Can ChatGPT help plan trips? Yes, if you use these prompts
When you use a guidebook, you’re limited by its contents. The advantage of using ChatGPT is that it can take you down any track you want. It’s even possible to uncover hidden gems – if you ask the right questions. Like finding pasta cooked by a “nonna” in an Italian restaurant frequented by locals, or getting a brunch recommendation to eat at E Pellicci in London — a fabulous spot that might be…

Skiing - a beginner’s guide
I first went skiing in Switzerland with my friends nearly 10 years ago and I loved it. The feeling of the wind on my face, the speed, the adrenaline- it was exhilarating.
I’ve compiled a basic list of ski events, a semi-scandalous article and some of the best destinations in the world as well as some budget friendly ones.
Socialite ski events:
Snowboxx:
Since it launched in 2013, winter festival Snowboxx has been growing in popularity - and it involves flying out to the Alps for a week-long ski party.  It takes place in Avoriaz ski resort, Morzine, France each March, and this year saw a superstar lineup of artists performing in the mountains, including ex-Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac, Becky Hill, Jax Jones, Sonny Fodera and Andy C.
The combination of partying to some of the world's best DJs, with the unusual day-activites of skiing and snowboarding, are making many turn away from the summer festival circuit in favour of the winter one.
Hahnenkamm, Kitzbühel , Austria:
The Hahenekamm ski race weekend in Kitzbühel is arguably the biggest alpine ski event in the world. The world’s best take on the iconic Streif downhill track, which is historically the toughest ski race track on the World Cup circuit. A lot of the speed skiers consider winning races here as a bigger honour than the Olympics. As a spectator, the atmosphere is electric with fans around the world admiring some breathtaking ski racing.
X Games, Aspen, USA:
The world’s best freestyle skiers and snowboarders compete annually in Aspen. The event is a prestigious honour to win amongst action sports athletes and has propelled careers. Spectating the event is excellent because you can see most of the action from the viewing areas. The halfpipe events in particular are excellent to watch for this reason.
European Snow Pride, Tignes, France:
Tignes is home to Europe’s biggest gay ski week, with the European Snow Pride. Each day has a theme with nights of brit-pop to superhero days. Many international DJs are invited to play each evening party in the resort’s local clubs and bars.
Slightly scandalous tales: Things I Never Knew About Skiing Until I Was a Private Instructor in Aspen
Really interesting read. I was thoroughly entertained.
Popular ski destinations:
1. Whistler Blackcomb, Canada
Whistler makes it onto pretty much every ‘World Top 10’ list when it comes to ski resorts
2. Niseko, Japan
Located on the northern island of Hokkaido, this Japanese skiing destination is a snow-covered paradise. With a huge 15 metres of average snowfall, it’s no wonder that Niseko is the country’s premier ski resort.
3. Zermatt, Switzerland
As the highest resort in the Alps, it’s got the views. The incredible peak of the Matterhorn can be seen from just about anywhere on the slopes! It also boasts the greatest vertical drop in Switzerland, and there’s all year round skiing at the Matterhorn Glacier.
4. Courchevel, France
The resort is a part of the world’s largest alpine ski area, offering more than 600 kilometres of terrain and interconnected ski runs across 10 summits. The snow here is well-groomed, and there’s a legendary black run that’s considered to be one of the trickiest in the world.
5. Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy
Known only to the most dedicated, well-travelled skiers prior to the 1956 Winter Olympics, Cortina is a hidden gem in Italy’s Dolomite Mountains.
6. Baqueira-Beret, Spain
It may be a surprising destination for skiing, but Baqueira-Beret in Spain is one of the best places in Europe where you’ll find value for money for a ski holiday. You’ll be able to find affordable accommodation as well as some of the finest tapas restaurants in the country.
7. Ylläs, Finland
The arctic landscapes of Lapland are perfect for skiing. If you dream of snow-dusted trees, the magic of the Northern Lights, or the glow of the midnight sun, Ylläs is a unique winter resort that you won’t want to miss. As Finland’s largest ski resort, it’s got everything you need.
