Fool's Table MV - Analysis
I absolutely adore this MV so it's getting an immediate analysis post. I cannot fucking believe what was in it. After playing coy with Mai for so long, we get an entire MV about her and Teruko?!?! The Terumai stocks are through the roof and my adoration is immeasurable. Let's go!!!
I hope I'm able to pick up on at least most of the most important details, I am doing this a bit off the cuff lol. As always, an important disclaimer is that the following is just my interpretation, I could be wrong about some things, and others may have multiple valid interpretations, Iâm not claiming that my way of seeing the MV is the only ârightâ one, yadda yadda, you know this by now.
First, the description:
Together, alone, until the curtains close, I want to dance on the stage with you.
Pretty straightforward. The entire MV is framed on a stage, there's curtains, Mai and Teruko even dance. Just reinforcing the togetherness of Mai and Teruko (and donât worry, weâll get to that).
But, wait. Not everyone knows who Mai is, or what we already knew of her relationship with Teruko. Thatâs understandable, sheâs had literally 9 seconds of screen time in the main series, and while itâs widely speculated sheâs Unnamed Classmate, thatâs not immediately obvious.
If you donât know anything about her, I'll recommend you read up on the relevant sections of my secrets masterpost, since all you really need is her profile, Mai quotes and maybe her LGI numeral to understand this post. Or, if you're down for a longer read, my only somewhat outdated Mai post.
Next, we have to ask, what is Fool's Table actually about? I find it helps to talk about the song's overall meaning before diving into any specific lines, so we can better understand them in context.
Fool's Table is a song primarily about societal rules and expectations, and what it means to live within them. You'll see plenty of references to manners, people wearing masks, etc. The song also dwells on the concept that suffering is an inherent part of being human, and how to deal with this fact. The titular Fool's Table refers to life itself; it's framed both as a table, where society would claim manners and cleanliness are important, and described as a stage in various occasions, somewhere to dance and dirty and act on. You'll see what I mean when we get to line by line analysis, which this should be enough to get us started on, I think!
We open on a shot of a table, filled with plenty of different foods. Given this is the "table of life", you can easily interpret this as a representation of the large amount of experiences which life can offer. Before Teruko and Mai appear, the following lyrics play:
I'll deliver the final blow Already, that kid has a pitiful look on their face Everything everywhere is in flames Savages acting "sensitive"
"Everything everywhere is in flames" is pretty straightforward, I think. A very Teruko-like sentiment. This sentiment is possibly why the table that represents life is shown upside down; being "upside down" is a way of showing that everything's wrong with it, and by extension the world. The "final blow" mentioned, in my opinion, is showing this "truth" to the "kid with a pitiful face." Basically, this kid, possibly a stand-in for all children, was already sad, and now you're telling them everything is in shambles because of "savages" who pretend to be more compassionate, "sensitive", than they truly are.
On its surface, this seems like exactly the kind of fatalism that Teruko has held throughout most of her life. However, the next lines actually recontextualize these statements in quite an important way.
Let's let the flowers bloom until the end From the cradle to the grave, there's not enough love! Impatient guests, in a hurry Everyone is wearing the same face
This reveals that the singer actually wants things to get better, "flowers to bloom until the end." Although discontent with the current state of the world, with all these people who have lost their identity ("wearing the same face") due to "being in a hurry" (which you can interpret in a few different ways but it's not all that important for us), they seem to believe there are ways to improve it. And this idea that the singer wishes to go against society and make a better world for themselves is immediately tied to Teruko in the next line.
"You have no manners"
(The color's not actually in the MV just to be clear lol)
So first, sick animation. DRDTDev is awesome.
Anyways, there's the connection. For all that Teruko in current canon doesn't particularly believe her life can get better, she's certainly someone who goes against what is expected of her, here represented by dropping her cutlery and eating with her mouth. That's because Teruko doesn't think acting the way others act is going to help her, so she does her own thing. For example, pushing everyone away after the first trial, when others would want her to be more approachable. And with this idea, we reach Teruko's side of the table.
Now, gather around the pure white table
"The pure white table" is an ironic statement. Remember, the table represents life, so pretending it's "pure white" would imply it's simple and orderly, which the singer obviously doesn't believe. To amplify the irony, the statement is contrasted by the image of Teruko spilling blood all over the "pure white table." The statement is pretty clear: Teruko is a challenge to the orderly nature of society. Not only because she's a disruptive person herself, but because her life of misfortune is in itself a challenge to the idea that everything's perfect and okay, the mask that the other people mentioned before in the song wear.
Dance on spinning dishes, oh no
I actually quite like this line. The imagery of dishes is obviously connected to the table, which represents life, but spinning dishes in particular is a circus trick. Literally calling the world a circus, lmao. And asking you to dance on the dishes once again invites images of disorder and going against expectations.
We've forgotten the right way to breathe
AND THE CROWD GOES WILD!!!!!
Indeed, our favorite mystery girl (and birthday girl!), Mai Akasaki, makes an appearance. Unlike Teruko, Mai's eating with her cutlery, the way society would want her to. And this isn't exactly the first time we've seen Mai be contrasted with Teruko in this kind of vibe, remember?
In the LGI MV, Teruko is described as "someone dearly unloved", while Mai is "someone dearly loved." If you know anything about Mai, you know the idea that she's perfect by all standards, including societal ones, isn't exactly new.
However, it's worth noting that this is only a first impression. We'll see Mai dancing on the table later, and based on that and the whole "document" situation with Xander and Unnamed Classmate in Visiting Graves, we know Mai's perfectly fine with going against the grain and doing what she believes is right, despite what society may think. That said, unlike Teruko, her existence isn't actually a threat to the status quo, as she's:
[Mai Quote - Min]: An average girl with nothing special at all about her.
It's worth noting, though, she seems to be eating flowers instead of food. This can be an early indication of her more rebellious leanings (you eat food, not flowers), but I think it could be meant to serve as further contrast with Teruko. Remember how the foods could represent life experiences? Well, "eating flowers" in that sense could mean that Mai actually had a pretty pleasant life, which is entirely possible as, again, ordinary girl. We know from Charles' Mai quote that she loves her family, from Whit's that she has many friends, and from Visiting Graves that she doesn't have money issues. She could certainly have other issues, mind you, but right now we don't have much indication of it.
Oh also the lyric. "We've forgotten the right way to breathe" is just another way the singer has of expressing dissatisfaction with how others act. It seems like it's explicitly ambiguous whether Mai is one of the people who've forgotten the right way to breathe, or one of the people who hold the singer's opinion, playing into the dichotomy of how Mai is first presented here (eating properly) and how she dances on the table later. By the way, the word "we" actually appears and disappears before Mai shows up on screen, while the camera is still in the middle, so take that as you will.
It's all over once we drown What a luxurious dining table!
To quickly cover the lyrics, "drowning" I imagine is an allegory for death. Remember how the singer was upset others "lived in a hurry"? Yeah that. And the "luxurious" dining table thing is once again sarcastic.
You might have been wondering if I was ever going to talk about the things on the table, and don't worry, I am about to, I was just waiting for this wide shot. In general, I think most of what's on it is decorative, as I struggle to find any metaphors hidden in most of the food. The 12 colored biscuits next to Mai may be representative of the 12 members of the cast who are still alive in the killing game, maybe, but I don't think some of the colors match all that well (where does yellow go? why do we have so little blue?). Could also be the altDRDT cast + mascot, as pointed out by accirax. I don't think it's too important to know what this is, so I'll leave it open-ended.
The candles are a point of interest to me, though. The one on Mai's side is taller, but further from her, while the one on Teruko's side is smaller, but closer to her. There are like a billion ways you can interpret that, but I'm gonna choose to think of them as the two girls' "warmth", if that makes sense. Teruko is keeping it closer to herself, not as willing to open up, and the candle's shorter, so she has less warmth to give. Conversely, Mai is more willing to give Teruko her "warmth", as she's a really nice person from what we know, and that warmth is very intense judging from the length of the candle. Works well enough for me.
Finally, the most important part of the table, the cake. Obviously the centerpiece, it has both flowers and a red liquid, which I assume we're meant to see as blood. Notably, the side facing Teruko has the blood on top and the flowers below, possibly representing the way Teruko, at least in CH2, shows off her harsher side to the world while hiding more delicate and complicated feelings. Meanwhile, Mai's side has the blood being covered by the flowers, as if implying that Mai's kindness and love hide a fiercer soul underneath. Given the whole "she was probably staging some kind of revolution against Hope's Peak with Xander based on Visiting Graves" thing, I'd say that's a pretty accurate description of her character. Not to say she's intentionally hiding an evil side or anything, just that her real feelings are more complicated than what her seemingly perfect exterior suggest.
I haven't talked about the flowers because they're drawn the same as the flowers on Mai's tattoo, the Bonus Episode text boxes, and the "flowers of an unknown species" of the LGI MV. If you know the common interpretations, you'll know the two popular options for what they are is white camellias or white mai flowers. White camellias represent purity and honor like other white flowers, though they also specifically represent adoration and respect and are popular funeral flowers in Japan; while Mai flowers represent "prosperity, happiness in the new year, as well as resilience against storms and challenges", and the yellow variation of the flowers is connected to a legend about a girl who died protecting her father and village from a snake monster. Oh yeah Mai's probably dead by the time the killing game starts. 'Cuz, you know.
See that arrow pointing to Mai's portrait when her numeral XI shows up alongside the word God?
Yeah it's not very subtle. Mai's God, Mai's dead. There are other interpretations for this, mind you, but there's also other reasons to believe she's dead, so.
Trash is trash, trash will act like trash Fools are fools, fools will act like fools That's the ironclad rule of society And there's no room to complain
You get the lyrics by now, right? I don't have to point out that this is once again talking about rigid societal rules and expectations? Good!
Everyone everywhere is a nuisance The noisy crowd from earlier
For now, let's dance in the palm of their hands
Yay more pretty animation! :D
Here, the singer once again insults society at large, but also says that "for now, let's dance in the palm of their hands." As in, they're not fully ready to complete go against society yet, and will engage with its expectations for a while longer.
However, we're actually left with a pretty important question: what the fuck is the apple? Apples are usually representative of the âforbidden fruitâ, a temptation or desire which goes against what is accepted. So, perhaps Mai is doing as the lyric on screen says; by discarding the apple, sheâs discarding that which is forbidden by society and âdancing in the palm of their hand.â
Thatâs certainly an understandable interpretation, but I donât find it fully convincing, because it just⌠doesnât fit Mai.
[Mai Quote - Xander]: She couldnât stand to do nothing.
Not only because of the whole ârebelling against Hopeâs Peakâ thing, but because later in this very MV, sheâs seen dancing on the table with Teruko, going against societal expectations.
Additionally, it doesnât explain what giving the apple to the dog would represent. Dogs canât go against human societal norms, as far as I know. So, thatâs another point that would need to be explained in that interpretation.
