It depends on your definition of "catch". I don't think he'd be good at solving the mystery, but I do think the conventions of his genre would set up the cards in such a way that he'd be in the right place to kill him at the right time, even if he didn't understand exactly what was happening.
He might stumble across Light gloating over his latest victim, for example (as Light canonically does several times), get enough of what's going on to realize he just murdered someone, and step in to take him out before he did any further damage.
Or Naomi Misora might show up to do the classic "Please pledge your service to help me avenge my dead fiance" thing (an Arthurian staple), and being in a different somehow, less sexist? genre would allow her to survive long enough to correctly identify Light as the killer and point Lancelot in his direction to do the actual beheading.
I think the fact that there wouldn't be some prolonged game of cat and mouse would work in his favor because Light wouldn't have time to find out his name, there'd just be some guy coming at him with a sword and Light is no match for him physically, so it would be over before he had a chance to even try anything.

I know you made shorts for Sora, Riku, and Kairi, but do you have any other thoughts about Kingdom Hearts?
Ik this is kinda vauge and you get these kind of asks all the goddamn time, but I hyperfixated on those games for most of elementary and middle school and its always cool to see your favorite Youtuber talk about stuff you really like. Not to guilt trip you into answering this one or anything, just. . . I'm very tired and it would be very cool lol.
Again, saving my character design thoughts for some more shorts, but I adore Kingdom Hearts. Like, the first game really ISN'T much more than a cross-promotional branding exercise for Disney and Square, same as any of a dozen other similar crossover centric franchises; it's a Saturday morning cartoon show that wants to get you invested (or keep you invested) in a bunch of fancy IPs to buy toys of, but it's a really good one of those.
And it's a game that understands that the central thing that's going to hook people IN to that kind of thing is characters that are willing to believe in what they've got going on with one thousand percent sincerity. Which I think is the thing they nailed more than anything. Sora cares SO MUCH, and he wants to find his friend and his love interest (Kairi and Riku, respectively) SO BADLY, you can't help but root for the poor kid and want to believe in it.
Then, with the first game successfully managing to hook a solid fanbase, the creative team went "hey what if we had even MORE extremely earnest cool anime people getting deep in their feelings?" and now we're off to the races with Organizations and Oblivion Castles and fractions of 358 days.
And the thing that makes all the hyper-convoluted wheels-within-wheels plot machination nonsense WORK is that down, deep down, right at the core of what the franchise is always trying to say, is that love will save us. Yeah yeah hearts and darkness and unversed and nobodies and keyblades and blah blah blah (to be clear: I adore all that nonsense), but all of it is top-to-bottom in service of that singular central thematic clarion call.
Love will save us.
What holds Ventus together after Xehanort tears his heart apart? The love of Sora. What keeps Roxas the nobody from fading into Sora? The love of Xion and Axel, and Hayner, Pence and Olette. What brings Xion back? The love of Axel and Roxas. Hearts ring together and resonate and bind themselves to each other and there is no darkness so deep, no tragedy so absolute, no villain so foul that the cry of a loving heart cannot defeat it.
Roxas is a nobody doomed to darkness? Fuck you, Kingdom Hearts is love, no he isn't. Xion is a mere replica puppet, a failed experiment that nobody will remember? >>EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER<< get seasalt icecream'd on top of a clock tower at sunset, IDIOT.
Over and over again characters sink into despair and loneliness, they fear that their connections are fake or fading, they fear being forgotten or left behind (Riku in the first game, the breaking of Ventus, Aqua and Terra, Roxas thinking nobody would miss him, Aqua in the Realm of Darkness), and over and over again they are proven beautifully wrong. There is always a hand reaching out, there is always someone who will miss you. Love will save us.
And this absolutely gets hokey, of course it does, it's a saturday morning children's cartoon. It's a bit simplistic, maybe a bit naïve, but honestly in a world where you can't walk two steps without bleak-minded doomer cynicism forcing the assumption that nothing truly good is possible and that the worst will always happen, Kingdom Hearts is a story so absolutely drenched in hope, sincerely held, that it feels like a fucking balm.
Also, LITERALLY where the fuck else are you going to get Woody from Toy Story reading an edgy anime villain for absolute filth? Nowhere, that's where. ONLY Kingdom Hearts.
youtube
None of this is to suggest I don't have criticisms of the franchise or that it's faultless. I could talk for several hours unbroken about all my gripes and problems, chief among which is LET KAIRI DO THINGS OH MY FUCKING GOD the franchise is low key misogynistic towards its female characters sometimes but I am talking about the things I love here let me just be happy for a second.

honestly i'm tired of SJM and her bs. she's not grrm and acotar isn't the cultural reset that asoiaf books are. authors aren't machines and they deserve a break but that's not the case with SJM coz she's had a long break now and the thing is even when she does have the opportunity to give something, just anything, to the fans she doesn't. she writes a book that she hyped up so much and it's just some rubbish slop giving the fans none of what she promised.
you're telling me we had 173929 moments of nesta having mommy issues and rhys yelling at her like a crazy man but we couldn't have gotten a single elriel crumb? a ship that's gonna be canon next and have a book for them didn't even make an appearance in a very hyped up crossover?? what stupid marketing is this? idk but as a fan who's been looking forward to these characters and their stories i feel like i'm being clowned now. is nesta vs the world all she can give us now? i'm sorry but nesta has already had her story told and her conflict with rhys serves literally no purpose in the story anymore. they both ended on a good note in ACOSF so what was the point of unnecessarily dragging this nonsense again instead of giving readers something that actually makes them invested in the series? like it infuriates me that HOFAS was such a nothing burger. we didn't even get any sweet nessian moments just nesta being the rebellious emo child getting scolded by a rhys. if anything it makes these characters look less appealing now and if that's her purpose then she's definitely won coz cassian looks like a loser to me now who can't stand up for his mate, nesta looks stupid and dumb and rhys extremely insufferable. sorry for the rant but i just think that SJM is being really cheap now.
Listen Anon, it's not like I am gonna argue with you!
It's extremely frustrating. Extremely. Not the lack of book--the know how long it takes sometimes and considering the stakes with this one, I would imagine they'd want to do the best possible job with it (hahaha), however, absolutely no communication about anything is bullshit. No updates, no timelines, no newsletters, no nothing. Even about the HOFAS paperback. It's crazy behavior.
I was happy to see Nesta and Azriel in HOFAS--the only parts of that craptastic book that I managed to read--but SJM made them look less than stellar. Like stupid Bryce who couldn't figure out that Danika's been lying to her for 5 years is just so stealthy and smart that she could steal Azriel's TT, outsmart them all, understand all the carvings on the walls and bypass the beasts? Please. It's so stupid it hurts my brain.
Frankly, they ALL look like losers. Rhys is this unhinged screamer, Azriel is a bumbling idiot, Elain and Feyre don't exist, Amren knows how to read apparently, and SUDDENLY remembers all this info that she somehow didn't share with anyone for the past 500 years, and Cassian who? I think Nesta mildly showed up, but not much.
The whole thing is incredibly frustrating.
And the funny thing is that no one is talking about ACOTAR anymore. I follow a couple of bookish creators, and I've not heard any mention of ACOTAR from them in months. Other than like a vague 'if you liked Rhysand, read this book, because the MMC is even better!'
So I don't know what she and BB are thinking but clearly it's not very wise.