Budget friendly destinations
1. Vogel, Slovenia
An ideal spot for couples or families, this Slovenian spot is a truly beautiful and peaceful ski area. Overlooking Lake Bohinj, Vogel is part of the Triglav national park.
2. Livigno, Italy
Duty-free zone Livigno offers excellent slopes for intermediate skiers. But advanced skiers and snowboarders will be kept busy too – especially if they’re keen to explore off piste.
3. Poiana-Brasov, Romania
Poiana Brasov is Romania’s biggest mountain resort and certainly one of the nicest. The fairytale slopes, flanked by pine trees, are the perfect place to take your skis. With more than 24km of ski runs, there’s plenty to explore.
4. South Korea -Muju Deogyusan Resort
Muju Deogyusan Resort in Jeolla province is only 3 hours away from Seoul. So, if you want to spend your holiday skiing and still enjoy the city of Seoul, this is the place to go.
5. Niseko Ski Resort
Located in Hokkaido, Japan, Niseko Ski Resort boasts a total of four different resorts but with linked ski area. A single pass would give you access to all four resorts. One of the resorts, Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu has been officially named as Japan’s number one snow resort due to the wide array of activities offered.
6. India - Gulmarg
Gulmarg is a rare gem in the Himalayans that will undoubtedly take your breath away with its picturesque beauty. However, skiing in Gulmarg, Kashmir is not for the weak-hearted as the terrains are not suitable for beginners - to add to that, the ski lifts carry you to the highest point in the Himalaya at 13, 780 feet!
7. China - Nanshan Ski Resort
80km away from Beijing, Nanshan Ski Resort is perfect for skiing and snowboarding as the snow are neither too hard nor too soft.

According to Plan / Part One
Finally got around to acting on this idea. Something to work on between chapters of For the Record. Think it'll be good practice.
Part one of Gaz getting leave to go on a rare holiday with his moms. He's put in the work to make the vacation absolutely perfect, but then he meets an American girl, and things just keep. Going. Wrong.
No smut. Yet.
My Italian is incredibly rusty. I am so sorry lol
The title may change I couldn't think of one :/
Mama's boy.
A phrase thrown at Gaz so often since he could remember it barely fazed him. He had a perfectly healthy relationship with his mums, thanks. He'd seen enough in his tenure in the SAS and the 141 that he knew he was lucky to have a family that liked one another, let alone a family at all. So when the opportunity for a two-week leave popped up on the horizon, he set his sights and strategized.
It took months and a level of coordination that surely rivaled Laswell, but he pulled off Operation Sorpresa. A tremendous success, he thought, to not only secure all the details but to ensure the dates aligned with the work schedules of both of his mothers.
He'd logged in for their usual video chat (weekly, when possible), and let them believe he was coming home the following month. The looks on their faces when he casually mentioned that he wasn't coming to visit them. They were going to meet him in Italy, in a little town called Florence.
All the planning proved worth it with their outrageous reactions.
With an art history professor and a fabrication instructor for mums, it was the perfect destination. And with his planning, it would be the perfect trip. He booked the best hotels and restaurants he could afford. Reserved tickets to museums and half a dozen tours, in and outside of the city. Just him and his two favorite people, exploring the cradle of the Renaissance.
'Course, the day he arrived, nearly knocked out by jet lag, there'd been an issue with the hotel reservation. Overbooked, dispiace, the receptionist explained, But we can accommodate you at our boutique hotel across the Arno. It wasn't the city center like he wanted, but he rolled with the change, hauling all three of their bags across the Ponte Sante Trinita without too much complaint.
"Kyle, would it be too much trouble for you to run out and find ibuprofen? I'm not acclimated to all the walking just yet," His mother, Helen, asked. She was crammed into the elevator with his other mum, Rebecca, and their bags.
He'd need one, too, given the combined weight of their bags. "Can do. I'll just put my things in my room and pop out."
Whatever they wanted, he'd see it done. It was the least he could do, given the fact they were his mothers. Practically saints, what with their endless font of patience for both raising him and never asking too much about work.