But maybe the doggy can help us? Maybe we can get to another interpretation through it, because I feel like Iâve seen it somewhere before-
Oh for the love of- Can this stop being the most plot relevant execution of all time???????? I don't want to think about it anymore!!!!!! /silly
Yes, the presence of a black dog/wolf is an explicit callback to Minâs execution. This would draw a connection between the apple and Min. On the surface, there are a few other ways we can connect them, as apples have a lot of associations with a bunch of things. In pop culture, apples are a common gift students give their teachers, and Min is a Student who wished to be a teacher. Allow me to ignore that this could also connect to the About Page Text and altDRDT Teacher real quick, since this connection is very minor and very cherry picked and only works because of the dog that doesnât have ties to those two things.
However, it does bring even more issues with the interpretation I previously mentioned. Because, to put it bluntly, Min is the exact opposite of going against societal norms. Her recap foil is the Rebel, sheâs under the orders of XF-Ture Tech, you know the drill.
Is it possible, then, that the meaning of the apple is the opposite as well? That eating the apple represents accepting societyâs rules? It may seem weird with the associations to forbidden-ness I mentioned earlier, but if you go back and look at the Lone Apple scenes again, this idea gets a bit stronger.
The apple is full when the singer talks about the ironclad rules of society, as if implying that the apple is the ironclad rule. Then, right before we hear the singer talk about dancing in the palm of the hand of the ânoisy crowdâ, the apple is seen eaten, as if eating it is directly connected to dancing in their palm and following the rules. This would be consistent with the appleâs connection to Min, as Min herself is representative of following societal expectations as discussed earlier.
But then, why would it be âforbiddenâ? Well, I propose that weâve been thinking about it wrong. The apple isnât forbidden from societyâs perspective, but from Terukoâs perspective.
Theory: An âUnfortunateâ Point of View
The idea is that the MV doesnât show things from a neutral perspective, but rather, from Terukoâs perspective, specifically. Iâll discuss why I believe this in more detail in a bit, but for now, Iâll ask you to bear with me.
This is the final piece of the puzzle for my take on the apple. Since the world has been unkind to Teruko, playing along with the rules of the world would make you an enemy in her eyes. She has been opposed to them from the very start of this MV, after all. Thus, the act of accepting the âironclad rulesâ, eating the apple and âdancing in the noisy crowdâs palmâ, would be seen by Teruko as eating a forbidden fruit. Therefore, the MV presents it as such, since I believe itâs shown from her perspective.
However, Mai discards the apple, which in this case is consistent with her dancing on the table later. Sheâs forgoing societyâs rules and âthrowing them to the wolves.â
Am I cooking? Am I burning down the kitchen? I have no idea! But thatâs what makes it fun! This whole thing is obviously very up to interpretation, and thereâs not really such a thing as a right or wrong one, really. Iâm very open to hearing other interpretations on this thing.
Btw while weâre here, the wolf thing could also be connected to Elliotâs death, since he likely got killed by dogs as well (long story). In that case, the apple could represent knowledge, as in, the âforbiddenâ knowledge of Elliotâs existence and death. But⌠thatâs kinda really disconnected from the rest of the MV and I donât know how to relate it to the other lines the apple is seen alongside. So, throwing it out there, but I donât think thereâs a connection there.
Finally, I donât think Maiâs the mastermind. Yes, I know that her throwing something to a wolf could be an allegory to her executing Min. But as stated earlier, itâs likely sheâs already dead, and itâs kinda hard to mastermind a killing game from beyond the grave. You could connect it, in a more roundabout way, to theories that Maiâs death caused the killing game, but I donât think it can really go further than that.
Gather around the pure white table Dance on spinning dishes, oh no We've forgotten the right way to breathe Letâs continue until we drown
Same lyrics as before, except for the change of âletâs continue until we drown.â It fits with Teruko lying on the table, not really doing anything. See, I believe this moment represents one where Teruko has given up on actively fighting, and is just deciding to go along with the flawed society she lives in. If I compared her eating with her hands earlier with her attitude at the start of CH2, this could be compared to her attitude when MonoTV told her sheâd get executed but before Levi jumped in. That is, resigned and just letting things happen. This bouncing between harsh and âsocially condemnedâ methods of self-preservation and resignation to her fate is a common thing for Teruko, I find.
Go ahead, enjoy the sour and sweet as you please Forever uncertain, Iâve held onto this poison Let it make my cells dance With those sharp-edged words! Our pain, we couldnât choose any of it Look, itâs spinning round and round On the dining table of âlifeâ
Yeah remember that thing about Teruko resigning herself to her fate and bad luck? âOur pain, we couldnât choose any of itâ is pretty in line with that. Terukoâs just accepted that bad things will happen, the worldâs terrible and her existence is suffering. Hence, âenjoy the sour and sweet as you pleaseâ while sheâs lying on the table; sheâs a meal ready to be consumed by those who hurt her at their whims.
And who do I mean by âthose who hurt herâ? Well, if you didnât catch it, the type of knife and its placement is a clear echo of Xander stabbing Teruko. Now, judging by several of her statements through the series, Xander isnât the only person whoâs ever hurt her, but he does work as a stand-in. Someone Teruko trusted has stabbed her in the⌠Iâd say back but it was really the stomach, and she thinks this is what will always happen if she opens herself to hoping things will be better. She wants to, to some extent (âforever uncertainâ), but she knows it will still hurt her eventually (the poison âmaking her cells danceâ).
Well, except.
Here Mai is, pointing a knife away from Teruko. Defending her, possibly. This is the same knife she held at the start, the one which seemed to suggest Mai was playing by the rules of society. Except, sheâs now taken those things, and is now using it to point at whoever may want to âeatâ Teruko. That could represent a couple of things, but the most straightforward idea for me is that several of the things that make Mai a standup member of society are also just good traits for a friendship, such as her kindness and compassion.
Now, the next section has a lot of repeated images, so Iâm just going to describe what shows up with each lyric.
[Mai pointing knife from uninjured Teruko] Now, gather around the pure white table Dance on spinning dishes, oh no [Teruko stabbed, alone] Weâve forgotten the right way to breathe [Mai holding knife, Teruko hidden] Itâs all over once we drown (What luxurious dining table!)
(Btw you can know if Teruko is injured or not by facial expression, if you were wondering how I could tell)
Chorus, we know the lyrics. However, Iâd like to point out that the line âweâve forgotten the right way to breatheâ is shown with Teruko injured and no Mai, possibly implying that being alone is âthe wrong way to breatheâ as it gets Teruko injured. Thatâs my favorite interpretation for that, anyways. Also ominous showing Mai front and center when talking about drowning as an allegory for death, but frankly? This is the first âdeadâ allegation sheâs caught this entire video, and seeing how she managed to catch, like, three in the two seconds her numeral shows up in LGI alone, Iâm actually quite proud of her! She may not be beating the allegations, but at least she's not getting one per scene!
Now, play a pure black elegy Letâs dance on the palm of your hand, oh no How does it feel to be devoured by the prey you once mocked?
Letâs start by focusing on whatâs happening with Teruko in in the background, because itâs quite sweet. Not only does she start smiling and crying in joy, her stomach is covered in Maiâs signature flowers. This is pretty clear; Maiâs kindness has âfixedâ the injuries other people had caused Teruko, her flowers covering up the Xander related injury that serves as a stand-in for all the betrayals Terukoâs endured over the years.
Admittedly, such heartwarming visuals are a bit of a contrast to the line âplay a pure black elegyâ, which if you donât know is a âpoem of serious reflection, usually a lament for the deadâ, and the whole âdevoured by the prey you once mockedâ thing. However, thatâs presumably because Mai is still very much holding a knife up to someone, so we can get away with some darker stuff.
I choose to interpret these lines as these two effectively talking to the status quo of Terukoâs life, if that makes sense. With Maiâs help, Terukoâs finally regained the courage to fight against her fate and stand up again, looking to âdevourâ the vague enemy of her luck whom she was always the prey to. The elegy, then, is aimed at this vague enemy, who they seek to defeat and âkill.â Does that make sense?
And this is the final link I need to explain my aforementioned âthis MV is from Terukoâs perspectiveâ theory. Because, you see, I believe this entire MV shows a story, and thereâs an arc about Mai and Terukoâs friendship which can be followed. I believe this MV represents the process of Teruko befriending Mai, from Terukoâs perspective.
Think about it. It starts with Teruko and Mai literally opposed to one another, and Mai effectively being shown as one of the people who âwears the same faceâ as the others, given sheâs following proper table manners. Sheâs nothing special, just someone else who will betray Teruko eventually, hence Terukoâs almost angry expression on that table. Someone who will bite that âforbidden fruitâ that is the ironclad rule of the world. Trash will be trash, fools will be fools, and Teruko will be unlucky and get betrayed.
But then, Mai rejects the apple. And when she grabs the knife again, she points it away from Teruko, even when Teruko was lying on the table and ready to get hurt again. This is also, by the way, the first time Mai opens her eyes in the MV; the first time Teruko and her see eye to eye (per se). Because Mai always trusted Teruko, always wanted to be her friend, and only now is that good faith being returned. Well, I assume she never had any bad intentions, anyways.
Look, from how Mai is usually presented, she may as well be perfect in my books. If I catch her burning an orphanage, Iâd probably assume the orphans deserved it. This is hyperbole, of course, but only barely.
And so, Mai has officially broken through Terukoâs bad luck and allowed her to âdevourâ that horrid fate which had always been pushing her down, allowing them to finally dance together in the end, smiling all the while.
Now, obviously, this makes 15000 assumptions as to how Mai and Teruko actually met, what their relationship was like, etc. There are a million things I may have just gotten horribly wrong. But as always, we know too little about Mai to make any good theories without a lot of assumptions. And with the little we do know, this interpretation makes sense in my mind, so itâs the one Iâm currently going with!
Go ahead, enjoy the sour and sweet as you please Forever certain, weâve been waiting for love Let these cells dance With that completely decayed mind! Nothing will be taken from us Our pain and everything is spinning On the dining table of âlifeâ What a luxurious foolâs table!
Look, by this point, youâve heard what this scene is all about. Mai and Teruko finally both throw away the rules of society and dance upon the table together, not caring what they destroy or messy up in the process. Theyâre more certain now, because theyâve found the love they were looking for, and feel like nothing will go wrong because ânothing will be taken from us.â The painâs still there, but theyâll face it together! What a wonderfully hopeful ending! Ignore that Mai's probably dead please.
And since this partâs pretty easy, it gives me time to appreciate the yuri!
You see, this may be something Iâve only ever brought up once, but Teru-Min-Mai is my favorite DRDT ship, and it has been for a while. And while I canât find any excuse to talk about Min for longer than I already have (a tragedy, I know), I can spare some time to spread the Terumai side of the Agenda, at least! Iâve seen a few people start thinking about shipping it too because of this MV, so let me make a sales pitch. Ehem.
-Opposing themes: Youâve heard of the âdearly unlovedâ and âdearly lovedâ thing from the portraits, but did you know red and green are complimentary colors?
