“I’m sorry, did you say girlfriend?”
“Yes.”
“It’s new.”
“Oh my god! I’ve never heard him call anyone his girlfriend before. Well Alyssa Milano, but he was ten. And in a weird, who’s the boss phase.”

just woke up from a baby dream and I'm a sobbing wreck :) anyway Logan Huntzberger doesn't expect much from his future besides monetary success, partying, and a lot lot lot of sex. he definitley doesn't expect to look up one day and realize he's sharing a home, a life with someone. not only that, but he's the one that instigated it. he told you in college he didn't like you being around other guys. he stopped caring about the girls that he would go between, because now he just seems to care about you. everything else falls to the sidelines. so he comes back to his big fancy house after an important business meeting on the golf course, and he sees you there. some old sitcom is marathoning on tv, and you're wrapped up in fluffy blankets, hair up and out of your face. you look so cozy, so comfortable. you keep adjusting the blankets, fussing with them as you hum softly. he walks closer, overcome with a feeling of love and swelling pride and... paternal instinct he's never felt. your son Henry, just a month or two old is bundled on your arms. you look up at Logan and smile so warmly he could cry just from the look on your face when you see him.
"hi," you breathe softly. Henry's settled down, so you don't want to rile him up too much, but he's not all the way asleep.
"hey ace," he breaths, sitting next to you. he wraps you in his arms and kisses you, meeting forgotten as you both admire you baby boy together. you rub his tummy gently, soothingly, and Logan smooths his hair. it's short and fuzzy, and a little prickly. it makes him laugh softly. Henry is wearing the white and blue onesie Honor got for him at the baby shower. he makes a mental note to take some pictures to send her of him wearing it. the soft fabric of his polo shirt and the smell of his cologne mixed with the distinct remnants of golf course air is so comforting. he watches you admire your son, trace the shape of his cute little nose, copy the faces he makes, babble little noises at him. he watches you smooth his hair and help him get comfortable in your arms, watches you place your finger in his hand so he can hold onto it with that surprisingly strong baby death grip. Henry wiggles around, getting comfortable in your arms, and you kiss his forehead again. once you're sure that he's settled, not too warm and not too cold, comfortable and lying safely, you can finally relax. you rest your head on Logan's shoulder, closing your eyes and finally letting yourself relax and rest a little. you take in a big deep breath of his masculine scent, somehow both spicy and refreshing, and sigh. you're content. you're more than content, he realizes. you're happy. Logan... made you happy. he found out what you wanted and built you a life you want, a life he wants. it hits him like a ton of bricks in one overwhelming, amazing moment, and he soaks in the feeling, watching the way your sleeping babys face and yours mirror each other.

Plot bunny, Arron Tveit in Gilmore Girls? 👀
Conrad Huntzberger!
Tumblr media
Logan’s older brother, either Honor's twin or she's the middle child tbd
Set to take over the company from Mitchum, following in his footsteps going from writer to editor to CEO. He graduated from Yale with a double major in business & english (with a focus on journalism) and is now doing a graduate degree in business management. He’s not totally sure it’s what he wants to do, school is partially his way of stalling, but also if he’s going to do it then he’s going to be the absolute best at it
He was the editor of the Yale Daily News in his second, third, and fourth year and then appointed Doyle as the new editor when he graduated – no longer part of the daily news but occasionally helps out if asked.
His parents' golden child, loves his siblings but really wishes Logan would grow up a bit, people always assume that there would be resentment over Conrad being the favourite but both of his siblings prefer it because there's less pressure for them to be perfect
He appears in two stories – Come On Virginia, where he's shipped with Virginia Gilmore, and Coming Of Age / New Romantics where he's shipped with Vicki St James

Can we talk about the clear favoritism of the Huntzbergers? because one of their kids is named Honor and the other is named Logan, I think we all know who the favorite is (also, poor girl, Honor is an awful name)