After butchering a conversation with two different shopkeepers, he returned to the hotel, tucked between what appeared to be a real estate office and a bistro. Eager to get his mothers moving to their dinner plans, he opened the ancient wooden door and–
What's this?
The tired hotel clerk and a young woman were absorbed in a frankly concerningly energetic conversation (argument?) at the tiny reception desk. He couldn't see her face, only that she looked…fancy. Overdressed, at least to him. She gripped the strap of a leather bag slung over her shoulder, knuckles nearly white. He couldn't understand a lick of what they were saying. Definitely nothing about apples or his non-existent niece's shoes. Thank you, worthless language app.
Her hand slapped down on the desk, and she shouted something that made the clerk's half-lidded eyes pop open. Was that…English? Italglish?
Gaz couldn't help himself.
"Hey, you," He said, crossing the small 'lobby' with the shop bag still in hand. "I don't know what's going on, but I'm pretty sure you can't just–"
The woman turned, face pinching into a confused expression as she saw him approach. "Excuse me?" She asked, this time in perfect English. Immediately, Gaz clocked her as American.
"You're yelling at the clerk. Anyone ever teach you that's rude?" He arched a brow, eyes raking over her face. She couldn't be a year or two younger or older than him.
The woman's eyebrows rose. She registered what he was saying, then glanced back at the clerk, who met her eye with a similarly confused look. Slowly, their expressions changed, and the pair broke into laughter.
"Pensa che stiamo litigando?" The clerk asked.
"Credo di si. Un momento."
One moment. Gaz got that. He stood, eyes darting between them expectantly. The tips of his ears heated in slight embarrassment from their laughter.
The woman turned back, head tilted. "We're not arguing," It was her turn to study him. "Is this your first time in Italy? Because this," She gestured between herself and the uniformed man. "Is a normal conversation."
Gaz frowned slightly, not exactly believing her, but now felt a little silly. "It didn't sound like that."
She grinned, a bit too smug for his tastes. "I was telling him a story about a group of English tourists making asses of themselves. Is that normal? If we're making assumptions and all."
It annoyed him how quick she was with the comment, but worse was how his lip curled in a smile before he could stop it. "I get it. Apologies."
"No harm done. Can't complain about a man who'd step in to defend a stranger like that," She said and glanced down at the shopping bag. "If you need more medicine, turn left outside the hotel and head down two blocks to Farmacia San Felice. Better prices." With that, she returned to the clerk to continue their lively conversation.
Gaz's grip tightened defensively, thinking he did a pretty decent job with his errand, then turned away to go upstairs to deliver the medicine to his mother.
The young woman and clerk watched him go. She couldn't help but admire how fit the man was, even if his Union Jack ballcap was ridiculous.
"Che muscoli," The clerk murmured.
"Infatti," She agreed, eyes lingering until he disappeared from view.
Translations:
Pensa che stiamo litigando? // Does he think we're arguing? Credo di si. Un momento. // I think so. One moment. Che muscoli. // What muscles. Infatti. // Indeed.

Traintober day 17: Holiday
Percy: hello Thomas! I see your back from your mandatory world trip that Mattel sponsored and enforced
Thomas: yes, yes I am…
Percy: so how was it? Did you get to see the Himalayan Queen in India which holds the world record for steepest rise in altitude? Meet the world’s first commercial high speed maglev train, the Shanghai maglev train? See the Bernina Express in Italy? The highest train in Europe? Meet 3801? Australia’s most famous steam engine? Oh! What about see a re-enactment of the golden spike ceremony and meet the replicas of Jupiter and Union Pacific no. 119 at promontory summit Utah?
Thomas: no, I didn’t get to do anything railroad related at all, instead Mattel had me teach kids about tai chi, kangaroos, tiger poachers, and had me loose my voice while trying to sing opera.
Thomas: which is a shame because our franchise is how a lot of kids get into the train fandom and where they learn about railroad operations and famous British railways such as the great Western Railway, along with being introduced to famous steam engines like the flying Scotsman and the city of truro. Not to mention most of our fandom is made up of autistic kids and it’s no secret that a lot of them have a fascination with trains so we would also be feeding more into their interests by giving them something cool to learn about such as how the San Francisco cable cars work, rather than dumbing things down by teaching them things that they would most likely already know, and we would also appeal to older fans of our show too by expanding our world while staying true to the source material.
