really, really like, not just as an artist, but as a person.

She's even called my her friend before.

She also has this in her pinned post: "This is a safe place for everyone to enjoy what they want without judgement. I don't mind who enjoys my content and who does not." I kinda figured that might have been a lie because a lot of people who claim they're "tolerant" are really only tolerant to people they already agree with, but I couldn't know for sure if that was true in this case or not.

I'm honestly genuinely really upset and don't know what to do. :'( Any advice?

It’s become pretty obvious over the last few years that anyone who describes their blog as a “safe place” means that it’s a safe place for left wing minorities who all have the same opinions and don’t have to worry about the mean scary conservatives so anytime I see a message like that I pretty much immediately know it doesn’t apply to me and that the person who wrote it will not like me.

And like you’ve seen, most of the time they don’t even mean because they turn right around and post the most mean spirited judgmental things without even hearing people out and trying to make them feel bad and unwelcome. It’s incredibly hypocritical.

Now, it’s a lot harder to move past that when it’s someone you’re close to or consider a friend. Like I can deal with people calling me a Nazi all day long but when it comes from someone in my family it hurts a little bit. So I understand being caught off guard and feeling upset. It’s a really mean message.

Right now tensions are still really high. It’s only two days since the election and the Kamala voters are still dealing with the fact that they lost. They’re upset and angry and we all already know the only way they deal with their problems and emotions is by lashing out at those around them.

If it were me, I might give her some time to calm down. If she is able to move on from this I’m sure she’ll go back to her once pleasant self and you might even be able to gently approach her on the subject. People need to understand it’s not ok to talk about others like that just because you’re mad.

If this is a friendship that’s important to you then don’t give up on it. Just try to be patient, kind and understanding and be living proof that she’s wrong. On the other hand, if you don’t think she is the kind of person who will see reason and is going to live out the behavior of that post you are not obligated to subject yourself to such treatment because you don’t deserve it.

Brush used for the bloodstains!

I have made a couple of adjustments to this old work, it now looks a bit more readable? I realized I don't do well with dark backgrounds because I could not tell how dark it is, if it's to the point I could not see anything. 😅😅😅 Which sucks, there are so much ideas to work with dark scenes. 😓 I hope to improve on this faster, figuring out a technique so I don't have to make it a habit of going back on a supposed finished drawing just to make it clearer.

Happiest Birthday to the coolest drummer, Yagami Toll - the dedicated man who never put his hair down ahaha.

Not only is he a great drummer, but as the oldest member - who probably had to take up on the role of a parent many times - he is a very admirable human. The big brother of the band and the fans.🤍

Despite struggles and hardships, he always had a smile on his face. I hope he keeps rocking on and laughing for another 62 years!!! 🙏

Dawn breaks late over the Alabaster Sierras: tall toothlike mountains take up so much of the sky, the sun must climb high to clear them. It’s well past that first bite of morning, and so probably hours later than he would usually wake. 

Knocking resumes at the door, more urgently, so Percival hopes his voice comes clear: “Yes?”

“Lord de Rolo,” and she has to be a servant that survived the purge, to put that much deference into the name, “your sister and companions await you downstairs for breakfast.” The they’re quite concerned, sir, is only implied. Which confirms Percival’s hunch. 

He reassures the maid he will be down shortly, but does not move. Instead, perhaps unwisely, he unpeels the white bandages from his left hand. Like if he removes all the gauze he will find the names where he always has. 

They’re still bare. Percival breathes heavy relief until his eyes catch on brutal color in his palm.

Most of it, truthfully, is not his palm - but the pattern of the comforter beyond. What’s left - left - of the flesh so close to the wound is puckered and mottled with a rainbow of color. He’s felt worse than the dull, tight pain. Which is better than the prickling drowning several fingers. (That’s why it hadn’t hurt, when Vex’ahlia took his hand last night.)

Well. It figures that if Pike could not heal the fingers he shot off the carriageboy, blasting a hole in his own fucking hand would be even trickier for Keyleth to repair. His head spins; nerves, tendons, muscles, a mess of tiny bones. 

