The Electronics Hoarder
Don't forget there is also a detailed video showing everything left behind here!!
youtube
And finally, let's check out the second floor which surprisingly had a bit of space to breath!!
Surrounded by trees and mostly hidden from the road sits this very overgrown property that has been abandoned for at least a couple of years. Looking at photos of the home and property from just a few years ago, it was very clean inside and empty. Fast forward a few short years and the house is filled with junk throughout most of the home, including a huge stash of electronics! The yard had a lot of garbage around as well, including old tires and lumber, although most of that seems to have been cleaned up.
Then in 2021 there was a property standards committee meeting about the land after neighbours had complained. Presumably the new residents that had moved into a new small development next door overlooking the overgrown property. The town ordered the owner of the property to get it cleaned up and back to code. The owner said he was working on getting his tenant evicted before demolishing the structures to began work on a new development. I presume the home was vacated shortly after.
The application for redevelopment was to permit 5 new single detached homes on the current property. The land was later listed for sale for $3.6 million which was almost three times the value it sold for just 7 years prior! But it never sold.

A Dog Without a Raft
(Poem about hoarder houses, by RainbowRoseGames)
Amid this journey on the sea
We'd find others who have boats
But for whatever reason they can never help us in our need
They'd give us advice and sometimes gloat
"You shouldn't try to boil the sea, it takes too long"
What's the point of it?
I don't want to boil the sea
All I want is to not have a fit
This damned mess is all that I see
How does one fend for themself
If they're never taught
How to even organize a shelf?
Now what kind of home is this?
Here on a trash island of the leaders' making
They want me to clean and simply not have a fit
You'd get fed up, too
If lying around in trash wasn't all that you could do
I'm supposed to love you
And I really do
But sometimes I hate you
For keeping me stranded on this island and not helping me all the while
I'm just a child
What do you want me to do?
I'm not going to fix everything for you
Maybe I'm being presumptuous
But what you do doesn't help fix the root of the problems
Even if you bake something scrumptious
I don't want to boil the sea
I just want someone or something to help me
What is the point of boiling the sea
If nobody helps me?
I didn't know even outsiders are worthless
But alas here we are
With no hope left in my heart
Why can't they boil the sea?
Why can't they even boil a bathtub?
I should consider this child labor
It feels like every responsibility is on me
And on my shoulders
Why do I have to act first?
I can't lift these boulders
Why can't the sea boil away?
This makeshift prison I'm living in feels like an ocean
I'm like some dog someone threw inside
I won't stay afloat over time as the time flies
Just want to escape
To never look back
And be self-sufficient
The sea is hot and it burns me and any residual hope of mine
All that I get are fake signs of a boil
Until the sea quickly cools down again
Will the sea boil this time?
Will their actions get us to shore?
Or will their paddling
Bring us somewhere worse?
Stop dawdling
Bring me to a real home
And not a trash island on the sea
I've been doing poetry lately and it helps me get through some stuff (mainly by trying to find out how to describe problems) and I figured I'd do one on hoarding and spread awareness. Often times people see videos of people cleaning hoarder houses that have all sorts of trash and pests and it's always some old lady who owns it. Hoarders don't need to be old or feeble, their houses don't need to be at such extreme conditions to be bad, or to affect household mental stability, and more terrifying of all, they can have children living in the houses with them. Why don't they just, y'know, get a cleaning crew? Or why didn't DSS or CPS find out? Usually they're good at hiding it, and are scared to get help because they're afraid authorities will take everything away from them, or some can be afraid to let go of things. It can depend greatly. And if they have children, the authorities will take everything away that they love, aka the children. This, and many other reasons, are why you don't just call authorities on someone. Please if you know someone with a hoarder type situation, just be there to support them, help them decide what to keep or get rid of, and DON'T just call authorities or cleaning crews without their explicit consent and/or knowledge.

