Get Blemish-Free Skin with the Best Acne Solutions
Acne is a prevalent skin problem affecting people of all ages. It can be frustrating and impact self-esteem, but understanding its causes and finding effective treatments can lead to clearer, healthier skin. In this article, we will explore the best solutions for getting blemish-free skin, including both home remedies and professional treatments available, such as anti-acne treatment in Ahmedabad.
Understanding Acne: Causes and Types
When oil and dead skin cells clog hair follicles, acne results. Hormonal changes, especially during puberty, menstruation, or pregnancy, can increase oil production, leading to acne. Bacteria on the skin can also contribute to inflammation, resulting in red, painful bumps.
There are several types of acne. Comedonal acne includes blackheads and whiteheads, while inflammatory acne consists of papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts. Recognising which type you have is essential for choosing the right treatment. For those seeking effective solutions, anti- acne treatment in Ahmedabad can provide tailored options to help clear your skin and restore your confidence.
Tumblr media
Effective Home Remedies for Acne
Many people prefer to start with natural solutions before seeking professional help. Several ingredients can be effective in controlling acne at home.
Natural Ingredients for Blemish Control
Tea Tree Oil: This oil has antibacterial properties that can reduce inflammation and kill acne-causing bacteria. It can be diluted with a carrier oil and applied directly on blemishes.
Aloe Vera: Known for its soothing properties, aloe vera can reduce redness and irritation while promoting healing. Use fresh aloe vera gel on affected areas daily.
Honey and Cinnamon Masks: Both honey and cinnamon have antibacterial properties. Mixing them into a mask can help clear up acne and reduce blemishes.
Lifestyle Changes
In addition to topical treatments, making lifestyle changes can significantly improve your skin. Consider dietary adjustments, such as reducing dairy and sugar intake, which can trigger breakouts. Incorporating stress management techniques like meditation and regular exercise can also help maintain hormonal balance and reduce acne flare-ups.
Over-the-Counter Treatments
For those looking for more targeted solutions, over-the-counter treatments can be highly effective. Seek out products that include active components such as:
Benzoyl Peroxide: This ingredient kills bacteria and helps reduce oil production.
Salicylic Acid: This acid helps unclog pores and exfoliates the skin, making it suitable for treating acne.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs): AHAs help remove dead skin cells and promote new skin cell growth.
When choosing products, always read labels carefully and consider patch testing to avoid sensitivities.
Professional Treatments for Acne
If home remedies and over-the-counter products aren't yielding results, it might be time to consult a dermatologist. They can evaluate your skin and suggest relevant treatments.
Popular Procedures
Professional treatments for acne include:
Chemical Peels: These use acidic solutions to remove the top layer of skin, reducing acne scars and preventing future breakouts.
Microdermabrasion: This procedure exfoliates the skin to improve texture and reduce the appearance of acne scars.
Laser Therapy: This advanced treatment targets acne at its source by reducing oil production and killing bacteria.
Tumblr media
Maintenance and Prevention of Acne
Keeping up a regular skincare regimen is essential to avoiding breakouts in the future. Use non-comedogenic products that won’t clog pores, and ensure to moisturise and exfoliate regularly. Regular check-ups with a dermatologist can help monitor your skin's health and adapt your treatment plan as needed. If you are considering enhancing your skincare regimen, you may also want to ask about skin lightening treatment Ahmedabad to achieve an even skin tone.

Care according to skin type
To keep your skin looking young and beautiful for a very long time, it is very important to take care of your skin. But choosing the right set of skin care products and formulating a skin care regimen that is by your skin type is also very crucial. If you have a skin regimen or skin care products that you use that are not suitable to your skin type, you may actually be doing more harm to your skin. Using the wrong skin products may cause your skin to become sensitive and allergic and may even cause your skin to inexplicably breakout. Therefore adequate precaution should be taken in choosing the method of skin care. So, if you want to know more about skincare which is suitable to your skin type, keep reading.