Thomas: that, and I was looking forward to doing a run down the SGR in Kenya which has 14 wildlife channels to accommodate migrating wildlife… I don’t even remember what I did in Kenya… but I would have loved to hear about the struggles the workers faced when building the first railroad line through Kenya…
Thomas: oh well, at least I got my wish to see the world…. I guess…

Good afternoon TUMBLR - April 21th - 2024
''Mr. Plant has owed me a shoe since July 5, 1971."
Mohammedia, Morocco – 2002
It was beginning of June and I got a call from Rome: the kind Mrs. Sette - HR Representative of TECHNIP Italy - asks me if I am interested to on mission to Mohammedia, Morocco. Of course I am! Was my answer. A week later, I am summoned inside the mega headquarters of Technip Italia, in Rome, to carry out the medical examinations and sign the employment contract. At the time I had just bought a new car, an Alfa Romeo 147, so we organized a trip to Rome with my family. It was a pleasant trip and stay, and we had the opportunity to visit Sperlonga and Gaeta.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sperlonga.
Tumblr media
Gaeta.
I left for Casablanca at beginning of July, returning to work in Morocco after 11 years. I arrived at Mohammed V airport and with the ''excuse'' that Technip was aware of my past in Morocco, no one was there to welcome me. A Grand taxi took me to the Hotel Sabah as was previsiosly agreed - I would stay there for a few days, until I'll find a suitable accommodation. In the late afternoon I was joined by the Mission's Head, Mr. De Sanctis, a Roman guy, an elderly person with some walking problems. At dinner he explained to me that the team would be made up of a total of 4 people: a civil supervisor, a mechanic, and an electro-instrumental supervisor
THE PROJECT. The SAMIR refinery in Mohammedia, about 20 km north of Casablanca, was built by Italian Snamprogetti/SAIPEM in the '70s. The property had more recently been acquired by a Joint Venture between a Swedish Investment Fund and a wealthy Saudi investor. The new ownership had decided to modernize the complex, building new production plants next to the existing refinery. For this purpose, TECHNIP was contacted to follow up the partial demolition of the existing plants and part of the Tank Farm, and prepare the areas where the new plants would be built. Our mission was to supervise the demolitions of the tanks, and the preparation of the areas with selected materials capable of withstanding the considerable loads of the new installations. SAMIR had not yet appointed the Main Contractor of the new plants - a contract worth 316 million dollars - TECHNIP Italia had agreed to follow the preparatory works to try to ''get a foot in'' the refinery and undermine others competitors.
MISSION TASK FORCE. In addition to the aforementioned Mr. De Santis, the following people were part of the mission: Mr. Rinaldo Cozzi: originally from Cerro Maggiore (North of Italy). He was our electro-instrumental expert. A decent person, even if a little closed off. He only went out with us during the visits of the Technip manager Ing. Petrillo. I will meet Cozzi again in Shah – Abu Dhabi, where he had a position with SAIPEM pipeline. Mr. Mario Maggi, from Piacenza - a jovial and open guy, he was coming from a previous experience in Senegal. Expert in turbines, compressors etc, in truth he didn't have much to do since we were only talking about demolitions.
LIFE IN MOHAMMEDIA. Mohammedia is the seaside city of Casablanca. Equipped with somewhat old hotels, it is made up of residential areas of holiday villas built in the early 1980s. The city has therefore become a destination for medium-low level tourism, also following the construction of the refinery and the Power Plant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
LOGISTIC. After an initial period in which I slept in hotel, I found a decent oceanfront apartment through a real estate agency. Inserted in a beautiful park, the apartment was on the first floor of a holiday condominium. The local owner was living abroad, and had entrusted the agency with the task of managing the rent from the apartment. I really enjoyed it, and I stayed in the same apartment for the entire ten months of my stay in Mohammedia.
Tumblr media
Mr. De Sanctis lived in a villa on the Plage Manesmane.