-Looking for each other: I mean, just look at what can show up on Maiâs page.
[Mai Quote - Teruko]: Some years ago, she was searching for someone named 'Teruko Tawaki.'
Come on. Whyâre you so interested in looking for her if not to kiss her on the lips?
-Matching phone charms: We see that Terukoâs monopad has a phone charm in 2-1, which she shares with Unnamed Classmate. Btw, Maiâs profile states she likes phone charms :)
-Matching tattoos?: Maiâs iconic flower tattoo is on her left arm, and Terukoâs left arm has always been conspicuously hidden from us. But from the jacket off reference, it seems there is something important there. And from the only time weâve ever had even a glimpse of it, it seems like she may be hiding the same tattoo as Mai.
-Dream sequences: Teruko literally dreams of Mai in her 1-6 dream sequence. And her dialogue there couldnât hold more fondness if it tried.
It's strange I would remember her now, of all times. What was her name again? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't remember. Xander always reminded me of that girl. Perhaps that's why I'm thinking about her now. They looked similar, with that same red hair and smile. And... they both wanted to help, didn't they?
-Terukoâs favorite color is red âby associationâ: Considering Xander stabbed her, I think the association comes from someone else. Imagine loving someone so much they change your favorite color wow.
-Apocalyptic levels of doomed: Weâre DRDT fans, we enjoy our yuri when itâs doomed. And the second anniversary art makes the doomed-ness pretty clear.
(I have to remake this collage there's like three pixels on it total lol)
The code translates to âItâs all your fault.â Combined with Mai likely being dead, you can put two and two together that Teruko might blame herself for Mai's demise, or at least she would if she had all her memories. This is doomed as can be.
-This entire MV: Like come on.
Anyways, ship Terumai. Or donât, I really donât care about shipping much and you can do what you want forever. This is just so newer fans arenât hopelessly confused on why these two are together in this MV and seem to be about two seconds from proposing to each other; the basis for them being really good friends, if nothing else, has always been there.
Anyways, the video ends with a curtain closing, because weâve been interpreting life as a stage to dance upon, so itâs a natural way to close things out. If you wanted a sadder reading, you could take the idea that Teruko ends up seeing her relationship with Mai as a play, an act that would always end eventually, because it was too good to last when taking her luck into account. The yuri is even more doomed than we expected, I fear.
-
And that should be it! What a wonderful MV this was! Itâs nice to really get insight into what Teruko and Maiâs relationship looked like, sort of, and I know Iâll personally savor some of these frames forever. Loved it. Happy 5th anniversary everyone, and happy birthday Mai! Thanks for reading! See yaâ!

Cross My Heart
Part 11 - More Then Friends
Summary: eventual poly141 x reader. Enemies to lovers, mini fic.
CW: mentions of blood, its all fluff.
Previous parts - masterlist - next AO3
Enjoy <3
Price, Ghost and Gaz left first. Leaving before the sun was up in a somewhat hectic rush. Their plan was to get over the border then commandeer a car or something. Price said it could be a few days before you hear from them but they will send word.Â
Soap sulked down the stairs an hour or so later, when the sun was just peaking through the clouds. You canât wait to leave here and never come back. The whole blood soaked place can burn to the ground for all you care.
âThey left already.â You say as he comes to sit on the sofa next to you.
âI know. Si- Ghost came to say bye.â He shuffles on the couch rubbing his burnt arm. Youâll need to change the dressing before you leave. âWe should get going soon. We need to get a car. Itâs easier to do while itâs still dark out.âÂ
You follow Soapâs orders in silence, the lack of sleep is finally catching up with you. You change the dressing as Soap grits his teeth complaining about itching. You have no idea if itâs healing or if its still supposed to look the way it does. Itâs only been a day or so anyway.Â
When youâre done Soap steals some supplies- mostly food -from the safehouse and you set out to look for a vehicle. It doesnât take you long to find a rather old looking car, you keep an eye out while Soap hotwires it like heâs done this a thousand times. Before you know it youâre on the road driving back to Sakhra.
âWhatâre you thinking about?â He asks after at least an hour of silence, you were starting to doze off. His question jolts you awake and you look over at him.Â
âWhy did you kiss me?â You ask. He smiles.
âI just had to, youâre stunning lass.â He says, it makes you blush. You turn to look out the window of the car.Â
âDonât falter me, a few days ago you would have put a bullet in my head.âÂ
âYeah, weâre not merciless killers though.â You scoff, theyâre soldiers, they're trained killers. You sit there in silence.Â
âYouâre a good kisser.â He says suddenly.Â
âWhat- I mean. It was just a kiss.â You say feeling embarrassed, he just laughs. That annoys you, heâs being so chill about it, what if Price found out? What if he finds out then decides youâre a liability?
âYou all seem close.â You say trying to move the subject on from you and Johnny.Â
âCloser than you think.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?âÂ
âWeâre a close unit. Worked together for years. When you spend so much time together, you develop a strong relationship.â He says switching between watching the road and your expression. You have an eyebrow raised, you expected him to continue.Â
âBrothers in arms right?â You say, youâve heard that before from soldiers.
âMore than that.â You shake your head scoffing. Heâs playing with you, trying to wind you up. What's closer than brothers?Â
âYou fucking each other or somthing.â You joke back. He doesnât say anything, you turn back to look at him frowning. Heâs just smiling, the cheekiest grin you think youâve ever seen. âReally? Youâre messing with me.â He just laughs, it doesnât help you decide if heâs joking or not.
You let out a sigh looking out at the winding road. Youâre not far now.

When you make it back to the ULF base the place is almost empty. You both head straight to the doctor who fixes your stitches and tends to Soapâs arm as well as giving him a pot of burn cream and instructions.Â
When youâre done you both go to see Farah. Alex is with her, they both look tired. The table is filled with maps dotted with big red Xâs. You look round as Soap catches them up on what happened. You wonder if Price has sent word yet, you hope theyâre okay.
â-We take out Konni, before they make it any further south.â Farah says, you look over at them, catching the end of the conversation.Â
âWe donât know if Konni are moving or not. Price will be able to give us some idea.â Soap says.
âWe could be waiting days for that.â Alex says crossing his arms, he doesnât have a sling anymore, maybe his arm was just sprained.
âThey attacked their own bases?â You ask pointing at the map.Â
âThey want to shift the blame to us.â Farah says.
âThe fact they used American weapons on civilians has got the US all wound up.â Alex says.
âTheyâre spreading us thin, Iâve already lost 20 men. We canât fight them on the front without leaving ourselves open to attacks.â Farah sighs.
âYou have weapons from the US, why not fight back?â You ask. Thereâs silence, people look around at you like youâve just asked them to do something impossible.Â
âIf we fire on them we lose our advantage.â She says.
âWhich is?â Soap asks.
âIf the Americans come, they wonât be after us.â She says. You look down at the map, the new line Al Qatala have formed. Thereâs no news if Konni or Al Qatala forces have made a move from the border, it seems like theyâre waiting for the ULF to make a move first.Â
Itâs too many targets for Farah to handle alone.Â
âWhat about hitting them at the source? Take out the rest of their weapons.â You say pointing at the farm you know theyâve been storing munitions and rockets.
âThey were fired from Russia.â Alex said.
âNo, they were fired from inside the country. I bet if it's going to be anywhere itâs there.â You tap the map. Farah and Alex look at eachother.Â
âA full scale raid is not possible.â She says, stepping back from the table.
âWe could go in quiet.â Soap says. âJust the 4 of us.âÂ
âThe place will be heavily guarded. They could have also moved them elsewhere.â Farah says.
âEven if we donât find the missiles we will deal a pretty big blow to their resources.â Soap says. âYou need all the help you can get.âÂ
âOkay. Tonight, you should get some rest.â Farah says. Soap smiles at her and Alex. He grabs your arm gently pulling you out of the room. Youâre heading down to the sleeping quarters before Soap grabs your arm pulling you into a store room.Â
âHey!â You call, you almost trip over something as his hands grab your shoulders and he pushes you up against the wall. Before you have a chance to say anything his lips lock onto yours. His kiss is needy, his tongue pressing into your mouth. You hum, closing your eyes and letting your hands drop to his waist.Â
âJohnny.â You breathe as he pulls his lips off you, his mouth moving to your neck. His handsÂ
âWhat?â He asks, heâs not stopping though, running his tongue up your neck.
âWhat if Price found out?âÂ
âWhat do you mean?â He says. âWant him to join, I reckon heâll be down for that.â He chuckles, now youâre convinced he's winding you up. You push your hands up his shirt and he grip your waist, his fingers digging into your skin, youâre sure heâll be leaving marks. You run your fingers up his chest, feeling each muscle and scar. Heâs hairy, you donât care, now youâre getting needy, his lips running over you sucking on the sensitive spots on your neck.Â
He looks up down at you, his hands come to hold your face. âIâm so glad I got you first. I thought I was going to have to fight off Gaz, or Price.â You frown at him but before you can press him further he kisses you. You drop your hands from his chest, gripping his waist and pulling him closer to you.Â
Suddenly thereâs a knock at the door. You freeze, you didnât think anyone knew you were in here.
âSoap? Thereâs word from Price.â itâs Alexâs voice. Johnny smiles down at you.
âWeâll finish this later.â He says quietly before reaching over to open the door. You feel yourself blushing as Alex raises an eye at you both. Johnny slaps him on the shoulder and they walk away.

people are wondering about loop in the au where the party stops siffrin from using the dagger in dormont and the ensuing conversation breaks the loops so let's see...
Siffrin would still want to go see Loop first thing afterwards, but everyone else would be verrry worried about him going off alone. He tries to inconspicuously wander off but Isabeau is immediately like, "Heyy buddy where are you off to? Mind if I come with?" Siffrin feels guilty for selfishly making everyone feel obligated to not leave him alone, and getting them all worried about an issue that isn't even what it looked like. So he's kinda hoping they won't be so worried about him now that they've beat the king and decided to stay together... but he's also afraid that if they stop worrying, they'll decide, okay, no need to stay together after all.
But luckily Siffrin doesn't have to sort all of that out right now, because they know Loop has complicated feelings about the party and doesn't want to see them, so they know they have to go by themself if they want a chance of talking to them.
They try to play it casual, "I'm just going to the favor tree, you don't have to come with me." But two can play at surface-level manners so Isabeau says "I want to, though, it's no trouble!" Siffrin doesn't want to refuse him point-blank, but they really want to talk to Loop... so they go back and forth another time or two before Isabeau's like "Look. You understand why I'm worried about you suddenly going off for no apparent reason, right? On your own, when you've been glued to my side for the last half hour? I... I don't want to stop you,'' (Does that mean that he wouldn't? Or that he would, but he'd be sorry about it?) "but I would feel a lot better about it if you brought someone with you? Doesn't have to be me. Or at least explained why you're going...? Sorry, I know it must be so annoying to have to explain your every move, but... it's been less than a day, since. y'know. And I'd be... I just want you to stay safe."