Normal skin: – Although this type of skin is considered to be the ideal skin type, it is still important to take care of normal skin. The fundamental method of skin care i.e. cleansing, toning, and moisturizing applies to normal skin also. The correct method is to wash the face with a mild cleanser that does not have alcohol. The cleanser should be followed by an alcohol-free toner which will restore the pH balance of the skin. For normal skin, a mild formula of moisturizer is advisable. Home remedies may also be used for normal skin. Home remedies which include egg yolk and milk are preferable because they are moisturizing and give nourishment to the skin.
Dry skin: – If correct precautions and methods are not used in taking care of the dry skin, it can show premature signs of aging. Dry skin can very quickly become flaky and irritated and hence needs extra attention and care. People with dry skin should use cream cleansers or cleansing oils to clean their skin. Moisturizing products such as Shea butter, organic coconut oil, etc should be used. Once you have cleansed your skin, apply a toner that has moisturizing properties. Then to moisturize the skin use oil-based moisturizers which are very hydrating. Home remedies may also help in retaining the youthful glow. A face mask of honey, milk cream, and gram flour is also very beneficial to dry skin.
Oily skin:- While the focus in maintaining dry skin is on replenishing moisture, quite the opposite is true when it comes to taking care of oily skin. People with oily skin should focus on absorbing the excessive oiliness out of the skin. People with oily skin tend to believe that if they keep washing their face the oiliness will reduce. This is far from the truth. If you wash your face more than what is required it will cause more sebum to be produced which will cause the face to become even more oily. Oily skin should be toned with either ice cubes or astringents. Water-based moisturizers should be used on oily skin. People with oily skin often tend to skip moisturization. Oily skin also needs to be moisturized. Lack of hydration can also cause excessive oiliness. Suitable home remedies for oily skin may include Fuller’s earth mask with lemon juice and honey. This mask absorbs excess oiliness from the face and tightens the skin. The honey in the home remedy adds the right amount of moisture to the face as well. Facial scrubs should also be used once or twice a week, which will remove the blackheads and the whiteheads.
Combination skin: – Combination skin consists of parts that are dry as well as oily. Therefore, it requires different skin care precautions for different areas. The T-zone of the face is generally oily therefore the tips for oily skin apply to the T-zone. The T-zone should be cleaned with a mild cleanser and should be toned with an astringent. A lightweight moisturizer should be used. Try to use a moisturizer that minimizes the pores.
Sensitive skin: – Sensitive skin is very delicate therefore great precautions should be taken in choosing the right products for sensitive skin. Use hypoallergenic products and do not touch your face unnecessarily. Use organic products and be gentle while applying any products on your face.
Apart from all the remedies and tips, some basics are common to all types of skin. It is important to use sunscreen every time before you step out. Also, it is important to drink 2- 3 liters of water every day. Do not consume too much processed sugar or processed foods which can cause skin problems. In case you have any persistent skin issues, that do not respond well to topical treatments consult the best dermatologist. If you are allergic to any medication, do not take that medication without consultation and supervision of the best doctor.

Natural blackhead removal
Tumblr media
Blackheads are common skin issues caused by excess oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Home remedies for blackhead removal can be effective and affordable.
DIY blackhead removers include combining baking soda and water, using lemon juice and honey, or using steam to open pores. Steam can be used to gently squeeze blackheads, while apple cider vinegar and water can be used for a refreshing skincare solution.
Homemade blackhead removers can also be made using egg whites, oatmeal, or yogurt. Egg whites can be frothy and applied to the face, allowing it to dry completely. Oatmeal acts as a gentle exfoliant, while yogurt contains lactic acid that can help dissolve blackheads.
These methods can help remove blackheads and tighten pores, making them a more natural and affordable solution for skin care. Whether you prefer a DIY or homemade approach, these methods can help you achieve a clean and fresh face.
Homemade pore strips are a popular method for removing blackheads. Mix unflavored gelatin and milk to create a paste, then apply to areas with blackheads. Allow the paste to dry for 15 minutes before gently peeling off. Activated charcoal and glue are another option, drawing out impurities and binding them to remove blackheads.