⚠️spoilers⚠️
they made a character who was too perfect that it was inevitable that she wouldn’t be the perfect Rory Gilmore forever. it makes me so sad. i aspired to be her and she was literally my role model but then they showed everything that could possible go wrong and how it affected her and it makes me want to cry. Why did they have to do that???! She was so perfect…
The things that, in my opinion, ruined Rory Gilmore:
- Jess Mariano. Jess, Luke’s nephew, was a teenage boy with an attitude and a leather jacket who wanted to be anywhere but Stars Hallow. He had a bad-temper, attitude problems, and absolutely no respect for authority. How could Rory be intrigued by that? Yes, he was smart and had a thick book collection, but he still did horrible in school, skipped school to work at Walmart (lmao), yelled at Luke and Lorelei, and tried to get Rory to be with him when she had a boyfriend. At least Dean wasn’t so oblivious. He knew what was going on and that Rory was starting to fall for Jess, which I commend him for, but Dean was a perfect boyfriend! She did end things with Jess and get back with Dean later, thank God, but that was after the fact, and everything was already going downhill - FAST AND STEEP. Jess and Rory getting together also affected Dean. He had a soft exterior and displayed the perfect teen heartthrob that he was, but on the inside he missed Rory so much that he cheated on his wife for her! I’m in no way blaming Jess for Dean cheating on his wife because it was Rory who was in the center of all of this, but Jess is the one who changed her and the domino affect began. Rory was the other woman. Her mother was right. I know her and Dean were in love, which made me so happy because I’m Team Dean, but seriously Rory?! She did so many things that were out of character for her. I honestly don’t see how she didn’t expect things to end the way they did with Jess. Did she think he was going to be like Dean and carry her things for her, wait for her, be patient and caring, change for her? If she did, she’s an idiot. He made her an idiot. Sorry to all of the Jess fans out there…. This is my own opinion.
- Mitchum Huntzberger. Listen, I LOVE Logan. I think he’s perfect - almost. Contrary to Dean and Jess, who were just very obviously going to end terribly from the start, Logan had character. He was still stereotyped as the snotty rich boy, but he changed for Rory. That’s why I think that none of this is in no way his fault. He said he didn’t do relationships and Rory respected that, but the minute he thought about losing her, everything changed. Logan was a good boyfriend. It’s his family, the Huntzbergers, who are the real problem. At least this one is obvious. If you asked any Gilmore Girls fan, they would agree that the Mitchum mayhem was a very big influence on Rory’s character. Many people may say that Rory getting the internship and Logan’s family lashing out on them was his fault for thinking it was a good idea, but he warned her that he wasn’t a boyfriend-type person and he tried. He was trying to do what a boyfriend does, and it’s not his fault for not expecting the reaction he got. His mother and grandfather were supposed to be proud for his sister, Honor, for her engagement with Josh, but instead they were acting like 4-year-olds and making a scene about Logan’s new girlfriend and how she wanted to work which wouldn’t be good for Logan because he is the heir to the fortune. First of all, why are they thinking so far ahead to marriage when the couple just got together that same day? Talk about applying pressure on the poor kids. Then, Logan got frustrated with them and left, which was a good move. No boyfriend should stand there and listen while his family attacks his girlfriend for not being a suitable wife. Mitchum wasn’t so understanding either, but he tried to be as nice as possible toward Rory and Logan and their situation by offering Rory an internship for one of his newspapers. After all, Rory’s grandparents were friends with the Huntzbergers and loved to hype up Rory and her aspirations to be a journalist. Mitchum was trying to be nice but Rory knew the internship was out of pity because he felt bad about the harshness towards her at their dinner, and as “hush money”, as they called it. Mitchum wasn’t really as nice as he sounded. He was thinking the same as the rest of his family, but he didn’t want to be the bad guy. He thought this would solve all of their problems, but it only made things worse when he told Rory that she “didn’t have it” as a journalist and she wasn’t cut out to be one. It was insensitive of him, obviously. Rory wanted to be a journalist her whole life. OF COURSE SHE’S GOING TO REACT BADLY! I wasn’t surprised when she went to Logan afterward, upset, and decided to steel a yacht to get her mind off of things, but I felt bad for her. She didn’t deserve this. Of course, stealing the yacht landed her and Logan in jail, which wasn’t even the worst part. Lorelei was pissed when she picked up Rory from the station and blamed everything on Logan because she didn’t like him, and Rory wouldn’t tell her the truth. Then, Rory realized she shouldn’t be at Yale if she wasn’t going to be a journalist, as she planned. She told Emily and Richard. Although they were already visited by Lorelei who wanted to stop Rory from leaving Yale, she managed to convince them. No one knew the truth of the situation, still, until a long time after, when Richard talked to Mitchum in the bathroom at a function for the DAR and learned that Lorelei was right. Rory, lucky, went back to Yale and ends up being a journalist, which Mitchum takes credit for, stupidly, but it did affect her for a long time and she almost didn’t go back to Yale and she was doing hundreds of hours of community service. It was so out of character for her, but she wasn’t thinking, which was Mitchum’s fault. Duh. :)
edit: i guess i know what i’m doing for my AP Capstone research paper Junior year!! 😄
Rory before Yale is my inspiration fr