Pest control Danny
So Danny is Damian's twin and like the usual jazz. YOU ARE ALIVE?. HAHA NO.
So batfam noticed something. When Danny thinks no one is looking he is muttering die pests and stomping his foot and in general trying to kill something
Alfred thinks Danny saw pests and does not hesitate.
Anyway like a few months later world is in danger yada yada and they need the help of a minor demon, who literally stole the key they need and they need to trade for it.
And the encounter goes like this.
Constantine: we are dealing with a minor demon, don't lower your guard just because it's a lower demon. It managed to steal the key.
Bat: hn
So Constantine summons the demon and the demon gets summoned
Demon:well well-
Danny:ITS YOU!
Demon: huh? Yes-
Danny:NOT YOU, YOUHAVE YOU BEEN THE ONE BRINGING PESTS INNNN THE HOUSE? Ugh later ILL TALK TO YOU LATER need to get rid of this
Batfam : wait a min-
Danny straight up lunges at the demon breaking the circle in the process and no longer trapping it but still Danny grabs it by the legs as it was trying to escape and he just literally kills it.
John Constantine slowly backing away : uhh we needed a . . . thing from that . . ."
Danny: I'll get that key for you, but for the love of the ancients stop summoning things . Gotham is arleady cursed enough as it is

It's a shame my boss is a library director and not the proprietor of one of those jampacked used book shops where nobody ever buys anything because she clearly just wants to accumulate things en masse but doesn't really want anyone to use them and doesn't take care of them. This includes telling us we can't circulate the juvenile fiction collection because the titles are "priceless" and "irreplaceable" (they are not. they're Newberry award winner paperbacks) but she doesn't care that the shelf is pointed straight toward a bank of huge windows and the books have been cooked to the point their covers are disintegrating. Also I spent several weeks this year explaining vinegar syndrome to her and getting it through her head that the microfilm she hoards in the warmest rooms in the building is actively self-destructing, and when I finally convinced her to let me weed the most damaged acetate and reassured her that other institutions like the historical societies do a better job of preserving newspapers anyway, a community college does not need thousands of reels our students are not using, she very earnestly asked me if I thought the historical societies knew about this "dangerous problem". Yes I promise the historical societies know about vinegar syndrome.

Hoarding Issues
Don't forget there is also a video that shows the whole house!!
youtube
And finally, here is a set of photos which show some of the items that were left behind!!
This week we get to explore an extreme hoarding situation. It appears as though the house has been abandoned for about 13 years since the latest date I could find was from 2011. The large home has not faired well during that time suffering from water damage due to a failing roof. The ceiling has completely collapsed in the master bedroom and insulation covers everything in the room. All of the personal belongings have been strewn about the house including boxes that used to be full of stuff. There was broken glass hidden beneath that clutter everywhere you walked making for a treacherous environment.
I was not able to find much definitive information about the previous owners other than a man who lived in the house was born in 1943 and presumably his wife who was born in 1961 in Hong Kong.
There is a rumour that both the husband and wife were doctors and the husband had their license revoked for a short period before he would later resign from his practice. The wife had continued to work in the field. I was not able to find any evidence of this in my research. However, I did learn that the husband worked as an airport supervisor from paperwork found in the home.
As for the reason why the house was abandoned, that we may never know but in situations like this, it is entirely possible that one or both of owners passed away.
Seeing the condition of this home, it could certainly be saved if someone wealthy had a lot of money to sink into the project but the reality is, with the extensive damage the building has received, it will likely be demolished in the future.

I have a very personal soft spot for hoarder!Haymitch. In the books, it's very clear his house is a biohazard. It feels so fitting. He's against self-improvement. He's against his own happiness. All he wants is to keep himself miserable as a punishment.
The moment Katniss and Peeta try to intervene and actually SUCCEED in helping him is so big. It's right before the third Quell. Right before everything changes. Right at the pinnacle moment where Haymitch becomes the driving force behind Katniss. It shows what's gonna happen before it does.
His house becomes livable again right before the arena. When he lets go of that need to be miserable, he instead focuses on Katniss and Peeta. Being there for them and trying to get them out. It just so happens that in the process he finds something else to live for.
The rebellion.

Skippy’s been here for a little over three months! He’s a very fast learner, here’s a few things he’s learned how to do so far:
-eat food without being scared it’ll be taken away
-walk on a leash
-play fetch (his fav is the tennis ball)
-get the zoomies
-sit and shake for a treat
-go outside without being scared
-watch for people to get home
his favorite treats are: cucumber slices, red bell pepper strips, fresh raspberries/strawberries from the garden, salmon jerky & salmon skins from trader joe’s
also Ginger says hello

So, you get the occupants with it and they don't seem friendly.
Tumblr media
It's in Kent, WA, 3bds, 1.5ba. Are they cleaning it out, or what?
Tumblr media
On second thought, no such luck, I don't think they're packing up, all those trailers are just their stuff. This house is gonna be a total gut.

In desperation, the realtor took photos of the roof and this row of shrubbery.
