every time i watch the 212th's half assed order 66 attempt i think of that time that in tcw where cody and the rest of the 212th watch obi wan get drop kicked into a steel wall at 90 miles an hour and barely even glance his way cuz he pops right back up and they're like, "nah he's probably fine." and it just makes their, "sir, no one could have survived that fall" SO MUCH FUNNIER because they have SEEN that man survive much worse and they're just like, "well we did our best." like sirs,

Just thinking about the horribly heartbreaking symbolism of Padmé going to her grave with the Japor snippet laced in her fingers.

The Japor snippet was her reminder of who Anakin always was, of a boy who had nothing and still risked his life to help others, without thought of reward.

This necklace was a symbol of Anakin. It signified who he was as a person, of his selflessness, of his light, of his love. (See –> "You'll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine")

And her carrying it to her grave is both a symbol of her unshakable faith in him, and a metaphor: that the last piece of Anakin Skywalker is following his wife to her grave.

That Anakin Skywalker is dead.

Vader is all that's left.

(…at least, for now.)

Anakin is absolutely fascinated by Cody

he thinks the man is super cool, with his extra antennae and ability to kick the heads off droids and keep so many of the men under his command alive

while Cody is Acutely aware of this fixation, he does nothing to encourage or discourage it; Anakin takes this as invitation to continue, which he does with gusto

this means that Padme and Palpatine are both regularly treated to longwinded tales about how awesome the Marshall Commander is, and how Anakin's so glad he gets to work with him often, and even expresses his mild jealousy of how often Obi-Wan gets to work with the Commander!

(Obi-Wan gets to hear these same talks, naturally, but is in total agreement with Anakin about Cody's positive attributes (for...personal reasons, shall we say), and his agreement only furthers Anakin's regard for Cody)

(Ahsoka thinks he's insane, and starts arguing about Captain Rex's relative merits instead)

his well-documented esteem for the Commander is the true reason why Sidious' first call to issue Order 66 went to Commander Cody:

implying that Cody was in on this plot along with the Chancellor helped cement Anakin's decision to commit to the path the Sith had placed him on, and gave him the resolve to march on the Jedi Temple
