Two days.

It had been two days since you’d shouted at Lando, and the words you threw at him still echoed in your head like a bad song on repeat. Every time you thought about his face—how he looked at you like you’d ripped his heart out and stomped on it—you felt like the worst person alive.

Because you were the worst person alive.

You’d been friends with Lando for years. You knew him better than anyone… or at least you thought you did. But maybe you never really let yourself see the truth. The boy beneath the jokes and the charm. The one who loved you so much it broke him.

And God, you’d hurt him. Bad.

That’s why you were standing outside his apartment now, heart hammering against your ribs like it wanted to break out and sprint down the hall.

You raised your hand and knocked, the sound loud against the door. “Lando? It’s me. I… I want to talk.”

Silence.

But you could hear the TV blaring inside. Some stupid show, the laugh track playing like a cruel joke. He was definitely in there.

A beat later, the TV clicked off.

You almost laughed, almost, because seriously? Did he really think you didn’t hear that?

“Lando,” you sighed, pressing your forehead against the door. “I know you’re in there.”

More silence.

Your chest tightened. He wasn’t going to let you in. You deserved that, honestly. But you weren’t leaving without saying what you needed to.

“I’m sorry.” Your voice cracked, but you kept going. “I was… I was awful to you. I said things I didn’t mean, and I didn’t take you seriously when I should’ve. You’ve always been there for me, and I—” You swallowed hard, the lump in your throat making it hard to breathe. “I hurt you, and I hate that I did. I’m so fucking sorry, Lando.”

You waited. One second. Two. Ten. Nothing.

The weight of his silence crushed you. Maybe he’d never forgive you. Maybe you’d broken something that couldn’t be fixed.

With a heavy sigh, you turned to leave, your footsteps echoing in the hallway.

But then—

Click.

The door swung open behind you, and you froze mid-step.

“Yn.”

His voice was soft, but it stopped you cold. You turned slowly, your heart leaping into your throat when you saw him standing there, looking like he hadn’t slept in days. His hair was a mess, his eyes puffy and red, but God, he was still Lando. Your Lando.

“I’m sorry,” you whispered again, your voice trembling.

Lando stared at you for a long moment, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard. Then, finally, he spoke.

“If you mean it…” He paused, eyes flickering down for a split second before meeting yours again. “Kiss me on the cheek.”

You blinked, surprised by the request, but then a small, relieved smile tugged at your lips. You stepped closer, your heart racing as you leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek, lingering just a second longer than necessary.

When you pulled back, his eyes were still on you, softer now, but there was a glint of something else. Something more.

“And…” he added, clearing his throat, trying—and failing—to sound casual, “make dinner.”

You raised an eyebrow, amused. “Make dinner?”

Lando shrugged, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. “I don’t have anything ready for tonight.”

You rolled your eyes, but your heart felt lighter than it had in days. You knew damn well he just wanted you to stay longer. And truth be told, you didn’t want to leave either.

“Alright,” you said, stepping inside. “But only if you help.”

Lando chuckled, closing the door behind you. “Deal.”

Valentine's Day at the Hazbin Hotel was in full swing. Pink and red heart balloons, trinkets, and kiss mark decorations hung from the walls. Charlie was in the middle of putting icing on some heart-shaped cupcakes when Alastor strolled into the room, his usual grin plastered on his face. But there was a certain, yet different, energy about him—one that immediately caught her attention, as well as Vaggie’s, who was standing right next to her.

Vaggie raised a brow. “What’s with him?”

“I don’t know,” Charlie whispered, already brimming with excitement. “But I think it’s going to be cute!”

Alastor stopped right in front of you and adjusted his bowtie. Was he… nervous? Alastor? Nervous?

"Ah, my dear! A lovely afternoon, isn’t it?" His voice carried its usual sing-song charm, but there was a spark in his crimson eyes that you couldn’t quite place.

“Yeah, lovely,” you replied with a smile, tilting your head. “What’s up?” You were sitting on the couch in the foyer, cutting out hearts from construction paper because Charlie had some sort of craft planned. You knew barely anyone would want to do it, but you had paused your cutting when Alastor spoke.

“Well,” he began, tapping his chin dramatically, “I’ve been pondering a rather pressing question, and it appears that you are the only suitable candidate to assist me in this matter.” His grin widened—if that was even possible—as he leaned in slightly.

You raised a brow. “Oh? What question?” you asked with a slight head tilt and a polite smile. He paused for effect, twirling his microphone before placing it in front of him like a stage prop.

“Would you do me the immense honor of being my… victim of affection this Valentine’s Day?” His eyes gleamed with theatrical flair, and his voice dropped to a soft, almost tender tone at the last part.