I know moodboard asks are closed right now, but in a general sense, could you ever see Paris and Honor as a couple?
I never thought of it until realizing that they both have mothers they tolerate at best and a 'certain image' to keep up (Paris an intellectual, Honor a trophy wife/underappreciated) that they may want to rebel against. They'd also seem like the type together who would be annoyed at Rory/Logan behind their backs and talk about it with each other.
i can see pretty much any of our beloved ladies coupled up, in any different variation we could think of, anon.
particularly, when it comes to secondary/tertiary characters we hardly know anything about from canon --i am a sucker for underrated characters.
i hadn't thought of paris/honor so far but now that i have, I absolutely cannot unthink it!
---------
Paris and Honor had always been in each other's lives, very much peripherally speaking. their parents, of course, were part of all of the same circles -attending the same parties and joining all of the same clubs- which means they had basically grown up alongside each other, hardly ever sharing more than a couple, mandatory, pleasantries. which, admittedly, paris had always sucked at (shocker!) so you can guess how well that had gone.
through the years, both girls attended the other's birthday parties, Honor was present for Paris' bat-mitzvah, they also went on a couple of schooltrips together because, for whatever reason, different grades were paired up, every so often.
they never interacted, aside from polite small talk.
then, as they grew, Honor was just so pretty, and smart, and funny that even super confident Paris couldn't avoid being a complete mess around the older girl. girl who was constantly surrounded by the exactly right clique, the perfect boys, the dar-to-be --everything that was expected from a young woman of such background. which paris wasn't, and would never be, despite her upbringing.
funny how Paris would have noticed the lingering, longing, awestruck gazes, if she only had dared to glance at the older blonde for more than a brief second. because Paris was incredibly smart, witty, confident and passionate like nobody else Honor knew. also, totally gorgeous (and, sadly, unaware of it. Honor could only hope to, someday, be the one to offer Paris the reassurance, and boosts of confidence, that she clearly needed.)
so, like, they go their separate lives, never closer than mere acquaintances -always nearby, yet out of reach-, watching each other building their own future and, most often than not, learning about the other just through the grapevine. because they certainly were not friends.
shame.
they both enter and leave relationships -Honor always the arm candy of some proper, handsome young man -her heart, though.. her heart is never invested, and the boys do not last long. after all, Honor dreams of plump lips, and soft breasts, deep deep down. Paris, on the other hand, slowly realizing things about herself, until one day she shows up to some cocktail party, during her second year at yale, arm in arm with this absolutely stunning redhead. and that was that. (paris' parents never openly talk about it, ever, but nanny is proud of her and always treats the (very few) girls she brings home as another acquired child so.. life is good. finally, for once.)
and that's exactly the moment Honor's world tilts on its axis.
four months later, Paris is single, yet again. Honor swoops in, with her pretty (heart)eyes, warm hands and so. many. feeings.
Paris, who never ever ever would have dared imagining a life in which Honor Freaking Huntzberger has a crush on her, and had long settled for simply glancing from the sidelines, until somebody -actually in her league- would show up-- Paris (in no particular order) gay panics, runs away to nyc to dissect the situation with Rory, gay panics some more, reconnects with Terence and analyzes her whole life, melts down with Lorelai and then
then, she gets the girl!
Honor proposes three years later, when they're both well on their way to be professionally accomplished, sharing a townhouse in nyc and parenting the cutest pup.
Paris, who is most certainly not dumb, marries the shit out of -apparently way in her league- Honor Freaking Huntzberger.
[unrelated, but here's rory/honor]