Tumblr media
Mr. Cozzi in another house near De Sactis, while Maggi had chosen to stay secluded in a villa further inside the city.
SUB-CONTRACTOR The Contractor that would carry out the work was chosen directly by the Technical Management of the refinery. Mr. Berrada, the Site Manager was a competent and approachable young engineer. The history of this Company is intertwined in a curious and surprising way with the attack that King Hassan II suffered on 16 August 1972, when the Royal Boeing 727, returning from an official trip to France, was attacked by military jets of the Force Armee Royale. According to the reconstruction of the event, the plane was hit on one of the engines, but the pilot managed to make escape the jet unscathed, and thus saving the life of the Sovereign. That pilot's brother was the owner of a small building Contractor from Casablanca. The pilot's exploits made the fortune of his brother, who in a short time became one of the largest entrepreneurs in the construction sector in Morocco, going so far as to build the so-called ''Twin Towers'' of Casablanca, which with their height of 128 meters are have long been the tallest skyscrapers in Morocco.
Tumblr media
WORK PROGRESS. The rafinery plot was overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The progress of the works was quite regular, the demolition of old tanks continued apace and so did the creation of new areas for the new plants. To the South of the plant, divided only by a reception wall, stood the coal power plant built in the 1980s by the Italian Cimi Montubi Group.
FLOOD DISASTER - NOVEMBER 2002. Everything went well until the beginning of November. Yes, it's true, sometimes we had some problems getting the refinery operators out of their offices before proceeding with their demolition. But it had been raining cats and dogs for three days, even though they told me it was the season. On a Saturday morning the SAMIR management received a call from a dam Director, located approximately 45 km away from the plant. The Director warned that since the water inside the artificial reservoir of Barrage Oued El Maleh had now reached the overflow point, it had been decided to open the gates of the dam, and let part of the water flow into the Oued El Maleh , whose course, after reaching the refinery, flowed into the Atlantic between the refinery itself and the Royal Golf Club. The Dam Director estimated that the flood wave would reach the refinery towards the late afternoon of the same day. As a precaution, operations at the plant should have been stopped. A consultation with Saudi ownership categorically ruled out shut down onthe entire complex. The costs of shut down, lost production, and start-up were the reasons given for refusing to stop operations. Never was a decision more wrong.
At 3.00 PM order had been given to leave the plant. The water from the Ouadi El Maleh had already overcome the barrier set up at the entrance to the plant, and was spreading throughout the area. The area of our offices, lower than the rest of the refinery, was already heavily flooded. We returned to Mohammedia with in mind the worried faces of the operators who were preparing to spend the night in the plant. It was around 9.45 in the evening when the first explosions were heard. I went out onto the apartment balcony and looked towards the South: I could see some flashes that lit up the dark night. Firefighter and Red Crescent sirens. And then an explosion louder than all the others: we then learned that a diesel tank had been blown up. We would find the roof of the tank thrown like a giant frisbee 150 meters away. The fire had attacked the power station, and triggered the explosion when the water reached the high voltage bars. Most of the utilities were destroyed that night. Thanks to the work of firefighters who also came from Casablanca, and of the refinery operators, the fire was contained and did not reach the fuel depot area where there were dozens of tanks full of oil and diesel: it would have been a Biblical disaster.
Two operators lost their lives in the accident, and numerous were injured. When the refinery was made safe, the highest authorities in Morocco came to visit, first and foremost King Mohammed VI. The refinery management asked us to participate in the damage assessment, alongside a specially established insurance team. At the end of the survey, which lasted weeks, the damages were estimated at 157 million dollars. During the cleaning operations from the mud that had invaded the entire area of the plant, many teams of volunteers showed up after King Mohamed VI's appeal on TV. What remained was the regret of a disaster caused once again by a decision dictated by mere selfishness. The questions I asked myself at the time was: ''In his country, would the Saudi owner of the refinery have made the same decision, that is, not to stop the plant?''