*takes a firm bite out of a lawn mower, (no salt, obviously)*
I just wanted to say how much of an impact Dr69 and Dr96 has had on me. Your work has had a nice cozy place in my mind ever since I found it back when Dr69's chapter 3's trial was just posted. (That was 2020 or something, right? Oh how the time flies. I can already see the retirement center.)
Your stories have inspired me so much to write some sort of crossover game myself (Haven't decided if it would be DR-styled or YTTD-styled. I have a lot of random ideas written down.) They're also the reason I got into Parappa and Breaking Bad in the first place, and I've been thinking about giving Yuppie Psycho a shot.
So yeah, thank you for writing something that had a genuine impact on me. Give yourself a pat on the back, please. Are you ever taken back by how much your stories have resonated with people?
Oh, BTW, for getting me emotionally invested in the Family Guy dog, please repent for your sins.

^ me rn
I will say it's honestly crazy to think it's been four years now since I've been working on these fics. From going "haha what if I made a crossover killing game for funsies" to "haha how fucked up can I make these bitches" is. well it's surely something
I'm happy to hear I've inspired you to create your own work as well! Whichever type of death game you go for, I'm sure you'll enjoy working on it ^^
(also please please please play yuppie psycho it is my life it is my blood I spread it like gospel please pleas eplase pleas /nf)
And regarding your question at the end... all the time, really. I'm a bit of a perfectionist at heart, and lately I'm focusing harder on trying to write things I can be proud of. So... it's nice to know you guys are here to support me :-}

I was arguing with my friend about this and I'd like ask you because i think you're cool and awesome!
I'd like to know your opinion on the ship Hinagami (Og Byakuya × Hajime)
[I personally like it, my friend doesn't get it lol)
(Thank you!! For saying I seem cool and awesome. 😁)
I can definitely see it.
The way I personally imagine it is a fun amount of bickering and challenging each other. With Naegami, they definitely challenge each other (specifically, I think Makoto very casually challenges a lot of Byakuya's fundamental beliefs), but I don't see them as bickering all that much, because Makoto doesn't usually get goaded in the same way Hajime would. (Not by Byakuya, at least.) Byakuya and Hajime would goad each other, and that could be very fun.
Plus, there's something to play with in the fact that Hajime is presumably pretty rich himself. Not obscenely wealthy like Byakuya is, but his family has money (and inclination) to send him to Hope's Peak, so. Honestly, potentially something else for them to bicker about.
Byakuya saying, "You bought your way in."
Hajime retorting, "You bought your way in! Just because they aren't asking for your money upfront doesn't mean they aren't expecting it!"
"Ah, and here we have the difference between the petty transaction and the sage investment."
Separately, I'm imagining Hajime pulling out money for the vending machine and Byakuya appearing out of nowhere like, "You carry cash? That's how you know you're poor."
And Hajime just silently seething, I wish this guy would get stranded somewhere with no credit card readers and have no way to pay for food or transportation.
I think the main drawback with this ship, like with most of the class-crossover ships, is that it's easier to make Nagito the person who teases Hajime, or easier to make Makoto the one Byakuya teases. Even if this dynamic is more in-character for this specific alignment of characters (in my own opinion), there are a lot of people who are going to go for the more popular alignment and just tweak the characterization to reflect what they want out of them, because it feels more sensible to pair the characters who share a significant amount of screentime.
But, saying that just reminds me that Byakuya and Hajime are both in the last trial in SDR2, and that moment where Makoto tells the Remnants the truth of what's about to happen to them and Byakuya basically says, "Did you have to tell them that?" feels like something that would have inspired an "F this guy!" reaction from Hajime, if the situation had been a bit lighter. So honestly, I kind of want to see an interaction similar to that one take place under circumstances where Hajime is better-equipped to care about mild disrespect.
I'm sure there's a fluff side to this ship, but right now my mind is just immersed in the potential belligerent tension.