Hi! Would you mind writing Logan Huntzberger with a reader who comes from a family with a bunch of traditions? (Aka me lol) For example, my family has a tradition of Friday night date night for my parents. When we were little, my brother and I would go sleepover at my Papa's house but once he passed when I was 13, my brother and I started having movie nights while my parents are on their date (more often than not they stay at home, but it's still super sweet). Then, on Saturday mornings my Mom and I wake up bright and early to go to the farmers market, my Dad always leaves out twenty bucks along with a note so that my Mom and I can buy ourselves each a bouquet of flowers. When we come back home, we make chocolate chip pancakes and slather peanut butter and nutella all over them. Sundays are lazy days. No friends or visitors allowed. My Mom has a pretty strict no one leaves the house rule; it's family time and relaxing day. We get to sleep in as late as we want and have sugary cereal for breakfast. We usually spend the day watching movies, playing outside, and playing board/card games together. It's just really chill in my house on the weekends, and I think Logan could really benefit from having a girlfriend who is so chill and relaxing. I can just imagine you inviting him home with you, and him being so chill and smiley playing board games and walking around the farmer's market.
Also, Logan would be so down to have weekly date nights. A designated evening for him to spoil you rotten? Sign him up!
OH MY GODDDDDDDDDD LOGAN LOVES IT. once he gets real down bad and obsessed with you (which does not take long at all) he makes plans to surprise you with some fancy date or something and you're like "oh shit I can't! that's movie night. so is the friday after that and after that perpetually and indefinitely :/" he's cool with it and trying to mentally juggle things and reshuffle schedules cause you ARE his priority and you're like "but you can join us if you want!"
Logan had no idea you had a brother. he also realizes he came horribly over dressed and has never really experienced a quiet causal family hangout. he loves his family but his parents are usually off at fancy galas or fancy fundraisers or fancy business events and Honor has been obsessed with planning her wedding and making it perfect since before she was even in a relationship. his friends are more let's go get waisted off liqour that could pay off someone's college tuition types. he loves all of them - his friends, his family - but he's never really been in any "let's hang out all quiet and cozy and sober at home" circles. it's so nice, so refreshing to do that with you. your brother laughs at how overdressed he is, and you bring him upstairs to dig around for something comfy for him. one pair of sweatpants and an old summercamp t shirt later, the three of you are curled up in the living room, surrounded convenience store snacks and frozen pizza, half way through your double feature - now a triple feature, since you and your brother insist Logan picks the next movie. he relents as you all disolve into laughter, and pulls you closer to kiss you while your brother fake gags at the sight.
"this is... the best night I've had in a long time." Logan tells you quietly, a vulnerable, intimate tone in his voice, and you understand how much this, this inclusion and acceptance and normalcy means to him.
"good." you reply, smiling, "cause you're staying all weekend. I hope you like mickey mouse pancakes and cleaning while my parents blast cher."
he laughs and agrees.
"I think I can handle that."
you snuggle back into him as the next movie starts.
"just wait till I tell you about date night."

And the family already hated her and it’s all like ‘LOL he died (bleeping you)’ and just so much massive disrespect for the fact that she openly had a relationship with this man and once she gets paired off with Doyle (still, ugggh!), it’s all solved. And her wake just became a guidepoint where Rory was screwed over and we were introduced to the hellish spawn that was Logan Huntzberger.
She definitely was not ready for this. It’s one of the points in my stories that’s critical to her agency (my current Paris/Honor piece shows her still deeply grieving him while hoping Rory doesn’t die and dealing with an ex who unexpectedly left her back in her life, but all dealt with in serious and caring manner), and it was never dealt with well. Just the ‘purse pharmacy’ cracks alone...my lord. The way the show and the writers dealt with her grief never sat well at all. Yes, I did think it was questionable to pair her up with Asher just for the age gap, but I can at least say he loved her deeply, even if his death threw her off. Meanwhile her and Doyle...they’ve always been better friends than lovers, but in the mid-2000s and in the hell that was the last three seasons, like Lane, she was paired off for the sake of being paired off, and it sucked for both of them.
I really don't think the Gilmore Girls fandom (or the writers, either) take into account that Paris Gellar was 19 years old, stranded in England with her much older lover, her second serious relationship ever, months after musing how small and old he looked in the hospital and how he'd tire of her while she was in a foreign country isolated from everyone she knew....and then he up and DIES on her, and she's the one who has to make arrangements. Just think about how terrifying that would be, how she'd have to explain who she was to his colleagues and family, how much they would probably judge her.
She wasn't even old enough to buy her own beer back home! Come on. She was still a teenager. Just imagine the huge, huge trauma of that. The show plays it off as comedy but it's really horrific if you think about it for two minutes and how truly awful it was for Asher to place her in a situation like that in the first place.

Mitchum’s face was already starting to grow in incredible crimson shade. “If you made another shoddy business deal and need bailed out.. .”
“It’s not business related. Do you remember Rory Gilmore?”
“I try not to,” Shira replied as she sipped her drink, her disapproval evident on her face.
Mitchum sat down. “She needs a job doesn’t she? I’ve already set her up with Conde Nast. She’s the one who tanked that interview. I can’t”. . .
“WE HAVE A DAUGHTER TOGETHER!” Logan blurted out.