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
END OF MISSION. At the end of April, the enormous cleaning operation of the refinery had been completed, even if production had not been able to resume due to the enormous damage caused by the flood and the subsequent fire. Our work to prepare the areas was coming to an end, and the most disparate rumors were circulating about the name of the Main Contractor who would win the contract for the new installation. The sentiment was that they would not be awarded to TECHNIP Italia, regardless of our performance during the Early Works.
Italian Giant SAIPEM was awarded the project.

Hi Gina! I saw some people talking about the AFHF in Italy and the insistent promo caused by not selling as well as the past years, which, I obviously don't know the numbers but knowing the context I think it's quite clear, plus I'm also sad I won't be able to attend lol
Here are some facts:
It's "Ferragosto" in Italy, a big big national holiday that happens on August 15th, therefore many italian fans will either be on vacation or about to leave (aka me lol), or will already have spent €€ for the 15th itself ...
That place in August is so expensive, the most expensive it will be during the whole year (prices in Italy in August are no joke, it's high season 🫠)
Therefore transportation is also more expensive, especially plane tickets
Getting there is not as easy as getting to idk Milan, Rome, Bologna... or even some other cities on the coast
As I said before it's vacation time, and people book way in andvace, for example when I was a child my family used to book around March or even sooner, so announcing it so late means that it's harder for people to find accommodation
All this to say...who thought about it?! Even a week later it would have been way better and it just breaks my heart that so many people, especially italians (since it's a one time event) will not be able to attend because of bad planning on the team's end...as usual
I don’t know that there’s more promo for this year than for the last two, but that’s really unfortunate. And seems like incredibly poor planning on someone’s part. I hope it ends up not making any difference in how much fun people have.

Not sure what you’re after exactly, but here goes.
Do you have any pets? What’s your job? Where would be your dream holiday destination? What is your biggest regret in life? What gets you out of bed in the morning? Are you happy with where you are in life? What are you most passionate about? Who has been the most influential person in your life?
Feel free to answer all, none, or only a few. 💕
It’s fine I wasn’t after much just don’t worry I think it was just a sudden desire interaction I suppose!
Do you have any pets?
Not technically but I do help look after my parents Labrador! And by help I mean cuddle him and give him love and affection
What’s your job?
I currently have a part time waitressing job but am trying to look for other work opportunities
Where would be your dream holiday destination?
Either Italy or France. I’ve been to Italy and I loved it so much looking around the food, but Greece is a place I would love to visit and see the sights for, even though I probably wouldn’t eat any food there
What is your biggest regret in life?
Don’t stay with the guy who manipulated you and made you feel just plain dirty and shit!
What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My alarm and responsibilities that I know I need to fulfil
Are you happy with where you are in life?

What are you most passionate about?
My hyperfixations which currently are HOTD and most likely gonna be MHA cause season 7 is out and I’m so excited to discus it with my friends. Also my writing! My friends pretty much all know I write fanfics so I discuss it quite freely with them
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
In a negative way probably my mother cause she’s affected my life quite drastically in ways where if she hadn’t I know I’d be in such a different place then where I’m at now.
Though more positively my nan who would talk to me about the more serious topics that I needed to have with someone. She also was someone who I felt most comfortable with talking about my issues as she always managed to accommodate them whenever wherever.

Plot: This imagine is about you and your boyfriend Harry celebrating Valentine’s Day together. He takes you to Rome in Italy, for your dream vacation. You are currently 5 months pregnant and expecting a little girl. During this trip he plans little things that will lead up to him asking you an important question that will define your future.
Valentines Day. A day where many show more appreciation and love towards one another. A day filled with hearts, flowers, and chocolates. As you got older, you started to not like the holiday, majority because of your lack of a relationship at the time. That all changed when your boyfriend Harry came into your life. He always made every holiday special, especially Valentine’s Day.
Early on in your relationship you had mentioned your lack of interest and once you explained your reasoning behind it, he made sure that every Valentine’s Day you guys spent together was special. He always payed attention to detail, even if it was the smallest ones.
This year, the holiday was extra special because you were 5 months pregnant with your first child, a baby girl on the way. So, when Harry surprised you last week with tickets for a flight to Italy, you had to make sure that you were safe to travel.