In a fit of grim whimsy, Percival holds his hand up to the sun, watching it peer through the gaping crater of his palm.

He tries to close his fist around it. Thumb, pinkie and ring finger make a valiant effort of the task. 

The sun remains beyond his grasp.

Hello, I wanted to ask how you're able to find peace in being open as a factive married to another factive? /gen I live in constant fear of being invalidated in the fandom. Sometimes I wish I could be out like you and other factives out here on Tumblr, but I couldn't fathom the idea that someone out there will harass me for "impersonating" my source... at the same time, I don't want people to see me either. Sorry if this doesn't make sense. I think I just wanted to hear what you think of all this, from factive to factive. If you ever find this ask relevant to answer, thank you.

I know the feeling, sort of. Honestly when I got this I wasn't sure exactly how I would respond, because I don't really open up much and I don't consider myself someone who's good at emotional conversations with people, but I knew I wanted to reply. I just had to navigate how, I guess? Build up a response. Sorry for the wait.

I wish I had some magic cure all answer for you but honestly? On my end, I don't- although Tommy might have something. I've felt that feeling before, but in very little dosages in comparison to him.

Like, I had the advantage of Tommy making his Tumblr account before I did, so people knew I existed even before I made my own account. I DID have a Pinterest back then, and I did mention being a factive on there but people don't really talk on that site... All I really did when I first made a Tumblr was that I avoided talking to other JSE fans until I knew a specific person was okay for x, y, z reason, and then over time by doing that I just sort of fell into place?

But honestly I didn't get much backlash period. When I did it wasn't about me impersonating my source; it was about me either not being a real alter or about me being disrespectful to him because I'm in a relationship that's. My own relationship. Which is incredibly stupid but still. Even then though, it was only a few people and we just...both blocked them.

And I wasn't even that hesitant! Like I was worried yes, but not nearly as much as Tommy because I had seen introjects in my fandom be treated well, I'd even seen my source interact with some directly, so I knew it was safe.

Tommy was the direct opposite because his fandom is considered "cringe" and alters from there get made fun of, and also because he was concerned that the DSMP fandom specifically is/was harsh or hostile and that he'd have a harder time. So he'd probably be a better example to pull from, I think?

I defenitely know he was terrified at first. Like, REALLY terrified. He used to put spaces between "Tommy" and "innit", or even censor letters: only making an exception for his intro post at the time. He didn't interact with any DSMP posts or blogs at ALL, he was open about his identity in his bio and still went by Tommy, but was careful not to let any ofnhis posts pop up in the notes of DSMP blogs or in any dsmp-related searches. And nowadays that's obviously not the case anymore.

But as far as I'm aware that mostly just came from time, blocking a LOT of blogs pre-emptively if their bio or pinned implied we might have problems, and making one or two friends who WERE active and could ease him into it. I think he just got bolder as he realized how little people actually care? Fakeclaimers and assholes are real and out there but it's not a daily chore so long as you block people regularly (even if you just see them in passing, if you see a post from someone you've never met who thinks factives aren't real or something, do your future selves a favor and block just in case they find you later) and stay out of r/systemcringe and similar circles. I can't even remember how long ago the last time we got hate was but it was at LEAST before September.

Don't check your indirects- don't Google or search your username, don't check to see if you're on cringe compilations. Ignore anything you can and block it when it gets in your feed directly, and you'll find that all your nightmares about fakeclaimers are usually overzealous. They're awful, but they aren't super common. It's important to know how to prevent them from getting worse (don't post or reply to hate, for example) but it's also not something you'll encounter on a daily or even weekly basis, at least not in our experience. It's not as bad as your brain is telling you it is. Your imagination is scarier than reality.

If you want any more information on this though, then again I'll have to point you to Tommy. I know his anons are off right now as I'm posting this but he usually keeps them on and only turned them off temporarily for the first few days of that septicinnit poll thing- he'll turn them back on soon and you should be able to message him on anon once he does, assuming you want to stay anonymous and everything.

