A sense of serenity and calm washed over Bucky Barnes as he walked into the flower shop. The fragrance and colors almost overwhelmed him the first time he went in, but he learned to adjust. One of the only blessings of the trauma he experienced is that he could be extremely adaptable when the occasion called for it. Now he craved the sweet scent that surrounded him.
The way he craved you.
“Hi, Bucky,” you called from behind the counter. “Right on time.”
Like when he saw you the first time, he stared at you for far too long. He was still too intrigued to care if you caught him. Unlike most people around him, you never cowered under his gaze. You always greeted him with a smile which was enough to make his heart skip a beat.
Even if your smile didn’t reach your eyes today.
Still beautiful. Still mine.
“Thanks,” he said, taking a quick look around as he made his way to the counter where his flowers were waiting. “I brought you something.”
Let me guess?” you asked, your smile still not as bright as normal. “A candy bar because I’m so sweet?”
Sweet enough to melt on my tongue.
“What gave it away?” he asked, handing it over with a small smile of his own. He could have set it on the counter, but he liked having an excuse for his fingers to brush against yours. “One day I might switch it up on you.”
“No, this is nice,” you said, sniffling. “Thank you.”
I’m reliable. Dependable.
Predictability had a way of putting some at ease. It communicated stability, safety, and security. He made sure you knew exactly what time he’d be at the shop and on which day. He always purchased the same flowers. Always brought the same wrapped candy after you commented one day that you craved it.
You'll crave me the way I crave you.
“Beautiful,” he said as he inspected the small bouquet and took a moment to steal a glance at you. Not that he needed to look over the arrangement. They were perfect every time, right down to the perfect ribbon bow to hold them together. “Mrs. Bradshaw will love them.”
Every week he bought a small bouquet of tulips for his elderly neighbor. She didn’t have many people to look out for her, so he checked in whenever he could. In some ways, she reminded him of Rebecca. Or at least what he thought Rebecca would be like if he got to see her grow up. Maybe it was why he felt the need to protect her.
He felt the need to protect you, too.
Just not from myself.
“It’s nice that you do that,” you said, ringing them up with another quiet sniffle.
“I don’t mean to pry, but is everything okay?” he asked, putting the change in the small bowl by the register.
“Just not a great day,” you tried to brush off.
“Bad customer? I don’t mind taking care of them. Just tell me who,” he offered.
A man screamed at you weeks ago over the cost of flowers for his wedding. You explained that he was receiving a discount and the price was agreed upon, but it wasn’t good enough for the jerk. You threw him out after he shattered one of your vases.
Bucky shattered one of his knees.
I’m not a bad man.
“No, it wasn’t a bad customer,” you said, your eyes misty as you reached for the candy bar and changed your mind.
"You can talk to me," he urged, placing his hand on yours long enough to provide comfort without being uncomfortable. "I'm your friend, right?"
I'm actually more than that.
"Yeah," you nodded, taking a deep breayhy. “You know my boyfriend?”
Bucky didn’t say anything for a moment. When his slight obsession with you began, he found out everything he could. While it didn't surprise him that you had a boyfriend, it disappointed him. Especially when he discovered that he was a decent man. Always friendly when he visited the shop. Even kept your place nice and tidy when he stopped by.
It was a feat Bucky didn't break every single one of his fingers for touching you.
“Yeah, I know of him.”
“He dumped me. Through a text,” you said as more tears welled up. “Just said we were through. No explanation. When I tried to call him, he blocked me."
“I’m sorry to hear that,” he said, his voice filled with sympathy as he grabbed a pack of tissues from his jacket pocket.
"My stuff was in a box this morning, waiting in front of my door," you went on. "I thought things were going great between us. Not too fast or too slow, but I guess I was wrong. Maybe he was seeing someone else."
"If he was, he's an idiot,” he said, itching to walk around the counter to hug you. It broke his heart to see you upset. “They can't see someone as perfect as you when they have you right in front of them.”
“I’m not perfect,” you argued, dabbing your eyes with the tissue. “Look at me. I’m crying in the middle of the shop.”
“You’re perfect to me,” he said.
In every way.
"Thanks, Bucky. You've always been very kind."
“It’s the other way around,” he said, clearing his throat. “And I appreciate it more than you know.”