The past few days, you were running back and forth trying to pack everything that you would need for your trip. You didn’t know how long you were staying, Harry only explaining to pack light, that if you needed anything that he would buy it over there. He mainly did that so you wouldn’t overwhelm yourself too much with packing due to your pregnancy.
You had arrived in Italy last night, staying at a hotel in Rome. This was one of the small details that he would remember. You never truly spoke about your dream travels as often, but you remembered mentioning it when you had your first few dates a couple years back. He knew you were fascinated by the beauty of the city and the architecture. So, this year, he planned the trip to lift your spirits up.
Harry had thought of absolutely everything. The accommodations, making sure there was a pregnancy pillow on the bed, making sure you had the best view and the best care, so he mentioned. You had arrived in Rome late at night, and to be quite honest, you were exhausted from sitting on the plain. You felt uncomfortable the whole time, even with first class tickets. But you kept your comments to yourself, not trying to bring him down. As soon as you and Harry arrived at the hotel, you both got ready for bed since you had a busy day tomorrow according to your boyfriend.
The next day, Valentine’s Day, you were awoken with the smell of French toast and coffee. The smell of coffee here was different, it smelled richer. As per your doctor, you were only allowed one cup a day. You sat up on the bed and stretched your limbs, feeling good right afterwards. “Good morning darling. Sleep well?”, Harry says, walking towards you and kissing your lips. “Mmm. Yes. I was exhausted. It smells so good”, you mumbled, getting up and going straight to the bathroom to brush your teeth.
Looking at yourself in the mirror, you couldn’t help but rub your belly, feeling small kicks from your baby girl. “Good morning my love”, you whispered to your belly, feeling her kick one more time before you walked back into the main room. “Coffee?”, Harry asks, nodding your response as you sat on the small sofa that looked out to the city.
It was a beautiful sight, the air smelling clean compared to back home. You could hear the chatter of the locals along with tourists. The sun hast fully risen yet but the streets sounded alive. “Here you go darling”, he says handing you the cup of coffee. Taking a sip, your insides immediately warmed up, feeling relaxed as you leaned your head against Harry’s shoulder. “Ready for today?”, he asked, kissing the top of your head as he takes a bite of fette biscottate (Rusks), which was an Italian breakfast item.
“What do you have planned Mr. Styles”, you ask teasingly, grabbing his hand that held the small breakfast item, pulling it to your mouth so you could take a small bite. “Mmm that’s delicious”, you moan in pleasure. This caused him to chuckle, getting up to grab a couple more for the both of you. “I think we could go out for a walk around the city if you’re up for it. Then we can have dinner, and then I can give you your surprise”, he says walking back to the couch to hand you the plate that held your breakfast.
“Of course, I’m up for it. What should I wear?”, you ask him, taking a bite of the delicious pastry. “Anything you’re comfortable in my love. Maybe a dress?”, he suggests. “Oooh, I think I packed the dress you got me a couple weeks ago”, you say. “That’s perfect”, he says finishing his breakfast. “Done?”, he asks. “Yeah. Thank you”, you say handing him the empty dishes as he places them back on the cart.
“Bath or shower?”, he asks you. “Mmmm shower? That way we can go explore quicker”, you giggle, smiling widely at you. “Let’s go shower then”, he takes your hand and drags you to the bathroom. He helps you undress, because he wanted to not because you struggled, crouching down to kiss your belly. “Good morning princess”, he whispers to her, earning a small kick. “Ouch”, you say at the slight pain it caused you. “Sorry”, he says kissing you. “Come on”, you say walking into the shower.
Once you were showered and dressed, you pack a pair of sneakers in Harry’s bag, just in case your sandals made you uncomfortable from all of the walking you would do today. Hand in hand, you and Harry walked through the streets of Rome. Little did you know that Harry had planned a small tour of the city with tour guides to make things simpler. The first stop was at the Colosseum. The tour took you through the underground passages and you were able to step foot on the arena floor!