And oh, Siffrin hates that he's made Isabeau so upset, that he messed up so bad yesterday and that he's making it worse right now, that he's made him so concerned over nothing. So he hesitantly, carefully explains, "There's someone I want to talk to. at the favor tree. I... talked to them there yesterday? And. they might be there again today, but. they definitely won't talk to me if any of you are with me." And, okay, it's reassuring that Siffrin has a reason, and it doesn't even seem he's lying, but. Isabeau can't help but be worried anyway. Especially because this is apparently someone Siffrin talked to at right about the same time that he started acting weird, yesterday? What if this person made Siffrin feel worse, what if they did something that pushed Siffrin over the edge??
But he knows that's edging past reasonable concern into paranoia, so he just asks, "Would it be alright if I walked you to the edge of town at least? Since you're still kinda woozy, and, that way I'll be in earshot if you need me...?" And Siffrin agrees, very relieved to have found a compromise and actually glad for the continued company. And it occurs to them that Isabeau might be less worried about them if they didn't have their dagger on them, and, the day has already been saved... So he gives Isabeau his dagger, along with a promise that he's not gonna do that, and Isabeau does seem happier!
So off they go through Dormont. Isabeau stops farther back on the path just a bit before the bend, where he won't be able to see Siffrin or overhear casual conversation, but could definitely hear a shout and coming running. And Siffrin goes to the tree, and sees the coin, and... twohats ensues! The dialogue is somewhat different, though, because they never did entirely figure it out in the end, did they? They had started learning about wish craft, but Loop hadn't quite connected it yet and of course Siffrin refused to look at their own wish. And then, what a dramatic final loop!
So. More along the lines of, "That was it? Really? You just had to kill yourself in front of them to get everything you ever wanted? To break the loops? To never be alone again? To guilt them into staying forever, because they think you're going to slit your own blinding throat if they let you out of their sight? Sure! Whatever it takes! Never let anyone tell you suicide threats don't work~" and "Do you know how many times I killed myself? How many more times I died?? Did I just not do it right? Wrong time, wrong place? Did I not suffer enough? Was I not selfish enough? What did I do wrong!! Why do you get to escape and not me! I deserve this happy ending, not you!! Why do you get to stay with them and not me!!!"
But, hm. Loop was kinda really raising their voice there at the end, weren't they?
Loop's voice still sounds a bit odd â part inhuman form, part new habit, part intense emotion â but, they're not putting active effort into keeping up the mask right now. Not when they're this upset. Not when Siffrin already knows. And Isabeau hasn't seen Loop yet; he just heard their voice. And a couple of the things that voice said.
So Isabeau makes it around that corner while Loop is speaking more quietly. And then Loop says "STARS, killing you will make me SO HAPPY," and Siffrin reaches for their dagger and freezes as he realizes and remembers it's gone, and Isabeau speeds up, and Loop looks up and see him and freezes too.
And Isabeau says, "Sif?? I thought you promised you weren't going to kill yourself over here???"
Long story short, Loop panics and runs, Siffrin follows while shouting things trying to convince them to come back, so of course Isabeau follows too, and Siffrin almost collapses because they're still craft exhausted. Loop gives up and lets them catch up, and I do mean gives up, they just wanna lay down and die, if you can't go out with a bang there's nothing wrong with a whimper. But Siffrin and Isabeau refuse to leave them there, so they wait around and talk at them, and then run out of things to say and wait some more. Eventually Mirabelle finds them and she's very upset and glad they're okay, and at that point Loop gives up on giving up and quietly follows them back to Dormont, so Siffrin won't get himself more sick and all his friends more worried, staying out in the forest all night.
And so! The party knows who Loop is from the very start, but not anything about the time loops! Just that something very strange must have happened, to end up with two Siffrins and one of them a star.
#why didn't loop fade away...? because i said so#umm something something isabeau was there (and recognized them!) and so even though loop did want to die and/or be anywhere else#they also wanted to stay. juust enough to keep them there.#isat#loop#siffrin & isabeau & loop#thoughts#thoughts about loop#suicide mention#isat spoilers#swear to fuck i'm not gonna write anything else about this but i suppose i'll keep the two posts (ONLY TWO) in a dedicated tag#(i accidentally spent my whole saturday on this đ i had things to do đđ)#NOT gonna put effort into a good name though#dagger ending au

I NEED ANDRE AND CAL HCS!
Sure thing !! Hope you like! :3
General Andre and Cal Headcanons,,
Calvin tends to âtune outâ Andreâs words whenever heâs explaining instructions to himâ whether it be related to their Zero Day plans, board game rules, or other related topics. He frequently goes âHuh?â or âHmmh?â when heâs not paying attention, to which Andre has to remind him about the topic and repeat his words over again. But he knows that Calvin canât help it, and he generally doesnât mind reminding him about different thingsâ like homework, tests, etc. considering he has a better memory than Cal.
Andre and Cal watch malware-infested gore videos to further desensitize themselves to death and to sort of mentally prepare for Zero Day, and for the sake of watching people die. With the lack of concern yet interest in Calâs eyes, Andre is both a little surprised, yet mostly unsurprised that Calvin reacts so indifferently to shock videos. Heâd be a hypocrite if he labeled it as unsettling, after all. Their repeated pattern of watching these sorts of torture videosâ especially when Cal can find âgood onesâ (in his words) at leastâ stemmed from the discovery of a website that showcased the aftermaths of car accidents. And after doing a little digging, Cal stumbled upon the leaked cartel videos section. He introduced the videos to Andre, and the other teen found himself getting intrigued by such graphic matter. Calvin describes the grislier videos as the âgood videosâ.
Calvin can definitely be a bit emotionally manipulative during arguments. Whenever Andre is provoked, grows visibly enraged, and blurts something out he doesnât mean, Cal uses this to somewhat control Andre. And when he definitely wants to win the argument, he threatens to tell Andreâs cousin, his absent brother, or his parents about what he said. Andre may or may not care, since it really depends on why theyâre bickering. But usually, he does care, and even though he tries not to let Cal influence his behaviors, especially during these negatively-charged moments, he doesnât want anyone to find out about what he saidâ and definitely not family. Because in his eyes, this may raise suspicion and could result in their peers finding out about Zero Day. When he does decide to grow quiet, Cal is like, âYeah, so shut the fuck up.â But his exploitative tactics donât always work, and they could further influence Andreâs emotions.
Andre rarely apologizes when he means it. He kinda just says âSorry,â after bumping into someone out of habit. He was taught to be respectful, but 90% of the time he doesnât care about what he did wrong. Even during arguments, when Calvin is trying to state how he fucked up, Andre will tell him to get over it. Most of the time, he does care about aspects of their dynamic that do matter. But in some moments, he wonât, and heâll just kept doing whatever it is heâs doing. To elaborate, if Cal told him to control himself and to stop being âdramaticâ, Andre wouldnât take him into consideration and would turn the tables by criticizing him about something he cares about and Cal doesnât.
Calvin and Andre share clothes sometimes. To Cal, seeing Andre in his clothes is quite flattering. Andre thinks rings are cool, too, so heâll wear them occasionally. Also, he likes to wear Calâs bracelets and necklaces to feel closer to him, on top of matching dog tags with him.
Andre is an energy drinker. His favorite is Red Bull. Cal drinks a lot of soda and prefers Coca-Cola or Mountain Dew over anything else. While Calvin does enjoy having an energy drink sometimes, often sharing a Red Bull with Andre as energy drinks contain a lot of caffeine, he doesnât really drink them on his own time.
When Andre and Cal first started planning Zero Day, as they began to practice handling their guns and shooting, they would frequently argue about the correct order and anatomy of the firearm parts they were using. Chris had to step in a couple times to calm them down. Cal insisted that he was right, while Andre insisted that he was right. In general, they have a hard time accepting that either one of them could be rightâ about anything, really, with the two determined to prove the other wrong and to âget on their high horseâ. However, it isnât uncommon for both boys to end up being wrong, especially if the conflict is similar to their gun-related issues.

hello hello!!! random question before i get started on work haha
how do you come up with dialogue for ur hms comics? the back n forth of them feels so heavy and realistic. especially the casualness paired with the bleeding-brooding (alliteration for fun) violence makes everything just. hit. in a tragic and hopeless way imo. itâs so neat :0
iâve been trying that kind of writing out a bit lately too. this is what iâve managed with my iambic pentameter gang (hms but rain world iterator). MiND is being threatened by the rage pent up inside himself. and, strangely enough, it has the voice of HeART.
constructive feedback is welcome ^_^!
once again, hello hello! sending good wishes and all :]. i love ur work ^_^ đ
oooo hmm... this isnt something ive ever really thought about trying to explain, thank you for the question! big fan of the posing in the piece youve added here btw, i like the alliteration in 'heliocentric heathen' B:â˘â
honestly the way i go about writing them isnt something i feel i can put into words with a clear structure of process... often with my comics it starts with me simply having a vague idea of 'i want to make a comic today', and drawing what feels right to lead into it. the words typically link in with the actions as well - i usually draw something, draw the next thing, write a bit of dialogue, draw the next thing, write more dialogue.... not in that exact order but the words always feel to be a reaction to the actions and the actions are a reaction to the words (and/or, words and actions work in tandem). people rarely talk in a vacuum, especially when theyre having the conversation in person, so i find it helpful to see the actions as part of the dialogue and vice versa.
occasionally ive scripted out dialogue beforehand (always with actions included within the script.) but even with a script what actually is said needs to adjust with whats been drawn. when i dont write with a script (which is the norm), its often while im drawing the next frame that im thinking over whats being said. typically i just go over and over a sentence mentally, adjusting bits until it feels right, looking at it once its written on the page and adjusting it more if necessary.
perhaps a bit vague? apologies! i do have certain mental rules i try keep in mind for each of the threes characters while writing. 'how would heart respond, how would he word this? mind? i cant word it this way because i know he doesnt do this...' <subconscious questions and thoughts but they are important to keep in mind. i find it the most helpful to keep the core traits i personally see in them in mind, and let those traits kind of... guide what is said. if i think of how that collection of traits and facets would respond to something, the vague concept that creates can then go through the filters of dialogue traits i have in mind for them. ...ehhh, put more simply... 'what is the general response this character would have to this situation' and then 'how would they structure that response through words and/or actions?'.
i, being who i am, cccc being what it is, am somewhat naturally inclined to writing grim and bleeding-brooding (nice word) things. i also consider myself to be quite a grounded person, which i hope comes through in my work! however, natural inclinations aside, cccc itself is quite a bleeding-brooding album (at least it is to me). its one about depression and self hatred and it really doesnt pull many punches in that respect. or at least, thats my read on it! as a result, that becomes reflected in my interpretation of hms. however, id also note that cccc is silly at times, theres humor in it. all good grim things need a bit of levity to really make it feel Real... people joke in the worst of times, not just the best, and it really helps in writing serious things to have just a little bit of joke to it, even if its not immediately noticable... this is hard to really give examples of honestly but it is relevant i promise. im unsure if youve read much of my writing aside from my comics, but theres just a bit of absurdity and humor in both my cccc pieces that would make the writing feel sorely lacking without in my opinion. notable with how violent and tense both those pieces are.