Natural blackhead removal can be achieved using tea tree oil, witch hazel, or a blackhead vacuum. Tea tree oil has antimicrobial properties and can help kill bacteria and reduce inflammation, which can contribute to blackhead formation. Witch hazel acts as an astringent and tightens pores, tightening them and removing excess oil.
Instant blackhead removal can be achieved using a blackhead removal patch or a handheld device. Honey and cinnamon can also be used as homemade blackhead strips, with honey having antibacterial properties and cinnamon improving blood circulation. These methods can help remove blackheads and unclog pores.

Treatments For Acne At Home
Home remedies for acne include natural ingredients like tea tree oil and honey, and good habits such as moisturizing daily. They may not completely cure the condition, but they can minimize the appearance of acne pimples and sores.
Acne is caused by the pores becoming clogged with excess oil or dead skin cells and infected with bacteria. The condition may be mild or severe, causing red bumps and pus-filled spots that look like small blackheads on the surface of the skin. Treatments for acne at home can help reduce inflammation and eliminate the bacteria that cause infection. However, many home remedies for acne have not been shown to be clinically effective and some can even make the problem worse.
Certain over-the-counter and prescription acne products can help reduce the frequency of breakouts by killing the bacteria that cause inflammation and blocking pores, and removing the oil that causes clogging. Over-the-counter products that treat acne can be creams, gels, face washes, or other skin cleansers. Most of these contain chemicals such as benzoyl peroxide, which works by destroying bacteria that can cause inflammation and clearing the pores. However, this medication is not the best solution for people with moderate or severe acne because it can dry out the skin and cause other side effects.
Other at-home treatments for acne are natural and surprisingly simple. These include a gentle chemical exfoliant, such as one containing salicylic acid, or a physical exfoliant, which can be created by mixing equal parts of sugar or salt with water. This scrub can be applied to the skin and gently rubbed. However, physical exfoliation should be used with caution because it can cause the skin to become irritated and sensitive.
Another home remedy for acne is cucumbers, which can be cut in half and placed over the eyes to reduce puffiness. They are also a great source of vitamin C, which can reduce inflammation and improve skin tone. Alternatively, slices of raw potato can be put on the skin to soothe it. Other natural solutions include a homemade facial mask, which can be made with yogurt and turmeric; both are antibacterial and contain antioxidants that fight inflammation.
Lastly, one of the best natural remedies for acne is to change one’s diet. A low glycemic diet, which includes whole grains and lean meats, has been proven to prevent acne, because it limits the amount of sugar and processed foods in one’s body. It also helps with digestion, which in turn can prevent acne. It can also be beneficial to see a naturopath or dietician who is familiar with the pros and cons of using natural skin care products. This person can guide you through the use of natural remedies that can improve your acne and promote healthy skin from the inside out. They can also recommend dietary supplements and other natural products that may help. If you are having severe acne, it is best to see a dermatologist, who can prescribe more advanced and powerful medications that can provide fast relief.
Our Acne Doctor Australia doctors can prescribe medications your family doctor (GP) can’t prescribe. These special medications are the most effective in clearing stubborn acne. Talk to your GP first before making your appointment with us. Ask them for a referral to Acne Doctors at Teledermatologist.

In a bowl, add a teaspoon of baking powder and squeeze out the juice of half a lemon.
Mix the two to make a thick paste. Now apply this mixture on a clean and slightly damp face.
You can cover the spots and marks first, then use the rest to apply to the remaining areas.
Let it sit for a few minutes, then wash your clothes first with warm water and then with a jet of cold water.
Dry your skin and apply a moisturizing sunscreen.
It is preferable to use at night, as exposure to the sun can darken your skin after using lemon juice.
Use this option once or twice a week to see the visible changes.