20 Questions for Writers
@myfairkatiecat Thanks for the tag, sorry this took so long. (@sophieswundergarten thanks for the reminder 💕)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
8 so far. It's not a lot, but I make up for it in length.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
417,645 💀
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Exclusively tmbs so far, but I plan on doing some Wolf359 fics when I (finally) finish the podcast. Sadly all my ideas are long. I'm sorry.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Since I have so few fics I'll just give the list:
S.O.S., by a lot. I'd like to thank the show's cancellation for my unexpected success.
The Oldest Siblings , mainly due to it's association with SOS (it's the prequel in the series)
Treat Them With(out) Mercy
Who You Were Meant To Be
A Joy To Obey and It Should Have Been Us are tied
The Boys Who Waited
Sirens of the Sea and Sky: dead last with 3 modest kudos. This fic is the equivalent of having a kid in a school recital who screams the whole time and knocks down the set. He might be a disaster, but he's my kid and I'm proud. This fic is ridiculous, but it makes me laugh anyway. I don't know how burnt out finals Bods came up with this, but by golly...she did.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Of course! I think I've responded to every comment I've ever gotten (if not I'm so sorry please let me know). I appreciate every one of them, and I love talking about the ideas in my idea and the fics I write, so please know that every comment you leave totally brightens my day! 🥰
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hm. Right now "The Boys Who Waited" probably has the angstiest and most ominous ending, but we'll see what happens.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably "A Joy To Obey" since it's my main fluff fic with a nice ending. A great read if you like lighter stuff.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
Not yet. If I did, I'm not even sure what I'd do. Depends on the hate. I might cry. I might laugh, honestly. I don't think I'm nearly important, good, or noticeable enough for that so I might be a little flattered ngl (unless it was something vulgar or hateful towards a certain group of people then I'd delete and block the person). I'm sure people have read my writing and not liked it, but I think they just click away.
9. Do you write smut?
No, that's not for me. Especially because I'm writing for a children's fandom, I just don't think that's appropriate.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No, but I've done some AU's on tumblr.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of. Also this is a small fandom so if a fic of mine DID get stolen, it would be pretty awkward and obvious. Don't plagiarize kids.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but I'd be honored if anyone wanted to do that!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
No, but that could be fun!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Why the MV Shortcut, of course! /jk
I don't really have a lot of ships I get super invested in, I prefer platonic relationships. If I think of one I'll let you guys know.
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
You'll find out. (Don't worry about SOS. I promised I'd finish it and I intend to keep my word).
16. What are your writing strengths?
According to my readers, dialogue, characterization, themes, weaving multiple storylines together, and plot twists.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I can't write a short fic to save my life, and I can't edit to save my life. I also just publish my first drafts because I have no impulse control (sorry).
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Funny enough I’ve done this, but only canon MBS dialogue where I've translated it directly from the show's subtitles. If I made an error, please let me know.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Mbs, and so far just mbs. Hoping to expand someday when I magically have more time (and finish Wolf359).
20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
SOS, just because of what a fun journey it's been.

Bro idk how you expect me to pick just ONE, those titles are all too tantalizing lol.... I'm gonna ask this one just because I assume no one else will with the other great options to pick from 😂 ff7/avatar?
HAHA so I was just ranting the fuck out of like three different people about this specific AU. It’s an ff7 crossover with Avatar (the blue one)
Honestly the entire idea was me being pissed off about the white savior storyline of the original and deciding I could do fucking better, then designing an entire culture based on actual tribes and people, in ways far beyond them being blue braided and naked. I may come back and share more ideas from this one but for now I’ll leave it at that <3
I fully expect it to be a long project, hence why that “WIP” is currently more notes and world building than actual work. I’m only doing one huge project at a time and WGPCMFG is center stage for now. However, in the future, I will definitely be investing heavy into that fic. Thanks for the ask lovely lol
Also, by all means, don’t pick just one. Feel free to come back 😂

fanfic writer questions
Thanks for the tag @sssammich! I haven't done one of these in years, I'm excited :D
1- How many works do you have on AO3?
Only 11, but a couple are long ones (100,000+ words)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
406,700 and counting - one of those is a WIP that will have a lot more to add so I MAY make it to 500,000 in the coming months, if I write another couple of short ones on top.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now I'm just writing for Supergirl (and supercorp specifically). In the past I wrote a lot for Call the Midwife (Patsy x Delia, my beloveds), and I have written one small one for Strange the Dreamer, just because I had an idea that wouldn't leave me alone until I got it out.
I tend to be a bit all or nothing with fandom, so I am usually only in one at a time.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Hands I Used to Touch (Patsy/Delia - Call the Midwife) by a landslide. It also (briefly) had the most comments of any fic in the fandom which was very cool (it was the one I was writing for longest during the peak engagement era for the pairing, but still it is my crowning achievement as a fic writer haha)
After that Vengeance, Victory and Undying Love (Supercorp), Little Things Mean A Lot tied with A Paper Bag of Pick n Mix (both Patsy/Delia), and Storybooks and Siren Suits (also Patsy & Delia, but as children so not a romantic pairing)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Definitely! I try to respond to every comment, because they mean so much to get and I want the people taking the time to write them to know they are extremely appreciated. Also I have made some wonderful friends that way!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I am allergic to angsty endings! Angsty beginnings? Almost inevitable. Angsty middles, sure. Angsty ENDINGS? Never. So angstiest: maybe "The Static of Distance" from my Paper Bag of Pick n Mix, because they are still half a world away from each other during a threat of nuclear war. But even so it's only an angsty ending if you squint really hard.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
They all have pretty unambiguously happy endings honestly, I'm not sure I could pick between them!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I don't think I've ever had hate as such. Some maybe less than whole heartedly positive responses, though most of that was when I was teasing an apparently dark character arc before a twist and making people worried about what I was up to. But see above re: all of my fics having absolutely unambiguously happy endings, so we got there eventually.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not so far - I think the closest I have come was my wife and I writing a silly crack fic together that involved smut, but it was not at all meant to be actually sexy and we never posted it anywhere, sooo...
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not typically, but there was A Misplaced Midwife, in which Barbara from Call the Midwife (a fairly sheltered young 1960s midwife played by Charlotte Ritchie) traded places with Hannah from Siblings (a modern day selfish, chaotic disaster human also played by Charlotte Ritchie) and how they got along in each other's lives. It was silly and crack-y but a lot of fun to write.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge, thankfully!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Alas, no
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
The aforementioned crack fic with @cynicalrainbows but that was just for our own entertainment. She also contributed several lines/ideas to A Misplaced Midwife. I don't think I have apart from that.
14. What's your all time favorite ship?
I only really have two that I've been invested enough to fic about it, and while my current all consuming obsession is Supercorp, I have only been in it for a couple of months compared to the years long love affair with Patsy/Delia that also led to me meeting my wife and many good friends. So for now, Patsy/Delia still reign supreme. We'll see if that is still the case in a few more months!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I try to always finish my fics, but I do have one unfinished wip on my conscience, and that's Storybooks and Siren Suits. I still open it and do battle with progress now and again just in the hopes that I will manage to drag it across the finish line and put it to bed once and for all, but so far nothing doing. It remains stuck on the same chapter it has been stuck on since 2021.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Oh no don't make me pay myself compliments... Angst with happy endings? That is not really so much a writing strength as just a description of the type of story I write, but shh. I guess I got a lot of compliments on characterization back in my Call the Midwife days. Whether that follows through to Supercorp remains to be seen. I like how I'm writing them, at least!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
My dialogue transitions tend to be clunky, at least so I'm finding lately. Also I am a total feast or famine writer, so any kind of sensible process or schedule discipline is completely non existent.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I avoid it for the most part because I would certainly make a mess of it, though I have one or two very very brief bits here and there. I think the longest piece was a character recalling their own long distant school french, which contained deliberate mistakes the character was making that acted as excellent cover for the genuine mistakes I no doubt also made.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I'm trying to recall if I ever wrote anything as a young teenager for Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Willow/Tara, naturally), but I don't think I did, and if so it definitely stayed as tucked away in an old notebook never to see the light of day. The first proper/definite one was Call the Midwife, just after they decided it would be a good idea to hit Delia with a car and give her amnesia right at the moment she and Patsy were about to move in together.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Well right now it's Forgotten Not Forgiven for sure, because that's where my obsession is currently living.
Of all time though? Probably still The Hands I Used to Touch, because I poured everything into it at the time and it played such a big part in me finding my feet in the fandom world. No pressure to do this at all of course but tagging @cynicalrainbows @fabulousglitch, @shut-up-heather-d and @fazedlight as people I know write fic and may enjoy this if you haven't done it already. Anyone else interested feel free to claim me as your tagger, I would love to see your responses!