Because of Bucky’s past, he did his best to blend in most days. As a man forced to do bad things against his will, the truth behind his actions didn’t matter to some. They had their minds made up about him and would never trust him because of what he did.
Do people feel better by making me a villain?
But one day, while he was out trying to make amends, he spotted you helping a homeless man on the sidewalk. He had seen him before. Most passed him without a second glance, but you crouched down and checked on him. You even gave him a bit of food you had on you and some money.
“I wish I could give you more, but that’s all I have,” you said.
The man nearly cried with gratitude. No one else cared, but you did. That was when you spotted Bucky looking your way. He could avoid being seen if he wished, but part of him wanted you to notice him. If you recognized him, in a good or bad way, you didn’t show it. You merely smiled, gave him a friendly nod, and walked on.
As if you hadn’t changed his life.
Bucky didn’t mean to follow you at first, but he had to make sure you got to wherever you were going safely. He didn't want anything bad to happen to you. Besides, a gaze between the two of you wasn't enough to leave him satisfied. Once he squashed his curiosity and made sure you were okay, he thought he’d leave you be.
He was wrong.
The second he walked into the shop and saw you again, he knew you had to be his.
“You’re caring and strong. You deserve kindness and respect,” he told you, wondering if the depths of his feelings showed in his eyes. “Someone who will love and cherish you for who you are.”
“I might cry again,” you smiled.
It reached your eyes this time.
“I’m just glad you’re smiling again,” he said. It would be beautiful to wake up to it each day. He was going to make that happen.
“Is it okay if I ask for a hug?”
“Sure,” he said, opening his arms.
You moved around the counter and leaned into him with a sigh. He smiled as he held you, feeling a warmth inside of him that he hadn’t felt since before he met you. He imagined many times how he’d make you shiver with need once he had his hands on you and it took strength not to stretch you out on the counter.
Just like it took him strength not to touch you in your home.
Watching wasn’t enough. It never was. He’d have you in his bed soon.
Where you belong.
“It’s probably for the best. I think he was stealing some of my panties,” you said against his shoulder before you gasped. “Oh, my god! I shouldn’t have told you that. I’m so sorry.”
Bucky loved the feel of your satin underwear around his cock. It was easy to imagine how wet they’d be against your pussy as he teased you. Not that you’d wear underwear much once he had you. Maybe he’d keep you in one of his Henley’s. Or a plaid shirt so he could rip it open. Or little sundresses so he could push them up around your hips.
So many options.
“Don’t be sorry,” he smiled when you kept your face hidden. “I’m glad you’re comfortable with me.”
As you should be.
“Thank you, Bucky,,” you said, lifting your head and gazing at him. "You're a good guy."
"I'm trying to be," he whispered, holding you a bit tighter before he let you go.
If anything, he'd be good to you.
"Here," you said as you pulled away and grabbed the largest red rose in the shop. “You should find someone special to give this to. I think they’d be very lucky.”
“Yeah, I think I will,” he said as a couple walked through the door. “I should let you help them. Is it okay if I see you tomorrow? Just in case you need a friend."
"I'd like that," you smiled.
"I'll see you later then," he smiled back.
“Bye. Thanks again."
Bucky left the rose next to the candy bar when you weren't looking and walked out the door with his tulips in hand. He’d have to explain to Mrs. Bradshaw that he’d be moving shortly. His new home was ready. A place outside of the city. Quiet. Secluded.
Perfect for the two of you.
Bucky was going to take great pleasure in the two of you christening every room of the place. He'd even fill the rooms with roses and other flowers to show how special you are. You deserved beauty in your home.
He frowned when he suddenly thought of your tears. Your now ex-boyfriend hadn't seen him coming. As much as part of him hated that he ever touched you, had been inside you, he didn't want to cause an innocent man pain. Not when his only crime was that he wanted you.
I just wanted you more.
He almost felt guilty for sending the text and blocking your number. He felt even worse when he remembered how the light left his eyes. That feeling went away when he boxed up your things. It had to be done.
No one would find the body.
Maybe I am a villain, but I'll be your hero, too.