Alastor was asking YOU to be his Valentine?

“Victim of affection?” you repeated with a laugh. “Is that your way of asking me to be your valentine?”

He straightened, his grin never faltering. “Precisely! But you see, my dear, ordinary declarations simply won’t do. I’d rather make a… spectacle of it. Perhaps an elaborate dinner, a touch of jazz, and a little magic in the air?” He gave a flourishing bow. "Only if you're willing to risk an unforgettable evening, of course."

Before you could answer, Charlie let out a little squeal.

“Oh my gosh! That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!” she gushed, clutching Vaggie’s arm. “Look at him! He’s so sweet when he’s nervous!”

Vaggie smirked. “It’s definitely… something. But I’ll give him credit—it’s kind of adorable,” though she didn’t really want to admit it. Meanwhile, Alastor cleared his throat, his eyes flickering toward the two of them as they gave him a thumbs-up.

“Pay no attention to the audience, dear. The question remains: will you grant me the honor of being my Valentine?”

A smile crept onto your face as you looked at the bouquet, then back at him. “How could I say no to that offer?”

Alastor’s grin widened, and the room practically crackled with energy. “Splendid! We shall have quite the time, my dear!” He offered his arm with a flourish. “Prepare yourself for a Valentine’s Day like no other!”

Bambi sat in the backseat next to Nick as she tried to open her pink lemonade "Matty, I can't open this." She leaned over handing it to her boyfriend.

Bambi watched happily, she just really wanted her drink. Her smile slowly died turning into a pout as she realized Nick also couldn't open it. "Boo"

After a bit longer Nick leaned forward "OH MY GOD, are you guys pranking me?!"

Matt made a face "Whats the photo.." He turned it to him. "Oh wait! My bad wrong photo" He switched it out before handing it to Nick to put it in the water case as Chris pulled out a picture of Judy Hopps as well.

"That's fucking wild" Bambi giggled seeing this, she hadn't realized that Matt and Chris had similar taste in women.

Lily marrying James isn’t a betrayal. It was, however, completely incomprehensible to me as a child reading for the first time and honestly still is after gaining life experience. Why would anyone get with somebody they witness violently abusing others for kicks, even if a mere year or two later they claim to have cleaned up their act - that was still a core part of their character?! He might’ve been charming and confident and good to people he likes, but he also sexually assaults somebody with considerably less privilege in public, which should’ve been enough of a crime to put any girl off for good even if the victim was now somebody she had cause to hate. I’d have been totally behind it if it had been a purely strategic decision to take a pureblood name in wartime! That’s pragmatism, it makes sense! But it’s written as true love, and tbh it’s never sat well with me what that says about Lily’s character, and what it says about JKR’s attitude towards the awful idea that the love of a good woman can fix abusive men.

Thanks for leaving me a reasonable response, I was a little afraid I would get people with utterly wild takes screaming at me in my inbox for that post!

Yeah, I don't think Lily marrying James is a betrayal, I'm glad we agree on that.

A lot of how we interpret J*ly depends on how we interpret James and Lily based on the very, *very* limited and biased information we receive about them. The reader can never know the full truth about them and truly know them as people, because they died pre-story and Harry will forever be learning out of context things about his dead parents without ever truly knowing them. Which, to veer a little off the main subject of the ask, is honestly a choice that really works for me as someone who lost a parent young. Receiving biased information and trying to judge based off of that while having to accept you can never form your own opinion is just how it is, for Harry and for anyone else in his position.

The thing is, the reader is placed in Harry's position. James and Lily are characters we can make extrapolations about, yes, but we don't have enough information to fully understand them. You cannot really do the same kind of deep dives on them you can do with a character like Snape, Lupin, or Sirius, because there isn't very much material there. So any argument about James and Lily will by its very nature involve a hell of a lot of speculation.

What we get about James doesn't look very good. I don't want to minimize James's terrible actions in that scene. His interaction with Lily there is a really bad way to treat her and it doesn't speak well of the future of their relationship. (And he is also terrible to Snape, obviously, but the rest of this ask isn't about Snape so I won't go more into that). To be quite honest I think some of it is JKR trying to write a rom-com bickering enemies to lovers dynamic between them but for many readers it falls flat as the implications of him trying to get her to go out with him in exchange for releasing Snape are pretty terrible. And most positive information about James we receive is through biased sources like his best friends, though I don't think we should totally discard the fact that he was a good friend to Sirius and Remus and devoted his life to fighting against the Death Eaters--potentially good qualities Lily might have liked about him. Also, in SWM, he makes a point of NOT calling Lily a Mudblood and condemning the slur, which...you are really not the moral authority here, James, but at least you are trying not to be blood supremacist--and that would be a stark contrast to someone Lily trusted suddenly calling her it. We just..don't know all that much about him, so we can either take only his bad traits or try to extrapolate some good ones (or draw out the good traits he does have canonically), depending on what you personally want to do with him.