4. Baking soda for preventing blackheads
If you have oily skin, you are likely to have blackheads and blackheads, common on your face. And when you have enlarged pores, these problems are even more common, making your face look blotchy. Baking soda can help to minimize this problem by closing the pores of the skin and also making them a little smaller. This ingredient has astringent properties that help to close the pores and prevent them from clogging with dirt, which causes blackheads and acne. Here’s what you need to do:
a. How to use it
Take a tablespoon of baking soda and pour it into a spray bottle.
Now fill with water and shake well to mix the two.
Wash your face with a detergent and dry it with a towel. Then, spray the solution on your face and let it rest so that your skin can absorb it.
This will help to close the pores. You can keep the solution in the refrigerator to make it work even better.
Make this part of your daily cleansing ritual to help prevent skin problems. You can apply your facial moisturizer after using this natural toner.
5. Baking soda to remove dead skin cells
Dirt, soot and soot usually accumulate on our skin and do not always come out with our regular facial wash. To remove these tiny dust particles, we need a more effective detergent that cleans pores and removes these contaminants. A facial scrub is useful for these skin problems. Baking soda helps to exfoliate your skin, which removes dead skin cells along with these impurities.
a. How to use it
Take a tablespoon of baking soda and half a tablespoon of water.
The idea is to make a thick, granular paste so that it can peel off the skin. So, be careful not to dilute it with water.
After washing your face, apply this scrub in a circular motion, carefully avoiding the area around the eyes.
Now wash with normal water and dry your face.
Apply a moisturizer to prevent skin irritation.
This scrub is not suitable for dry and sensitive skin, but it is best for oily to combination skin.
Use it once a week to keep your skin looking fresh.
6. Baking soda for soft, pink lips
Harmful health habits like smoking, licking your lips and even long-lasting lipsticks can damage your lips and darken your color. Although most of us have pink lips, if we don’t take good care of them, the shade will change. Sun exposure is another cause of dark lips. If you want to regain your natural color, baking soda can help. We mix it with honey so that it is not too hard on sensitive skin and also moisturizes it in the process.
a. How to use it
You will need equal amounts of baking soda and honey and, as it is for your lips, you will not need more than a teaspoon.
If your lips are too dry, add more honey than soda.
Mix the two well and apply to the lips in small circular motions.
This will help to exfoliate them and get rid of dead skin cells.
Honey removes impurities and adds the necessary moisture.
Let this pack remain on your lips for a few minutes before washing it gently with warm water
Apply SPF lip balm after the procedure.
7. Baking soda for dark elbows and knees
Fair skin is not a measure of beauty, but even the lightest woman often has dark elbows and knees. If that difference in skin color bothers you, this wrap can brighten. We use baking soda and potato juice, both with natural bleaching properties. Since these areas have thicker skin than the face, anyone can safely use them without becoming excessively dry. However, we recommend using an SPF moisturizer daily to keep these areas soft.
a. How to use it
Peel a small potato and grate well.
Squeeze the juice into a bowl and add a teaspoon of baking soda.
Mix well and apply to your elbows and knees with a cotton ball.
Let it act for 10 minutes for the ingredients to work and then wash under running water.
Apply a moisturizing sunscreen after use.
Use this remedy once or twice a week and soon your skin will become clearer.
You can also use this solution on the inside of your dark thighs and forearms.
8. Baking soda to remove ingrown hairs
The ingrown hair is such a threat that it looks like a hard lump on the skin and refuses to disappear until it is pulled out. Internal growth is basically the hair that grows in the hair follicle instead of germinating, making it difficult to get rid of it with common methods of hair removal, such as shaving and shaving. While it is difficult to stop ingrown hairs completely, you can use baking soda and some other ingredients to remove them. Most of the time, women with thick hair or oily skin are more likely to have ingrown hairs.
a. How to use it
First, massage the castor oil into the skin, where you have ingrown hairs.
Once the skin has soaked the oil, wipe off any excess liquid with a damp cotton swab.
Now mix the baking soda with half the water to make a thick paste.
Rub on the affected area to exfoliate. Using tweezers, pull the ingrown hairs out effortlessly.
Apply a cotton swab dipped in cold water to close the pores.
