my new years wish is for the remedial mechanics at to finally get an ao3 fic 😔✊ been hanging on since the beginning of it and i’m still riveted

you know i go a bit wild when someone mentions the remedial mechanics au

honestly the part of that au i like the most is anakin being all indignant because this slutty rule breaking suggestive asshole is not his master, ok, his master is put together and wise and handsome and beautiful but in the 'untouchable way', he has a dry sense of humor and ten layers of armor in the form of proper jedi robes, he does not spread his legs in the middle of class and offer himself up as an option instead of doing his homework. he does not suck on sugar candy whenever anakin looks at him, he does not pronounce "master skywalker" like that, he does not look at him from underneath his force forsaken eyelashes!!!!!!

only for everyone who knew obi-wan as a padawan to pat anakin on the shoulder and be like 'tough luck kid everything you just said is exactly what ken-hoe-bi does."

and anakin at first probably is indignant that his master kept this side of himself from anakin who deserves to know everything about his master (because he wants to >:( )

but then probably someone else is like 'well think about it like this: obi-wan is letting you see this side now which means he thinks of you as equals. isn't that nice?'

and anakin has to admit it's....it's nice. but nice is not the word for the headache obi-wan kenobi has become in his force forsaken remedial mechanics class

Ohhhhhh I imagine that even when they baby break up, they will still occasionally sleep with the stuff animal when they’re having trouble. Or they will still cover for the other but from afar and without them realizing, like they’re the only ones that can do anything to the other.

bestie they BOTH keep those stuffed animals like even when they're knights it's just such imbued with love and affection that even years later they both find comfort in it.

i imagine even after the baby break up, they're still keeping an eye on each other from across the room, even if they're refusing to admit it. anakin talks slightly louder than normal and you can bet obi-wan is whipping his head around to see why. obi-wan throws a building block at one of the other younglings, and anakin uses the Force to make sure it hits, just because it's probably deserved and he HATES obi-wan now don't get him wrong, but he does like justice and he thinks it makes him a better jedi that he's defending someone he hates.

this obviously continues even when they're padawans/knights. obi-wan hears anakin's been hurt on a mission with qui-gon and he's very very very passive aggressive/downright rude/leaves the room when qui-gon is mentioned/there. obi-wan is hurt on a mission with yoda/one of the masters yoda gives him out to when he has to be at the temple, anakin sneaks into the air vents of the halls of healing to check him and make sure he's not dying.