20 Questions for Fic Authors
Thank you @thebrandywine for the tag!! :))
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
43!
2. What is your AO3 wordcount?
113,038
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly just Resident Evil, haha, but I've dabbled in a couple other things over the years... nothing else currently, though!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I. My lone Genshin fic 😭😭 at 935 kudos (holy shit!!)
II. Ripping at the Seams with 670
III. *metal pipe sound effect* with 301
IV. Fracture with 290
V. Day 18: Ache with 253!
5. Do you respond to comments?
As much as possible!!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
:3
You tell me: is there more angst when older Leon dies, or when re2 rookie Leon does? Personally, I'm leaning on the rookie, but 'do you believe' has the added Hunnigan and Chris angst haha
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
you're my lover is just straight up Nivannedy fluff and sweetness :)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Haven't yet, thankfully!
9. Do you write smut? If so, which kind?
Sometimes 😭 usually it's more of a plot relevant thing than anything else, because smut isn't always my jam--but there are exceptions!! I'm writing a crack ship re5 thing asjdjds and sometimes I do like writing scenes that involve a little sexy time, but I don't think I'd ever write it as a standalone pwp sort of thing haha
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest crossover you’ve ever written?
No...? I mean, I have a Blade Runner au on the backburner of my infinite stove, but I've never put different characters together in a true crossover. Wrote the beginning of an Eragon + Percy Jackson + something I can't remember, when I was in like. 7th grade? But that's long gone and nothing ever came of it asdjdjs
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Hopefully not... 👁️👁️
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Thought about it! It hasn't happened haha, but I'm open to the idea
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
I'll be honest... ships are kind of cute adorable plot devices to me. I don't really have a favorite per se, but I do tend to prefer Chreon, Metaltango, and Nivannedy! I like Clairejill and I'm pretty invested in Ada/Hunnigan right now hehe but none of them really stands out as the OTP, y'know?
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Not sure! I tend to jump around and abandon and revive things a lot, so it's honestly just up in the air. I'm loath to put one on the chopping block, but I have my doubts about this one (OG!) re4 fic where Leon passes out during the cabin fight
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told that I have a very visceral writing style by several people, and I do often get compliments on how well I've made something feel real/captured a specific feeling! Which is a huge compliment you guys are so nice 🥺 and I do like to think that I'm good at descriptive writing!! I see things very clearly in my head and it's gratifying to know I'm getting it across fully :)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to go at it without figuring out where I'm going, first. Plots are held together with a dab of white glue and some fraying string, and I often worry that I'm not putting scenes together coherently. I can do all the technical stuff just fine, but I really struggle with pacing and character motivations and foreshadowing and background etc, which I think is why I tend to write shorter fics!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
It's rarely worth it, unless there's some sort of narrative significance or I get to use my Latin knowledge for some silly villain 😭
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Bungou Stray Dogs!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I've always been partial to Fracture
Tagging- @fonulyn, @colesabi, @lightenupcowboy, @sunhatllama, @resident-rats, and anyone else who I forgot or wants to participate! <3