The oil will ensure that your skin is not dry and irritated, while the soda will help separate the hair from the follicle.
9. Baking soda to remove body odor
Baking soda has several properties that make it a wonderful ingredient. If you sweat a lot and have problems with body odor, baking soda can come to your rescue. This is because it has an antibacterial property that kills the bacteria that cause the odor. Baking soda also absorbs excess moisture when you sweat and alkalize your body. This not only helps to control body odor, but also reduces sweating.
a. How to use it
Take a tablespoon of baking soda and mix in equal parts with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
After obtaining a thick paste, apply it where you sweat most, for example, B. armpits, back, neck, etc.
Leave for 15 minutes and then take a shower. You can also keep this solution in a spray bottle and squirt once a day before taking a shower.
Do this for a week and then reduce it to alternate days when it works.
10. Baking soda for soft feet
Our feet also need some TLC, but we often don’t spoil them enough. To make them look nice and soft, we need to take care of them regularly. If you don’t want to have prolonged pedicure sessions at a beauty salon, you can use baking soda to soften the callus and even clean your toenails. The exfoliating property helps to remove dead skin cells and soften the feet, while antibacterial properties keep infections under control.
a. How to use it
Fill half a bucket with warm water and add three tablespoons of baking soda.
Let it dissolve and soak your feet in the solution for 10 minutes.
Keep a pumice stone near you to help you remove dead skin from your soul.
When you are finished, wash your feet with water and dry them.
Then, apply a moisturizing lotion and put on socks to keep them protected.
Do this at least once in 15 days and your feet will thank you.
  B. Can I Use Baking Soda for Face Wash?
Lately, baking soda has been seen as the essence of green cleaning and natural beauty. From using it to wash your hair to magically treating a urinary tract infection and relieving insect bites, there is little that the internet doesn’t say that dust can do. And while it’s true that baking soda is great for adding shine to your bathtub and neutralizing unwanted body odors, it doesn’t mean that rubbing it on your face is a good idea. Here’s why.
1. Why baking soda should not be used to wash your face
There are a few reasons why baking soda should never be used on your face. Including:
a. So simple
Sodium bicarbonate, or sodium bicarbonate, is most commonly used for the relief of heartburn because it is a basic chemical that helps to neutralize the acid. This can also happen on the skin. Although dermatologists sometimes use baking soda to neutralize a chemical peel in the office, it is usually very easy for a general wash, especially if used frequently.
Healthy skin is slightly acidic. This acid mantle forms a protective barrier and is important for the overall health of the skin. Washing with baking soda can remove the protective oil barrier from the skin, changing its pH and destroying the natural bacteria on the surface that help prevent infections and acne. This can cause peeling of the skin, which is prone to infections and rashes.
b. Sensitivity
Although baking soda is generally not harmful, it can irritate the skin. Most people do not realize that they are sensitive to baking soda until they are applied directly to the skin. It is known to cause skin rashes, redness and a burning sensation in some people when used in homemade or natural deodorants.
If you react to baking soda, avoid baking soda products and use a fragrance-free moisturizer until the irritation is gone.
c. Excessive peeling
Proper exfoliation can even out the skin tone and make it look better, but it is also very easy to achieve very well. Excessive exfoliation can cause redness, rashes, burning and dry skin. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends giving your skin plenty of time between exfoliation treatments to prevent irritation or, if you have sensitive skin, avoid it completely.
Much like a salt or sugar scrub, baking soda acts as a physical peel when made into paste or not completely dissolved in water. Exfoliation can be useful, but day and night exfoliation, as if it were washed with baking soda, is not recommended.
2. What to use instead
The best skin care products depend on your skin type. It may require some experimentation, but at some point you will find a solution for washing your face that suits your needs.
a. Dry or sensitive skin
If your skin gets irritated easily or dries out frequently, look for glycerin-based cleaners or bars. They help to protect skin barriers and do not remove the skin’s natural moisturizing oils. Facial cleansers labeled “detergent-free” can also be beneficial as they are less likely to remove the oil your skin needs.
b. Oily skin
The foam is your friend. A foam cleanser can help remove excess oil from your skin.
c. Acne-prone skin
Acne-prone skin can be dry, oily or a combination of both, which makes choosing a cleanser a little more difficult. A medical cleanser that contains salicylic acid, glycolic acid or benzoyl peroxide can help, but these ingredients can also dry out your skin and cause irritation.