Once Bucky saw you home safely tonight, he’d wait until after midnight to make his move. He did say he'd see you tomorrow. He’d show you how easy it is to break into your place undetected and bring you to your new home. A place where he could keep you safe from a world that didn’t deserve your kindness.
He didn’t have a choice or control over his life in years past, but he did now. He chose to take back control. To begin again.
Starting with you.
And who better to love and protect you than the former Winter Soldier?
You'll love your new home, right? Bucky thinks so. Love and thanks for reading! 💙

hetalia axis & allies (+ canada) xmas headcanons
1.6k words ~ gender neutral headcanons
tw: uhhh christmas obviously. mention of religion and underwear?? uh... i think that's it
a/n: this is my first christmas as a jewish convert so that's been weird. anyway I just wanted something quick, so its mostly a list of gift ideas (:
America
Alfred is SUCH a huge Christmas fan. I mean, canonically he dresses up as Santa, so he goes all out for the entire month of December. He's been working on a huge holiday home display for decades, and it shows.
He plays Santa at his local mall during the weeks leading up to Christmas; and on the night of, he hands out hot cocoa outside his house. It's fun, but it also means he's a little distracted when it comes to you.
What he would get you: Posters of your favourite movies, super comfy pyjamas, expensive figures of characters you like, candy you like but never get for yourself, model planes or Legos for you two to build together, novelty pens, a stupid cowboy costume so you can match <3, those handmade coupons because he 1. Loves you and 2. Forgot about Christmas until yesterday
What he would want: Any video games, Funko Pops, vinyls of music he likes, those big packs of shirts (he is constantly running out of shirts because he rips or irreparably stains them,) Marvel comics, anything with an eagle on it, those mini wacky waving inflatable tube men things, bulk pens and pencils because he also breaks those constantly-
England
Arthur is not big into Christmas and never has been. He'll celebrate with you, but he's not going out when it comes to any aspect. If anything, he finds it a little exhausting getting gifts for everyone
But, he does adore walking around and looking at all the lights. He'll do that a couple times with you in December.
What he would get you: Any novel you’ve mentioned even once, tickets to a concert both of you will enjoy, classy jackets that fit you perfectly, cute keychains, fancy art supplies, fragrances that remind him of you, bags/purses that fit your style, CDs
What he would want: Sewing supplies (thread, new needles, new fabric scissors,) framed photos of the two of you, Doctor Who merch, foreign tea, a book on how to take care of your eyebrows properly (he will not learn otherwise,) slippers, those sarcastic magnets that all millennial women have at least one of, any ridiculous piece of merch with the union jack on it
France
Francis has very mixed feelings about Christmas. On one hand, he hates how consumerist it has become, but on the other hand, nothing makes him happier than seeing the joy the season brings to others.
Plus, he does enjoy giving and receiving presents. The music too? Wonderful. As long as you don't get too stressed out, the holiday should be perfect.
What he would get you: Tons of clothes; stuff that's already your style, and completely new stuff, room decorations (NOT posters,) a reservation at a nice restaurant, bracelets that he made for you, makeup (if you like that kind of thing,) candles that smell like his cologne, CHEESE
What he would want: Fancy fabric, any clothes (he doesn’t care what they are as long as you think they’d look good on him…) paintings or photography, literally ANYTHING creative you’ve made, hair ties (he loses at least 5 a day,) bird stuffed animals, (Basically anything! Francis is not picky)
China
Christmas is a new occurrence for Yao, and he isn't the biggest fan. He'll buy you stuff for it, but he would do that normally. The lights and the music aren't anything special to him either. Basically, he won't celebrate unless you want to.
What he would get you: Elaborate, very expensive jewellery, huge stuff like a car, Chinese cookbooks, traditional clothes that he made specifically to represent you (: luxury handbags (that he got at SUCH a good discount,) tons of weird off-brand merch of your favourite show, probably a nice meal too!
What he would want: Yao is hard to buy for. Soft robes, stuff to help with back pain, face masks, Hello Kitty keychains… reading glasses maybe?
Russia
Although he isn't as excited about Christmas as he is about the New Year, he still loves the holiday. It's a nice excuse to see family, and everyone is just so happy around the season! He's especially excited to celebrate it with you.
He's not the best at giving gifts, but he could be worse. Regardless of whether you like all of it, you're gonna get a lot of stuff.