20 Questions For Fic Writers
thank you @garglyswoof and @stars-and-darkness for tagging me!
How many works do you have on ao3?
12, though 2 of those are moodboards so don't really count.
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
553,036. Huh. Lower than I expected. No doubt that will shoot up when the tbbw rewrite is done [fake laughter, hiding real pain]
3. What fandoms do you write for?
TVD, TO a.k.a Klaroline
4. Top five fics by kudos:
The Big Bad Wolf, Into Eternity, The Little Wolf, The Red Wedding and Falling For You.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to respond to every one as I love talking with readers. I figure if someone spends time to write a comment, I'll return the favour and reply. In fact when I'm updating fics regularly, if my reply to your comment turns up in your inbox it's often a pre-warning that a new chapter is about to drop, as I read over comments I've missed before updating.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Does Damon murder count? [I don't really do angsty endings, I need my happily ever after]
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Into Eternity. It's really sappy and makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. What can I say - I'm a romantic at heart.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yes, kinda. Is it hate if it's just wild interpretations of the characters or plot? Some people leave comments that just make you blink repeatedly and think...are they reading the same fic I'm writing? I remember one time someone left a comment calling Caroline a pushover (honestly had some kind of vendetta against her showing ANY kind of emotion like okaaaaay mate) even though in that very same chapter...she literally kicked Klaus is the balls. Man, that was a weird day.
9. Do you write smut?
No. Not yet. In the future? There may or may not be scenes planned. 😏 I'm picky with smut, I need feelings and the eMoTiOnS, I need to be INVESTED. Porn with plot, rather than just smut for smut's sake.
10. Craziest crossover:
Haven't written a crossover - unless intending to drop Dracula into tbbw at some point coints. There's some great ones in the fandom though, just not really my thing.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of [narrows eyes]
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No! But I'd be flattered if one ever was, as long as its translated on ao3 and given credit to me.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, I haven't. I might be open to it though, if it was a round-robin kind of thing where the writers take in turns to write the scenes.
14. All time favorite ship?
KLAROLINE!!! NOW LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I really want to finish Divided We Fall, Falling For You and Songs of the Sea. I wouldn't say I doubt I'll ever finish them, just that I doubt I'll finish them while I'm still writing the tbbw series. Too much of the klaroline brain rot is invested in that fic alone.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've been told it's shifting between moods? So I can give readers whiplash in the emotions department - one minute you're crying, the next you're laughing. I like to think my strength is dialogue though. Even the way I write is focused around it.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Historical accuracy. I'll fall down a rabbit hole researching stuff like any writer, but the researching is more out of obligation and crippling writer guilt rather than actual enjoyment. Which is why I often take creative licence and go fuck it, history has its own au now bitches (sorry ella).
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
If its little words here and there - even a sentence or two - yes. Full conversations though unless you're fluent yourself are not fun to sift through.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
Star Wars? I want to say Star Wars. Idk those fanfics are over on my ffnet account which I will not be going back to anytime soon. I dare not go where the light doesn't touch, Mufasa speaks wisely.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
It used to be The Red Wedding but I actually love The Little Wolf more now. That one's a true labour of love, fueled on rage and spite, curtesy of Julie Plec.
I will tag @galvanizedfriend @kirythestitchwitch @marxandangels @bellemorte180 @impossiblekryptonitecolor @the-road-betwixt @purplesigebert @that-sarcastic-optimist

20 questions for fic writers
Tagged by @magnetarmadda; thank you!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
252, of which a full 227 are TMA
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count?
905,246
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Recently? TMA/TMagP, Discworld, and Good Omens. I'll jump into anything that gives me plot bunnies though, and there's been quite a few different ones over the years!
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Yesterday is Here
Déjà Vu
Misfiled and Misinformed
Humanity
Against All Probability
5. Do you respond to comments?
Always! I try to clear my inbox weekly and/or before I post a new fic, though I'm falling a bit behind right now with JonMartinWeek.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmm, probably Wedding Blues - it's a bad-ending Lonely!Martin fic
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
So, I write a lot of happy endings and I'm not sure how to rank them. Probably either Yesterday is Here again, or the Castaways series.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I think I've only ever gotten one hate comment? So no, not really.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I... try? I'm not very good at it and it takes absolute ages. It's been described as "very polite" smut, though I'm attempting to get a little raunchier with it as I get more practice.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yeah, I've written a couple! The craziest is probably the first one I did, a Good Omens/Skulduggery Pleasant crossover that I'm still quite fond of.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yep, Unsent and Courage in the Dark have both been translated into Russian!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
I don't know if I can give just one, honestly. For different reasons, both JonMartin (TMA) and Ineffable Husbands (Good Omens, primarily book not show).
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
This is a throwback but I still have notes for an epic, multi-part, 100k Gracious/Donegan origin story fic from back in my Skulduggery Pleasant days. I wasn't a good enough writer back then to finish something that ambitious and I doubt I'll ever get invested enough in the fandom again to go back to it... but it still lives on in my daydreams.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm... I'm good at conveying character emotions in a scene, and with pacing a story to make sure each new development or twist lands the way I want it to. I like to think I've got a knack for making dialogue sound in-character as well, even if I've put the characters in a situation that their canon selves would never be in.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action scenes. Balancing conversations between more than two people without having some of them drop off or dominate the scene. Keeping track of large casts of characters in general - I've written so many 2-person romances, I just don't have practice with larger groups.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it when other people do, but it's not something I've attempted myself. I'm only fluent in English and I'd worry that I'd written something completely inaccurate if I had to rely on google translate or similar.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Good Omens! (Book)
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh, do not ask me that, I beg of you. There are about a hundred fics I've written that could all qualify, depending on the day and what mood I'm in.
...I'll say Vous, et nul autre, for now, because I'm really proud of how that one turned out and the fact that I finished it at all - it's one of those that I had the idea for years before I was good enough to write it, and I really like being able to look at it now and see how far I've come.
Tagging... @my-lonely-angel, @fridayyy-13th, @grahamfolgersdeliciousnotebooks - only if y'all want to!

anon🕵️ - I'm one of those that hinted towards joondunk shows based on your love for 🐕‍🦺 fort :p
tutoryim are also a pretty visual cp to look for and firstkhao in the eclipse (only friends might be too intense if you are starting in bl). It's lovely to see your enthusiasm ☺️
feel free to post unhinged dunk moments because we rarely get them compiled unlike 🥑
for both firstkhao & joongdunk the bts are a must watch!
alsjdflasjdf OMG ANON YOU WERE RIGHT!?!?! I really want to make a post about all of joong and fort's similarities because like throughout this whole process i keep feeling like i was re-discovering joong because there's SO MUCH crossover and clearly i have a Type because it took nearly nothing for me to fall in head over heels for joong. *u* but there's so much??! the eyebrows, the eye crinkle smiles, the sunshine golden retriever disposition, the way they are overwhelmed by the cuteness of their respective partners, the way they're both engaging with alternative creative pursuits, the way they're both incredibly hard working and have such drive, the way they both melt when their partners give in/turn it back on them. i've so many FEELINGS about them rn.
tutoryim: i really really liked them in cutie pie. in fact they were the only couple i really... connected with?? so its was sad they were so minor. i tried to watch BOTW but grew frustrated with it before i could finish it. i plan to go back to it at some point with re-adjusted expectations because it definitely didn't live up to its potential but the visuals are <3
i'm excited to see firstkhao in THK!! i've been meaning to check out The Eclipse but just haven't cuz i don't have the time. but i'm also not sure i really want to watch yet another "school" series unless its for a cp i'm already invested in the way i am with joongdunk. so i may go back and watch it after THK.
wait, ok, what does the avocado emoji mean??? *confused* hahaha i need to find that one of dunk coping a feel of joong cuz it was so random and unnecessary. xD
also, bts of what? HA? *u*
🕵️‍️ - my hc for dk is that he gives spoiled young master vibes used to bat his eyelashes and joong is capital W whipped for him. based on the bts they seem to share the unhinged sense of humour bc dunk often baits him into it. i can't even imagine when they were matched as a cp. For joong to be introduced to this very pretty funny young man and dunk getting a handsome protective (he is so respectful of him particularly in regards to physical stuff) cp i wouldn't be surprised if other gmmtv actors/actresses would have wanted to pair with either of them, even now 😂🤣
just confirming dk = dunk? my brain went seventeen's main vocalist??? xD
ohhhhhh is he from a wealthy family?? tbh its so funny to me how many thai bl actors are just... from rich families because it means they could do anything and chose to make out with other pretty boys for their careers and that's so incredibly valid and i love it (yes, i am mostly thinking of mile).
honestly joong is so SO whipped for him. i am transfixed by that story of joong calling dunk before they were confirmed cp and being all "do you think we'll be put together? i hope we'll be put together" like he was so committed so fast ugh!!
and ohhhh i haven't seen anything much yet about joong being protective of dunk, but it wouldn't surprise me. he has the vibe. do you remember which interview/post it's from??
lol everything i've seen about gmmtv seems like all the actors just love everyone else a ton. like wasn't there this thing about gun atthaphan kissing another of the gmmtv boys (not his cp partner) and the internet going batshit crazy about it? xD so the vibe seems to be love all round and its very sweet. *u*