lots of words now! hopefully helpful ones B:â˘] or at least interesting! ill try write out some of the core traits and details i keep in mind when writing hms so as to give better reference points to all my prior words:
heart: reactive, not instigative. he doesnt start fights, he finishes them. he also doesnt need an insane amount of prompting to get going... but he does need prompting. apathetic, a bit fanciful. hes depressed, and not in a cute way. he talks casually but he uses serious words. no point in simplifying his language - he wants to be taken seriously, and while he makes himself look small and weak at times he is Not weak and he is Not small. hes just as much of a wordsmith as the other two. he covers his mouth when he speaks sometimes, and he puts his hand over his chest... a bit defensive? muffling his own input, but notably he still speaks. lies by omission or by twisting facts - if full honesty helps his case, thats what he uses. if a white lie works better... i personally see him as a bit of a planner too. sometimes his reaction to things is built up to; it never comes out of nowhere, even if it may seem like it.
mind: instigative, less reactive. he still reacts to things but hes generally the one starting shit and hes honestly very bad at Not talking shit. uses contractions. <this is a small one but mind says 'dont' and 'cant' and i dont think ive ever heard him Not use contractions to any notable degree. kind of weak! hes proud of himself, very proud of himself, and even in the moments of the album where theyre getting along he cant drop his superiority complex. hes bad at making compromises that put him as the lesser one. hes also quick to point blame and to lie (even if hes a bit roundabout abt it). hes also not That smart - or at least, hes not any smarter than the other two. he Thinks hes smart and hes quite confident about that but that doesnt actually mean hes right lol. aggressive verbally, passive physically. hypocritical.
both of them tend to see soul as an afterthought, or as something to benefit from. note the 'something', not 'someone'. imo, they dont really see him as a valid living entity in the same way they see themselves. speaking of soul...
soul: hes difficult. hes a difficult and complicated guy. vague, fanciful, depressed, suicidal, tired... i personally see him as quite passive. both passive and active... hes violent, towards himself and towards the others. just as they dont see him as an individual, i believe hes too apathetic and burnt out to see them as individuals either. when he threatens to hang himself, thats a direct threat to the two if them as well - and it functions as one, seeing as they are all linked in that way! his suicidality isnt purely self destructive in the way it would be in other story contexts which i find important to remember. i see him as someone who sleeps a lot... and as someone who is treated more like a tool than anything else. but he is, simultaneously, idealistic. he hopes for the best and would do anything (Anything.) to try and achieve it. he wants things to Get Better or to Stop. most of the time when i write or draw him its within the 'Stopping is the only option to Get Better' stage of things. hes tired and he doesnt want to deal with things but he has to and he doesnt want to and hes at the end of his rope. honestly within the album he feels a bit like a ghost. hes granted a similar level of personhood as the shadow of what could be, which is both more and less than mind and heart get.... hes confusing! hea a difficult guy. honestly you can take a lot of my notes and thoughts on his character with a grain of salt because hes always been such a puzzle to me haha. i find him easiest to convey in art... OH yes one last thought/trait is hes a bit... arrogant? hes tired and hes careless. listen to me or fuck off and die. arrogant. what a guy.
ahaaha this kinda became me just rambling about my reads on the three but.. hopefully helpful!! this is all stuff i try keep in mind when im writing and drawing them. theres certainly nuances ive missed and things i havent worded as well as i could, but you get the idea i hope! all of that informs how i write them and... in a way they almost lead me through the piece.
also! this isnt something i often think about because its just a natural part of the process, but sometimes i end up scrapping stuff! entire paragraphs, panels and poses, because it hits a stasis where i cant find any way for one or the other to continue the interaction - theres a distinct difference between this and the interaction hitting its ending point. if ive written one person saying or doing something and none of the parties involved are able to respond in any way at all, thats a sign that ive conveyed their characters wrong and i need to go back. people *always* have a response to something, whether thats continuing the conversation or leaving or anything. if none of them can come up with a response that feels like them, ive messed up somewhere. dont be afraid to go back and rewrite things.
ummm yeah thats all i can think of to say now! thank you for the question, and thank you for the nice words!! B:â˘â im very happy my comics come off the way youve described, and very happy youve enjoyed my work enough to want to ask me about it!! means a lot to me B:â˘] your rainworld iterator hms concept sounds swag as hell, id just say to keep at it!! from what youve shown here youve already got a great start B:â˘â thank you again! hope you and anyone else reading this has a good week!
#calamarispeaks#ask#thewandererh#ahhh what the hell ill maintag this. kinda became a mild character study#chonny jash#cccc#i have Got to do more comics guyssss#im planning a comic for hms magical girls.... still need to flesh some things out but this is a rare scripted comic methinks#dont want to make it too big in my head tho or else i wont be happy with it hah#alsooo all of the writing abt hms traits is ultimately just my read on things!! as fallible as anyone elses B:â˘]#i think abt them a lot i reaaallly like these guys... heeheee

Big Wild west smp lore Theory
Spoilers for all recent Wild west smp lore! A few Disclaimers bevor:
I donât know how coherent this will be as I do not keep up with all POVs but I has the theory for so long now and with the talk Spur, Jax and Olwyn had about what Sniper said in Jaxperâs last stream it just became more real.
This also might be a bit of a long one so it goes to Tumblr as to not overflow the Discord.
I hope this makes sense. Itâs essencially a big brain dump because I need the theory out there in case I call it and in general. I apologize for grammar errors.
---
Alright here we go.
Things we know so far:
Ness has confirmed that he is a computer or something similar to at least Olwyn
Ness has also referenced to others as âplayersâ and âentitiesâ
There is a higher entity outside that can heat and see everything and is the reason Ness has to write certain things in Number code
Sniper consistently refers to themselves and a few other people on the island as âNot realâ
Sniper said they are âas real as the ground they stand onâ
Jay âbecame realâ
Sniper says they were created
X is here to help the island
---
Now I want to mention a Film and a Series,
âThe Trueman showâ (should be familiar to people) and a series called âWestworldâ
2 disclaimers:
Westworld is an ADULT SHOW if you are a minor PLEASE DONâT WATCH IT
I have watched neither of them, I just mention them here for what they are roughly about because its important
The Trueman show:
âThe Truman Show is a TV classic all over the world. Since his birth, Truman Burbank has been the main character of the series without even knowing it. Producer Christof designed an artificial world in which Truman is observed by over 5,000 cameras 24 hours a day. To keep the facade from collapsing, his wife, friends and relatives are all actors. In episode 10,909, however, various accidental incidents occur that make Truman suspicious.â (google)
Westworld:
âIn the 2050s, Delos Inc. operates several theme parks, including the American Old West-themed Westworld. Each environment is populated by the "Hosts", biomechanical robots indistinguishable from humans. The Hosts are programmed to fulfill the guests' every desire, and will engage inâand be subjected toâevery kind of violent and/or sexual activity. However, the Hosts' programming makes it impossible for them to harm any living thing or allow the guests to be harmed. The park's operators create narratives for these Hosts to carry out while interacting with guests, but the Hosts' memories are wiped after each narrative is completed. Delos Inc. asserts that the Hosts, being machines and hence incapable of experiencing pain, cannot be truly harmed by these scenarios the same way that a human would be.â  (Wikipedia)
---
Now to my Theory:
I believe that the Island is somewhat of a Stage or something similar. Like a place marketed as âfun Wild West experienceâ to people. Be that an actual place or a digital world / game. The people that are âfrom the islandâ are either actors, robits or as we chat know âNPCsâ.
The Cacti Hivemind
In my mind Senspa is already in a robots body and Ness and Senspa are like computer programs. Thatâs why the cactus hivemind exists. Its not real or magic in any way. Its just a âSenspa Programmâ basically being installed into a new cacti body.
Jay
Jay âbecoming realâ is him gaining his own sentience that he was not supposed to have. Its what Sniper talks about when they have Jay. Jay is not supposed to have to eat, or sleep or love but because of the way Jay is he developed this love for the people around him and got sentience. Making him real. Now they still are linked to the others, able to sense Sniper, Jax and Spur and according to Sniper is something âin betweenâ. Jay is not like the players. He is still and NPC or Programm. But he is no longer just that / mainly that.
Ness
The same thing happened to Ness. They where originally installed to help Senspa get back into the original program. To stop senspa from gaining consciousness too. Thatâs why it was also programmed with the sense of âNot interferingâ as to not get attached and not develop that Love for the People.
Weird ways of talking / Not able to say certain things
Its also the reason why, I think, Scout talks so wildly and explaines things with analogys like the âMilktooth clawâ thing and why Sniper, Senspa and Redbite could not say certain things. Not because something they are afraid of would hut them. No they can literally Not say certain things and Ness talks in code about certain things. It goes against their programming to say things so they have to talk around it.
Jaxper and Spur
Jaxper and Spur with the X in them are, according to Sniper, Something else. They are no like Sniper, mainly NPC/ Programm, or like Jay, between an NPC that is no longer mainly that. I think both Jax and Spur are still considered âplayersâ that uploaded / created their own programming.
The âhigher being / dangerous being ousideâ
The being outside the border could very well just be a myth of the director / boss of whatever game the island is. Its called a Monster / higher being as to scare the âplayersâ and keep them from escaping. Beckett did not know about that being and they were able to escape.
Redbite / The cicles
The people that came in on the train came in the first place to have fun and relax but it got out of control the Moment Redbite, also a Programm, gained a sentience she wasnât supposed to have a long long time ago. She got attached to the players and changes the original main coding of the island creating the cicles.
This is the last cicle because the director being is unable to restart it as long as redbite is loged in the system. She is essencially a virus
The X
The X is here to fix the island and help it according to Sniper. I think is a different Programm / software trying to fix the damage Redbite did to it when making the cicles
The Biomes and Ruins
Because the Software / Island / Game is trying to fix itself with the X while the Virus is still there and has trapped the player inside the game. The Game is glitching and bringing back old elements from past cicles.
Ocie
Ocie was the first person to eat X. She put X a place where its no supposed to be. She was the only person to eat it and not immediately throw up or be at least somewhat uncomfortable. Spur and C.W., while not in absolute Pain like Jax and Josie after eating it, still said that it did not feel great. Ocie was fine while eating it till she wasnât and switched to her alternative diet. I think because of for how long she has eaten X and how regularly she is eating it she glitched out part of her, giving her player stomach a virus essencially and putting her stomach on that level beyond player. Now with her alternative diet she is slowly putting it back to being a player.
At this point this is all I have on the Theory. If more comes up I will add onto this. I apologize for how long this is and how rambly. You are very welcome to add onto it and things.