(Also, he plays Santa for the kids sometimes. It's so cute-)
What he would get you: Random knick-knacks he probably found at a local market, knitted hats and gloves in your favourite colour, a scarf to match his, tickets to go somewhere warm on vacation, stuffed animals! books that made him think of you (usually philosophical or religious novels,) pretty rocks (:
What he would want: SUNFLOWERS! (This works for every occasion,) baked goods, clothes that aren’t 250 years old- new doilies and paintings to decorate his house, pictures of yourself, friendship bracelets, stuffed animals, if you can make a scarf somehow, DO THAT
North Italy
Feliciano cares about Christmas in a more religious way, but he's never mad about getting presents. So, he'll probably spend most of the day in church, but he still did put a lot of effort into getting you stuff you love.
What he would get you: Pajamas & bath robes, shitty romance novels that he wants you to read, weird hand-made knick-knacks, makeup, strange mugs that he found at a thrift store, a painting of you (: probably a pair of his boxers-
What he would want: New paint brushes, novelty pasta shapes, fancy jackets, any art that you’ve made (regardless of quality,) cat stuffed animals, The Ability To Get A Grip, skincare products, shiny garbage (For art purposes, duh,) those handmade coupon things
Germany
Ludwig does not enjoy Christmas particularly. He's terrible at giving gifts but he wants to so desperately that he spends all of winter stressing out about it. Yes, he's excited to see your reaction to his gifts, but at what cost?!
Although he does still like all the decorations at least. Maybe he just likes re-decorating though.
What he would get you: Puzzles you can complete together, soft sweaters, practical stuff you need (like book bags, lens cloths, that kind of thing,) stationery, reservations for private tours at museums you would find interesting, a subscription to whatever silly service you want (:
What he would want: Books about city planning, nerdy card games, a fun lanyard, a new coffee machine, those aroma-therapy diffuser things, household tools like vacuums and stuff (Get him an air fryer. He’s going to be fascinated.) stress balls, pens (He is boring.)
Japan
Kiku really has no particular feelings towards Christmas. If you weren't there, the most he would do was put up a mini tree. He's stressed out by both giving and receiving presents and is only willing to do that kind of thing if you want to.
What he would get you: Electronics, merch of your favourite Sanrio character, books that he thinks you’ll like, stickers, a bento box, comfy sweatpants, cute hairpins, plushies from your favourite media, a bunch of pillows, some obscure Japanese snacks too!
What he would want: Miku figures, posters, video games, manga, general nerdy stuff, history novels (he likes to correct them,) blackout curtains, cute face masks, a Polaroid camera, a guide on socialization (Seriously.) a knit scarf, if you can knit (:
South Italy
Romano desperately wants to care about Jesus more than getting gifts. He's a devout catholic, g*ddamnit! But... he does just really love eating baked goods and getting gifts more than anything. Getting together with family, the music, the lights, he just ADORES the holiday.
What he would get you: Blankets and pillows, your favourite snacks, clothes that are a little more revealing- cruise tickets (if going on wouldn’t be hell for you,) a journal where he wrote down all of the things he loves about you (completely honestly,) religious items, fancy perfumes
What he would want: Paintings from local artists, post-its (so he can finally remember SOMETHING,) anything with the Italian flag on it, stupid bumper stickers, pictures of the other nations that you’ve written insults on, fancy patterned scarves and fabric
Prussia
Like Alfred, Gilbert loves Christmas in a very childish way. He embraces that side of himself during the holidays and he'd love it if you joined him in that. He constantly insists on going out to see the lights, and he just can't get enough of Christmas movies. Even the bad ones (He's a Hallmark girlie.)
What he would get you: A vintage music box, hair dye, DVDs of your favourite movies (just to have,) stationery, random snacks he picked up from a gas station an hour ago, weirdly sentimental jewellery? Vintage journals, pictures of himself
What he would want: Coupons (???) goofy temporary tattoos, metal CDs, tea (he’s weirdly embarrassed about liking tea and doesn’t buy it for himself?) vintage maps that he can frame and hang up, probably like, WD40? DC comics, novelty trophies, Pokemon cards, video games
Canada
More than anything, Matthew loves winter. So, therefore, he loves Christmas! Seeing you smile when you open your gifts, he looks forward to it all season. It seems like the only time of year when everyone else is either as miserable or as happy as he is, so it's his favourite holiday.