I'm curious as to how much flack Percy gets in regards to his x-force and wolverine run.
Tumblr media
This cap doesn't have anything to do with anything, I just find it funny.
So, in regards to Percy's writing of X-Force and Wolverine, I'm going mostly based off of Reddit and Tumblr for these general impressions, because these are the social networks I spend the most time on - minus Twitter, but Twitter is frankly always a cesspool, and people don't actually talk that much about X-Force or Wolverine on there, they talk primarily about X-Ladies.
Reddit actually just wrapped up a poll asking people to rank their least favourite Krakoa era books, and the results were. Interesting.
Tumblr media
So, Immortal X-Men was voted the best, with Hellions and X-Men Red trailing in second and third place - well deserved, frankly, those are all really quite excellent books. But we're not here to talk about excellent books, we're here to talk about Ben Percy!
Both of Ben Percy's comics were ranked as being in the bottom third of all Krakoa era comics (not including mini series). That's. Not great, honestly. That's usually what you'd call an indicator of a not well loved comic book.
Now, that's not to say that these runs don't have their appreciators - for one thing, they are objectively drawn pretty much consistently gorgeously. For all the flack I personally give Percy, he is competent at creating interesting body horror situations. There's a firm fanbase that's quite invested in Omega Red's redemption arc.
But I don't think there are many people who actually love these comics.
For one thing, the pacing is glacial. They are the single longest running ongoings of the Krakoan era, bar none, both of them looking to hit #50 in an era where other series are getting cancelled or cut short at #10 or #18 - and they have only just started to wrap up their major plot points. Beast was established to be pure evil back in issue #9, and it took until Wolverine #35 for him to be acted upon in a meaningful manner. Colossus was established to be under mind control years ago, also, and that has only JUST NOW been resolved.
A common response to this criticism was that Ben Percy is a novelist, and therefore used to writing his stories in a certain format - to which I say, cool, but you're writing for comic books, motherfucker. Adapt your style. I don't turn up to a watercolour painting class with a can of spray paint.
Another point people like to bring up is that Percy got 'screwed' by the higher ups extending the Krakoan story arc due to Hickman leaving and the other X-writers deciding to stick around in this stage of the story for longer. The theory goes that he has a set end point, and he's had to stretch the story out to make it work.
To which I say, if he's had even more time than he was meant to have, why do we know less psychologically about Beast now than we did at the beginning of the series? Why are Sage and Omega Red and Domino all begging for table scraps of story? What the fuck was even the point of the Kraven arc? A good writer who is interested in their characters and what they can say about them relishes more time to have them talk, not less, especially if you're getting paid to write it.
How in the goddamn hell did we have a company wide crossover event featuring a godlike being that forced characters to be judged for their actions, motivations and philosophies, and we didn't hear a single thing about Beast or Omega Red?
You could also just? End the story? Would the world really be that much of a poorer place without the adamantium surfboard and the evil space Nazi prison that literally mattered so little that Beast got arrested for it, then turned up again next issue like nothing had happened?
Which leads me to my next point - Beast's descent into villainy, whether or not you think it makes sense with how the character has been treated this last decade, does not make a fucking lick of sense. Everyone on the goddamn island of Krakoa is a fucking moron because X-Force is happening and no-one is watching what obviously evil Bond villain Beast is doing.
Jean Grey is staring Beast in the face, telling him that she believes that she thinks there's still good in him, while he's mentally thinking about what dead animal carcass to throw to Wolverine to break his mind and spirit. SHE IS A FUCKING TELEPATH.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Nightcrawler says Beast is utterly unethical and he doesn't trust him. Won't talk to him, though. Or check in on him. Or act against him. Beast was running an evil space Nazi prison in orbit, got caught, got taken away in handcuffs, and just. Walks. Away. Scot free.
From the Quiet Council.
How. The FUCK. Did that meeting go?
I don't know, but we'll never see it!
And every time you bring these things up, even the X-Force defenders just kinda have to shrug their shoulders and go, look, dude, I'm just here for the rad art and to watch how far Beast is gonna go this issue. Every other run during this era makes a grand effort to be connected, for Krakoa to feel like a breathing, living island . . . except for X-Force and Wolverine. They all just kinda. Exist in their own little universe.
It's called the Percyverse, incidentally. Legitimately. There's a full on term for it, this effect is so well documented and has been an issue for so long.
So, on Reddit at least, there's a pretty common derision for these runs. Some defenders, but no-one is ever gonna say that they're their favourites of the era. Most people are just kinda like, ehh, it's fun pulp, don't think too hard about it.
On Tumblr . . . yeah, this is something I actually have some personal experience with. You see a lot of X-Force panels posted from major comic book blogs because they catch attention and get a lot of notes, especially if it's a 'Beast does something evil' panel because you inevitably get a flood of people in the comments going HEY WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS, but you wanna know what I pretty much never see?
Fan art.
Idk, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place for it, but there's no fanart, for X-Force. I've seen exactly one piece of fan art for war criminal Beast. Exactly one. I've seen more explicit porn depicting the PS5 and Nintendo Switch fucking in weird robot form than I have fanart of X-Force. Fanfics, also, are very thin on the ground - I've seen maybe five, six, maybe seven?
I actually have one of the higher rated (in terms of views and kudos) X-Force related fanfics on AO3 by virtue of the Irredeemable Beast following on from that plotline, and even then, most of my comments are from people saying, oh hey, it's nice to see Beast back to his proper characterisation again (which is really nice to see, I love that!). I've had one or two people say that they think Beast is still evil, in the context of my story, but . . . honestly, that's an audience I want to cultivate and challenge, so I don't mind that. But still.
That's. Not a lot of fan engagement.
Hell, to go back to the Reddit point - there was a thread a month or two back asking what everyone's favourite X-Force incarnation was, and most people picked Uncanny X-Force (Remender's) or the original 90s run. A few people picked the Utopia era run.
Pretty much no-one I saw picked the Krakoan era book. And I was checking. I was craving that validation. And oh boy I got validated.
There's just. Not a lot going on in these books that's going to foster a dying love in a fan for them, honestly. There's not a lot of in depth characterisation, there's no grander point to the story other than 'CIA bad (but if it were run by these good guy field operatives who understand the necessary evils rather than the stupid bureaucrats, it would be better'). It's just. A pulpy comic book with a lot of violence and a one-note villain.
Who's going to go to bat for that?
In terms of more official flack, well, it's bad form to bad mouth your co-workers, so you're not gonna see a lot of people directly telling Ben Percy he sucks, BUT.
You've seen these panels before, right?
Tumblr media
. . . Guys, is this a joke?
And I don't mean, is this a badly produced panel that makes no sense, I don't mean, is this an insult to comic books, I don't mean, are you serious.
I . . . seriously kinda think that this panel is a joke.
Poking fun at X-Force.
Because X-Force Beast is the kind of boring psychopath who can only convey his argument through a PowerPoint. Like, that's a fucking meme. That's straight up a meme. That's the equivalent of, in this essay I will --
Tumblr media
Now, this one is also pretty funny, but also . . .
If you were a comic book writer, and you were in charge of a comic book that was getting some fairly intense criticism about the fact that a 60 year old legacy character is being written as the worst villain this side of Charles Manson, and LITERALLY EVERYONE on the internet is screaming that this HAS to be Dark Beast because it literally just doesn't make sense . . . what would you ask editorial to do?
Would you, perhaps, ask that Dark Beast be shown on panel in a different writer's book, acknowledging Beast's evil? That would give you some legitimacy, wouldn't it? Although, that's - a pretty desperate move, isn't it . . .
Especially considering the writer of that book (Kieron Gillen) fucking loves writing Beast. Like, legitimately loves him. You can tell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is not dialogue you give to a character you dislike. This is dialogue you relish getting to write because it's fucking fun. This is you getting free licence to get as esoteric and as wild with your dialogue as you want because you're getting to write Beast today.
Beast is fun to write. The writers of the 90s animated show literally said he was their favourite character to give dialogue to because he's so goofy and weird and intellectual.
Not convinced?
This is the same writer, Kieron Gillen, from years and years later (S.W.OR.D was 2009, this book is from 2015).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is why I think Kieron Gillen was digging at Percy there. Because he clearly loves this character, clearly really is invested in Beast and Abigail's relationship - they were BROKEN UP in normal comics by this point, and yet he went OUT OF HIS WAY to do this. To express a tenderness of feeling and a love and an affection for these characters that scans as genuine.
Hell, look at this.
Tumblr media
Is . . . Gillen poking fun at the fact that this fairly important relationship was ended on a whim eight years ago and no-one knows why? Because that's kinda what this reads as to me?
When I met Kieron Gillen at a comics convention a few years ago, I got him to sign my copy of S.W.OR.D. He said, and I quote, that he was fairly certain he'd signed every copy of it ever made. We both kinda laughed, because yeah, that story sold like shit, but also . . . everyone who read it got it signed, huh? And you remember this little 5 issue mini-series that got cancelled well enough to make a joke about it not selling well, with a distinct vibe of, everyone who actually read it loved it, sigh.
Interesting.
It's also worth noting that Jed McKay, currently writing the Avengers, has said that he wished he could have Beast on the roster, but he couldn't. He went out of his way to say that in an official interview.
Interesting.
It's ALSO worth noting that both Grant Morrison and Jonathan Hickman, when asked about Beast at an anniversary livestream, said they didn't see Hank as the kind of character who should be a villain, but merely someone who got into bad situations and reacted like a human to it. Which is. Not something you'd say about X-Force Beast, is it.
Interesting.
Very interesting.