Is there a panel in the manga where Kira’s kill count is outwardly confirmed as a certain number?

really good question!! from what i can remember they generally keep it pretty vague, but here's a few of the somewhat more direct references i could find. if someone can find something better pls pls pls add it i'd like to see as well owo

from chapter 60 (time skip after L's death):

in most cases where the narration talks about the effect of KIRA, they stick to talking about the reactions to the deaths rather than the exact number of deaths themselves. clearly though, the world has been drastically changed-- see the twin towers still standing in the DN universe as shown in the last panel.

from the same chapter, a couple shinigami comment about the worry that they might run out of people if humans keep dying at the rate that they are. this is almost immediately made pushed back against by the implication that these shinigami are particularly out of the loop when it comes to human populations, but the fact that it stood out at all to the point where they could have such a worry in the first place seems notable.

a bit later, in chapter 75 we also get this:

light calls KIRA an undeniable "mass murderer," and that public anonymous surveys show a majority of people are in support of KIRA. (where these surveys take place is not mentioned-- i'm assuming this is either for japan or worldwide.)

at the end, in chapters 103, 104, and onward, we also get a Lot of looks into what the pages of the death note look like themselves:

for that last panel in particular-- this doesn't even appear to be the full page, but from what i can count that's about 6 columns by 28 rows for this one page alone, making about 168 names a page. iirc mikami was writing about a page or two a night while he was at his peak as KIRA, so. you can do the math.

or, actually, if you don't want to-- the film theorists channel did a video on this exact subject. idk how trustworthy it is since i believe they take from the anime too, not just the manga, but it's a fascinating source regardless and i like how they break down each individual KIRA.

TL;DR: light definitely writes the most names as presumably he is Going At It during the time skip with basically nothing standing in his way for at least 5 or so years. misa also writes a lot, though her numbers potentially vary a lot depending on how much light was relying on her eyes during that same time. mikami also by far has the highest rate of kills, again packing All That Shit into one page on the reg, though he doesn't work as KIRA for very long.

Account Settings

Filter tags or content! There are even handy "Help" links.

Granted, if you're just using the Tumblr search bar as a general search instead of looking at the actual tags, it can pick up untagged posts simply because it includes words that you searched for somewhere in the post (more on that below under "blog settings and visibility").

Wait! What do you mean even if I don't tag a post it might pop up in searches???

Well, that's where the Blog Visibility Settings come in.

If you enable the third option it will exclude your tumblr from showing up in Tumblr search results. However you also won't be able to search your own tumblr. Aaaand as an FYI, if you want to keep your tumblr archive page available, you can't enable any of these three options.

It's been a while since I last played around with it, but I think it might also affect your posts showing up in tags as well? So if you post art, meta, etc, that you'd like to share, it might not be a good idea to enable this.

And of course, if you see posts you don't enjoy by a specific user, you can always just block them.

Some other blog settings worth mentioning are the mentions and replies. You can choose to let anyone, mutuals, only people you follow/follow you, or no one reply or mention you.

Post Settings

Before I go into actual post settings, I'm going to point out something obvious because it can't be reiterated enough.

It is possible to post without tags!

If you absolutely need to tag something for your own organizational needs, but it's something that you don't want to or maybe shouldn't go in a main tag, you can create your own unique tag that you can use for your blog. For example: If I have very passionate Garlic Bread Opinions that I want to vent about but don't necessarily want to show up in the main tag, I'll tag it with something like #GarBread My Beloafed

If you ever post something that you don't want to get reblogged? You can turn reblogs off in the post settings before or after you post it.

You can also make a post private so it's only viewable to you!

Sometimes you just want to rant to no one, which is more private than ranting to the void. This way, what's said between you and your tumblr stays between you and your tumblr (literally).

somehow i finished this! list of tori stories i recommend, divided by era, with three main sections (important stories, silly stories and other stories that are useful to get more context on his environment but not as relevant to him as the ones labeled as important) and filterable (might add other parameters of anyone has suggestions?). i will probably add others i like in the future and keep this up to date !