Cuddling up in front of the fireplace with hot cocoa, watching some old Christmas movie, its all he wants.
What he would get you: Comfy hoodies, comfy slippers too, hot cocoa packs, big stuff like a new PC or fridge or smth- decorations for your room, face masks, fidget toys, novelty Canadian keychains, figures of your favourite characters, festive sweets (like candy-canes and stuff.)
What he would want: Anything with a maple leaf (yes, he wants MORE of that,) boring stuff like socks, wood-working tools or like a new snow shovel, fairy lights, DVDs (because he still uses them? Why.) a new phone case, gift cards (HES BORING,) pre-packaged crafts, lotion and cologne that smells like pine
merry christmas if you celebrate! this'll probably be the last full thing I post until 2024, so thanks to all you readers for sticking around this year (: you have no idea how much it means to me. i love yall. and to all a good night or whatever santa said

During the '80s, mannequins set the beauty trends—and real women were expected to follow. The dummies were "coming to life," while the ladies were breathing anesthesia and going under the knife. The beauty industry promoted a "return to femininity" as if it were a revival of natural womanhood—a flowering of all those innate female qualities supposedly suppressed in the feminist '70s. Yet the "feminine" traits the industry celebrated most were grossly unnatural—and achieved with increasingly harsh, unhealthy, and punitive measures.
The beauty industry, of course, has never been an advocate of feminist aspirations. This is not to say that its promoters have a conscious political program against women's rights, just a commercial mandate to improve on the bottom line. And the formula the industry has counted on for many years—aggravating women's low self-esteem and high anxiety about a "feminine" appearance—has always served them well. (American women, according to surveys by the Kinsey Institute, have more negative feelings about their bodies than women in any other culture studied.) The beauty makers' motives aren't particularly thought out or deep. Their overwrought and incessant instructions to women are more mindless than programmatic; their frenetic noise generators create more static than substance. But even so, in the '80s the beauty industry belonged to the cultural loop that produced backlash feedback. Inevitably, publicists for the beauty companies would pick up on the warning signals circulating about the toll of women's equality, too—and amplify them for their own purposes.
"Is your face paying the price of success?" worried a 1988 Nivea skin cream ad, in which a business-suited woman with a briefcase rushes a child to day care and catches a glimpse of her career-pitted skin in a store window. If only she were less successful, her visage would be more radiant. "The impact of work stress . . . can play havoc with your complexion," Mademoiselle warned; it can cause "a bad case of dandruff," "an eventual loss of hair" and, worst of all, weight gain. Most at risk, the magazine claimed, are "high-achieving women," whose comely appearance can be ravaged by "executive stress." In ad after ad, the beauty industry hammered home its version of the backlash thesis: women's professional progress had downgraded their looks; equality had created worry lines and cellulite. This message was barely updated from a century earlier, when the late Victorian beauty press had warned women that their quest for higher education and employment was causing "a general lapse of attractiveness" and "spoiling complexions."
The beauty merchants incited fear about the cost of women's occupational success largely because they feared, rightly, that that success had cost them—in profits. Since the rise of the women's movement in the '70s, cosmetics and fragrance companies had suffered a decade of flat-to-declining sales, hair-product merchandisers had fallen into a prolonged slump, and hairdressers had watched helplessly as masses of female customers who were opting for simple low-cost cuts defected to discount unisex salons. In 1981, Revlon's earnings fell for the first time since 1968; by the following year, the company's profits had plunged a record 40 percent. The industry aimed to restore its own economic health by persuading women that they were the ailing patients—and professionalism their ailment. Beauty became medicalized as its lab-coated army of promoters, and real doctors, prescribed physician-endorsed potions, injections for the skin, chemical "treatments" for the hair, plastic surgery for virtually every inch of the torso. (One doctor even promised to reduce women's height by sawing their leg bones.) Physicians and hospital administrators, struggling with their own financial difficulties, joined the industry in this campaign. Dermatologists faced with a shrinking teen market switched from treating adolescent pimples to "curing" adult female wrinkles. Gynecologists and obstetricians frustrated with a sluggish birthrate and skyrocketing malpractice premiums traded their forceps for liposuction scrapers. Hospitals facing revenue shortfalls opened cosmetic-surgery divisions and sponsored extreme and costly liquid-protein diet programs.