My Comic Reading Journey - August 2024
Finally caught up on Tom Taylor's run on Titans by reading the Beast World event. I loved the event and the book overall, but I'm starting to notice a trend in the big two when it comes to event comics. All the stories now-a-days are built up in these event crossover comics, relegating the main books to just either be fallout from an event or buildup to an event, never having the time to tell there own isolated stories. I really wish they would take a break from events for just a year, because it is really tiring to get invested in a book only for it to be interrupted by an event.
I did start reading some more indie material this month (other than Red Sonja and Vampirella), my favorite of which has to be A Vicious Circle by Mattson Tomlin and Lee Bermejo. The writing and artwork in that book is so good, I can see why there is a year between releases for new issues of that. I'm actually inspired to hunt down more issues of that.
I finally caught up with Christopher Priest's run on Vampirella, and honestly I'm starting to get fatigued by his writing in that book. The book is in desperate need for a shakeup with a new creative team. I do like that they switched over to the legacy numbering for her, making the character feel more iconic.
The new Red Sonja run on the other hand in just getting better and better with each issue. It actually inspired me to go back and try to get into some past Red Sonja runs that I couldn't get into the first time around. Like Sonjaversal, and while the first 6 issues were meh, the last 6 issues I enjoyed a lot. So much so that I read Hell Sonja and it's sequel Red Sonja/Hell Sonja. Just such an interesting take on the character, and an interesting take on multiverse stories.