Then, the tour continued to the Trevi Fountain. There were a lot of people there but that didn’t stop you from trying to get to the front. “Babe be careful”, he chuckled, following right behind you as you dragged him through the groups of people trying to get pictures of the sight. Once at the front, Harry took multiple people of you holding your baby bump and then you took pictures together, the lovely tour guide taking pictures of you two as well. The rest of the tour was amazing, enjoying the different scenic routes the tour guide went through.
By the time the tour finished you were hungry and exhausted. “That was fun, wasn’t it?”, Harry says, putting his arm around your shoulder as both of you walked around some more looking for a place to have dinner. “It was. I had fun, although I’m starving now”, you say, rubbing your belly. “I know honey, but I have one surprise for you, and I promise you that we’ll eat right afterwards”, he says. “Alright Harry”, you giggle as he hails a cab. You arrived at your destination in minutes, looking out and taking in the sight before your eyes.
“Come, I want to show you something”, he says, taking your hand and walking into the castle. Yes. Castle Sant’Angelo. He took you up the stairs, with the help of the guide, and stopped at the terrace. There the view of the city was beautiful. You saw the calming river in front of you, the city slowing down in traffic due to the it becoming evening now. The sun was now beginning to set. “Oh my”, was the only thing you could say right at the moment.
“I rented out the place for this evening, wanted this to be special and intimate”, he says going to the chair and pulling it out so you can sit. The place was adorned with roses and heart shaped balloons. There were rose petals on the floor leading up to the table. “It looks beautiful”, you say looking at him who was sitting in front of you. “You’re beautiful”, he says, taking your hand in his, kissing it. You couldn’t help but blush at the small gesture.
The dinner was the most beautiful dinner you’ve had. There was a small band that played beautiful Italian music as you ate, the lights outside adorning the river. You were too busy looking outside that you didn’t notice Harry get up from his chair. “What’re you up to Harry”, you say looking at how he was lacing back and forth nervously. Then he suddenly stopped in front of you, kneeling down and touching your belly. “You two are my everything, you know that right?”, he quietly says. “Yeah?”, you cheekily say, squeezing his cheek making him chuckle. “Yeah baby. You are the love of my life. You’re the fresh breath of air that I need everyday. You’re my rock, my lover, my partner. I love you so much. You’ve made me the happiest man alive”, he says to you, tears brimming your eyes at the words that he was speaking to you.
“Harry baby, what’s wrong?”, you ask him, running your fingers through his hair and noticing how nervous he was getting. Taking a deep breath, he takes something out of his pocket, a box. Not just any box, but a ring box. “Baby, would you give me the honor and marry me?”, he says, opening the box and held a beautiful ring in it. You gasped, tears now spilling from both of your eyes. “Are you serious?!”, you say, the excitement now taking over you. “Yes. Yes. Yes. I accept!”, you say kneeling down in front of him and kissing him passionately as he hugged you tightly.
He took the ring out of the box and placed it on your ring finger. “I love you y/n”, he stands up taking you along with him. “I love you too Harry. You’ve made me the happiest person ever”, hugging him tightly. “Why don’t we get out of here yeah? You must be exhausted from all of the walking”, he says, taking your stuff from the table. Your journey back to the hotel wasn’t long, arriving there faster than you thought. Once you were in your room, you and Harry took a long bath together. You talked about your plans for the baby, your future plans together, and also the wedding. You were so elated. You couldn’t be any happier. In a few months you were going to have your baby girl and in the next year a wedding. “Y/n Styles”, he says to you, tracing patterns on your belly as your back was pressed against his chest in the bathtub. A small smile played on your face hearing the sound of his last name with your first. “Sounds so nice, doesn’t it?”, he continues. “It sure does Mr. Styles”, you say, “thank you for making Valentine’s Day so special. I will never forget today”, you say, turning around as best as you could to plant a passionate kiss on his lips. “Don’t ever forget that I will do anything for you. Absolutely. Anything”, he says between kisses. That night, you couldn’t sleep from all of the emotions you were feeling. As you watched Harry’s peaceful body sleep, you couldn’t help but feel so excited about this new journey you were going to encounter with him. As nervous as you were, you knew that him by your side, you could do anything.