The beauty industry may seem the most superficial of the cultural institutions participating in the backlash, but its impact on women was, in many respects, the most intimately destructive—to both female bodies and minds. Following the orders of the '80s beauty doctors made many women literally ill. Antiwrinkle treatments exposed them to carcinogens. Acid face peels burned their skin. Silicone injections left painful deformities. "Cosmetic" liposuction caused severe complications, infections, and even death. Internalized, the decade's beauty dictates played a role in exacerbating an epidemic of eating disorders. And the beauty industry helped to deepen the psychic isolation that so many women felt in the '80s, by reinforcing the representation of women's problems as purely personal ills, unrelated to social pressures and curable only to the degree that the individual woman succeeded in fitting the universal standard—by physically changing herself.

Character B nuzzling their neck and breathing in Character A’s scent/fragrance, and commenting on how nice they smell for the (rare)pair of your choice
When they started dating, Ray was blown away by how fiercely independent Rose was-he had never before met a woman with such a fire in her. She possessed a spirit that blew him away, and he loved how she didn't need anyone.
But she made it very clear how much she enjoyed his company, so he loved being there for her.
Case in point; now that she was bartending at night, they didn't get to spend as much time together; with her sleeping during the day to work the night shift and him needing to sleep at night for morning shoots-but staying up regardless, even just to walk Rose home.
"I don't need you to walk me," she had protested. "I've taken self defense classes and have mace in my purse."
"I know that, and if a mugger comes along I feel quite protected and safe with you," Ray joked. "I just want to spend the time with you."
"And maybe stay over?"
"I mean if I'm already at your place..."
She had laughed at that-that bright tinkling laugh that made her smile stretch across her face and her whole being light up. Ray adored that laugh, resolving to make her do it as often as possible. To spend his life making sure hers was full of laughter and happiness, because that is what she had infused his with.
Tonight was a night like any other-he would waltz in just before last call, sipping at drink-with Rose insisting he use her discount-until it was time to go.
"Ready?'
Ray smiled, pulling her into his arms, letting his face rest in the crook of her neck. "You smell nice."
Rose snorted at that. "I do not. I stink of sweat and beer."
She kind of did, but Ray didn't mind. Because underneath that he could smell the coconut oil she treated her curls with, the lingering whiff of her floral perfume, and the leather of her clothes.
"I like it."
"Weirdo." Rose pushed him away then, but there was no denying the tiny little smile on her face. Offering him her arm, and they started off back to her place.
"You don't smell like developer or overly hot lights, or dude, so it's heaven to me," Ray assured her.
"You really need an air freshener in your photo studio," Rose teased.
Ray shrugged, then twirled her, just to make her giggle once more. "Or I could keep smelling you."
"So weird," Rose said, cuddling in to him. "You smell pretty good too-but that might just be because you don't smell like booze and cigarettes."
"Well thanks."
They spent most of the rest of the walk catching up on their day, Rose's upcoming gigs, the shoots Ray had booked for the rest of the week, a show they both wanted to see-nothing earth shattering, but it was nice having this time together even as dawn crept closer and they were both flagging.
Finally they were at Rose's place, and Ray didn't even bother to hide the fact that he was coming up. Heck, most of his stuff was here already, it was just a matter of them both admitting they were living together at this point.
Rose raised her arms to stretch once inside, and immediateluy wrinkled her nose. "Okay, you may like it, but I stink. I need to shower before I go to bed, I can't stand the stench of myself."
"You want me to wait up?" Ray asked as he turned down the bed.
"Was kind of hoping you'd join me?" Rose asked, her expression impish even as her tone was all innocence.
"Don't have to ask me twice."
Later, clean and snuggled up together, Rose nuzzled her nose into the juncture of his neck. "You smell nice."
"I smell like you."
"Well you did say you like how I smell."
"That I do mi vida, that I do."
"But it's better now that I'm clean?"
"Oh that goes without saying."