You say that 'any girl' would be put off by James, but, well, there are a lot of reasons people are attracted to each other. People have been attracted to more terrible people all the time. Whether or not James and Lily's relationship was abusive, people stay with their abusers for all sorts of complex reasons and it feels somewhat dismissive to say 'oh, I wouldn't do that'...you're not in that position. Just because you personally wouldn't do something doesn't make it an impossible decision for someone.

And there is evidence that James matured as a person, though you can feel free to be unconvinced by it. We don't know what Lily saw in James. We can feel free to imagine it how we want to, as a fandom. I just don't think we should really be critiquing her for something largely speculative, and we especially shouldn't be using her dating James as a reason to bash her for ending her friendship with Snape. Lily is allowed to date James without it being about Snape, because she is an autonomous person with her own wants, needs, and desires. Of course, these are my interpretations influenced by my subjective reading of the text.

The final point you make is, I think, a really good one. I have a lot of problems with how J*ly is written in the books! And I do think it is absolutely influenced by the trope of a Good Woman redeeming a Bad Man. That doesn't mean said trope is the only way J*ly can be written in fic and understood in the fandom. But yeah, Lily is written in some very troubling ways...fandom discourse about her just often becomes even more troubling. My ultimate problem with the 'Lily is a bad friend' line of argument is honestly a critique of the exact same trope: the idea that Lily's purpose as a character is entirely to redeem Snape, that she was responsible for fixing him and saving him. Saying that Lily was a bad friend to Snape for not forgiving him for calling her a racial slur and specifically demeaning the help she offered him--and for not preventing him from joining the Death Eaters, even though it was his choice to do so, is misogynistic! The text is obviously not free of misogyny but fandom isn't either, which is why the Bad Friend Lily take gets me so mad because it plays into a misogynistic trope!(Thinking about it, I do wonder if the framing of Lily 'saving' James in the text is why people want her to 'save' Snape...)

Anyway, I hope this doesn't come off as condescending or rude, it's an interesting subject to discuss and it's not my intention to attack you at all. Thanks for the ask!

Absolutely love the music, wish they'd had a higher budget for the visuals.

I like all the songs, and while I could see someone not liking the mix of genres, to me that's part of the charm. Metalocalypse has always been a mishmash of all these parts that seem like they shouldn't go together, but just magically do. So of course we can slot in a little boyband song. Of course Abigail can sing like a Disney Princess while creatures of the night flock to her. Why not! Nothing's out of the question, everything feels at home, no matter how outlandish. It felt like a celebration of everything the show had been so far.

I'm no animation expert, but I can't help notice more and more through the years that DSR's a little ... rough in spots. Certainly great in spots too, but obviously more rushed than season 3 and 4 were. Honestly my favorite way to consume it is to just listen to the soundtrack (though I do still rewatch on occasion).

I watched Metalocalypse as it was airing, so for the ten years when it seemed like DSR might be the end, it was kind of ... hopeful? Like they answered our big question of how Toki joined the band, everyone was reunited, and they could finally admit they cared about each other. Dethklok grew up a little, and even if we might never see the ending, it was easy to accept that these guys were ready to save the world. On a more meta level, I used to listen to the part of Blazing Star that goes:

There is another place beyond we’ll meet in time And I will greet you all in the next life

And it made me think yeah, one day I bet this story will continue. No matter what it looks like (whether it's a comic or movie or another season), I bet sooner or later this show so many people cared about will make a comeback. And it kind of did feel like I was living a whole different life by the time Army of the Doomstar announced.

So, what did everybody think about The Doomstar Requiem: a Klok Opera? Genuine question. I’m rewatching Metalocalypse to show my sister, and watching that one give me whiplash.

Like the Metal Masked Assassin’s vocals are super sick and all (also the Klokateer choruses) and Toki’s backstory will always have a place in my heart. BUT. It’s so hard to watch. This is coming from such a big Charles fan girl, but every time he opened his mouth part of my soul died. HELP.

ahsoka enjoys being flirtatious when it's all in fun and not that serious. the side glances, narrowed eyes and slow blinks, folded arms, the cocked hip, the tilted head, they're her best tactics for urging someone to feel at ease and play along. those moves usually result in the kind of mutual flirtation she's begun to know well and can confidently guide the trajectory. but in the end, it won't go anywhere. she's not looking for deeper reciprocation other than snark out in the wild.