Jaheira looks deeply grim as they loot the bodies of the dead doppelgangers. Whatever good humor she'd had on entering the Harper safehouse has drained out of her, leaving her looking more tired and haggard than ever.

Her expression is carefully noncommittal as she looks at a note left on the table near one of the dead bodies.

"So it is, then," Rakha hears her murmur - the words clearly meant for no one but herself. "The tree has been cut apart at its roots."

She folds up the paper and tucks it away in her pack, and for just a moment Rakha can see a flash of brilliant pain through her eyes and across the curve of her mouth. And then it passes and her expression is unreadable again.

Geraldus is leaned against the wall of the basement, trembling with exhaustion and fear. "Did I- Did I get it right?" he asks shakily.

With visible effort, Jaheira pastes a faint smile and a business-like glance onto her face. "Selune's Tears," she says matter-of-factly with a slight nod. "It is said no false face can stand beneath their light. An old code, Harper - but yes. You got it right. Now... I need your report."

Geraldus straightens with an earnest nod. "We had eyes on suspected cultists in the city, like you asked," he says. "We thought we were tracking them, but..."

"They were tracking you instead, evidently," Jaheira says grimly. "Doppelgangers."

Geraldus nods several times rapidly. "And they're not just working with the cult, High Harper. They're *part* of it. Bhaalists, I think."

"Sworn to Orin the Red, yes," Jaheira confirms. "We've... already had the pleasure. Go on."

The boy shifts his weight uncertainly from side to side; his gaze flicks to Rakha and the others, then back to Jaheira. "Everything seemed fine until... your latest orders. Until we started to search for the Rashemaar."

Rakha blinks at the unfamiliar word. She glances at Wyll but he shrugs uncertainly in response.

"They struck the same night," Geraldus goes on. His voice trembles just a little. "I woke to one of them strangling Chelvin while smiling at me out of her face. She said - it said - that I'd report back to you as normal. Lure you here. And... I had no choice."

An uncomfortable little shiver of pleasure goes down Rakha's back as she considers this image. A brutal way to die, whispers the beast. Our Father's servants do beautiful work... and forced the boy to watch...

Jaheira's expression twists with dismay and regret. "I'm sure it felt that way, Geraldus," she mutters. "The others were likely dragged back to Orin. Tortured. Sacrificed." Her jaw works, her eyes hooding over with effort at controlling her emotions. "I do not expect you to die for me," she says, a touch bitterly. "But to risk Entharl? Any citizen who might have wandered in?"

She shakes her head - and even Rakha can feel the sting of disappointment in her words. "There is always a choice. And a Harper must be able to make the hard ones. Perhaps this isn't the life for you after all, Geraldus."

Geraldus blanches, appalled. "No! Jaheira - High Harper - please! I'm still a Harper! I want to help!"

Jaheira frowns - and again, just for a moment, Rakha can see that flicker of pain, swiftly concealed. "You've scarcely signed up, boy," she says softly. "And there is a war coming. Why die a Harper when you could still live as anything else?"

(A/N: This line fucking kills me. :( I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT HER OKAY.)

Rakha draws a slow breath and hisses it out between her teeth. She can tell, from her position outside the moment, that it is a difficult one for Jaheira - but she is all too acutely aware of the dead doppelgangers around them, the smell of blood in the air. She can't focus.

"Enough," she mutters hoarsely. "What do we do now?"(*)

Jaheira flinches. For a moment, she looks as if she wants to be angry at Rakha's interruption - but then she just sighs and shakes her head. "I'll come clean," she says tightly. "I did not tell you all about what I hoped to learn here today. I will rectify that."

A pause. Then she looks at the boy, who is still watching her anxiously. "But first... Geraldus. Does your mother still own that farm in the Dalelands?"

"Yes, High Harper." His shoulders slump, feeling the blow before it arrives.

She smiles sadly. "Just Jaheira to you, now," she says quietly. "Go on. I have all the help I need."