I think my aesthetic might be something along the lines of cottagecore and light academia with a tinge of Studio Ghibli and bits and pieces of chaotic academia. So this includes:
classical music blaring out of cheap speakers, homemade food served in reused takeout containers, half dying houseplants in everything but traditional flower pots, the fragrance of jasmine and mint, mirrors reflecting sunlight on to disorganised bookshelves with the most random collection of books, soups in glassware, gel pen doodles all over my notes, herbal teas in whiskey glasses, locally sourced incense sticks, handmade woolen blankets over commercially sold quilts, baking granola bars on a lazy sunday afternoon, adding chocolate to literally everything, mid day naps when the weather is cloudy yet humid, ribbon ties instead of stapler pins, making my own spice powders, scented oil lamps, being obsessed with cloves, sleeping on a bed full of pillows only to find over half of them on the floor next morning, missing alarms because closing my eyes for two more seconds won't make me fall asleep again, picking flowers and herbs from the garden, sleepy afternoons, careful skincare but with the most day to day products, eucalyptus oil, use and throw inhalers to deal with my anxiety because the smell of menthol calms me down, short nails and neutral manicure, smelling like flowers one day and like the sea the other, getting excited whenever I spot the moon, absolutely in awe and in love with the clouds because they're amazing and so creative, puppies, calligraphy using ball pens, homemade mocha latte using soya milk, my grandma's childhood earrings that I wear all the time, newspapers, organic vegetables sold by retired social workers, tote bags, reusable metal water bottles, hot showers and cold rinses, using my grandmother's favorite brand of soap because I love smelling like her, herbal hair oil, smelling like sandalwood, cooking pasta with the family, reading secondhand books, collecting fused light bulbs, pencil underlines, postcards, 1 am poetry, pop instrumentals and pensive journaling, benzene rings on page margins, berry flavoured cough syrup, baking bread, long walks, loud conversations, thrifting, e-books, chocolate wrappers hidden between dictionary pages, colourful periodic table prints, plushies, honey, fleece blankets, sleeping cats, signet ring, dried rose I'd bought for myself and carried around like a trophy travelling back home with it in the public bus, twinning perfumes coincidentally with my best friend, vintage looking brand new ink pen and expired ink, sticky notes with motivational quotes covering my wall, never buying perfumes and only using the ones I'm gifted, random words that remind me of niche incidents or memories written along the corners of my study material, pearl jewelry set that my dad gifted my mom but it's me who wears it now, combat boots bought at ¼th it's price at a discount clearance sale, all my jackets being bought from different countries by my dad and thus each serving as a token of memory, lipstick shades that match only extremely specific vibes and look off and odd at other times, cherry lip balm stick that I've used only twice, daily calendar sheets reused as a notepad, birthday candles from my 16th birthday sitting on my work table, the lingering smell of multiple beverages in my room because I seldom wash the cups I drank them from and now they're cluttered all over the room, hand me down luxury watches older than me, chipped nailpolish, reminders written down on tissue papers, bus tickets all over my bag, sugar-free chewing gum, deodorant that never washes off my clothes, wearing clothes purchased 5 years ago and getting compliments simply because it's not trendy but is unique, mini origami cranes, rose sprays, lychee scented sanitizer, baking bread at home on weekends, homemade hair masks, turning up late because i was busy enjoying life walking through the eucalyptus grove on the way to class, running to the station yet missing the train, all my everyday ornaments having a deeper meaning to me.

so like i have a new obsession. it's an otome/rpg/gacha mobile game
it's called love and deepspace
and it's so great like i am very intrigued by the storyline and it also helps that the three love interests are so attractive hehe
i wouldn't say i have an absolute favorite as of yet but in terms of physical appearance only, it would be zayne but again, i don't have a fave
and i'm so lucky??? i've never been lucky before like ever??
like in hsr, i tried pulling for blade and i lost the 50/50 to himeko. i spent everything too :(
and don't even get me started on genshin impact
maybe i have better luck in otome/gacha games cuz my luck in tears of themis isn't as bad lol
but still, it's great that my luck has finally came in like:
the rafayel: your fragrance came home in my first 10 pull on the standard banner like??? and then the blossoms card also came home in my first 10 pull in the event banner??