got an ask recently about the way my digital art looks like traditional, so I tried to explain the steps on my self portrait, feat. some of my favorite artists and favorite brushes. sorry if it's incoherent, I'm not used to explaining my process besides "I've been professionally studying traditional art for half my life and I'm really bad at technology so I just paint digitally the way I do on paper"

Theo instinctively moved to unbuckle themselves and rub her back as she vomited outside of the car, a soft shush as they did. "It's alright love, nothing to be sorry about. The baby must be feeling that you're anxious." Imogen wasn't one with the strongest stomach in all the years they've known her either and now with the pregnancy, Theo was more than used to it. When they were teens they would gag along with her as they pulled her hair back but they had grown more than used to it by now.
Once she was done, Theo pulled open the glove compartment to grab her a water bottle opening it for her to take a few sips. "It's not super cold but it might help. Just don't take big gulps." Imogen obviously knew the drill but she was also in a very distress state so it didn't hurt to guide her through something as simple as drinking some water and hoping their own calm state would help her. Nothing good would come if they were both freaking out. "I agree. I don't want to have to destroy him either. I don't want any kind of attention on us. But at least it makes it easier to know that we have some power over him too, if we need to use it. Some leverage. And whatever happens next, at least we are together and you don't have to do anything on your own. Never again." Theo hoped at least the knowledge of them being there with her for the rest of their lives would be somewhat comforting because they weren't going anywhere, no matter what happened or what Jack did. "Let's go home. Do you want me to draw you a bath. Make you some tea?" Picking up her hand again, they gave it another kiss to the back before they grabbed her chin and pecked her lips, not even caring she vomited minutes ago.
Imogen felt like she was going to start sobbing at how sweet and calm Theo was being, no idea how they managed to always be like this because anyone in their position would be totally within their rights to be having a breakdown. Her own emotions were going all over the place, she was trying to keep her breathing steady but every so often she sucked it in a little harder as she stopped the nausea from rising up in her stomach. âThank youâŚthank youâŚâ she sniffed as her eyes welled up with tears, still holding onto their hands tightly until it was put onto her lap again and she twisted her own fingers together.Â
âIâŚI donât knowâŚâ Was her answer when Theo asked if they thought Jack would keep his word when it came to what theyâd talked about in the park. Truthfully, sheâd be surprised if he did, but that wasnât to say they couldnât get PR teams involved if they needed to. Or maybe the lawyer Theo had been speaking to about this whole situation, they might be willing to still help if Imogen asked nicely. âIâm sorryâŚIâm sorryâŚâ she muttered as she pulled herself away from where they were cupping her face to quickly open the door of the car, not wanting to throw up inside it but knowing she wouldnât be able to stop herself if she actually engaged in a conversation that had her opening her mouth more than a fraction. Holding onto the car door as she retched the redhead could only focus on how terrible she felt that after the way Theo had supported her she was now doing this. Throwing up in the garage of their building without even answering their question. Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand once it seemed like she was done. âI donât want us to have to destroy him, itâs too much effort, I just want us to get to live our lives.â She croaked as she sat back against the car seat, closing her eyes for a second. âSorry, I really tried not to do that.âÂ

Brush used for the bloodstains!
I have made a couple of adjustments to this old work, it now looks a bit more readable? I realized I don't do well with dark backgrounds because I could not tell how dark it is, if it's to the point I could not see anything. đ
đ
đ
Which sucks, there are so much ideas to work with dark scenes. đ I hope to improve on this faster, figuring out a technique so I don't have to make it a habit of going back on a supposed finished drawing just to make it clearer.

Happiest Birthday to the coolest drummer, Yagami Toll - the dedicated man who never put his hair down ahaha.
Not only is he a great drummer, but as the oldest member - who probably had to take up on the role of a parent many times - he is a very admirable human. The big brother of the band and the fans.đ¤
Despite struggles and hardships, he always had a smile on his face. I hope he keeps rocking on and laughing for another 62 years!!! đ
I truly wish his birthday is the best it can be despite the circumstances, and I hope him and the rest of the members throw a huge party đ¤đ¤đ¤

Huh! Maybe it's just an American version thing? Though, if so, booo! Not nice Nintendo!
Also, oh my gosh, THANK YOU!! YOU'RE A GODSEND!! I've been losing my ever-loving mind!
Like, the fruit still has some of the most creatively bankrupt names I've ever seen, but at least I have a frame of reference!
And thank you so much for the link!!
Also, yes. Psychonauts is very interesting & a little bit crazy. Though, it also has some really dark stuff, but it mostly only turns up if you explore & go out of your way to find everything & 100% the games (which, to me, is totally worth it). But what I love is that the subtext sort of gives you insight into how the trauma of the characters affected them as individuals. Though, you also get a bit of a similar environmental storytelling experience from games like Persona 4 (with Shadows) & 5 (with Palaces). Both feature this whole getting a look at one's inner worldâ sort of thing & I eat that stuff up. Though, you're not always gonna get things told to you explicitly. It's more so something you have to look around the environment. Or, you can watch analyses on YouTube. Always fun to listen to someone else's interpretation of things. Like, it even goes so far as there being a power in the game that can let you literally see how other characters view Razputin & I just find it super cool because almost every single characters, plus numerous animals, each see him in a way that gives you a bit of a hint as to their relationship with him & I love that!
Also, don't listen to Sasha Nein. Those lamps are beautiful & it's just his childhood trauma getting the better of him.
But, I'm not going to go too deep into it because I fear spoilers.
Hmm⌠Sounds promising. Whatever helps with the worldbuilding.
To be fair, the Door of Time would likely only open the once in order to let Link out, then would shut & be unopenable without the other stones & the song. (I mean, why wouldn't it have an automatic lock mechanism without the keys to opening it present? Similarly, it has to open from the inside, otherwise that's just shit building code.) As such, so long as Ganondorf wasn't literally there at the exact moment that Link was sent back & left through the door, I don't really see too much issue. And, my guess is that the time was specifically chosen because Ganondorf wasn't looking.
I will say that I do sort of view the Master Sword as being fairly important to how Link traveled in OoT, otherwise I don't think it'd be quite such a big deal of him utilizing the sword as a means of travel. This is part of why I hc the Master Sword's handle & the Ocarina of Time as both literally being made of the Timeshift Crystal from SS. Because then it gives a bit of âoh, I see!â To the whole thing. Otherwise, it wouldn't be so important for Link to pull the sword from the pedestal in order to go forward & for him to return it in order to go back. For all we know, it acts as a sort of anchor to bring his consciousness back to him.
So, yeah, I think you've figured out a cohesive means of explaining what went down in OoT that leaves as few wrinkles as I can see! đ
Now, I can also sort of see the Triforce being somewhat unaffected by time too, but that's mostly because of its role as a representation of the literal creators of Hyrule's reality. So, to me, this means that it likely exists outside of time, at least to a degree.
Thank you! I really enjoy finding plausible explanations to things & I just really can't help but wonder who it was that built the qÄnat if that is, indeed, what allows that spring to flow?
Same! It would've been so neat to have a Farore centered game & I hope that, if they ever do remake the 2 Oracle games, that they take the chance to also make the third! Though, I think they should go with something like âOracle of Mysteriesâ or âOracle of Runes.â That way, there won't be any confusing it with Oracle of Seasons the way it would be with the commonly hc'd âOracle of Secrets.â
Really? Hmm⌠I was thinking that it'd be the building itself, which would also include the restaurant inside of it, but I guess that the brasserie should have its own name, huh?
Let me give it a think⌠Maybe something with shells or pearls to represent being sort of the âjewel of Lanayru?â Maybe even have the food served in large, cleaned out clamshells? NO!! The shells of Shell Blades! With silver & nautilus shell wine flutes! Oh! I just found a picture of some that are near perfect!!
I think that I'd need to give the stems some pretty designs to spruce them up a bit. Though, nothing too extravagant. Just something pretty, but stylish. Like⌠Maybe make it look like the shell is being balanced on a spray of water, like from a fountain? Simple, but elegant. Though, they also NEED to have shell wine baskets on a sort of coral base.
Also, a single chandalier made from sea glass, pearl, nacre, & shell.
Anyway, what about la Perle de la Lune Brasserie du Clos or la Perle de Conque Brasserie du Clos? I was looking for a good reason to use moon, but I couldn't find the right place to put clair de lune. But I think this is fine.
Either way, I really like it! Plus, it can also be a reference to the Moon Pearl of LttP.
Thank you! Much appreciated! Always grateful for the gentle linguistic guidance!
Also, I had zero idea, but I now completely refuse to change it from MarĂŠe-Chant, because I love that not only did I somehow manage to make a pun, but also one that's super fitting! So, yeah. It is now an intentional pun! :D
True, at the same time, you could possibly try to find ways of spinning the Zelda sightings in a less jocose way. Oooo! I do know of a comic that shows a great way to depict the sort of havoc that the Yiga taking on Zelda's guise probably had on Link! Especially involving their hideout on the Great Plateau!
But it's a long one! Arggg!!
I'll come back with the link to it if I can! It's really good!!
Hmm⌠For the Hateno Village quests, maybe have Reede mentioning the increase in monster activity alongside the Gloom & the return of the Blood Moons & have him mention how he was keeping the election going in an attempt to try & help keep the citizenâs minds off of things. Possibly insert a bit of an undercurrent of unease that's most visible when no kids are nearby. But even the kids know that SOMETHING'S up, just not quite what, yet. Ya know? Possibly even have it so that Reede is sort of exaggerating his end of the Reede/Cece conflict for that reason. (Which, btw, I'd still keep the whole Cece Hat thing, but have it so Link absolutely roasts her regarding the hair & make-up choice. Like, shame her. Because, good grief Cece!)
Also, you may wanna consider having Reede set up a curfew, that way, you can maybe make the nighttime attack of the Stals on the Sun Pumpkins into a more serious issue. Like, it isn't just the pumpkin patches they're attacking, but the town itself. Possibly have some of the new militia set up at what's left of Fort Hateno to do what they can to curb the bulk of it? (Btw, why is there no Stalynel??? And, can you imagine actual elemental Lynels? And a Staltantula boss in the Depths? That'd not only be so flipping cool, but also complete nightmare fuel!!!)
But, regardless, if it was too peaceful for your tastes, try shifting the tone so that it's more of a strained, maybe even slightly delusional peace? Think about it this way, these people had been tormented by the Calamity for 100 years & only recently did that nightmare end.
It wouldn't be surprising if a lot of the civies tried to keep up a veneer of peace in a vain attempt to try & maintain hold on the fraying edges of that tranquility. (I think I've brought this up as a possibility already, just with Zelda...)
Now a dungeon in Necluda is an idea I can get behind! Love that idea!
Oh, heavens! Yes! Absolutely, same! Like, don't get me wrong. I don't mind strong women or tomboyish girls or maybe 1 or 2 strong women that aren't interested in relationships. But not the absolutely flipping wave of them that we've had lately! And, you know what? Yeah, I'm very similar. It's part of why I made my oc the way I did.