Use a mild cleanser if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin.
d. Remove makeup
It is important to remove makeup properly to avoid rashes, clogged pores and even eye infections. However, you also don’t want your face to be red and burning when you’re done.
Detergents based on oil or oil and water are the best to remove the waxy products found in makeup. Jojoba oil, coconut oil and olive oil are great for gently removing makeup. Be careful with products that contain alcohol, as they can dry out and irritate.
e. Flaking
Glycolic and salicylic acid cleansers can help remove dead skin and chemically exfoliate your skin. You can also use a chandelier or electric brush gently. Just make sure to apply light pressure and give your skin enough time to recover between peels. Excessive exfoliation can cause pores to swell, making irritation and rashes worse.
f. Uniform skin tone
Exfoliation can help reduce dullness and even skin tone. Detergents with antioxidants like vitamins like C, E or B can help relieve redness. Green tea extracts and caffeine can make your complexion more uniform.
g. Natural face wash
All you need is water and your hands to wash your face properly, especially if you don’t have makeup or skincare products. Oils such as olives, jojoba and coconut can remove makeup and other oil-based products, such as aquaphor and petroleum jelly.
3. Summary
Washing your face doesn’t have to be overwhelming or overly complicated. It can be as simple as washing with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser designed for your skin type and specific needs. Although baking soda certainly has its place in natural life, it’s best left off your face.

Top 6 Oily Skin Home Remedies
Tumblr media
You can have oily skin if your face is always shiny and greasy. Your oily face is caused by excess sebum produced by sebaceous glands linked to your hair follicles. Acne, whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples can all be caused by too much oil on your skin.
Though oily skin is inconvenient, natural remedies for oily skin can help you reduce the shine and draw out the excess oil. The trick is to avoid scratching your oily skin by treating it gently. aloe vera gel, tea tree oil, clay, lemon, and honey are several natural home remedies that can help you control oily skin and alleviate some of its symptoms. It’s helpful to bear in mind that people with oily skin are less likely to grow wrinkles than combination skin.
Who does not like to have that flawless skin? All of us do right. However, not everyone is blessed with perfect skin, blemish or spots free, and has the right skin tone. A few of us have very oily skin, especially the T-zone is pretty oily, and this indeed disturbs us. However, the good news is that there are multiple ways of treating oily skin. Here we have mentioned six home treatments for oily skin.
The Roots of Oily Skin
Tumblr media
Your skin serves as a shield to protect your internal organs from harmful environmental factors such as bacteria and ultraviolet radiation. Your sebaceous glands contain sebum, which waterproofs your skin and hair.
Many factors may contribute to oily skin, some of which are beyond your control. Fluctuating hormone levels may trigger sebum overproduction during puberty and the menstrual cycle. Some medicines, such as corticosteroids, will make your face look shiny.
You must keep your oily skin under control. It can lead to more severe skin issues like acne if left unchecked. Oily skincare tips may assist in the treatment of oily skin.
 Oily Skin Home Remedies
1. Aloe Vera gel
Aloe Vera is well-known for its skin-healing and nurturing properties, making it an excellent acne-prone, oily skin option. Aloe vera can be used to treat a variety of skin issues and breakouts due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.
You should perform a small patch test to ensure that you are not allergic to aloe vera before using it as a natural remedy for oily skin. Aloe vera allergies are more common in people who are allergic to garlic, onions, or tulips.
2. Tea Tree Essential Oil
Using tea tree oil is commonly known as the most effective oily skin tips. Tea tree oil has antibacterial properties, making it suitable for combating acne-causing bacteria. It also assists in the management of inflammation and the reduction of redness.