i know xavier is the one actually featured in the event banner but shhh
i made my sister jealous because it took her 4 accounts to get the your fragrance card to come home and rafayel came home to me so willingly and twice???
i told her it was because rafayel liked me better than her and she hit me lol
(i have a feeling if i chose rafayel instead of zayne on that one banner with the discount, he would've come home in my first 10 pull too cuz i had to actually hit hard pity for zayne)
i think it's because i said that he seemed like a dick the first time mc met him cuz like he left without hearing what she had to say. rafayel definitely didn't like that so he's been resorting to slowly condition me to like him by being around more lol
it's working but don't let my sister know so again, hushhh she's been trying to gatekeep him from me lmao
i'm not expecting the same luck in the future lol but this has been so nice like i finally know the feeling of having great luck

Chapter 4: Oath of Roses
Narrated by Loen.
Narrator: That’s how the princes’ lives are saved.
Narrator: Seeing the traces of blood on his little brother’s hand, the older prince frowns and helps to dress the wound.
Narrator: And then the little prince cries out in excitement. The golden rose he so desperately sought is just within reach!
Narrator: The cluster of vines part to reveal a golden rose, casting a warm, soft glow with its petals outstretched.
Narrator: The blooming flower showers the area with a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Narrator: The little prince gently plucks the flower and places it in his brother’s hands, eyes full of pride.
Little Prince: The book said that the golden rose blooms forever. And our kingdom will bloom forever, too, under your rule, brother!
Narrator: The older prince smiles and pins the rose on his chest, then closes his eyes.
Older Prince: Protecting those who are important to me is just as important as protecting my kingdom.
Narrator: The prince’s promise is spoken solemnly and steadily. Something familiar stirs in my heart as I say my line.
Narrator: The few seconds of pause seem to last forever on the stage. Eyes closed, I felt as if I could smell gunfire once again...
Narrator: Turbulent emotions threaten to break free, but I force myself out of my memories and back to reality.
Narrator: Suddenly, I find myself missing the bitter taste of lemon gardenia fizz and the sweetness of wine.
Narrator: At least the play is almost over. I can go grab a drink after the performance is done.
Narrator: Our performance gets a standing ovation. I hear the audience discussing the play even as they leave.
Narrator: I head offstage and find Jaxon amidst the crowd.
Loen: So? How did you like my performance?
Jaxon: Eh, it wasn’t too bad. I’ll invite my brother over to watch you perform once he’s fully recovered.
Narrator: Jaxon nods appreciatively. Judging from the smile, he must have really enjoyed my acting.
Loen: You must have saved up your allowances for a long time to afford my commission fee, huh?
Jaxon: It’s fine, I can always save up more later. My brother’s dream of being an actor is more important than money!
Loen: By the way, there’s something I forgot to mention. This is my 100th commission of the year, so...
Narrator: Jaxon looks up, confused.
Loen: So I’m gonna offer you a special discount... a free discount! That’s right, completely free, on the house.
Loen: I sent your money and a ticket for tonight to the hospital. Remember? Your brother was discharged today.
Narrator: Jaxon stares at me, his eyes wide in disbelief.
Loen: Besides, I need to thank you for the advice you gave me on my costume design anyways. You’re quite the designer, you know.
Loen: The costume was well-received, and I couldn’t have done it without your creative ideas.
Loen: If my eyes don’t deceive me, I think there’s a young man backstage who looks a lot like you. You should go see him.
Narrator: Compared to dramatic happy endings, I prefer the warmth and comfort of reality even more.
Choose either “Is this really your 100th commission of the year?” or “So you found Jaxon’s brother.”
If “commission,” ...
You: Was this really your 100th commission of the year?
Narrator: Maybe. It’s been a lucrative year.
If “brother,” ...
You: So you secretly went and found out who Jaxon’s brother was.
Narrator: Just wanted to know what he was like, is all.
--
Choose “What about your interview?”
You: Wait, aren’t they interviewing the main actors over there?
Narrator: I’ll pass. Can’t let them know I’m a mercenary.
Narrator: And I’d much rather go home and read the play’s reviews on Moments with a glass of wine.
Narrator: I’m pretty confident in my own acting skills after all.