Actually, I'd like to bring up something that someone else mentioned a bit ago! Did you notice the hairstyles & designs of the Gerudo in TotK's past? If you notice, most of them weren't really very feminine. And, this suggests that they probably weren't dressing to âattract the male gaze.â But, (& this is me switching to canonical TotK game talk) if that's the case & the Gerudo had also been in a war with the other denizens of Hyrule before Rauru came like I theorize, then this makes you wonder how they were getting males.
Just something to think about. Like, I know what my theory is, but I'm not so sure how dark you wanna go with their portrayal. Because, trust me, I can go SUPER dark. đ
I tend to think similar, personally. But, for me, I tend to look at examples where a singular old man defeats an entire professional women's soccer team IRL & think quietly to myself that, despite being much taller than most male Hylians, I actually think that a single well-trained Gerudo vai would only be around as strong as a single well-trained Hylian male. And, she'd likely need to utilize her greater height against him to win. But, once more, that's just me.
As for the Rito, I tend to think that the scales from Valoo was how the Zora were initially transformed & that this new design for them is just how they evolved afterwards. Not in that this is how they evolved after WW, as I know you're not going that route, but more so that maybe something similar happened that required some of the Zora to transform into Rito in your timeline. And then, after that initial transformation, generations pass with the Rito slowly gaining more & more bird-like features alongside the remaining Zora also further evolving.
And, I actually think it's a great opportunity to have the Ancient Sage of Wind, alongside the Ancient Rito being much closer in design to WW Rito, so as to showcase that there was a change. Same with the Ancient Sage of Water & the Ancient Zora being closer to either the OoT or TP designs. Or maybe even have Zelda discover that there were once 2 tribes of Zora with the Zora of the modern day being the descendants of both?
Remember that your gonna be sending the girl at least 10,000 years into the past. Also, something else to play with? The possibility of the Ancient Goron still learning Ancient Hylian, because they had only recently resurfaced from living in Gorondia. So, Iâd like to think that theyâd be learning the language.
Also, I totally see Zelda frantically creating a sort of underground study with a vault of specimens, including seeds, maybe even have a few smaller critters in containment cells? Ooo!!!
Oh, wait⌠I forget⌠You're not doing the Secret Stone thing, are you? If you were, I'd have suggested making it so the Stones just sort of enhance their powers & gives them a specific ability like the ones in the game, but that it doesn't prevent the owners from learning other abilities of a similar nature. So, I guess that what I'm saying is that Zelda could've learned how to use Stasis after lmastering Recall, ya know? Though, if you're having it so that the Sheikah Slate is still a thing, maybe you could make it so that she figures out a way to use the Stasis Rune to make those containment cells. That way, she can sort of⌠Oh, gosh! I think that I'm essentially creating an entire dungeon! One based on Noahâs Ark! But one that travels the sea of time! XD
What if that's the dungeon in Necluda?! What if it's this massive facility in the Necluda Depths that's essentially a massive museum, library, zoo, & botany vault! That's totally the sort of thing that Zelda would flippin' do!
Anyway, I get what you're getting at with not wanting to make the Gerudo outcasts, but eeeh⌠I dunno. I guess that I feel like they're outcasts anyway & that it's kinda because of their own choices. Like, just their culture as an all-female race that keeps their daughters seperated from their fathers is going to make them as such.
Though, for me, part of the reason for my depiction of them as being cursed is somewhat so I can have that curse broken eventually. Like, to me, it's really little more than an opportunity that I'm trying to use in order to highlight the fact that they once had even worse practices & that it resulted in karma coming to bite them. However, because of that & their humbling, there's supposed to be a slow progression of their depictions over the timelines being something like a case study in how all cultures, all societies, have black spots & things to be ashamed of. But that it doesn't have to be the end &, in fact, the Gerudo are much much improved. So, there's hope.
You know a sort of race wide redemption arc!
As such, my point in it is, I guess, using it as motivation for the Gerudo to improve as a people.
Also, & I know it was more of a joke on your part, but at the same time, if you do go with the idea that the Sand Goddess made Gerudo voe so that the vai only get something nice to look at every hundred years, then you should probably consider how that would affect the voe, as well as the overall perceptions of the vai towards males in-general because of it. Specifically, imagine it from the perspective of the voe. What if your creator made you to have no real purpose beyond looking nice? Imagine that your entire existence revolved around that alone.
Depressing.
And if this were how it was, then the default preconceptions of the vai would automatically be, "men only exist for the enjoyment/use of women." Like, not even for the sake of reproduction because, again, like you said, they didn't need men to reproduce. So, the voe wouldn't even really have that until after the Sand Goddess was killed. And then, wellâŚ
The concenssus would likely have become deeply rooted in their ideologies (case in point, that one OoT Gerudo who mentioned that she thought Ganondorf was the only man worth anything). Then, it might've eventually resulted in a culture of misandristic exploitation not unlike one particular depiction of the Amazons of Greek myth. Possibly even culminating in a few generations where the 1 voe sort of becomes what amounts to a slave king & the designated stud for that specific generation. Likely even acting as a kind of feminist reversal of the orientalist harem trope. (And yes, I am fully aware of how yeesh that sounds. Because it IS.)
Also, there's the question of if the Gerudo were made to never need men & the centennial voe was little more than eye candy, then why the legend saying that he was destined to be king? Why the worship in OoT? Literally, how did he get so bad in OoT, HW, & TotK???
Does the legend refer to a true king or more so a pretty figurehead in a pretty crown? Like, maybe he was instead meant to act as the Gerudo queen's handsome arm-candy? A trophy husband or a sort of proof of her legitimacy as queen? Maybe even it being said that a vehvi produced from 2 Gerudo was thought to be exceptional or usher in some sort of Golden Age for the Gerudo.
I'm not saying don't. Just... maybe be aware of the implications these sorts of choices have & prepare yourself accordingly?
And, this one is more out of personal curiosity than anything: What does this choice say about the Sand Goddess? What did the choice to create the Gerudo as nothing but women with only one male every century, where the vai, rather than mating with men, instead went to the Sand Goddess in order to reproduce: What does it say about her & her intentions?
Why did she decide this? Did she have bad experiences with males that led her to do this, possibly believing that she was sparing her creations from grief? Is she an example of a tragic biggot? In this case, a misandrist who legitimately hates males of any kind, believing that they were the source of all the ills in the world, & wanted to create a species where they were commodities & treated as lesser? (An example of Tragic Bigotry. A very interesting way to make the typical bigotry thing more complicated than just âbigots are just jerks, who cares why?â) Or did she do this so that the Gerudo would be forever reliant upon her?
While it may not seem important, you'd actually be very surprised how it can spawn new ideas to explore the underlying reasoning behind these sorts of decisions.
Heck, if you go the route of the second choice, that could easily end up being an underlying reason to why Ganondorf can almost never seem to escape from his role, because in this case (though she likely wouldn't have meant it as such), it could be due to the Sand Goddess' perception of men becoming the basis for Gerudo voes' nature. In such a situation, Gerudo voe would've been created to be subjugated. Otherwise, they risk becoming too ambitious & devolving into demons. Because it would literally be the subconscious belief of the Sand Goddess, which couldâve bled into her creations without her realizing it.
Now, again, I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but I think it's important to at least acknowledge the thought process.
And, one final thing. I don't know if you brought this up before, but I think it's something that youâll likely need to keep in mind when characterizing your version of Ganondorf.
Namely, how much of the Calamity did he have control over?
And, I need to really bring this into perspective. This⌠it was absolutely horrific.
Judging by the population density map, the Calamity resulted in the deaths of upwards of thousands of people.
And thatâs no small number. Castle Town was sundered. And 7 entire settlements were destroyed, leaving Central Hyrule completely unpopulated. And Deya was the largest of them, but according to what Iâm seeing, literally no one survived Deya.
If thatâs the case, then that doesnât just mean soldiers. It means E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.EâŚ
Like, just take a moment to meditate on exactly how utterly horrible that is.
That means men, women, the elderly, the infirm, children, infants, pregnant mothers. Yes, I know, it's horrible. But, it's also canon.
Like, & I'm really sorry for this, but I really do think that it very much encapsulates my thoughts on what happened in the Calamity. Guilty of Wrath
Warning, it's actually pretty graphic.
Like, for me, I just think that it's really important to really take in the full scope of what happened & to properly characterize the Ganondorf that caused all of it, to ask just how aware he was of it all.
Because, I'm seriously considering making this part of my official canon for Meeting One's Match. (Not the part where Link is dead, but most everything else? Yeah, though I'm thinking of letting Rauru take the place of Link in this. Let him be the petty one to deal the final blow to Ganondorfâs psyche. However, now that I'm thinking about it. I may make him backed up by Sonia & the other Sages, then just before they leave, the Sage of Lightning points behind Ganondorf & he snaps around⌠Only to be met with a veritable sea of spirits⌠And he's suddenly forced to acknowledge the sheer amount of death that he caused⌠Ooohoohoohoo! This reminds me of a REALLY amazing one-shot idea I had! But we can talk about that later!)
Like, in my interpretation of events, I'm sort of making it so that he doesn't really know. As in, he was sealed underground &, I guess, sort of allowed his Miasma to run wild with a mindset of âjust break everything. Break all of their toys,â but he never really thought about the full concequences of that choice. Never thought of the implications of his own words in certain scenes or what their logical conclusion would be.
So, in my story, one of the final hurdles that he's going to need to face will, in a way, be himself.
As, I'm sort of going with the idea of how hatred is an insatiable beast that keeps demanding more & the more you feed it the bigger it gets until you suddenly realize that it's taken on a life of its own & you no longer have any control over it. And I guess that I feel like it's important to nail down whether your Ganondorf really knew what he was causing. Like, for me, if he knew & was aware of the full scope of his crimes & was⌠I dunno⌠unaffected by it, then I just don't think that having him care about the Gerudo will be realistic. Like, it takes a very specific level of psycho to knowingly commit that sort of just⌠Horror.
Like, the Calamity was outright a flipping genocide, man. The Guardians weren't stopping. They would've eradicated Hateno too, which would've, at the time, left only Shadow Hamlet, Lurelin, & Tabantha Village. And we don't even know if they would've stopped with Hateno. We don't know if they would've stopped until the only one left alive was Ganondorf himself.
So, I feel like it's kinda important to establish whether your Ganondorf was genocidal in a very literal way. If he was, then I just don't see much hope for him coming across as any degree of sympathetic.
@aikoiya The post was getting long again so here's a new one!
I knew you were going to answer that saying "this is unfair" isn't real life logic haha (and I agree that life hasn't been fair to Sky and Sun anyway). It's just that such an ending would probably leave me feeling unsatisfied and even a bit robbed, and I think it would require a lot of other changes to be made to the story in order for it to work properly. But anyway you're right, as things are now this would just be happening behind the scenes so what I'm saying doesn't really make sense. But just thinking about it changes my perception of SS in a way I don't really enjoy, so it's not a theory I favor.