I'm working on a Hazbin hotel mlpfim crossover and aaaa
It started as a character design exercise and now I'm invested
Luna is a fallen angel who became a powerful overlord in hell (all the big bads of mlp are overlords and im Excited to draw them all tbh). Celestia blames herself for Luna falling and has been trying to prove sinners can be raised up to heaven because she Needs to have hope that she can save her sister.
Twilight is a very smart and kind sinner who honestly might have made it to heaven if she had good influences in her life or any actual friends, so Celestia decides to take her under her wing so to say.
Fluttershy is a failed exorcist. She couldn't bring herself to kill anyone. Dash, who's another exorcist, covered for her for a while but eventually couldn't anymore and Fluttershy ran
The rest of the mane 6 are normal sinners, along with most of the other characters

20 Questions for Fic Writers Tag Game
Thanks to @androxys for the tag!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
81! A fair number of those are drabbles, but still. Writing fic for (checks notes) 8 years really adds up.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
335,515
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, I am very invested in writing for DC comics and not doing much else, but in the past I've flitted from fandom to fandom, writing for various cartoons/tv shows and video games mainly.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
v) #Justice4Gotham -- My NML epistulary/blog fic. I think this one has the advantage of being a social media AU of sorts, but I really am quite happy that one of my No Man's Land fics made it into the top five. I still think this one is very fun.
vi) You Can't Spell Kuzon without Zuko -- My Zuko and Aang are childhood friends fic. I do like this fic and I'm glad that I was finally able to finish it after sitting blocked on it for nearly two years, but I honestly don't consider it one of my top fics in terms of response. It clearly has picked up a good number of kudos, but it felt like commenters were more interested what potentially happened next rather than the Aang and Zuko of what I'd put on the page that was what compelled me to write it in the first place.
iii) One Scar to Find Them -- This was my AtlA platonic soulmate AU where the entire gaang shares scars. I really liked soulmate AUs when I was younger, mainly because I liked all the various mechanics and I think this was the last hurrah of that. And also I thought it would be wild if everyone had Zuko's scar. I remember writing this all out in my notebook in bright pink pen and then letting it sit there for ages before I finally cleaned it up.
ii) Let's Steal a Fire Prince -- My Leverage x AtLA crossover. This was the first multi-chapter fic I actually finished so I am proud of it for that, even if looking back I can see some of my growing pains. I was really glad that other people loved this crossover idea as much as I did and I would've loved to come back to this universe more if I a) could actually write heists and b) didn't get sucked into other fandoms 😅
i) Former Hopes and Future Scars -- Another AtLA fic. I'm not surprised that this is my top fic since it's a) focused on Zuko, b) features Time Travel, and c) is a contained one-shot under 2k .
All but one of these are for Avatar: the Last Airbender which I think is a reflection of me writing during the pandemic-era AtLA renaissance and it also just being more broadly approachable compared to my comics stuff.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yep! I wasn't always super consistent with it, but I try and respond to every comment now.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Oh, this one's a hard one, there are so many good contenders! Probably You Will Live Forever (the dragonslayer!Willow fic I co-wrote with my bro Baz for the Owl House), but I would also like to give an honorable mention to I just keep falling now that you're gone the angsty next generation Miraculous Ladybug fic I wrote early in my fanfic writing career in which Adrien becomes the next Hawkmoth and his and Marinette's kids have to go up against him.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably some supremely fluffy fic I wrote for a ship event back when I was doing those. Other than that, maybe Robins Don't Make Great Roommates or Top 10 Secret Identity Fails? I don't think I really write super fluffy/happy endings.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've never really gotten hate per se on the fics themselves. I did get a review on a fic I posted to fanfiction.net once that was complaining that I had rated it K but used like, a single swear word I think. I also got a couple of anons on tumblr that were really didn't like the premise of one of my fics, but I just thought it was kind of silly that they were that upset about it.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Not my thing.
10. Do you write crossovers?
Yes. I have written so many crossovers. I'm honestly a little surprised the crossover bug hasn't bitten me for my comics fic more. I've done a couple Batman/Sandman crossover fics, but it feels different with them both being comics and also both published by DC.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of fortunately!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have written several Owl House fics with my beloved bro and co-conspirator @horatiocomehome. I'd love to cowrite something with him again some time but we are sadly currently obsessed with different fandoms. I'm also not opposed to trying co-writing with someone new!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I'm not super into shipping so this one's kind of tricky. If I had to choose maybe Ireneides from the Queen's Thief series or Celes/Locke from FFVI. I was also deeply committed to Sakura/Kaze from Fire Emblem: Fates, when I was younger, but the secret super AU version with a ton of lore from the elaborate AUs I daydreamed up.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?
For wips I have published, I'm either confident in my ability to finish them, or else have just excepted that I won't. In terms of wips that haven't made it to the light of day: Black Queen. I started writing this and got stuck but oh, it would be so fun.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think coming up with AUs. I like playing with all the pieces and figuring out how things ripple and change.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't think I've done much with this, but if I did I'd probably use dialogue tags so like "'My name is john," John said in Chinese' if the narrator knew the language and "John said something in Chinese' if they didn't.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Fire Emblem: Fates, baby
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Picking favorites is so hard ;; It would be a lie to say I love all my fics equally, but I do think I can say that I do love them all, even the very first ones I wrote. I guess for purposes of this game, I'll go with World Gone MAD because I am still very satisfied with how it turned out, but because I can't just pick one, I'd also like to give a shout out to Neither Heir nor Spare (The Sole Survivor) for being the fic that I think is pretty up there in terms of ones I reread the most and Turnabout Traitor! for being a very fun She Ra x Ace Attorney crossover.
Tagging, uhhh, @horatiocomehome, @acediscowlng, @dustorange and if anyone else is interested, consider yourselves tagged in spirit!