unless she's flirting with a significant other. that's very different. everything is slower, more relaxed, much more direct, and still somehow a little shy. her confidence isn't in how she can play an interaction, but in the mutual strength of feeling and experiences instead. if her significant other flirts back, the shyness tends to dissipate. she's also more likely to smile far wider and more often than usual. if she catches them off guard in any way, it's not intentional although much funnier.

being flirted with when she's not expecting it, though, sort of confuses her and she won't really respond much at first. especially if the timing is incongruent or the priorities seem out of place. maybe they'll get a blink and a "thanks?" at most. (sorry kaeden, wrong place, wrong time.) worst case scenario, she'll ask "why?" which is....likely not the reaction the person trying to initiate something was hoping for and it catches up with ahsoka much later if it catches up with her at all. when she's all business, she's kind of all business.

the long and the short of it is, flirting doesn't have a whole lot of sway over ahsoka unless it's between her and her partner. she's not exceptional at it unless she's really thinking about it or it's for pulling intel, and it doesn't so much go over her head as it does sideswipe her completely when she's unexpectedly flirted with. altogether, a mess. but when she's at her most comfortable in private with someone she cares for, the way she goes about banter is very sweet and clearly meant to laugh over.

had a funky asgardian dream last night lol

the premise was that loki fucked around and basically an amnesiac version of loki ended up back in time with so many holes in his memory but enough knowledge to be like "odin is my dad"

and odin looked at this kid and was like "aw he looks like hela, this tracks" and, importantly, does not know that loki is a frost giant and just assumes loki is his full blood kid lol

all that to say that loki and thor grow up with big brother!loki who is actually?? a good big brother?

rather than hide hela's existence, older loki makes odin nostalgic and he ends up telling them that hela is their big sister who was "lost to the war" or some bullshit, which most people assume to mean she died in the war, right?

older loki sees like, one picture of her, notes the similarities, and then for some weird reason feels profoundly uncomfortable so he decides not to unpack all that and just avoids mention of her lol. kid thor doesn't really care that much about her bc she's not in their lives so why should he? kid loki LOVES learning about her and actively seeks info about her out, mostly because he thinks a big sister would probably be better than two older brothers (he also is young enough that lost to the war means that he could probably find her, right?)

importantly, kid!Loki grows up very differently in this dream world. instead of being the weird outcast prince, everyone looks at him and is like "awww look he's like his big brother <3." he's also like, 8 so at the moment he is very much the baby of the family

anyway so the main plot of this dream was big Loki (imagine like a 19/20 year old) plus thor (like 12) and Loki (8ish) manage to find where Hela is sealed away. idk where they are or where the king and queen are, it's implied they're not in asgard right now and this was a Very Unplanned Field Trip that is giving older Loki an ulcer. They have to look at little Loki to confirm this weird fucking ceiling portrait is Hela bc the older two are not the Hela Experts in the room

at the same time, older Loki is starting to get some flashes of the future and begins to suspect that he's from the Bad Timeline

through accident, they manage to unseal Hela, who is met with three whole younger siblings - and let me tell you it is a very different welcome when you have a very enthusiastic 8-yr-old sparkling at you and very excited to have found his lost sister and a 12-yr-old who thinks girls kind of have cooties rolling his eyes

so hela makes a split second decision to not tell her baby brothers about the whole "dad sealed me away for being warful" thing (it will be a fun surprise for odin later <3) and also embrace being a big sister (it is now her legal job to pick on older loki and make fun of thor for being the odd one out)

anyway while they're figuring this out, older Loki is continuing to get flashes of the future but is now somehow joined by thor also getting flashes of the future. what they manage to glean makes them suspicious, and hey if they're both getting future visions or whatever then logically baby loki should also be, right??

so they start to like. suspiciously spy on little loki. except idk maybe the universe decided that one loki having knowledge was fine? i don't think older loki actually fully knows about the time travel thing or that he IS little loki tbh

so anyway they're spying on an eight year old who has a strict bedtime of nine o'clock.

meanwhile hela starts getting flashes of the future and is like "wait. do i destroy asgard?? why would i do that? where would my brothers live? ):"

the only other thing i remember is there being a dramatic scene where hela is trying to reject her fate and someone tells her that she cannot escape it, and she's actually getting teary eyed because she's gotten attached to her weird shitty brothers now

then i woke up and was like "huh"

The design isn't super final, I can never really decide how I want the accents to look... trying to keep them in line with how the Askr trio's weapons look. Especially the signature color magic glow that's present in their special arts!!!

Which is why, here, the green gem is most prominent on Moe's weapon.... geen....... idk if I'm keeping the other ones that look like the summoning circle orbs. It was just something I wanted to try out!