Yes in that setting I'm pretty sure that the other Sun would not make herself known to Link and Zelda and would let them have their happy ending. But I think Zelda would likely suspect her existence and know that something is wrong. I guess even Link could notice that the Temple's doors are suddenly open and would ask Impa a few questions.
I had no idea Tingle called Farore the Goddess of Wind in WW, so I went on a little quest to see if I could find the same quote in the French version of the game. Apparently it's in Tingle's description of Outset Island and I never had the chance to play with the Tingle Tuner mode. I can't find the same quote in French anywhere and I don't even know if this was included in the HD remake (I guess I'll have to wait for a Switch version to find out⌠if they ever release one). This has me wondering if this quote isn't something exclusive to the English version, but I can't be sure and I'd like to know what the original Japanese text says. The French wikis mention that Farore is the Goddess of Wind in WW but don't provide any quote, it just looks like the pages were translated from English but that they couldn't find the same quote in French. It's really frustrating!!
Anyway that's a bit weird because WW already establishes Zephos as the God of Wind, and he seems to be a minor deity compared to Farore. The way I see it, wind is just the element that Farore tends to be associated with, and since a lot of myths might have been lost with Hyrule in WW this could just be a mistake on Tingle's part. I mean this is the game that gave us the Golden Triumph Forks haha.
I'm not limiting Nayru/the Golden Goddesses to a singular domain, quite the opposite ^^ To me Nayru being the Goddess of Wisdom includes different concepts such as order, law, science, magic, etc., and even time (since she's introduced as the creator of the world's fondamental laws), while calling her the Goddess of Time doesn't include all of that. That's why I wrote that I found it a bit restrictive. But sure she could have both titles, the same way Farore could be known most commonly as the Goddess of Courage and also called the Goddess of Wind in some situations.
Oh I didn't think of the blocks from OoT! I would say though that they don't really use any time powers, they're just random blocks that appear or disappear for some reason when Link plays the Song of Time (it's just as absurd as playing the Song of Storms to open holes in the ground haha). But yes they were blue and associated with time, and of course Nayru is too. The difference with Hylia in my theory is that Nayru created the rules of time (if that makes sense) among other fundamental laws, while Hylia's power specifically allows her to manipulate time and foresee the future. In a way I see Hylia as Nayru's spiritual daughter who inherited some of her powers over time (and that's why the color purple she's represented with is very close to blue).
The Master Sword has also been depicted as either blue or purple though, so that asks the question of the true color of all of these things! Nayru is definitely linked to time so it makes sense that the timeshift stones are in Lanayru (and Hylia also doesn't have a province named after her).
"From the edge of time" could definitely just be a poetic way to say that Hylia kind of recorded a message for Link before dying haha. But I find it interesting that she would phrase it like that, I like to see it as a clue.
Well if Zelda simply sent Link to a point further back in time, wouldn't there be two Links existing at the same time in the Child Timeline? But sure Zelda creating a brand new timeline also raises a few questions that kind of... make my head hurt. I'm not sure what happens exactly, I've always wondered! All we know is that Link finds himself in the Master Sword's chamber with the Door of Time already open, which hints at things happening in a different way this time (because he definitely doesn't have the three spiritual stones and the Ocarina of Time yet since this is before Ganon's coup, and the ending seems to imply that this timeline's Zelda doesn't know him yet). That's why I believe Zelda might have done something a bit more complex than sending him to a point further back in time, but there's no way to be sure. The Triforce of Courage is also visible on Link's hand during the ending, and we also know thanks to TP that the Triforce is still separated in the Child Timeline despite Link and Zelda preventing Ganon from entering the Sacred Realm this time. So maybe Zelda isn't able to change everything? It's complicated haha.
Anyway, whether OoT Zelda creates a new timeline or just sends Link further back in time, that's still huge time powers and that's not something Link is able to do by playing Zelda's Lullaby.
I also believe it is more likely that Talon inherited the ranch. True, Talon might not always have been so lazy, but maybe if that was the case the game could have hinted at hit. All we know is that he leaves his daughter alone with Ingo and only comes back after Link deals with the situation, which does not make him look so great. And he only promises to work harder after that.
I'm kind of bad with names so I'm impressed you're going through all of that trouble to rename the settlements!!
I haven't gotten to developping the technology that much yet, but I'm really interested in seeing what the different races could do with it! I love the idea of using the Sheikah to infiltrate the Yiga bases. I wish TotK had done something like that and shown the Sheikah helping Link that way.
Same, I was so excited when I heard about these pirates⌠and then so disappointed to find nothing more than a bunch of bokos with no backstory.
Vignoble is not related to noble (though I kind of make the association in my mind, especially since vignobles are sometimes called châteaux).
Yes I thought you could maybe use clos! Aquaticlos is funny, it can work! Though maybe you could use the same logic as for the raisins (I love this Raisins de Terre idea by the way, it makes sense!) and say that what the Zoras call a clos already refers to something that's underwater, since that's probably the case for most of what they cultivate.
I don't mind helping you with French, I'm glad to do so! You put so much effort and thought into this, it's really interesting.

Get your hands dirty - Chapter 2
Percâahlia | M [for gore n whump] | Campaign 1 AU with choice bits snagged from TLOVM | Percy is the pact weapon + 'Shooting our your palm has fucking consequences' AU
[Chapter 2 finally here after @burr-ell bullied me. Hopefully the third and final chapter will follow soon-ish?]
âLord de Rolo?â and the words belong to a dream because that title belongs to Father and Father is dead, except Percy canât wake, canât wake up -
Stop. Breathe. Restart.
Dawn breaks late over the Alabaster Sierras: tall toothlike mountains take up so much of the sky, the sun must climb high to clear them. Itâs well past that first bite of morning, and so probably hours later than he would usually wake.Â
Knocking resumes at the door, more urgently, so Percival hopes his voice comes clear: âYes?â
âLord de Rolo,â and she has to be a servant that survived the purge, to put that much deference into the name, âyour sister and companions await you downstairs for breakfast.â The theyâre quite concerned, sir, is only implied. Which confirms Percivalâs hunch.Â
He reassures the maid he will be down shortly, but does not move. Instead, perhaps unwisely, he unpeels the white bandages from his left hand. Like if he removes all the gauze he will find the names where he always has.Â
Theyâre still bare. Percival breathes heavy relief until his eyes catch on brutal color in his palm.
Most of it, truthfully, is not his palm - but the pattern of the comforter beyond. Whatâs left - left - of the flesh so close to the wound is puckered and mottled with a rainbow of color. Heâs felt worse than the dull, tight pain. Which is better than the prickling drowning several fingers. (Thatâs why it hadnât hurt, when Vexâahlia took his hand last night.)
Well. It figures that if Pike could not heal the fingers he shot off the carriageboy, blasting a hole in his own fucking hand would be even trickier for Keyleth to repair. His head spins; nerves, tendons, muscles, a mess of tiny bones.Â
In a fit of grim whimsy, Percival holds his hand up to the sun, watching it peer through the gaping crater of his palm.
He tries to close his fist around it. Thumb, pinkie and ring finger make a valiant effort of the task.Â
The sun remains beyond his grasp.

Maladaptive daydreaming.
#daydreaming#maladaptive daydreaming#maladapting daydreaming disorder#maladaptive behaviors#maladaptive coping#dissociation#immersive daydreaming#dimond speaks#yeah so adding this to my list here lol#my therapist helped me realize i dissociate a LOT and the primary way i do it is through vivid daydreams#they usually happen at work but they also pop up if i'm having a bad day or... anytime really.#i've also come to the realization that i have at least one of these a day which is not good fgsjh#my therapist says they're not inherently bad especially since they do have a positive effect on my emotions (if its a good daydream)#but it's gotten to the point that it's affecting the way i work#and they can last for a LONG time too#i haven't timed them but i do know they've been over 30 minutes at work before#this is either due to ADHD autism PTSD or a mixture of the three lmao#weeeee#anyway. this post isn't really intended to be a vent post#it's more like a 'this is my experience' type post#it just kinda comes across as somewhat vent-y#but that was because i wanted to try and immerse the reader into what its like to have these daydreams#like mine look NOTHING like this but making it more generic would help others understand it#the void is the general dissociation from reality#then you emerge in the dream#i can feel things as if i'm there- the sun the wind and sometimes even physical touch#and i'll stay there until something snaps me out#strangely i can get my work done while i'm doing this- i just wont have any memory of doing so. it's like being on autopilot#anyway. I hope this post was helpful to someone out there#if you also maladaptive daydream YOU ARE NOT ALONE! it's valid and you're not 'faking' anything. it's a genuine trauma response.

Is there a panel in the manga where Kiraâs kill count is outwardly confirmed as a certain number?
really good question!! from what i can remember they generally keep it pretty vague, but here's a few of the somewhat more direct references i could find. if someone can find something better pls pls pls add it i'd like to see as well owo
from chapter 60 (time skip after L's death):
in most cases where the narration talks about the effect of KIRA, they stick to talking about the reactions to the deaths rather than the exact number of deaths themselves. clearly though, the world has been drastically changed-- see the twin towers still standing in the DN universe as shown in the last panel.
from the same chapter, a couple shinigami comment about the worry that they might run out of people if humans keep dying at the rate that they are. this is almost immediately made pushed back against by the implication that these shinigami are particularly out of the loop when it comes to human populations, but the fact that it stood out at all to the point where they could have such a worry in the first place seems notable.
a bit later, in chapter 75 we also get this:
light calls KIRA an undeniable "mass murderer," and that public anonymous surveys show a majority of people are in support of KIRA. (where these surveys take place is not mentioned-- i'm assuming this is either for japan or worldwide.)
at the end, in chapters 103, 104, and onward, we also get a Lot of looks into what the pages of the death note look like themselves:
for that last panel in particular-- this doesn't even appear to be the full page, but from what i can count that's about 6 columns by 28 rows for this one page alone, making about 168 names a page. iirc mikami was writing about a page or two a night while he was at his peak as KIRA, so. you can do the math.
or, actually, if you don't want to-- the film theorists channel did a video on this exact subject. idk how trustworthy it is since i believe they take from the anime too, not just the manga, but it's a fascinating source regardless and i like how they break down each individual KIRA.
youtube
TL;DR: light definitely writes the most names as presumably he is Going At It during the time skip with basically nothing standing in his way for at least 5 or so years. misa also writes a lot, though her numbers potentially vary a lot depending on how much light was relying on her eyes during that same time. mikami also by far has the highest rate of kills, again packing All That Shit into one page on the reg, though he doesn't work as KIRA for very long.
#asks#broadcasts from the astronaut#death note#hope that somewhat helps anon askjdfasjfakl#they really don't get very specific about it which i think is kind of intentional#the more important detail is always how The Public is reacting to KIRA and clearly he is doing enough to be noticed and cause#significant political waves-- at least for a while#might check c- and a-kira l8r too but im kinda in a rush oops