Tea tree oil spot treatment can help treat acne or pimples formed from your oily face. Tea tree oil may be applied directly to pimples with a cotton swab for small areas.
3. A face mask made of oatmeal
An oatmeal facial scrub is a perfect home remedy for dry skin that also helps with acne treatment. Oatmeal is a healthy moisturizer with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and skin-healing properties. Use this oatmeal mask to remove dirt and oil from your face.
4. Face mask with baking soda and lemon
Your oily skin will benefit from the mixture of lemon and baking soda. Lemons are high in vitamin C and citric acid, which naturally disinfect and eliminate excess oil from the skin. Natural acids will exfoliate and cleanse oily skin gently, leaving it toned and even.
5. Use a turmeric face mask
The turmeric face mask is suitable for acne, eczema, and grease
y skin. It has the potential to minimize inflammation and redness while also encouraging skin healing. Turmeric has been used for skin rejuvenation because of its antioxidant properties.
6. Honey face masks
Honey face masks are calming for irritated skin, antibacterial for acne, and hydrating for dry skin. Honey can help cure mild acne by attacking the bacteria that cause breakouts while also moisturizing and rejuvenating the skin.
Conclusion
If self-care remedies for oily skin haven’t worked for you, consult your doctor or dermatologist. Another underlying cause may be causing the symptoms. If your dry skin has turned into acne, your doctor will recommend other treatments to manage your condition.

What is the best way to treat acne?
Before I go on with my blog post, I would like to talk a little bit more about acne. Do you know what acne is? Acne is defined to be a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Wondering what hair follicles are? Hair follicles are the living part of the hair that contains cells and connective tissues.  Acne, also, is a disorder that affects the skin's oil glands. It is also known as pimples. I've seen so many people here on our island suffering from acne. Acne is the most common skin disorder of teenagers affecting about 85%. It does destroy one's beauty leaving them to look displeasing.  Acne often causes whiteheads, blackheads, pimples as I mentioned before and it usually appears on the forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders.
Maintaining a good and healthy skin care routine can prevent acne breakouts. Like I've mentioned in my previous blog post, make sure to wash your face twice a day with soap and water. Washing your skin especially your face and hands with water and soap daily can help lower the spread of coronavirus which is currently spreading all over the world today.  So we must start a good skincare routine to protect ourselves from skin problems and diseases as well.
As Samoans, we need simple and affordable products to get rid of our acne. We barely have any products here on our island that can help us get rid of acne, pimples and blackouts. Therefore, I will share with you some home remedies of your choice that can treat acne below.
1: Baking Soda
Baking soda is a  pleasing home remedy that can help a person get rid of acne/ pimples because it exfoliates the skin to remove excess oil, dirt, and dead skin cells. First, you must make a thick paste by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with water or lemon juice or anything you want.  Baking soda has plenty of uses. Using it to cure acne is one of it's uses.
2: Oatmeal
Oatmeal is another remedy that can help cure acne. It is naturally soothing, and this simple oatmeal mask can help clear acne. Mix 2 teaspoons of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and add some enough water then can form a paste. Rub the paste all over your face and gently rub it in.
3:Simple Honey Mask
This mask is simple. Before applying this mask, make sure to rinse your face with warm water to open up pores. Then apply honey and leave it on the skin for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, rinse the honey off with warm water then rinse it again with cold water to close the pores.
4: Cucumber Face Mask
The cucumber face mask is a cooling, soothing face mask which will help smooth your skin, which can often feel rough from acne. Smash one cucumber, strain the water, add 1 tablespoon of sugar and mix well. Apply it to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes, then wash with cold water. ~Cook-Bolden.
I hope these have helped those of you with acne that needs to be cleared and has satisfied you enough. Those are some of the easiest home remedies I've found online that will help you get rid of your acne, pimples, pores and so forth. So instead of looking for expensive products that are nowhere to be found here on the island but online, trying those simple remedies,  listed above can save you.  Have a Blessed Weekend and stay safe<33.
